2016 RAM ECODIESEL HAS HAD THE REQUIRED EPA COMPLIANCE UPDATE TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ECMS. POST UPDATE, THROTTLE RESPONSE FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ENGINE IS NOT FULLY UP TO TEMPERATURE IS VERY SLUGGISH...TAKES UP TO A COUPLE SECONDS TO START ACCELERATING. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO NEARLY BE HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHILE WAITING FOR THE VEHICLE TO START ACCELERATING. ONCE THE ENGINE WARMS UP AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE RESPONSE TO INPUT ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RETURNS TO NORMAL.
THE TRUCK IS STATIONARY AND IS TURNED OFF AND WHEN I PUSH THE PUSH TO START BUTTON THE TRUCK BEGINS TO TURN ON AND CUTS OFF BEFORE IT FULLY BEGINS TO RUN. TURNS OFF MID IGNITION AND DIES. HAVE TO PUSH TO START MORE THAN ONCE.
AFTER HAVING THE VO8 AEM DONE TO MY TRUCK, THE PERFORMANCE HAS DROPPED. THE LACK OF ACCELERATION WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC IS SCARY AT TIMES. IF YOU EVEN SO MUCH AS ROLL A STOP THE TRUCK SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN 3RD GEAR AND VERY SLOW TO ACCELERATE. FUEL CONSUMPTION IS GREATER CAUSING A DROP IN MPG BOTH WITH NORMAL DRIVING AND GETS WORSE THAN BEFORE THE UPDATE WHILE TOWING.
AFTER HAVING THE REQUIRED AEM RECALL FLASHED TO MY ECODIESEL ECU THE TRUCK HAS SERIOUS PERFORMANCE ISSUES THAT DID NOT EXIST BEFORE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT A COUPLE OF TIMES BECAUSE OF HORRIBLE LAG. I HAVE HAD 2 ECODIESEL TRUCKS, A 2014 AND THIS 2016 AND THIS KIND OF SCARY LACK OF POWER WAS NEVER AN ISSUE BEFORE THE EPA SETTLEMENT UPDATE. THE DRIVEABILITY AND SAFETY HAVE BEEN DRAMATICALLY REDUCED.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING WITH LESS THAN 2000 MILES ON ODOMETER. REPORTED THIS TO NHTSA AT THAT TIME. DEALER COULD NOT GET PROBLEM TO REPEAT. POWER STEERING WENT OUT THIS WEEK AT 53,000 MILES AND DEALER HAVING TROUBLE DIAGNOSING SOURCE OF PROBLEM. AFRAID TO DRIVE VEHICLE
AFTER RECEIVING THE V08 ECODIESEL EMISSIONS UPDATE, THE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE HAS SUFFERED SIGNIFICANTLY! THE ACCELERATION DELAY/LAG IS TRULY A LIFE-SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL CAUSE A LIFE-THREATENING ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION TO THE SIGNIFICANT DELAYS IN ACCELERATION (ESPECIALLY WHEN "COLD" AND WHEN MERGING ONTO TRAFFIC), THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HAVE BEEN ALTERED TO BE UNRESPONSIVE AND SIGNIFICANTLY HINDER PERFORMANCE. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUSLY UNSAFE WITH THE CURRENT RECALL UPDATE!!
TRUCK WAS RUNNING FINE WITH NO ISSUES UNTIL THE EMISSIONS V08 RECALL. TRUCK NOW HAS A SIGNIFICANT LAG WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN TURNING (PULLING OUT FROM A STOPPED POSITION). IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED US TO GET IN TO TWO DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS DUE TO LACK OF ACCELERATION. MY WHOLE FAMILY WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. I REFUSE TO LET MY CHILDREN RIDE AS PASSENGERS NOW BECAUSE IT IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK. MY TRUCK WAS FINE BEFORE THE RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE (V08) AND NOW IT'S A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD.
