THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V562000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AND 17V821000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM SOUTHWEST (7980 W TUFTS AVE, LITTLETON, CO) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO RESERVE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO SENT SOMEONE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO DEFECT FOUND AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 32234169. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN. *LN
P0299 UNDER BOOST CODES. AFTER BEING THROWN INTO LIMP MODE AND ALMOST GETTING ME AND MY FAMILY KILLED I GOT MY DODGE ECODIESEL TO THE DEALERSHIP. SAID ITS A SOFTWARE ISSUE AND THERE IS NO FIX. WAS TOLD TO THAT ITS FINE AFTER THEY JUST CLEARED THE ENGINE LIGHT. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! JUST SEND THEM BACK OUT IN THE DEATH TRAP.
AIR BAG IN STEERING WHEEL DID NOT DEPLOY. HEAD ON COLLISON. UPDATED 09/21/17 *BF *TR
MY RAM TRUCK WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I WENT OUT AND STARTED MY TRUCK, WENT BACK INSIDE THE HOUSE TO GATHER MY THINGS APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES. WHEN I CAME BACK OUT TO MY DRIVEWAY MY TRUCK HAD STARTED TO ROLL DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND ENDED UP CRASHING INTO MY NEIGHBORS FENCE. THE TRUCK WAS IN PARK WHEN STARTED AND SOMEHOW CAME OUT OF GEAR OR HAD A COMPUTER FAILURE ON THE ROTARY SHIFT KNOB. THE DIAL INDICATOR WAS STILL IN PARK WHEN I ENTERED THE VEHICLE AFTER THE ROLL AWAY.
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH MY 2015 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL GAS PEDAL GETTING STUCK. FIRST TIME WAS ON 7/07/17. I WANTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON A STOP SIGN. AS I TOUCHED THE PEDAL WITH MY FOOT, IT SUNK TO THE BOTTOM AND THE TRUCK STARTED ACCELERATING LIKE CRAZY, THE TIRES SQUEAKED AND THE TRUCK TILTED TO THE LEFT. THE RMP WENT UP TO 3 AND THE LIGHTNING BOLT MESSAGE LIT UP. I THOUGHT WE WOULD FLIP OR CRASH INTO SOMETHING BUT LUCKILY I MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL AND ENDED UP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AS THE PEDAL STAYED IN THE SINKING POSITION. HAD MY FOUR CHILDREN WITH ME IN THE TRUCK, THEY ALL STARTED CRYING HYSTERICALLY AND KEPT ASKING, "MOM WHAT IS GOING ON WITH OUR TRUCK?" ABOUT 3 MIN. LATER IT WAS RELEASED. BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GOT THE ACCELERATOR SENSOR REPLACED. THE SAME PROBLEM REPEATED ON 7/16/17. THIS TIME ON A HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 60MPH. BROUGHT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP, WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WAS ASKED TO TAKE A PICTURE OR VIDEO IF THE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. ARE THEY SERIOUS? HOW CAN YOU DO THAT WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO GET YOUR VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL AND ARE SCARED FOR YOUR LIFE? SAME ISSUE ON 8/15/17 AS WE CAME OUT OF A DRIVEWAY UNTO A WINDY ROAD AT ABOUT 15MPH. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED LIKE CRAZY ALMOST CAUSING US TO HIT THE GUARDRAIL ON THE SIDE. GOOD THING THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND WE MANAGED TO STOP THE TRUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE TRUCK IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY WANT ME TO COME AND PICK IT UP BUT I AM SCARED FOR MY LIFE TO DRIVE IN IT. THEY SUGGESTED THAT I COME AND DRIVE IT WITH A TECH. HOPING IT WOULD DUPLICATE. THERE IS NOTHING SPECIFIC THAT CAUSES IT TO HAPPEN. IT JUST HAPPENS OUT OF NOWHERE, NO SPECIFIC SPEED, PLACE OR TIME. I JUST WANT A SAFE CAR FOR MY FAMILY. I HAVE 4 CHILDREN THAT DRIVE WITH ME EVERY DAY, CAN'T RISK THEIR LIVES.
