TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WITH ADEQUATE BRIGHTNESS. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE HEADLIGHTS WERE IN ACTIVATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE WHERE BOTH HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECURRING PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300. ..UPDATED 12-05-13 *BF
THE HEADLIGHTS, BOTH HIGH AND LOW BEAMS, ARE SO POOR AS TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. ON LOW BEAM, THE ROAD IS LIGHTED FOR ONLY 100 OR SO FEET. ON HIGH BEAMS, ALMOST NOTHING AHEAD IS VISIBLE. SIMILAR EXPERIENCES HAVE BEEN EXPRESSED BY OTHER RAM PICKUP OWNERS. THESE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO POOR, I'M SHOCKED THEY HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR PUBLIC SALE. I HAVE MISSED SIDE ROADS AND DRIVEWAYS DUE TO THE POOR HEADLIGHTS. I'M FORCED TO SPEND SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS ON UPGRADED BULBS AND AFTER MARKET DRIVING LIGHTS. THE TRUCK IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AT NIGHT. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO REMEDY SUCH A SIGNIFICANT DEFICIENCY IN A $30K+ VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS TWO INCHES LOWER THAN THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS; HOWEVER THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER, WHO STATED THE VEHICLE WAS WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,000. UPDATED 09-18-13 *BF THE RIGHT REAR SHOCK WAS REPLACED.
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME, DRIVING ON MY STREET. AFTER I CAME TO A STOP ON MY CORNER I ACCELERATED TO GO THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WHEN THE TRUCK JUST TOOK OFF ON IT'S OWN. IT FELT LIKE SOMEBODY JUST SLAMMED ON THE GAS PEDAL. MY FIRST REACTION WAS TO SLAM ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. NOW I HAVE BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE TRUCK IS STILL WANTING TO TAKE OFF. BY NOW I'M IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE, BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE TRUCKS REAR TIRES BREAK LOOSE. SO NOW THE TRUCK IS DOING A BURNOUT. MY NEXT REACTION WAS TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL. ONCE I PUSHED THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL THE TRANSMISSION JERKED SO VIOLENTLY IT MADE THE TRUCK STALL. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK. THE DEALER HAS YET TO FIND WHY THIS HAPPENED. *TR
WHEN DRIVING IN THE SNOW AND SLUSH ROADS, WHEN THE TRUCK TURNS TO THE LEFT, THE FRONT WHEEL KICKS UP SNOW AND SLUSH TOWARDS THE TRANSMISSION. THIS RESULTS IN SNOW PACKING AROUND THE SHIFT LINKAGE. THE RESULT IS THE INABILITY TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. IT HAPPENED TO ME 3 DIFFERENT TIMES DURING THE SNOW STORM THAT NIGHT. I HAD TO CRAWL UNDER THE TRUCK TO CHIP AWAY AT THE BUILD-UP OF SNOW AND ICE. THIS WOULD SEEM TO BE A BIT OF A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. I MADE SEVERAL CALLS TO DODGE IN REFERENCE TO THIS AND THEY HAVEN'T HEARD ABOUT IT. I HAVE HEARD OF IT HAPPENING TO SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL. ANY INPUT ON THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *TR
STARTED VEHICLE AFTER I RAN ERRANDS AND GOT ABOUT 500 YARDS BEFORE VEHICLE DISPLAYED SERIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES INCLUDED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS RUNNING WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER CONTROL WAS SET TO OFF, DISPLAYING A WARNING THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WAS NOT LATCHED WHEN THE SEAT BELT WAS LATCHED, DISPLAYING A LOW ENGINE FUEL WARNING WHEN THERE WAS OVER HALF A TANK OF GAS, DISPLAYING A WARNING FOR LOW TIRE PRESSURE WHEN THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS OKAY. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT THE VEHICLE HAS ON OCCASION BEEN DIFFICULT TO START, ACTING AS IF IT WAS NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR THE BATTERY WAS LOW. EVENTUALLY THE VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD ENGAGE AFTER SEVERAL TURNS OF THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME SINCE PURCHASING THIS BRAND NEW VEHICLE THAT WE HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE FIRST TIME THE COMPUTER HAD TO BE REBOOTED IN THE VEHICLE. THIS TIME MAY REQUIRE THE SAME THING. WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE DEALERS SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, HE STATED THAT IT COULD BE POSSIBLE FOR THE COMPUTER TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE WHEN EXPERIENCING THIS TYPE OF COMPUTER MALFUNCTION. HE SAID THAT IT MIGHT REQUIRE THE DRIVER TO COAST TO A STOP. SEEMS AS IF THIS SCENARIO, WOULD POSE A SERIOUS DANGER OR THREAT TO BOTH THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AND SURROUNDING VEHICLES THAT COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR INJURY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, VISIBILITY WAS REDUCED DUE TO THE HEADLIGHTS BEING TOO DIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED BUT THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VISIBILITY BARELY IMPROVED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 707.
