SUSPENSION SYSTEM (AIR BAGS) GO OUT. THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AND TRUCK WILL HIT THE ROAD (EVEN FLAT NEW ROAD) REALLY HARD WITH ANY BUMP. USUALLY IT STARTS WITH ONE SIDE THE DRIVER BACK SIDE AND EVENTUALLY BOTH AIR BAGS GO OUT. IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF A LITTLE BUMP CAN MANAGE TO MOVE MY STEERING, A BIG POT HOLE CAN MAKE MY WHOLE TRUCK CHANGES LANES. THE SYSTEM DETECTS THE MALFUNCTION AFTER 3 USES AND SAYS "SUSPENSION OVERHEATED" SUSPENSION COOLING". THIS HAPPEN EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS . THE MORE USE IN THE DAY, THE MORE PULL, THE MORE WEIGHT, IT GOES OUT. I CAN'T USE THE TRUCK FOR WHAT IS FOR AND NOW IS ONLY A CARPOOL TRUCK. DODGE RAM LONGHORN 2014
2014 ECODIESEL RECEIVED AN UPDATE / REPROGRAMMING OF ENGINE CONTROL UNIT (ECU) AND NOW HAS SERIOUS DRIVABILITY ISSUES, ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD. THROTTLE RESPONSE IS DELAYED AND, IF TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC, IS DANGEROUS DUE TO THE DELAY IN THROTTLE RESPONSE. IN ADDITION TO DRIVABILITY ISSUES, THE FUEL MILEAGE HAS DECREASED SIGNIFICANTLY, PROBABLY 20%.
AIRBAG CHECK LIGHT RANDOMLY GOES OFF AND ON WILL DRIVING. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALER IN CAMBRIDGE,MN AND WAS TOLD PLUG CONNECTOR FOR AIRBAG UNDER FRONT PASSENGER SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY SO IT WOULD COST $650 ON TOP OF THE INSPECTION FEE I NOW OWE BECAUSE IT WASN'T A PROBLEM THAT WARRANTY COVERED. DENIED THE SERVICE, IF NEED BE I CAN FIX IT MYSELF AND BETTER THAN THEM JUST SETTING UP ANOTHER JUNK PLUG CONNECTOR TO PROBABLY GET SAME PROBLEM RETURN OF N NEW CONNECTOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V347000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO POMOCO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF NEWPORT NEWS (12629 JEFFERSON AVE, NEWPORT NEWS, VA 23602) WHERE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALL REPAIR, THE TAILGATE LATCH INDEPENDENTLY OPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND HE WAS INFORMED THAT HE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.
FUEL SENSOR FAILURE. GAS GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY ALL THE TIME. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AS WELL AS "FUEL SENSOR FAILURE" LIGHT. THIS IS VERY COMMON IN THESE RAM TRUCKS. IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME TO ME WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS A WARNING BELL, THEN THE FUEL SENSOR FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT, AND THEN GAS GAUGE DROPPED TO DEAD EMPTY. HAS REMAINED THERE SINCE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE NEXT LANE, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND DID NOT RELEASE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE'S SPEED TO INCREASE TO APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ATTEMPT TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, IT FAILED TO SLOW DOWN UNTIL THE CONTACT DEACTIVATED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PLACED THE GEAR IN PARK, AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE FAILURE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SUBURBAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF TROY (LOCATED AT 1790 MAPLELAWN DR, TROY, MI 48084, 248-585-8800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. I WAS DRIVING AND THE TRUCK STARTED TO IDLE HIGH AND THEN BLEW A BIG CLOUD OF SMOKE LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE I SHUT IT OFF AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. I TOOK IT BACK TO WHERE I BOUGHT IT TO HAVE THE WARRANTY FIX IT BUT THEY ARE STATING THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE INTAKE MANIFOLD CATCHING FIRE AND WILL NOT FIX IT AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR A BASED ON THE RECALL INFO
LAST YEAR THEY DID AN EMISSIONS UPDATE ON MY TRUCK. SINCE THEN THERE IS TERRIBLE ACCELERATOR PEDAL LAG. I ALREADY HAD A DOZEN OR MORE CLOSE CALLS WHEN TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC. IT TAKES LITERALLY 2-3 SECONDS AFTER I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR FOR THE TRUCK TO START MOVING. IT MAKES DRIVING THE TRUCK DANGEROUS IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS.
