The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the residence and later restarted and driven to the local dealer who diagnosed that the tone wheel and crankshaft position sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 120,000.
Because ofBad abs module not connecting to camper trailer brakes causes a very dangerous condition.
Intermittent issue with power steering where the wheel becomes extremely hard to turn in both directions. Also have had issue where wheel will stop turning midway through a turn and when trying to return to center.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power, after which the contact became aware that the vehicle had gone into LIMP Mode. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler, resulting in damages to the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 180,000.
Driving on the highway and power steering failed. Almost got into an accident pulling off the highway. Power steering failure light came on the dashboard. Dealer told me the recall had nothing to do with my VIN. There was no accident to cause the problem. The truck is in overall great condition. I think there are many Ram 1500 trucks out there that fall under the 2016 power steering recall and mine is one of them. Quoted out $3,000 and no sign of a power steering rack available for who knows how long. Very discouraged and taken advantage of.
I was driving on the highway when my power steering went completely out. I had no warning and had no idea what was happening. I could not steer my vehicle. There were other drivers all around me and they all had to avoid my truck. I gradually slowed down and was able to pull it off to the shoulder, almost getting in multiple accidents on the way. I called the closest dealer and they said it was a failure of the electrical power steering system. I was able to get my truck to the dealership. They inspected the truck and they said the part that failed was the power steering rack (Part #68628858AA) and that there was no recall for this system. My truck has now been in the shop for over two weeks and the dealership says this part is on backorder (Which is a clear indication that there is a bigger issue with this part). After doing some online research, I found there have been numerous reports of power steering issues and recalls for 2013-2016 Dodge Ram 1500s which makes me question why my vehicle wasn't included. This was a terrifying situation and I think this requires the attention of the NHTSA.
No power going up hills, won't shift going down hill, park sensors lights come on, zero oil pressure then Electronic Throttle. From what I seen on internet and from others with the same issues it's due to high pressure fuel pump which has a recall on it. But when it was sold by the dealership in November 2023 the dealership said there was NO open recalls. But then I find out there is an open recall for the high pressure fuel pump. Now this issues keeps going on. And today September 6 2024 my vehicle lost all power and the fuel light and Electronic throttle Warning light came on and if I had not been in the right Lane and a turn in I would have been hit from behind!
Was driving to store got to store came out vehicle won't start just keeps turning over. From others that have the same vehicle ecodiesel I'm told it's the tone wheel/crankshaft position. And that the cheap plastic housing chips which causes the no start. Also recall for high pressure fuel pump. And the closest dealership to me can't get my vehicle in for over a month and won't provide a loaner vehicle. I'm well over 2 hours from any other dealership. I bought this vehicle from a dodge ram dealership and was told "NO RECALLS PRESENT " they even had me sign a paper that stated that and gave me a carfax that so no recalls and no recalls ever. But turns out there are 18 recalls for this vehicle. Bought thus vehicle November 2023. So now this vehicle is sitting in my driveway not running and can't get it fixed because the closest dealership can't because they have 1 ONE technician, and no other dealership will tow it to get fix free of charge. All of the symptoms are related to both recalls. High pressure fuel pump, and tone wheel /crankshaft position. Lastly a LOT of people are having to replace the intake manifold regardless of milage for this type of motor.
Number 8 roller fell down and cause the camshaft to have deep groove in the loob. I rebuilt the upper part of the motor bur now still getting check engine light on… july 2023 2nd) Now the power steering is trying to lock up while driving. On sept 2, 2024
ABS Module failed triggering BRAKE light service and ABS Service light, and the ESB light. 6 month + and counting to get this OEM module. Why are you not addressing the supply chain issue......
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to stop and had the vehicle jumpstarted. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The contact advised the mechanic that the check engine warning light was illuminated for almost one year prior to the failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the check engine warning light had been illuminated. The contact called a dealer who advised the contact to bring the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test to be performed. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,545.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the service power steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The following day, the vehicle was started, the service power steering warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the power steering was inoperable and failed to function as intended. The contact performed a diagnostic test and retrieved DTC code: C2217, which indicated a failed power steering unit. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact researched NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and experienced a loss in motive power. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the road and restarted the vehicle; however, upon arrival to the destination, there was black smoke coming from the rear exhaust. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the contact was advised to take the vehicle to a local dealer for a recall repair. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where the high-pressure fuel pump was replaced; however, metal fragments were found in the fuel injectors were damaged. The contact was informed that unburnt fuel had damaged the DEF sensor and the sensor needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact was informed that the failure was related to Chrysler Recall: Z46; however, the repair was not covered by the warranty. The vehicle was not repaired because the repair was not covered by the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
ABS, traction control and BRAKE lights on continuously, took to shop to run diagnostic and was told the problem relates to the actuator leaking into the module which now both need to be replaced. Chrysler dealer states parts are "on back order" and have been for over 6 months due to"re-engineering" issues. Talked to several other Ram owners with same problem to hear they understand Stelantis has no intention of re-engineering due to cost and possible recall responsibility. This is a real safety issue, why has a recall not been initialized?