2012 DODGE RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND COMPUTER ASSEMBLY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE SEAT BELT, ABS, 4-WHEEL DRIVE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. *JB
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE VERY DIM. IT IS HARD TO SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. DEALER CLAIMS THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS IN THESE VEHICLES, BUT WILL THEN STATE THE PROBLEMS WERE FIXED IN THE 2013 MODEL.
THE ONLY WAY THE RADIO WILL GET RID OF THE STATIC IS TO PUSH ON THE BRAKE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE ENGAGED IN ECONOMY OR MULTIPLE DISPLACEMENT MODE, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIOLENTLY VIBRATE FOLLOWED BY A LOUD NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED HOWEVER, AN UPDATE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER LATER NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIBRATION WAS A NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE'S DESIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
I'VE A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE MANIFOLD FOR YEARS. I WENT TO DODGELAND IN COLUMBIA, SC AND WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. HOWEVER I READ MANY POST CONCERNING THE TICKING AND RECALL. IT WAS HAPPENING ON START UPS AND WOULD GO AHEAD, BUT NOT ITS TICKING ALL THE TIME.
SOMETIMES WHEN VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP IT FEELS AS THOUGH IT IS BEING REAR ENDED EVEN THOUGH NO ONE IS BEHIND IT.
WELL FOR STARTERS THE AIR BAG LIGHT COME. TOOK IT BACK THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG HAD A BOTTLE UNDER SEAT.OK WHATEVER THAN TIME GOES ON AIR BAG LIGHT STILL ON.TAKE IT BACK.THEY REPLACE THE AIR BAG BRAIN SO IM TOLD. LIGHTS OFF FOR ABOUT A COUPLE WEEKS.THEN COMES BACK ON. IM SO TRIED OF DEALING WITH THIS. AND THEN I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES WHICH GOT ROTATED LIKE THERE SUPPOSED TOO. THEY WORE OUT ON THE INSIDE. I WAS TOLD BY ONE PLACE IT NEED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT. SO I PROCEED TO GET ONE AND THEY HAD TOLD ME MY CAMBER ALIGNMENT BOLT WAS BENT AND IT NEED TO BE DEALT WITH A THE DEALER, BECAUSE IT COULD BE A DEFECT. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE SAID THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT AND IT WAS FIXED.I HOPE SO NEVER GOT IT CHECKED AGAIN. I DONT HOLD MY BREATHE FOR THAT. THEN MY SUSPENSION LEANS TO THE RIGHTSIDE JUST A LITTLE BUT NOTHINGS WRONGS SO IM TOLD BY THE DEALER. AND MY DASH LIGHTS USED TO COME ON AND FLASH AND THE RADIO WAS OVERHEATING HAD TO GET A NEW ON. KEEP IN MIND THE WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WHEN THIS ALL STARTED AND I BROUGHT BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 5 MILES ON IT FROM MY TEST DRIVE. AND IM THE ONLY OWNER AND ITS THREE YRS OLD NOW, WITH THE SAME CONTINUING PROBLEMS. THEY DEALER SAYS THERES NOTHING WRONG BS.....
THE TRUCK WAS PARKED THE NIGHT BEFORE AT APPROXIMATELY 7:15PM AND AT APPROXIMATELY 2:30AM MY WIFE WOKE TO SOMETHING POPPING OUTSIDE AND HER 2012 RAM WAS OUTSIDE ON FIRE. IT CAUGHT MY 2005 DODGE RAM 3500 ON FIRE ALSO, AND EVENTUALLY BURNT OUR HOME DOWN. *TR

THE CONTACT FELT LIKE HE WAS LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED BUT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO OPERATE IN THAT MANNER AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. Unknown this truck was not involved in an accident however it came close with steering /brakes the Engine Faulty Wiring Harness caused major issues it wasn’t until recently I saw a video of how to fix the problem you can view these videos online I will say Dodge is Responsible they did have buybacks this too I had No Knowledge of no recalls either however I recently address it to the dealership who sold me this truck the Service Manager told me it’s my issue not theirs they took care of it years ago this is the reason I am sending my complaint I was informed your department will look into this matter to get a resolution on this serious matter thank you. I have some photos the video would not download you can see it if you put 2012 Dodge Ram Engine Faulty Wire issues . Yes I spent $3000 for a mechanic to wire it this should had been fix by Dodge Chrysler not me and it still needs to be fix.