THE BRAKE PEDAL KEEPS SINKING NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE IT STOPS. THIS CLEARLY PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD TO OCCUPANTS OR PEDESTRIANS, AND AFFECTS THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO SAFELY CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED ON CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY ON MY WAY HOME. WHILE DRIVING IT WILL BRAKE PROPERLY A FEW TIMES THAN IT START SINKING AGAIN. I FEEL IT HAS TO DO WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER OR BOOSTER. I ALSO HAVE VIDEO OF THE PEDAL SINKING.
AFTER THE V08 UPDATE VERY BAD LAG FROM THE PEDAL AND GAS MILEAGE DROPPED VERY SIGNIFICANTLY.
ENGINE LIGHT ON DUE TO LOW FUEL SENSOR BAD. WHEN THE GAS TANK REACHES A CERTAIN LEVEL THE GAS GAUGE GOES TO E. *TR
MY STOCK DRIVESHAFT IS RUBBING INTO MY STOCK GAS TANK. I BELIEVE TO BE THE CASE ON ALL 2014 REGULAR CAB 1500 WITH THE 3.92 REAR END. THE KEY HERE IS THE 3.92 REAR END ON THIS TRUCK. THEY USED AN OVERSIZE ADAPTER PLATE THE MOUNT THE DRIVE SHAFT AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH CLEARANCE WHEN TURNING LEFT AND THE BED ROLLS. I HAVE GAUGE MARKS IN MY TANK AND FCA IS REFUSING TO LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE EVEN THOUGH A RAM DEALER POINTED IT OUT TO ME.
PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT NOT WORKING. HEADLIGHT IS NOT BLOWN , NO FUSE TO CHANGE . ONLY FIX IS AT THE DEALER . SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHILE OUT ON THE ROAD AND NO WAY TO GET TO A DEALER . TRAVEL WHILE IT'S DARK A LOT IN A RURAL AREA WITH A LOT OF WILDLIFE.
I HAD THE AEM UPDATE DONE ON MY 2014 RAM ECODIESEL. THE RECALL DRASTICALLY AFFECTED THE PERFORMANCE OF THE TRUCK. THE ACCELERATION IS NOW DANGEROUSLY SLOW. MY WIFE, MY SON, AND I HAVE ALL NEARLY BEEN IN ACCIDENTS RIGHT AFTER THE RECALL WAS DONE BECAUSE WE WERE NOT AWARE HOW THE PERFORMANCE HAD BEEN REDUCED SO MUCH. FROM A STANDSTILL THE TRUCK TAKES 3-5 SECONDS TO BEGIN TO ACCELERATE. THE TRUCK IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING RACK IS GOING OUT, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE ON HIGHWAY, ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH.
AFTER THE MANDATORY EMISSIONS UPDATE ON MY ECODIESEL I AM GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT TRYING TO GET OUT IN TO TRAFFIC AT A STOP LIGHT OR SIGN. THERE IS SERIOUS LAG IN THE THROTTLE RESPONSE AND SOMETIMES NO RESPONSE AT ALL. HOW CAN SOMETHING THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO MAKE US SAFER LEAVE US SO VERY VULNERABLE. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE FOR A FIX TO THIS ISSUE. ALSO THE UPDATE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO CAUSE A CHANGE IN FUEL ECONOMY OR THE WAY OUR VEHICLES RUN. IT IS HORRIBLE. IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT THE FUEL ECONOMY IS SO DRASTICALLY REDUCED, BUT SERIOUSLY THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. EVERY TIME THAT I AM AT A STOP AND THEN PUSH ON MY THROTTLE I HAVE NO IDEA IF THE PICKUP IS GOING TO RESPOND OR NOT. NUMEROUS TIMES I HAVE BEEN STALLED OUT WITH TRAFFIC COMING AT ME BOTH WAYS. IT IS AN EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. WORSE, I AM CONSIDERING AN AFTER MARKET "TUNE" AS ARE 1000'S OF OTHERS. THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER TO THIS WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. PLEASE MAKE DODGE FIX THIS TERRIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. HOW MANY PREVENTABLE CRASHES WILL THERE HAVE TO BE?

