TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V486000 (STRUCTURE, LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) THE DEALER (CARBONE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM, 5017 COMMERCIAL DR, YORKVILLE, NY 13495, 1-315-736-3371) SCHEDULED THE REPAIR TWO WEEKS AGO. WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED FOR THE APPOINTMENT, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD FOLLOW-UP WHEN THE PART WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE CONTACT SENT AN ONLINE INQUIRY TO THE MANUFACTURER THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE, BUT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHILE TURNING FROM A STOP OR SLOW RATE OF SPEED LOSS OF POWER STEERING, POWER STEERING WARNING COMES ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WHILE THIS PROBLEM IS PRESENT, THIS CAUSE A HARD STEERING ISSUE AND AT A VERY SUDDEN RATE WHEN MAKING A TURN AND COULD LEAD TO A CRASH
BACK IN THE END OF AUGUST/BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER 2016 I TOOK MY 2016 RAM 1500 IN FOR SHIFTING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER 2 WEEKS OF WAITING THEY REPLACED THE VALVE ASSEMBLY PART ON THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER 3 DAYS I NOTICED I COULD NOT GET OUT OF 1ST GEAR. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP IN EASLEY SC AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT SO THEY CAN TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM AGAIN. ON 9/17/2016 IT WAS DETERMINED TO HAVE A BAD TRANSMISSION AND I WAS TOLD THAT RAM WAS REPLACING WITH A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION, HOWEVER THERE WAS NOT AN ETA FOR DELIVERY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE LOCAL REP WOULD FOLLOW UP ON THE STATUS AND NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM EITHER. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE CASE MANAGERS AND THEY CAN NOT EVEN GET AN ETA FOR THE PART. THE TRUCK ALSO NEEDS (2) RECALLS CORRECTED AS WELL. II ASKED ABOUT A LOANER AND WAS TOLD UNTIL THEY HAVE AN ETA ON THE PART THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE A LOANER. SO I AM NOT FORCED TO DRIVE A TRUCK WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION. ALSO I WANT TO MENTION THAT THE TRUCK IS BEING REPAIRED UNDER THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE'S WARRANTY. MY EXTENDED MOPAR WARRANTY HAS NOT EVEN KICKED IN YET. SO BASICALLY I HAVE A TRUCK THAT THE COMPANY CAN NOT GET A MAJOR PART UNDER THE WARRANTY. I CAN BARELY GET OUT OF 1ST GEAR AND WHEN IT DOES I SUFFER A VERY HARD JOLT WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT RAM IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS.
I HAVE A 2016 RAM 1500 SLT QUAD CAB. 5.7 LITER HEMI AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ROTORS DIAL SHIFTER. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN PUT IN PARK VEHICLE WAS STILL IN REVERSE. HAVE MENTIONED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE LAST 2 OIL CHANGES. THEY JUST IGNORED IT. YESTERDAY 9/3/2018 WENT OUT TO MOVE THE TRUCK. PUT IT IN DRIVE, SELECTOR SHOWED DRIVE AND TRUCK WENT IN REVERSE WHEN I GAVE IT GAS. THIS CAUSED ME TO HIT MY SPRINTER VAN DOING DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES. NOW I'M LEERY OF DRIVING IT. IT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO GET IT TO GO INTO DRIVE. PLEASE HELP. AFTER GOOGLING THIS I SAW THAT THERE IS A RECALL. CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD MY TRUCK IS NOT IN THE RECALL.
VEHICLE LOSS ELECTRICITY WHILE RUNNING ON HIGWAY OR ROAD, AT THE BEGINNING IT STARTED TURNING EVERYTHING OFF AND TURNING ON ABOUT 2 OR 3 SECONDS LATER. PROBLEM STARTED AT THE BEGINNING OF JUNE 2018. THEN ON AUGUST 18 THE CAR TURNED OFF COMPLETELY AND TRANSMISSION TURNED TO PARK BY ITSELF MAKING A LOUD GRINDING SOUND, CAR DID STARTED AGAIN AND WAS TAKEN FOR SERVICE; IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2018.