RAM ECODIESEL RECALL. MY POST AEM EMISSIONS FLASH HAS CREATED A SIGNIFICANTLY IMPAIRED VEHICLE WITH UNPREDICATABLE ACCCELLERATION AND ENGINE RESPONSE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND THE VEHICLE BECAME IMPARIED AFTER THE EPA/DOJ FORCED RECALL FOR EMMISSIONS CONTROL TAMPERING. THIS UPDATE HAS PUT MY FAMILY IS SEVERAL SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC THE TRUCK HAS NO POWER OR RESPONSIVENESS. PULLING OUT OF SIDE STREETS ACROSS TRAFFIC THE TRUCK HAS NO POWER OR RESPONSIVENESS. THE TRUCKS MPG HAS GONE DOWN NEARLY 15% AND DEF CONSUPTION HAS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY. PLEASE DO SOMETHING AS FCA IS CLAIMING THERE IS NO ISSUE. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE THROTTLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. AFTER THE CONTACT APPLIED FULL PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SLOWLY ACCELERATED AND THE TURBO ENGINE RESPONDED, WHICH THEN CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE RAPIDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LITHIA DODGE (4025 10TH AVE GREAT FALLS, MT 59405, 406-205-3430) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TURBO ENGINE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I TOOK MY ECODIESEL TRUCK TO MY LOCAL FCA DEALERSHIP AND THEY INSTALLED THE APPROVED EMISSION MODIFICATION (AEM). AFTER I RECEIVED MY TRUCK BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THERE WAS A VERY NOTICEABLE INCREASED THROTTLE RESPONSE LAG FROM A STOP. AFTER APPLYING WIDE OPEN THROTTLE (WOT), THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESPOND FOR 3-4 SECONDS. THE AEM SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT THE "PERFORMANCE" OF THE TRUCK WILL NOT BE IMPACTED; WHICH IS NOT WHAT I PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED. THE THROTTLE RESPONSE LAG POST-AEM INSTALL ALMOST GOT ME INTO TWO ACCIDENTS WHILE TRYING TO TAKE A RIGHT TURN ONTO A HIGHWAY. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED BY OTHER ECODIESEL OWNERS ON INTERNET FORUMS AND VIA YOUTUBE VIDEOS DEMONSTRATING THIS SAFETY ISSUE. FCA FAILED TO DISCLOSE THIS THROTTLE RESPONSE ISSUE; AS A RESULT THEY HAVE CREATED A SAFETY CONCERN FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS, TO INCLUDE MYSELF, POST-AEM INSTALL. I PULLED OUT THE DEALERSHIP LOT EXPECTING A CERTAIN LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE FROM THE TRUCK I KNOW EXTREMELY WELL, BUT WAS QUICKLY SURPRISED TO FIND MYSELF IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION DUE TO THE THROTTLE LAG. AS A RESULT, I HAVE CHANGED MY DAILY DRIVING HABITS TO ACCOUNT FOR THIS SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN LOW END PERFORMANCE POST-AEM INSTALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOST A FEW MILES PER GALLON AND HESITATED BEFORE ACCELERATING. THERE WERE NO LEAKS PRESENT OR WARNINGS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES RECURRED AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ELK GROVE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (916-513-4234, LOCATED AT 8575 LAGUNA GROVE DR, ELK GROVE, CA 95757) WHERE THE TECHNICIANS TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED AN INSTALLATION OF A DATA COLLECTION SOFTWARE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS NOT INSTRUCTED ON HOW THE DATA COLLECTOR WORKED AND DECLINED THE INSTALLATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000. *TR*JB
POWER STEERING GOES IN AND OUT.
WHEN THE VEHICLE'S HVAC IS ACTIVATED A VERY STRONG SMELL OF EXHAUST FUMES PERMEATES THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE. A HAZE FROM THE EXHAUST ALSO ENTERS INTO THE CAB. BOTH OF THESE OCCURS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED OR MOVING. THIS REQUIRES THAT THE HVAC NOT BE OPERATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT TURNED THEIR VEHICLE ON AND ATTEMPTED TO REVERSE FROM THEIR PARKING SPACE, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO REVERSE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A TRAILER ATTACHED TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO REVERSE. THE "R' FOR REVERSE ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT CALLED ATLANTIC DODGE (555 SUNRISE HWY, WEST ISLIP, NY 11795 (631) 422-01230) WHERE THE MECHANICS STATED THAT THEY WHERE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE FAILURE EXPEREINCED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,031.