LOUD AND SOUND LIKE ROD OR CYLINDER RATTLING. NO POWER PULLING TRAILER OR WHEN CLIMBING HILLS, HAVE TO KEEP IT FLOORED. DEALER CONFIRMED ALL PROBLEMS AND SAYS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. AROUND 55000 MILES.
THE V08 EMISSION RECALL HAS DESPITE WHAT THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS DECREASED MY MPG, INCREASED TURBO LAG, MADE IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO LITERALLY SLOWER THAN ACCEPTABLE THROTTLE RESPONSE, AND DAILY DIESEL REGENERATION. ALL BEFORE THIS FLASH TO THE ECU THERE WHERE NO PROBLEMS. BUT SINCE IT IS A TICKING TIME BOMB JUST WAITING FOR FOR ME TO GET T-BONED AT AN INTERSECTION FOR THE DELAYED ACCELERATION.
IN MOTION LOST ALL POWER WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOP COOLANT BYPASS VALVE PART NUMBER #68483334AA WITH RESEARCH SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ALSO PART IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ORDER
FUEL GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY WHEN THE TANK IS FULL
FUEL SENSOR FAIL OCCURS WHEN TANK GETS TO HALFWAY POINT; ONCE IT FAILS THE TANK APPEARS TO BE EMPTY AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. ME, ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHER DRIVERS EXPERIENCE THIS. MY VEHICLE STARTED EXPERIENCING THIS WITH ONLY 50,000 MILES, THIS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING AND THIS IS A DEFECTIVE UNIT. A FAILURE SUCH AS THIS CAN CAUSE HEADACHES TO DRIVERS BY GIVING THEM A FALSE SENSE OF WHAT IS ACTUALLY BEING PRESENTED TO THEM ON THEIR INSTRUMENT PANEL.
THE DAIL SHIFTER ON OUR TRUCK BOTH DIRECTIONS REVERSE AND FORWARD WILL NOT GO. WE HAVE TO SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND DO THIS A FEW TIME TO RESET THE COMPUTER TO BE ABLE TO MOVE THE TRUCK. TOOK THIS IN TO GET FIXED AND THEY SAID THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM ON A METER AND WE TOOK EXTRA INSURANCE FOR THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE SOME ANSWERS BEFORE WE ARE STUCK IN 114-DEGREE WEATHER. AT ALL DIFFERENT TIME WHEN YOU TRY TO DRIVE NIGHT, DAY, STOP SIGN, STOPLIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,115. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY MY FUEL SENSOR FAILING AND SAYING THAT MY GAS TANK WAS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I HAD 3/4 OF A TANK. NOW, MY ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON, BUT THE FUEL SENSOR WORKS AS LONG AS MY TANK IS COMPLETELY FULL. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 20 MILES POST-FILL UP, THE FUEL SENSOR STOPS WORKING AND READS ON EMPTY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE I CAN'T TELL HOW MUCH GAS IS IN MY VEHICLE UNLESS IT'S COMPLETELY FULL. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS LINE OF RAM TRUCKS.
THE VEHICLE'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FLICKERS FROM BRIGHT TO EXTREMELY DARK. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP TRACED THE ISSUE BACK TO THE ICP MODULE. AS THIS MODULE CONTINUES TO FLICKER IT DRAWS THE ATTENTION OF THE OPERATOR AWAY FROM THE ROAD. THE MODULE ALSO INDICATES ENGINE ISSUES, THIS COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF CONTROL RESULTING IN A CRASH.

