TAKATA RECALL WAS NOTIFIED OF THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL (NHTSA RECALL 17V006; MANUFACTUR RECALL NUMBER N162017009) ON JANUARY 10, 2017. IT IS CURRENTLY OCTOBER 28, 2017.I HAVE TRIED CALLING MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE LAST 10 MONTHS, YET THEY CONTINUE TO CLAIM A FIX IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. AND THAT FOR SAFETY REASONS, I SHOULD NOT HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. MY WIFE IS PREGNANT WITH OUR SECOND CHILD AND IS DUE IN JUST OVER 2 WEEKS. THE 2009 PONTIAC VIBE CAR WILL ONLY FIT 2 CAR SEATS IN THE BACK ROW, WHICH MEANS THAT ONLY 3 PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO RIDE IN THE CAR DUE TO THIS AIRBAG RECALL. SINCE OUR DEALERSHIP SAID THAT NO FIX WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON, WE WILL BE FORCED TO USE A SECOND VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT OUR FAMILY ANYWHERE WE GO. THIS IS JUST PLAIN UNACCEPTABLE. THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD DISCONNECT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, WHICH WOULD ALLOW A PASSENGER TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. SURE, IT MAY NOT BE AS SAFE AS DRIVING WITH AN AIRBAG, BUT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, IT IS A WHOLE LOT SAFER THAN HAVING A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT WITH A TAKATA AIRBAG. THE 2009 PONTIAC VIBE HAD ONLY 31,000 MILES ON IT WHEN WE WERE NOTIFIED. IT CURRENTLY HAS 37,000 MILES ON IT. THERE WAS A SIMILAR RECALL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG YEARS AGO. WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION IN 2012 OR 2013 ABOUT THE ISSUE AND TO CONTACT OUR DEALER (IN NEW MEXICO AT THE TIME). THEY CLAIMED NO FIX WAS AVAILABLE. IT WAS ONLY JUST ADDRESSED BY OUR NEW LOCAL DEALER (IN VIRGINIA) IN 2016 BECAUSE PARTS WERE "FINALLY AVAILABLE". THAT'S AT LEAST 3 YEARS AND WHILE ALSO UNACCEPTABLE, I DON'T HAVE ACTUAL DATES FOR IT. I AM FEARING THIS CURRENT PASSENGER TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL WILL TAKE JUST AS MANY YEARS.

TAKATA RECALL. WE GOT A NOTICE IN JANUARY 2017, IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 2017 AND NOTHING FURTHER HAS HAPPENED. THIS IS REALLY RIDICULOUS. THE MANUFACTURER SURELY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM IN A MORE TIMELY FASHION.

TAKATA RECALL APPARENTLY MY RECALL STATES "RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE." GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF THIS RECALL, I FIND IT TROUBLING THAT NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE NEARLY A YEAR AFTER I WAS FIRST NOTIFIED. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY STATE THAT THEY CANNOT ACT UNTIL THE REMEDY IS IDENTIFIED. THIS MY FAMILY'S ONLY CAR AND RELY ON IT DAILY. THERE HAS BEEN NO INCIDENT YET, BUT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING A CAR WITH SUCH A SEVERE DEFECT. I'M NOT SURE WHAT I CAN DO, BUT THIS IS NOT SAFE AND THE LENGTH TO IDENTIFY A REMEDY IS IRRESPONSIBLE.

TAKATA RECALL THE AIRBAG RECALL HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN IN EFFECT SINCE JAN 10, 2017 WITH A REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. THAT IS ALMOST 10 MONTHS WITH NO REMEDY. I CANNOT USE MY CAR TO TRANSPORT MY FAMILY FROM POINT A TO POINT B WITHOUT THREAT OF BODILY HARM.

CALLED ON 11/17/17 - SPOKE TO GM CUST SERVICE... TOLD SAME THING ( GM DOESN'T HAVE A SOLUTION TO FIX THE PROBLEM) ... CUSTOMER SERVICE REP HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO PUT PRESSURE ON THE AMERICAN MANUFACTURES TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE PARTS THEY PUT INTO AN AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE. MY TOYOTA COROLLA HAD AN AIRBAG REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO.

