I HAVE HAD 2 INSTANCES WITH THE ROTARY SHIFT ON THIS VEHICLE. IN BOTH CASES I HAD THOUGHT THE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY IN REVERSE.WHEN THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY STOP THE VEHICLE WITHOUT INCIDENT. HOWEVER, WHEN THE SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED I HAD EXITED THE VEHICLE WITH MY WIFE AS A PASSENGER. NEITHER OF US WERE ABLE TO STOP IT AND CONTINUED BACKWARDS AND STRUCK A PARKED VEHICLE THAT WAS PARKED. THIS CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS INJURED AND NOW I AM EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN PUTTING THIS VEHICLE INTO THE PARK MODE. I CHECKED THE PUSH BUTTON IGNITION ASSUMING THAT IN AN EMERGENCY I COULD STOP THE ENGINE BUT FOUND THIS WOULD NOT WORK. IF THE CIRCUMSTANCES WERE A BIT DIFFERENT THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. THE INCIDENT HAPPENED AT A CAR DEALERS LOT WHTH MY VEHICLE BACKING AND STRIKING ON OF THE CARS ON THEIR LOT.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON A LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY PULLED VIOLENTLY TO THE RIGHT. I WAS DRIVING IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE AND THE VEHICLE MADE A EXTREME TURN TO THE RIGHT STRIKING THE GUARDRAIL. THE VEHICLE THEN REBOUNDED OFF THE RAILING CAUSING THE REAR BUMPER TO STRIKE THE RAILING. THE VEHICLE THEN REBOUNDED INTO THE DRIVING LANES BEFORE I COULD REGAIN CONTROL. I THEN PULLED THE VEHICLE ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY TO SURVEY DAMAGE. AT THAT TIME I NOTICED THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL FAULT LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. SINCE THIS WAS A ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH NO INJURIES I DID NOT CONTACT EMERGENCY SERVICES. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH. THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT ON THE ROADWAY. ADDITIONALLY THERE WERE RAIN SHOWERS IN THE AREA AND THE ROADWAY WAS WET, THERE WAS NO POOLING OF WATER AT THE ACCIDENT SITE.THE TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 50 DEGREES AND THE GROUND WAS WARM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V459000 (AIR BAGS) AND 15V517000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. AFTER THE VEHICLE RECEIVED THREE RECALL REPAIRS, IT BEGAN EXPERIENCING VARIOUS FAILURES. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED MORE THAN FIVE TIMES AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED TO WORK CAUSING VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS TO RANDOMLY FLASH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THERE WAS ALSO A STEERING FAILURE IN WHICH THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO WORK AND WATER ENTERED THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE SEALS NOT BEING CORRECTLY INSTALLED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
THE MAIN HEADLAMPS STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. I HAD TO PLAY WITH THE KNOB TO AT 70MPH IN THE DARK TO MAKE THEM WORK AGAIN. THEY MALFUNCTION WHEN THE SWITCH IS SET TO "AUTO." SINCE THEN, THE LIGHTS ALSO TURN THEMSELVES ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN STATIONARY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD MOMENTS AFTER THE DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE ABOVE 30 MPH. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING, THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLICKERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE @ 39,000 KM. ENGINE REPLACED BY FCC. CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE AGAIN @ 58,000 KM LESS THAN 20,000 KM SINCE ORIGINAL ENGINE REPLACED. BOTH TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND HAD TO TAKE EVASIVE MEASURES TO GET OFF HIGHWAY SAFELY.
WHILE DRIVING AROUND 45 MPH I NOTICED THAT THE TRUCK HAD SHIFTED OUT OF DRIVE WHEN I TRIED TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR IT WOULD JUST REV LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT ABOVE THE ROTARY KNOB WAS STILL IN DRIVE BUT WAS BLINKING. ON THE HEADS UP DISPLAY A MESSAGE CAME UP SAYING TO SHIFT TO PARK TO SELECT A GEAR. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED HAVING TO PARK MY TRUCK IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A THREE LANE HIGHWAY TO GET BACK INTO DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW, THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT IN AND THEY OPENED A STAR CASE AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER TO CHANGE THE ELELCTRONIC SHIFTER MODULE. SHORTLY AFTER THAT IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY'RE SAYING THE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO REPLACE AND CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. BOTH TIMES THEY STATE THAT THEY CAN'T FIND ANY CODES AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REPLICATE PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME THE PROBLEM CAME UP THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 11,000 MILES ON IT.

WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED AT THE DEALER FOR THE REPAIR, SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
WHILE DRIVING ON MY STREET MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED KNOCKING ME OUT AND THEN DROVE INTO TREES DESTROYING THE TRUCK AND LEAVING ME WITH HEAD INJURIES AND MANY OTHER AFFECTS.
