This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

While driving, the steering gets really tight, feeling like the power steering is going to fail. Sometimes it is much worse than others. It is intermittent. No warning lights and no messages at all. We called V & H for service, they'd fix it but wouldn't look into the recall for other 2019 1500 Ram trucks. Our vehicle does not have the recall, but we would like to see about expanding the recall for us to be included or even have Chrysler help with the cost of the repair since it was a known issue with the 2019 1500 Ram trucks.
On March, while I was leaving to take my children to school, I discovered a loud, heavy metallic knocking sound coming from the engine of my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. As I depressed the gas pedal, the knocking frequency increased immediately with the engine RPMs. Prior to this total failure, I had noticed the truck feeling hesitant and "stuttering" when I was trying to accelerate from red lights in the days leading up to the incident. Because I was concerned the engine would stall or fail completely while my children were in the vehicle, I immediately stopped driving it. A subsequent inspection at Don White’s CDJR confirmed DTC P051B-00 (Crankcase Pressure Sensor Performance). This fault is a recognized indicator of excessive crankcase pressure, which NHTSA has identified as a precursor to sudden engine stalling and fire risks in 3.0L EcoDiesel engines (Ref: Recall 19V-757).
First off the service shifter keeps coming on and off every time I take it to the dealership it’s off so they can’t read the code. Then the parking sensors keep coming on saying unavailable. Today when the service shifter came on, it went right back off and then when I went to turn onto the highway it felt like the truck stalled for a second then it started driving normal again and down the road. The service shifter light came back on, then went off. All recalls have been fixed on this vehicle and when I took it in and was charged $300 for a diagnostic, they couldn’t figure out what was wrong because the light wasn’t on anymore.
Has happened 5 times, I also replaced the battery with a new one. Cargo light switch cuts on by itself and drains battery.Issues with rear camera after battery was charged. Also CarPlay doesn’t work sometimes.
Hello my name is [XXX] , current owner of a 2019 Ram 1500 classic vin# [XXX] On 3-20-2026 As I was driving on I-10 with my family on the 3rd lane driving steady on a stop and go traffic. My vehicle lost complete power shutting down giving me little time to pull off to the left media. When I came to a full stop I immediately shift gear to parking and turned ignition key off. I proceeded to restart the engine but wouldn’t start. As I noticed a red bolt like light on the cluster no sound of any engine or click nothing at all . On the 3rd attempt the engine successfully turned on and proceeded to driving. My primary question to my concern is if there’s any possible recalls related to this issue? The truck is out of warranty. I spoke to a Ram service adviser [XXX] at [XXX] and states mopar wont cover into fixing the problem the because it’s an 7 year old vehicle and out of warranty . I would have to pay for the diagnostic of $190 . I after my research on google facts that there’s been recalls on this matter on 2019 rams . I shouldn’t be charged for a diagnosis if this a recall matter. Thank you in advance for correspondent and taking the time to read my concern. Sincerely [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
complete power steering failure upon starting the truck-truck is very difficult to steer warning lamp appeared in dash immediately cruise control doesnt always come on without smacking the backside of button on steering wheel
On or around March 12 2026 The drivers front tire air suspension and compressor both went out causing tire to drop which meant it was rubbing the finder well it has been taken to a dealership and confirmed No warning lamps or warnings visible to me appeared on the truck just noticed the change in how it was driving and noticed the significant drop in tire
Rear differential started making loud noise and grinding sounds
The backup camera sometimes doesnt show the lines. also the camera sometimes glitches while backing up. And the infotainment system sometimes wont let the music out of the speakers even turning off and on the stereo/truck.