Power steering stops working. Then will be being working again.
In August 2024, the ABS Module on my 2015 RAM 1500 failed - the ABS and Brake lights are on full time. I have new brakes so the vehicle is safe to drive, but with the ABS module out, the cruise control does not work either. A new ABS module is impossible to find - dealers or independent shops cannot get one. Apparently, the part is on engineering hold. Reading various forums, this is a common and known Dodge failure with no foreseeable resolution. There are recalls and class action lawsuits, but not for my year / model. I can't get it fixed, I can't sell it with a known failed system and there is no timeline to resolve the problem. Not to mention the decreased safety with the ABS inoperative. This is completely unsatisfactory.
Fuel Tank strap (Front) disconnected from the frame slot it is attached to. The frame slot is completely rusted out. This was a recall on earlier models and amended to include other years including my year (2015). Yet it does not come up as a recall for my vehicle. I've seen online that this is a common problem with the Ram 1500. Vehicle mileage is 50,575.
In August of 2024 I began receiving an error message in my vehicle stating "Service Electronic Breaking System" on the gauge cluster. I also noticed the dash lights indicating that the ABS and traction control were disabled. The vehicle remained in this state whenever the vehicle was running. While i was returning home from work i hit the breaks on the freeway and the breaks locked up and i began to slide due to the ABS not functioning properly. Thankfully there was no accident but obviously this is extremely unsafe and the vehicle cannot be driven in this condition. I made an appointment on August 26,2024 to have the vehicle inspected and serviced at the dealership where i purchased the vehicle. After some correspondence the service rep indicated that there were other vehicles in for service for the same issue. It is now 28 Jan 2025 as of the date of this submission and my vehicle has still been able to be repaired. After numerous inquires with the service department i was informed that the module in question was under Engineer Review at the manufacturer and they could not ship the part until that was complete. The ETA of completion has been pushed back several times ,everytime i enquire for an update and is currently projected at 19 February, I have also opened an inquiry with the manufacturer Ram Customer Care / Stellantis case for assistance and havent received much in the way of additional information or assistance.
2015 Ram 1500 Laramie, 2x4, 5.7L, 60693K miles. The ABS, Traction Control, Trailer Breaking lights are on and off since roughly 51K miles also impacting Adaptive Cruise Control making them all inoperable, even though the truck is still able to be drive, albeit unsafely. I took it to my local repair shop and O'Reilly parts and was told the ABS Controle Module, part number 68228991AD was identified as bad (C2200-49 and in need of replacing at approximately $2000 and that the part is on indefinite backorder. I tried to locate the part on my own and there is in fact a nationwide backorder. After further investigation, I found multiple owners on Ram forums either having or have had the same problems. On one parts website, I found this message regarding the part: PART ON HOLD UNTIL ENGINEERING REVIEW IS COMPLETE, EXP - MAR 20TH, 2025.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with ABS module failure. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with ABS module failure. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts to repair the vehicle were on back order. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the rear tires locked up and the vehicle came to a complete stop. The ABS and another unknown warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was inoperable. The vehicle was towed to a tire shop, but the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the ABS was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.
Engine seized while driving at freeway speeds. Complete and permanent loss of power to the vehicle without warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms. Near collisions on freeway due to sudden loss of power and no power to maneuver the vehicle. Emergency tow required to remove myself and vehicle from soft center median with no guard rail. The manufacturer/dealership has inspected the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
Air suspension has failed multiple times. The latest making it impossible to drive. Traction control also goes out with the air suspension, it's extremely difficult to maintain control on even the smoothest roads because every little bump jars the whole truck. The truck has been in the shop and they just keep finding issues that shouldn't even affect the suspension, like the heated steering wheel and tire sensors that have the suspension suspended. Warning messages that pop up include: service electronic breaking system, service trailer brake, service air suspension, check engine light has been on and off with the suspension issues and traction control light as well.
