LOSING STEERING FUNCTIONS (PER LIMITED RECALL). MY TRUCK WAS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL OF ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILURE
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a failure related to the intake manifold. The mechanic informed the contact that the intake manifold needed to be inspected or replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Feels like the steering keeps going in and out one second it is okay the next it is very hard to steer were you can barely turn the wheel at all at any speed
Instrument cluster goes black. I have noticed a lot of people complaining about the same issue
The check engine light has been on and the code and a message of fuel sender unit failure is on the message being displayed. The vehicle always shows empty even when filled. I never know if the the car is going to run out of fuel while I'm diving it on the road or highway. I have to keep very good records to estimate how many miles I'll get before needing to refill. I've seen recalls from other car makers for the same problem.
Truck loses power when you accelerate at any various moments. Forces you to put it in park and then I'll have to restart the engine and then it'll drive normal like nothing happen. Power steering is a little hard which cruise control doesn't work when this is happening.
I have had rust all throughout the frame of the truck
The ABS light came on and we were told we’d have to replace that part and learned there was a recall so the part is on back order. Although the year of our truck is 2015 I believe this relates to the recall for the other ram trucks considering it’s the same problem.
Electric power steering rack has failed. It's very, very hard to steer the vehicle. Happened when it was cold and snowy out. I'm lucky it occurred in my driveway, and I wasn't at speed on the highway! Dealer says it's a module in the steering rack. Quoted over 3k to replace the electronic power steering rack. I can't afford that... That kind of repair was never anticipated when I purchased this vehicle.
I have my traction control light show up on the dash. Took my truck to a mechanic thinking it might be my ABS Sensors. The code came up showing I am in need of the ABS Control Module. This seems to have been recalled on many of the Ram trucks as recent as September 2024. Also doing a lot of research, this seems to have been an ongoing problem for Ram trucks 2014-2016. The dealerships currently do not have the replacement part # 68228991AD which will replace the original 68228991AA, AB, and AC. It is apparently in engineering review. With the snow my location just had, I can tell you I have lost traction on the road. I have also lost traction and had hard braking on dry pavement within the past few weeks which is why I took the truck to the mechanic and learned of the ABS Control Module needing replaced. This should be recalled on all of the Ram trucks not just the 2019, 2021-2024.
Received Service ABS System/Service Electronic Braking System indication on HUDS. Brake System OBD-II Reader shows ABS Module Failure. Consulted local dealership and pre-purchased the replacement part in Nov 2024. To date (Feb 19th, 2025) the parts expected delivery date has been moved out one month at a time for the last 4 months. This part failure causes the braking system to operate in a conventional manner, meaning that when the brakes are applied, they actuate at all 4 wheels simultaneously. This results in loss of handling in wet conditions. Several instances I have had to apply the brakes in an emergency during wet road conditions and narrowly escaped collision with other motor vehicles. Additionally, Louisiana state inspection requirements state that the vehicle MUST pass safety inspection to be allowed on the road. With this failure of a critical safety system, I have been unable to operate my vehicle safely and legally on Louisiana roadways.

Vehicle is flashing service electronic braking system/Traction controland break light flashing. Seem the issue is related to other year models with the HCU/brake motor recalls that have been issued. I'm looking at having to spend over $3k just to have the unit replaced at a dealership. I don't feel safe while driving my truck as the other day when in the rain it started driving crazy when I lost traction on wet pavement uphill. The truck started trying to auto correct because of the traction issues was throwing me from side to side on the road. I believe this to be a bigger problem with FCA vehicles than they are reporting. With the issue being identified as a manufacturer part and the majority of the parts being almost identical in design it seems they should recall more year models. Along with that the replacement is not all that different in design either. The brushes in the motor are sticking resulting in the motor not functioning properly. So now I'm stuck not feeling comfortable with any of the fixes even if the offered them to my year model if they are using the same motor design.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while coming to a stop, the brake pedal was depressed due to the vehicle in front abruptly stopping with the ABS warning light illuminated. On several occasions, the brake pedal felt abnormal when depressed. On another occasion, the contact stated that the vehicle accelerated up to 30 MPH which caused the contact to rear-end another vehicle. The air bag did not deploy. No injuries were sustained, and no medical attention was provided. A Police report was filed with the Florida Highway Patrol and the report number was not provided to the contact. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ABS module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the contact was informed that no after-market parts were available. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall related to the brake booster failure however the part was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 188,635.