VEHICLE EXPERIENCED LOST OF AUTOMOTIVE POWER VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELLERATE FAILURES AFTER SERVICE FOR EMISSIONS RECALL THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HESITATE AND LOOSE POWER. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE BEGAN TO OCCUR AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR AN EMISSIONS RECALL. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
DUE TO THE ECODIESEL SETTLEMENT PROGRAM, I ALLOWED FCA TO UPDATE THE ECM TO MEET THEIR REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SETTLEMENT. AFTER THE UPDATE, MY TRUCK IS DANGEROUSLY SLOW FROM A STANDING START. I NEVER KNOW IF THE TRUCK WILL ACCELERATE AS I MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. SOMETIME IT IS BARELY ADEQUATE BUT MOST OF THE TIME THERE IS A 2 TO 4 SECOND DELAY BEFORE THE TURBO KICKS IN (AROUND 2,000 RPM) AND THEN THERE IS A STRONG TURBO LEAP BECAUSE MY FOOT IS BURIED IN THE FLOOR TRYING TO GET THE TRUCK TO MOVE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN T-BONED OR REAR-ENDED SEVERAL TIMES CROSSING STREETS AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND FCA TOLD ME THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE THE TRUCK DIDN'T SHOW ANY ERROR CODES.

THE CONTACT DROVE TO WHITTEN BROTHERS OF ASHLAND (11409 WASHINGTON HWY, ASHLAND, VA 23005, 804-798-6071) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT EITHER THE MOTOR OR THE CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 182,000.
ACCELERATOR WHEN PUSHED DOWN TO TO PASS ANOTHER CAR WILL STICK TO FULL THROTTLE AND NOT RELEASE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, COULD CAUSE LOST OF LIFE, DUE TO THE TRUCK WOULD REACH TOP SPEED AND NOT BE ABLE TO STOP IT. MY SON REACH OVER AND PUT TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND L ROLLED TO A STOP. I WAS DRIVING ON A SIX LANE ROAD IN TOWN WHERE SPEED LIMIT IS 45 MPH. I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM OR RESEARCH DONE ON IT. NOT SURE WHAT SPEED MY TRUCK WENT TO, I WAS TRYING NOT TO HIT ANOTHER CAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE BRAKING, THE CONTACT SMELLED OIL AND RUBBER BURNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE BARELY STOPPED ONCE HE ARRIVED HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TALLAHASSEE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM FIAT (3987 W TENNESSEE ST, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32304, (844) 280-9221) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINE COLLAPSED. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE BRAKE CALIPER TO CLOSE DOWN AND DESTROY THE ROTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE COST OF $1,300 BECAUSE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS BOGUS, AND HE WAS MISLEAD AND LIED TO BY THE DEALER. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE DEALER WAS VERY DISHONEST. THE OLD ORIGINAL FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINES THAT WENT BAD WERE OF SUCH POOR QUALITY THEY ONLY LASTED 27,387 MILES. ANYTHING AS IMPORTANT AS A BRAKE LINE, IT WOULD SEEM TO ME, SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN THAT. THE NEW FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINES ARE ONLY WARRANTED FOR 12,000 MILES OR 12 MONTHS. WE WERE FORTUNATE WE WERE IN TOWN DRIVING AND UNDER WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED.*JB

WHEN IN MOTION ON A CITY OR A HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT DOWNSHIFT CORRECTLY AND IT SOUNDS LIKE IF IT IS REVVING WHEN NOT STEPPING ON THE GAS.
