TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT ROLLED OVER THE CONTACT'S FOOT, CRASHED INTO A TREE IN A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT, AND STRUCK A CONCRETE PILLAR. A BYSTANDER NOTICED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER HAD SHIFTED OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THERE WOULD BE NO SEGREGATION. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ON A RAINY DAY WITH WIPERS ON, SUDDENLY THEY FREEZE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND DO NOT RESPOND TO ON/OFF OR THE DIFFERENT LEVELS, THEY SIT STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. AFTER ROUGHLY 10 MINUTES I TURN THEM ON TO FULL SPEED AND THEY WORK, BUT THE HOMING POSITION NOW HAS THEM SITTING STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN (THINK OF SCHOOL BUS), INSTEAD OF LAYING DOWN PER USUAL. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND FORUMS ALL AROUND HAVE COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE, SOME WORSE SOME NOT. THE WIPERS FREEZING COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT HAD INCLEMENT WEATHER BEEN AN ISSUE OR THE RAIN WAS COMING DOWN HARDER DECREASING VISIBILITY.
MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN MY TRUCK WILL SHUT OFF AND RESTART 1 TO 2 TIMES WHILE DRIVING ALL THE GAUGES GO DOWN AND CAN'T TELL ANYTHING TILL IT TURNS BACK ON ALSO IT WILL INTERMITTENTLY FLICKER FROM THE BACKLIGHTING MAKING GAGE VISIBILITY HARD
RECEIVED MAILING STATING MY AIR BAGS MAY BE DEFECTIVE. TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS. WOULD LIKE REPLACE IF DEFECTIVE.
WHEN I PURCHASED IN OCTOBER 2017 , I DROVE THE TRUCK FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS WHEN MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND ALSO THE SEAT BELT SIGNAL CAME ON BROUGHT IT TO DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD I MUST PAY OUT OF POCKET, I RESPECTFULLY TOLD THEM THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET THAT THERE IS A MALFUNCTION AND THEY SHOULD FIX IT NO RESPONSE AND CHARGED ME TO LOOK AT IT AS I SAT FOR 2 HOURS....
THE COMPLAINT HAD TO DO WITH THE COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING. ON THE MORNING OF OCTOBER 30 WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMED TO LOCK IN PLACE FOR A SPLIT SECOND AND THEN NO POWER STEERING, I WAS LUCKY TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AND NOT IN A CURVE, I WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY PULL OF TO THE SIDE. HAD THIS BEEN IN TRAFFIC AND OR A CURVE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS OF MYSELF AND ANY NEARBY DRIVERS.
LIFTERS FAILED AT 129,000 MILES. CAR BEGAN TO MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 5. REPLACES LIFTERS AND STILL GOT MISFIRE CODE AND TERRIBLE RUNNING CONDITIONS. IT WOULD HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DURING ACCELERATION FROM 60MPH AND ABOVE. TRUCK WOULD OBVIOUSLY MISFIRE, VIBRATE A LOT FROM THE ENGINE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD APPEAR IMMEDIATELY AND WAS ALMOST NOT DRIVABLE. AND THIS ONLY HAPPENS RANDOMLY. ONE DAY IT RUNS FINE. THEN THE PROBLEM WOULD APPEAR AND NOT GO AWAY. IT'S FRUSTRATING AND COSTLY AND CHRYSLER HASN'T REVISED OR ADDRESSED THE ISSUE AT ALL. PARTS THAT WERE POSSIBLY DAMAGED: VALVES, VALVE SEATS, LIFTERS, CAMSHAFT, VALVE SPRINGS, ROCKER ARM, PISTONS, HEADS.
AS SOON AS I START THE ENGINE, A LOUD TICKING NOISE IS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. AFTER INSPECTING IT, I HAVE BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT THAT CAUSES EXHAUST TO EXIT AT THE HEAD. THE EXHAUST ESCAPES BEFORE IT REACHES THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE MUFFLER THUS CAUSING THE LOUD NOISE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE RAM HEMI ENGINES. IT IS COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "HEMI TICK". ALTHOUGH THIS HAS BEEN A WIDELY KNOWN ISSUE, RAM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING 35MPH, THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. MY WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS NOT LONGER STRAIGHT. I WENT TO A ALIGNMENT SHOP AND THE TECH SAID THE RACK AND PINION IS NO GOOD, THE BUSHINGS ARE WORN AND THEY CAN NOT ALIGN THE VEHICLE. RACK AND PINION BOLTS ARE NOT STRAIGHT. BUSHINGS ARE WORN. PICTURES ARE ATTACHED.
ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP, THE ENGINE STALLS. A MESSAGE DISPLAYS TO "PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, TO START", BUT LOST POWER TO EVERYTHING ELSE. TWICE IT ALLOWED ME TO START FROM PARK, THE 3RD TIME IT WOULD NOT START. I PUT IT IN PARK, HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, BUT IT DID NOTHING. I SHUT IF OFF COMPLETELY, THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT STARTED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE PARKED, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK WITH THE KEYFOB. ALL OTHER DOORS UNLOCKED, NOT THE DRIVER'S DOOR. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES LOCKING/UNLOCKING, I HAD TO OPEN THE REAR DOOR AND MANUALLY PULL THE LOCK KNOB. ONE OTHER TIME, WHILE SITTING STILL, THE DRIVER'S DOOR UNLOCKED ITSELF, WHEN MY ROOMMATE PULLED ON THE DOOR HANDLE, THE DOOR OPENED AND THE ALARM WENT OFF. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, I WAS TRYING TO BACK INTO MY PARKING SPACE, I WENT TO PULL UP TO STRAIGHTEN OUT, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE. I HAD TO SHIFT INTO PARK, THEN BACK TO DRIVE TO MAKE IT WORK.
RANDOMLY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL GO BLANK. SOMETIMES CHECK ABS SYSTEM, SOMETIMES CHECK TRANSMISSION SHIFTER , SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE . THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR THE LAST4 MONTHS. I CAN NOT FIGURE ANY PATTERN WHEN IT HAPPENS.SPEEDOMETER AND RPM GUAGES WILL SOMETIMES STOP[ WORKING AND THE OTHER GUAGES WILL WORK
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET AT 45 MPH AND MY POWER STEERING SUDDENLY FAILED CAUSING MY STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP. THE STEERING WAS SO LOCKED UP I HAD TO PUT ALL MY STRENGTH INTO PULLING OVER ONTO A SIDE STREET. I HAD TO DRIVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANES AND PARK ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. AFTER SEVERAL GOOGLE SEARCHES MY VEHICLE A 2013 DODGE RAM 1500 HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AND AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MODULE HAD FAILED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED COMPLETELY. THAT ONE PIECE COSTING $1700. MY TRUCK STILL HAS POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AND EXTENDED "LIMITED" WARRANTY THAT DOES NOT COVER THE COST OR THE LABOR FOR THE FIX. AFTER SEARCHING THE WEB SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD RECALLED. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND I WAS ABOUT TO HIT THE HIGHWAY GOING SPEEDS OF 70-75 MPH. I'M JUST GLAD IT HAPPENED TO ME IN THE AREA IT DID. SO THE TOTAL COST OF LABOR AND REPAIR AT MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP IS $2500! I'M IN NO FINANCIAL SITUATION TO AFFORD THIS. DODGE HAS TO HAVE KNOWN THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND FOR YOUR POWER STEERING TO LOCK UP PEOPLES LIVES ARE AT STAKE AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE OR INVESTIGATED. IN THE MEAN TIME MY RAM TRUCK THAT IS ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD WILL BE AT THE DEALERSHIP UNTIL I CAN FIND A WAY TO PAY FOR THIS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. EPS FAILURE - AN INDICATOR LIGHT THAT IS NOT IN THE MANUAL MIND YOU, SUDDENLY APPEARED AND THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. OCCASIONALLY THE LIGHT WILL CUT OFF AND IT WILL WORK AGAIN FOR A SHORT TIME THEN CUT BACK ON. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SO THE TRUCK IS UNDRIVABLE. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ON SOME 2015 AND 16 MODELS BUT NOT 2013. I ASK THAT MINE BE INCLUDED. TO SERVICE THIS WILL COST $2300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 85 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED WALLACE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 2755 SE FEDERAL HWY STUART, FL 34994) AND SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 32212838. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,484.
