AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACED THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE TWICE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES CONTINUED. ALSO, THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES FAILED TO ILLUMINATE, AT TIMES, DURING THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND HAD NOT ISSUED ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
