SUDDEN LOSE OF FRONT AIR SUSPENSION WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING, NEGATIVELY EFFECTED THE VEHICLES STABILITY, STEERING, AND ABILITY TO STOP. TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT DEALER. ONLY EXPLANATION GIVEN IS IT MIGHT BE BECAUSE ITS COLD OUTSIDE (WHICH HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HAPPEN IN WINTER).
THE AIR SUSPENSION ON MY 2017 RAM 1500 HAS MALFUNCTIONED. IT WILL GO FROM WORKING GOOD, TO NO SUSPENSION AT ANY TIME WITH NO WARNING. THEN THE DRIVERS SIDE WILL HAVE NO SUSPENSION, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL JACK UP TO OFF ROAD 2. AGAIN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR ME DOING ANYTHING TO PROMPT IT. MAKES THE TRUCK VERY SQUIRRELY TO DRIVE.
NOTICE VB!/NHTSA 19V-757 RECEIVED DECEMBER 2019. ADVISED TODAY BY FCA FIX NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL APRIL 2020 EARLIEST. FAILURE OF RECALLED PART, DIESEL EGR COOLER, MAY RESULT IN ENGINE FIRE. UNACCEPTABLE THAT REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE! I HAVE REDUCED DRIVING THIS VEHICLE DUE TO UNCERTAINTY.
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the coolant level was abnormally low. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the EGR cooler was replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Ruge's Chrysler Dodge Jeep (6882 US-9, Rhinebeck, NY 12572), where the EGR cooler and intake were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the second dealer who informed the contact that no coolant leak was found upon inspection. The contact stated that the coolant level was abnormally low. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
EVERY 5 OR 10 MILES THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATES ON THE DASHBOARD. THE WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT ACTIVATE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN MOTION HOWEVER IF IT IS ACTIVATED AND THEN THE VEHICLES PUT INTO PARK SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE WARNING LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON FOR ANYWHERE FROM ONE MILE TO A HUNDRED MILES THEN SHUT OFF AND ANOTHER 5 OR 10 MILES LATER TURN BACK ON
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY. LIGHT WILL GO OFF WHEN TANK IS FULL AND COMES ON AT 3/4. CODE READS FUEL SENSOR INPUT LEVEL HIGH VOLTAGE.
WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, ACCELERATION FROM A STOP IS ALMOST NON EXISTENT FOR ROUGHLY 3-4 SECONDS. PULLING OUT IN TO NORMAL TRAFFIC IS DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT PERFORM ANYWHERE NEAR THE WAY IT DOES ONCE WARMED UP. MY SERVICING DEALER AND CHRYSLER CORPORATE TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A ISSUE WITH EXCESSIVE EMISSIONS FROM MY 2017 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL WHEN COLD WHICH REQUIRED THEM TO INHIBIT FUEL FLOW TO THE ENGINE UNTIL THE ENGINE REACHED A TEMPERATURE OF 157 DEGREES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS THE TRUCK SEEMS TO IGNORE THE DRIVERS DESIRE TO ACCELERATE. I'VE COME CLOSE TO BEING REAR-ENDED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION BECAUSE THE TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT MORE THAN WHAT SEEMS TO BE AN IDOL FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I'VE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR ABOUT 1.5 YEARS AND STILL THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. IT IS MY HOPE THAT FEDERAL ACTION WILL SPUR A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.
MY TRUCK HAS HAD AIR-SUSPENSION PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED IT BACK IN 2017. THE AIR SUSPENSION WILL COMPLETELY BOTTOM OUT THE TRUCK WHICH MAKES DRIVING UNSAFE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT TAKES ME TWICE AS LONG TO BREAK WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND IF I HIT A BUMP ON THE FREEWAY IT WILL MAKE EVERYBODY INSIDE THE TRUCK JOLT.