Truck has less than 78k miles on it and I am the second owner. Bought it from a dealer and I mentioned to them that the rear end seemed to have some new metal pieces on it with silicone around it. Hard to imagine silicone used on a rear end. When I questioned it, the salesman stated that it was all set and fine. When I road tested it, there was a stiffness in the steering wheel. I mentioned that as well and was told that they steer hard. Then once home, it continued and that didn't sit quite right with me, so I continued to contact the dealership and they never would return my calls. Eventually, something gave and the steering was fine. We have had the truck a year as of May 2024. On [XXX] I was driving on the highway, at 70mph and the rear end just snapped on my truck! In the middle of the highway! I cannot see a drop of gear oil, if there should be some. Rear end snapped clear off to spline. No idea what caused this as of yet. Spent 2 weeks trying to get the dealership to return my calls, texts or emails. Then took time off work to drive over there. Service man told me that Chrysler may cover it, Chrysler said it was the dealerships responsibility. Unreal. Never have a I towed a single thing with this truck, the rear end never should have busted like this. I seen some recalls, but do not know why my particular truck was not listed. I did see another complaint on this site, regarding the axle breaking and causing the rear end to bust. I have not taken the truck apart as of yet. Nobody wants to take responsibility without severe out of pockets costs to me. I am already without a vehicle to get to work. My power steering failed suddenly while driving in the middle of a turn. I nearly crashed into a group of people on a sidewalk because the wheel was nearly impossible to turn. I was given no warnings or indicators ahead of time. I now have the "Service Power Steering" light on my dash and it is still very difficult to turn my wheel. A reputable mechanic has inspected the issue and has identified that the power steering module is completely malfunctioning and they will need to replace it entirely (quoted $3500.00). I have seen that there was a recall specifically for power steering on 2015 Ram 1500's, but Fiat/Chrysler has advised that my VIN does not qualify for the recall. This sudden failure on the power steering is extremely dangerous and could cause loss of the life to drivers, passengers, or bystanders. Please urge Fiat/Chrysler to issue a recall on all 2015 Ram 1500's!
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was receiving a State Inspection, the mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a small fuel leak, due to a faulty fuel cap. The fuel cap was replaced, and the failure was remedied. The contact stated that the failure eventually reoccurred, and the fuel cap was replaced a second time. The manufacturer and local dealer were not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V632000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.
The steering system failed as I was about to begin backing up. A service light came on to service power steering. I no longer had any power assist to turn the wheel and it was nearly impossible to turn enough to get out of the traffic way. No fix has been performed yet.
The steering in the truck prevents us from safely making necessary left and right turns when backing up and driving forward. It has caused near accidents and had it investigated at the local RAM dealership. The steering is defective, but will cause us thousands of dollars to replace because a recall has not been solidified. Fix this please for the safety of my children.
My electric power stear started to go in and out as I was driving. It got very hard to stear and as I was trying to turn would cone back on causing me to drive off the road into a ditch. Now dose not work at all
Truck completely lost steering control while maneuvering. When trying to turn left the truck would violently turn the steering wheel to the right, and vise versa. Or just not turn at all. This is a major life safety issue and needs to be recalled immediately.
My truck wheel does not turn and I’m getting the service power steering on my dash with the red wheel and exclamation mark!!! Please advice why isn’t there a recall yet this been going on for a couple years now
ABS control module internal failure. Can't get a replacement park because this is such a problem. Local dealership says they have a list of over 100 customers who need this part. And it's a nation wide issue.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the cruise control failed to function as intended. The ABS, traction control, and brake warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The contact was informed parts were not available for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Took my 2015 ram to the dealer because of ABS, TRACTION and BREAK light was on the dash. They said my ABS CONTROL MODUAL was bad and needs to be replace. Part is back order and can't find the part no ware!!!!!!! WHEN WILL THE PART BE AVAILABLE?
My truck, like those of numerous other Ram owners, has a malfunctioning ABS Control Module. Because of this malfunction, the ABS and cruise control do not work. In turn, this places me and other owners of this vehicle in an unsafe situation in that lack of an operating ABS system is conducive to skidding and accidents. Some owners have even reported that they cannot drive their vehicles due to locked brakes which resulted from this malfunction. I have a standing Brake , ABS , Anti Skid light and no Cruise control. All symptoms of a failed ABS Module. New Repair parts are not available from the Dealers or other Repair shops. Many trucks and drivers are at risk especially in winter weather or rain slick roads.
The crankshaft sensor and turn wheel had a recall of 2015. My Vin.# Did not make the list. Every where on line said the turn wheel magnets started breaking just after 100,000 miles. Mine broke just under 108,000 miles. It cost $2,969.33 to fix this. I want re-embursed!!!! The year, the millage, the problem all match up for this truck to be on the recall. They said Mine just needed an update. Wrong! It broke just like the others and cost me almost $3000. The mechanic called the magnetic piece that broke in the transmission the (turn wheel ) I think. Please look into this.
