CUP HOLDER TURNED OFF BY TOP OF MIDDLE FINGER, JUST BY TOUCHING IT. RENTAL COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE US WITH ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK
THE PROBLEM(S) ARE WITH BOTH A 1998 AND 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE PROBLEMS WERE AS FOLLOWED: ENGINE COMPONENTS, STEERING, SUSPENSION, BRAKING SYSTEM, BATTERY, FUEL SYSTEM, TRANSMISSION, STRUCTURAL, THE WHEELS WERE NOISY, THERE WERE VISUAL COMPONENT DEFECTS, THE RADIO WAS DEFECTIVE, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHT ON THE DOOR WAS INOPERATIVE. AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IS EMITTING UNKNOWN FUMES INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. DEALERSHIP HAS SPRAYED THE AIR CONDITIONER TO KILL MILDEW. HOWEVER, THE FUMES ARE STILL COMING FROM VEHICLE ,AND ARE CAUSING HIS WIFE TO SUFFER HEADACHES. *AK *SLC
RIGHT REAR TIRE, AND INSIDE PART OF TIRE WAS SHREDDED. ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A PONTIAC, GRAND PRIX 2000, TIRE SIZE IS P225/60R16. HAD 23 THOUSAND MILES ON THEM. *AK TIRE WAS GOODYEAR EAGLE LS, CONSUMER STATES THERE WAS NO DETECTION OF ROAD HAZARD AND THERE WAS NO TREAD DAMAGE. *SLC
VEHICLE HAS GONE TO DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES IN A 2 MONTH PERIOD. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME. 1/23/01 INSPECTED VEHICLE, FOUND DTC P0446. EVAP SOLENOID AND CHECKED PRESSURE, FOUND 1.12 OUT OF SPECS, REMOVED THE PRESSURE SENSOR AND REPLACED. RETESTED OK, 01/25/01 FOUND DTC P0446 EVAP. VENT, CONTACTED TAC. TAC ADVISED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR AGAIN. REMOVED THE SENSOR AND REPLACED. RETESTED OK 02/08/01 FOUND TERMINAL 55 WAS BACKED OUT OF CONNECTOR AT CKT 890 FOR THE PCM. ALSO FOUND THE EVAP CANISTER WAS EXCESSIVELY HEAVY, FOUND THE CANISTER WAS HOLDING FUEL IN THE ASSEMBLY. REPAIRED THE TERMINAL ON CONNECTOR AT CKT 890 AND REASSEMBLED. REPLACED THE EVAP CANISTER AND RETESTED OK 02/22/01 PROTECTIVE SHIELD PUT ON DUE TO WIRE HARNESS CHAFFING AGAINST THE MOUNTING RING ON THE A/C ACCUMULATOR. INSTALLED PROTECTOR. BUL #00-06-04-049. *AK
WE TURNED OUT A DRIVEWAY, TURNED TO AVOID A COLLISION AND DEFLECTED OFF THE CURB. DRIVE ANOTHER 6 BLOCKS AND REALIZED TIRE DIDN'T HAVE AIR. RIM WAS BROKE AND TIRE DEFLATED. UPON REPAIR WAS TOLD BEARING MAY BE DAMAGED. WE DIDN'T RUN OVER THE CURB AND ONLY RUBBED AGAINST IT WHICH BROKE THE ALUMIUM RIM WHICH DEFLATED THE TIRE AND NOW HAVE A BAD BEARING.IN MY 30 YEARS OF DRIVING I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCE THIS AND I HAVE HIT A FEW CURBS IN MY TIME. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY WHEN APPLYING BRAKES IN LOW SPEED, 20 OR LESS MPH, IT CAUSES PEDAL TO LOCK UP, A GRINDING SOUND WOULD COME FROM WHEELS AND LOSS OF BRAKING. VEHICLE BEEN IN / OUT OF DEALER SHOP ON FOUR OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING. *AK
ROTORS WERE WARPED AND I AM WONDERING IF THEIR IS A RECALL ON THEM AND IF THAT CAN CAUSE BRAKE PROBLEMS. *AK
GMC IS REPURCHASING CAR BECAUSE IT STALLS FOR NO REASON. IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING SOMETIMES. NO CODES ARE PRESENT TO DIAGNOSE PER DEALER. CAR IS A SAFETY HAZZARD. CAR IS A LEMON. DEALER CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM.*AK
ENGINE STALLS, ALL POWER ON VEHICLE IS LOST WITH NO LIGHTS. SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN TURNING BUT NOT ALWAYS THE CASE. DEALER CAN NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. DEALER HAS CONTACTED MANUFACTOR TECH. SERVICE AND FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS. HOWEVER, PROBLEM PERSISTS. CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO DEALER AS I FEEL THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND PUTS MY LIFE AND OTHERS IN DANGER. *AK
VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW AND ENGINE PISTONS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ENGINE WAS MAKING A GRINDING METAL TO METAL NOISE. WHEN VEHICLE WARMED UP IT WENT AWAY. A TECHNICAL ADVISOR WILL COME TO LOOK AT VEHICLE. DEALER WAS TRYING TO REBUILD ENGINE. CONSUMER WANTED A NEW ENGINE OR CAR.*AK
DUAL AIR CONTROL BLOWS HOT AIR WHEN TEMPERATURE IS SET ANYWHERE BETWEEN 65 AN 90. SOMETIMES ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL BLOW HOT WHILE THE DRIVER'S SIDE ADJUSTS TO CORRESPONDING TEMPERATURE SET. *AK
VEHICLE WOULD STALL UPON ACCELERATION. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT DEALER HAS NOT PROVIDED REMEDY. *AK DEALER HAS REROUTED WIRING HARNESS AND SOME OTHER WIRING ON TWO OCCASIONS WITH NO SUCCESS, CRANKSHAFT SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED AND CONSUMER HAS DRIVEN WITH A DATA RECORDER AND VEHICLE FAILED AGAIN, RECORDER INDICATED IGNITION VOLTAGE WAS LOST, IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED AND LESS THAN ONE WEEK LATER, VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN, DEALER THIS TIME REPLACED THE RELAY AND CONSUMER HAS ONLY DRIVEN ONCE SINCE REPAIR. *SLC
A RATTLING NOISE OCCURRED IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM WHEN DRIVING OVER A WASHBOARD SURFACE. I RETURNED IT 5 TIMES TO THE DEALER AND THEY WORKED ON IT 5 TIMES. THEY REPLACED THE COMPLETE FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY (THE COIL SPRING, SHOCK, STRUT BUSHING 2 OR 3 OTHER TIMES, APPLIED GREASE SEVERAL TIMES ETC). AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OR A WEEK OR SO IT WOULD START RATTLING AGAIN. THE LAST REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ON JUNE 26, 2001 IN WHICH THE BOTH STRUT ASSEMBLIES WAS REPLACED. MY CONCERN IS IF THE WEAR OF THE RATTLING PARTS CAUSES A FAILURE TO SUSPENSION WHICH COULD CAUSE A WRECK. PLEASE ADVISE CONCERNING THIS . THANK YOU. *AK

VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.*AK
STEERING HANGS WHEN TURNING LEFT POWER STEERING STOPS. *LA
SEATBELT ANCHOR BOLT ON DRIVER'S SEAT HAD THE PREVAILING NUT FALL OFF SO THAT SEATBELT WAS NOT FASTENED TO VEHICLE. BOLT IS TOO SHORT TO ENGAGE PREVAILING TORQUE FEATURE OF NUT. PASSENGER'S BELT HAS A PROPER LENGTH BOLT, ALTHOUGH THE BOLT IS FACING THE
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH VEHICLE TOTALLY SHUTDOWN, IT WAS HARD TO STEER/NO LIGHTS, AND NO WARNING LIGHTS. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM 5 TIMES, BUT NOT AS BAD AS THIS TIME.*AK
2001, PONTIAC, GRAND PRIX; REARVIEW MIRROR WOULD SEVERELY VIBRATE WHILE TRAVELING. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE ADHESIVE USED, AND THERE WERE NO REPAIRS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.*AK
ENGINE STALLED WHILE SLOWING TO MAKE A TURN. VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY. COMPUTER DID NOT REGISTER FAILURE. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE.
I FEEL THIS VEHICLE HAS NUMEROUS SAFETY DEFECTS. THIS CAR IS TO NEW TO HAVE HAD THE ITEMS LISTED REPLACED. UNFORTUNEATELY THE DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH THE ACCELERATION. MY CHILDREN ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME AND I WILL BE TRADING THIS VEHICLE OFF VERY SOON. I HAVE ASKED 3 TIMES FOR A COMPONENT BOX AND KNOWONE CAN SEEM TO LOCATE ONE. I FEEL THE DEALERSHIP IS FALLING SHORT ON THEIR PART OF "OBLIGATED 36 MONTHS OR 36,000 MILES". THIS IS THE RESPONSE I AM GETTING FROM PONTIAC. UNFORTUNEATELY "ALABAMA" IS THE ONLY STATE THAT I KNOW OF THAT DOES NOT HAVE A LEMON LAW. IS THERE ANY OTHER OPTIONS THAT A CONSUMER HAS AND IF THERE IS WHAT ARE THEY?
