AFTER HAVING THE APPROVED EMISSIONS MODIFICATION INSTALLED MY TRUCK BECAME DANGEROUSLY SLUGGISH FROM A DEAD STOP. AFTER PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL PULLING INTO TRAFFIC TRUCK IS MOVING APPROX. 4 MPH WHERE THERE IS A 3 TO 4 SECOND DELAY IN ACCELERATION LEAVING ME VULNERABLE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TRUCK WAS FINE BEFORE AEM. DEALER NOW SAYS THEY CAN NOT REVERSE AEM. TRUCK IS NOW A SERIOUS TRAFFIC HAZARD.
AFTER SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR EMISSIONS ISSUE TRUCK FAILS TO ACCELERATE IN A SAFE MANNER WHEN ENGINE IS COLD. WHEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PRESSED IT TAKES UP 5 SECONDS FOR ENGINE RPM TO INCREASE TO THE POINT THAT THE TURBO CHARGER WILL CUT IN. THIS CAUSE THE TRUCK TO ENTER AN INTERSECTION WITH OUT ENOUGH SPEED TO SAFELY COMPLETE THE TRANSITION THOUGH THE INTERSECTION IF TRAFFIC IS COMING. WHEN ENGIN IS HOT THIS DOES NOT OCCUR. I HAD 2 NEAR MISSES BEFORE I REALIZED WHAT WAS OCCURRING. I RETURNED TRUCK TO DEALER FOR SERVICE AND WAS INFORMED THIS WAS NORMAL AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE AND OTHER TRUCKS HAD THE SAME ISSUE. INFORMED THEM THIS PRESENTED A UNSAFE CONDITION.
VERY POOR ACCELERATION WHEN COLD OR WARM. SIGNIFICANT DROP IN POWER AND FUEL MILEAGE. ALL OF THESE THINGS HAPPENED AFTER THE V08 UPDATE
AFTER HAVING THE EMISSION RECALL COMPETED ON MY 2016 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL I AM EXPERIENCING MAJOR POWER LOSS IN CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS. THIS CONDITION INCLUDES REDUCED THROTTLE RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AFTER COLD STARTING. SINCE THIS RECALL THERE IS SIGNIFICANT LAG IN THE THROTTLE LEADING TO TRAFFIC HAVING TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE I'M NOT ACCELERATING. I CAN PUSH THE THROTTLE TO THE FLOOR AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE RPM INCREASE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS AFTER EVERY COLD START AND THERE IS A LARGER LAG IF THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON. THIS THROTTLE LAG ONLY STARTED OCCURRING AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED AND HAS OCCURRED REGULARLY SINCE.
ON JULY 5TH, 2019 I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-95 FROM BEAUFORT SC TO JACKSONVILLE, NC GOING 75MPH. I HAD BEEN USING MY CRUISE CONTROL FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND TRAFFIC WAS PRETTY BUSY BUT I WAS STILL ABLE TO MAINTAIN A SAFE DISTANCE AND CONTINUE USING MY CRUISE CONTROL. AS IT OFTEN DOES IN THE CAROLINAS, IT BEGAN TO LIGHT RAIN SO I ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN MY SPEED. AS I DEPRESSED THE BREAK, I LOST CONTROL OF MY TRUCK, POSSIBLY DUE TO THE BEGINNING OF WATER ACCUMULATION ON THE ROAD, BUT MY CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT COME OFF AND I COULD NOT STOP. I ENDED UP RUNNING OFF THE ROAD, SPINNING 3 TIMES AND FINALLY STOPPING BACKWARDS IN THE TREES SEPARATING 95 NORTH AND SOUTH. DUE TO MY VEHICLE BEING TOO FAR TO TOW, I HAD TO DRIVE IT 200 MILES BACK AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO GET FIXED WITH MY INSURANCE ADJUSTER, THEY PULLED MY BLACK BOX WHICH SHOWED THE CODES C0051-28, C006A-62 AND U0415-00. I WAS INFORMED MY VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 9 RECALLS SUCH AS 18V332000 SO I HAD TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE DODGE DEALER IN NOVEMBER OF 2018 TO HAVE ALL OF THE RECALLS FIXED. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC WHO FIXED MY TRUCK AFTER MY ACCIDENT, THAT THE CODES WERE SHOWING AN ISSUE WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL WHICH MADE SENSE, SEEING HOW I COULD NOT TAKE IT OFF OR USE MY BREAKS TO SLOW DOWN AND ENDED UP HITTING THE TREE LINE STILL GOING 75MPH AND COSTING OVER $13,600. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE MANUFACTURER KNEW THAT THE ISSUES ARE STILL OCCURRING.