VEHICLE IS A 2015 RAM 1500 TRUCK WITH 8-SPEED TRANSMISSIONS AND "DIAL-A-GEAR" ELECTRONIC GEAR SELECTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A GAS STATION AND PULLED UP NEXT TO A GAS PUMP. DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE, AND REALIZED THAT THEY NEEDED TO PULL FORWARD ABOUT 2 MORE FEET TO BETTER ALIGN THE TRUCK WITH THE GAS PUMP. THE DRIVER GOT BACK INTO THE TRUCK, TURNED THE KNOB TO "DRIVE," AND PULLED FORWARD. ONCE THE TRUCK WAS STOPPED, THE DRIVER TURNED THE KNOB TO "PARK" AND EXITED THE TRUCK. AS THE DRIVER STEPPED OUT OF THE TRUCK IT BEGAN TO MOVE BACKWARDS, CAUSING THE DRIVER'S DOOR TO IMPACT THE POLE PROTECTING THE PUMPS, AND OVER-EXTENDING THE DOOR AND HINGES BEYOND NORMAL OPERATION. THE DRIVER QUICKLY JUMPED BACK INTO THE TRUCK AND STOPPED IT'S MOVEMENT, AND THEN VERIFIED THAT THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS SHOWING "PARK." THE DRIVER WAS UNINJURED, BUT THE INCIDENT RESULTED IN $2,200.00 OF DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK WAS MOVED FORWARD AGAIN, THE DOOR PULLED BACK TO A NORMAL POSITION, THE GEAR SELECTION KNOB AGAIN TURNED TO THE "PARK" POSITION, AND THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION WAS CONFIRMED TO BE IN "PARK." THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT QUIKTRIP GAS STATION #764 ON AUGUST 10, 2017. IT WAS CAPTURED ON THE LOCATION'S SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SYSTEM ON CAMERAS "GAS LEFT" AND "PARKING LEFT" STARTING AT THE TIME OF 15:50:33, WITH THE ACTUAL INCIDENT BETWEEN 15:51:26 AND 15:51:29. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FAILED TO TURN IN THE IGNITION TO START THE VEHICLE. THE KEY WAS ALSO DIFFICULT TO REMOVE FROM THE IGNITION. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT AND MAINLY OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED AND ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. TWO DEALERS (SHERWOOD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 1915 N SALISBURY BLVD, SALISBURY, MD 21801, (410) 749-1301 AND SPIRIT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP, 1945 KINGS HWY, SWEDESBORO, NJ 08085, (856) 467-2200) WERE CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT DIAGNOSIS THE VEHICLE. NEITHER DEALER MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V821000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. WHILE EXITING A PARKING SPOT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE PERSISTED FOR TWENTY MINUTES. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BAXTER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LINCOLN 6601 TELLURIDE DR, LINCOLN, NE 68521 (402) 817-7449, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION AND CORE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER INVOICE 521651. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19E077000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,014.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, IT ROLLED AWAY AND CRASHED INTO A 2015 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MYRTLE BEACH CHRYSLER JEEP (785 JASON BOULEVARD, MYRTLE BEACH, SC 29577) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER WAS MAKING AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE, AND THE SHIFTER MODULE AND SHIFTER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 32069249. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND THERE WAS NO MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,129. *BF *TR
