Still waiting on a call back from the dealer for the HPFP recall. Been almost 9 months now. Anyway this can be resolved before the truck stops running? I commute to work with it everyday.
High pressure fuel pump may fail prematurely. Recall dated June 9, 2022 and after more than a year there is still no remedy.
The reason for the submission is regarding the unresolved safety recall, NHTSA Recall Number22V-406. Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Summary Some 2014-2020 MY Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine may have been built with a high pressure fuel pump ("HPFP") that could fail prematurely. A HPFP failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation. Safety Risk Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning.
There is a safety recall on this vehicle, recall number 22V-406, issued in June 2022, which still has no remedy. We are concerned about the safety of this vehicle and my wife has had many instances where she was trying to accelerate into traffic, and the vehicle stalled. This has been an ongoing issue, and we are afraid one day this will lead to an accident. I believe 2 years is more than enough time for a remedy to this to have been found. I have spoken to the service department at my local Ram dealership, and all they tell me is that the parts are not available. This is unacceptable, and we need this resolved.

The contact made several attempts to start the vehicle. The dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 200,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Safety recall 22V-406 was issued over two years ago, on 6-9-2022. The manufacturer is negligent, in that it has not addressed the problem and repaired the vehicle in a timely manner. The local dealer indicates they have no idea when the manufacturer will attempt to address the problem.
The exhaust manifold screws are broken causing damage to the entire manifold. This is a common issue with Rams known as the “hemi tick” which results in the lifters ticking do to a a design flaw that doesn’t allow oil to properly lubricate the reservoir.

The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer local dealer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 80,000.
When I leave my vehicle off for a few days the battery will drain and I come to a vehicle with no power to start the vehicle. I did some research online and found out people are saying it is the TIPM commanding the fuel pump to stay on even with they key set to off. I can confirm this fuel pump has to be on because some days my vehicle will take longer to start. I did my own investigation of the matter and found out it’s not my starter or no engine related components as well as lights that can drain a battery. I feel like Mopar should of discovered this and do a recall on this issue because someone can also have the same issue.

The Electronic Power Steering "Service Power Steering" warning light has come on my 2015 Dodge Ram Big Horn and the electronic power steering is not functioning creating a safety hazard. I am the original purchaser of the vehicle. The vehicle has 29,379 original miles. The vehicle was assembled in February of 2015. Numerous vehicles were recalled (recall S19) that were manufactured between January and September 2015 due to a contaminated circuit board. I contacted the dealer where I purchased the vehicle (Jeff D'Ambrosio Dodge Chrysler, Downingtown, PA) and I was told that my vehicle was not included in the recall and that my warranty has expired. I will be contacting FIAT Chrysler Monday morning. I feel as though this is a major safety hazard similar to the recall and with the low mileage on the vehicle the manufactured should replace the unit FREE OF CHARGE. Dealer would not order the parts until consumer paid for them up front. Upon paying $2,327.75 for the part consumer was then informed that the parts were not available due to a nationwide shortage and they don’t know when they will receive them.
As I was driving to work I noticed a noise coming from under / middle of the truck. Once parked I looked underneath and realized my front fuel tank strap had rusted off and my tank was hanging low and held by only the rear strap.
Power steering assist failure.
While pulling a loaded trailer I was going around a right-hand bend in the road at about 35mph and the steering locked up throwing us off the road into a ditch. Thank God it did not throw us into oncoming traffic. Couldn't move the steering wheel at all with two men trying together. Required a tow truck to move to dealer. Also having issues getting the cruise to engage.
Extra force needed to steer
Power steering doesn't work when turning, especially at slow speeds. A recall was done for a problem with circuit board chip, but dealer claims my truck doesn't qualify
catastrophic engine failure due to the failed high pressure fuel pump, last year march 2022 my truck started stalling then lost all power to the engine the truck would not start . i took the truck to my mechanic where he Found no crank signal while engine cranking and sounded to be out of time. he Tested fuel flow from lift pump and found it to be correct. Tested injector weep line return flow and found no return this is normal ,Tested fuel flow regulator at high pressure pump and also found no return while cranking this is normal. These test indicated that the high pressure pump has fail. Installed new high pressure pump and still no pressure. Removed pump and noticed it had not rotated from its timed installed location. This indicated that the drive gear is not rotating the pump and there is internal damage to engine. this damage happened due to the filed fuel pump.
A warrantied part that was previously tried to fix my guess is prior to warranty due to the emissions lying from FCA and resulting ecodiesel settlement. So I purchased without that information being disclosed to me and know they are refusing a warrantied repair on the emissions component. Even thought the settlement covers said part.
I have yet to have this issue, but by how it handles anymore it may be soon. But I've seen a lot of people having to replace their entire top end of their engines do to the mds system. The system will shut off some of the cylinders. The mds system that chrysler puts on these trucks causes oil to be shut off to the lifters. Due to the lack of oil this causes major repair issues that keep the truck from running, such as cam shaft failure, and valve failure. If there was to be an mds failure when someone is driving it could cause harm to them and possibly other people because they would lose power to major components such as power steering. This could be a liability since I'm sure there have been several engine replacements on record with them that's under warranty and that's not including not under warranty.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 - 45 MPH and making a turn, the vehicle lost power steering assist inadvertently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle however, extra effort was needed to steer the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering) because the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed the dealer information. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
2015 RAM 1500. CONSUMER STATED THAT THEIR TRUCK WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER ADVISED THE ABS BRAKE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. Air suspension system fails in cold weather. Thousands of confirmed cases. https://www.facebook.com/groups/292298311479202 A class action in Canada. A whole business is taking advantage of removing these parts. airdelete.com My air suspension leaked out during a trip, warning lights, vehicle's air suspension dropped to the frame. No suspension resulted in a very bumpy, dangerous immediate driving conditions. Once the drive became bumpy, two hops for every bump in the road. Steering became difficult due to driver instability. Passengers became sick, vomiting due to bumpy ride. Passengers became unstable, hitting head on ceiling even while seat belted.
Power steering failure Comes and goes
With only 68,000 miles on the vehicle the engine has experienced a cam failure causing a fire and explosion hazard. Gas backfires through the carb, engine shakes really bad at idle, and engine misses while applying power to the engine going down the road at all speeds. Ten thousands of hemi engine failures reported on online forums. Also had to replace both exhaust manifolds around 50k miles. The bolts cracked and gave way. Ten of thousands of this issue reported online forums as well. Truck was bought as a demo with 2k on the vehicle at Edie Chrysler Bismarck ND.
This truck has electric power steering, which happens to stiff up when driving sometimes. it can go with days not happening then come back, I restart the truck and everything seems to work fine until you start to drive for a short distance. I checked my u clamps ball joints ect.. all looks great, only thing left is the power steering motor.
The ABS control module has failed over a year ago and factory replacement parts are unavailable. Mopar dealers advise they are on backorder with no expected delivery date. The failure of this unit disables the Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control and Electronic Speed Control.
Smoke coming from top of motor by fuel line cause a fire