I WAS BACKING DOWN BOAT RAMP AND PUT TRUCK IN PARK I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK TO SECURE BOAT TO TRAILER AND THE TRUCK ROLLED DOWN BOAT RAMP KNOCKING ME DOWN AND DRAGGING ME INTO THE WATER AND TRUCK COMPLETELY SEMERAGED IN BOTTOM OF LAKE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. WHILE PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT 2 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAYED "SERVICE THROTTLE BODY". THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION AND POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TACOMA DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (4101 S TACOMA WAY, TACOMA, WA 98409), BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE FAILURE CODE WAS ERASED, THE FAILURE WENT AWAY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THIS WAS THE SIXTH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME FAILURE SINCE APRIL OF 2018. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: S171800032. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. *DT UPDATED 12/20/18*JB
WHEN ACCELERATING RAPIDLY (A HEAVY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL) THE VEHICLE OFTEN REMAINS IN ACCELERATION MODE ONCE THE PEDAL IS RELEASED, AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO INCREASE ITS VELOCITY. BRAKING DOES NOT FIX THIS ISSUE. TWICE NOW I'VE HAD TO SWITCH THE TRUCK TO NEUTRAL, AND LET THE COMPUTER FIGURE OUT I DIDN'T WANT THE GAS PEDAL ANYMORE. THIS WAS A RESULT OF MERGING ONTO A FREEWAY, AND PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE.
MY WIFE, DOG AND I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT OF A COUNTERTOP SUPPLY STORE. IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 80 DEGREASE OUTSIDE SO I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOWS TO HALF AND LEFT THE TRUCK RUNNING IN PARK TO KEEP THE A/C ON FOR THE DOG. IN THIS PARKING LOT WE WERE THE ONLY VEHICLE PARKED NEAR BY AND THERE WAS NO PARKING BLOCK IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK. WE WERE IN THE STORE APPROXIMATELY 20 MIN LOOKING FOR A COUNTERTOP THEN WENT TO SIT DOWN WITH THE SALES SPECIALIST. ABOUT 5 MIN INTO THAT CONVERSATION THE SECRETARY IN THE FRONT YELLED "YOUR TRUCK IS DRIVING OFF". I IMMEDIATELY RAN OUT THE DOOR TO FIND MY TRUCK ABOUT 25 YARDS AWAY AND ACROSS THE MAIN ROAD. THE ROAD DID NOT HAVE CURBS BUT DID HAVE STEEP CULVERTS ON BOTH SIDES (NOTE: I WOULD NOT THINK A TRUCK AT IDLE WOULD MAKE IT UP TO THE ROAD) THE TRUCK "TOOK OFF" PER 3 WORKERS THAT WERE NEAR BY IN THE LOT MOVING A LARGE SLAB OF GRANITE, AND A SIMI DRIVER WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD STATING THAT BOTH MY RAM AND HIS TRACTOR HIT TIRES AND THAT'S WHAT GOT MY TRUCK TO STOP. EVERYONE THAT WITNESSED THIS STATED THE DOG WAS IN THE BACK SEAT AND NO ONE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE. AS I APPROACHED THE TRUCK IT SOUNDED TO BE RUNNING AT IDLE AND WHEN I GRABBED THE DOOR HANDLE THE LOCKS UNLOCKED AS NORMAL. I FOUND THE TRUCK IN DRIVE AND RPM AT NORMAL IDLE RANGE. THE TRUCK ALLOWED ME TO PUT IT BACK IN PARK. I THEN RESTARTED THE TRUCK, MOVED IT BACK TO THE PARKING LOT. THE BUSINESS HAS SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE OF THIS SHOWING HOW MY TRUCK UN TAMPERED WITH WENT FROM IDLE AND PARK FOR 25ISH MIN TO DRIVING ACROSS THE ROAD AND I AM CURRENTLY PERUSING A COPY OF THE TAPE. DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND I WAS TOLD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT LATE NEXT WEEK (EARLIEST AVAILABLE) FOR AN INSPECTION, AND UNTIL THEN TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE EVERY TIME. TRUCK APPEARS TO BE DRIVING AS NORMAL. THE STORE WAS AROUND 15 MILES AWAY, TRUCK WAS PARKED ALL NIGHT LEADING UP TO EVENT.