THE VEHICLE'S TAILGATE WILL RANDOMLY OPEN WHILE MOVING ALLOWING EVERYTHING IN THE BED TO COME OUT, THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE'S TAILGATE, CONTENTS, AND LAST TIME NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT TO TRAILING VEHICLES. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF PURCHASING THE TRUCK NEW IN 2015. I ASSUMED THAT I HAD SIMPLY NOT LATCHED THE TAILGATE WELL. SINCE THEN IT HAS OCCURRED MORE FREQUENTLY, LAST TIME ON OCTOBER 20TH, 2017, WHEN IT HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE DAY. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT IT IS RELATED TO A FAULTY METAL TAB THAT IS BEING BROKEN OFF BY A MOVING PLASTIC PIECE CONNECTING THE LATCH TO THE ELECTRIC LOCK. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, A SERVICE BULLETIN WAS RELEASED ABOUT A WEEK AGO, ALTHOUGH THEY CLAIM THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THE ISSUE FOR YEARS. NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. I FIRST SPOKE TO RAM AFTER MY TAILGATE OPENED WHILE I HAD A TRAILER ATTACHED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TAILGATE. I CALLED THEM ON JULY 20TH, 2017, THEY DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. I CALLED THEM AGAIN OCTOBER 20TH, 2017 AFTER MY TAILGATE OPENED AND A BOX CONTAINING A CEILING FAN CAME OUT. THE BOX NARROWLY MISSED THE TWO VEHICLES TRAVELLING BEHIND ME. SO FAR, THEY HAVE TOLD ME TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND MY CASE MANAGER HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF MY CALLS. IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR 7 DAYS. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT REVERSED ABOUT 75FT AND IMPACTED A CONCRETE ABUTMENT AND METAL PIPE SUPPORTING GATE. THE GEAR SHIFT THEN WENT INTO REVERSE AND THE BACK UP LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS DAMAGE CAUSED TO THE REAR BUMPER AND TAILGATE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LIFTGATE INDEPENDENTLY OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER (JAMES HODGE MOTOR, 5100 SOUTHEAST LOOP 286, PARIS, TEXAS) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 18,000.

I OWN A 2015 DODGE ECODIESEL AND IT HAS NOW ACTUALLY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING TWICE, BOTH TIMES PLACING US IN GREAT DANGER. THE FIRST TIME MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD TO CALL IN THEIR "HEAD ENGINEERS" TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, THEY FINALLY IDENTIFIED THAT THE TRUCK NEEDED MANY (I THINK THEY QUOTED AROUND 20) SOFTWARE UPDATES. HOWEVER, WE NEVER GOT NOTICE THAT THE TRUCK NEEDED THESE UPDATES AND/OR THAT IF IT DIDN'T GET THESE UPDATES THAT IT COULD JUST STOP WORKING AT ANY TIME. THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED, I WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK LATER AT NIGHT (AWAY FROM HOME) WITH 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO FIND SOMEWHERE TO PULL OVER ON A COUNTY ROAD WITH NO SHOULDER. WE RECENTLY HAD A FAMILY KILLED IN COLLIN COUNTY DUE TO A VEHICLE SLOWING AND A DRIVER BEHIND COLLIDING INTO THE VEHICLE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, SO YOU CAN SEE HOW THIS HAS ME EVEN MORE TERRIFIED THAT WE HAVE A VEHICLE THAT DOES THIS WITHOUT OUR CONTROL. I AM APPALLED THAT DODGE IS ABLE TO PUT A VEHICLE ON THE ROAD THAT CAN JUST SHUT DOWN FOR NO GOOD REASON PUTTING PEOPLE IN GRAVE DANGER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON IN THE TRUCK DESPITE IT SEEMINGLY WORKING OKAY, FOR NOW. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY ARE NOW SAYING THAT BECAUSE WE ARE SLIGHTLY OVER MILES THAT THE WARRANTY MAY NOT COVER THE FIX TO WHATEVER IS ALL OF THE SUDDEN WRONG WITH A 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. AGAIN, HOW IS DODGE ALLOWED TO USE THIS SOFTWARE THAT REQUIRES UPDATES (EVEN THOUGH THEY DO NOT NOTIFY DRIVERS) THAT IS ACTUALLY SHUTTING DOWN VEHICLES? WHAT IS THE SOFTWARE ACTUALLY DOING?I FEEL THAT DODGE SHOULD PROVIDE A GUARANTEE THAT THIS TRUCK WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW THAT IS EVEN POSSIBLE. I WOULD LIKE ANSWERS FROM DODGE ASAP.