ALL STEERING WHEEL ELECTRICAL FUNCTION NOT WORKING,INCLUDING HORN,AIR CAN NOT DEPLOY, VEHICLE HAD THIS ISSUE WHEN NEW AND CLOCK SPRING AND WIRING WAS REPLACED 3 YEARS AGO, THEN RECALL WAS DONE FOR AIR BAG AND NOW THE SAME PROBLEM. LAST WEEK ALMOST INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT AND COULD NOT USE HORN TO ALERT OTHER DRIVER. CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTIONS ALSO DO NOT OPERATE, I AM AFRAID TO LET WIFE DRIVE WITH KIDS SINCE AIR BAG WILL NOT FUNCTION IF ACCIDENT HAPPENS.
I WAS A PASSANGER IN THE TRUCK DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WE TURNED RIGHT .. THE TRUCK SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR .. I HEARD THE TRUCK REV UP CAUSE THE DRIVER HAD HIS FOOT ON THE GAS AS NOTHING HAD HAPPENED .. BOTH HIS HANDS WERE ON THE STEERING WHEEL SO AT NO TIME DID HE TURN THE DIAL SHIFTING GEARS .. THE TRANSMISSION DID THAT MYSTERIOUSLY ON ITS OWN .. WHEN IT DID HAPPEN I LOOKED AT THE SHIFTER INDICATOR LIGHT AND IT SAID IT WAS IN PARK .: WE WERE DOING ABOUT 15 MILES A HOUR SO NO WAY WAS IT IN PARK ! AT THAT POINT THE DRIVER TUNED THE DIAL SHIFTER BACK TO DRIVE AND IT WENT BACK INTO GEAR .. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY 16,000 MILES ON IT .. IT'D STILL BRAND NEW .. THE DRIVER TOLD ME IT'S HAPPENED BEFORE AND HE WORRIED HE WILL BE ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 55 MPH WHEN IT DOES CAUSING A ACCIDENT . THIS IS PROBABLY SOME SORT OF COMPUTER PROBLEM SINCE THESE NEW TRUCKS HAVE TRANSMISSIIONS THAT ARE RUN BY COMPUTER AND NOT THE MANUAL SHIFTER CABLE LIKE THE OLD DAYS .. OF COURSE THE DEALER DENIED ANYTHING HAS HAOPEND AND BLAMED THE DRIVER .. AS IN MOST CAR MANUFACTURER RECALLS,,, IT TAKES SEVERAL PEOPLE TO DIE FROM ACCIDENTS BEFORE THEY ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM . THIS DODGE RAM TRUCK SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR IS A PROBLEM AS YOU CAN LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET AND SEE ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ANY SPEED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND RADIO GOES COMPLETELY OUT. THE SYSTEMS REBOOTS (INSTRUMENT CLUSTER) ITSELF AS IF ITS IS BEING STARTED UP FOR. THIS PROBLEM IS AN REOCCURRING PROBLEM AND WILL HAPPEN AT ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING EVERYTHING TO GO BLANK.
I HAVE HAD THE RAM TRUCK IN 3 TIMES WITHIN 30 DAYS AND THE DEALER CANT REPAIR THE TROUBLE AND HAVE ASKED ME TO CALL CHRYSLER AND TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER. I HAVE DONE SO BUT IM TRYING TO FIND OUT ANY ISSUES WITH THE ECODISEL MOTOR. MY RESALE VALUE HSA BEEN CUT BY 50% OR BETTER BECAUSE OF THIS.

DODGE RAM 1500 STRUT - FRONT ARE LEAKING AFTER JUST 3 YEARS-THIS WAS FOUND DURING MY PENNA STATE INSPECTION.
