THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONS SYSTEM WOULD NOT OPERATE. WINDOWS FOGGED UP AND DEFROSTER WOULD NOT OPERATE AT ALL. LOST COMPLETE VISIBILITY ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. HAD TO PULL OVER AND MANUALLY REMOVE FOG FROM INSIDE WINDOWS. HAD TO DO THIS NUMEROUS TIMES UNTIL ARRIVED AT HOME. IN SHOP NOW FOR REPAIRS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME WHAT CAUSED FAILURE. SUSPECT CONTROL HEAD FAILURE. *TR
I HAD PUT MY 2012 RAM 1500 INTO PARK AND WALKED UP THE SIDEWALK, HAPPENED TO LOOK OUT AND IT WAS MOVING AND I RAN TO GET INTO IT TRYING TO STOP IT FROM HITTING OR CRASHING INTO SOMETHING. I DIDN'T GET TO IT IN TIME AND I GOT PINNED BETWEEN THE VEHICLE AND THE HOUSE CAUSING ME TO BREAK MY TAILBONE AND PELVIS IN TWO PLACES. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND HAD SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID THIS IS LIKE THE 4TH ONE HE HAS FIXED DO TO IT POPPING OUT OF GEAR. *TR
2012 LARAMIE LONGHORN RAM 1500 4X4. NORMAL HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE SUFFICIENTLY. OWNER HAS NEARLY HIT A DEER THREE TIMES, AT APPROPRIATE HIGHWAY TRAVELING SPEEDS. IN ORDER TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, IN THE COUNTRY WHERE THE OWNER LIVES, THE OWNER HAS TO USE BOTH FOG LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS. BRIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD ON THEIR OWN. HEADLIGHTS DO NOT MEET SAFE DRIVING REQUIREMENTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DRIVER'S SIDE ENGINE EXHAUST MANIFOLD MADE A LOUD TICKING NOISE WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE MANIFOLD BOLT WAS FRACTURED. THE DRIVER'S SIDE MANIFOLD BOLT WAS REPLACED HOWEVER THE PASSENGER'S SIDE MANIFOLD BOLT LATER EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE. THE PASSENGER SIDE MANIFOLD BOLT WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,890.
I PURCHASED A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 FROM A USED DEALER ON JANUARY 21, 2012. THIS VEHICLE HAS BY FAR THE WORST HEADLIGHTS OF ANY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. ON THE LOW BEAMS WITH THE FOG LIGHTS OFF THE LIGHT FROM MY HEADLAMPS ILLUMINATES THE ROAD ONLY ABOUT 30 TO 40 FEET IN FRONT OF ME. THERE IS ALSO A VERY DARK AREA FROM THE BUMPER OUT TO ABOUT 20 FEET. THE HIGH BEAMS DO NOT CAST LIGHT MUCH FURTHER BUT ARE WIDER. HOWEVER WITH THIS WIDER LIGHT PATTERN THE OVERALL BRIGHTNESS IS EVEN WORSE. THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES THIS VEHICLE DRIVE-ABLE AT NIGHT ARE THE FOG LIGHTS THAT AT LEAST FILL IN THE DARK AREA IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE THAT EXISTS WITH THE LOW BEAMS. IN THE ALMOST TWO MONTHS THAT I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE I HAVE ONLY USED THE HIGH BEAMS A HANDFUL OF TIMES. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER GROUP LLC. AND THEY HAVE ADVISED ME THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT THEY PLAN TO ADDRESS EVEN THOUGH IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I WORK THIRD SHIFT AND DO THE MAJORITY OF MY DRIVING IN RURAL AREAS AT NIGHT AND DURING LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS IN THE MORNINGS. I SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH WILL SHOW THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE AND MANY OWNERS OF 4TH GENERATION RAMS (2009-2014) FEEL THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ON THESE VEHICLES ARE LESS THAN ADEQUATE. MY VEHICLE IS A 390HP 4700LB VEHICLE, MY FEAR IS THAT IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME TILL THESE HEADLIGHT CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT BE CAUSE I SIMPLY COULD NOT CLEARLY SEE WHAT WAS IN FRONT OF ME. *TR
