EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, DEFECTIVE PISTON RINGS. THE 2009 POINTIAC VIBE GT SHARES THE SAME ENGINE AS THE 2009 TOYOTA MATRIX. THE ENGINES WERE MANUFACTURED IN THE SAME PLANT. TOYOTA HAS ISSUED A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM ' ZE7, TO FIX THE PREMATURE WEAR OF THE DEFECTIVE PISTON RINGS. GM HAS NOT ISSUED AS SIMILAR FIX (AS OF MARCH 2017). PONTIAC OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COST OF THE REPAIR.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT MY FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IN EARLY FEBRUARY STATING THAT I SHOULD NOT USE MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG HAS BEEN REPAIRED. IT IS NOW ALMOST 4 MONTHS LATER, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF ANY FIX AVAILABLE. I CALLED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT NOT ONLY IS A FIX NOT AVAILABLE, NO ONE AT THE COMPANY HAS ANY IDEA WHEN ONE WILL BE. SO AFTER 4 MONTHS OF DRIVING A CAR THAT I CAN'T USE TO TRANSPORT MY FAMILY, I STILL HAVE NO INFORMATION ON WHEN I CAN GET IT FIXED.

TAKATA RECALL - MY CAR WAS PART OF THE JANUARY 2017 TAKATA RECALL. AS OF OCTOBER 26, 2017 NO REMEDY FOR THIS RECALL IS AVAILABLE. MY CAR SITS IN THE GARAGE AS IT IS NOT FEASIBLE FOR A FAMILY TO USE A CAR WITHOUT OCCUPYING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. DURING THE SUMMER, I ASKED GM FOR A LOANER CAR FOR A FAMILY ROAD TRIP. THEY REFUSED TO HELP OFFERING NO FURTHER INFORMATION BEYOND THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SHOULD NOT BE USED.

TAKATA RECALL IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE I RECEIVED THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT REPAIRED. NO DEALER SEEMS TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS AND NOW TAKATA HAS GONE INTO CHAPTER 11. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED.

TAKATA RECALL I DON'T MEAN TO ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE, BUT IT HAS BEEN ALMOST NINE MONTHS SINCE A RECALL OF MY PONTIAC VIBE 2009, PURCHASED IN 2008, WAS ISSUED. EARLIER A FEW YEARS BACK, THE DRIVER AIRBAG WAS REPLACED AS PART OF A RECALL.NO PROBLEM. WE ARE IN A VERY HUMID AREA, STILL NC IS LISTED AS A ZONE 2, FURTHER EXTENDING THE WAIT TIME. AND INCREASING THE POSSIBILITY OF A TRAGEDY. PLEASE HURRY WITH A SOLUTION. THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM GM, THE MANUFACTURER, IN JANUARY 2017, THAT MY VEHICLE HAS TAKATA AIRBAGS THAT REQUIRE RECALL. HOWEVER, THE NOTIFICATION INDICATED THAT THEY DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE A SOLUTION. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 2017, AND THE MANUFACTURER'S WEBSITE STILL SAYS THAT THEY HAVE NO REMEDY.
THIS RECALL IS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. IT HAS BEEN UNDER RECALL SINCE JANUARY 10, 2017. IN MARCH, I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT THIS RECALL. AS OF TODAY, THERE ARE STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO DO THE RECALL. ALSO, THERE IS NO INDICATION WHEN THEY MIGHT BE AVAILABLE. THE RESULT IS THAT I AM STUCK WITH A CAR THAT CANNOT HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. SO, I CANNOT USE THE CAR FOR MY FAMILY ETC. PONTIAC HAS NOT MADE LOANER VEHICLES AVAILABLE SO THAT I CAN CARRY OUT MY BUSINESS AS I SHOULD BE ABLE TO. I HAVE ATTACHED THE OUTPUT OF THE WEBSITE DESCRIBING THE RECALL AND INDICATING THAT NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE.

GM SENT A RECALL NOTICE TO ME BACK IN JANUARY 2017 ABOUT THE AIRBAG ISSUE, BUT NOW ALMOST 11 MONTHS LATER THEY STILL HAVE NOT STARTED FIXING THE PROBLEM AND WHEN I CALLED TODAY THEY STILL GIVE ME THE SAME STORY ABOUT INVESTIGATING THE BEST SOLUTIONS FOR THE PROBLEM AND CAN PROVIDE NO DATE WHEN THEY WILL ACTUALLY START FIXING THE PROBLEM. THE REPRESENTATIVE CLAIMS MY CAR IS "SAFE' TO DRIVE, BUT WHEN I ASKED HIM TO PUT THAT IN WRITING HE SAID THAT WASN'T POSSIBLE. I THINK SOME PRESSURE SHOULD BE PUT ON THESE COMPANIES TO START MAKING REPAIRS. I'VE HEARD OF OTHER COMPANIES MAKING THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. WHY ISN'T GM?