Truck automatically goes in neutral while driving and displays message shift to p then desired gear. Other times it says shift to p to start. Happens while driving on highways and roads. No engine light to diagnose problem
Front Fuel tank strap ripped out of the frame do to corrosion causing the front of the gas tank to drop almost 6 inches. I live in New York and read that the same issue has occurred on the Ram 1500 from 2009 to 2012
1) engine 2) yes 3) No 4) Police and fire chief...waiting on Insurance 5) electronic throttle control error light - repaired 1/20/22 driving home from work (about 35 mile drive) and 2.5 miles from home - engine made a LOUD/LARGE pop and the engine died....drifted to side of road where the inside immediate filled with smoke. Got out and the engine was on fire and within a matter of minutes the entire front end was ingulfed in flames. I find it interesting that I found and article from Ram "Ram Recalls 108,000 EcoDiesel Pickup Trucks over Fire Risk - 2014-2019 trucks...out truck is a 2015 Why we never informed of this potential deadly issue? My husband could have been killed as quickly as this all happened, and wiht no prior warranty, and for it to fully engulf so quickly https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a29622403/ram-1500-recall-ecodiesel-pickup-trucks/?fbclid=IwAR2_75MVCiq4C8Ab_ANM7XV3JNhbTGuM6UNSGTdyCM62tRMG9eLeFKemlmc#:~:text=Fiat%20Chrysler%20Automobiles%20(FCA)%20has,or%20any%20gasoline%2Dpowered%20trucks

Especially at slow speeds steering is stiff and hard to turn. It is especially dangerous cornering as it tends to stay in direction of turn. I'm scheduled to have this looked at by the Dealership 2/07/22.
The rear passenger tail light assembly keeps shorting out. The bulb has been replaced, the assembly has been replaced, no water is leaking into the assembly, and repair/replacement only temporarily fixes the problem. Vehicle has been inspected by a mechanic who had seen this problem before, but was unaware of an actual fix for the problem. We have been advised that this reoccurring problem could potentially cause a fire from electrical malfunction.
The back up camera may or may not work. yes 2 It would be easy to back over a small child. 3 The problem was reported to a dealer and was told it could be a bad wire or a faulty radio system that would be expensive to repair.4 no 5 It began to mostly not work a couple years back
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving and attempting to accelerate to pass another vehicle, the vehicle went into limp mode. The vehicle was shaking and shifting gears erratically. The driver was able to decelerate to avoid an accident. The engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was working as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Recall 16v-167 has been issued. However, my ram has the exact power steering problems of intermittently locking up while driving at 65,000 miles. The vin spectrum is not broad enough.
The service air suspension display comes on and instantly goes out with no stored codes according to dealership. While driving the rear air bags dump (deflate) completely empty. There has been times where this has happened at 70 MPH other times it has happened at 35-55 MPH. This causes the truck to bounce violently and have sway side to side when going over bridges and bumps. When I took it to dealership I was told they could not duplicate the issue, even after having it for 3-4 weeks. Again this doesn’t happen all of the time day in day out, it’s random for no apparent reason. This is a huge safety issue not just for me and my family but everyone on the road. Sometimes if you stop at a light or along the road it will air back up to normal ride height but on 12/18/2021 it would not air up.
Power Steering Assist is random. The steering is difficulty randomly changes between easy to difficult causing unexpected steering changes. This Electronic Power Steering (EPS) unit is NOT part of a similar recall (NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000); however, the symptoms are identical. This EPS unit serial number is TIC3394C5021

The tailgate fell open while I was driving December 1, 2021. I had closed the tailgate before pulling onto the roadway. I noticed a thump & stopped to check what had caused the noise. This had happened several weeks before & I thought maybe I had not closed the tailgate properly. This problem was supposed to have been fixed in a previous recall. Why would this happen again?

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The vehicle has 58,000 miles on it. The vehicles has developed a manifold exhaust leak on the passenger side causing exhaust fumes to enter the cabin. Multiple online complaints have dubbed the issue the hemi tick. With so many vehicles exhaust manifolds failing and allowing exhaust fumes into the cabin I’m requesting a recall to have Chrysler repair at no charge to their customers an ongoing issue with their exhaust manifold leaks that could potentially cause harm or death to the occupants in the vehicle. I also have a 2010 Chrysler town and country with the exact same issue as my 2015 ram 1500.
