The contact owns a 2015 Ram1500. The contact stated that while he was starting the vehicle, he heard an abnormal noise from the front passenger’s side of the engine. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that two bolts on the manifold needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
My vehicle has been wait-listed for the EGR re-call parts since August 17, 2020. The dealer claims they receive 1-2 repair kits a week. Other dealers within 50 miles say the same. As a CA resident, I can now no longer register my vehicle until the VB1/NHTSA 19V-757 repair is complete. In CA, a smog test is required every 2 years, I have completed this (PASSED), but my registration, although paid in full, has been held pending the re-call repair. I currently have an appointment to hopefully secure another 60 registration extension, otherwise, my vehicle would be subject to citation and/or impound based on incomplete registration. The dealer informed me that I am approx. 3-4 months away in the que for repairs. Basically, I need relief from the mandate within CA based on the unforgiving and unrealistic policy that California Air Resources Board(CARB) and DMV have imposed and lack of oversite related to production/distribution of the re-call part kits.
The abs module is throwing lights which then of course disables my cruise control. Also with no antilock brakes it definitely puts not only myself but others at risk in the case I have to stop quickly or on lwet/slick roads. We have had it to a shop and have a quoted price of 2500 to fix. I had no problems whatsoever with this until I started the truck one morning and the lights came on. Upon further research I have seen this is a problem with alot of Dodge trucks which leads me to believe that we need to revisit the part.
The ABS went out on my truck 3 years ago and Ram/Mopar quit making the part. I am stuck with a $50,000 rock because their part has first been on back order and now no longer manufactured. My truck was 7 years old when this started. I cannot afford to go buy a new truck! I could find a used one and maybe get it flashed but people are charging $800 for a used part and no guarantee that it can be flashed to work in my truck, because Ram decided to make everything proprietary. I really don’t trust the rebuilt ones from China. This is a really bad situation and really should be illegal. I have read online many people that are having the same issue as myself. Thank you for your attention to this matter. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Electronic fuel sensor failed at 47k miles. Sensor contact wears away from friction and falsely reports a empty tank, when fuel is present. Vehicle operator has no idea how much fuel is in the tank at any time. Thousands of testimonials online of the same issue. Ramforum.com, ramforumz.com and Youtube.com all have complaints and how to videos.
About a dozen times the accelerator pedal sticks to the floor. The pedal stays depressed even when my foot is not on it anymore. The vehicle races uncontrollably as fast as it can. Occasionally a red warning light with a thunderbolt displays on the dash. I have not taken it to the dealer because it is no longer under warranty but, I have replaced the throttle body and it made no difference. Also I have checked the NHTS website for recalls. My original factory floor mat does not go under pedal so as not to be the culprit. When the pedal sticks to the floor I must place the toe of my shoe on the side of the the accelerator pedal and lift it up. This stops the acceleration and the red warning light goes off. The sticking pedal has occurred about a dozen times and has only happened over the last 18 months. The safety problem is becoming more frequent. On Monday while taking my daughter to school I pulled out onto the highway from a stop sign and quickly accelerated. Upon reaching the 45 mph speed limit I let off the accelerator pedal but the pedal stayed depressed. My Ram truck quickly accelerated to 72 mph all the while I had to weave around a car to avoid an accident. The warning light did not come on this time. I have tried braking but this only slows the vehicle slightly. When releasing the brake the truck accelerates full throttle again. Lifting up on the accelerator pedal is the only thing that works. The sticking pedal has only occurred when accelerating rapidly.