ON NOVEMBER 9, 2019, AT APPROXIMATELY 12:PM, I WAS AT MY AREA'S ATM, SITTING STILL, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK JUST TURNED OFF, WITHOUT WARNING AND I HAD TO GET IT TOWED HOME BY MY AAA SERVICE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO FOUND FAILURE CODES: P0402 AND P20EE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V757000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WILSON MOTORS (541-286-7610, LOCATED AT 425 N W BUCHANAN, CORVALLIS, OR 97330-6253), BUT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,500. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. TOWBIN DODGE (275 AUTO MALL DR, HENDERSON, NV) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DESPITE RECALL U61/NHTSA 18V-332 BEING COMPLETED ON MY PICKUP- ON 7/23/2018 I WAS SOUTHBOUND ON INTERSTATE 29 BETWEEN ST.JOSEPH AND KANSAS CITY MO THE MORNING OF OCTOBER 31, 2019. WE HAD SNOW, FREEZING PRECIPITATION, ETC THE EVE BEFORE AND DRIVING WAS TENUOUS AT BEST. WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL SET AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MILES PER HOUR TRAFFIC BEGAN TO SUDDENLY SLOW DUE TO NUMEROUS SLIDE OFFS AND ACCIDENTS. I TAPPED MY BRAKE TO SLOW AND DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL- AND THE IMMEDIATE RESPONSE WAS FOR THE ENGINE TO REV AND INCREASE RPM,S TO MAINTAIN SPEED. CONSTANT ATTEMPTS TO BRAKE AND OVER RIDE WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. I DEEMED IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE BRAKES TO STOP MY VEHICLE! A RED WARNING LIGHT "BRAKE" APPEARED ON THE DASH ALONG WITH A FEW LINES OF MESSAGE WHICH I COULD NOT READ DUE TO KEEPING MY EYES ON THE ROAD. I SOMEHOW MANAGED THE THOUGHT PROCESS OF TURNING THE GEAR SHIFT KNOB TO THE NEUTRAL POSITION AND WAS JUST BARELY ABLE TO GET STOPPED BEFORE SMASHING INTO THE VEHICLE'S IN FRONT OF ME. THE DEALER WHO SUPPOSEDLY PERFORMED MY RECALL OF REPROGRAMMING THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE IS TRI STATE DODGE IN MARYVILLE MO 64468. THEY SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HOOK MY TRUCK TO THE COMPUTER TO TRY AND DETERMINE WHAT HPPENED ON 11/7/2019

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREENVILLE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE LOCATED AT (5401 INTERSTATE HWY 30, GREENVILLE, TX 75402, (903) 454-0283) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS LOW ON COOLANT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN DUE TO A POSSIBLE FIRE RISK WITHOUT WARNING.. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
2017 DODGE RAM. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FIRE HAZARD RECALL. *LD *JS
I OWN SUBJECT 2017 RAM ED TRUCK. OCT 25, 2019, FCA ISSUED A NEW SAFETY RECALL ADVANCE COMMUNICATION RE THE ECO DIESEL VB1 RECALL MATTER. DECEMBER 2019, I RECEIVED MY FIRST COMMUNICATION FROM FCA ON VB1. MAY 2020 I RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER ON VB1, IMPLORING ME TO TAKE MY TRUCK A DEALER AND OBTAIN THE REPAIR.I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SEVERAL DEALERS TO OBTAIN THE REPAIRS,AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE TO DO THE REPAIR. MOST RECENT DEALER CONTACT WAS LATE JULY, 2020. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICE FROM FCA, AS PROMISED THAT THE REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. FCA HAS PUT ME IN A POSITION OF RISKING AN ENGINE FIRE EVERY TIME I USE THE TRUCK, I CAN NOT SELL THE TRUCK TO A DEALER DUE TO THE OUTSTANDING RECALL, AND AM AT RISK OF CAL DMV DECLINING THE LICENSE PLATE RENEWAL IN DECEMBER THIS YEAR. THIS UNREASONABLY SLOW RESPONSE BY FCA TO THIS SERIOUS ISSUE IS IMMORAL AND UNCONSIONABLE. PLEASE DEMAND IMMEDIATE ACTION OF FCA TO PROVIDE ALL THE PARTS TO THEIR DEALER NETWORK TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I AM USING THIS TRUCK NLY WHEN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, AND AM BLOCKED FROM SELLING THE TRUCK.