Service Antilock Brake System and Service Electronic Braking System warning lights keep coming on. Truck intermittently tries to stop.
My vehicle has a malfunction ABS module and is causing error codes. The OEM Mopar part 68228991AD has been discontinued for years. Getting a replacement has become impossible. I have called the company and they said they are looking into the issue. This has been going on for a very long time. Mopar needs to either sell the item, or issue a recall, if the item is faulty. My ABS is a risk and cause an accident in bad weather. PLEASE HELP ME GET MY REPLACEMENT PART so I can safely drive my truck.
the electronic power steering went out while operating the pick up on a city street and I was unable to steer the vehicle which created a safety issue for the pedestrians and passengers. There were no warnings or messages indicating a problem prior to me losing steering capability. I pulled over but had to get the truck off the roadway so I drove without power steering to the repair shop. This ‘repair’ cost me $183. The repair shop said they checked for recalls with my VIN, but there wasn't anything so I paid for the repair and drove home. The very next day, the power steering went out while driving on a city street again. I took the pickup back to the dealership for further repair. In researching this issue, I noticed there was a previous recall on the 2015 and 2016 electronic power steering in the Ram trucks for this very reason. I was advised by the dealership that my VIN was not on the recall list. I also called the Ram recall center and they verified this to be true. I addition, I mailed multiple letters to the RAM complaint center but have never heard from them. I called the RAM complaint center and again was told my VIN wasn't on the recall. I expressed my concern regarding other VIN's that weren't on the recall but have experienced the safety concerns for the RAM drivers, passengers and any pedestrians or other drivers near the RAM with the issues.
Electronic Power Steering unit/rack failed. Vehicle is available for inspection, although would need to be towed. My safety and other drivers around me has been put at risk due to losing all power steering while driving down the highway. All it would take is losing power steering in a curve on a major highway to cause a major accident. The Electronic Power Steering units on multiple year model Ram 1500's has been reported, my truck alone has lost steering once in October, and again for half of November up until today, December 3rd. My individual EPS has not been inspected by anyone. There is no warning light when the power steering fails, you will be driving along just fine and the next moment, your steering is lost and extremely difficult to move. Once you limp to safety and shut your truck off, a "Service Power Steering" message will pop up and remain on your dash until your power steering unit is replaced.
ABS modules become defective and give errors. Mopar Part number 68228991AD has been discontinued with no new part number. This module affect stopping in icy and wet conditions. This is critical to the safety of the driver. Mopar needs to make an ABS module!!!
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle and shifting to drive(D), the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the power steering became functional. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring upon starting the vehicle and while driving. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact stated while driving 60-70 MPH, the steering wheel seized. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the power steering became functional; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the power steering control module (PSCM) had failed. The dealer determined that the PSCM and the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,500.
About a year ago my vehicles auto traction , brake light and abs light illuminated. The warning that my vehicle gives when I turn it on and start is braking system needs serviced and electrical breaking system needs serviced. The code that shows in diagnosis is abs brake module needs replaced. My brakes have not been right. The part has been back ordered for over a year. There are no parts and my dealer and Ram answer is it’s under engineering review till January 15. The dealership answer is get one from the junk yard which they’re aren’t any. I wouldn’t feel confident driving my grand babies with used brake parts. I was in an accident today because of brake failure and thankfully I didn’t hurt anyone in the car in front of me.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the engine warning light illuminated. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was difficult to steer. The vehicle went into LIMP Mode, and lost motive power. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road where the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the intake manifold and toner wheel needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there was no fuel pressure. The crankshaft position speed sensor magnet sensor had delaminated. The DTC code: P0336-00 was displayed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.
My vehicle steering system totally not working . so hard to turn the vehicle . there is some safety recall for same year and same model cars but i cant find my car is included . i m having the same issue with other truck which is same year and same model trucks . safety recall S19/NHTSA 16V-167. Why is my truck not included on this safety recall.?. THANKS IN ADVANCE .