I WAS HIT HEAD ON BY A DRUNK DRIVER. I WAS DOING SIXTY MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE IMPACT OCCURRED. MY TRUCK FLIPPED THREE TIMES BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
THIS TRUCK JERKS INTO FIRST AND SECOND GEAR WHEN SLOWING DOWN. THIS TRANSMISSION DEFECT LUNGES THE TRUCK FORWARD IN A VERY ABRUPT AND SURPRISING MANNER. THE TRUCK IS DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, SPECIFICALLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.
REAR CAB 3RD BRAKE LIGHT LEAKS EXTREME AMOUNT OF WATER WHEN RAINING HARD. THERE ARE HUNDARDS OF VIDEO THAT HIGHLIGHT THIS ISSUE. WATER ENTERING THE CAB COULD POTENTIALLY START A FIRE OR SOME KIND OF ELECTRIC SHORT. CHRYSLER/RAM DOESN'T OFFER A SOLUTION TO FIX AT THEIR COST.
HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING 2 TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. THE FIRST TIME THE RADIO AND DASH CLUSTER STOPPED WORKING THEN THE TRUCK ENGINE SHUT OFF DOING 80 DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE SECOND TIME IT WAS JUST THE ENGINE THAT SHUT OFF DOING 60 MPH ON A 2 LANE ROAD
VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND LEFT IN PARK. WENT IN REVERSE AND CRASHED INTO A COLUMN.
ON 6/12/17 I BACKED OUT OF MY GARAGE AND SHIFTED THE TRUCK INTO PARK.(ELECTRONIC ROTARY DIAL SHIFTER MOUNTED ON DASH) I EXITED THE TRUCK TO RETRIEVE AN ITEM IN THE GARAGE, LEAVING THE TRUCK RUNNING. MY 10 YEAR OLD SON, WHO WAS INSIDE THE TRUCK, SCREAMED TO ALERT ME. I OBSERVED MY TRUCK IN MOTION MOVING FORWARD TOWARD MY GARAGE.(NOT COASTING AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL BUT RATHER IN DRIVE). I ATTEMPTED TO GET BACK INTO TRUCK TO APPLY BRAKE BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE TRUCK IMPACTED THE EXTERIOR OF MY GARAGE BETWEEN THE DOORS WITH MY SON INSIDE THE TRUCK. HE WAS SEAT BELTED AND UNINJURED, PHYSICALLY. UPON ENTERING THE TRUCK I OBSERVED THE GEAR SELECTOR TO BE IN PARK. I IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED INTO REVERSE BACKING UP APPROXIMATELY 15-20 FEET. I SHIFTED THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND AGAIN EXITED THE TRUCK TO SURVEY THE DAMAGE. THE TRUCK AGAIN BEGAN MOVING FORWARD AS IF IN DRIVE. I WAS ABLE TO APPLY THE BRAKE REACHING IN WITH MY HANDS TO DO SO. I AGAIN OBSERVED THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN PARK. I SHUT THE IGNITION OFF AT THIS POINT. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THIS EVENT I ATTEMPTED TO REPLICATE IT IN MY DRIVEWAY APPROXIMATELY 20-30 TIMES, SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND LETTING MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. I WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE IT IN THESE ATTEMPTS. MY TRUCK SUSTAINED JUST OVER $3,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE. I HAVE NOT AT THIS TIME GOTTEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE DAMAGE TO MY HOME. THE MAJOR CONCERN I HAVE PERTAINS TO THE FACT MY SON WAS INSIDE THE TRUCK AND MY DAUGHTERS PLAYING NEARBY WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED. LATER THAT EVENING WHILE RESEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TRANSMISSION I LOCATED NHSTA INVESTIGATION PE 16-014 AND FEEL I HAVE EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR ISSUE AS THOSE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TO THE NHTSA. OUR SECOND FAMILY VEHICLE IS MY WIFE'S 2014 DODGE DURANGO WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION AND SUBJECT TO THE SAME NHTSA INVESTIGATION PE 16-014.

AFTER ABOUT TWO YEARS THE RAM BOX COVERS DEGRADED WHICH LEAVE PIECES OF FIBERGLASS IN MY ARMS WHENEVER I REACH ACROSS THEM TO TIE SOMETHING DOWN OR GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE BED OF MY TRUCK. THIS CAUSES A RASH THAT LASTS FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY TRUCK. THIS IS NOT DUE TO OWNER ERROR.