TAKATA RECALL: I BELIEVE ITS BEEN ABOUT A YEAR SINCE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY ALWAYS SAY THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE DEALER. IT IS ABOUT GENERAL MOTORS. I HAVE PARKED THE CAR FOR A YEAR BUT CONTINUE TO PAY LICENSE AND INSURANCE. IF THEY CAN'T GET THE PARTS, THEY SHOULD BUY THE CARS BACK AT THE AVERAGE NADA/BLUE BOOK VALUE. THEN, THEY CAN STORE THE CARS UNTIL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I KNOW THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MILLIONS OF CARS RECALLED; BUT GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING THEM FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER. I BELIEVE THEY COULD GET THEM MANUFACTURED BY SOMEONE ELSE OR A VARIETY OF COMPANIES. THEY ARE PROTECTING THEIR EARNINGS, STOCK PRICE, AND SHAREHOLDERS. THEY SHOULD BE FINED FOR EVERY DAY THAT THEY DRAG THIS OUT. AND, THAT FINE BE ON A PER CAR BASIS, WITH THE OWNER OF THE CAR REAPING THE BENEFITS OF THAT FINE. TAKATA AIRBAG. I HAVE A 5 PASSENGER CAR WITH 5 PEOPLE IN MY FAMILY. WE ARE UNABLE TO USE THE FRONT SEAT NOT ALLOWING US TO USE THE CAR. IT HAS BEEN 11 MONTHS FOR THIS RECALL. IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO TRANSPORT THE WHOLE FAMILY IN ONE CAR.

TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED RECALL 150826 (15826) (NHTSA: 16V340) IN JULY 2016. IT IS NOW END OF DECEMBER AND NO RESOLUTION HAS BEEN ADVISED. WARNED NOT TO OCCUPY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHICH IS UNREASONABLE SINCE THE CAR IS USED FOR FAMILY TRIPS AND WILL OFTEN HAVE PASSENGER(S). SO FAR NO EVIDENCE OF MALFUNCTION HAS OCCURRED BUT THE POTENTIAL IS FRIGHTENING. RESPONSE TIME IS UNSATISFACTORY AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY!
PEDAL ACCELERATOR - WHEN DRIVING, THE CAR ACCELERATES ON THIS OWN EVEN WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS NOT DEPRESSED. THE RESULT IS INCREASED SPEEDS, AND WHEN REACHING A STOP, THE CAR HAS TO QUICKLY BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL OR PARK TO STOP THE CAR, ELSE, IT WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE. THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS SITUATION WITH GMC AND THERE WAS AN ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, IT HAS BECOME AN ISSUE AGAIN. TAKATA RECALL. THIS RECALL WAS IDENTIFIED ON 5/23/2016. SIX MONTHS HAVE PASSED, WHICH SEEMS EXCESSIVE FOR A COUNTERMEASURE TO NOT HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED YET. HAVING THIS RECALL CONTINUING TO BE OUTSTANDING MAKES SELLING THIS VEHICLE WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE VERY PROBLEMATIC.

MY 2009 PONTIAC VIBE 2.4L ENGINE HAD EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING AND IT WENT FROM BAD TO WORSE IN A MATTER OF DAYS. I HAD IT LOOKED AT AND THE PISTON RINGS WERE FAULTY, WHICH THEN LED TO MY ENGINE SEIZING, AND ALSO MY SEAT BELT BUCKLE WHICH CONNECTS TO THE SEAT WILL NOT LATCH IN THE DRIVERS SIDE IN THE DRIVERS CHAIR AND AND ALSO THE DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER SEAT WHICH IS MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. MY ENGINE WAS MAINTAINED EVERY 3000 MILES WITH OIL CHANGES AND IT HAS 154,000 MILES ON IT.

I ALREADY WAS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BECAUSE OF AN ARTICLE PRINTED IN MY LOCAL NEWSPAPER IN 2016 AND HAD VERIFIED MY CAR HAD BEEN AFFECTED VIA MY VIN. I BELIEVE IT IS PAST TIME FOR GM FIX MY CAR.
