MY SON'S RAM 1500 ROLLED FORWARD WHILE IN PARK DAMAGING OUR GARAGE DOOR. WE JUST HEARD ABOUT THIS VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND IT SOUNDS LIKE WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS SITUATION.
ME AND MY FAMILY (MY WIFE & 2 KIDS: MY OLDEST IS 7 & MY YOUNGEST IS 3) WERE ON A FISHING TRIP. WHEN RETURNING TO THE BOAT LAUNCH, I BACKED MY BOAT TRAILER INTO THE WATER WITH MY TRUCK. THE BACK TIRES OF MY TRUCK ARE ABOUT 2 FEET AWAY FROM THE WATER. I PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK AND SET MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. MY WIFE AND YOUNGEST SON GOT INTO THE TRUCK AND BEGAN TO BUCKLE THEIR SEAT BELTS AS I SET MY BOAT ONTO THE TRAILER. MY OLDEST STAYED ON THE LAND. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF MY TRUCK MOTOR RUNNING, WHILE STILL IN PARK, AND WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. MY WIFE, WHO IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, HEARS SOMEWHAT OF A POP NOISE AND MY TRUCK STARTS BACKING INTO THE WATER. MY WIFE AND YOUNGEST SON ARE NOW RACING TO GET OUT OF THEIR SEAT BELTS AS THE TRUCK IS STARTING TO SLOWLY SINK. ONCE MY WIFE GRABS OUR SON AND SITS HIM BY HER, I AM ABLE TO GET TO THE DOOR THEY ARE BY AND I AM PULLING ON THE DOOR, IN WATER THAT IS UP TO MY CHIN DEEP, AS SHE IS KICKING THE DOOR AND HOLDING THE HANDLE OF THE DOOR. THE DOOR OPENS AND I GRAB MY SON AND WIFE AND WE SWAM TO THE BOAT LAUNCH. IT IS UNKNOWN OF WHERE THE POP NOISE CAME FROM. MY WIFE SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS RELEASED. MY TRAGEDY IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. I HAVE NO RECORDS AS OF YET LIKE MY POLICE REPORT. IT IS STILL BEING HANDLED WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. AS OF PICTURES, I HAVE ONE THAT I AM TRYING TO GET FROM THE GUY WHO CAME TOW MY TRUCK. I WILL HAVE ALL THESE DOCUMENTS WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT. THE PERSON WHO HIT ME WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. I WAS STATIONARY WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT BROKE CAUSING THE BACK PORTION TO SLAM INTO THE REAR SEAT AND THE BOTTOM TO COMPLETELY RAISE UP. AS A RESULT I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE CAUSING SOME SECONDARY DAMAGE. IF THERE HAD BEEN A PERSON IN THE BACK SEAT THEY WOULD OF HAD CATASTROPHIC INJURIES AS THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED BY THE DRIVER SEAT. THE AIRBAGS WERE EMITTING A "GAS" BUT THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I DO NOT HAVE PHOTOS OF THE SEAT BUT THE BRUNSWICK COUNTY EMS DID TAKE PHOTOS OF THE SEAT. AND I AM SURE THEY CAN PROVIDE IF FURTHER INVESTIGATION IS WARRANTED.
