TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITHOUT THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE BRAKE SENSOR SPRING WAS ADJUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE MILEAGE WAS 6,800.

I HAD A CAR WRECK IN A 4 MONTH OLD 2011 RAM 1500 4 WD QUAD CAB ON OCT 3 RD 2011, I WAS PUSHED INTO A METAL GUARD RAIL AND CONCRETE WALL AT 70 MPH, THE FROMT PASSENGER WHEEL BROKE COMPLTEY OFF AND BOTH FRONT SIDE WERE IMPACTED HARD ENOUGH TO BED THE FRAME ON BOTH SIDES, NO BRAKES BEFORE OR AFTER IMPACT, I DID HABE MY SEAT BELT ON, NONE OF THE FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AT ANY TIME. THE CAR THAT HIT ME HAD SULL AIR BAG DEPLYMENT. I JUST HAD THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT 17K MILES AND TIRE ROATION WHICH TOLD ME "QUOTE" THIS TRUCK HAS SEVERAL RECALLS THAT WERE NOT MAILED OUT TO THE OWNERS". THEY DID NOT TELL ME WHAT THE RECALLS WERE THEY ONLY SAID THAT THEY CHAGED THE OIL AND ROATED THE TIRES AND CHECKED THE COUMPUTER FOR "ISSUES". *TT
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WITH ONLY THE REAR WINDOWS DOWN, IETHER ONE OR BOTH THE VEHICLE WILL SHAKE, VIBRATE AND THE NOISE LEVEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE WILL RISE TO A LEVEL MAKING CONVERSATION IMPOSSIBLE. AT HIGHER SPEED THE VIBRATION AND SHAKING BECOME MORE PROBLEMATIC. DODGE DEALER SHOWED ME PAGE IN OWNERS MANUAL SAYING IF THIS IS A PROBLEM, JUST PUT DOWN MORE WINDOWS, EVEN IF YOU DONT WANT THE OTHER WINDOWS DOWN, PUT DOWN MORE WINDOWS. DESIGN DEFECT ? *TT
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE AT ANY SPEED FROM 25 MILES AND ABOVE WITH REAR QUAD CAB DOOR WINDOWS DOWN - ANY HEIGHT - VEHICLES SHAKES VIOLENTLY, NOISE IN CAB MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TALK. HAVE DONE THIS WITH SINGLE WINDOW DOWN, REAR WINDOW BOTH OPENED AND CLOSED AND VEHICLE STILL SHAKES MAKING VEHICLE HARD TO DRIVE. HAVE NOT TRIED THIS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS I IMAGINE THE VEHICLE WOULD BE UNCONTROLLABLE. *TR
THE RAM 1500 I PURCHASED NEW WAS SOLD TO ME WITH AN ACTIVE REAR AXLE RECALL IN EFFECT. I WAS TOLD THAT A RECALL ORDER WAS IN PLACE AFTER I PURCHASED THE TRUCK AND THAT THE PARTS FOR THIS RECALL WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND I WOULD RECEIVE NOTIFICATION TO BRING MY TRUCK IN FOR THE RECALL REPAIR ON THE REAR AXLE. I NOTICED A GROWLING TYPE NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR END REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INFORMED THIS WOULD BE REPAIRED WHEN THE REAR AXLE PARTS ARE INSTALLED. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK FOR THE REPAIR AND THEN RETURNED AT A LATER DATE DUE TO A RECURRING GROWLING NOISE IN WHICH THEY ADDED MORE FLUID.I NOW UNDERSTAND ANOTHER RECALL IS FORTHCOMING TO REPAIR THE SEAL ON THE REAR AXLE BOLT. THIS TRUCK SHOULD NOT OF BEEN SOLD DUE TO THE UNSAFE CONDITION TO ME. FAMILY AND OTHERS. THIS HAS BEEN A PERSISTENT PROBLEM AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED AS A REMEDIED VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WITH THE UPCOMING RELATED RECALL.I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE BUY BACK DUE TO THE ONGOING PROBLEMS OR RETURN FOR A NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE.