I FILLED UP MY VEHICLE WITH FUEL ON TUESDAY. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THURSDAY WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN THE FUEL LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH A MESSAGE. THEN I NOTICED MY FUEL GAUGE READ EMPTY. I KNOW IT WASN'T EMPTY BECAUSE I FILLED UP 2 DAYS EARLIER. I WENT THROUGH THE NOTIFICATION TABS AND WENT TO MESSAGES AND WHEN I OPENED THE MESSAGE IT READ, "FUEL SENSOR FAIL" ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND BOTH LIGHTS STAYED ON. FUEL GAUGE STILL READS EMPTY. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 40350 MILES ON IT AND SEAMS TO BE TOO SOON FOR ANYTHING LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS TAKEN. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A FAILURE AFTER DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THAT 1 GALLON OF OIL WAS BEGIN USED WITHIN 400 MILES OF DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS SEEN AT THE SAME DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,850. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *LN *AS

THE CONTACT CALLED THE WILDER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM DEALER LOCATED AT 53 JETTA WAY, PORT ANGELES, WA 98362, AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY SECOND FRONT IMPACT WITH MY TRUCK. FIRST ONE WAS 10K DAMAGE IMPACT WAS 50 MPH, THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. RAM SAYS CLOCK SPRING NEEDS REPLACED, I PAY THEM TO REPLACE IT. 2 WEEKS LATER ANOTHER FRONTAL IMPACT AT 45MPH, AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY NOR THE SEAT BELTS LOCK UP. MY 12 YO DAUGHTER HITS THE DASH AND NOW HAS A CONCUSSION. I END UP WITH A DISC ISSUE AND PINCHED NERVES IN MY NECK. FUNNY HOW I PAY IT GET A SYSTEM FIXED AND NOW NOTHING WORKS. CALLED DEALER TALKED TO MELODY, SHE SAID SERVICE MANAGER WOULD CALL BACK, NEVER HAS. I'M CONSIDERING FILING A LAW SUIT AGAINST RAM AND PARTS SUPPLIER.
POWER STEERING WORKS AND DON'T WORK DONT WORK WHEN TEMP IS 40;OR BELOW THEN DRIVE FOR 10_12 MILES SHUT ENGINE OFF RESTART AND POWER STEERING WORKING
WELL DOCUMENTED, KNOWN SERVICING ISSUES WITH 'AIR RIDE SUSPENSION' SYSTEM INSTALLED IN 2017 RAM 1500 TRUCK. A SIMPLE ONLINE INVESTIGATIVE SEARCH REVEALS COUNTLESS SCORES OF SERVICE CASES AND HIGHLY CATASTROPHIC FAILURES OF MANY ASPECTS OF THIS EQUIPMENT SYSTEM WHICH HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO THE MANUFACTURER (RCA CORPORATION) FOR MANY MANY YEARS AND THESE FAILURES OF THIS SUSPENSION SYSTEM CONTINUE TO HAUNT CONSUMERS AND HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS AMONGST OTHER INCONVENIENCES.
I HAVE A 2017 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTING MAKING A CRAZY NOISE THEN BEGIN TO LOOSE POWER, I STEERED THE TRUCK ONTO THE SHOULDER WHERE IMMEDIATELY WHITE SMOKE STARTING BELLOWING FROM UNDERNEATH THE FRONT AND SIDES OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT I OPENED THE HOOD BUT NO FLAMES WERE VISIBLE AND IT EVENTUALLY WENT OUT. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALER AND THREE WEEKS LATER THEY NOW TELL ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE EGR COOLER LEAKING WHICH APPARENTLY IS A KNOWN AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM.
THE "SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL" LIGHT AS WELL AS THE "CEL" ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE GOES IN TO LIMP MODE. I HAD THIS ISSUE AT 3100 MILES AND IT LEFT THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE UNTIL A DEALERSHIP PERFORMED A PROGRAMMING FLASH. NOW AT 31100 MILES THE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AGAIN NEARLY CAUSING ME TO GET T-BONED DUE TO THE LIMP MODE CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT POWER REDUCTION. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR FOUR DAYS NOW WITHOUT ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION FROM THEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY RAM, MY TRUCK HAS THE ECODIESEL ENGINE. I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE ACROSS THE FIAT/ CHRYSLER LINEUP.
FUEL SENSOR FAILURE ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. ONE WAS REPLACED (FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR) AND THE OTHER HAS NOT BEEN YET DUE TO THE VERY HIGH PRICE OF THE REPAIR ($800 - $1000). FUEL GAUGE READS FULL AND THEN SUDDENLY DROPS TO EMPTY. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
EGR HAS A PROBLEM. WHICH MAY CAUSE A FIRE AND MOPAR DOESN'T HAVE A FIX FOR IT . THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL. I WANT TO TRADE IT FOR A GAS POWERED INSTEAD OF THE DIESEL AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT ON TRADE. IF THEY WOULD THEY WON'T GIVE ME ANY WHERE CLOSE TO WHAT THE PICKUP WOULD BE VALUED. IT SEEMS THAT THE PROBLEM IS THEIR PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD NOT PENALIZE THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS. IT IS REALLY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IT IF IT HAS THE SYMPTOMS IT HAS AS TO FIRE. IT IS A ON GOING PROBLEM AS THEY DIDN'T TELL ME WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. SOUNDS LIKE BOEING???

THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT WHEN SHE WAS REVERSING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE BACK UP CAMERA WAS POINTED AT THE GROUND. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE TAILGATE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE CONTACT CALLED FOX NEGAUNEE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM 701 US-41, NEGAUNEE, MI 49866 AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

Purchased Truck 2017. Truck is less than 5 years old and engine is now at 66,000 miles. Truck purchased from David Dodge, Glenn Mills Pa. Truck oil changes and 57 point inspection completed with no identifying issues reported. Truck has been serviced by Dodge Dealership with 57 point inspection up to and including 2021. Last service done 7/21 at Mount Airy NC Dodge Dealer. Ticking noise from engine became more prominent. Searched online to find Dodge 5.7 Hemi's manifold bolts break off. It is a issue for Dodge 5.7 Hemi's. The problem has been a reoccuring issues for Hemi's identified from manufacturing 2009 forward. Dodge Dealership stated warreny ends at 60,000 miles / or 5 years. Dodge Dealers never identified the manifold bolts breakage issue. The tapping noise from the engine during maintenance by the Dodge Dealer service department never identified the possible manifold breakage issue. Awaiting reply
I WAS TAKING A CORNER AT ABOUT 20 MPH AND THE POWER STEERING GAVE OUT CAUSING ME TO ALMOST CRASH THE VEHICLE, A COUPLE MUNUTES LATER IT CAME BACK ON FOR A LITTLE WHILE, AND THEN THE NEXT TIME I STARTED UP THE TRUCK IT HAD NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. NOW WAITING TO GET IT INTO DODGE FOR REPAIRS.
YEAH I STARTED WITH THE SCREENS IN MY DASH GOING DARK THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ISSUE WAS SO NOW IT'S GOTTEN TO WHERE THE WHOLE DASHBOARD AND THE WHOLE EVERYTHING DIES OR SHUTS DOWN. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE DROPS DOWN AS IF YOU'RE SLAMMED ON YOUR BREAKS YOU CAN FEEL THE PULL THE TRANSMISSION AS IF THAT'S WHAT'S SLOWING ME DOWN. THEN IT HITS RIGHT BACK WITHIN SECONDS IN THE WHOLE VEHICLE ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON EVERYTHING EVERYTHING I'M SO BRIGHT IT ALMOST BLIND YOU AND THEN ALL SUDDEN EVERYTHING CALM DOWN YOU'RE BACK TO NORMAL IN THE PICTURE I SENT IS WHAT THE SCREENS LOOK LIKE AFTERWARDS IT LOOKS LIKE WELL YOU'LL SEE.DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED WHAT AREA ROAD CONDITIONS IT JUST HAPPENS RANDOM INTERVALS. WHAT IS THE SCARE ME THE MOST ARE AT 70 MILES AN HOUR YOU HAVE NO POWER NO NOTHING TO START LOCKING UP AND STARTS BACK UP IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SENSORS THEY DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS BUT I CAN'T GET IT FIXED. IT'S ABOUT THE SCARIEST THING HAVING YOUR VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AT 60 TO 70 MILES AN HOUR QUITE OFTEN. I'VE TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CONDITION. IT'S OVER THE THREE YEARS HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. MY TRUCK HAS A MANUFACTURING DATE OF 11/17 AND ONLY HAS 37K MILES ON THE TRUCK. RANDOMLY MY TRUCK WENT INTO A "LIMP MODE" AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS DRIVING DOWN UNIVERSITY DRIVE IN HUNTSVILLE, AL AT ROUGHLY 45MPH ACCELERATING UP A SMALL INCLINE. THE 'LIMP MODE' IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND RESTRICTS THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR DRIVE AT A NORMAL PACE. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY OR PULLING OUT (WHAT WOULD NORMALLY BE SAFE) INTO TRAFFIC AND MY ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WAS EFFECTED IT COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. I TAKE MY 13-WEEK OLD DAUGHTER TO AND FROM DAYCARE IN THIS TRUCK AND IT HAS BECOME UNSAFE. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THEY ORIGINALLY NOTATED THAT IT WAS JUST A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I LATE GET A CALL THAT THE EGR COOLER HAD GONE OUT, BUT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THEY HAD 6 OTHER ECODIESEL VEHICLES IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE IN THE LAST WEEK. I CALLED THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY HAD ONE IN THE SHOP IN FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I THEN STARTED DOING RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE EGR COOLER IS A HUGE ISSUE FOR THESE TRUCKS AND FCA REFUSES TO ADDRESS IT. I CALLED THE FCA AND THEY EVENTUALLY AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRUCK ON 'GOOD WILL' AFTER I PAID A DEDUCTIBLE. FCA NEEDS TO PUT A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE EGR ISSUES. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, WHEN I CHANGE GEARS, IT WILL NOT GO IN, IT WILL JUST FLASH. I SO FAR, CAN CHANGE TO ANOTHER SELECTION, SUCH AS DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE WILL MOVE. THIS HAPPENED ONCE IN MY DRIVEWAY, TRIED NUMEROUS THINGS AND WOULD NOT WORK IN REVERSE. I CALLED DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN. THEY HAD IT TOWED. AFTER ARRIVAL, IT WORKED. I WENT ONLINE AND DISCOVERED NUMEROUS ENTRIES FROM PEOPLE AS FAR BACK AS 2013, WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, SOME TIMES IN DRIVE AND SOMETIMES IN REVERSE, LIKE MINE. SOME SAID THEY WERE DRIVING AND AT A STOPLIGHT. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED TO ME WAS AT THE GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT, I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT, STOPPED TO BACK UP AND STRAIGHTEN OUT, PUT IT IN REVERSE, ALL IT WOULD IS FLASH. TIED UP THE PARKING LOT FOR APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES. FINALLY IT WORKED.