DODGE RAM LARAMIE1500 4X4 CREW CAB BUILT IN JUNE 2012 HAS FACTORY 20X9 ALUMINUM CHROME CLAD WHEELS WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER HP P275/60R20 TIRES. PROBLEM WITH THIS IS THE SPARE TIRE & THE FACTORY JACK. HAD A REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLOW OUT AND HAD TO JACK THE TRUCK TO FIX THE FLAT. FIRST, THE SPARE TIRE SIZE IS P235/85R17, MY WHEELS ARE 20" RIMS AND 1-1/4 HIGHER OVER ALL. THIS TRUCK HAS THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) WHICH STATES TO HAVE THE PROPER SIZE RIMS & TIRES AS THIS SYSTEM MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT SIZES. SECONDLY, THE JACK DODGE PROVIDES CAN'T HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THESE TRUCKS. THIS JACK COLLAPSED SOON AFTER RAISING THE FLAT TRUCK TIRE 1-2" OFF THE GROUND, THE WORM GEAR LOOKS LIKE A U-BOLT. CALLED BOTH THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM IN DECEMBER 2012 AND DODGE. NEITHER IS WILLING TO HELP REMEDY THESE PROBLEMS. DODGE DID HAVE A RECALL 12V192000 JAN 5TH 6TH 2012 FOR THE SPARE TIRE NOT BEING SIZED CORRECTLY. IS THIS NOT THE SAME CASE? *TR

THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY RELATED ISSUE OF THE POTENTIAL FAILURE TO THE DRIVER SIDE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY LEAD TO A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THIS COULD CAUSE A POTENTIAL FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION; HOWEVER, NO DIAGNOSIS WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THERE ARE NO FAILURES AT THIS TIME.
I PURCHASED A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK WITH SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 36000 MILES. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS GOING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY THUS INDICATING THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT BE DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. I TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO AN AUTHORIZED DODGE DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT SEEMS AT THIS POINT IT IS FINALLY FIXED (IT SOMETIMES TAKES 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE THE PROBLEM RECURS). THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY INDICATED THAT THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD BEEN HARDWIRED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THIS WAS THE FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME BY CHRYSLER, AND THIS WAS VERIFIED BY CHRYSLER CORP. THERE ARE MANY SUCH COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT FEEL THAT MOST INDIVIDUALS KNOW WHERE TO REPORT FAULTY PROBLEMS IN ORDER TO FORCE A CHANGE. I SPENT APPROXIMATELY $2000. I AM SURE IF THE DEALERSHIP HAD NOT STEPPED INTO HELP THAT THE BILL WOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSER TO $4500. CORRESPONDING WITH CHRYSLER PROVED TO BE FRUSTRATING. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT AFTER I FELT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED I SHOULD FAX THE BILLS TO THEM. THE DEALERSHIP EVEN TRIED TO GET THEM TO PAY FOR THE PARTS. I JUST RECEIVED AN PHONE MESSAGE FROM THEM INDICATING THE PROBLEM IS FIXED, AND CASE WILL BE CLOSED. THERE WAS NO REFERENCE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. OF COURSE, I WILL WRITE THEM BACK. I THINK WHAT BOTHERED ME MOST WAS THAT WHEN I INFORMED THEM THAT THERE WERE COMPLAINTS ON-LINE AND AN ARTICLE FROM UPI INDICATING NHTSA HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, I WAS TOLD THAT WE DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. I AM CONCERNED THAT INDIVIDUALS MAY NOT REALIZE THAT IF THE LIGHT IS ON THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. NOTE: THE LIGHT WENT ON AT VARIOUS SPEEDS FROM 10-70 MPH. *TR

THIS VEHICLE WITH A 36 GALLON GAS TANK MAKES A THUMP NOISE A FEW SECONDS AFTER THE VEHICLE STOPS WHEN THE TANK IS BETWEEN APPROXIMATELY 1/4 AND 3/4 FULL. WHEN FILLED THE NOISE STOPS OR WHEN GAS IS BELOW 1/4. THE DEALER CHANGED A PART IN THE LOWER STEERING COLUMN AS THAT WAS THEIR DIAGNOSIS AND SAID A PART WAS FOUND WORN BUT THE NOISE STILL EXISTS AND IS COMMONLY FOUND ON THE INTERNET RAM FORUMS FOR THESE VEHICLES WITH THIS SIZE GAS TANK.
AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS GO OUT WHILE RIDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. OCCURS IN COLD WEATHER MORE THAN WARM WEATHER DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND PROBLEM NEVER HAPPENS WHEN TAKEN IN.
BRAKES MUSHY, GO ALL WAY TO FLOOR, WHEN TRYING TO PUMP BRAKES TRUCK TAKES OFF KNOCKING 79 YEAR OLD WOMAN TO THE GROUND HURTING HER. TOOK TO DODGE DEALERSHIP THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. IT DID IT AGAIN TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DODGE DEALERSHIP, THEY SUGGESTED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DODGE DEALERSHIP. TOTAL TIMES OF IT HAPPENING 6 TIMES WITH THE LAST TIME TRUCK SHUTTING ITSELF OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. BACKUP DISPLAY IS FREEZING UP AND TELLING TO GET OUT TO LOOK WHEN NOTHING IS THERE. DEALERSHIP JAMES HODGE MOTOR CO. THINKS IT THE COMPUTER BOARD BUT THEY DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, BECAUSE THERE'S NO RECALL FOR WHAT'S HAPPENING. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND SOMETHING ON THE BRAKES, WHEN I WENT BACK TO PRINT IT OUT, THE ARTICLE WAS NOT THERE ANYMORE. I WAS EXITING THE HWY AT ABOUT 80 KM/H WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AND I FELT THE GAS PEDAL DISAPPEAR UNDER MY FOOT. I WAS NOT USING CRUISE CONTROL, THE WEATHER WAS NORMAL AND ROADS WERE DRY. THE TRUCK ACCELERATED UP TO 120KM/H ALL ON ITS ON VERY QUICKLY AND MY REACTION WAS TO BRAKE, WITH BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE I WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY TRYING TO SLOW DOWN, LUCKILY THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME FOR A FEW HUNDRED YARDS. I THEN STARTED GEARING DOWN TO TRY AND SLOW DOWN WHICH WORKED BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL GOING FULL THROTTLE, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THERE WAS A CHIME AND THE ETC WARNING LIGHT CAME ON TO THE RIGHT OF THE SPEEDOMETER (A RED LIGHTENING BOLT) THIS WENT ON FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN OUT OF NO WHERE JUST STOPPED AND THE GAS PEDAL LET UP AND THE TRUCK DROVE NORMALLY AFTER THAT. DODGE DEALER SAID THE ONLY CODE THAT CAME UP WAS FOR DRIVING WITH THE BRAKE AND GAS AT THE SAME TIME AND SAID IT WAS PROBABLY MY DRIVING THAT CAUSED IT AND OTHER THAN THAT THE TRUCK IS FINE. I USE THE SAME FOOT FOR THE BRAKE AND GAS AND ONLY DID THAT AT THE TIME TO SLOW DOWN. *TR
REAR SEAT SEAT BELTS ARE INOPERABLE. POOR/FAULTY DESIGN. LOWER HALF OF REAR SEAT RAISES/LOWERS FOR STORAGE. THE BUCKLE END OF THE BELT IS NOT ACCESSABLE DUE TO POOR DESIGN. THIS MAKE THE BACK SEAT NOT HAVE FUNCTIONING SEAT BELTS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN BACK TO DEALER. WITH GREAT EFFORT THEY CAN FISH OUR THE BUCKLES, BUT AS SOON AS THE SEAT IS MOVED THEY ARE NO LONGER ACCESSABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE PARKED THE VEHICLE AND APPLIED THE PARKING BRAKE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A LARGE BODY OF WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,500.