I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 59 IN HOUSTON FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, I NOTICED A HUMMING SOUND COMING FROM BELOW THE VEHICLE. I WAS EXITING 59 ONTO SAM HOUSTON TOLL ROAD, WHEN THE HUMMING STARTED AND THEN I HEARD A LOUD CRASH. I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, TO SEE IF I HAD HIT SOMETHING AND I SAW THE DRIVE SHAFT FLYING THROUGH THE AIR. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT I WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON SAM HOUSTON TOLL ROAD, JUST NORTH OF 59 AT 70 MILES AN HOUR, I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC, BUT AS SOON AS I WAS CLEAR OF TRAFFIC THE REAR END LOCKED UP COMPLETELY. IF THE BACK END HAD LOCKED UP A MINUTE BEFORE, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE EXIT FOR THE TOLL ROAD IS APPROX. 100+ FEET ABOVE THE LANE BELOW, AND WITH THE TRUCK SKIDDING OUT OF CONTROL I VERY EASILY COULD HAVE GONE OVER THE EDGE. ALSO, THE DRIVE SHAFT COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE AND WENT AIRBORNE. HAD THE DRIVE SHAFT HIT A CAR BELOW, OR NEXT TO ME THE DAMAGE WOULD HAVE BEEN HORRIFIC. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS THE ONLY PERSON INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ALSO STATED THAT NO FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED AND NOTICED THE HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED INADEQUATELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THE HEADLIGHTS FUNCTIONED AS DESIGNED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT TESTED OTHER MODEL YEAR VEHICLES AND THE SAME MODEL YEAR AND THE HEADLIGHT ILLUMINATION WAS BRIGHTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. UPDATED 12/20/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NO HEAD LIGHT FAILURE. IT WAS THE LACK OF BRIGHTNESS OF THE LOW AND HIGH BEAMS.
AT 4000 MILES I NOTICED A "POPPING" NOISE FROM THE DRIVERSIDE SUSPENSION. AT 8000 MILES THE NOISE WAS MUCH WORSE EVERY TIME I DRIVE OVER ROAD CRACKS, JOINTS, BUMPS ETC... IT WAS MORE SEVERE. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT I HAVE A DEFECTIVE SHOCK. IT HAS BEEN 10 DAYS SINCE I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE SHOP. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT APPEARS THE SHOCK IS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO DELIVERY DATE INSIGHT. AS A CONSUMER I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE IS NO FIX, NO AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT. WHEN I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP ON THE 2ND OF JULY THEY SAID I WAS THE FIRST ONE ON BACK ORDER. THERE IS NOW OVER 1600 ON BACK ORDER. SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. I AM FRUSTRATED THAT I AM PAYING 700.00 MO FOR A TRUCK I CANNOT DRIVE DUE TO A LACK OF PARTS. NOT TO MENTION CHRYSLER HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD A BUSINESS DEALING WITH. NEVER AGAIN CHRYSLER! *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HIGH BEAMS WERE VERY DIM. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TRAVELING APPROX 45MPH. ANOTHER DRIVER FAILED TO YIELD AND HIT MY VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT HEAD LIGHT. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS TRYING TO CROSS THE HIGHWAY GOING APPROX 15-25MPH. THE IMPACT WAS ALMOST A COMPLETE HEAD-ON COLLISION. THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE DID NOT DEPLOY. MY PASSENGER AND I WERE BOTH TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE AND LATER RELEASED BY THE HOSPITAL. *TR
I HAD MY FIRST BRAND NEW TRUCK FOR ONLY ABOUT A WEEK WHEN I NOTICED A SLAPPING TO THE FLOOR PAN ON DRIVERS SIDE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND AFTER MAKING THEM GO FOR A TEST DRIVE, THEY DECIDED TO CHECK INTO IT AND FOUND THE E BRAKE CABLE LOOSE. THEIR FIX WAS TO SIMPLY REROUTE IT. THREE DAYS LATER I GOT THE TRUCK BACK WITH IT STILL DOING IT. A WHILE LATER I TOOK IT BACK IN FOR THE SAME NOISE AND REMINDED THEM WHAT THEY DID. THEY STATED THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO WITH IT. NEXT ONE WON'T BE A DODGE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 9,000.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD OFTEN LOSE POWER OR WOULD BECOME UNRESPONSIVE TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED WHENEVER THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WAS ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,600.
