Not sure if the problem is in the engine or engine or the fuel but I but I smell Exhaust or gas when the engine is running. With the headlights I can barely see at night. Having my brights on Is like having your regular lights on.
IT WAS DRIVING FINE AND I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND NOTICED THAT THE STEERING BECAME REALLY HARD THEN SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING SO I PARKED THEN STARTED SEEING SMOKE COME FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD SO I OPENED IT AND SAW A SMALL FLAME TOWARD THE BACK OF THE ENGINE LUCKILY I HAD A JUG OF WATER IN THE TRUNK AND PUT IT OUT AND THERE WAS POWER STEERING FLUID SPARYED ALL OVER I'M ASSUMING THE FIRE MELTED A HOSE. THE CAR STILL START BUT IT DOESN'T SOUND GOOD PROBABLY MELTED THE SPARK PLUGS WIRES I'M SURE . * (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
THE MAP LIGHTS WONT TURN OFF. ITS NOT REGISTERING MY DOOR BEING SHUT I HAVE REPLACED EVERYTHING ON THE DOOR BUT IT STILL GIVES ME THIS PROBLEM. ITS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING.
I HAVE THREE COMPLAINTS. 1. WINDOW ISSUES: I HAVE HAD TO HAVE REPAIR WORK DONE ON TWO WINDOWS. THE FIRST ONE FELL DOWN AND WAS REPAIRED WITHOUT HAVING TO REPLACE THE MOTOR OR ANYTHING, BUT IT STILL COST ABOUT $150 IN LABOR. THE SECOND TIME I HAD A WINDOW NOT WORKING, IT WAS THE SWITCH IN THE DOOR. MY PARENTS HAVE A CAR LIKE MINE AND HAVE HAD TO HAVE EXPENSIVE WINDOW MECHANICS REPLACEMENT DONE AS WELL. 2. ANOTHER PROBLEM I AM HAVING NOW IS WITH THE SWITCH FOR THE REAR LIGHTS. IT HAS QUIT WORKING AND THE PART ALONE WILL COST ABOUT $350. THE MECHANIC SAYS THAT HE HAS HAD TO REPLACE SEVERAL OF THESE HIMSELF, AND HE IS A PRIVATE BUSINESSMAN. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM THAT RECURS WITH THE GRAND PRIX BECAUSE IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. 3. IN CHECKING AFTER MY MECHANIC SAID THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ABOUT THE REAR LIGHT SWITCH, I HAVE FOUND 5 RECALLS FOR WHICH I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN TO GET THESE CORRECTED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT CONDENSATION ACCUMULATES IN THE TAIL LIGHTS AND THE SAFETY FLASHERS CAUSE THEM TO BLOW OUT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED THE CONTACT TO RECEIVE A WARNING FROM THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT DUE TO THE TAIL LIGHT FAILURE. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH/HAZARD SWITCH STUCK/NOT WORKING CAUSING NO BRAKE LIGHTS. *TR
TAIL LIGHT SEALS DO NOT WORK AND KEEP FILLING WITH WATER NOT ALLOWING THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO BE SEEN! THEY WERE REPLACED ONCE AND ARE LEAKING AGAIN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. THE FUSE AND BULB WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE REMAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC AND THEY STATED THAT THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH FAILED. THE REPLACEMENT WILL COST $400. THE DEALER INFORMATION WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,300 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,250.

THE CONTACT CHANGED THE BULBS AND THE FUSES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO START A RECALL. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 70,000.
HAVE A 01 GRAND AM GT WITH THE TURN SIGNAL CLICKING NOISE THAT IS COMING FROM THE DASH. WHEN I HIT A BUMP ON THE ROAD OR TOUCH MY TURNING SIGNAL LEVER IT WILL START CLICKING. HOWEVER, IT WILL MAKE THIS MORSE CODE CLICKING NOISE THAT IS SAYING GM WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM, HAND OVER 300 DOLLARS. I KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE BECAUSE THE SERVICE MANAGER AT MY LOCAL PONTIAC DEALER SAID SO. HE ALSO STATED THAT THEY DO A TON OF THESE REPAIRS, ESPECIALLY 01 TO 04 PONTIAC GRAND AM'S. *TR
HEADLIGHT LENSES FELL OFF WHEN DRIVING. MOISTURE GOT ON BULB, CAUSING IT TO BURN OUT, UNABLE TO SEE.CONTACTED DEALER. HAD PART REPLACED; HOWEVER, PROBLEM REOCCURRED.*AK
WHEN THE CONSUMER ACTIVATED THE TURN TO SIGNAL TO INDICATE A LANE CHANGE, THERE WAS A VERY RAPID CLICKING OF THE TURN SIGNAL RELAY. THE LIGHT INDICATOR ON THE DASH DID NOT FLASH, BUT FROM THE CLICKING NOISE, THE CONSUMER THOUGHT THE TURN SIGNALS WERE OPERATING PROPERLY, THE CONSUMER FINALLY DISCOVERED THE REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT FLASHED TWICE OF ITS NORMAL SPEED, HOWEVER THE CORRESPONDING FRONT SIGNAL WAS NOT FLASHING AT ALL. *AK *SCC *JB
