STOPPED AT MAIL BOX ON 3% INCLINE. PUT TRUCK IN PARK AND SET THE PARK BRAKE. JUMPED OUT WITH THE DOOR OPEN TO GET THE MAIL. TRUCK SLOWLY STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD. I JUMPED BACK IN THE TRUCK TO STOP THE ROLL BUT IT ALREADY STOPPED AFTER ABOUT 3 FEET. I LOOKED AND IT WAS STILL IN PARK. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED.
MY TRUCK TONIGHT WAS IN PARK ROLLED DOWN MY DRIVEWAY. SO WHILE IT WAS IN PARK HAD MY WIFE SIT IN TRUCK I PUSHED ON MY TRUCK WHILE MY SON WATCHED THE WHEELS. AND OF COURSE THE WHEELS MOVED AND MY TRUCK ROLLED BACK WHILE IN PARK.
TRUCK WAS IN PARK AND VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND TRUCK STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS ON A VERY SLIGHT INCLINE
I WENT TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND I TURNED THE DIAL TO "P" AND THE LIGHT FLASHED ABOVE AND THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF VEHICLE. I THEN EXITED VEHICLE AND VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL AWAY. I JUMPED BACK IN VEHICLE AND PUSHED THE EMERGENCY BREAK. I LEFT THE VEHICLE FOR 15 MIN AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN VEHICLE IT WENT INTO PARK WITH NO PROBLEM. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE NOW.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEM... SUNDAY, 12/18/2016 IN MINNEAPOLIS, MN REMOTELY STARTED VEHICLE AT 6:00AM -22 ACTUAL AIR TEMP. VEHICLE HAD BEEN WARMING UP (IDLING) FOR 15 MINUTES. AT 6:15AM I TRIED PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE. INDICATOR LIGHT FOR REVERSE SHOULD HAVE GONE SOLID...JUST BLINKED. TRIED PLACING VEHICLE IN DRIVE WITH SAME RESULTS. DRIVE INDICATOR JUST BLINKED, SHOULD HAVE GONE SOLID. CHECK ENGINE CAME ON. TRIED STOPPING AND STARTING VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. ALLOWED VEHICLE TO CONTINUE TO IDLE FOR A TOTAL OF ONE HOUR BEFORE THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION ACTUALLY SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO JOE MACHENS RAM DEALERSHIP IN COLUMBIA, MO ON 12/19/2016, SERVICE WRITER CHRIS BOATRIGHT (573-474-9500) WROTE THE ISSUE UP. RECEIVED A CALL FROM CHRIS BOATRIGHT ON 12/20/2016. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS EVEN THOUGH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID POINT TO A TRANSMISSION ERROR. REPORTING THIS ISSUE AS I SAW ON THE NEWS TODAY ABOUT THE OTHER ISSUES OF THIS VEHICLE ROLLING AWAY WHEN PEOPLE THINK THE TRANSMISSION IS IN PARK.

I AM FROM PITTSBURGH, PA . LAST TUESDAY MORNING, I SHOVELED MY DRIVEWAY AND THEN GOT INTO MY TRUCK AND WENT TO A NEARBY SHEETZ AND GOT SOME GAS. I RETURNED TO MY HOME AND BACKED MY TRUCK DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND PARKED AND PUT MY TRUCK INTO PARK AND APPLIED THE E-BRAKE AND SHUT OFF THE TRUCK. I THEN WENT INSIDE MY HOME AND WALKED INTO MY KITCHEN. ABOUT 3-4MIN LATER I WAS RANDOMLY LOOKING OUT OF MY BACK WINDOW AND I SEE MY TRUCK IN MY NEIGHBORS BACK YARD AGAINST THEIR FENCE. IT APPEARS MY TRUCK ROLLED AWAY DOWN MY DRIVEWAY. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT OF BEEN BECAUSE OF WEATHER CONDITIONS BUT I HEARD ON THE NEWS ABOUT A POTENTIAL FEDERAL INVESTIGATION OF THESE TYPES OF ACCIDENTS FORM RAM TRUCKS FROM 2014-2016. I WAS LITERALLY SHOCKED BY WHAT HAPPENED TO MY TRUCK AS I AM ALMOST CERTAIN I BOTH HAD THE SHIFTIER IN PARK AND APPLIED THE E-BRAKE. I CURRENTLY HAD TO SUBMIT A CLAIM TO ERIE INSURANCE AND AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING MY TRUCK FIXED AFTER $3500 DOLLARS IN DAMAGES. IF YOU NEED ANYMORE DETAILS MY NUMBER IS [XXX]. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE, IT ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN A HILL 75 FEET AND CRASHED INTO TREES. THE TRANSMISSION MADE CONTACT WITH A THREE FOOT DIAMETER ROCK, WHICH CRACKED THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING AND BENT THE DRIVESHAFT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE MAY BE PART OF NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE16014 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE CONTINUOUSLY BREAKING OFF CREATING HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS. EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASES ARE LEAKING DIRECTLY INTO ENGINE BAY AROUND THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. UNFILTERED EXHAUST GASES ARE BYPASSING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AND PASSING STRAIGHT TO THE ATMOSPHERE. CHRYSLER IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION AND CHARGING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX IT EVERY TIME IT BREAKS. THE ISSUE ALSO THROWS THE VEHICLE COMPUTER INTO AN OPEN LOOP DUE TO FAULTY O2 READINGS NEGATIVELY IMPACTING FUEL AND PERFORMANCE CAUSING FURTHER POLLUTION AND EMISSIONS NEGATIVELY IMPACTING ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH OF OCCUPANTS. AFTER CHARGING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO 'FIX' THE ISSUE THEY MERELY REPLACE BROKEN PARTS WITH THE EXACT TYPE AND MATERIAL THAT FAILED PREVIOUSLY. THE MANIFOLD/EXHAUST ISSUE IS INDEPENDENT OF ANY VEHICLE MOTION OR DRIVING CONDITION. RUNNING THE ENGINE IN ANY CONDITION WILL CAUSE THE FAILURE DUE TO DISSIMILAR METALS USED AND DIFFERENCE IN METALS MOVEMENT AS IT HEATS AND COOLS. PRESENTLY THIS IS THE 10TH BOLT BROKE OFF. IT HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY SINCE OWNING VEHICLE. *TR
VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEED. COMPLAINED TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND WAS IGNORED. I AM A MECHANIC WITH 35+ YEARS EXPERIENCE. I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT THE PROBLEM IS IN THE DRIVELINE AND NOT IN THE WHEELS/TIRES. THE VIBRATION CAUSES THE TRUCK TO EAT THE TIRES. I AM UNDER 65,000 MILES AND ON THE FIFTH SET OF TIRES. FOUR DIFFERENT BRANDS OF TIRES. I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. I DISCUSSED A TSB WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS IGNORED AGAIN. AFTER HAVING MY TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP UNDER WARRANTY, THE VIBRATION HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I AM REASONABLY CERTAIN THE VIBRATION CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT I RECENTLY HAD TO HAVE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY.
THE BRAKE PEDAL ON THIS GENERATION OF RAM 1500 PICKUPS SITS CONSIDERABLY HIGHER THAN THE GAS PEDAL. THIS MEANS WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, IF YOU QUICKLY HAVE TO MOVE TO THE BRAKE, YOUR FOOT CAN BECOME STUCK UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL SHOULD BE LOWERED AS ITS HEIGHT IS TOO HIGH. RAISING THE GAS PEDAL WOULD MAKE IT TOO HIGH AS WELL CREATING A DIFFERENT PROBLEM. THERE ARE MANY DISCUSSIONS ONLINE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STOPPED WITHOUT ANY WARNING, I LOST MY POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO HAVE POWER TO THE ENGINE. I TRIED TO START THE DIESEL ENGINE, BUT THE STARTER JUST TRIED STARTING IT FOR APPROX. 20 SECONDS, I DID NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO TURN STARTER OFF SINCE IT IS A PUSH BUTTON START AND IT FINALLY TIMED OUT. I WAITED APPROX 5 MIN. AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT RESTARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I DROVE IT TO THE DEALER. THE MILEAGE WAS APPROX. 36,100 MILES. I HAD TO KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED HOPING IT WOULD NOT DIE ON ME AS I DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES TO THE DEALER. MY GREATEST CONCERN IS THE SAFETY ISSUE OF COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND WHAT MAY HAPPEN IF YOU WERE ON A HILL OR GOING AROUND A SHARP TURN WHERE THE STEERING AND BRAKES SYSTEMS WOULD NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. MY TRUCK HAS AN ECODIESEL ENGINE. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE TRUCK HA DMULTIPLE PROBLEM CODES ON THE COMPUTER ANALYSIS. THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY LOOSE PINS IN A CONNECTOR AND A LOOSE GROUND WIRE. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM LIKE THIS AND THE SUDDENNESS OF THIS PROBLEM WAS SCARY.
THE HEADLAMPS ARE TOO DIM, CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT. ALL THE TIME
3-4 TIMES NOW I HAVE PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK, STARTED TO EXIT AND HAD IT GO INTO REVERSE. ONE TIME I WAS OUT OF THE TRUCK FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND THE DOOR HIT ME. I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK IN AND STOP IT EVERY TIME.
