Was in a head on vehicle collision with another vehicle and none of my airbags deployed
Hit a very large cow early in the morning going about 40-45 mph. Not one single airbag deployed. There was no indication that they wouldn't work. The seatbelt was the only thing that kept him was going anywhere... If the airbags had gone off his head and neck wouldn't of snapped forward. We have police report pictures and can get insurance report. Contacted Ram and they said there wasn't anything they could do. After a year of doctors I contacted Ram back and still nothing they can do.

There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for a diagnostic test and repair because the failure was not covered under warranty, and the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V812000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000. The contact stated that they that have no complaints and the defect is not on their vehicle.

The contact pulled off the roadway. The contact observed a steering wheel with an exclamation point illuminated and a message to take the vehicle in for service was displayed. The contact stated that as he stopped, with the engine on, the warning lights turned off and the steering functionality returned. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but had occurred several times and always at slow speeds while turning. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. Sometimes it shifts into neutral while vehicle is in operation, on its own. Sometimes when cold (not reached normal operating temperature, the transmission sticks in fourth gear while down shifting. I can feel and hear the downshift from 4th to first while I am decelerating. This causes the transmission to jump into neutral. The "DANGER" is when the transmission jumps into neutral while I am in the intersection or about to merge onto a busy roadway. I have to come to a complete stop (in an intersection or merge lane), shift the truck into park, then to drive. I have taken my truck to the dealer four times since 2019 regarding this matter. The dealer claims there are no codes, unable to recreate scenario, hence no repair made.
Wheel bearings
The rear window has cracks in the plastic surround and is leaking over the sliding glass window. Water is coming into the cab
When I turn a full 90 degree left or right, a message pops up on my dash saying power steering service required for about a second then goes away. Sometimes the vehicle steering will lock up while driving. Sometimes when the vehicle is started the message appear again but goes away after a minute. The error does not show up with diagnostic tools.
Electrical system failed. A new battery was installed 1 month ago and on 10/28/23, I went to start the truck and it hesitated but started up then I lost power and it would not start again. I had it jumped and the service auto start/stop light, check engine and battery light came on. I pulled out from work and the engine hesitated. After proceeding over an overpass, I went to make a left hand turn onto the highway and a message came up indicating the power steering system had failed, the emergency brake came on and I again experienced a loss of power. I was able to get it to the side of the road on the on ramp where it shut down completely and had to be towed. Due to the loss of power steering, I was almost hit by an oncoming vehicle headed in the opposite direction. The engine also hesitated after starting, the RPM's were spiking to 4K every few seconds and it was producing a clicking sound before my initial departure. The vehicle was towed to Moyer Ram in Lebanon, PA pending an evaluation. In the past, this vehicle was in the shop 4 times for almost getting me in an accident as the vehicle would lose speed and the RPM's would spike and slow the vehicle down to less than 30 miles per hour. This happened several times and despite a dispute pursuant to the lemon laws and multiple videos showing what was happening, they ruled against replacing the vehicle. At one point on a local interstate, while traveling over 65mph's, it was like it slipped into neutral, I lost speed rapidly and was almost rear ended by a tractor trailer. I still have that problem 1-2 times/month but they will do nothing about it and the mechanic couldn't replicate the problem while the dealer had it. Bottom line is I do not feel safe in this vehicle and it's an accident waiting to happen.
Driving in normal conditions and front sunroof panel just exploded.
While parking the tailgate opens, when I closed it and tried to open it the electronic tailgate handle would not unlock to open 10/25/2023. When parked overnight tailgate opens 10/25/2023. While driving on Interstate the tailgate opens and I almost caused an multiple car accident, I parked at idle closed tailgate tried to reopen and it would not unlock, I drove off and it dropped again 10/26/2023. At Chapman Chrysler Dodge Jeep 89014, I parked in the service drive informing the service advisor something is wrong with my tailgate, and it dropped in-front of the advisor, he closed it and tried to open it and it wouldn’t open, while he was making my appointment it dropped again 10/27/2023. I have contacted the FCA Recall Spoke to Delroy he said my vehicle wasn’t part of the recall, and with 23,534.5 miles it was out of base warranty, he said I have power train coverage, gave me a Case # [XXX] he told me to cancel my 7:00am appointment 10/28/2023 and wait for a correlating response so I didn’t have to pay. I explain to him my vehicle is doing exactly what the Recall has outlined. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Dash instrument cluster digital screen malfunction. While driving the other day I noted a lag with the digital screen in the instrument cluster. Thought nothing of it at first attempted to see if fuse was bad or if it needed to be updated. Nothing was found. Today while on my drive into work I have noticed the screen is getting worse, lag is increasing and now the brightness of the screen is low. Attempted to adjust brightness with knob and nothing. I am afraid that if the digital screen the displays any warning lights, mileage, fuel level, and safety devices goes out. I will not be able to correct/remedy the problem. Which could result in a possible fire or crash due to a system failure.