THUMPING NOISE HEARD IN REAR OF VEHICLE. INITIALLY ALL ROTORS REPLACED DUE TO WARPING; HOWEVER, THUMPING NOISE CONTINUES. HAVE RETURNED CAR TO DEALER 4 TIMES AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM CONTINUES TO EXSIST
THERE IS A RATTLING NOISE IN THE FRONT END OF VEHICLE, AFTER BEING INSPECTED BY DEALER IT WAS DETERMINED THAT INNER TIE RODS WERE LOOSE. *AK CONSUMER STATED THAT THE REAR DOOR W/STRIPS FAILED, MUD IS COMING UP THROUGH THE DOOR JAM. *YD

WHILE TRAVELING AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE.*AK CONSUMER STATES ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITHOUT ANY WARNING VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE, CONSUMER HAD TO PUT GEAR INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN KEY TO OFF POSITION. *JB
CONSUMER HEARS RATTLE NOISE IN FRONT UNTIL BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THEN IT STOPS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES. LAST TIME TO PONTIAC TECHNICANS. THEY FELT THAT CALIPERS WERE THE PROBLEM. DEALER DOESN'T HAVE A REMEDY. *AK *JB
TRANSMISSION FAILED RESULTING IN A COMPLETE LOSS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID AND SHIFTING CAPABILITES WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF MERGING FROM I-90/94 TO I-55. FINAL DRIVE GEAR FAILED CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE THAT RESULTED IN A FAILURE OF TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL WITH A PUNCTURE IN THE DIFFERENTIAL CASING. STRANDED ON INTERSTATE FOR 2 HOURS.
"POPPING" OR "CLUNKING" NOISE FROM FRONT END WHILE ACCELERATING IN REVERSE. SOMETIMES ACCELERATING FORWARD. VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL WHEN ACCELERATING. POSSIBLE LOOSE MOTOR MOUNT. LEFT FRONT STRUT BUSHING WAS REPLACED, BUT PROBLEM PERSISTS.*AK
WHEN VEHICLE ENGINE IS RUNNING, IT IS SUPPOSED TO CHIME WHEN A DOOR IS OPENED, BUT ONLY CHIMES SOMETIMES. ALSO, WHEN COMPUTER FLASHES "LOW" TO INDICATE LOW FUEL, IT SHOULD CHIME 3 TIMES, BUT ONLY CHIMES ONCE IF IT CHIMES AT ALL. AFTER 10 MONTHS, THE DEALER STILL CANNOT FIX IT.
VEHICLE STALLS AT ANY SPEED, HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. TO DEALER 5- 6 TIMES, CANNOT REMEDY *AK
IN THE OWNERS MANUAL ON PAGE 2-93, UNDER THE "RANGE" SECTION, IT STATES: RANGE:SHOWS HOW MUCH FARTHER YOU CAN TRAVEL WITH THE FUEL YOU HAVE BEFORE REFUELING. WHEN THE RANGE DISPLAYS "L" FOR 40 TO 50 MILES (64.36 TO 80.45KM), THE DISPLAY WILL FLASH THE WORD LOW CONTINUOUSLY AND THE VEHICLE WILL CHIME THREE TIMES. THE RANGE IS CALCULATED FROM THE AVERAGE ECON VALUE TIMES THE FUEL REMAINING IN THE TANK.".....THE PROBLEM IS, THE CAR WILL CHIME ONCE SOMETIMES WHEN IT GETS TO "LOW" AND MOST OF THE TIME IT WILL NOT CHIME AT ALL. THE SAME HAPPENS WITH THE DOORS. IF THE CAR'S ENGINE IS RUNNING, AND A DOOR IS OPENED, IT SHOULD CHIME. MOST OF THE TIME IT WILL NOT CHIME AT ALL. OTHER TIMES IT MIGHT CHIME ONCE. I HAVE HAD THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES AND EVEN WROTE A LETTER TO GM. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM THEY REPLACED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. NOW THEY ARE STATING THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM, AND THAT I DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ANYONE LOOK AT IT. THEY ARE REFUSING TO EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR TO FIX IT. IN MY OPINION, THE FACT THAT IT CHIMES SOMETIMES AND NOT OTHERS UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS INDICATES THAT THE PRODUCT/SYSTEM IS FAULTY. *AK
VEHICLE STALLED. THIS HAS OCCU RRED 9 OR 10 TIMES SINCE VEHICLE PURCHASED IN NOV 2000. NO ACCIDENTS CAUSED SO FAR.*AK
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD 2 GROUND WIRING SHORTING OUT AT ENGINE REPAIRED, A LEAKING GAS TANK REPLACED,IT HAS LOSS POWER ON ME 7 TIMES TO THIS DATE, THE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR MALFUNCTIONED, THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT HAS MALFUNCTIONED, THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKER, IT HAS HAD A MISS FIRE ON ALL 6 CYLINDERS TWICE, A SPARK PLUG, THE COIL PACK, & A SPARK PLUG WIRE QUIT AT THE SAME TIME THA BRAKE PEDAL HAS BEEN GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR, THE TRIP COMPUTER HAS MALFUNCTIONED TWICE ETC.