TRUCK STILL UNDER WARENTY HAS LESS THAN 13,000 MILES. 7 DIFFERENT TIMES CAR WON'T START. HAVE HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP 3-4 TIMES. EACH TIME IT'S REPAIRED A DIFFERENT ELECTRICAL COMPUTER CODE IS STATED AS THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN PARKING LOTS, OUR DRIVEWAY AND AT A LIGHT (CAR WOULD NOT GO)! VERY DANGEROUS . NOTICED A SMELL FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW CONSISTENT WITH WET AND MOLDY CARPET AFTER IT RAINS. I NOTICED UNDER MY BACK SEATS IN THE STORAGE COMPARTMENT THAT THERE WAS STAGNANT WATER PUDDLING UP. BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC SHOP IN CORAL SPRINGS ( DR. BRAKES W/ MIKE.) AND HAD THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED FOR A FEE. FOUND OUT THAT THE REAR GLASS WITH THE OPERABLE WINDOW WAS LEAKING DOWN THE PASSENGERS SIDE, WETTING THE BACK INSULATION GOING DOWN TO THE CARPET FLOORING, AND FINALLY INTO THE STORAGE COMPARTMENTS. I CALLED COOPERATE IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE AND THE FIRST REP WAS PROFESSIONAL AND ASSISTED ME WITH A "GOOD WILL" CLAIM BEING THAT THIS IS MY FIRST DODGE VEHICLE AND EVEN INSISTED ON MY BROTHER PURCHASING ONE (WHICH HE DID, 2019 RAM SPORT ORANGE IN COLOR).THE REP HELPED ME SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. WHEN I GET TO THE ARRIGO DODGE, CHRYSLER, JEEP IN TAMARAC FL FOR MY APPOINTMENT ON THURSDAY AUG. 22, 2019, MY SERVICE PROFESSIONAL TERRI, CLAIMED THAT THE CASE WAS OPENED AND CLOSED THAT 2 DAYS BEFORE ON TUESDAY AND HE DIDN'T KNOW WHY BUT SHE ASKED HER DIRECTOR OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS THEY'RE WERE ANYTHING ELSE AND HE TOLD HER NO AND WALKED AWAY FROM ME. CALLED CORP AGAIN, SPOKE TO TRAVIAN, WHO WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND ENDED UP WITH ME ON HOLD FOR 11MINS ONLY TO HANG OP ON ME INSTEAD OF TRANSFERRING ME TO SOMEONE ELSE. THIS IS A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COOPERATE OPERATION AND FROM SOMEONE TELLING YOU ONE THING AND CHANGING THEIR MIND WITH OUT ANY CONSIDERATION FOR ME AS THE VEHICLE OWNER ASKING FOR HELP WITH A SITUATION THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ME, NOR THE TIME I TOOK OFF FROM MY JOB TO GET TO THE DEALERSHIP. DOOR LOCKS - VIDEO RECORDED PROBLEM SENT TO DEALER - A FEW MONTHS AGO DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM DOORS NOT UNLOCKING OR LOCKING WITH FOB OR DOOR SWITCHES. SINCE THEN OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT DID NOT WANT ANOTHER FRUITLESS TRIP TO THE DEALER. ON AND OFF NOW THE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH FOB OR HAND DOOR SENSOR. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE DOOR WILL UNLOCK ALLOWING ACCESS.