I PURCHASE A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A PROBLEM WITH A VIBRATION AND A RUBBING SOUND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNDER 40 MPH. I HAVE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER 2 OR 3 TIMES AND THEY FIRST SAID THE TIRE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS CUPPING AND SEPARATING AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GOODYEAR DEALER (THE TIRES ARE GOODYEAR). THEY DIDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES AND ROTATE THE TIRES. ALL FOUR TIRES ARE WORN IN MIDDLE TREAD. SO, I KNOW SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE TWO FRONT AIRBAGS WHILE WATCHING THE CRASH TEST RATINGS. THE DRIVER COMPLETELY COLLAPSED THE BAG, HITTING HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE PASSENGER BAG WAS ABOVE AVERAGE BUT SEEMED TOO AGGRESSIVE CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO WHIP LASH BACK TOWARDS THE SEAT. HAVING DRIVEN DODGE PICKUPS SINCE 07 THERE HEADLIGHTS ARE HORRIBLE FOR DRIVING AT NIGHT. THEY NEED RECALLED AND ESPECIALLY UPTO 2014. THEY HAVE SLIGHTLY IMPROVED BUT ARE NO WHERE NEAR SAFE.

THE HORN WOULD ALSO SOUND INDEPENDENTLY ANY TIME THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING A TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION, OR WHEN A SLIGHT ROAD BUMP WAS DRIVEN OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,200.
POOR LIGHTING UNDER ANY CONDITIONS. LIGHTING IS NOT FOCUSED AND HAS LITTLE OR NO EFFECT ON ILLUMINATING THE DRIVE PATH. A STANDARD FLASH LIGHT PRODUCES MORE LIGHTING. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. ALL DODGE RAM OWNERS OF THIS YEAR HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT. *TR
THE DESIGN OF THE HEADREST IS BAD. IT FORCES YOU TO BEND YOUR NECK AS SUCH AN ANGLE THAT IT CAUSES EXTREME NECK AND UPPER BACK PAIN. I REALIZE THAT BY REMOVING THE HEAD REST I WILL NOT HAVE ANY WHIPLASH PROTECTION BUT I AM WILLING TO TAKE THAT CHANCE BECAUSE I AM IN PAIN EACH TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT EXHIBIT A FAILURE BUT THE ABNORMAL DECELERATION WAS A SAFETY FEATURE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT IF THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AND THE CONTACT EITHER APPLIED THE BRAKES, LIGHTLY TOUCHED OR CAME ANYWHERE NEAR THE BRAKES THEN THE VEHICLE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DECREASE IN SPEED. THIS SAFETY FEATURE WAS NOT RELAYED TO THE CONTACT PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PROPER USE OF THE SAFETY FEATURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2012 DODGE RAM WITH 4.7 LITRE ENGINE. NOTICED A GROUND OUT VIBRATION TYPE NOISE AT LOW SPEEDS AND AT IDLE IN GEAR AT STOP LIGHT THERE WAS A REALLY NOTICEABLE VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL. FOUND POWER STEERING PUMP TO BE LOOSE AND UNDER FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT THERE WERE NO THREADS IN MOUNTING BOLT HOLE AT THE 9:00 POSITION AND THE LOWER BOLT AT THE 6:00 POSITION IN THE END OF THE CYLINDER HEAD. THEREFORE THERE WAS ONLY ONE BOLT HOLDING ON THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND IT HAD LOOSENED UP AND NOW THE PUMP AND LINE WERE VIBRATING. VEHICLE IS BEING REPAIRED AT DEALERSHIP BY REPLACING THE CYLINDER HEAD. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT THE PLANT IN THIS CONDITION AND DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT OF LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. THIS SHOWS VERY POOR QUALITY CONTROL AT BOTH THE PLANT AND DEALERSHIP NEW VEHICLE PREP DEPARTMENT. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS COULD BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF VEHICLES WITH THIS ENGINE BUILT AT THIS TIME SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.