WHEN ACCELERATING TRANSMISSION DEFECTIVE, TWO GEARS ARE DOWN. CONSUMER A HUGE LOSS OF POWER, AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CAR TAKEN TO DEALER AND FOUND THAT WIRE WAS PINCHED/EXPOSED AND SHORT CAUSING ENGAUGMENT
NUMEROUS ISSUES 1. HEATER CORE WENT OUT AROUND 60,000 MILES. 2. DEXCOOL "GELLED" AND CAUSED THE ABOVE. 3. STEREO HAS MALFUNCTIONED SINCE 36,000 MILES. 4. TIE ROD END WORE OUT AROUND 30,000 MILES-TOOK TO DEALERSHIP A COUPLE OF TIMES AND "THEY COULDN'T DETERMINE CAUSE" OF "NOISE AND RATTLING". I TOOK IT TO A TIRE COMPANY/SERVICE CENTER AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. 5. NUMEROUS INTERIOR FLOODINGS-WATER COMES IN AT THE FIREWALL AND FLOODS THE INTERIOR CARPET-HAS MOLD, AND DETERIORATION FROM IT. 6. HEADLAMPS ARE YELLOW AND NONTRANSPARENT-THE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY BECAUSE IT CAN'T SHINE THROUGH. 7. HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES ARE HOLDING WATER. 8. FOG LAMPS WENT OUT RIGHT AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR AND ONE OF THEM BURNED THE PLASTIC ASSEMBLY THAT HOLDS IT CAUSING IT TO NOT WORK AT ALL, DISFIGURED NOW. 9. REAR SPOILER IS NOT ATTACHED CORRECTLY AND SEEMS TO BE THE CAUSE OF WATER ENTERING THE TRUNK LID.
2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX HAD TWO COILS REPLACED.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE VEHICLE WAS HESITATING BETWEEN 20-30 MPH. THE DEALER REPLACED 2 COILS BUT THE PROBLEM PERSIST. *NM
2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX CAUGHT FIRE. CONSUMERS INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO IS HANDLING THIS CASE. *KB
2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP WITH RECALL FOR FRONT ROCKER COVER GASKET TEMPERATURES. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE MECHANIC WHO LOOKED OVER THE VEHICLE NOTICED TWO OTHER HEAD GASKET LEAKS. *KB THE MECHANIC STATED THE OTHER ROCKER COVER GASKET WAS LEAKING AS WELL AS THE INTAKE GASKET. *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT SHE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR HER 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX (09047) BUT ITS A YEAR TOO LATE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY A FIRE. *NJ RECALL 08V118000. *JB
INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WILL STALL UNEXPECTEDLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHICH MAY RESULT IN A CRASH. DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND CANNOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. DEALER ALREADY GAVE CONSUMER ANOTHER 2000 GRAND PRIX. BUT THIS VEHICLE IS ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
LOUD RATTLE IN FRONT, STOPS WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. THIS IS A RATTLE THAT GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP. REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES. WAS TOLD IT WAS DESIGN PROBLEM WITH THE CALIPER, KNOWN PROBLEM BY THE DEALER. WAITED MONTHS FOR A FIX WHICH WAS UNSUCESSFUL. CURRENTLY NO FIX AVAILABLE. CONCERNED ABOUT IT BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. *AK
I WAS REGISTERED WITH PONTIAC FOR RECALL NOTIFICATION. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS SEATBELT REPLACEMENT CAMPAIGN. I FOUND OUT ABOUT IT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LIBERTY PONTIAC LAST WEEK FOR AN UNRELATED PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED THE PONTIAC RECALL HOTLINE, THEY ADMITTED THAT THEY HAD NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY I WAS NOT NOTIFIED. HAD I NOT TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR UNRELATED REPAIRS, I WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH DEFECTIVE SEATBELTS.*AK

GLUE ON HEADLIGHT LENS BECOMES WORN WHICH RESULTS IN LENS COVER FALLING OFF, EXPOSING BULBS. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK

ABS BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATES, INDICATING A MALFUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM, CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