DRIVING ON LEVEL ROAD AT 30-35 MPH WHEN AIRBAG WENT OFF WITHOUT WARNING OR REASON KNOCKING ME UNCONSCIOUS. TRUCK WENT OFF ROAD ACROSS FIELD AND HIT TREES AT GREATER SPEED TOTALING THE TRUCK AND GIVING ME HEAD INJURIES. TRUCK HAD RECALL ON IT FOR AIRBAG ON DRIVERS SIDE GOING OFF DUE TO SOME WIRING HARNESS PROBLEM. HAD TAKEN TRUCK INTO DEALERSHIP THE DAY BEFORE ACCIDENT TO HAVE RECALLS TAKEN CARE OFF. I GUESS NOT !!
2014 RAM 1500 DRIVING AT 48 MPH, TIRE HAS A CATASTROPHIC BLOWOUT. THE TIRE BLEW FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER IN A STRAIGHT LINE. GOOD THING THIS WAS ON A TWO LANE ROAD AND NOT ON A INTERSTATE AT 75 TO 8O MPH HERE IN TEXAS IS ALLOWED. IF THIS HAPPENED ON A INTERSTATE I WOULD NOT BE HERE TO WRITE THIS. NOW I HAVE CHECK WITH MY TIRE DEALER, HE SAID THIS IS NOT THE FIRST ONE HE HAS SEEN. HE SENT THIS TIRE TO GOODYEAR.THEN I GOOGLED THIS AND MORE SHOWED UP.I THINK GOODYEAR SHOULD RECALL THESE WRANGLER P275/60 R20 SA AND ANY OTHER THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN TO. MAYBE RAM SHOULD GO TO SOME OTHER TIRE FOR THEIR REPUTATION. I HOPE NO ONE HAS BEEN KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS TIRE FAILURE. PICTURE INCLUDED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND THE TIRE CAUSING THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WAS ONE INJURY REPORTED THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
I PURCHASED A 2014 DODGE RAM 1500 AND IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 22000 MILES I'VE HAD 3 FLAT TIRES WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS ALL FOUR TIRES HAVE LITTLE TREAD LEFT AND WONDERING IF THERE IS ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OR RECALLS ON THESE TIRES THE GOODYEAR WRANGLERS SRA.

ON THE THIRD VISIT, THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO SOLUTION AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
I STARTED MY VEHICLE MID SEPTEMBER TO GO TO THE STORE TO REALIZE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN 4TH GEAR. I CHECKED THE WEBSITE FOR RECALLS AND THERE WERE 3. NON OF WHICH HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THEM REPAIRED WHICH TOOK ALMOST A MONTH. I DROPPED THE TRUCK OFF TUESDAY THE 20TH OF OCTOBER AND IT IS STILL THERE. THEY SAY THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED BUT THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE IS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 6,000 MILES.

THEN BEGAN THE SAGA OF TRYING TO GET SUSPENSION CORRECTED. FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND TIRE ROTATION WAS PERFORMED AT 7,035 MILES, FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS FOUND TO BE OUT OF SPEC. (THIS SERVICE WAS PERFORMED AT AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE FACILITY.) AT 9.803 DETECTED SAME WEAR PATTERN, ALIGNMENT WAS IN SPEC.BY SAME INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY. RAM CUSTOMER CARE DIRECTED ME TO DAYTONA DODGE, ANOTHER ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED, HOWEVER TRACKING ON ROAD WAS IMPAIRED. AT 10,450 MILES. RAM CUSTOMER CARE DIRECTED ME TO FLAGLER DODGE WHERE ANOTHER ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED, FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS OUT OF SPEC AND CORRECTED AT 10,608 MILES. TIRE IRREGULAR TIRE WEAR CONTINUED, RAM CUSTOMER CARE SUGGESTED A FOUR WHEEL ROAD FORCE TIRE BALANCE, WHICH I PAID FOR AT MY OWN EXPENSE. WEIGHT ADJUSTMENT OF 1/4 OZ ON THREE WHEELS AND 1/2 OZ ON ONE WHEEL, NO CHANGE IN TIRE WEAR. FILED NOTICE OF DEFECTIVE VEHICLE WITH MFG. MFG. HAD THEIR FINAL ATTEMPT TO REPAIR AT 13,019 MILES. CHECKED UNDER BODY FOR DAMAGE, NONE REPORTED, TEST DROVE, NORMAL TRACKING, ORDERED ALIGNMENT, WAS FOUND TO BE IN SPEC. HAD LEMON LAW ARBITRATION BOARD HEARING SCHEDULED FOR 8/27/15, MFG. THE ONLY RECALL I WAS INFORMED ABOUT WAS R40/NHTSA 15V-461, AND I ONLY RECEIVED THAT LAST WEEK IN THE MAIL. I HAVE NEVER BEEN INFORMED VIA MAIL, EMAIL, OR PHONE OF ANY OF THE OTHER RECALLS. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A SMOOTH STRAIGHT ROAD, THE EMERGENCY INFORMATION SCREEN IN MY GAUGE CLUSTER STARTED FLASHING AND STATED "SERVICE POWER STEERING" "SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKE SYSTEM" "SERVICE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROLLER" "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" IT ALSO STATED TO NOT SHIFT TO PARK AS SHIFTING MAY BECOME INOPERABLE ONCE STOPPED. MY POWER STEERING WAS GONE, MY GAS PEDAL WAS INOPERABLE AND BRAKING WAS VERY WEAK. I HAD TO MUSCLE THE TRUCK TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SLOWLY COME TO A STOP AND SHIFTED INTO PARK. I TURNED THE KEY FOB TO OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER. NOW, MY KEY FOB WAS ALSO STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WOULD NOT TURN TO THE OFF POSITION TO REMOVE THE KEY. I CALLED CHRYSLER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND SAT ON HOLD FOR 55 MINUTES BEFORE THE FIRST PERSON ANSWERED THE PHONE. AFTER 10-15 MIN WE HAD A TOW TRUCK SET UP BUT THAT WOULDN'T BE THERE FOR ANOTHER 75 MINUTES. SO FROM THE TIME I CALLED TO WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ACTUALLY ARRIVED IT WAS ALMOST 2.5 HOURS! GOOD THING IT WASN'T THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION MODULE. THAT WASN'T THE PROBLEM. THEN THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE BCM. THAT DIDN'T WORK AS THEY NOW "ONLY HAVE COMMUNICATION WITH HALF OF THE VEHICLE". I'M STILL NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEANS BUT THAT'S WHERE WE ARE AT DAY 7. I DO NOT WANT THIS VEHICLE BACK. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT IF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS NO IDEA HOW TO PROPERLY FIX IT OR EVEN KNOW IF THEY HAVE PROPERLY FIXED IT WITH THEIR GUESS AND CHECK METHODS. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING AT HIGHER SPEEDS OR PULLING A TRAILER WHEN THIS HAPPENED, THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTEROUS! OR EVEN WORSE IF MY WIFE HAD BEEN DRIVING IN 4WD AND LOST POWER STEERING THERE IS NO WAY SHE COULD HAVE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER SAFELY. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT I WANT NO PART OF. THIS IS ON TOP OF THE 5+ RECALLS.
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PRIVATE DRIVEWAY ONTO A PUBLIC STREET AND NEARING THE END OF MY REVERSING I HIT THE BRAKES AND USING THE ROTARY GEAR SELECTOR SELECTED "D" FOR DRIVE, THE "D" ILLUMINATED AND BEGAN BLINKING THINKING THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE I LOOKED AHEAD OF ME TO PROCEED FORWARD BUT THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND STRUCK A PARKED CAR. I HAVE SINCE NOTICED THAT THE GEAR SELECTOR UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS WILL SHOW IT IS IN "D" "R" OR "P" WHEN IN FACT IT BLINKS AND THAT GEAR IS NOT SELECTED.

I'VE OWNED 4 CHRYSLER/DODGE VEHICLES 98 AVENGER, 99 RAM 1500, 03 300 M AND NOW 2014 RAM 1500 WHICH EVERYONE HAS HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I HAVE NOT PUT MONEY INTO MY NEW TRUCK YET BUT HAVE PUT THOUSANDS INTO OTHER VEHICLES BEFORE I SOLD THEM FOR LESS THAN BLUE BOOK JUST TO BE RID OF ALL THE ISSUES. I BOUGHT MY CURRANT TRUCK NEW IN JUNE 2014, I FIRST BEGAN NOTICING GLITCHES LATE SUMMER 2015 AND NOW THERE ARE ELECTRIC SURGES, FAULT INDICATORS THAT ARE FINE AND LIGHTS WILL NOT SHUT OFF KILLING MY BATTERY. I BOUGHT NEW THIS TIME ASSUMING I WOULD ELIMINATE THESE ISSUES BUT I WAS WRONG, MY TRUCK HAS HAD NO ACCIDENTS OF ANY SORT AND YET I HAVE A $35,000 TRUCK THAT'S UNRELIABLE AS WELL AS UNSAFE. GOT A CALL 2 DAYS LATER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE UPPER SHAFT AND BEARING THAT NEEDED TO BE REPACED ALSO, SO NOW THEY HAVE MY CAR FOR 4 DAYS. I CALL ON DAY 5 AND THEY TELL ME IT WONT BE READY AND THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN IT WAS SO I DO NOT HAVE MY TRUCK OVER THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND THEY ARE CLOSED MONDAY LABOR DAY. I CALL ON TUESDAY SEPT.8, 2015 AND AM TOLD THEY HAD TO ORDER AND WILL BE REPLACING THE RACK AND PINION SET UP IN THE STEERING . I DO NOT BELIVE THEY KNOW WHAT IS WRONG AND ARE GOING TO REPLACE ALL THE COMPONETS TILL THEY FIND THE SOURCE OF THE NOISE.