The contact owns a 2015 RAM 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked with her sitting in the passenger’s side seat, the transmission inadvertently shifted into drive and the vehicle began to rollaway. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact shifted the vehicle into park and the vehicle stopped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact referenced NHTSA Action Number: PE16014. The contact stated that while she was preparing to make a turn from a complete stop, the steering wheel inadvertently lost power steering functionality. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle regained power steering functionality. The contact continued to drive the vehicle. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering). The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
I was driving down the road when the air suspension went out. My truck started bouncing and I almost lost control of my truck. I had to pull over and see what the issue was. The air suspension works whe. It wants too. It's very dangerous driving on the freeway when the suspension goes out.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated when he started the vehicle a warning light flashed on the instrument panel, that within the next 120 miles the vehicle would be unable to be restarted and to take the vehicle to be serviced. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the dealer stated that the manufacturer had sent a computer code for the catalytic converter (code P20EE). The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. When the contact returned to the dealer, he was informed that the code was incorrect. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
We have intermittent loss of power steering resulting in hard steering and then coming back on, resulting in easy steering with no warning. We have checked connections under the vehicle at the steering unit and they are good and clean. We had an analyzer hooked up to check and it said no communication with the module. I see online this has happened frequently on these vehicles and feel it is a safety concern that FCA should address. I talked to FCA service and they said there are no open recalls on this vehicle. This happens at all speeds and was rarely happening but increasing in frequency for the last couple of months. Please respond to me at my E-mail ([XXX]) Thank you, sincerely [XXX], maintenance manager @ Precision Electrical Contractors LLC INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I bought this vehicle used in December 2019 from J.L Freed Honda in Montgomeryville Pa. Truck had about 78,000 miles on it. I noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine when it was started cold. Salesman advised that it was nothing to worry about and is common with RAM trucks until they warm up. Sure enough within a minute the ticking subsided. I purchased the truck and the ticking has continued when started cold. I recently had the truck inspected and was advised that the ticking was a manifold exhaust leak that will only get worse over time and is an emissions issue as well as a safety issue. I started to research the issue on line and found that the leak is caused by broken manifold bolts. It is well documented in online Forums for Dodge RAM and it appears to be a known issue with the Manufacturer but no resolution or recall has been issued. It has obviously caused much frustration for RAM owners of the 5.7 Hemi engine as detailed in the RAM Forum. The repairs are costly and with the problem being as common as it is with no resolution or help from the manufacturer, please review for possible recall.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the engine. After driving the vehicle for a while, the ticking noise started to fade and was less noticeable. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the exhaust manifold bolts were defective, causing an exhaust leak around the gasket. The mechanic recommended that the manifold be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V632000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The dealer had been notified about the recall; however, the contact was informed that the part was not yet available. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Mins after buying the dodge ram 1500 truck with only 77,000 miles on truck.. The check engine light came on and was locking itself in 4th gear and when returned to dealership they found it was the transmission shifter solenoid which was around a $700.00 to fix. I told dealership I wanted to return the truck if it was already having major issues but they said It was under 30 day warranty and reassured me that it was a great truck and fixed under warranty. Then in Feb 2022 still under 100,000 miles it started driving rough and in same day I went to get oil change and asked if they could look at the truck. Immediately they said it was deadly to drive any further and said it must be a manufacture defect because not only was the axel broke at less than 100,000 miles but the piece being the intermediate axel shaft was broke as well and needed to be replaced immediately and that this was very rare to have happen on any vehicle this early in milage. This costing us around $1000.00 to fix in autoshop. Both incidents happened 1st time mins after buying truck in Aug 2021 then second time barely 6 months later and still under 100,000 miles
Received notice august 20, 2021 its been over six months and remedy not yet available. I drive with my wife and grand kids in vehicle. Letter states material being propelled into the vehicle may cause injury to vehicle occupants. Thank you for any help in this matter.

The EPS(Electronic Power Steering) get a little bit hard at slow speed and sometimes you need to use more hand power to steer the vehicle. You can turn off and turn back on the truck and the problem is gone, you dont know when is going to happen again. Normally when you trun on the vehicle in the morning the steering wheel system is a bit hard and you can feel that it get stuck for a moment and then release. There is no message in the dash or any light on. I have not take the truck to any dealer to verify the problem. I did a research and there were a recall for some 2015-2016 models but my VIN is not in that list. I also know that this is happening to more people with a 2015 model but still is not a recall. Do we need to wait until someone crash or have a major issue to consider this a recall,

Three time now a high pressure fuel line has cracked. I do not have the lines but have two dealer documentations of the failure. I would say that our safety was severly compromised as there is no warning light and fuel is leaking like crazy. The failure was notice all three times by watching the fuel gauge move like a speedometer and then seeing a vapor trail out the side mirrors. The vehicle was coated in diesel fuel on all three occurances. Dealers do not seem to think there is anything wrong....just bad luck. First occurance was 05/15/2018 Second occurance was 09/17/2019 Latest occurance was 08/09/2021 Vehicle was taken in 10/02/2018 because the smell of diesel was in the cab of the truck. All occurance are documented by a dealer except for the first. A small shop soldered the line so we could get home.