"ECO DIESEL EMISSIONS UPDATE," UPON HAVING MY TRUCK ECM FLASHED WITH THE COURT SETTLEMENT EMISSION UPDATE, I HAVE OBSERVED SEVERE POWER LOSS. TO THE POINT OF 4-5 SECONDS OF DELAY WHEN INITIALLY PULLING OUT IN TO TRAFFIC ON ANY ROAD OR HIGHWAY. VERY SLUGGISH AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT . THIS STARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE UPDATE . MY TRUCK DROVE FINE BEFORE THE UPDATE.
EPA MANDATED AEM WAS PERFORMED IN MAY OF 2019. SINCE THAT TIME MY TRUCK HAS HAD DANGEROUSLY SLOW THROTTLE RESPONSE. YOU CAN COUNT TO 5 AFTER PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR BEFORE THE TRUCK STARTS MOVING AT AN ACCEPTABLE SPEED FOR PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. WHEN THE TRUCK FINALLY RESPONDS IT SNAPS MY NECK BACK.
AFTER DIESEL EMISSION MODIFICATION TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY ROUGH AND JUMPS VEHICLE WHEN COLD. IT SENDS WHEELS INTO SPINOUT WHEN ENTERING ROADS WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS. FUEL ECONOMY ALSO FELL FROM AVERAGE OF 23-24MPG TO BELOW 21MPG. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP 3 TIMES ALREADY. THE SHOP WILL "RESET" THE COMPUTER, BUT THE ISSUE COMES BACK WITHIN A FEW DAYS. NEED A PERMANENT FIX.
AROUND 2-3 THOUSAND RPM MY 2016 DODGE RAM 1500 TRADESMAN WITH 23,000 MILES GET THIS HORRIBLE VIBRATION THAT SEEMS TO ORIGINATE FROM THE TRANSMISSION AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VIBRATION FEELS LIKE IT COULD BE THE DRIVESHAFT OR TRANSMISSION. DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST I'M GOING, AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE GAS AND THE TRUCK BEGINS TO DOWNSHIFT I START FEELING THE VIBRATION ONCE I PRESS THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT'S FEELS LIKE THE WHOLE BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK IS VIBRATING BROUGHT THE GAS PEDAL AS IF I'M RIDING ON A RUMBLE STRIP. I LITERALLY HAVE TO ALMOST FLOOR IT FOR THE VIBRATION TO GO AWAY.
I PURCHASED A 2016 RAM 1500 IN MAY 2019 WITH APPROXIMATELY 25K MILES ON IT. A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASING I NOTICED A VIBRATION COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK THAT'S CAUSES THE WHOLE BED TO SHAKE AROUND 65+ MPH. TOOK THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL SHOP AND THE MECHANIC POINTED OUT TO ME THE DRIVESHAFT WAS WOBBLING A LITTLE WHEN HE HAD THE TRUCK ON THE LIFT. TOOK THE TRUCK TO TWO DIFFERENT DODGE DEALERS ABOUT THE ISSUE, THE FIRST DEALER TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SO I WENT ON A TEST DRIVE WITH THEM AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE NOTICED THE VIBRATION I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT. LONG STORY SHORT THEY TOLD ME MY TIRES(ONLY 25,000 MILES) WERE BAD AND I SHOULD REPLACE THEM, GET AN ALIGNMENT AND THE PROBLEM WOULD BE SOLVED. SO I DID JUST THAT AND THE VIBRATION OF THE WHOLE BED WAS STILL THERE, THEY REBALANCED THE TIRES AND THE VIBRATION WAS STILL PRESENT. AFTER GOING TO THIS DEALER FOR THE THIRD TIME THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BECAUSE THEY CHECKED EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE DRIVESHAFT AND NOTHING WAS WRONG AT ALL. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER I GO TO ANOTHER DODGE DEALER ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, AND IT'S THE SAME RESPONSE "WE CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM". I TEST DRIVE WITH THE SHOP MANAGER AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HE NOTICES THE VIBRATION AND TELLS ME TO LEAVE THE TRUCK WITH HIM A COUPLE DAYS WHILE HE TROUBLESHOOTS IT. TWO DAYS LATER HE CALLS AND TELLS ME THAT ONE OF MY BACK RIMS IS BENT AND THAT'S WHAT'S CAUSING THE VIBRATION. I REPLACE THE RIM, GET ALL FOUR TIRES BALANCED AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME AND THE VIBRATION IS STILL THERE.
