THE TWO FRONT DOME LIGHTS FLICKER AND HAVE DIMMED FROM THE ORIGINAL BRIGHTNESS AT PURCHASE DATE. I HAVE HAD THE MASTER SWITCH REPLACED AND FINALLY THE OVERHEAD DOME CONSOLE REPLACED AS IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM BRIEFLY, NOW BOTH LIGHTS ARE NOT ADEQUATE FOR USE AS THEY FLICKER AND ARE DIM.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON HIGHWAY AT 11PM. TRAVELING 80MPH ON A 75MPH FREEWAY. TRUCK IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE SINCE 8 DEGREES OUT AND LIGHT SNOW. REAR AXLE SEIZED AND LOCKED UP. LOST CONTROL OF REAR WHEELS. ABLE TO STEER IT TO MEDIAN SINCE FRONT AXLE WAS WORKING. HAD TO BE TOWED. TOOK IT TO DODGE DEALERSHIP. HAD TO REPLACE BOTH REAR AXLES AT A COST OF $4063.91 USING REBUILT PARTS. *TR
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DASHBOARD MESSAGE CENTER SAID TO GET AIRBAG SERVICED. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO FRIENDSHIP DODGE IN BRISTOL TN 37620 TO GET REPAIRS ON THE AIRBAG. THEY DID REPAIR THE AIRBAG, BUT THE SERVICE AIRBAG MESSAGE KEPT COMING ON AND OFF. NOW IT IS STAYING ON ALL THE TIME. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCKS DASH WILL GO BLANK, THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AND THEN RESETS. THE LAST TIME THIS OCCURRED, WHEN THE VEHICLE RESET THE THROTTLE CAME BACK ON WIDE OPEN AND ALMOST CAUSED A LOSS OF CONTROL. I REACTED BY MANUALLY SHUTTING DOWN THE VEHICLE AND COMING TO A REST ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. ONCE I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE ALL WAS OK. I WAS ONLY A MILE FORM THE DODGE DEALER AND RETURNED IT TO THEM FOR A DIAGNOSIS. AGAIN, NOTHING FOUND. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES (DASH RESETTING WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS) BUT ONLY ONCE HAS IT CAME BACK ON FULL THROTTLE. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR THE DASH RESETTING JUST TO HAVE THEM TELL ME THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE INCIDENT. THIS IS A VALID SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. AFTER REVIEWING THE DODGE RAM FORUMS, I NOTICE SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE INCREASED WITHOUT WARNING. ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE STALLED DUE TO THE ENGINE OVERHEATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING UP TO SPECIFICATIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
RIGHT SIDE TIRE (PASSENGER SIDE) SHOWING FEATHERING ON OUTSIDE OF TIRE . IT WAS DETERMINED THAT FRONT END WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT FROM PURCHASE DATE AND WAS ALIGNED BY DODGE DEALERSHIP TO DODGE SPECIFICATIONS. TIRE STILL SHOWED EXCESSIVE OUTSIDE WEAR SAME SIDE OUTSIDE OF TIRE. TIRE WAS ROTATED AT 9000 MILES. ROTATED TIRE NOW SHOWING OUTSIDE WEAR ON FRONT RIGHT SIDE. ALIGNMENT WAS CHECKED FOR ALIGNMENT AND FOUND TO BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND REALIGNED. WEAR PERSISTED AS TIRES WERE ROTATED, TIRES FINALLY HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH 22, 530 MILES. NEW TIRES AND AN ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED AT 22530 MILES TO DODGE SPECIFICATIONS TIRE SHOWING WEAR AT 700 MILES ALIGNMENT CHECKED AND IN ALIGNMENT. NOW AT 1945 MILES RIGHT SIDE TIRE IS SHOWING SEVERE FEATHERING AND LEFT FRONT IS SHOW SLIGHT FEATHERING. DODGE NOTIFIED AND IN PROCESS OF 4TH ALIGNMENT. . AT LEAST 4OTHER DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCKS IN NEIGHBORHOOD ARE ALL SHOWING SAME WEAR PATTERN SAME SYMPTOMS ... DODGE SEEMS NOT TO WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM. HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH DODGE CUSTOMER CARE HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED AN AGENT AND DODGE DEALERSHIPS FROM SEPTEMBER OF 2014 TO PRESENT DATE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS A LEAKAGE IN THE RADIATOR COOLING SYSTEM. IN ADDITION, ABOVE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE CONTACT STATED WATER LEAKED ONTO HER FOOT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SMELL COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