I AM WRITING WITH CONCERN I HAVE FOR A POSSIBLE VEHICLE DEFECT WITH A 2014 RAM 1500 4X4. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORPORATE AND HAVE RECEIVED LITTLE TO NO HELP. I HAVE BEEN BASICALLY TOLD THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND HAVE TECHNICIANS WORKING TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT THE NEITHER SERVICING DEALER NOR CORPORATE CAN REPAIR. IT HAS BEEN IN THEIR REPAIR SHOP 4 TIMES. MY LAST VISIT I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT MADE BECAUSE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AND TO 'DRIVE IT TILL IT BECAME WORSE OR MORE CONSISTENT.' THEIR MECHANIC AND SERVICE PERSONNEL HAVE HEARD THE NOISE AS WELL BUT CANNOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE NOISE IS A HIGH PITCH SQUEAL AT A DOWN SHIFT FROM THE 2ND GEAR TO 1ST GEAR. MY CONCERN IS THAT I HAVE ASKED THE SERVICING DEALER AND THE CASE MANAGER WITH CHRYSLER CORPORATE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. REGARDLESS OF THE DOWNSHIFT SQUEAL BEING FROM 2ND GEAR TO 1ST GEAR, SHOULD THERE BE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHAT WILL HAPPEN? THEY WILL NOT ANSWER THIS QUESTION. IF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, THEY NEED TO MAKE ME THE CONSUMER AWARE AND REPAIR AS NEEDED. I HAVE ASKED THEM TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND HAVE BEEN TOLD EVERY REASON WHY THEY CANNOT. I FEEL THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IS AT POTENTIAL RISK. I HAVE ATTACHED MY CORRESPONDENCE WITH CHRYSLER FOR YOUR REVIEW INCLUDING THE SERVICING DEALER DOCUMENTS AND THE CORPORATE CASE MANAGER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500 EQUIPPED WITH FIRESTONE DESTINATION A/T TIRES, SIZE: P275/60R20 (NA). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE SIDEWALL CRACKED AND SEPARATED AT THE SEAM, EXTENDING UP TO THE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE TIRE WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. THE VIN AND VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER AN UNKNOWN NHTSA CAMPAIGN REGARDING THE CAM LOCK, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS COMPLETED BY ZEIGLER CHRYSLER, JEEP, RAM, DODGE (3939 STADIUM DR., KALAMAZOO, MI 49008, (269) 375-4500). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,614.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHEN THE TRAILER LIGHTS WERE PLUGGED INTO THE OUTLET, THEY FAILED TO OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
BRAKES ARE NOT NEEDED TO SHIFT VEHICLE INTO DRIVE REVERSE ETC. THIS CAN BE DONE WHEN YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME DURING THE DAY. KEY IS ALSO NO NECESSARY TO 0LACE VEHICLE INTO GEAR!
CATASTROPHIC EXHAUST GAS RECORD VALVE (EGR) AND EGR COOLER FAILURES WHICH RESULTED IN PLASTIC INTAKE MANIFOLD FAILURE. EGR COOLER SEVERELY PLUGGED WITH SOOT/CARBON WELL BELOW MILEAGE PERIOD OF FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY. NO SPECIFIED SERVICE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS EGR SYSTEM. DAMAGE RESULTED IN SUBSTANTIAL LOSS OF POWER, UNABLE TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM SPEED ON INTERSTATE 85 WHEN INTAKE MANIFOLD FAILURE OCCURRED. VISIBLE BLACK SMOKE/SOOT WAS BEING EMITTED FROM EXHAUST UNDER ACCELERATION DURING THIS FAILURE, CLEARLY NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH EMISSIONS STANDARDS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER DID NOT ENGAGE AND THE VEHICLE MOVED FORWARD. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE WHEN THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES BEGAN APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS AGO WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURES HAD BECOME WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DOMINION OF BEDFORD (540-586-8221, LOCATED AT 1750 INDEPENDENCE BLVD, BEDFORD, VA 24523) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NO TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND THAT THE VEHICLE PERFORMED AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
AT A RED LIGHT ENGINE IDEAL WENT FROM 800 RPM TO 1500 RPM THEN BACK TO 800 RPM.AFTER GREEN LIGHT STARTED TO DRIVE THEN THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHT CAME ON. UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION OF THE TRUCK HAPPEN COULD NOT SHUT THE ENGINE OFF OR GET THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF DRIVE HAD TO BRAKE VERY HARD AND APPLY PARKING BRAKE TO STOP THE TRUCK. HAD THE WARNING LIGHT FOR ELECTRIC THROTTLE ON THE PANEL FINALLY THE LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE THROTTLE RESPOND NORMALLY. HEADED HOME WHEN THE SAME HAPPEN AGAIN WITH SAME RESULTS NEARLY HAD A ACCIDENT FROM THIS. THEN THE LIGHT WENT OUT WITH TEMPORARY LOST OF BRAKES AND CONTROL OF THE TRUCK.THEN THE THROTTLE RESPONDED NORMALLY UNTIL I GOT HOME AND BUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON ENGINE RPM ACCELERATED TO 2500 RPM UNTIL I COULD TURN THE ENGINE OFF.