THE RAM1500 WAS BEING STARTED AND PUT IN REVERSE THEN DRIVE AND IT MAKES A GRINDING NOISE. STARTED GETTING WORSE AND FAMILY MEMBERS WOULD NOTICE THE NOISE WHEN LEAVING THEIR HOMES. THEN ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO (JUNE 2015) WE TOOK IT IN TO DODGE AND THEY HEARD THE PROBLEM AND SAID THEY HAD CONTACTED THE ENGINEERS AND JUST KEEP AN EYE ON IT. NO FIXING OF ANY KIND. NOW EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, AS IT SHIFTS GEARS IT CLONKS INTO GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ALWAYS SHIFT PROPERLY. IT STAYS IN A GEAR LONGER THAN IT SHOULD. YOU CAN HEAR THE GEARS NOT PROPERLY SHIFTING. THE BRAKES ON THE TRUCK DONT SEEM TO STOP FAST ENOUGH. TAKING TRUCK IN FOR THAT NEXT WEEK.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE ENGINE SUDDENLY DIES. ALL POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC ARE GONE. I HAVE TO COAST TO A STOP AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2012. ONE DAY IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN SUCCESSION. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON JUNE 5, 2014. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING AS THEY CAN NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE WHILE IT IS IN THE SHOP. I AM VERY CONCERNED AS THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CURRENT HUGE GM RECALL INVOLVING FAULTY IGNITION SWITCHES . I PULL A TRAVEL TRAILER WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE TO HAVE HAPPENING. UP UNTIL NOW IT HAS NOT HAPPENED WHILE TOWING THE TRAILER BUT I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. *JS
AT ABOUT 18000 MILES ON VEHICLE IT SUDDENLY STALLED. THROTTLE BODY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, RPM DROPPED TO ALMOST ZERO. PUMPING GAS PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT. CONDITION LASTED ABOUT 15 TO 25 SECONDS. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALER AND WAS INFORMED IT NEEDED A THROTTLE BODY SOFTWARE UPDATE. THIS WAS DONE. ALSO WAS PERFORMED AGAIN LATER. THE STALLING IS INTERMITTENT SOME TIMES NOT HAPPENING FOR WEEKS THEN AGAIN IT WILL HAPPEN UP TO 3 TIMES IN A WEEK.BIT ONCE STALLED ON MY LADY AS SHE WAS CROSSING AN INTERSECTION . VEHICLE NOW HAS 77000 MILES ON ODOMETER . I THOUGHT THIS JUST A HASSLE UNTIL ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO. AS I WAS MERGING ON TO THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 65 MPH IN FRONT OF A BIG TRUCK THE VEHICLE STALLED FOR A LONG PERIOD. THE BIG RIG WAS WITHIN A VERY FEW FEET OF MY VEHICLE BEFORE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING AGAIN. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS SCARED ME BIG TIME. THIS WAS WHEN I STARTED TO LOOK FOR SOMEONE TO BE IN MY CORNER ON THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED BY DODGE DEALERSHIP REGULARLY SINCE NEW. EACH TIME I HAVE REPORTED STALLS AND AT ONE TIME HAD A CASE OPENED WITH CHRYSLER. I AM TOLD THEY FIND NOTHING AND THEY ONLY HAVE MY WORD THIS IS HAPPENING. THIS FROM DEALER AND CHRYSLER

THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG HAD BEEN UN-PLUGGED AND WEIGHT SENSOR HAD BEEN REMOVED. THE TECHNICIAN DECIDED TO RESET THE AIR BAG LIGHT, HOWEVER, THE WEIGHT SENSOR WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAMPERED WITH. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WOULD BE FIXED. THE RIGHT HEADLIGHT ON MY 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 FAILED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE USES SEPARATE LOW AND HIGH BEAM BULBS. TEST SHOWED THAT BOTH LOW AND HIGH BEAM WERE AFFECTED ON THE FAILED SIDE. I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE TRUCK USED. WHEN I CALLED THE PREVIOUS OWNER HE INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AT DIFFERENT TIMES WITH EACH HEADLIGHT. HE HAD SIMPLY UNPLUGGED AND REPLUGGED THE HEADLIGHT CONNECTORS TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM. I REMOVED THE FAILED RIGHT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. TEST SHOWED THAT MANIPULATING THE WIRES (PUSH, PULL, STRESS TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER) COMING INTO THE MALE SIDE OF THE CONNECTOR COULD CAUSE THE HEADLIGHT WORK OR FAIL. I PERFORMED A SIMILAR TEST ON THE (WORKING) LEFT SIDE HEADLIGHT WITH THE SAME RESULTS - I COULD FORCE FAILURE AT WILL, EVEN THOUGH THE CONNECTOR WAS FULLY ASSEMBLED AND LOCKED. UPON INSPECTION OF THE CONNECTORS, BOTH APPEARED CLEAN INSIDE. I SPRAYED EACH WITH CONTACT CLEANER ANYWAY, AND REASSEMBLED ONLY TO FIND THE SAME PROBLEM. MANIPULATING THE PINS ON THE FEMALE SIDE OF THE CONNECTOR IN EFFORT TO INCREASE CONTACT PRESSURE RESULTED IN NO IMPROVEMENT WHEN THE CONNECTOR WAS REPLUGGED. AS A FORMER FAILURE ANALYSIS ENGINEER I CAN TELL YOU THAT THERE IS A DESIGN / APPLICATION PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT CONNECTORS USED ON THIS TRUCK. SHORT OF CONTACT PLATING ANALYSIS, IT APPEARS THERE IS INSUFFICIENT CONTACT AREA AND / OR CONTACT PRESSURE ON THE SMALL PINS USED. AS A WORK-AROUND, I USED LONG NOSE PLIERS TO REACH INSIDE THE MALE CONNECTOR BODY, AND TWISTED THE SMALL, FLAT, MALE PINS APPROXIMATELY 45 DEGREES TO INCREASE CONTACT PRESSURE. AFTER REASSEMBLING BOTH CONNECTORS IN THIS MANNER, I CAN NO LONGER FORCE FAILURE ON EITHER SIDE. THE STOCK HEADLIGHT CONNECTORS USED ON THIS TRUCK PRESENT A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW AND SAFETY ISSUE SINCE AS DESIGNED, HEADLIGHT FAILURE MAY OCCUR AT ANY TIME. *JS
THE TRANSMISSION UPON START UP WAS LOCKED IN 4TH GEAR. THIS IS THE THIRD EVENT OF THIS TYPE. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED THE TRANSMISSION RESET AFTER I PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT. A TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP UNCOVERED NOTHING. THE SECOND TIME WAS ANOTHER COLD START EVENT WITH THE TRANSMISSION LOCKEDN 4TH GEAR. IT TOOK SEVERAL RESTARTS TO RESET BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED. ANOTHER TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CAUSE WAS STATED TO BE THE SOLENOID PACK IN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS WAS REPAIRED AND ALL SEEMED FINE. YESTERDAY ANOTHER COLD START AND THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED IN 4TH. I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP IN 4TH GEAR. ON THE WAY I MONITORED THE TRANS TEMP. IT STAYED AT 86 DEGREES. THE OUTSIDE TEMP WAS 91 DEGREES. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE DEALERSHIP A MECHANIC WENT WITH ME ON A TEST DRIVE. WE RETURNED TO THE SHOP AND HE BEGAN A DIAGNOSTIC. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ON. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY BELIEVED THERE WAS A WIRING HARNESS ISSUE AND THEY WOULD ORDER ONE AND REPLACE IT. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT HE DID SOMETHING AND THE TRANS TEMP JUMPED FROM 86 DEGREES TO 160+. THERE WERE SEVERAL FAULT CODES FOUND DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP BEING REPAIRED. THE TUCK HAS LESS THAN 7,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS THE 4.7 ENGINE. THE FIRST EVENT WAS IN JUNE 2013, THEN TWICE IN AUGUST 2013.