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) FAILED WITHOUT WARNING JULY 7, 2017AT 28559 MILES WHILE TRAVELING AT 55MPH. THE VEHICLE BECAME DANGEROUSLY DIFFICULT TO STEER ALMOST RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. OUT OF WARRANTY THE REPAIR COST WAS $2175
I WAS AT A DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ON JULY 6, 2017 AND ASKED ABOUT A TICKING NOISE I WAS HEARING. THE SERVICE WRITER EXPLAINED THAT THE NOISE WAS THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. AFTER THE MECHANIC CHECKED HE CONFIRMED IT WAS THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE WRITER THAT THERE WAS A BROKEN BOLT AND AN EXHAUST LEAK ON BOTH SIDES. I CALLED FIAT CHRYSLER AMERICA AND THEY CONTACTED THE SERVICE WRITER AT THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER THE REPRESENTATIVE SPOKE TO THE SERVICE WRITER SHE TOLD ME I SHOULD PAY THE $423 (APPROX) COST TO HAVE IT REPAIRED SINCE THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY OTHER RECOURSE. I WAS SURPRISED THAT AFTER I EXPLAINED THAT THE SERVICE WRITER SAID THIS WAS HAPPENING ON ALL RAM TRUCKS THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY RESPONSE OTHER THAN SAYING IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY. THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A BROKEN BOLT AND THE SERVICE WRITER SAID IT WAS ON ALL RAM TRUCKS THAT THEY SHOULD ADDRESS IT DUE TO DEFECTIVE MATERIALS. I JUST WANT THEM TO ACCEPT THAT IT IS DEFECTIVE MATERIALS AND FIX THIS ISSUE.
JUST OUT OF "DODGE WARRANTY" MY 3RD BRAKE LIGHT TOOK IN WATER. THIS RESULTED IN A BLOWN 3RD BRAKE LIGHT BULB AND NOW LEAKING OF WATER INTO MY BACK WINDOW AND DOWN INTO THE SIDE BEHIND THE COVER IN MY TRUCK. THIS IS WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. RISK OF MOLD AND 3RD BRAKE LIGHT NOW NOT WORKING. THE BACK WINDOW IS SOLID NEVER DAMAGED OR REPLACED. THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT COVER WAS NEVER TAKEN OFF OR REPLACED. ALL MANUFACTURER RESPONSIBLY AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT DUE TO OUT OF DODGE WARRANTY. THIS TRUCK IS A 2013 DODGE RAM WITH 41,000 MILES ON IT. NEVER IN A ACCIDENT OR ANY PROBLEMS EXCEPT DODGE RECALLS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CAUTION INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND, AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE, THE ESC WARNING INDICATOR ALSO ILLUMINATED. APPROXIMATELY 10:30 AM ON JUNE 29, 2017, A PLUNGER LIFT EMPLOYEE WAS ON A XTO LOCATION WHEN HE WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR MVA. THE EMPLOYEE WAS HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH A XTO FIELD FOREMAN WHEN THEY BOTH NOTICE HIS BACK UP LIGHTS CAME ON AND STARTED ROLLING ON ITS OWN BACKWARDS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK POSITION. THE EMPLOYEE'S TRUCK IMPACTED THE XTO FIELD FOREMAN'S TRUCK RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES.