I HAD THE AEM (APPROVED EMISSIONS MODIFICATION) DONE ON MY 2016 RAM 1500 3.0 ECODIESEL ON 07/02/2019. WHEN I PICKED UP THE TRUCK I ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY ISSUES WITH ANYONE THAT HAS HAD THIS PERFORMED. I WAS TOLD BY THE TECH HE HAS NOT AWARE OF ANY ISSUES WITH THIS BEING DONE AND THE ONLY THING HE HAS HEARD IS AN IMPROVEMENT OF MPG. WELL I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK FOR 2 DAYS NOW AND I'VE NOTICED A DECREASE OF ALMOST 2 MPG WHICH I KIND OF EXPECTED UNLIKE HIS CLAIM OF IMPROVED MPG. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT NOW WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP IT TAKES ALMOST 7 SECONDS FOR THROTTLE RESPONSE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IN MY OPINION! I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS TRUCK FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS NOW AND HAVE NEVER HAD SINGLE PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE TURBO DIESEL HAS A LITTLE BIT OF LAG TIME FOR THE TURBO TO SPOOL UP BUT NOW IT TAKES ALMOST 7 SECONDS TO GET RESPONSE OF THROTTLE!! I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT 3 TIMES NOW WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. THIS IN MY OPINION IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! LIKE I SAID BEFORE I UNDERSTAND THERE IS LAG IN A TURBO DIESEL BUT 7 SECONDS! WHEN YOU PUSH THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE DOESNT RESPOND THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN TO ME. I WISH I HAD NEVER HAD THIS PERFORMED NOW BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED WITH THIS VEHICLE IN EVERY ASPECT UNTIL NOW. I FEEL THAT OWNERS SHOULD BE AT LEAST GIVEN SOME TYPE OF HEADS UP TO THIS SITUATION BECAUSE BEFORE LONG THIS IS GOING TO START CAUSING PEOPLE TO WRECK. WHEN YOU DRIVE A VEHICLE YOU GET USED TO THE WAY IT DRIVES. THIS HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED HOW THIS TRUCK RESPONDS AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY. ITS LIKE A WHOLE DIFFERENT VEHICLE NOW. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS!
AEM REFLASH AS REQUIRED BY THE FCA EMISSIONS RECALL #V08 HAS CAUSED THE TRUCK TO ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY, CAUSING NUMEROUS NEAR MISSES WHEN CROSSING AND TURNING PAST ONCOMING TRAFFIC. DEALERSHIP REPORTS ALL RECALLED CUSTOMERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WOLFECHASE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (8170 US-64, BARTLETT, TN 38133, (901)-373-3030) TO BE REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE ECO DIESEL ENGINE EMISSION. THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND THE FUEL MILEAGE WAS REDUCED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,153.
AFTER A RECALL TO UPDATE EMISSIONS SOFTWARE, THE TRUCK EXPERIENCES UNPREDICTABLE AND INCONSISTENT THROTTLE RESPONSE. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE PER WEEK, WHEN THE ENGINE IS AT FULL OPERATING TEMP. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PRESSED, BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT ACCELERATE FOR 4 SECONDS. THIS RESULTS IN THE TRUCK CREEPING OUT INTO TRAFFIC BUT NOT ACCELERATING AS DESIRED. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS IN THIS TRUCK BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FCA DEALERSHIP. THEY SCANNED FOR TROUBLE CODES, BUT FOUND NOTHING. THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK INTO THE ISSUE, BUT I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK ABOUT THIS.