U53 OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE & U74 2015 - 2017 TAILGATE LATCH. FOR THE U74, I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW TO GET FIXED, AND THE LOCAL DEALERS DO NOT ASSIST STATING PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE LARGER CONCERN IS THE NEW U53 SEAT BELT SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE TRIED THROUGH MULTIPLE LOCAL DEALERS IN SAN ANTONIO TX, AND CHRYSLER CORP TO GET ASSISTANCE, AND I AM BEING MET WITH NO HELP. I AM HIGHLY CONCERNED AT THE SAFETY ISSUES AND THE MFR IS NOT HELPING. ONE DEALER EVEN STATED MY VIN DIDN'T HAVE THE RECALL WHEN I HAVE A VEHICLE REPORT EMAIL, SENT MONTHLY FROM MFR, THAT REFLECTS THE RECALL.
FUEL SENSOR HAS FAILED AT 42000 MILES WHILE IN MOTION. LIFTERS HAVE MADE BAD NOISE SINCE NEW, DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACE LIFTERS BUT NOISE IS STILL THERE INTERMITTENTLY WHILE SITTING STILL ON START UP
The plastic fan exploded and cut through the transmission lines causing the truck to stop moving and thousands of dollars in damage. While towing a 6500lb trailer, the fan was spinning at a high rate of speed when the plastic failed and broke apart in the engine bay causing damage to the paint, heat shield, and transmission lines. It was unknown that this occurred until the vehicle started to hesitate with the gas pedal until it no longer would drive. The vehicle and trailer were towed to Brandon Dodge on Broadway in Littleton Colorado where the service associate then told me the driver caused the fan to break!? Seems very unlikely that you could run over something that could fit up into the engine area and go into a high rate fan that blows into the engine bay and anything that did fit into that small opening would damage a fan so badly that all blades would break off. This issue had to be resolved by my insurance company as the warranty on the vehicle said they wouldn't fix it due to the service man's comments. The transmission had to be dropped and checked for damage and pan replaced, hoses replaced and new fan, which looks a different color/type to me was installed. The fan has been in the shop at 46k miles for noise and they replaced only the clutch.
FUEL NOZZLE GETS STUCK WHEN FILLING UP AT GAS STATIONS. I'VE HAD THIS TRUCK A YEAR AND A HALF NOW AND IT'S SO FRUSTRATING. CANNOT GO TO COSTCO AS IT GETS STUCK AND CONSTANTLY CLICKS OFF, 10 GALLONS AFTER THIRTY MINUTES! ON ANOTHER INSTANCE THE ATTENDANT HAD TO COME OUT WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND PRY UP THE NOZZLE AND YANK IT OUT! ON A NEW TRUCK? SERIOUSLY! IT'S A DOCUMENTED ISSUE ALL OVER THE INTERNET, FCA MADE THE FUEL ANGLE TOO STEEP AND NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO ADJUST ONCE IT'S IN THE NECK. I NOW HAVE TO BARELY INSERT THE NOZZLE SO IT DOESN'T CLICK IN OR SEAL AGAINST THE FILLER NECK, BYPASSING THE EPA CONTROLS AND HOLD IT SO IT WON'T GET STUCK OR CLICK OFF! SO IN ESSENCE TO FUEL UP I HAVE TO POLLUTE MORE, STUPID! IF IN DOUBT CHECK THE INTERNET FOR RAM OWNERS FORUMS, IT'S ALL OVER THE PLACE.

TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT NEEDS A FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AND PUMP. HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES REGARDING INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS SINCE PURCHASING NEW. TAKEN TO DEALER UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE'S, HAD RECALL FIXED FOR SHIFTER KNOB. ADDITIONAL ISSUES WITH THE KEYLESS REMOTE NOT LOCKING OR UNLOCKING ALL THE DOORS OR LATCHES. NEWEST ELECTRICAL ISSUE IS A SHORT IN THE RAMBOX WIRING CAUSING A FIRE WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD. COMPLETELY BURNED AND DESTROYED WIRING IN REAR OF RAMBOX BURNED THROUGH THE PLASTIC AND WARPED THE BOX DOOR.

DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND NO POLICE REPORTED WAS TAKEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A REPRESENTATIVE WAS SENT TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE AND NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND WITH THE VEHICLE. THE LOCAL DEALER AUTONATION DODGE (21777 KATY FREEWAY, KATY TX.) WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