There has been an active recall on my vehicle for over 6 years and there still isn't a repair available. I am stuck driving a car that at any moment could be subject to a crash. I have two small children, and while I know recalls happen, not engineering a fix in over 6 years, is ridiculous. Please help
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, there was a delay before the vehicle would operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the fuel pump and the sensor crank shaft tone wheel. The failure reoccurred and became a persistent failure. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) and 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issues. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
2014 RAM ECO DIESEL, FAILS TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE, SOMETIME ACTING AS IF IT IS STUCK IN HIGH GEAR. TOTAL LACK OF THROTTLE RESPONSE. PROBLEM IS RANDOM AND BEGAN AFTER P0401, P1296 & 1297 CEL CODES WERE SET. CREATES SUBSTANTIAL RISK WHEN CROSSING INTERSECTIONS.
LEFT FRONT BRAKE WORN PADS / CAUSING ROTOR DAMAGE AT ~30,000 MILES. DESIGN ISSUE THAT NO WARNING SYSTEM EXIST ON PAD WORN OUT. ON INSPECTION RIGHT FRONT ALSO AFFECTED BUT NOT COMPLETELY WORN OUT. A METHOD OR SYSTEM SHOULD EXIST TO WARN DRIVER TO REPLACE PADS. DEALER TREATS IT AS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR - I BELIEVE IT IS PART OF NHTSA #16V168000 POTENTIALLY USING SAME PARTS FROM SAME SUPPLIER AND SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE. DEALER IS BIG O DODGE IN GREENVILLE SC. THIS VEHICLE HAD A LARGE NUMBER OF RECALLS ALREADY AND ONCE FOR WRONG DIFFERENTIAL INSTALLED WAS OUT OF SERVICE FOR LONGER THAN 3 WEEKS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A LEMON VEHICLE AND SHOULD BE A BUY BACK FROM THE DEALER.
WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE TRUCK WAS GOING DOWN HILL AT A SPEED OF 45 AND HIT ANOTHER CAR ON ITS SIDE. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I HIT THE STEERING WHEEL SO HARD THAT THE SEATBELT RIPPED. ..UPDATED 05/09/17 *BF *AS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. IN ADDITION, THE SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND INDICATED THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT CONNECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V460000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
THE RADIO CONTROLS SO MUCH OF THE VEHICLE COMPONENTS AND SYSTEMS AND I AM NOW ON MY THIRD RADIO UNIT AND STILL HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AND NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED. FUSES BLOWNING, BULBS BLOWING, ETC.