The component lights came on advising they cannot be used along with a check engine light. I took it to the dealership, which I have the Mopar lifetime warranty. They hooked it up to the computer and charged 800 dollars for a software update and said it is not covered under warranty unless its a safety issue. All of these systems are safety items installed in the vehicle which I rely upon. It is a safety issue when not in use because of a software update that one must pay for.
SEE ATTACHED NOTE REGARDING THE 3.6 PENSTAR ENGINE DEFECT.
I have an oil cooler leak, a radiator leaking coolant , transmission running high. I have 110k miles on my truck and do routine maintenance. I’m worried about an engine fire or cracked block soon.
Electric power steering service causing safety issues due to no power steering! Lost power steering on highway during rush hour and dealer won't cover it. Out of warranty.
While at a stop waiting to turn truck would not move. Saw a message on dashboard “ shift into park and select desired gear. This has happened more than once. Later that day I lost all power. Engine shutdown, no power steering or brakes. Message stated “ Place into park and restart engine “. Truck is hard to start. No accident either time. Dealer is an hour away. Afraid to drive it to have it checked. Ram blogs show I’m not the only one with this happening. Will someone get hurt? If I lived in a more populated area I would say yes. Someone will. A family with children would be hard to deal with.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The dashboard instrument cluster of my 2019 RAM 1500 Gen 5, Longhorn model, is completely inoperable (went blank). This poses a safety issue to the driver as it provides important safety readings like velocity, fuel levels, RPMs, engine temperature, and distance traveled, etc. Roadways have a designated maximum speed. Meeting the speed limit is difficult if you can't read your speedometer. You can receive a citation for driving too fast, or worst, you risk getting into an accident. Not being able to read your engine temperature is vital to the life of your engine, it may pose a dangerous situation, as your engine can overheat. When I contacted the dealer, they advised that it is a common issue and that the Manufacturer is aware. The dealer advised that they couldn't duplicate the problem, when I took my truck to the dealer, as my cluster was working at the time. The instrument cluster turns on and off intermittently. The map light of the truck also stopped working. I disconnected the overhead light assembly, disconnected and connected the modules and they seem to work for now.
The contact's grandson owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while her grandson was driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate ajar warning light illuminated intermittently, causing her grandson to pull to the side of the road several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the tailgate striker was misaligned. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V904000 (Structure) however, the VIN was not included. Additionally, the contact stated that her grandson had informed her that while driving at low speeds and making a sharp turn, the steering wheel shuddered. The dealer determined that an unknown software update needed to be performed. The contact related the failure to TSB Number: 08-137-21. The dealer charged a fee for both repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.
Rear view camera glitches on occasion. When it does, I receive a solid blue screen or the video image is dark and distorted with red and green pixelation.
Hard to fuel the vehicle. Takes 15 minutes or more to fill the gas tank. Ram's fix is to replace the gas tank on a 4 year old truck with under 60,000 miles. Filling up using a funnel at a gas station is not safe for me or other drivers. The local dealer said the cost would about $2000. A service notice was issued over a year ago.
When turning to left vehicle will say power steering unavailable and stop working intermittently and the rear end howls.
Left rear shock absorber reservoir broke and fell from the vehicle. It appears the weldment is defective. Had this happened while traveling at highspeed the reservoir tank could have caused serious damage, injury or death. The uploaded picture shows the left shock above with the missing reservoir tank. The right shock has the mfg information.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while making a turn, the vehicle accelerated very quickly after the brake pedal was released. Several warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the parts for the repair was currently on back order. The failure mileage was approximately 45,144.