ECO DIESEL ENGINE HAS BEEN SERVICED THREE TIMES FOR "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL" FAILURE. ONCE IDIOT LIGHT COMES ON TRUCK LOSES ALL POWER. CURRENTLY IN DEALERSHIP TO BE SERVICED AND I'M BEING TOLD THAT CHRYSLER IS UNAWARE OF A CURRENT FIX. THE FIRST TIME IN WAS TOLD THAT A HOSE HAD TO BE REPLACED. SECOND TIME THAT IT WAS A PROGRAMMING UPDATE, NOW THEY DON'T KNOW.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK THERE WAS A THUMP SOUND WHICH CAUSE THE TRUCK TO STALL CAUSING TRUCK TO SLOW DOWN INSTANTLAY. HOWEVER IT DOES THIS FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN IT WILL ACCELERATE AND CONTINUE ON DRLIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES EVEN AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT IT HAS NO CERTAIN SPEED THAT IT WILL DO IT. IT JUST HAPPENS RANDOMLY WITH NO SPECIFIC SPEED WHEN IT HAPPENS. IT HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AND ON A REGULAR HIGHWAY ROAD THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE IN SPEED EACH TIME.

APRIL 14, 2017 MY HUSBAND WAS HEADING EAST ON I-20 IN THE TYLER, TEXAS AREA LOCATED IN SMITH COUNTY TEXAS.APPROACHING HIS TURN OFF AT HWY 14. WHEN EXITING ON THE RAMP HE NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. HE LOOKED AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND HE BEGAN LOSING POWER. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST 2 SERVICE ATTEMPTS AND THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WITHIN 200 DRIVING MILES, MOSTLY HIGHWAY. THE FIRST 2 TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, MOVING UNDER 30MPH AND GENERALLY DECELERATING UNDER BRAKING. THE 3RD TIME THIS OCCURRED I WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY WITH MODERATE THROTTLE INPUT AND THE THROTTLE COMPLETELY LOST FUNCTION. THIS RESULTED IN THE NEED FOR AN EMERGENCY EXIT FROM THE FREEWAY WHILE COASTING WITH NO CONTROL OF THE THROTTLE, A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO SAY THE LEAST. MY LARAMIE SUFFERED MAJOR DAMAGE TO REAR BUMPER, TAILGATE, AND REAR DRIVER SIDE PANEL. WE ARE JUST LUCKY THERE WERE NO OTHERS WALKING IN THE AREA AT THE TIME. MY 2015 LARAMIE HAS A ROTARY SHIFTER AND IT WAS IN PARKED POSITION AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I FEEL THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE ROTARY SHIFTER WHICH CASED THIS ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN.

THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO TURN THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALL THE WAY UP, TO WHERE THEY SHOULD BE WHILE DRIVING DURING DAYTIME CONDITIONS. THIS CAUSES A HUGE DISTRACTION SINCE THE INTERIOR IS FULLY ILLUMINATED ON DARK ROADS. DUE TO THE HORRIBLE RAM DESIGN OF THE HEADLIGHTS WHICH DON'T PROJECT ANYTHING, THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM TRYING TO NAVIGATE ROADWAYS WITH EITHER THE BLINKING DASHBOARD OR THE LIGHTS ALL THE WAY UP. *TR
I PUT THE 2015 RAM 1500 INTO PARK AND REMOVED THE KEY, WHEN I STEPPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE IT STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS DOWN MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK INTO THE VEHICLE AND APPLY THE BRAKE. I PUT THE KEY BACK INTO THE IGNITION AND THE PARK INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON. I PULLED THE VEHICLE FORWARD AND PUT IT INTO PARK AGAIN, WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AGAIN. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND PULLED THE VEHICLE FORWARD AGAIN, I PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK, THIS TIME THE VEHICLE STAYED IN PARK AND DID NOT ROLL BACKWARDS.