2013 DODGE RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD, TIRE BALANCE ISSUES, CLOCK, IGNITION MALFUNCTION AND OTHER MECHANIC PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE CLOCK AND IGNITION SWITCH WERE REPAIRED. THE UPPER BALL JOINTS FAILED. THE DEALER OFFERED TO ASSIST WITH REPAIRS FOR THE TIRES, BUT THE CONSUMER DECLINED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR THE AIR BAGS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE AREA OF THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE AIR BAGS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE ON OR OFF. THE CONTACTED ALSO INDICATED THAT WHILE THE GEAR WAS IN DRIVE, THE GEAR RANDOMLY SWITCHED OVER TO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED AT THE DEALER, HE WAS INFORMED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. THE DEALER STATED THAT A LOANER VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE PROVIDED IF THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SALES CONTRACT STATED OTHERWISE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,185.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING OVER 45 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. A FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED TWICE. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT SET OF TIRES WERE REPLACED FOUR TIMES DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
I WAS DRIVING 35 MPH ON AN ASPHALT PAVED ROAD IN MY 2013 RAM 1500 CREW CAB, WITH 3,842 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, ON 11/JULY/2014. THE LEFT FRONT TIRE, GOODYEAR WRANGLER SR-A 275/60R20, EXPLODED VIOLENTLY CAUSES INSTANT DEFLATION. THE TIRE TREAD SPLIT COMPLETELY IN HALF FROM OUTSIDE TOP OF RIM TO INSIDE TOP OF RIM. DURING THE PROCESS OF ALL THIS, THE TIRE MANAGED TO MANGLE MY INNER FENDER WALL AND RIP MY LEFT FRONT FENDER FROM ITS ANCHOR BOLTS CAUSING $1,200 WORTH OF DAMAGE. SEARS AUTO DEPARTMENT REPLACED THE TIRE AT NO CHARGE DUE TO BEING COVERED BY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE GOODYEAR CLAIMS DEPARTMENT AND HAD THE TIRE MAILED TO THEIR INSPECTION DEPARTMENT. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL INFORMING ME THAT THE CLAIM WAS BEING DENIED DUE TO NO FAULT ON THE TIRE. GOODYEAR SAID THE TIRE WAS PUNCTURED AND HAD NORMAL DEFLATION. AFTER RECEIVING THE TIRE BACK FROM GOODYEAR, I TOOK IT TO 3 SEPARATE STORES IN MY TOWN TO GET A SECOND OPINION. WITH OVER 85 TOTAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE COMBINED, THE FINAL VERDICT WAS A UNANIMOUS AGREEMENT...NONE OF THEM HAD EVER SEEN A 20" TRUCK TIRE COMPLETELY SPLIT FORM BEAD TO BEAD IN THEIR ENTIRE CAREER. I HAVE LETTERS TO VERIFY THIS INFORMATION. I AM NOW LOOKING INTO A SMALL CLAIMS COURT CASE AGAINST GOODYEAR IN ORDER TO GET PAYMENT FOR THE DAMAGE CAUSED TO MY VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN DRIVING MY TRUCK AT ANY SPEED EVEN A STOP THE CLUSTER WILL RESET. RADIO, AC & TRUCK ALL STILL WORK, ONLY THE CLUSTER WILL RESTART. I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEY HAVE DONE A FEW UPDATES BUT THIS WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.
I WAS WAITING AT A RED LIGHT WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. I GOT A GREEN ARROW TO TURN LEFT AND PROCEEDED INTO THE INTERSECTION. RIGHT AFTER I STARTED MOVING AT ABOUT 1/2 WAY THROUGH MY TURN MY TRUCK'S ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED. I COASTED THE REST OF THE WAY THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE DEALER'S ANALYSES WAS THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE FAILED, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE DETAILS OF THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
TL * THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE RAM 1500 EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRES, SIZE P265/70R/17. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH ON A GRAVEL ROAD, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE BECAME PUNCTURED BY ONE OF THE ROCKS CAUSING IT TO DEFLATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE TIRES NOT BEING RATED AS TRUCK TIRES, WHICH CAUSED THEM TO EASILY BECOME PUNCTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. NEITHER THE VIN NOR THE DOT NUMBER WAS AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,800.