Started have a ticking sound coming from engine compartment that will go away when truck runs & heats up. Now getting exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment that goes away also then the ticking stops. Learned that this is a very frequent issue with the Dodge Ram 1500's Manifold bolts braking and the heat shield vibrating and along with exhaust leak. i can't comprehend why this wouldn't be a recall issue due to the harmful exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment. this issue need to be looked into, and research shows there have been an extensive amount of complaints which have not corrected the issue..looking for next steps to take to get this done
Engine light on. Code P26AB. 3 way cooling valve malfunction. Valve controls heat to core and defrost. Replaced valve with OEM part bought a dealership. Valve working providing heat and defrost working. Engine light will not come off. Code erased and light comes back on. Dodge dealership unable to determine cause. Is the valve triggered by an emissions issue that will affect the performance of the engine? Is it a software issue? There’s no recall on this issue and this is coming out of pocket. The vehicle is currently at a Dodge dealership and being inspected. So far there isn’t a solution.

W58 recall inspection completed. Chrysler states W68 recall does not apply to vehicle because the part affected was not made at or at the time of the part (tone ring on fly wheel) was not at the location or time as others which are eligible for the recall. Initially EGR recall completed with engine light - a few weeks later crank shaft position sensor error code engine light. Crank shaft position sensor was originally inspected - can cause engine to stop or go into limp mode while driving. Truck went into limp mode after pulling out of driveway onto busy street
Intake manifold melted and smoked. No flame seen but lots of smoke. Check engine light came on and service Electronic Throttle light came on. I have had 2 EGR coolers installed in this vehicle. This was close to being a engine fire. If this is not fixed soon some ones Ecodiesel will burn a family up. NTSB needs to recall these vehicles ASAP
This problem is common for the 5.7l V8 Hemi RAM engine, as reported by owners. It concerns bolts that hold the exhaust shield to the engine manifold. These bolts are known to break off, causing a tapping sound that is heard while the engine is cool, soon quieting down as the engine heats up. The bolt also holds the catalytic converter in place. If not repaired, it can cause the exhaust system shield to break loose entirely, and also possibly causing the catalytic converter to break loose. The failure is well known to owners, and is clearly documented in the following Youtube video: https://youtu.be/cL3xNoKs9E4 titled "The most common Hemi Tick"
part not aveliable magnetic material attached to tone wheel
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the airbag message had appeared on the instrument panel while starting the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the passenger’s side curtain airbags were replaced; however, soon after repair, the airbag warning light reappeared. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 55 - 60 mph, the steering wheel stiffened up and was hard to steer. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall for the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was 86,000.
I bought my 2015 ram eco-diesel August 2019 I try to get the recall done once and they said they will not install it I waited about a year and called again and they made a appointment for me But the recall with the crankshaft sensor went bad and I had to have it towed they installed the EGR cooler and did a programming to the camshaft sensor now I’ve got the vehicle back it’s hard to start it has no power I don’t understand this I just want the truck to be right I haven’t drove The truck in over a year I just want them to make the truck right thank you
I was driving on the Interstate when a electronic short warning light come on, I pulled over on the shoulder of the road and my engine quit and smoke started to come from the engine. I opened the hood and the engine was on fire. I emptied my cooler, all the bottles of water I had and Cokes and managed to put the fire out with out damage to any thing or any one other than the engine, windshield and hood. Dealer does not want to take responsibility, oil cooler seems to be the source of the fire. Oil sprayed on to the fire blanket on the hood kept burning after the main fire was extinguished. My truck was running fine prier to the fire, I have been waiting for a replacement tone wheel (recall # W58) for 6 months. I have had the EGR (recall #VB1) go out twice and fixed. Numerous electrical tail light shortages.
Since purchasing the truck early this year, the engine has stalled while in motion 5 times. Each time I was able to shift into neutral and start the engine again, and stay in motion. I have taken the truck to 3 different mechanics and none are able to figure out the source of the stall. My safety is at risk because engine control is lost while in motion, if I had to accelerate to avoid collision I would be unable to. Although the engine has started again every time, I am afraid that one time it might not. No warning lamps have come on and no engine codes are available, the truck makes no record of the sudden loss of motive power.
The fog light brackets are worn out, resulting in the light bouncing and blinding oncoming traffic.
I have observed that the headlights and fog lights flicker about every 1 minute while driving. Nothing running in the cab that would affect the voltage or amps to draw to cause this. I have read several online threads of dozens if not hundreds of others having the same issue with no solution or any dealership to help.
My 2015 Ram 1500 abruptly downshifted into 4th gear while driving down the road at approximately 50 mph. I immediately pulled off the road and found that the truck was stuck in 4th gear. After some research I've found this is very common with the RAM's and that they had a recall on the newer models for the same issue. If I would have been going around a bend when this occurred, it would have caused an accident. I'm not going to have to spend around $1000 to repair something that is an obvious defect. It's going to cause an accident, or more accidents if nothing is done about it.