SINCE THE APPROVED FIRMWARE MODIFICATION PER MDL NO. 2777 (N.D. CAL.) THE VEHICLE HAS EXTREME DELAY IN ACCELERATION. MULTIPLE TIMES THIS LAG HAS SLOWED ME IN THE PATH OF MOVING TRAFFIC AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I DO NOT PULL INTO TRAFFIC UNSAFELY BUT THE LACK OF THROTTLE RESPONSE HAS CREATED AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. IT IS NOT PREDICTABLE AND ALMOST SEEMS TO CUT THROTTLE AT RANDOM TIMES.OFTEN ONCE THE VEHICLE DOES RESPOND AFTER THE DELAY IT CAUSES WHEEL SPIN ALSO CREATING A HAZARDOUS POTENTIAL IN ADVERSE WEATHER
ECODIESEL EMISSION FIX . WELL I LOVED MY TRUCK TILL THEY FIXED IT .NOW AT LOW SPEEDS IT DOESN'T ACCELERATE MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS. I TOOK IT BACK TO RAM AND THEY SAID THAT'S THE FIX AND IT WAS THE GOVERNMENTS FAULT. WELL I KNOW IT'S FCA FAULT AND I DON'T THINK THEY CAN FIX IT PROPERLY OR THEY WOULD OF DONE SO AT THE FACTORY.. SOMEONE WILL BE KILLED OR KILL SOMEONE . WHEN YOU HIT THE PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENS FOR 2 TO 3 SECONDS THAN TAKES OFF SOMEONE WILL GET HURT . TO THINK OUR GOVERNMENT AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AGREED TO THIS IS A DISGRACE. I'LL NEVER BUY A FCA PRODUCT AND TELL EVERYONE THE SAME
EMISSION RECALL(ECM REPROGRAM) VEHICLE NOW HAS A SEVERE UNPREDICTABLE LACK OF THROTTLE RESPONSE SINCE RECALL WAS PERFORMED, FCA NOR DEALER HAS ANY IDEA WHEN THIS WILL BE FIXED. WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AT HIGHER AMBIENT TEMPS, THE VEHICLE OFTEN FAILS TO RESPOND TO THE THROTTLE UNTIL ABOUT 3/4 THROTTLE. THEN IT SUDDENLY RESPONDS AS IF IT IS AT FULL THROTTLE. THIS WILL CAUSE SOME SERIOUS ACCIDENTS
AFTER GETTING THE ECODIESEL EMISSION RECALL MY TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE WHEN COLD. HAVE SEVERAL NEAR COLLISIONS AFTER PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND NOTHING HAPPENS, IT DOES NOT RESPOND TO PEDAL FOR 3 SECONDS. CONTACTED FCA AND THEY REFER ME TO DEALER, DEALER SAYS IT IS FCA SOFTWARE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S TURBO ENGINE LAGGED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY JERKED FORWARD. THE CONTACT DROVE TO WAXAHACHIE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2405 N, I-35E, WAXAHACHIE, TX 75167, 972-694-6216), BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
AFTER RECEIVING THE REQUIRED EMISSION UPDATE FOR THE ECO DIESEL, THE TRUCK NOW HAS SEVERE PERFORMANCE ISSUES. THERE IS A 5 TO 8 SECOND LAG IN ACCELERATION, THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS WHILE TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC OR ENTER TRAFFIC. I HAVE REPORTED THE ISSUE TO DEALERS WITH NO SOLUTION OR CONCERN.