ON NOVEMBER 05, 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 1230 HOURS I WALKED OUT TO MY RAM 1500 PICK UP TRUCK, WHICH WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND STARTED IT UP. I PULLED THE TRUCK FORWARD IN MY DRIVEWAY APPROXIMATELY A FULL TRUCK LENGTH, PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND EXITED THE TRUCK, LEAVING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPEN. THE TRUCK WAS LEFT IDLING. I BEGAN TO WALK TO THE REAR OF MY TRUCK, WHERE A FRIEND WAS STANDING NEAR MY FLATBED TRAILER. THE PLAN WAS TO HOOK THE TRAILER UP TO THE TRUCK. AS I WAS WALKING TO THE REAR OF MY TRUCK, I OBSERVED THE TRUCK ROLLING BACKWARDS. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND AND BEGAN TO RUN BACK TO THE TRUCK. AS THE TRUCK WAS ROLLING, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR CAUGHT THE TIRE OF THE VEHICLE PARKED NEXT TO IT. AS I JUMP BACK IN THE TRUCK I CHECK THE SHIFT INDICATOR AND OBSERVED IT TO BE IN PARK WHILE ROLLING. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS THEN PUSHED BACKWARDS AND INTO THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT FENDER. I THEN STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT FILLS WITH WATER. THE WATER HAPPENS WHEN EVER THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. THE CONDENSATION NEVER DISSIPATES AND KEEPS THE LIGHT LENS FOGGED UP. THIS HINDERS VISIBILITY. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND TO FIX THIS PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL.

THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER :20V036000 (POWER TRAIN) AND 19V818000 (EQUIPMENT, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO RUSSELL WESTBROOK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF VAN NUYS LOCATED AT (6110 VAN NUYS BLVD, VAN NUYS, CA 91401) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS VEHICLE WAS LEASED FROM MID COUNTRY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP ON 12/16/2015 AS PART OF AN EIGHT VEHICLE FLEET. ON 10/5/2016, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND JUMPER CABLES WERE REQUIRED TO START THE ENGINE. VEHICLE OPERATOR IS CURRENTLY DELIVERING THE VEHICLE TO THE MID COUNTY DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THE OPERATOR REPORTS THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS ERRATIC - THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING, THE TACHOMETER IS NOT WORKING, THE ODOMETER IS NOT WORKING, INDICATOR PANEL LIGHTS ARE FLICKERING, AND SEAT BELT ALERT SYSTEM IS TURNING ON WITHOUT CAUSE. MECHANICS REPORT WILL BE PROVIDED AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE. WHILE THIS IS THE FIRST MALFUNCTION ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT OUR FLEET CONSISTS SOLELY OF RAM 1500S, WITH SEVEN BEING 2016 MODELS AND ONE 2015. BATTERY AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE HAS BEEN PERVASIVE THROUGHOUT OUR ENTIRE FLEET.
UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL IS STICKY WITH EXCESSIVE FOGGING OF WINDSHIELD. "DASHBOARD" IS STICKY, WON'T CLEAN UP WITH WATER BASED CLEANERS/ CLEANING WIPES. RESIDUE ON INSIDE SURFACE OF WINDSHIELD WON'T CLEAN UP WITHOUT CLEANER. THE RESIDUE IS EXCESSIVE AND CAUSES MODERATE VISIBILITY PROBLEMS WHEN DRIVING WITH SUN DIRECTLY IN YOUR FACE. NOTED EXCESSIVE BUILDUP OF RESIDUE WITHIN TWO YEARS OF PURCHASE - SAME TIME NOTED THAT BUILD UP OF DUST, BUGS ON THE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED.