The tone ring of my vehicle has failed causing the crank sensor to not work as designed. This has put my vehicle into a no start condition. I was lucky that this happened just after I returned home instead of while in the 5 lane traffic I was previously in. Had this happened a few minutes earlier I would have been in an accident.
THE RECALL FOR THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR TONE WHEEL MAY DELAMINATE FALLS SHORT OF CORRECTING THE PROBLEM. MINE DELAMINATED AND IT COST ME $2600 FOR THE REPAIR AT THE DEALER IN GILROY CA. BESIDE LEAVING US STRANDED ON A REMOTE SECTION OF HIGHWAY WITH THE TRAVEL TRAILER WE WERE TOWING. WE PAID $250 FOR TOWING THE TRUCK AND THE TRAILER AND $1000 TO RENT A CAR WHILE THE DEALER WAITED TO DIAGNOSE THE ORDER PARTS AND FINALLY TO REPAIR. AFTER PICKING UP THE TRUCK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT AN HOUR DOWN THE ROAD TOWARD HOME. AFTER I GOT HOME I TALKED TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE TRUCK JUST TURNED OVER 120000 MILES JUST BEFORE GETTING TO THE DEALER SO EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE HAPPENED BEFORE THE MILES HIT 120000 THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WOULD NOT BE COVER BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS PART OF THE EMISSION SETTLEMENT. FIRST I BELIEVE THE RECALL FOR THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR TONE WHEEL MAY DELAMINATE SHOULD COVER THE COST TO REPLACE THE WHEEL, NOT JUST MODIFY THE PROGRAM. SECOND THERE IS STILL AN ISSUE THAT WAS NOT FOUND BY THE DEALER BEFORE 120000 MILES AND I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD QUALIFY AS A WARRANT REPAIR. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION OF THESE ISSUES.
TRAVELED APPR. 1/2 MILE, 30 MPH ENGINE LOST POWER, RATTLED AND CLANKED LIKE TIMING WAS OFF WOULD HARDLY MOVE- STALLED ME ON BUSY 2 LANE HWY. TRANSMISSION KNOB LOCKED UP, ERRORS READING ADJUST TRAILER BRAKE SLIDER- NO TRAILER CONNECTED TO ME. TRIED ADJUSTING, ALLOWED ME TO PUT IN PARK, COULD NOT GET BACK OUT OF PARK, WOULD NOT LET ME SHUT OF ENGINE. IT WAS TOTALLY STALLED, BUT RUNNING LIKE A CLANKY TRAIN- FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET TRUCK IN REVERSE AND BACK INTO DRIVE 500 FEET BEHIND ME. HAD NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. ENGINE WAS LOPING SO BAD IT FELT LIKE I HAD A FLAT TIRE. GOT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE - STILL LIMITED POWER, NO POWER STEERING. GOT TRUCK UP TO HOUSE SAFELY OFF ROAD- YELLOW ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS ABLE TO GET TRUCK IN PARK ON SELECTOR KNOB. SHUT TRUCK OFF. CALLED TO MAKE AN APPT. TO GET TRUCK IN. TRIED TO START TRUCK AND WOULD TURN OVER BUT WILL NOT START. I GOT NOTICE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO OF LOSS OF CRANK POSITION. I CALLED LARSON DODGE TO GET IT FIXED AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE INFO ON HOW TO FIX IT YET, TO CALL BACK AFTER FIRST OF YEAR. SO HERE I AM. IT IS VERY SCARY TO PULL ONTO MAIN 2 LANE HWY AND TOTALLY LOSE POWER AND CONTROL ALL AT THE SAME TIME. NO SHOULDER ON ROAD, CAN NOT EXPLAIN THE FEELING BUT IT IS AN AWFUL FEELING TO BE IN MOTION AND LOSE ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS DEFINITELY IS DANGEROUS AND EASILY PEOPLE COULD DIE FROM IT IF IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY OR ANY BUSY ROAD. PLEASE PEOPLE BE AWARE OF THIS. THIS FAULTY SITUATION COULD EASILY COST YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES AND OR COMPLETE STRANGERS THEIR LIVES. NOT SO MUCH BY THE VEHICLE ITSELF, BUT BY LOSING POWER AND CONTROL, YOU CAN EASILY GET SLAMMED INTO. I WAS JUST WAITING TO GET HIT, BUT A VERY AWARE SEMI TRUCK DRIVER SAW I WAS IN TROUBLE AND STOPPED BEFORE THE OPENING OF THE DRIVE TO ALLOW ME TO BACK UP INTO IT. I COULD NOT GO FORWARD. THE CONTROL KNOB WOULD NOT LET ME PUT IT IN DRIVE.