I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW AND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH IT UNTIL THE EMISSION UPDATE. ONCE I HAD THE UPDATE DONE TO THE TRUCK ITS WAS A TOTAL DIFFERENT TRUCK. IT DOESN'T HAVE AS MUCH POWER AND IT HAS MAJOR TURBO LAG WHEN ACCELERATING ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH FCA AND PROBABLY WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FCA PRODUCT UNLESS THEY MAKE IT RIGHT WITH ALL OF THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES. LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE LOOKING AT FORD IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
I OWN A RAM 1500 ECODIESEL 2016 LARAMIE. I GOT THE AEM EMISSION RECALL AND THE LIKE OTHER PEOPLE I HAVE AN ACCELERATION PROBLEM AFTER THE RECALL. I HAVE BEEN TO DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT. AFTER RECEIVING THE EMISSIONS RECALL UPDATE V08 ON MY RAM ECODIESEL IT NOW HAS A LAG WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL THAT HAS NEARLY RESULTED IN ME BEING HIT BY OTHER DRIVERS BECAUSE THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THIS IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN AT A STOP AND MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN.
DANGEROUS AND INCONSISTENT ENGINE POWER. AFTER UPDATE OF ECU FOR EMISSIONS (V08) CONTROL RECALL THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFELY DRIVABLE. WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT OR AWAY ACCELERATION JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN, TRUCK FAILS TO MOVE AND IS SUBJECT TO BEING HIT. AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS POWER RETURNS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX THIS, 'THAT'S THE WAY IT IS NOW' IS WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD. FCA AGREED TO MAKE THIS EM EMISSIONS UPDATE WITH NO CHANGE IN PERFORMANCE, THIS HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE. IF NOT FIXED PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE KILLED IN AN ACCIDENTS. I HAVE SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS ALREADY.
AFTER GETTING THE EPA REQUIRED EMISSIONS RECALL COMPLETED (V08) THIS TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. THERE IS A LONG DELAY IN THROTTLE RESPONSE (3-5 SECONDS FROM THE TIME I HIT THE THROTTLE FROM A STOP UNTIL THE TIME THE TRUCK HAS ANY SORT OF RESPONSE) WHICH MAKES IT EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR CROSS TRAFFIC LANES. THERE IS ALSO VERY LITTLE THROTTLE RESPONSE WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE ONTO A FREEWAY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD A FEW NEAR MISSES IN THE 3 WEEKS AFTER I HAD THE UPDATE DONE. NONE OF THESE ISSUES EXISTED BEFORE THE V08 RECALL WAS PREFORMED.
AFTER THE FCA EMISSIONS RECALL, MY VEHICLE HAS A SUBSTANTIAL 'LAG' AFTER PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE LACKS ENGINE POWER, AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT IS A JAZZERS WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AS DESIGNED IF THIS IS TRULY THE DESIGN. DODGE NEEDS TO BE FORCED TO ADDRESS THE 'LAG' IN ACCELERATION AND LACK OF POWER BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR WORSE.
AFTER AEM EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEMS UPDATE THE TRUCK AT 57,920 HAS POOR ACCELERATION FROM A START. IT DOESN'T GET OUT OF ITS ON WAY. MILEAGE DROPPED 4 MPG. HAS POOR ACCELERATION UP HILLS. THIS UPDATE CLAIMED TO NOT ALTER THE WAY THE VEHICLE DRIVES AND THAT IS NOT THE CASE. THIS IS NOT THE TRUCK THAT I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT. I HAVE BEEN ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE OF THE POOR ACCELERATION FROM A STOP "TURBO LAG" THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
FILLED UP MY FUEL TANK AND AS YOU DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD YOUR FUEL GAGE CONTINUES TO GO UP AND DOWN. THEN YOUR LOW FUEL LIGHT GOES OFF. THEN YOU GET A FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CODE THAT COMES UP ON THE DASH. THESE WARNINGS BUZZERS CONTINUE TO GO OFF REGARDLESS IF THE TANK IS FULL.