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LEAK CAUSING FUEL AT A HIGH PRESSURE TO BE SPRAYED ALL OVER ENGINE COMPARTMENT, EXHAUST SYSTEM, BRAKES AND COAT THE UNDERCARRIAGE WITH FUEL. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED (70 MPH) A MIST OF VAPOR APPEARED BEHIND THE TRUCK CAUSING OTHER VECHICLES TO PULL TO THE SIDE TO AVOID THE FUEL BEING SPRAYED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND MASSIVE FUEL SPILL COVERED THE CONCRETE AND DRIPPED FROM EVERY UNDERCARRIAGE LOWPOINT. SMOKE AND SIZZLING WAS OBSERVED AND WE FLED A SAFE DISTANCE FROM VEHICLE. THIS IS A REPEAT FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE. THIS IS THE FIFTH FAILURE AND IT HAS SEVERAL MORE ATTEMPTED TO SOLVE THE LEAK PRIOR TO CLOSING THE WORK ORDERS. FAILURE APPEARS TO HAPPEN AFTER APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES OF BEING IN SERVICE. NO ROOT CAUSE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR THIS FAILURE. VEHICLE IS IN THE POSSESSION OF FCA AND NO CLEAR PATH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME ON HOW THIS IS GOING TO BE RESOLVED AND I AM WITHOUT MY TRUCK. NO PATH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO REPAIR COMPONENTS THAT HAVE BEEN SEVERELY CONTAMINATED BY DIESEL (BRAKE PADS, ROTORS, VERSUS RUBBER COMPONENTS, ETC) THE ATTACHED PHOTO SHOWS THE AMOUNT OF FUEL THAT POURED OUT IN THE DEALER SERVICE BAY. THIS 2014 RAM ECODIESEL RECEIVED THE APPROVED EMISSION MODIFICATION FROM FCA AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 5TH 2019. AFTER RECEIVING THE ENGINE SOFTWARE UPDATE THE TRUCK EXPERIENCES SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN ACCELERATION CAUSING ENTERING TO TRAFFIC TO BE DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE. EXAMPLE: ON TWO OCCASIONS, I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO ENTER TRAFFIC AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN BROADSIDED AS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE DESPITE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, I WAS ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE UP A STEEP ROAD AND THE ENGINE WOULD APPEAR TO STALL OUT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO REMAIN STATIONARY WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GO UP HILL. THIS VEHICLE NEVER DISPLAYED ANY OF THIS BEHAVIOR PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE NEW ENGINE SOFTWARE FROM FCA. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT DANGEROUS, UNSAFE, AND UNPREDICTABLE TO DRIVE.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DROVE TO M & M CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, AND RAM (131 MILL ST, LIBERTY, NY 12754, 845-292-3500) TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
I HAD THE EMISSIONS RECALL/REPAIR FOR THE ECODIESEL ENGINES PER THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BETWEEN THE EPA AND FCA. FCA CLAIMS THAT IT WOULD NOT EFFECT POWER OR GAS MILEAGE. MY TRUCK NOW HAS A SIGNIFICANT LAG FROM A STOP AS WELL AS FROM 10 MPH TO ABOUT 20MPH WHEN ONE HITS THE GAS AND TRIES TO ACCELERATE. THIS DECREASE IN POWER MAKES THIS VEHICLE DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN TRYING TO PULL ON TO A STREET THAT HAS ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
AFTER COMPLETING THE EMISSIONS RECALL ON MY ECO DIESEL TRUCK I HAVE LOST ALL STARTING POWER. IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE LOST TURBO AND TAKE ROUGHLY 2-3 SEC TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. I HAVE TRIED FLOORING IT AND STILL NO TAKE OFF; IT SLOWLY ACCELERATES INTO TRAFFIC BEFORE IT FINALLY GOES. SO FAR I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO NOT BE HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
ECODIESEL-POST EPA REQUIRED REPAIRS- TURBO LAG / DELAYED ACCELERATION. UP TO A TWO SECOND TIME DELAY BEFORE VEHICLE WILL PROCEED UPON FULL THROTTLE DEMAND TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC OR FROM A STOP SIGN OR NEEDING TO PASS A VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.. THE DELAY WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT TO OCCUR. PRIOR TO THE EPA REPAIRS, VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY TURBO LAG/ACCELERATION ISSUES. ONE COULD ACCELERATE WITH FULL, PARTIAL OR MINIMAL THROTTLE AND HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE VEHICLE PERFORMING AS NEEDED. DISCUSSED THIS PROBLEM WITH LOCAL RAM DEALER, THEY STATED THERE IS NO CURRENT FIX BEING CONSIDERED BY FCA. I HAVE A 2014 RAM ECODIESEL AND RECENTLY GOT THE AEM UPDATE. NOW WHEN THE VEHICLE HASN'T STARTED FOR 24 HOURS, THERE IS NO ACCELERATION UPON START-UP. BY THAT I MEAN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENS FOR UP TO 3 SECONDS. THEN IT IS VERY SLUGGISH. SO IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC. THIS LAST FOR UP TO 5 MINUTES AFTER START-UP. THIS HAPPENS ON EVERY START-UP WHEN COLD.