DODGE RAM 1500 ECO DIESEL 2015 LOSS OF CRANKSHAFT POSITION AND RING TONE WHEEL ! HAD A RECALL W58 TO FIX CRANKSHAFT POSITION WHICH NOW DAMAGED THE RING SENSOR WHEEL! RECALL WAS DONE MARCH 9, 2021, APRIL 5TH TRUCK STALLED IN DRIVEWAY AND WOULD NOT START ! HAD TO TOW TO DEALERSHIP! DODGE STILL HAS NOT RECEIVED THE FIX AND WANTS US TO PAY THE $2000 BILL ! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE SINCE THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED ONE THING THAT AFFECTED THE RING MAGNETIC MATERIAL ! RECALL W58 SPECIFICALLY STATED THAT 'THE TONE MATERIAL ATTACHED TO THE TONE WHEEL ON YOUR VEHICLE PROVIDES A SIGNAL TO THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR'. THERE IS ANOTHER RECALL THAT WE DID NOT GET W68 THAT SUPPOSEDLY ADDRESSES THE RING! WHY ARE WE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL ????? WE COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHEN THE TRUCK STALLED ! !!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED THE NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V475000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 80 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE FUEL THROTTLE AND ELECTRONIC POWER BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEY AUTO MALL (3700 16TH ST, MOLINE, IL 61265) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR TONE WHEEL FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED HOWEVER, THE CRACK POSITION SENSOR WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ADAMSON MOTORS (4800 US-52, ROCHESTER, MN 55901) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE NEEDED TO PAY FOR THE PART, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE RECALL FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,600.
I HAVE HAD TWO PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE. THE FIRST IS THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL INTERMEDIATELY WORKS AND THEN DOESN'T AT TIMES. THE SECOND, IS THAT THE POWER STEERING INTERMEDIATELY WORKS AND THEN SUDDENLY WILL GO OUT IN MIDDLE OF A TURN. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE HOOKED HIS SCANNER TO IT AND ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON, HE RESET THE COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE. THIS ACTION WORKED FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR AND THE THEN THE ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING RETURNED. I'VE LOOKED UP RECALLS ON BOTH THESE ISSUES AND HAVE NOTICED THERE ARE RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THESE PROBLEMS WITH RAM 1500, HOWEVER MINE IS NOT LISTED. I BELIEVE THEY NEED TO BROADEN THEIR RECALL ACTIONS BEFORE SOMEONE LOOSES THEIR LIFE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURE.
MY 2015 RAM 1500 SHIFT SELENOID PACK FAILED AND IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM OR DEFECT IN THE RAM 1500 OF THAT YEAR. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ON NEWER RAM MODELS FOR THIS PART BUT NOT ON THIS YEAR MODEL. THE 2015 RAMS HAVE THE SAME SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SHIFT SELENOID PACK BUT I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE HAS DONE ANY INVESTIGATION ON THIS FACTORY DEFECT. IT IS VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR AND VERY COMMON. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION AT A LOW SPEED. WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. WHEN THE SELENOID PACK FAILED.IT GOT STUCK ON 4TH GEAR AND IT WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE.
2015 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL CREW CAB. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT INTO PARK. THE SHIFT KNOB LIGHTS UP ALL LIGHTS AND THEN WILL SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK. ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED AND VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE HAVE TO TURN THE SHIFT KNOB INTO PARK SOMETIMES THE SHIFT KNOB WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TURN IT TO PARK. ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION WHEN IT OCCURS IS TO TURN THE VEHICLE IGNITION OFF THEN RESTART. THIS HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS. ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT NUMEROUS TIMES. ALSO WHEN THIS OCCURS THE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL COME ON AND STAY ON. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CONTINUES TO STOP WORKING CAUSING MY ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. I AM NOT AWARE IF I WILL RUN OUT OF GAS OR NOT. THIS REPAIR PROCESS IS WELL OVER $700 UNLESS I DO MYSELF WHICH I DONT HAVE TTE EQUIPMENT TO TAKE MY BED OFF MY TRUCK. THAT IS EVEN MORE DANGEROUS WHEN THIS IS A FAULTY PART ON DODGES PART. FOR THE COST OF HTESE TRUCKS THESE NEED TO BE PART OF A RECALL.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power and there was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) was replaced; however, several months later, the failure recurred. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was then towed to Marion Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (44 Worley Rd, Marion, NC 28752) where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) needed to be replaced a second time. The dealer confirmed that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,999. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