RIGHT KNEE BUMPS THE LARGE KEY TURNING IT, AND SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE, MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES USUALLY WHILE CORNERING OR SLOWING FOR A CORNER. *JB
WE BOUGHT A 2011 DODGE RAM EXPRESS TRUCK WHICH IS A SINGLE CAB TRUCK. BEHIND THE SEAT IS THE PLACE FOR THE ANCHOR HOOK BUT THERE ARE NO HOOKS IN THE CREASE OF THE SEAT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IF I BUCKLE UP THE SEATBELT AROUND THE CAR SEAT IT ENGAGES THE AIRBAG. THIS MEANS THAT MY SON CANNOT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE. THIS JUST MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. I THOUGHT ALL VEHICLES HAD TO HAVE THE LATCH HOOK IN THE SEAT TOO. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL IN REGARDS TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V656000(SUSPENSION:REAR:AXLE:SPINDLE) AND SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE PARTS ARE STILL ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER THAT THEY WOULD CHECK ON THE DISTRIBUTION TO HER DEALER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 3,100.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY PULLING OUR GOOSENECK TRAILER I HIT A BUMP ON THE HIGHWAY. ONCE I HIT THE BUMP THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS RIPPED FROM MY HANDS. I COULD NOT HOLD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL. DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL ONLY MADE THE TRUCK JERK TO ONE SIDE VERY QUICKLY. ALL I COULD DO WAS DOWN SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION AND USE THE TRAILER BRAKES LIGHTLY TO SLOW DOWN. I HAD NO STEERING CONTROL AT ALL. WHILE SLOWING DOWN I RAN 3 CARS OFF THE ROAD ON TO THE SHOULDER DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER THE TRUCK AT ALL. I COULD HAVE EASILY KILLED MYSELF AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE HIGHWAY AT THAT TIME. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT STANLEY-LYND AUTOPLEX IN CAMERON TEXAS UNDERGOING "REPAIRS". THE SERVICE MANAGER, MECHANIC AND THE DEALERSHIP OWNER ALL STATED AND AGREED THAT THERE IS NO KNOWN CAUSE AND NO KNOWN REPAIR TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS LIFE AND SAFETY HAZARD. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO DO THIS "DEATH WOBBLE" AS IT WAS NAMED AT THE DEALERSHIP AT ANYTIME THE TRUCK ENCOUNTERED A BUMP, EXPANSION JOINT OR UN EVEN PAVEMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10. TRUCK WON'T START AFTER SITTING FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME 5-6 HOURS, THEN IT STARTS.POWER WINDOW & LOCKS, VISOR LIGHTS, TRACTION CONTROL, REAR BRAKE LIGHT, TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING LIGHT, ALL WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. AC OUTLET HAS NEVER WORKED, KEY PULLED OUT OF IGNITION WITH TRUCK STAYING RUNNING, KEY STUCK IN IGNITION WON'T RELEASE, BIG THING IS TRUCK SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING, NOW WERE AFRAID OF DRIVING IT. DEALER LOOKED AT NUMEROUS TIMES TO BLAME OUR STEREO IN IT. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING IT HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, DON'T KNOW WHAT ITS GOING TO TAKE FOR A RECALL, SOMEONE GETTING KILLED? CHRYSLER HAS RECALLED IT IN THE DODGE DURANGO, JEEP CHEROKEE AND OTHER VEHICLES BUT NOT RAM 1500, COST 1000- 3000 FROM DEALER WHO IS THE ONLY ONE TO FIX ? THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED FOR REPAIRS WAS ON BACKORDER AND THEY WOULD ONLY RECEIVE ONE PART EACH MONTH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR TIME WAS UNREASONABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED UNTIL JULY BECAUSE THE CONSEQUENCE LISTED IN THE RECALL STATED THE VEHICLE COULD LOOSE CONTROL AND CAUSE A CRASH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE MANUFACTURER WOULD ONLY ALLOW THEM TO ORDER ONE PART EVERY FOURTEEN DAYS AND IT WOULD BE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED SINCE THE RECALL STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 6,400.

THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THE BEARING COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,225.