AT 24300 MILES THE ENGINE BEGAN VIBRATING VERY HARD AND THEN QUIT. AFTER CHECKING THE OIL, IT WAS GOOD, I CREPT THE TRUCK TO A CONVENIENCE STORE AND CALLED AAA. TOWED VEHICLE TO NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH CERTIFIED TECHS TO FIX MY TRUCK WITHOUT IT BEING AT DEALER FOR 2 MONTHS. SERVICE MGR CALLED AROUND AND FOUND A DEALER WHO COULD REPAIR TRUCK. METAL PIECES INCLUDING BEARINGS WERE FOUND IN THE OIL PAN. CHRYSLER REPLACED THE ENGINE UNDER WARRANTY. NO EXPLANATION WAS GIVEN AND WHEN ASKED IF THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED ON THE NEW ENGINE RECEIVED NO ANSWER. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE ENGINE FAILER OR WHETHER RAM HAS FIXED THIS EVER OCCURRING AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND IN THE PARK POSITION, IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO SEVERAL OBJECTS, INCLUDING A MOTOR HOME THAT WAS OCCUPIED. TWO OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES AND REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,556.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE BODY DAMAGES WERE REPAIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2016, MY TRUCK WENT THROUGH A BUILDING WHILE NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE. AT AROUND 7 AM ON SAID DATE, MY DAUGHTER, WHO WAS THE DRIVER, EXITED THE VEHICLE TO SO INTO A BAGEL STORE IN A STRIP MALL. SHE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND EXITED THE VEHICLE WITH HER KEYS IN HAND, SHE TURNED AROUND TO REMOTE START THE VEHICLE. IT WAS A COOL MORNING. UPON ENGAGING THE REMOTE START, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MOVE ON ITS OWN, RUNNING INTO THE STRIP MALL ADDRESS OF GARFIELD RD, CLINTON TWP MI. THE BAGEL STORE EMPLOYEE SAW THIS ALL UNFOLD, YET THE POLICE DID NOT WANT HER AS A WITNESS. INSTEAD, THE POLICE TICKETED HER FOR CARELESS DRIVING. SHE WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME IT WENT INTO THE BUILDING YET STILL RECEIVED A TICKET. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A CAR DEALERSHIP IN MI. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN ROUTE, MY DAUGHTER CALLED CHRYSLER TO INFORM THEM OF THE ACCIDENT. SHE WAS TOLD TO MAKE SURE THAT NO ONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP TOUCHED THE TRUCK. CHRYSLER WANTED TO SEND IN THEIR PEOPLE TO INVESTIGATE. THE TRUCK SAT ON THE LOT FOR A WEEK. OF COURSE THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG? IN THE MEANTIME I CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE HOW MANY POINTS THIS TICKET WAS THAT WAS NOT WARRANTED. TOO MANY. SO I HIRED A LOCAL ATTORNEY TO FIGHT THE TICKET. I STILL HAD TO PAY FOR THE ATTORNEY AND A FINE. IN CONCLUSION, I OWN A TRUCK THAT MOVES ON ITS OWN, CHRYSLER STATES THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT; THERE IS A WITNESS THAT SAW THAT NO ONE WAS IN THE TRUCK. THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM HERE AND NO ONE IS OWNING UP TO IT. I WOULD LIKE SOME CONCRETE ANSWERS ON THE PROBLEM. MY CHILD DRIVES IT EVERYDAY AND I FEEL THAT SHE IS CONSTANTLY AT RISK. IT IS A LEASE AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO TURN IT IN. I AM IN A WORRIED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING AGAIN. PLEASE HELP US. *TR
EVENT: ON SEPTEMBER 7TH AT APPROXIMATELY 07:16PM MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON HWY 380 AT MILEPOST 44 IN A REMOTE PART OF NEW MEXICO BETWEEN ROSWELL AND SAN ANTONIO. OUR SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH. WE HAD BEEN TRAVELING FOR 6 DAYS AND APPROXIMATELY 2000 MILES BETWEEN VANCOUVER, WA AND THE LOCATION THE ENGINE FAILED. THE ENGINE ON MY 2015 RAM ECODIESEL BEGAN MAKING A GROANING SOUND. NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED ON MY DASH AND WITHIN MINUTES THE SOUND BECAME LOUDER AND THE ENGINE WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY. FINALLY, THERE WAS A LOUD "BANG" AND THE ENGINE LOST POWER. AGAIN, NO WARNING LIGHTS AND NO INDICATION OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING. WE PUSHED THE UCONNECT "ASSIST" BUTTON AND A TOW TRUCK WAS SUMMONED. WE WERE TOWED TO SIERRA BLANCA RAM DEALERSHIP IN RUIDOSO, NEW MEXICO. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THE ENGINE THEY DISCOVERED THE NUMBER 5 CYLINDER HAD EXPLODED AND CRACKED THE ENGINE BLOCK IN THE PROCESS. THE MECHANIC TOLD US THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED CHRYSLER WARRANTY AND AS OF 09.17.16 WE STILL HAVE NO ANSWER FROM CHRYSLER ON WHETHER THEY WILL APPROVE A NEW ENGINE. THE MECHANIC HAS TOLD ME SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST WEEK THAT CHRYSLER WILL NOT APPROVE REPLACEMENT OF A NEW ENGINE UNTIL SEVERAL MORE "PICTURES AND DOCUMENTATION" CAN BE SUBMITTED. THIS, DESPITE THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDATION THAT WE NEED A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT IMMEDIATELY AND THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION THAN A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT.