The contact owns 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while refueling the vehicle, the fuel overflowed from the filler neck. The contact then stated that water had leaked into the fuel tank. The check engine warning light illuminated. A message displayed on the instrument panel “catastrophic failure to the vehicle if failed to stop”. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic using an OBD code reader and retrieved codes: P0300, P0456, P0455 and P1DF3 and diagnosed that the fuel pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. An undisclosed dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Failure point - Cracked back glass frame and gasket which allowed water to leak into the cab and onto the radio frequency module causing it to corrode. When raining the vehicle started on its own while I was sitting inside it. While driving to the mechanic the vehicle wouldn’t shift out of first gear. While driving multiple service systems lights came on along with service airbag system warning. The issue was confirmed by the dealership. The dealership replaced the failed parts along with the third break light for no apparent reason. There was never a mention of there being issue with it. Warning lamps were on however the lamps wouldn’t stay on due to the electrical issue.
While driving down the highway i received a message in my dash that my power steering was no longer available. I was in a slight curve (not too bad). The steering was instantly hard to move the wheel. It was not too alarming. Then the warning went away and the power steering resumed immediately. Then the pressure that i was using was too much and my truck started swerving until i could regain control of it. Now the power steering is going in and out almost every time i drive it. While the whole thing is dangerous the most worrisome part is the fact that the power steering returns when i am turning causing a jerk to the vehicle depending on what curve i am in at the time.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a casa was opened. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 164,000.
My Ram Rebel 1500 is once again in the shop for repair of broken manifold bolts. They have had my vehicle for 4 days now on this repair and multiple days on the previous broken manifold bolt repair. This is a continual problem with Ram 1500’s. I asked if they could put a better bolt in and they said no because the warranty covers certain bolts. So, I said I can expect this to happen again and only hope it is still under warranty? And the answer was basically, yes. The first time the bolts broke the mileage was around 40,000 i believe. The second time it is 51,000.
Power steering went out while attempting to back up.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. Electronics failed while driving at 70 mph all dashboard electronics failed and all warning lights lit up. Speedometer reading went to zero while driving. Brought to Acadiana Dodge Lafayette LA. They said they found a loose nut on starter and said battery was weak (false). Changed battery and charged $382.83 for services. Drove for about35 minutes and did it again. No change. Dodge needs to repair this. I have heard multiple complaints about this, so surprising no recall notice??? I have a video of dash while driving…

Water pump failure at 70,xxx miles, caused coolant to spray throughout the engine bay which will cause premature rusting and/failure of other components.
The side view mirror motors/gears malfunction and intermittently fail to hold the mirrors in position when driving after the have been folded in them back out, either manually or electronically.
I HAVE WATER ENTERING THE CAB BY THE UPPER BRAKE LIGHT AT THE BACK OF THE CAB. THE WATER IS MAKING WATER STAINS ON THE HEAD LINER AND THE WATER IS SATURATING THE AIR CURTAINS ABOVE THE REAR WINDOW. IT IS ALSO MAKING THE FLOOR WET AND THE ELECTRICAL WIRES AND COMPONENTS ON THE FLOOR. I ALSO HEAR AIR LEAKS AROUND THE DOOR SEALS WHEN I AM DRIVING ENTERING CURVES AND TURNS. IT SEEMS LIKE THE CAB, OR DOORS SHIFT BREAKING THE DOOR SEALS ALOWING AIR TO ENTER. I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 46775 MILES ON IT IT CURRENTLY HAS 54465 MILES ON IT. SOMETHING IS DEFINETLY WRONG. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
Every time I turn on my truck my steering wheel locks out for 15-20 minutes not allowing me to turn my tires. After waiting for the “service power steering” warning sign goes away it’ll then unlock allowing me to drive.
Due to a known but unaddressed defect in the steep-angled fuel filler neck, it’s almost impossible to fill my tank with gas because the defect causes the gas pump to stop the flow of gasoline every few seconds. Also, the gas pump handle can sometimes become stuck while trying to refill the truck. This cause a very dangerous situation in trying to remove the stuck handle due to the possibility of creating a spark which could ignite the gasoline vapors from trying to forcefully dislodge the pump handle. The NHTSA, to my knowledge, has not requested the manufacturer to initiate a recall to replace the defective part. This problem has been widely discussed online in different forums. My truck has been at the dealership all week and the service department just called me saying I need to order a new fuel tank at the cost of $1925.00!