AFTER HAVING THE AEM RECALL DONE TRUCK HAS LACK OF POWER. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP TRUCK DOES NOT TAKE OFF RIGHT AWAY. GETS A LITTLE BETTER WHEN WARMED UP BUT STILL VERY SLUGGISH.
AEM EMISSIONS RECALL V08/RAM DEALER COMPUTER REPROGRAMING COMPLETED 20 JUNE 2019. PCM FLASHING FROM P/N: 68280881AH TO TARGET P/N: 68280881A0 AND TCM FLASHING FROM P/N: 68282282AD TO TARGET P/N: 68282282AI. POST 2016 RAM ECODIESEL RECALL. MY POST AEM EMISSIONS RECALL/RAM DEALER COMPUTER REPROGRAMING HAS CREATED A SIGNIFICANTLY IMPAIRED VEHICLE WITH UNPREDICTABLE ACCELERATION LAG AND IMPAIRED ENGINE RESPONSE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, THE VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 44K MILES ON IT. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER THE FACTORY WARRANTY AND HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED IN ANY WAY FROM MANUFACTURER SPECS. THE VEHICLE BECAME IMPAIRED AFTER THE EPA/DOJ FORCED RECALL FOR EMISSIONS CONTROL TAMPERING. THIS UPDATE HAS PUT ME AND MY FAMILY IS SEVERAL SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. WHEN MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC THE TRUCK HAS SIGNIFICANT/SEVER POWER OR RESPONSIVENESS. PULLING OUT INTO/ON CROSS STREET INTERSECTIONS OR FROM BUSINESSES ENTRY/DRIVEWAYS INTO TRAFFIC THE TRUCK HAS LITTLE TO NO POWER OR GAS PEDAL RESPONSIVENESS FOR APPROXIMATELY 2-4 SECONDS UPON PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, THEN WILL SUDDENLY ACCELERATE UNEXPECTEDLY AND VERY RAPIDLY, TO THE POINT OF SPINNING THE TIRES. THIS SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER OR ACCELERATION LAG SITUATION HAPPENS SPORADICALLY AT INDISCRIMINATE TIMES, WITH NO PREDICTABLE PATTERN TO IT. IT SEEMS TO BE MORE PREVALENT UPON INITIAL START UP ENGINE TEMPERATURES, BUT ALSO CONTINUES AT SOMEWHAT LESS FREQUENT INTERVALS AFTER REACHING NORMAL OPERATING TEMPS. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD WHEN IN A PARKING LOT WITH PEDESTRIANS OR TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC. PLEASE DO SOMETHING QUICKLY ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AS FCA IS CLAIMING THIS IS NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATIONS AND THAT THERE IS NO ISSUE. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING IS FAILING. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AS WELL AS WHILE IT IS IN MOTION. OCCURS AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, AS SOON AS THE STEERING WHEEL IS MOVED AN ERROR IS DISPLAYS READING "SERVICE POWER STEERING".