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILURE, CAUSES FUEL GAUGE TO READ ZERO AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. FIRST GAUGE WILL READ INCORRECTLY THEN FALL TO JUST READING ZERO, HAPPENS IN ALL CONDITIONS OF DRIVING AND VEHICLE RUNNING. ITS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THE RAM 1500. REQUIRES FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY TO BE REPLACED AS THE SENSOR IS BUILT INTO THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.
ECO DIESEL RECALL ON EMISSIONS, AND NOW HAVE SAFETY ACCELERATION OR "LACK OF" FROM A STOP, FUEL ECONOMY WENT WAY DOWN AND USE OF ALOT DEF, RAM IS AWARE OF IT AND HAVE NOT FIX CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR PAST 4 MONTHS DEALERS RESET AND STILL COMES BACK ON, DEALERS CAN'T FIX AND DON'T KNOW HOW THEY STATED WAIT FOR DODGE FCA I WAS DEALING WITH FELICIA US CUSTOMER CARE CASE NUMBER [XXX] FCA SHE HAD TO CANCEL CASE INSTRUCTED BY HER BOSSES BECAUSE THEIR IS NO FIX.*DT CONSUMER STATED FAILED SOFTWARE WAS INSTALLED WHICH MADE IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. SOMETIME WHEN SWITCH TRANSMISSION CONTROL TO REVERSE AND DRIVE AND PARK IT SEEMS TO GO INTO NEUTRAL AND WILL ROLL BACK OR FORWARD I HAVE TO TURN THE KNOB BACK AND FORTH A FEW TIME THEN SEEMS TO GO INTO PLACE NOT SURE IF THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT RECALL FOR ROLLAWAY OR NOT NHTSA17V821000. I'VE BEEN SETTING MY ENRAGE EVER TIME I PARK DUE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT. AND I AM STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENS.USUALLY PARKING OR WHEN I TRY TO LEAVE FROM BEING PARKED OR ALSO WHEN TRYING TO TO FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE. OTHER THAN THAT TRUCK SEEMS TO RUN AND DRIVE PROPERLY.
FULL TANK OF GAS. 38,000 MILES. FUEL SENSOR FAILURE WARNING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. LOW FUEL LIGHT ON. FUEL GAUGE READS EMPTY.
HARD SHIFTS FROM GEAR 1 TO GEAR 2 AND DELAYED SHIFTING FROM FROM 3 TO 2 AND 2 TO 1. WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP THE CAR WILL JOLT FORWARD AND AT TIMES YOU FEEL AS THOUGH YOU WERE HIT FROM BEHIND OR THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU DUE TO THE AGGRESSIVE JOLT OF THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFT.
WHEN I AM APPROACHING A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, I APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. AS THE VEHICLE IS COMING TO A STOP, IT SOMETIMES LUNGES FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY AS IF I HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO SEPARATE DEALERSHIPS FOR THIS HAZARDOUS CONDITION. BOTH TIMES THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM EXISTS. BOTH TIMES THEY UPDATED THE COMPUTER AND CLAIMED IT WAS FIXED. BOTH TIMES THEY WERE WRONG. THE VEHICLE STILL LUNGES FORWARD OCCASIONALLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP. I SPOKE TO THE COMPANY'S CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM CHECK IT A THIRD TIME. I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE DEALERSHIP AFTER TWICE TAKING IT IN WITH NO RESOLUTION. IT ALSO COSTS ME TIME AND MONEY TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP JUST TO HAVE THEM TELL ME THE PROBLEM IS FIXED WHEN IT IS NOT. MY WARRANTY WILL EXPIRE SOON, AND I BELIEVE THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO RUN OUT THE CLOCK. IN ADDITION TO THE DANGER THAT THIS PLACES MY FAMILY IN, IT WILL ALSO CAUSE EXPENSIVE PARTS TO NEED REPLACEMENT PREMATURELY. I JUST WANT A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE THAT IS MADE BY A COMPANY THAT WILL HONOR ITS WARRANTY.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF GARAGE AND WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT SLOWING THE VEHICLE. PUMPED THE BRAKES A SECOND TIME AND THE PEDAL AGAIN WENT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT SLOWING THE VEHICLE. PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL A THIRD TIME AND THE PEDAL DID NOT GO TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES SLOWED THE VEHICLE ENOUGH SO THAT IT COULD BE PUT IN PARK. UPON BRAKE INSPECTION, THE FRICTION MATERIAL SEPARATED FROM THE BACKING PLATE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR INNER BRAKE PAD AND FELL