DROPPING BOAT IN WATER ON SLIGHT GRADE RAMP. PUT CAR IN PARK AND SHUT DOWN. AS I DROPPED BOAT FROM THE TRAILER THE TRUCK ROLLED DOWN THE RAMP IMMERSING 3/4 OF THE BODY IN THE SALT WATER. NO ONE WAS BEHIND THE WHEEL. THIS PRODUCT HAS HAD ISSUES WITH ROLLAWAYS
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 18V-486. THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED JULY 26, 2018 BUT FCA STILL HAS NOT ISSUED THE PART FOR THIS RECALL AND IT HAS BEEN A FULL MONTH ALREADY. I USE MY BED TO CARRY GOODS ALL THE TIME AND I AM IN FEAR OF THE TAILGATE OPENING. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THANK YOU
WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION IN WHICH I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN AND HIT THE CONCRETE MEDIAN TWICE. THE BUMPER WAS PUSHED BACK TO THE TIRE AND THE AIRBAG SWITCH WAS TRIPPED BUT DIDN'T DEPLOY. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACCIDENT I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THE VEHICLE VHR DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM STATING THAT THE VEHICLE RECENTLY NOTICED A AIRBAG ALARM LIGHT AND ISSUED ME A RECALL AFTER THE FACT.
OUR TRUCK IS TWO YEARS OLD. WE HAVE 77,000 MILES ON IT AND THE FUEL SENSOR/PUMP WENT BAD. IT'S NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY; HOWEVER, A FUEL PUMP SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 2 YEARS AND 77,000 MILES. WE FILL UP WITH FUEL. EVERYTHING IS FINE UNTIL THE NEEDLES HITS THE FIRST LINE. WE GET A FUEL SENSOR WARNING AND THE GUAGE DROPS TO EMPTY. THE TRUCK RUNS FINE. NO HESITATION OF STALLING. WOULDN'T KNOW ANYTHING WAS WRONG EXCEPT FOR THE WARNING LIGHTS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, TOO. ACCORDING TO DODGE, THE TWO ARE RELATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS OVERREACTING FROM ANY BUMPS IN THE ROAD, MAKING DRIVING DIFFICULT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BETTENHAUSEN AUTOMOTIVE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 8355 W 159TH ST, TINLEY PARK, IL 60477, (708) 532-2665) WHERE UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE LOWER SHAFT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RETRIEVED FROM THE DEALER, ALONG WITH A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY PERFORMED LOCK TIGHTENING ON THE STEERING SYSTEM AND THAT A NEW STEERING GEAR WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL JANUARY OR FEBRUARY OF 2019. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
TAKARA RECALL MY DODGE RAM HAS HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THE FRONT END LOWERING ITS SELF IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW IT'S BEEN BACK IN THE DEALERSHIP TWICE SO FAR FOR IT EVERYTIME THEY SAY IT'S THE AIR COMPRESSOR SYSTEM FOR IT THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I ENDED UP STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGH WAY FOR 3 HOURS CUZ OT CAUSED A FRONT TIRE TO BLOW OUT SO I WAS SITTING ON A FLAT AND WITH THE SUSPENSTION SYSTEM LOWERING IT SO FAR YOU CANT WVEN ATTEMPT TO TRY PUTTING A SPARE ON I EONT EVEN WANT THIS VEHICLE ANY MORE I DONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT CUZ THE SAME PROBLEM CONSTANTLY ACCURS AND NEVER GETS RESOLVED IT MIGHT LAST A MONTH IF THAT AFTER THEY "FIX" IT AND IT'S BACK TO DOING THE SAME THING IT'S A 53,000 THOUSAND DOLLAR TRUCK WITH ONLY 23 THOUSAND MILES ON IT I SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS MANY PROBLEMS AND THE DATE BELOW IS ONE OF MY RECORDS OF WHEN IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP TO GET FIXED

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,495.
TAILGATE RANDOMLY OPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS 15 MPH AND ACTIVATES THE DOOR LOCKS ALONG WITH THE TAILGATE LOCK. CONTENTS SPILL OUT OF THE BED AND INTO TRAFFIC. I CANT FIND A SAFETY BULLETIN BUT THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. THIS HAS HAPPENED 15 TIMES ON MY VEHICLE IN THE LAST MONTH. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A VIBRATION SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2018. THE VIBRATION COMES AT ABOUT 45 MPH AND CONTINUES AS YOU GO UP IN SPEED. HAD THE DEALER LOOK INTO IT WITH NO LUCK, EXCEPT CHANGING MULTIPLE PARTS FOR NO BENEFIT. I REPLACED THE STOCK WHEELS FOR ANOTHER SET OF NEW WHEELS HOPING FOR THE VIBRATION TO GO AWAY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE VIBRATION WITH MULTIPLE ALIGNMENTS AND ROAD FORCE BALANCING. WITH ALL BEING UNSUCCESSFUL, THE NEW WHEELS DID NOT HELP. SO THEN I CHANGED THE TIRES. STILL, NO DIFFERENCE IN THE RIDE. I NOTICED THEY ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS WITH NO ANSWERS FOR THIS ISSUE ON THE NEW GEN RAM 1500'S. THE THING THAT REALLY IRRITATES ME, WHEN A 2006 OLD 2500 WORK TRUCK RIDES SMOOTHER THAN MY 2016 RAM 1500 LARAMIE WITH MORE ADVANCED SUSPENSION COMPONENTS... I LOVE MY TRUCK, BUT WHEN I RIDE IN A CHEVY OR FORD I CRINGE KNOWING THAT MY TRUCK IS NOT AS SMOOTH AND I'M LEFT FEELING LOST AND SECRETLY ANGRY.
