A FEW DAYS AGO, I'VE HAD A THIRD WINDOW MALFUNCTION. THREE MY WINDOWS DROPPED DOWN INSIDE OF THE DOOR. THE FIRST WINDOW DID THIS THE FIRST WEEK I BOUGH THE CAR(7/06) AND WAS NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. THE SECOND WINDOW STOPPED WORKING OVER 6 MOS AGO AND NOW THE THIRD ONE. I KNOW SOMEONE ELSE WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND STARTED WITH HER BACK WINDOWS. THE WINTER MONTHS ARE HERE AND I HAVE KIDS THAT ARE ASTHMATIC. I WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF $ 300 TO REPLACE MECHANISM OF EACH WINDOW! HOW TERRIBLE FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT CAUSED ON MY PART. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED AND HAD NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY TOUCHED OR CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PARKED OUTSIDE AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED BY A REPAIR SHOP. UPDATED 09/25/07. *JB
AUTO REAR WINDOW FAILURE. BOTH REAR WINDOWS HAVE FAILED ON THIS CAR. THEY EACH CYCLED LESS THAN 10 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE. THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN I CLOSED THE REAR DOOR AND THE WINDOW FELL DOWN. *JB
DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FAILURE. WINDOW DOES NOT MOVE. WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF REGULATOR & MOTOR. *AK
DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND REAR WINDOWS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED WITHIN 1 YEAR. WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR FIRST WINDOW, THEY COULD NOT "DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEM, WORKED FINE FOR THEM, BUT NOT 2 DAYS LATER AFTER THE WARRANTY WAS UP, THE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN. SINCE THEN 2 MORE WINDOWS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. *JB
AUTOMATIC WINDOWS IN VEHICLE HAVE FAILED. THE REAR-PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS HAS BEEN FIXED TWICE. THE OTHER THREE WINDOWS HAVE GONE OUT WITHIN A COUPLE MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND THE WINDOWS HAVE FAILED 5 TIMES. EACH REPAIR COST APPROXIMATELY $350 A PIECE. *AK
I OWN A 2001 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT, 4 DOOR. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE MOTOR ON THE AUTOMATIC WINDOWS HAS GONE OUT ON THREE DIFFERENT WINDOWS. ALL THREE TIMES THE MOTOR WAS REPLACED BY A PONTIAC DEALERSHIP. THE LAST TIME WAS NOVEMBER 2004 AND THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. BECAUSE THIS WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM I FOUGHT THE $500 BILL WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND EVENTUALLY GM FIXED THE WINDOW AT NO COST TO ME. A FRIEND OF MINE HAS A GOVERNMENT ISSUED PONTIAC, SAME YEAR, MAKE & MODEL. SHE HAS HAD TWO WINDOW MOTORS REPLACED. *JB
WINDSHIELD HAS DISTORTION HORIZONTALLY THROUGH THE DRIVERS VIEWING AREA. THIS WAS PRESENT ON THE ORIGINAL AS WELL AS THE REPLACEMENT. SEVERE DISTORTION WAS ALSO PRESENT ON EACH SIDE OF THE ORIGINAL WINDSHIELD AND ALONG THE LOWER EDGE OF THE REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD. DISTORTION IS CAUSING IMPAIRED VISION AS WELL AS DRIVER FATIGUE DUE TO HEADACHE AND NAUSEA. *AK
WHILE DRIVING IN A HEAVY DOWN POUR WHEN WIPERS WERE NEEDED, PASSENGER'S SIDE WIPER ARM STOPPED WORKING, AT FIRST THEN RESTARTED WORKING OFF SET, CAUSING PASSENGER'S SIDE WIPER ARM TO FIGHT WITH DRIVER'S SIDE WIPER ARM, RESULTING IN POOR DRIVER'S VISIBILITY. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER.*AK *SLC
WHILE TRAVELING SIDE FUMES FROM OTHER VEHICLES WERE INSIDE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