THE ISSUES HAVE BEEN WITH THE TRUCK'S CRUISE CONTROL. INITIALLY IT WOULD SHUT OFF WHEN THE '+' BUTTON WAS PRESSED 2X RAPIDLY OR WOULD NOT OPERATE AT ALL. IT WOULD RESUME FUNCTIONING WHEN I WOULD PULL OVER AND RESTART THE TRUCK. THE ISSUES HOWEVER HAS ESCALATED TO A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. ON THE MORNING OF 7/28/2014, THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT SHUT OFF OR DISARM. I COULD CANCEL AND/OR PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN, BUT THE SYSTEM WOULD NOT DISARM OR TURN OFF. A VISIT TO THE DEALER VERIFIED THE ISSUE AND A 2014 MODEL WAS TAKEN FOR A TEST DRIVE AND IT DID NOT REPLICATE SAME ISSUE. HAVING THE CRUISE CONTROL UNEXPECTEDLY DISENGAGE OR HAVE IT NOT DISARM IS A SERIOUS TRAFFIC AND SAFETY HAZARD. WHEN BACKING UP IN REVERSE AND SHIFTING INTO DRIVE THE "D" LIGHT ON THE DASH AND SHIFTER KNOB FLASHES ON AND OFF. WHEN THIS HAPPENS PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR REVS THE ENGINE UP AS IF IN NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT CAUGHT ME TOTALLY BY SURPRISE AND BECAUSE I WAS ON A STEEP HILL MY TRUCK ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO THE MOVING TRUCK WAITING FOR ME TO PULL OUT. ONCE I ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO A GARAGE BEFORE I COULD STOP IT.LUCKILY FOR EVERYBODY CONCERNED THE GARAGE DOOR WAS OPEN. ANOTHER TIME I ROLLED OVER A CURB IN A PARKING LOT INTO A BUSH. MANY TIMES JUST PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT HAS CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED AS HAS THE SHIFTER KNOB. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AND CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN HELPFUL IN TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT AND HAS VERIFIED THE PROBLEM EXISTS. AS THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX IT THEY HAVE BEEN RELYING ON CHRYSLER TECHNICAL ASSIST (STAR CASE). CHRYSLER'S LAST RESPONSE WAS THE BRAKE SHOULD ALWAYS BE FIRMLY PRESSED WHILE SHIFTING "THIS IS A BUILT IN SAFETY FEATURE AND NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION"???. HOW CAN A 6000LB TRUCK ROLLING BACKWARDS WITH THE DRIVER EXPECTING IT TO GO FORWARDS BE "NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION"? I HAVE GONE FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND THE "D" LIGHT WILL FLASH. BUT WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE TRANSMISSION "LOCKS" AND EVEN THOUGH THE THE TRUCK REVS JUST LIKE THE OTHER SITUATION IT DOESN'T MOVE. IT JUST STAYS PUT IN THE SAME PLACE. THIS I WOULD CONSIDER "NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION". ONE DAY WHEN THIS ROLLING SITUATION HAPPENS THERE IS GOING TO BE SOMEBODY BEHIND ME AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT. I CANNOT GET CHRYSLER TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. I HAVE TOLD THEM OVER AND OVER ABOUT MY SAFETY CONCERNS AND ABOUT ALREADY RUNNING INTO ANOTHER TRUCK AND ALL THEY CAN SAY IS "WE UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERNS BUT YOUR PROBLEM IS NORMAL" . CENTER DASH CLUSTER REBOOTS WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE KEEPS RUNNING WHILE CLUSTER RECYCLES. IT HAS OCCURRED DOZENS OF TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT OCCURS AT MULTIPLE SPEEDS AND SOMETIMES WHEN I AM SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT. NOW THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE INTERMITTENTLY WORKING ON ALL OF THE DOORS. HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK 3 OF 4 DOORS.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS WATER LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASH BOARD TO THE FLOOR AROUND THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND SPREADING TO THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MULTIPLE DEALERS, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