JULY 2ND I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY, OPENED MY GARAGE DOOR,PLACED VEHICLE IN PARK AND EXITED VEHICLE TO GO IN THE HOUSE. MY FIANCE STAYED IN VEHICLE, I TURNED AND YELLED TO HER TO COME IN HOUSE AS I WAS GOING TO LET DOGS OUT BEFORE WE LEFT AGAIN.I PROCEEDED IN HOUSE AND SHE EXITED VEHICLE TO COME IN.SHE WALKED THROUGH THE GARAGE AND I HEARD HER SCREAMING FRANTICALLY, I RAN OUT TO THE GARAGE AND THE TRUCK FOLLOWED HER INTO THE GARAGE AND SHE WAS BETWEEN MY WORKBENCH AND THE TRUCK.I PULLED HER OUT OF THE WAY AND THE TRUCK CONTINUED PUSHING MY BASEMENT WALL IN ABOUT 7 INCHES. I RAN AROUND THE TRUCK AND APPLIED THE BRAKES,IT WAS IN PARK.WE CONTACTED FIAT CHRYSLER, THEY SENT ME A PAPER TO SIGN ALLOWING THEM TO GET INFORMATION FROM THE ORC IN THE VEHICLE, WHICH I ALLOWED.ON FRIDAY JULY 20TH WE MET WITH AN INSPECTOR AND HE HOOKED UP COMPUTERS TO THE TRUCK TO GET THE INFORMATION STATING HE SENDS REPORT TO FCA AND THEY WOULD NOTIFY US.WE GOT A LETTER YESTERDAY JULY 27TH BASICALLY STATING PER OUR OWNERS MANUAL WE SHOULD ALWAYS USE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND DECLINED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. NEVER STATED OR SHARED WHAT THE OCR RESULTS SHOWED.THIS COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE AND THE ROTARY SHIFTER IS A PROBLEM.A FEW DAYS AFTER THE INCIDENT WHILE DRIVING ON A BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY THE WIPERS START UP FULL BOAR LIKE IT WAS POURING OUT.THEY WERE IN THE OFF POSITION. SOMETHING IS WRONG AND THEY ARE TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY. WE HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER AND THERE IS PROBABLY $3500 TO 5000 DAMAGE JUST TO VEHICLE. GRILL IS BROKE, HEADLIGHT HOUSING FENDER AND BUMPER DAMAGE. REPAIRS TO BASEMENT WALL AND MY FIANCE WAS BLACK AND BLUE AND SORE ,HIP AREA AND ANKLE. *DSY

BOJANGLES PARKING LOT, PUT TRUCK IN PARK. GOT OUT, LOOKED TO MAKE SURE I WAS NOT BLOCKING ANYBODY BEHIND ME AND WALKED INTO THE STORE BECAUSE MY ORDER WAS WRONG. STOOD IN LINE FOR ROUGHLY A MINUTE OR 2 AND HEARD A CRASH, TURNED AROUND AND MY TRUCK HAD HIT A FORD EXPLORER ON THE DRIVER REAR SIDE OF THE BUMPER. NO INJURIES, EVERYONE WAS OKAY. BUMPER SCRATCHED UP, GAVE THEM MY INFORMATION. I'M CURIOUS TO HOW MY TRUCK JUMPED OUT OF PARK INTO N OR D. IF IT WAS IN N, MY TRUCK WOULD HAVE MOVED WHEN I WAS GETTING OUT OF THE TRUCK, AND WOULD HAVE TAKEN A MUCH SHORTER AMOUNT OF TIME TO HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE OTHER PEOPLE SAID THEY SAW ME WALK INTO THE RESTAURANT AND MY TRUCK WASN'T MOVING.