AFTER GETTING THE AEM FLASH PER THE SETTLEMENT WITH EPA MY TRUCK IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE WHEN STARTING OUT. IT IS A MAJOR HAZARD TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC. NUMEROUS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OCCURRENCES. ALSO - THE SETTLEMENT STATED "NO DRIVING DIFFERENCES" - FAR FROM IT. THROTTLE LAG - MPG DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. WHILE EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT SHUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG, SEAT BELT AIR BAG, AND DRIVER'S SEAT AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO START AN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WAS ADVISED TO TAKE TRUCK IN FOR RECALL REFLASH DUE TO ECO DIESEL SETTLEMENT PACKAGE. AFTER RECALL FIX WAS CONDUCTED, ENGINE SLUGGISH, SHIFTING NOT SMOOTH AND MILES PER GALLON DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY. ALL THIS AFTER A TRIP OF 8 HOURS AT LEGAL SPEED LIMITS.
I OWN A 2014 RAM 1500 WITH A 3.0L ECO DIESEL. THERE WAS A FEDERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT WAS HANDED DOWN AND THE OUTCOME WAS AN APPROVED ENGINE MODIFICATION (AEM). THE AEM WAS A REFLASH OF THE ECM AND TCM. AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED, THE PERFORMANCE OF MY TRUCK DANGEROUSLY IMPACTED. IF I DRIVE MY TRUCK BEFORE THE ENGINE REACHES OPERATING TEMPERATURES OVER 150DEGREES, THERE IS SIGNIFICANT ACCELERATION DELAYS. IT USUALLY TAKES ME 5-10MINUTES OF DRIVING OR MORE THAN 20MINUTES OF IDLING (WARMING UP) TO GET THE ENGINE UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURES. I CAN PUSH ON THE ACCELERATOR PETAL AND WAIT 3-5 SECONDS BEFORE THE TRUCK REACTS, THEN I GET PUSHED BACK INTO MY SEAT AND SOMETIMES SPIN THE DRIVE TIRES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM TURNING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, OR TRYING TO OVERTAKE ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO, PRIOR TO THE ENGINE REACHING OPERATING TEMPERATURES, I NOW EXPERIENCE 'TURBO FLUTTER' THIS IS WHERE TOO MUCH AIR IS FORCED INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THE AIR IS PUSHED BACK THROUGH THE TURBO. THE TRUCK ACTS AS IF THE BREAKS ARE PULSING. SIMILAR TO THE ABOVE, IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM ACCELERATING, NOT WITH THE ACCELERATOR PUSHED TO THE FLOOR, JUST NORMAL, CONSERVATIVE DRIVING. A FEW OTHER CHANGES I HAVE FOUND AFTER THE AEM, I HAVE LOST SIGNIFICANT FUEL ECONOMY, GREATER THAN 10%, AND DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) CONSUMPTION IS SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER. THESE LAST 2 ITEMS DO NOT DIRECTLY EFFECT THE DRIVABILITY OF MY TRUCK BUT IF I HAD KNOW THESE THINGS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED AFTER THE RECALL, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE RECALL PERFORMED.