I WAS SITTING IN MY TRUCK IN FRONT OF A CONVENIENCE STORE FOR 20-30 MINUTES WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING WHILE I CAUGHT UP MY TEXTS AND CALLS. WHEN I GOT READY TO LEAVE I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE. I GLANCED MY MIRRORS AND LOOKED OVER MY RIGHT SHOULDER AND STARTED TO EASE MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AS I'VE DONE MANY TIMES IN THE PAST. THE NEXT THING I KNOW, I'M MOVING FORWARD AS IF I HAD STOMPED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND I CRASHED THROUGH THE FRAMING AND GLASS OF THE STORE FRONT. AS I WAS PENETRATING THE STRUCTURE OF THE STORE I TRIED TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND I WAS PUSHING ON THE BRAKES. THEN THE TRUCK REVERSES AND I REALIZE I'M HEADED TOWARDS THE GAS PUMP AND POSSIBLY OTHER CUSTOMERS. ALL THIS TIME I WAS PUSHING ON THE BRAKE AND I WOULD LET OFF AND HOLD THEM AGAIN. THE ENGINE WAS REVVING AT WHAT SOUNDED TO BE THE MAXIMUM THEN IT WOULD DROP FOR JUST A BIT AND REV AGAIN. WHEN I WAS HEADED FOR THE GAS PUMPS AFTER LEAVING THE BUILDING I PULLED THE VEHICLE SHIFTER DOWN TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T GO INTO PARK AND I WAS IN SUCH A STATE OF PANIC I HADN'T THOUGHT TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION. I WAS HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE TO THE STEERING WHEEL AND LETTING GO OF IT JUST DIDN'T OCCUR TO ME. AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE AND RUNNING INTO THE BUILDING FOR THE SECOND TIME, THE ENGINE DROPPED BACK TO AN IDLE AND I PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND SLOWLY BACKED OUT OF THE DAMAGED STOREFRONT, PUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND SHUT IT OFF.I THOUGHT ABOUT IT AFTER IT WAS OVER AND EVEN IF I HAD INADVERTENTLY PLACED THE TRUCK INTO DRIVE, LETTING MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL WOULD HAVE ALLOWED THE TRUCK TO MERELY BUMP INTO THE CONCRETE STOPPING BLOCK STOPPING IT, IT FELT LIKE THE TRUCK HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN. *TR

TRUCK DID THE SAME TWO MORE TIMES! TAKEN BACK TO DEALER JUNE 5TH. THEN TOLD EVAP LEAK.. ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON AFTER THIS TIME AS WELL. TOLD TO DO THE SAME THING. KEEP DRIVING IT UNTIL THE COMPUTER RESETS!!! WAS DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND FRONT END SHAKING SO I PULLED OVER. SPUTTERED AND CUTS OFF. SO AGAIN IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND HAS BEEN THERE SINCE ABOUT JULY 19TH TO DATE!! HAVE BEEN TOLD FUEL PUMP WAS CRACKED, ORDERED AND ON BACK ORDER. AND MISFIRINGS ON FUEL INJECTORS #7 AND A RANDOM ONE. WARRANTY COVERED NOTHING. WHAT IF IT CUT OFF IN AN INTERSECTION?!! FIRST TIME DRAINED SOME WATER FROM FUEL TANK. NOW SAYING POSSIBLE SUGAR IN IT. DASH LIGHT AND RADIO WENT BLANK. WHEN THEY CAME BACK ON THE DASH DID NOT WORK CORRECTLY AND THE RADIO RESET. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW CONTROL MODULE AND THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. WHEN THE NEW ONE CAME IN I WENT TO START THE TRUCK AND NOTHING WORKED COULD NOT EVEN TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. CALLED DEALER AND WAS TOLD HOW TO UNLOCK SHIFT SELECTOR. SINCE BEING REPLACED I HAVE HAD IT BACK INTO THE DEALER AT LEAST 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME ORIGINAL COMPLAINT. I HAD THE MODULE REPLACED AGAIN BY A DIFFERENT DEALER ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I ACCIDENTALLY ROLLED INTO A CYCLONE FENCE. I KNEW I COULDN'T HAVE DONE DAMAGE AT SUCH A LOW SPEED. BUT I DID CHECK THE FENCE AND NO DAMAGE. WHEN I CHECKED MY VEHICLE THERE WAS A DENT IN THE FASCIA FROM THE FENCE WIRE. THIS IS WHEN I NOTICED THE BUMPER WAS FLUSH WITH THE FASCIA FRONT AND SIDES. THE ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS REBOOTED (I.E.-SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED) ON 7 SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND COUNTING. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AND DOES NOT SEEM TO BE RELATED TO ANY SPECIFIC DRIVING CIRCUMSTANCE SUCH AS SPEED, ACCELERATION, ETC. IT APPEARS ARBITRARY. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT WILL SHUT DOWN SOMETHING MECHANICAL THAT IT CONTROLS WHEN I AM DRIVING WHICH COULD LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC EVENT. THE VEHICLES COMPUTER DOES SOME SORT OF RESET AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS BUT ANY ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE FAIL TILL THE RESET IS COMPLETE. TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND ALSO NOTIFIED CHRYSLER WHICH THERE ATTEMPTED RESOLUTIONS WERE ONLY GUESS AND DOES NOT RESOLVE THE SHUTDOWNS. CHRYSLER AND SERVICE TECH'S HAVE STATED THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THE ISSUE YET ANOTHER CUSTOMER IN FOR SERVICE SAME TIME AS MYSELF WITH A JEEP COMPLAINED OF THE SAME ISSUE THAT I HAD SEEN WITH MY RAM. I HAD PROBLEMS PRIOR TO APRIL 2014 BUT I AM JUST USING A TIME FRAME WHEN CHRYSLER GOT INVOLVED. IN 2013 AND 2014 MY DODGE RAM WOULD HAVE THE CLUSTER PANEL COME ON WITH AIR BAG SERVICE NEEDED FIRST AND THEN THE REMAINING LIGHTS WOULD COME ON TO INCLUDE ENGINE LIGHT WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD COME ON. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER THEY TRIED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM TO INCLUDE RESETTING THE COMPUTER. OVER TIME I WOULD LOSE MY POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. FORTUNATELY I WAS GOING INTO A PARKING AREA WHEN I LOST THE POWER BRAKES OTHERWISE I'M SURE I WOULD HAVE CRASHED SINCE I DID NOT EXPECT THE CHANGE. AS OF LATE THE TRUCK WILL NOT START OR THE RADIO WON'T GO OFF. I FEEL THAT THE HEADLIGHTS (HALOGEN) ON MY 2013 RAM 1500 SLT ARE INADEQUATE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK SAFELY. THE LOW BEAMS ARE TOO DIM AND YELLOWISH TO SEE DOWN THE ROAD. AFTER A WEEKEND OF CAMPING I LOADED UP THE TRUCK AND WAS ON MY WAY HOME DOING APPROX 45-55 MPH. I STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND AS SOON AS I GET A GREEN I PROCEED TO ACCELERATE EXCEPT I HAVE NO ACCELERATION. I LOOKED DOWN AND SEE "SERVICE THROTTLE CONTROL". MY VEHICLE HAS NOW ENTERED LIMP MODE LEAVING ME TO DRIVE 120 MILES HOME ON THE INTERSTATE AT 15-25 MPH WITH VERY LIMITED ACCELERATION IF ANY. A FEW WEEKS EARLIER I HEARD A HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE FROM MY TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING AT 30-35 MPH. ACCELERATING FROM STOP LIGHT AND AT 35 MPH A LOUD EXPLOSION WAS HEARD FROM THE PASSENGER DASH AREA. I THOUGHT I SAW SOME POWDERY DUST AFTERWARD. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. THEY DID A DRB COMPUTER TEST AND ROAD TEST. NOTHING FOUND. ALSO THERE WERE NO DASH WARNING LIGHTS. WHEN IT HAPPENED MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THE AIR BAG CHARGE WENT OFF, BUT WHY DIDN'T THE BAG COME OUT.

THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS WITH DIALS ALL FALL TO THE LEFT NOT READING ANYTHING. I AM AFRAID THAT ONE TIME IT DOES THIS IT WILL NOT COME BACK ON AND LEAVE ME STRANDED OR WORSE MAYBE CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACE AT THE BANK. WIPERS CAME ON AND ALL GAUGES STARTED FLASHING. SHUT TRUCK OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART. I VIDEOED IT. I HAD TAKEN IT IN TO DEALER ON 2/15/14 FOR SERVICE AND TOLD THE MANAGER THAT I HAD 2 OCCASIONS WHERE MY GAUGES HAD FLASHED AND WENT COMPLETELY DARK AND I RESTARTED IT AND THEY CAME BACK ON. ONE DAY I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND WHEN I TURNED THE SHIFT KNOB ON MY 8-SPEED AUTO TRANSMISSION V-6 FROM "REVERSE" TO "DRIVE" THE GEAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE. WHEN I APPLIED MY FOOT TO THE ACCELERATOR THE RPM'S INCREASED AS IF I WERE IN NEUTRAL. DURING THIS OCCURRENCE THE "D" ON THE SHIFT KNOB WAS BLINKING. AFTER TURNING THE KNOB BACK TO PARK AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL AWAY AND DRIVE NORMALLY. ON A DIFFERENT DAY ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER I NOTICED THAT WHILE IN "DRIVE" AND TRAVELING BETWEEN 15MPH AND 30MPH MY TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO BE IN THE WRONG GEAR. I WOULD APPLY THE ACCELERATOR AND THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE UPWARDS TO 2500 - 3500RPMS WHICH SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AT SUCH LOW SPEEDS. STEPPED ON GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES THINKING IT WAS STUCK WITH NO EFFECT - RPM REMAINED CONSTANT. THEN PUT BOTH FEET ON BRAKE PEDAL - RPM REMAINED CONSTANT. THEN SHIFTED TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL POSITION. CHECK ETC / RED LIGHTNING BOLT MESSAGE NOW ON IN MESSAGE CENTER LOCATED BETWEEN TACH & SPEEDOMETER. RPM'S NOW AT A CONSTANT 4K WITH VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND COASTING. NO PLACE TO TURN OFF WITHOUT BLOCKING TRAFFIC. STOPPED AT LIGHTED INTERSECTION - VEHICLE STILL AT 4K RPM. SHIFTED BACK INTO "DRIVE", TIRES CHIRPED AND TRUCK LUNGED FORWARD STILL AT 4K RPM. PARKED VEHICLE IN SAFE PLACE ADJACENT TO GAS STATION AND SHUT OFF - TRANSMISSION STILL EITHER IN GEAR OR NEUTRAL. ENGINE OFF - SHIFTED INTO "PARK". WAITED 3-4 MINUTES AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART VEHICLE. ENGINE ICON, ECT ICON AND RED STEERING WHEEL WITH EXPLANATION POINT ICON WHERE ALL ON. VEHICLE CRANKED, BUT ACTED LIKE NO FUEL / SPARK AND WOULD NOT START. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP ON FLATBED. NO WORD BACK FROM DEALER YET. MILEAGE 5,443 - MOSTLY HIGHWAY. NOTE: NO FLOOR MATS JUST FACTORY RUG AND CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT "ON" OR IN USE IN ANY WAY. ONLY MODIFICATIONS TO VEHICLE ARE THE ADDITION OF A SPRAY BED-LINER AND TOPPER. I WAS BORN AND RAISED AROUND CARS AND HAVE GOOD MECHANICAL ABILITY INCLUDING GROUND-UP RESTORATIONS OF PRE 1970 VEHICLES. 01/08/14. UPON START UP IT WAS STUCK IN 4TH GEAR. WOULD NOT COME OUT OF 4TH GEAR. IT SET AN ENGINE LIGHT. DEALER DID A "FLASH UPDATE" ON 01/09/14. WAS FINE UNTIL 02/11/14 AND DID IT AGAIN,(WOULD NOT COME OUT OF 4TH GEAR). THIS TIME, SHUTTING IT OFF AND RESTARTING IT (TWICE) RESET IT AND IT CAME OUT OF 4TH GEAR. *TR