UPON RESEARCH ONLINE AND OTHERS HAVING ISSUE CHECKED THE EGR WHICH WAS SATURATED, RETURN BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON 08/18/2016 FOR REPAIR WITH ENGINE WARRANTY BUT INFORMED THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED AS IT WAS A BASIC COMPONENT. CALLED DODGE WHO STATED SAME INFORMATION NON-COVERAGE OF ENGINE WARRANTY, AS IS A BOLT ON ITEM (ALTHOUGH IT RELATED TO ENGINE, IN FACT ONE EMPLOYEE WAS SHOCKED IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ENGINE). DRUNK DRIVER HIT CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND I SWERVED TO THE LEFT AND T-BONED DRUNK DRIVER ON PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CAUSING HIM TO SPIN AROUND AND SLAM INTO DRIVER SIDE OF BED. WITH THIS KIND OF IMPACT AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED AND FUEL CUT OFF SHOULD HAVE ENGAGED, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED.

I TOLD THEM IT LOOKED LIKE OIL IN COOLANT AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS. FAULTY OIL COOLER LED TO OIL IN EVERY PART THAT ENGINE COOLANT ENCOMPASSES. THIS LEADS TO THE TRUCK OVERHEATING VERY QUICKLY AT TIMES. POSSIBILITY OF COOLANT IN THE ENGINE BLACK AS WELL, THEY CANNOT PROVE OTHERWISE WHICH COULD LEAD TO CRACKED ENGINE BLOCKS. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR APPROX 75 DAYS AND THEY HAVE REPLACED NUMEROUS PARTS WITH NO REMEDY TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUING TO COME ON. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN LIGHT ORIGINALLY CAME ON. IT'S NOW BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND I HAVE RESEARCHED AND DISCOVERED HUNDREDS OF OTHER CASES. THIS IS A FAULTY OIL COOLER IN 2014-2017 MODELS OF THE DODGE ECO DIESEL 1500 PICKUP. FCA PUT ME OFF FOR WEEKS SAYING THEY WOULD CALL ME AND NEVER WOULD, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO GIVE ME PAPERWORK DETAILING THE PROCESS AND FCA COULD NOT REACH THE DEALERSHIP FOR WEEKS. THEY HAVE HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE IN EMPTY REMOTE PARKING LOTS - SO NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. THEY HAVE HAPPENED WITH HEAT / OR COOL SYSTEM ON. WE DO NOT GET NOTICEABLE FUMES IN THE CABIN WHEN TRAVELING AT FASTER/HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES, HOWEVER THIS COMPLAINT FORM ONLY ALLOWS PICKING ONE DATE.

I TOOK TRUCK TO LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER IN (JOE MACHENS) COLUMBIA, MO MID OCTOBER 2016. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. CHRYSLER STATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT HAVE NO FIX AS OF 11/21/2016. VERY POOR COMMUNICATIONS COMING BACK TO ME FROM CHRYSLER ENHANCED CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAVE SPOKE WITH KAITLYN, KENYA AND VERONICA OVER THE PAST MONTH ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH NO TIME FRAME WHEN CHRYSLER WILL HAVE IT RESOLVED. TRUCK IS USED AS A DAILY COMMUTER. MOSTLY HIGHWAY TRAVELLING, BUT RUSH HOUR IS STOP AND GO FOR A GOOD 10 MILES EACH WAY. 3 DIFFERENT SERVICE DEPARTMENTS HAVE INFORMED ME THIS IS PRETTY COMMON DUE TO THE NICKEL COMPONENT IN THE ROTORS. THEY ARE RECOMMENDING REPLACING THEM OR MACHINING THEM AT A COST OF $250 PLUS NEW PADS EVEN THOUGH THEY DO NOT NEED REPLACING. ROTORS WERE ONLY WARRANTED FOR 1 YEAR OR 12,000 MILES.

THE DEALER CURRENTLY HAS THE TRUCK FOR DAY NUMBER 4. THEY CAN'T FIND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH IT THREW A CODE WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE TRUCK IS BRAND NEW 2015 RAM 1500 WITH APPROXIMATELY 1250 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

AFTER 6 MONTH OF DRIVING RAM 1500 , LIGHT IS ON " CHECK ENGINE" TRACK STILL HAVE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY, I' BE BEEN THREE TIMES AT SERVICE THEY DIDN'T FIXED IT.MY FRIEND HAVE SAME PROBLEM WITH RAM 3500 ;2015YEAR. IS THERE ANY BODY HAVE SAME PROBLEM?