While turning into a parking lot from the road, the steering locked up and was impossible to turn left or right. Basically stuck in the middle of the turn lane and parking lot. Flatbed tow truck was called and transported to a local repair shop.
I have replaced the rack and pinion on my truck 3 times so far. It keeps failing. This is unacceptable. There is obviously a problem and Ram has to address it. How is it possible only certain trucks qualify for a recall regarding the same exact thing. My truck is currently at the shop getting the rack and pinion replaced again. As they were trying to get the truck into the bay, due to the power steering not working, it was crashed into a pole. This needs to be resolved asap!
ABS, Brake, and traction light came on. Took my vehicle to dealership for diagnostic. The dealership stated it was caused by internal failure to ABS module and HCU. Parts are not available for repair due to parts engineering approval. This is a safety issue were the brakes could fail. Manufacturers should be responsible for repairs and recall vehicles for safety issues. How can the dealership say ABS is unavailable to order.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the repair failed to prevent the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump replacement had failed, causing metal shavings to enter the fuel line, fuel injectors, and the engine. The vehicle was left at the local dealer for further diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by the local dealer and the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 148,321.
Upon startup the vehicle routinely fails to load the infotainment/center console. This failure prevents the operator from seeing the rear view camera. Nothing in the console comes online for several minutes and other times it loads just fine. It has occured on my truck more than 50 different times.
The power steering went out as I was about to drive the 2015 Ram 1500. The vehicle is available for inspection. A warning light appeared on the dash..red steering wheel with red exclamation mark. I was not able to drive the truck as I could not turn the steering wheel. I had it towed to the local RAM dealer who gave me an estimate to replace steering rack and pinion. The truck has been garage kept and has less than 5,000 miles on it !!!
Abs module failure. No cruise control ,abs , trailer brakes, traction control. Parts in engineering review for over a year now. Call each month only to be told next month.
I experienced partial loss of electric power steering or (EPS) while driving. if I turn the wheel roughly 30 degrees either way the power steering is out. There was no crash but this did happen while driving and I did have difficulty making a turn, if there was more traffic or if I was on a tighter road I could have easily hit someone else or run off the road. There were no warning lights or messages that indicate the problem before it happened or after. I've had a local dealership (where I bought the truck) and another independent service center inspect it and confirm that the EPS system is the problem and needs to be replaced. The local dealership wants over 6k for the repairs and refuses to work with me on that until this is an official recall. My understanding is that there is an open investigation on this issue, is there any timeline on when it could be resolved? My vehicle is available for inspection if necessary.
While traveling at 40 mph my steering locked and was unable to turn the wheel at all. By the time I stopped I was on the shoulder of the opposite lane. Lucky for me there was no traffic or else it would have been a head on collision. Had the truck towed and learned that the electronic steering failed and the replacement parts were 90 days plus on backorder. After searching 2 weeks found a used one in a junk yard. this problem will cause an accident that could easily be fatal.
While driving my vehicle seemed to downshift (best way I can describe it) and then I had a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT come on and another type of warning light came on. I was able to get it to a place that put a tester on it and I got a DIAGNOSTIC CODE P0336. REPLACE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. I had to drive it home but it wasn't running right and is hard to start now. I have only had this truck since Dec. 2021 and this makes the 4th sensor that has messed up! I will call a dealer Monday to make a service appointment but I feel I shouldn't have to pay for this! Luckily I was able to drive it home. Can you help me? Thank you. I previously sent a complaint regarding my vehicles CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. I took it to a dealership and I now have to wait for the part to be ordered! Then it is going to be about 2 weeks before it can be repaired! I was told by the dealership that this part had been on a recall list! So I feel someone should be responsible for fixing and paying for this repair! Approximately $1000! I bought the truck used so therefore the dealer I bought it from should have known this! Right?! HOLZHAUERS MOTORS..NASHVILLE ILLINOIS My truck is being repaired by ABSHER ARNOLD MOTORS MARION ILLINOIS NOW. This is close to where I now live. I really feel someone should be helping me with this repair! You can verify my info by contacting Absher Motors 618-993-5000 Help would be appreciated!
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while replacing the front tires, the contact discovered that the front fuel tank bracket was rusted, and the bracket had detached. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where an inspection was completed; however, the contact received no response after the completed inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised that the repair was not covered under a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
Hello, I have a Ram equipped with the Air Ride Suspension. It has been a long on going problem for me. It has been a safety concern as it involves with the Suspension of the vehicle and at random moments the front end of the truck will drop all the way down to the bump stops making it impossible to drive or steer. I have noticed I am not the only one and that plenty of other people have delt with this issue as well.