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL BEARING WAS INIQUITOUSLY GREASED AT TIME OF MANUFACTURE, CAUSING FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING,AND THE FRONT WHEEL CAME OFF, DAMAGING THE UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS,BREAK CALIPER,ROTOR, HUB AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO GO OUT OF CONTROL WITH NO BREAKS. I HAVE OBSERVED SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON MAKEITSAFER.COM ,THIS IS A LIE SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY. FORTUITOUSLY IT HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET AT 35 MPH, WITH NO WARNING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, WATER LEAKED INTO THE REAR CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. SUNSET CHRYSLER OF GRENADA, MISSISSIPPI COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE SOURCE OF THE WATER ENTRY, BUT STATED THAT THE WATER MAY HAVE COME FROM A LOOSE LIGHT FIXTURE IN THE VEHICLE. The contact called on behalf of his daughter who owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V459000 (Air Bags) and was repaired under recall. The contact stated that after the recall repair, the Cruise Control would inadvertently activate or deactivate intermittently. The contact stated the remedy included tying and rerouting the wires so that other essential wiring could not disconnect and cause additional failures. The owner informed the contact that the speedometer failed intermittently, and the transmission failed to shift properly while driving. The contact stated that the failures had become more persistent over time. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness inside the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS I'VE NOTICED EITHER DRIVE TRAIN SURGING OR BRAKE FAILURE AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE PARKING - THE TRUCK SEEMS TO LURCH FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL OVER A FEW SECONDS OR POSSIBLE SHIFT ISSUES WHILE PARKING BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO PURPOSELY DUPLICATE IT. TONIGHT WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH I SLOWED BEHIND A VEHICLE MAKING A TURN WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKING. I BACKED OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND REAPPLIED PRESSURE (MAYBE RAPIDLY A FEW TIMES - NOT SURE) RESULTING IN SOME BRAKING AND SOME SQUEALING THAT SOUNDED LIKE TIRES SKIDDING ALTHOUGH THE SLOWING WAS GRADUAL AND NOT ABRUPT. I MADE THE TURN BEHIND THE OTHER VEHICLE AND DROVE ABOUT ANOTHER 1/4 MILE HOME WITH NO OTHER PROBLEMS AND NORMAL BRAKE ACTION. I'VE NOTICED THAT OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS THERE'S A VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING WHICH MAY BE RELATED. THE TRUCK HAS ABOUT 85,000 MILES ON IT, OEM BRAKES AND NO PROBLEMS NOTED DURING VEHICLE INSPECTION AT 80K SERVICE. THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR IS FULL. MOST OF MY DRIVING IS HIGHWAY COMMUTING WITH RELATIVELY LITTLE BRAKING.

I HAVE A DODGE RAM 15000 CREW CAB LARAMIE. BOTH TAIL LIGHTS ARE MALFUNCTIONING IN THE BLINKERS. AS I'M DRIVING, ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ON MY DASH SHUT DOWN AND THEN COME BACK ON ONE AT A TIME WITHIN A MINUTE. ONCE AGAIN, THE ENGINE WAS OFF AND, ONCE AGAIN, IT STOPPED. THE NEXT MORNING MY BATTERY WAS DEAD. I TRIED TO JUMP IT WITH NO LUCK SO I PURCHASED E NEW BATTERY. NOW WHEN I TRY TO START IT, THE STARTER MAKES ALL KIND OF CRAZY NOISES AND IT WON'T START.
WHILE SLOWLY BACKING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOME AND TURNING INTO THE STREET, I HEARD A LOUD BANG WHICH SEEMED TO COME FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I PROCEEDED TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE AND SLOWLY DROVE THE TRUCK BACK INTO DRIVEWAY WHEN AT THAT TIME THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE BROKE AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. THE RIGHT LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD BROKE IN HALF WHERE IT WAS ATTACHED TO THE BALL JOINT. AFTER INSPECTING THE BROKEN PART I NOTICED AN ABNORMALITY AND CONCLUDED THERE WAS A MANUFACTURING (CASTING) DEFECT AT THE FACTORY WHICH COMPROMISED THE INTEGRITY OF THE PART.THIS WAS ALSO CONCLUDED BY THE RAM DEALER WHERE I HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AND REPAIRED. PART WAS RETURNED TO CHRYSLER FOR EVALUATION.
THE TAIL GATE FALLS OPEN WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN IT IS NOT LOCKED. THE TAIL GATE WAS REPLACED DUE TO AN ACCIDENT ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND IT HAS NOT LATCHED CLOSED PROPERLY.
DODGE RAM 1500 KEY FOB WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE. THE FOB IS NOT RELIABLE, AS IT HAS FAILED YEARLY SINCE WE OWNED THE VEHICLE. WE FEAR THAT FAILURE TO START POSES A SAFETY HAZARD, AS THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REMOVED FROM A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF IT STALLS.
DURING DECEMBER 2016 AND JANUARY 2017, A RECURRING SAFETY ISSUE OCCURRED. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT TWICE, THE TRUCK SURGED WITHOUT WARNING (WHILE THE DRIVER'S FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE) OR WHILE IN MOTION, SLIPPED INTO ANOTHER GEAR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. GIVEN THE SAFETY CONCERN, ON FEBRUARY 4, 2017 WE TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FAULTY PART RELATED TO THE GEAR SHIFT KNOB ISSUE.