DON DAVIS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP (1901 N COLLINS ST, ARLINGTON, TX) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BECAUSE THE CONTACT REFUSED TO PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000.
ACCORDING TO DIAGNOSTICS DONE ON THE TRUCK, THE CONTROL MODULE FOR THE POWER STEERING HAS SHORTED OUT. THIS IS THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL OF TRUCKS SUBJECTED TO THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. UNFORTUNATELY WHEN SEARCHING BY MY VIN, MY TRUCK DOESN'T SEEM TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP(PEP BOYS) FOR CHECKING OF A SLIGHT WOBBLE IN THE DRIVE LINE OR DRIVE SHAFT OF MY VEHICLE. MY 2016 RAM 1500 HAD JUST COME OUT OF THE PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN THE WOBBLE STARTED AT 60MPH. WHILE SEARCHING SEVERAL WEBSITES, FORUMS, YOUTUBE AND GOOGLE, I CAME UPON MANY OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE THAT RAM EVIDENTLY KNOWS ABOUT. RECENTLY I HAD BEEN TO THE RAM DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER RECALL ISSUE FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL. I MENTIONED TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH THE WOBBLE, WHICH BECAME A CONVERSATION WHICH QUICKLY BECAME AVOIDED BY TWO PEOPLE THAT WERE TECHNICIANS. THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME MORE TROUBLESOME NOW THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT AND DRINKS IN THE DRINK ARE A CONSTANT SHAKE! NOW THAT THE WHOLE VEHICLE SHAKES, I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND MAY EFFECT THE BRAKING SYSTEM WITH THIS VIGOROUS SHAKE. WHEN I SPOKE TO SEVERAL PEOPLE REGARDING MY ISSUES AND MANY OTHERS, THIS ISSUE WAS DUE TO A TWO PIECE DRIVE SHAFT WITH A RUBBER BUSHING OF SOME SORT AND THE UNIVERSAL JOINT THAT CONTACTS THE REAR END.
VEHICLE WAS POINTED DOWNHILL ON A CONCRETE DRIVEWAY WITH A TRAILER ATTACHED WHICH WEIGHED APPROXIMATELY 1200 POUNDS. THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK, THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED AND THE ENGINE OFF. A WHEEL CHOCK WAS PLACED IN FRONT (DOWNHILL SIDE) OF THE DRIVERS REAR WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT UNDISTRIBUTED FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 MINUTES WHEN IT BEGAN TO ROLL DOWNHILL ON ITS OWN. IT CAME TO REST IN A DITCH.
THE TAILGATE COMES OPEN SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING. THE TAILGATE DID NOT HAVE ANY CARGO AGAINST IT. THE TAILGATE HAS CAME OPEN SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST TWO MONTHS. LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS ON 5/18/2018.
I KEEP HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THE TRUCK. THE PLUGIN AREAS FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN THE REAR PASSENGER KEEPS BURNING OUT FUSES. I AM ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL ACTING LIKE IT HAS A SHORT TURNING ITSELF ON AND OFF. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE OR IN THE DRIVE WAY AS WELL.