I AM SENDING THIS COMPLAINT REGARDING THE GEAR SELECTOR KNOB THAT I BELIEVE POSES A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE 5 OR 6 TIMES THAT I HAVE EXITED MY VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS RUNNING AND STILL IN GEAR. ON A FEW OCCASIONS I THOUGHT THAT I TURNED THE GEAR SELECTOR KNOB TO PARK WHEN I ACTUALLY TURNED IT TO REVERSE. I OPENED THE DOOR AND BEGAN TO EXIT MY TRUCK WHEN IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. I HAVE A 2010 RAM WITH A NORMAL SHIFT SELECTOR LEVER AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE. I THOUGHT THAT IT MIGHT TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO GET USED TO THE KNOB STYLE, BUT AFTER 20 MONTHS, I AM STILL HAVING ISSUES. I HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHERS WITH THIS STYLE KNOB AND THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. EACH TIME THIS OCCURRED WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY EITHER GETTING THE MAIL OR TO RUN INTO THE GARAGE TO GET SOMETHING. THE TIRES WERE ORIGINAL TIRES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT LIFTED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LINE LEAKED FUEL ONTO THE ENGINE PROFUSELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,165.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER APPROXIMATELY SEVEN TIMES WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING AND WAS DESIGNED TO PERFORM THAT WAY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE DRIVING 80 MPH CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ROLLED OVER THREE TIMES AND LANED ON ALL FOUR TIRES. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES TO THE BACK, NECK, AND RIBS. THE DRIVER ALSO SUFFERED SEVERE HEADACHES. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR INVESTIGATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,236. UPDATED 05/20/16*LJ *TR
OIL FILLER HOUSING.. MY OIL FILLER HOUSING CRACKED AND CAUSED A MAJOR OIL LEAK AND CAUSED OIL TO COVER EVERYTHING ON MY ENGINE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO BE SERVIFED AND WAS TOLD IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM BUT ISN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE AMOUNT OF OIL THAT LEAKED EVERYWHERE COULD HAVE CAUSE A MAJOR FIRE.
AT 38000 MILES THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND REPORTED A "FUEL SENSOR FAILURE". GAS GUAGE READS EMPTY.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after driving for an extended period, the vehicle started to shake with an unknown service warning message displayed. Despite the initial failure, the contact stated that the vehicle resumed normal operation after approximately an hour. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions to have the air compressor replaced under warranty; however, the failure persisted. The contact then switched the settings to regular suspension which appeared to correct the issue. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the intake manifold needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
MY VEHICLE IS 2014 WITH 41,403 MILE. THE WINN MODULE WENT OUT WHERE THE KEY NO LONGER RECOGNIZED WAS RECOGNIZED. I HAD A VIPER REMOTE STARTER INSTALLED BY AN PROFESSIONAL DEALER, AFTER THE INCIDENT THIS DEALER DISCONNECT THE REMOTE AND INSTALLED A NEW REMOTE STARTER. IT WAS TOLD TO ME THAT THIS WAS THE CAUSE. IF THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF THE MODULE FAILING IT WOULD NOT HAVE ALLOWED MY VEHICLE TO RUN FOR OVER 1 1/2 WEEKS AND THE REMOTE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD CONTROL OF ALL THE FUNCTIONS OF MY TRUCK IF IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE REMOTE STARTER. THE REMOTE STARTER IS THE ONLY THING THAT ALLOW THE RAM 1500 TO RUN AS NORMAL. I WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN DONE. I HAD TO PAY $373 TO GET THIS PART REPLACED WHEN ITS A KNOWN ISSUE THEY GO BAD AND THEY GO BAD WITH NO RELATION TO A REMOTE STARTER BEING ADDED TO THE VEHICLE. I FEEL THIS IS UNFAIR FOR CHRYSLER/RAM TO NOT COVER THIS PART AND PUT THE BLAME ON SOMETHING ELSE WHEN ITS A KNOWN DEFECTIVE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM 1500. AFTER DRIVING IN A HEAVY SNOW STORM, THE CONTACT DROVE INTO THE GARAGE AND ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THE PARKING LIGHT FLASHED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO PARK; HOWEVER, THE OTHER GEARS WORKED. THE CHECK TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO PARK. THE DEALER STATED THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME FAILURE. THE SNOW JAMMED THE LINKAGE AND HAD TO BE DEFROSTED. I AM GETTING READY TO HAVE THE THIRD RADIO REPLACED BY DEALER. THE DEALER HAS HAD TO ALSO WORK ON THE REAR WINDOW TWICE WHICH WAS LEAKING SEVERALLY, AND THE DEALER HAS ALSO REPLACED THE SHARK FIN SATELLITE ANTENNA ONCE. I AM ALSO STARTING TO SEE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW MOVING ROUGHLY NOT SMOOTH AS OTHERS THREE WINDOWS STILL ARE SMOOTH OPERATION. I HAVE ALSO HAD FIVE RECALLS SERVICED AND ASSUMED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED OR MAYBE THEY ARE CAUSING THESE OR OTHER ISSUES!
I HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS THE CURRENT RECALL FOR THE CARS AND SUV ROLLING AWAY WHILE IN PARK. I HAVE VIDEO FROM MY DASH CAMERA, THE DEALERSHIP AND CORPORATE OFFICE ALSO HAS THE VIDEO. THEY CLAIM I JUST LEFT IF IN DRIVE, BUT IN THE VIDEO YOU CAN CLEARLY HEAR THE TRUCK SHIFTED INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE STARTS ROLLING APPROXIMATELY 1 AND A HALF MINUTES AFTER I PARKED IT IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CAME BACK OUT OF MY HOUSE TO FIND THE TRUCK HAD SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND HAD CRASHED UP AGAINST MY WORKBENCH IN MY CARPORT. THE TRUCK IS STILL CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STILL CLAIM IT IS OPERATING NORMALLY. (THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM).

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ONTO THE INTERSTATE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND AS I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL DOWN TO GET UP TO SPEED TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC THE ENGINE REVVED VERY FAST BUT THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. OFTEN I AM NOT AWARE THE ENGINE HAS SHUT DOWN, AS POWERED ITEMS SUCH AS THE RADIO CONTINUE TO OPERATE NORMALLY. LEFT 3 MESSAGES BUT NEVER GOT A RETURN CALL. CALLED SOUTH POINT DODGE IN AUSTIN BUT AGAIN NO ANSWER IN SERVICE OR RESPONSE TO MESSAGE. VISITED SOUTH POINT DODGE AND SERVICE MANAGER PUT ME ON EXTENSIVE LIST FOR SERVICE AND SAID SHE WOULD "CALL". NEVER CALLED. HAVE NOW RECEIVED 2ND NOTICE OF RECALL. APPEARS NEITHER WANTS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR RESOLUTION AND I DON'T TRUST EITHER OF THEM ANY LONGER.
I FOUND OUT ABOUT A RECALL BY FCA THAT MY 2014 DODGE RAM ECODIESEL HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE EXHAUST DAMPENER. THIS IS AFTER I STARTED RESEARCHING THE SMELL OF EXHAUST FUMES IN THE CAN WHEN USING THE VEHICLES HEAT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT FCA IS ONLY SENDING THE REPAIR PARTS IN BATCHES AND CANNOT BE ORDERED DIRECTLY FROM FCA. THIS MEANS I MUST WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE IN-STOCK AT THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PROBLEM REPAIRED. I CONTACTED RAM CUSTOMER SERVICE. RAM CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT THE PART SHIPPING ISSUE IS KNOWN BUT THE 'SMELL' IS NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE. I TOLD THEM THAT THE SMELL OF EXHAUST IS DISTINCT AND OBVIOUS. THEY STILL ARGUED THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AS THEIR OWN TESTS DEMONSTRATE THAT THE LEVELS OF EXHAUST DO NOT POSE A SAFETY THREAT--THEY WOULD NOT RESPOND WHEN I STATED IT IS A HEALTH THREAT. AT THIS TIME I STILL CANNOT GET THIS EXHAUST FUME PROBLEM FIXED UNDER FCA'S OWN RECALL SINCE FCA HAS MADE THE REPAIR PARTS AVAILABILITY LIMITED SINCE FCA ONLY SHIPS THE PARTS IN BATCHES NOT BASED ON THE NEED OF THE CUSTOMERS. THE EXHAUST FUMES HAVE CAUSED ME TWO MIGRAINES AND SEVERAL NORMAL HEADACHES WHEN USING THE HEAT ON LONG DRIVES (DISTANCES OVER 30 MILES OR DRIVING TIMES OVER ONE HOUR). THE FCA RECALL IS 'R04'.
