THE TRACTION CONTROL FEATURE IS UNSAFE. WHEN IT COMES ON IT CAUSES THE WHEELS TO LOCK, PREVENTS BRAKING, AND PROPER STEERING. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS IN THE RAIN. IT HAS IN THE SNOW AND EVEN WHEN IT IS DRY. ONCE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE THE WHEELS LOCKED CAUSING ME TO SLIDE INTO THE VEHICLE PARKED IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN IT HAPPENED IN THE SNOW IT CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL AND SLIDE ACROSS THE ENTIRE INTERSECTION LUCKILY NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE PRESENT. AND YES, I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IN THE SNOW. I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 15 MPH AND LIGHTLY TAPPED THE BREAKS AT THE STOP SIGN. WHEN I REMEMBER TO TURN THE BUTTON OFF AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN BUT SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO REMEMBER SINCE IT IS AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED. THE TIMES THIS HAS OCCURRED I WAS EITHER TURNING ON COMING TO A STOP AND SPEED DOES NOT SEEM TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IT HAS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREETS, FREEWAYS, PARKING LOTS, NEIGHBORHOOD STOP SIGNS, AND DRIVEWAYS. THIS HAS BEEN RANDOMLY HAPPENING THE ENTIRE 5 YEARS I HAVE OWNED THE CAR.
PURCHASED MIC DEFENDER TIRES JAN 3, 2013 AND THEY ARE CRACKED ON THE SIDES THEY TELL ME THEY MITE BLOW OUT ON THE ROAD. *TR
ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, VARIABLE STEERING EFFORT WARNINGS CAME ON ALL AT ONCE. TURNED OUT TO BE A BAD WHEEL HUB/BEARING. HAVE REPLACED TWO WHEEL HUBS, ONE AT 40K MILES AND THE OTHER AT 61K MILES. THE CAR IS A GRAND PRIX GTP, FOR THE MONEY PAID FOR THE VEHICLE, IT SHOULD HAVE HELD UP BETTER. *TR
MY PONTIAC 2005 GRAND PRIX CAME WITH GOODYEAR TIRES, TWO OF WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AFTER 18,317 MILES. THE TIRES WERE REGULARLY ROTATED, BALANCED, AND ALIGNED PRIOR TO THIS.*TR
BAD GOODYEAR EAGLE LS TIRES ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. JUST REPLACED L FRONT TIRE WITH ONLY 1 LOW PRESSURE SIGNAL - TIRES WENT BAD IN ONE WEEK. NOW THE R FRONT TIRE HAS COME UP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS ONLY 28,000 PLUS MILES ON THE CAR AND THE TIRES ARE RATED FOR 50 TO 60 THOUSAND MILES. *NM
ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2005 AT 7:30 PM I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES AN HOUR (IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE). I FELT A TIRE GOING FLAT. I PULLED OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY GOT OUT AN SAW THAT MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE WAS FLAT. A TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED, THE SPARE WAS PUT ON AND THE FLAT TIRE WAS PUT IN THE TRUNK. THE NEXT MORNING MY HUSBAND AND I INSPECTED THE FLAT TIRE AND SAW THAT THE TREAD HAD SEPARATED, AND THE STEEL BELT HAD PUNCTURED THE TIRE CAUSING THE FLAT. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE TIRE TO DISCOUNT TIRE FOR INSPECTION OF THE OTHER TIRES AND REPLACEMENT OF THE FLAT. WHILE THERE HE WAS TOLD THAT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE TREAD WAS BEGINNING TO SEPARATE ALSO. WE REPLACED BOTH TIRES, BUT LEFT THE REAR TIRES IN PLACE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR INDICATED HE SEES THIS 2-3 TIMES A WEEK ON GOODYEAR TIRES. THE TIRES ARE GOODYEAR EAGLE LS; THE CAR IS A 2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WE ALSO HAVE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGED TIRE. PLEASE ADVISE. *NM