THE PROBLEM IS... THE REAR AXLE PINION BEARING ON YOUR TRUCK (VIN: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) MAY NOT RECEIVE ADEQUATE LUBRICATION UNDER CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS LACK OF LUBRICATION CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE PINION BEARING TO SEIZE AND CAUSE A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND/OR A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. I HAVE CONTACTED THREE DIFFERENT SERVICING DEALERS, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THREE DIFFERENT STORIES. THE ONE COMMON FACTOR THEY HAVE IS THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, AND BACKORDERS WEREN'T BEING PROCESSED. I FEEL LIKE I'M GETTING THE RUN-AROUND... THE MANUFACTURER LEFT ME A MESSAGE, AFTER MY NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, STATING THAT PARTS WERE BEING EXPEDITED FOR ME, BUT THEY ARE NOT RETURNING MY PHONE CALLS NOW. THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE CONCERNED OVER THIS "SAFETY RECALL" SINCE I CAN'T GET MY TRUCK FIXED. MY TRUCK'S AXLE HAS NOT FAILED AS OF YET. I CAN'T SEEM TO GET THE RECALL DONE THOUGH TO PREVENT A FAILURE. IF DODGE IS GOING TO DRAG THIS OUT, THEY NEED TO COVER THE COST OF RENTAL VEHICLES FOR AFFECTED CUSTOMERS UNTIL THEY CAN GET THE RECALL DONE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V656000 (SUSPENSION:REAR:AXLE:SPINDLE) AND CALLED THE DEALER TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO PART AVAILABILITY. AFTER TWO MONTHS OF CONTACTING THE DEALER, THE PART WAS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE RECALL AND WAS ADVISED TO CHECK WITH THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIME PERIOD OF HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND WAS CONCERNED WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF THE VEHICLE BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH IF THE RECALL FAILURE WAS TO OCCUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,168.
FROM INITIAL PURHASE, VEHICLE HAS HAD A BAD VIBRATION & SHIMMY. MAINLY FELT BETWEEN 35 MPH AND UP. SEVERITY INCREASES WITH INTERSTATE SPEEDS. TIRES AND WHEELS HAVE BEEN RULED OUT AS THE CONCERN. TRUCK HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES FOR THIS CONCERN BUT ONCE THE TIRES AND WHEELS WERE RULED OUT DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO DO ANY FURTHER INVESTIGATION. THE DISTRICT MANAGER STATES THAT NOTHING ELSE CAN BE DONE AND THE CONCERN IS NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF TRUCK. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR A LARGE MAJORITY OF 09-UP RAM OWNERS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED FURTHER. THE VIBRATION AND SHIMMY ARE SEVERE ENOUGH TO MAKE MY WIFE AND I NAUSEATED AFTER DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE FOR 5 MINUTES. *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS NECESSARY TO REMEDY THE FAILURE WERE ON BACKORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE AND ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE STILL ON BACKORDER. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. BRAKE FAILURE AFTER "SERV 4WD" INDICATOR APPEARS. WAS OPERATING IN 2WD MODE, TRAVELING AT APX 30MPH WHEN AFTER BRAKES APPLIED THE VEHICLE LOST GRIP AND SLIDE. "SERV 4WD" ILLUMINATED AND HAD NO BRAKE POWER, USE EMER TO STOP. SHUTODD ENGINE, RESTARTED AND MESSAGE WAS GONE. *TR
TAKATA RECALL I STOP AT STOP SIGN MADE A RIGHT TURN THE TRUCK WENT IN HIGH SPEED ON ITS OWN DOWN HILL ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS COMING UP IN MY LANE I BRAKE HARD AS I COULD TRYING TO AVOID HEAD ON COLLISION. THE CAR HITS ME PUSHES THE TRUCK INTO A LIGHT POLE TO MY RIGHT. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT EVEN DEPLOY. I COULD HAVE BEEN SRIOUS HURT ARE A PASSENGER. THESE TRUCKS ARE VERY DANGEROUS. IN MOTION