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS A NATIONWIDE RECALL ON THE ECODIESEL ENGINE DUE TO A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT. THE REPAIR WAS MADE AND NOW THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL THE ENGINE WARMS UP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS YOU PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK DOES NOT GO. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT AS TRUCK STALLS AND THEN ACCELERATES A FULL 4-5 SECONDS LATER. I WILL NOT LET ANYONE ELSE DRIVE MY TRUCK NOW DUE TO THIS DANGER. IN CHECKING WITH OTHER OWNERS EVERYONE WHO HAS THE "UPDATE" DONE PER THE LAWSUIT IS HAVING THE SAME DANGEROUS PROBLEM. TO BE SPECIFIC, WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, YOU HIT THE ACCELERATOR, THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE FOR 4-5 SECONDS. THIS CAUSES YOU TO ROLL SLOWLY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

AFTER THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THEN LUNGED FORWARD. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AT LEAST TWELVE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED APPROXIMATELY SIX TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. SINCE THE FCA ECM RE-FLASH, MY TRUCK TURBO LAG IS NOW DEADLY, WHEN THE ENGINE GETS PAST THE TURBO LAG IT WILL SMOKE THE TIRES, BUT DON'T BACK OFF OR YOU START ALL OVER AGAIN WITH TURBO LAG. I OWN A 2016 DODGE RAM ECO DIESEL THAT WAS FORCED TO HAVE THE EPA UPDATE COMPLETED AS PART OF THE CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT. SINCE THE UPDATE WAS COMPLETED I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH INCONSISTENT POWER AND ACCELERATION. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND HAS ALMOST RESULTED IN COLLISIONS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THIS ISSUE IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING LEFT HAND TURNS ACROSS TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK DECIDES TO DELAY 2-3 SECONDS IN THE ACCELERATION PROCESS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AS WELL AS THE MANUFACTURER AND HAVE BEEN MET WITH STONE WALKING BUG BOTH OF THEM. I HAVE COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY REFUSE TO EVEN TAKE THE TRUCK IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS SITTING THE LACK OF ENGINE TROUBLE CODES. AFTER AN EMISSIONS UPDATE WAS MADE TO MY VEHICLE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION ON JUNE 4, 2019, THE THROTTLE IS UNRESPONSIVE, THE DIESEL EXHAUST REGENERTION SYSTEM NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AND MY FUE ECONOMY HAS DROPPED OVER 10 MPG. FCA ECODIESEL EMISSIONS RECALL - AEM SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED ON MY 2016 RAM ECODIESEL (JUNE 3, 2019) BY SERVICING DEALER. SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO IMPACT VEHICLE PERFORMANCE, DRIVABILITY, FUEL ECONOMY, ETC. THIS IS NOT THE CASE AS ALL INDICATED CHARACTERISTICS HAVE BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED BY THIS UPDATE. MOST CONCERNING IS THE AEM RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE HAS INDUCED A SIGNIFICANT THROTTLE RESPONSE DELAY WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP OR AT LOW SPEEDS UNTIL THE ENGINE REACHES FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. IN SOME INSTANCES THROTTLE RESPONSE DELAY IS AS LONG AS 3 OR 4 SECONDS BEFORE THE ENGINE WILL RESPOND AND ACCELERATE. THIS CREATES AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHEN TRYING TO TURN ONTO A BUSY ROAD OR ACCELERATE IN NORMAL OR HEAVY TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE TURNING ONTO A BUSY ROAD UNTIL THE ENGINE IS AT FULL TEMPERATURE FOR FEAR OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. ONCE THE ENGINE DROPS BELOW A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE THE ACCELERATION DELAY COMES BACK. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH FCA CHRYSLER ASAP BEFORE PEOPLE GET HURT OR KILLED.