ABS control module under engineering review Part not available, manufacturer has not supplied replacement part for 2 + years. Tens of Thousands of failures, some repeat failures and dealer will not replace with used part. Dealer will not cover cost to replace part which is unavailable. $1500.00 - $2000.00 cost to replace part knowing all new parts are faulty.
ABS Control module fault No cruise control No traction control Service trailer brakes control Multiple dash warning lights on No fault code
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the ABS, Traction Control, and Brake warning lights remained illuminated, and the brake pedal was not firm while depressed. The vehicle was taken to two local mechanics who diagnosed the ABS Module as faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified and informed that the ABS module was on backorder and not available for purchase. The manufacturer has not yet contacted us. The failure mileage was 86,000,
The ABS, Traction Control, Trailer Breaking lights are on also impacting Adaptive Cruise Control making them all inoperable, even though the truck is still able to be drive, albeit unsafely. I took it to my local dealership and was told the ABS Control Module, part number 68228991AD was identified as bad and in need of replacing at approximately $2000 and that the part is on indefinite backorder. I've been on the "waiting list" for roughly 8 months. I tried to locate the part on my own and there is in fact a nationwide backorder. After further investigation, I found multiple owners on Ram forums either having or have had the same problems. On one parts website, I found this message regarding the part: PART ON HOLD UNTIL ENGINEERING REVIEW IS COMPLETE, EXP - MAR 20TH, 2025. This is not just an issue with 2014-2015 Ram trucks, but extends to other Ram model years using the same part number.
Air bad for rear seat warning light. I can’t drive with my kids in vehicle. Erratic fuel issues stalling bad computer gives faulty reading. Cause me to get in necessary maintenance. Suspension issues always shakes on highway.
I looked under the truck before a long trip and found a gas tank strap hanging oddly. Upon looking further into discovered the mount has rusted through. Doing some online research I have found this is a fairly common issue.
The truck has 59,005 miles on it. Driving down the road the following alerts displayed: Service Antilock Brake System Service Electronic Brake System Service Trailer Brake System The truck is available for inspect. There were no symptoms prior to this event but has continually displays these warnings since the first time of displaying in October 2024. I have another car so I parked the truck and start it periodically but do not drive it. I was near home and able to drive there without incident. When I start the truck it immediately display the warnings. I am hesitant to drive it to an independent service center cause I don't know if the brake system will completely fail. In researching the warnings I found this to be a common issue with these trucks and found an NTSA recall for the same warnings for the truck but for different years.
I am filing this complaint regarding a serious and ongoing safety defect in my 2015 Ram 1500 involving the failure of the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module (Part No. 68228991AD). This failure completely disables the ABS, significantly reducing the vehicle’s braking performance and increasing the risk of loss of control or collision during emergency braking situations. This is a well-documented and widespread issue among Ram 1500 owners. Chrysler has discontinued the manufacture and supply of the affected ABS module, leaving owners without a viable means to restore this critical safety system. I have been placed on a waiting list for over two years for a replacement part, yet I have been informed repeatedly that there is no assurance one will ever become available. The dealership has even advised me to “buy a new truck” if I wish to have properly functioning anti-lock brakes. This situation is not only unreasonable—it is dangerous. The lack of a functioning ABS system places my family, my passengers, and others on the road at significant risk. The inability to obtain a replacement for a vital safety component effectively renders the vehicle unsafe for operation. I am aware that Ram recently issued a recall affecting approximately 1.5 million trucks for the same ABS defect. However, my model year has been excluded, despite exhibiting the identical failure. This selective recall leaves hundreds of affected consumers without recourse or protection. I respectfully request that Chrysler and the relevant regulatory authorities investigate this matter, extend the existing recall to include the 2015 Ram 1500, and compel the manufacturer to resume production and distribution of the necessary replacement parts to remedy this critical safety defect.