OFF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAUSED THE BRAKES TO BE INOPERABLE FOR THE FIRST TWO APPLICATIONS OF THE BRAKE PEDAL AS THE BRAKE SYSTEM FLUID AND CALIPERS HAD TO MAKE UP THE MISSING SPACE OF THE MISSING FRICTION MATERIAL. MY BRAKE PADS HAD OVER 60% OF THEIR MATERIAL REMAINING SO IT IS NOT A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT CAUSED PREMATURE FAILURE. IF I WERE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND THIS FAILURE OCCURRED, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD ADEQUATE BRAKES AND WOULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. OTHERS COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR KILLED AS WELL.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED AND PUT IN DRIVE, THE SCREEN DISPLAYS A NOTE SAYING VEHICLE NOT IN PARK! AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS I PUT IT BACK IN PARK, TURN OFF THE VEHICLE , WAIT A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND RETRY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH DOWN A HILL, ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS BEGAN TO BLINK AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE DRIVING HOME. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,800.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING KNOB PERIODICALLY WILL NOT ALLOW VEHICLE TO OBTAIN A GEAR AND MOVING THE VEHICLE IS IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO ENGAGE A FORWARD OR REVERSE GEAR IS SUCCESSFUL. THIS HAS OCCURRED A NUMBER OF TIME AND THE LAST TIME I WAS MAKING A U TURN ON A NARROW DIRT ROAD WHEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD I COULD NOT OBTAIN ANY GEAR. ANOTHER VEHICLE APPROACHED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE A COLLISION OCCURRED. NOTE. THIS PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL A RECALL 'AUTO PARK FUNCTIONALITY'WAS COMPLETED ON 11/29/18
THESE TRUCKS HAVE AN AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM THAT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM. THERE ARE MULTIPLE VERIFIED CASES ON BOTH THE RAM AND REBEL FORUMS. THIS AIR SUSPENSION FAILS AND YOU HAVE NO SUSPENSION. THE TRUCK BECOMES A "HANDFUL" TO DRIVE. AFTER THE FIRST MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH SCREEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY RESET THE ERROR CODE AND SENT US ON OUR WAY. JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER THE MESSAGE REAPPEARED. THIS TIME I REGISTERED A COMPLAINT WITH FCA AND THEY ASSIGNED A CASE MANAGER. THE TRUCK WENT BACK IN TODAY AND THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THEY AIR COMPRESSOR IS DEFECTIVE. THEY DON'T HAVE ONE AS THEY ARE ON "BACKORDER" AND DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE ONE, BUT THAT WE COULD TAKE THE TRUCK. I REFUSE TO LET MY WIFE DRIVE THIS TRUCK FOR FEAR OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN WHEN IT FAILS. THIS TRUCK HAS 16,568 MILES ON IT AND IT WILL BE THREE YEARS OLD MAY 16, 2019. THE CASE # FROM FCA IS 58422515. I REALLY FEEL THAT THIS SERIOUS ISSUE NEEDS YOUR FULL INVESTIGATION.

TRANSMISSION HAS STUCK IN EITHER 3RD OR 5TH GEAR AND WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT OR UPSHIFT - SECOND TIME THE TRANSMISSION HAS DONE THIS. HAVE A VIDEO PROVING SHIFTING FAULTS. IN BOTH INSTANCES, THE VEHICLE WAS EITHER IDLING OR IN MOTION FOR THE ENGINE FAILURES AND WAS IN MOTION IN BOTH INSTANCES WHEN WITH THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. SEVERAL DEALER RECALLS HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE VEHICLE THAT DID NOT INVOLVE EITHER OF THE ABOVE. WINDOW CLIPS HAVE BEEN REPLACED FOR DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THEY EITHER BREAK OR COME OFF AND HAVE TO BE REPAIRED WITH NEW CLIPS EACH TIME. IF THEY ARE NOT REPLACED, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE WINDOW WILL CRASH INSIDE THE DOOR IF ATTEMPT IS MADE TO ROLL DOWN OR ROLL UP THE POWER WINDOW. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE DEALERSHIP SHOP FOR ENGINE REPLACEMENT; DOCUMENTATION IS NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR THIS INSTANCE BUT CAN BE PROVIDED WHEN IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IS NOT FUNCTIONING, DIFFICULT TO STEER VEHICLE NEARLY RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN FROM AIR FORCE BASE TO HOTEL.