AFTER HAVING THE EMISSION RECALL COMPETED ON MY 2016 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL I AM EXPERIENCING MAJOR POWER LOSS IN CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS. THIS CONDITION INCLUDES REDUCED THROTTLE RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AFTER COLD STARTING. I WILL START MY TRUCK AND DRIVE 2 BLOCK TO A 50 MPH HIGHWAY. AFTER STOPPING AT THE STOP SIGN I WILL ACCELERATE ACROSS THE LANES OF THE HIGHWAY. SINCE THIS RECALL THERE IS SIGNIFICANT LAG IN THE THROTTLE LEADING TO TRAFFIC HAVING TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE I'M NOT ACCELERATING. I CAN PUSH THE THROTTLE TO THE FLOOR AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE RPM INCREASE. I'M BASICALLY IDLING FORWARD INTO 50 MPH TRAFFIC WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND AFTER CONSULTING WITH FCA THEY HAVE COME BACK AND TOLD ME THIS IS THE NEW NORMAL FOR MY TRUCK. THE SECOND DEALER HAS EVEN STATED THEY ARE ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE AND AFTER SUBMITTING THEIR FINDINGS TO FCA THEY WERE TOLD TO INFORM ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL. THIS LIMITED THROTTLE RESPONSE IS ESPECIALLY CONCERNING GIVEN THE SPEED OF THE ROAD I LIVE OFF OF AND THE FACT THAT FCA CONSIDERS THIS NORMAL. THE SERVICE MANAGER PARTICIPATED IN A RIDE ALONG AND THE FAILURE WAS FINALLY REPLICATED; HOWEVER, THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE SHOWED NO CODES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A LIFETIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTY, BUT THE EMISSION REPAIR HAD TO BE PERFORMED IN ORDER TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD HAVE OPTED OUT OF THE EMISSION REPAIR, WHICH HE FELT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE BECAUSE NHTSA ISSUED A NATIONWIDE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
I WAS ACCELERATING TO ENTER HIGHWAY I35 IN SAN ANTONIO WHEN MY DASHBOARD LIT UP WITH MULTIPLE FLASHING LIGHTS. CHECK ENGINE, LOW FUEL INDICATOR, FUEL SENSOR FAILURE ERROR CODE, ALONG WITH THE RINGING ALARM THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL. I AM NOW IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF I35 TRAVELING 65 MPH AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT SHOULD I RISK CUTTING BACK ACROSS THE TRAFFIC I JUST MERGED WITH TO EXIT BEFORE I GET STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE LANE, OR RISK RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AND EXIT THE NEXT EXIT MORE SAFELY. I CHOSE TO CUT OFF THE TRAFFIC SO THAT I DIDN'T RISK GETTING STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS WAS DANGEROUS, AND I AM GLAD I DIDN'T HAVE MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK WITH ME. THESE FAULTY FUEL SENSORS THAT ARE ON THE FUEL PUMPS NEED REDESIGNED. MOPAR SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE BEFORE REAL TRAGEDY HAPPENS.
RECEIVED A RECALL TO INSTALL AEM COMPUTER UPDATE. SINCE THE UPDATE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ACCELERATION DELAYS FROM A STOP THERE IS A 3-5 SEC DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TRYING TO MERGE I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD A # OF TIMES TO AVOID A REAR END ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION MY GAS MILEAGE HAS ALSO BEEN DECREASED FROM AN AVERAGE OF 18-20 MPG DOWN TO 14-16 MPG. THIS PROBLEM AFTER THE AEM UPDATE MUST BE CORRECT QUICKLY AS DRIVING THE VEHICLE HAS BECOME DANGEROUS.
RECEIVED THE V08 RECALL UPDATE. WAS TOLD THIS UPDATE WOULD NOT AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE, DRIVABILITY, EFFICIENCY NOR SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE!! THE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE IS PLAGUED WITH DANGEROUS DELAYS IN ACCELERATION, POOR SHIFTING TO THE POINT OF BEING A SIGNIFICANT LIFE-SAFETY ISSUE!! FROM A STOPPED POSITION, STEPPING ON THE GAS WILL PRODUCE A 2-3 SECOND DELAY. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC - SEVERE RISK OF BEING BROAD-SIDED OR REAR-ENDED! GEAR SHIFTS ARE OUT OF SYNC AND DO NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT PERFORMANCE TO AVOID ACCIDENTS FROM A STOPPED (I.E. INTERSECTION) OR MOVING (I.E. PASSING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS) MOTION. TOO MANY CLOSE-CALLS WITH POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS/FATAL ACCIDENTS DUE TO SIGNIFICANTLY MODIFIED AND HINDERED RECALL UPDATE!! MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF A RECENT ECODIESEL SETTLEMENT THAT REQUIRED A RECALL AND RE-FLASH OF THE VEHICLES ECM. FCA STATED THAT THE RECALL RE-FLASH WOULD NOT AFFECT THE VEHICLES PERFORMANCE. THAT IS NOT THE CASH. MY VEHICLE NOW HAS A SEVERE THROTTLE HESITATION WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. PULLING INTO OR MERGING INTO EXISTING TRAFFIC HAS BECOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