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel seized with no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The power steering fails whenever the outside temperature is cold, below about 45 deg F. The failure occurs when the truck is started. The failire is very consistent, but again only when cold outside. When the failure occurs, after warming the engine compartment for 30-60 minutes and restarting the truck, the steering is then OK and the truck can be driven normally. When the failure occurs, the engine runs OK, and the truck can be operated, but without power steering it is very hard to drive safely. When the failure happens I have not tried to drive the car on roadways since it is very difficult to steer the truck. However, I am concerned that the steering failure could happen when driving, especially if the outiside temperature gets cold. I have consulted with an authorized RAM dealer and was told the electronic power steering module would need replacement, with estimated cost $3700. I decided against having the steering replaced, since the truck is usable once the engine warms. The dealer did not inspect the truck, since it only has failed on cold mornings in my driveway, so the failure and warning messages are gone once I drive it to the dealer. When the failure occurs there is a red message on the dashboard to "Service Power Steering". This message is somewhat redundant-- the lack of power steering is very evident as soon as you try to drive the truck.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the ETC warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. The ETC light disappeared and then the check engine warning light, ABS, and ETC warning lights illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Drove from North Carolina to Wisconsin [XXX] for a vacation, second day, [XXX], in Wisconsin went to start up my truck and had a "Service Power Steering" light appear on my dash. Steering wheel was extremely stiff to turn left and right. I tried disconnecting the positive terminal on the battery with no success. I called 3 different Dodge dealers in Wisconsin to see if they had any information on the issue. I was then notified of a possible Electric Power Steering (EPS) failure. Being 1,800 miles from home, this was not very exciting to hear. I was able to disconnect both terminals of the battery and get my power steering back in order to white-knuckle drive back home with the hopes of not losing my power steering while driving through the mountains. I will be calling my local dealer tomorrow, October 16, 2024 to inquire about possible steps to resolve this issue going forward. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. While the contact's wife was driving approximately 65 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle slowed, and the RPMs fell to nearly zero. The contact stated that the vehicle also experienced power steering failure, and the transmission shifted into park (P) and could not be taken out of park (P). The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to a local dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined the ABS module needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
22V-406 high pressure fuel pump ("HPFP") safty recall not completed as of Oct 7th 2024 vehicle had unexpected loss of motive power 20V-475 loss of crankshaft position I have loss of crankshaft position resulted in engine stall, as well as loss of the ability to restart the engine 19V-757 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) i have Coolant loss, coolant color Turing brown/black, major build up of soot buildup in intake manifold and EGR. Driving and vehicle lost all power fuel light came on, throttle control light came on, low oil light came on, speed dropped to 5mph when I was doing 55mph. Was able to coast vehicle off the road almost getting hit from behind by a semi truck. Dodge Dealership sold me truck November 2023 and said there was NO safty recalls open or uncompleted. But as I am now finding out the recall for the high pressure fuel pump was infact OPEN and uncompleted dealership even singed a document stating this vehicle has no recalls. Dealership says recalls 20V-475 and 19V-757 have already been done but getting the same issues as to why the recalls where issued. Now my vehicle has been at the dealership for a month and has yet to even be looked at and the dealership and Dodge refuse to provide a loaner vehicle and tell me to go rent one. I can't afford to rent a car it's over $300 a week without rental car insurance. I'm on limited income disabled veteran I have attempted to contact dodge ram corporate office and only get people that are overseas at a call center that provide no help and refuse to have someone at dodge ram corporate contact me Would provide photos of everything but unable to get the vehicle due to its in the back yard of the dealership.

2015 ram 1500 truck the abs module failed , the truck will put itself in park and it has to be towed to a safe place, the truck has been taken to a dealer and they have no parts to fix it with, the warning lights did come on but by that time the truck was not drivable , it has been almost 6 months and the parts number 68228991ad is under engineer review and they are not making the part . there are 1.2 million trucks that need parts ,a recall is on some vin numbers but not all thanks.
Antilock Brake System module has failed, causing the light on the dashboard, along with the traction control light, to stay on. This covers up any braking issues, as I am forced to drive with this light on; as Ram is not selling the ABS module, saying they are under "Engineering evaluation". The problem with my truck cannot be fixed at this time & I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle. Reported to Ram, but no action taken to recall.
Flooded cab resulting from cab leak from 3rd brake light has been fixed & mold remediation twice, while under warranty. Leak has begun again, along with the growth of dangerous mold that results under the back seats.