WHILE DRIVING TRUCK THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE. BROUGHT IT TO SHOP AND THEY SAID THE LIFTER SLIPPED OUT OF PLASTIC TRAY IT WAS IN AND MESSED OF THE CAMSHAFT. WHO USES PLASTIC IN A HEMI ENGINE THAT GETS SO HOT. IT WAS SCARY CUZ THE TRUCK WAS MISSING AND I WAS AFRAID IT WOULD STOP WHILE I WAS ON FREEWAY IN HOUSTON TEXAS. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE. THE 2013-2015 WERE RECALLED FOR THIS AND APPARENTLY IT ISN'T ANY BETTER WITH THE 2016. PLEASE CHECK INTO IT.
LIFTER STARTED KNOCKING ON HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH. THERE ARE 3 TRUCKS IN THE SHOP AT THE SESAME TIME WITH SAME PROBLEM. 2013-2015 THEY RECALLED THE TRUCKS. AND NOW IT'S WITH THE 2016 AND NEWER. WHEN GOING AT LOW SPEED IT RIDES SMOOTH
TRUCK HAS 25,200 MILES ON IT AND HAS FUEL SENSOR FAILURE ALARM. AFTER READING SOME INFORMATION WITH OTHER OWNERS, THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR RAM PICKUP. EVIDENTLY THIS HAPPENS ANYWHERE FROM 5,000 MILES AND UP. IT IS A $1000 REPAIR WHEN NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM COVERED AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INDICATED THAT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
VEHICLE WAS RUNNING. SERIOUS OIL LEAK FORMED BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE ENGINE BLOCK AND THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER (THIS PART ALSO HOUSES TWO SENSORS AND AN OIL COOLER). THIS LEAK IS SO SEVERE OIL POOLS ON TOP OF THE BLOCK AND RUNS DOWN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE DIRECTLY ONTO TRANSMISSION BELL HOUSING AND EXHAUST PIPING. HOT PIPING CAUSES OIL TO BURN AND CREATES RISK OF FIRE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH 2014 AND NEWER CHRYSLER VEHICLES THAT ARE EQUIPPED WITH THE 3.6 LITER 'PENTASTAR' V6. CHRYSLER HAS SO FAR REFUSED TO RECALL THE PARTS, DESIGN A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT PART, OR FIX THE ISSUE OUTSIDE OF THE BASIC POWER TRAIN WARRANTY.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS HAVE SHEARED AND SNAPPED. WITH LESS THAN 50K MILES ON THE TRUCK THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS HAVE SHEARED. THIS RESULTS IN A LEAK OF EXHAUST GASES INTO THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK. MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE AND AT RISK OF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING. THE RAM DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM 3/6/2019

THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, LITERALLY ON THE DRIVE HOME ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER SIGNING THE PAPERWORK, THE FUEL GAUGE SUDDENLY DROPPED TO EMPTY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE MESSAGE CENTER INDICATED A "FUEL SENSOR FAIL".. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AS SOON AS I STOPPED, THE GAUGE ROSE BACK TO 3/4 TANK AND THE ISSUE DIDN'T PRESENT ITSELF AGAIN FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. NOW, EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK, THE FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY RIGHT ABOUT THE TIME IT SHOULD READ 3/4 TANK AND STARTS WORKING AGAIN AT ABOUT 1/4 TANK. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS SPREAD OUT OVER SO MANY MODEL YEARS, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS HASN'T GENERATED A RECALL. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED WITH JUST OVER 36,000 MILES ON IT. I NOW HAVE JUST UNDER 41,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND HAVE NO IDEA JUST HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE VEHICLE.