MY TRUCK HAS JUST AT 36,000 MILES AND IS A 2016. AT AROUND 34,000 THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY. THE ON/OFF BUTTON DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK. I WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION ON 4-23-2018. AT 60MPH, MY AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER (CASE# 33961416). THEY SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO DOWNLOAD THE INFORMATION FROM THE COMPUTER. THE INVESTIGATOR REPORTED THAT THE AIRBAGS WAS WORKING AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION AND THAT I WAS NOT TRAVELING FAST ENOUGH FOR IT TO DEPLOY. WHEN THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ME WITH A COPY OF THE REPORT, I HIRED MY ON INVESTIGATOR TO DOWNLOAD THE INFORMATION FROM THE COMPUTER. MY INVESTIGATOR FOUND THAT CHRYSLER'S REPORT WAS 100% INCORRECT. HIS REPORT STATES THAT I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 60MPH AND THE AIRBAGS FAILED. HE EVEN PROVIDED PHOTOS OF THE STEERING COLUMN THAT SHOWS THE AIRBAGS TRIED TO DEPLOY BUT FAILED. WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION TRAVELING ABOUT 70MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE, MY PASSENGER WINDOW FELL HALFWAY INTO THE DOOR. THIS CAUSED ME TO SWERVE AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT WAS 20 DEGREES OUTSIDE AROUND 430 AM AND THE TRUCK AND BEEN WARMED UP SUFFICIENTLY AND THE HEATER WAS ON. HOWEVER I WAS STILL TOLD IT HAPPENED BECAUSE IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE AND THE "CLIPS" THAT HOLD THE WINDOW HAD BROKEN. I DID NOT ATTEMPT TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW. IT CONSTANTLY KEPT FALLING DOWN BY ITSELF AND I HAD TO HOLD THE POWER BUTTON UP TO KEEP IT FROM DOING SO, WHILE DRIVING IN THE MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. ONCE I GOT TO WORK AND PARKED MY TRUCK IN A UNSECURED PARKING GARAGE, THE WINDOW WAS UP THIS WAS AT ABOUT 630 AM CST. UPON RETURNING TO MY PARKED/STATIONARY TRUCK AT A BREAK AROUND 9 AM CST, THE WINDOW HAD DROPPED HALFWAY DOWN AND THE SAME THROUGHOUT THE DAY. I WENT TO THE DEALER AT ONCE, AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND ITS NOT COVERED BECAUSE OF MY MILEAGE. SO I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR IT, FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT EVEN 2 YEARS OLD, AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. NOT TO MENTION THAT IT WOULD NOT STAY UP AND THE TRUCK WAS NOT ATTENDED TO IN A UNSECURE GARAGE IN THE NOT SO NICE PART OF THE CITY. NOW THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW IS DOING THE SAME THING, AND ITS NO WHERE NEAR COLD (CONSTANTLY ABOVE 60 DEGREES EVEN AT NIGHT). THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR ALL VEHICLES THAT ARE MADE BY DODGE THAT HAVE THIS WORTHLESS AND CHEAPLY MADE WINDOW MECHANISMS.

KNUCKLE BROKE AT TIE ROD WHEN ENTERING A TURN ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH CAUSING SPIN OUT AND ACCIDENT BETWEEN VEHICLE AND SEMI. WHEN ENTERING TURN HIT SOME SLUSH FELT SOMETHING FUNNY THEN VEHICLE LOST CONTROL. THERE IS NO DAMAGE ON THE WHEEL OR TIRE ALL CONTACT FROM CRASH AT FRONT OF VEHICLE IS AT SIDE VIEW MIRROR TO THE TOP OF THE HEADLIGHT. THE ROADS ARE SMOOTH WITH NO POT HOLES, CRACKS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND. THE SURFACE WAS WET. THE VEHICLE DID NOT LEAVE THE ROAD SURFACE.

WAS ABLE TO HOP BACK IN BUT BY THAT TIME MY TRUCK HIT A VEHICLE THAT WAS IN FRONT OF ME CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE OTHER PARTY'S VEHICLE AS WELL AS MY TRUCK .THEIR VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND OWNERS WERE NOT IN VEHICLE AT THAT TIME.
IN COLD WEATHER THE ELECTRIC DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REPEATEDLY DISCONNECTED FROM THE TRACK. THIS CAUSES THE WINDOW TO FREE FALL INTO THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. FCA CLAIMS THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE AND WILL NOT COVER REPEATED REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER SUGGESTION TO PREVENT PROBLEM IS TO NOT USE WINDOW IN WEATHER BELOW 32 DEGREES. PERSONALLY HAD MY WINDOW COME OFF TRACK TWICE IN 1 WEEK, ONCE WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO OPERATE THE WINDOW.

IN ORDER TO PLACE THE VEHICLE ON THE TOW TRUCK, THE VEHICLE HAD TO HAVE A SWITCH UNDERNEATH THE BOTTOM FLIPPED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE ATTACHED TO THE TOW TRUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE DEALER (TELEGRAPH CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP, 12000 TELEGRAPH ROAD, TAYLOR, MI 48180) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE KEPT THERE IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT AT THE DEALER FOR FOUR DAYS UNTIL THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN ACCESS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE CODES CONFIRMED THE FAILURE, BUT THE CAUSE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO SWITCH GEARS, THE TECHNICIAN DISCONNECTED AND THEN RECONNECTED THE BATTERY. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE REPAIR COULD NOT BE REPEATED A SECOND TIME AND COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE COMPLAINT WOULD NOT BE ESCALATED AND WAS OFFERED A FREE TIRE ROTATION. THE VIN SEARCH REVEALED THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