THERE WERE NO SPECIAL EVENTS BEFORE PROBLEM SHOWED UP, OTHER THAN THE ENGINE MUST ATTAIN NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN TRAVELING , UPHILL-DOWNHILL- OR ON LEVEL, IF YOU ARE ABOVE 45MPH AND YOU STOP APPLYING GAS PEDAL TO COAST. THE VEHICLE WILL COAST UNTIL YOU REACH APPROXIMATELY 40MPH AT WHICH TIME THE TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR. THIS CAUSES AN ABRUPT SLOWING WITHOUT ALERTING VEHICLE BEHIND YOU. THIS COULD IN EFFECT CAUSE A REAR COLLISION BECAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT ACTIVATED, AND THE GEARING IS LOW IN REAR AXLE WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SLOW AT A FASTER RATE THAN NORMAL. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THERE ALL THE TIME, ONE TIME IT DID NOT APPEAR WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE AS IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAVE CONTACTED LOCAL DEALER, FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, 3 TIMES. FIRST TIME THEY HOOKED COMPUTER TO VEHICLE AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. SECOND TIME HOOKED COMPUTER TO VEHICLE DROVE IT AND TOOK MORE READINGS. THIRD TIME THEY WERE TO TAKE MORE READINGS AND TRANSMIT TO CHRYSLER, ALSO AT THAT TIME THEY WERE TO WORK ON TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM NOT FIXED, WHEN I RETURNED HOME THAT EVENING I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM DEALER STATING THAT CHRYSLER WAS TO GIVE THEM A COMPUTER FLASH OR PROGRAM THAT MAY FIX THE PROBLEM, AND IT COULD TAKE 3 TO 6 MONTHS TO OBTAIN. DURING THE SECOND VISIT I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER HAD AT LEAST 3 OTHER VEHICLES WITH SAME PROBLEM BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE IS AND THEREFORE THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO REPAIR. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED IN WRITING BY DEALER OR CHRYSLER CORP. NO PARTS WERE REPLACED THAT I AM AWARE OF. I ALSO DROVE ANOTHER TRUCK SAME EQUIPMENT IT DID NOT EXHIBIT THE PROBLEM. I AM NOT CERTAIN IF THIS IS A PLOY TO SKIRT THE LEMON LAW OR NOT. AT ANY RATE THE PROBLEM NEEDS ATTENTION SOONER THAN LATER, ALSO THIS IS CAUSING HIGHER FUEL CONSUMPTION BECAUSE OF HAVING TO FEED GAS WHEN THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE COASTING! *TR

WHILE DRIVING ABOVE 50 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT WHEN HE WOULD ROLL THE REAR WINDOWS DOWN, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE EXCESSIVELY ALMOST CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE ACCELERATING ON AN ICY ROAD THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ENGAGED AND A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALSO BEGAN TO VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER HE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGED. THE BRAKE PEDAL BEGAN TO PULSATE VIOLENTLY BEFORE DEPRESSING TO THE FLOOR. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,700.
THERE IS A SHUTTER OR VIBRATION IN THE TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 RPM. IT FEELS LIKE A MISS IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM, OR AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN GEARS, IT MAY BE RELATED TO THE ECO BOOST SYSTEM ON THE HEMI ENGINES. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THE PROBLEM. THE FIRST TWO TIMES I WAS TOLD THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE CONDITION BUT THERE IS NO FIX FOR IT AT THIS TIME. THE TRUCK WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE 3RD TIME LAST WEEK, APPROX 8/5/2011 AND AN UPDATE WAS INSTALLED TO THE TRANSMISSION CHANGING THE SHIFT POINTS. THE CONDITION IMPROVED SLIGHTLY, BUT THE VIBRATION AND SHUTTERING IS STILL PRESENT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A CONDITION THAT I WOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH AND ALL THE NEW HEMI ENGINES HAVE THAT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED TWO MANUFACTURER RECALL NOTICES AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 10V656000, SUSPENSION: REAR: AXLE: SPINDLE OVER SIX MONTHS AND THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE REPAIR HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,000. Ignition switch. There is an old recall on this switch but my trucks vin # was not included. I complained awhile back and still it was not added. 11373017. My switch needs to be recalled. I’m having the same exact problems originally reported. On more than one occasion I have almost gotten in an accident because of the keys falling out and getting jammed underneath the gas pedal.