My ABS module went out in my 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel.. My service “Electronic stability control” , “Service Trailer Brake System”, as well as “Service 4WD” lights are all on.. i had Auto Zone hook the computer up to my truck and it had 2 codes. C2206-00: Vehicle Configuration Mismatch and U0403-00 Implausible Data Received From T-Case. ABS module failure. I did some online research and come to find out there was a recall on my model truck for the ABS system needed updated.. I check my VIN online and says there are no recalls on my truck.. I’m having the exact problems stated in the recall and have the exact model stated in the recall. I was never notified about the recall. My truck only has 68,000 miles on it. NHTSA Recall # 24V-653. I don’t understand why my VIN wasn’t included in the recall. Thank you for your time
While traveling at a high rate of speed, the power steering light came on, and the steering wheel locked up and became almost impossible to turn. After pulling over and turning the vehicle off, the problem went away. But only to have the problem happen again, twice more creating unsafe driving conditions.
Rear power sliding window leak caused by cracked backlite
Went to do the 10000 mile maintenance, after the oil change and changing all the filters. The truck wouldn’t start, had a mechanic look at it and he said it’s a faulty fuel pump. Called the dealership as there is a recall for that part and it was serviced less than two years ago. So it’s covered under that and the recall warranty. The dealership is refusing to fix the truck, Chrysler customer care in Canada says it’s the U.S. office’s problem and they have to do it. U.S. office says I have to find a broker to switch the marketplace to the U.S.. Have called 40 places and no one including the dealerships knows what they are talking about with the broker. So now I have a truck I’ve owned for less than six months that needs possibly a 3000 dollar repair. That they should be doing free of charge.
Incident Description: I am reporting three recurring safety hazards with my 2019 Ram 1500. 1. Intermittent ABS/ESC Error: The vehicle recently displayed an ABS error message on the dashboard. The error cleared itself after the vehicle was power-cycled (shut off and restarted). This intermittent failure of the Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Control is a severe safety risk, as the system could fail during an emergency braking event. My VIN is currently excluded from Recall 24V-653, despite my vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms described. 2. Unintended Forward Lunging: Before reaching operating temperature (cold start), the truck abruptly lunges forward while idling or under light braking. This occurs without driver input and has been reported by numerous other Ram owners as a cause for rear-end collisions. 3. "Shift into P than Desire Gear" Error: While coming to a stop, the dashboard displays "Shift into P than Desire Gear," and the transmission slips into Neutral. This causes a sudden loss of motive power in traffic. I am aware of reports where this has caused vehicles to "lock up" or stall at higher speeds. Safety Risk: The combination of an unpredictable transmission (lunging/slipping to neutral) and an intermittent ABS failure makes this vehicle unsafe to operate. The manufacturer's current recall list for the 2019 model year is clearly incomplete, as my vehicle is suffering from these documented defects but remains ineligible for a recall repair.
While drivinh ABS module stopped working in 2019 Ram 1500, found out their is a recall but my vehicle is not included....The OEM module is back ordered since Covid....This is unacceptable because that tells me this is a common problem and should be addressed.
Power steering seems to have stopped all fuses have been checked. Wiring is checked steering is underwhelming and very hard to turn at low and high speeds.
The alternator/generator (part #68623194AC) stopped working and rendered the car undriveable. This happened while we were driving. It is available for inspection. The problem has been confirmed. The car started making a terrible noise prior to all of the lights coming on and it becoming undrivable.
Our 2019 Ram 1500 has less than 40,000 miles but now diagnosed with Internal Failure in ABS Module and Hydraulic control. There is currently no ABS recall linked to our VIN but a similar ABS recall covers our 2019 truck year and Ram 1500 truck model (24V-653). Dealership and Stellantis Recall support cannot help and declined our request for appeal on this. We are told we can later apply for reimbursement if a recall is later issued - but this problem should be investigated.
The truck has two issues that may be related. The third brake light leaks water. they tried to fix it, it happened again. The leaks have ruined my upholstery of the back seats. They have an extended warranty for this but it should be a recall. I believe the leak also is effecting my push button (electrical issues), the car won't start. It just clicks and you have to remove the battery or do weird things to make it start again. I think the leak may be connected because there is a computer on the bottom of the rear window floor that keeps getting wet. The push button to turn the car on is a major pain and it happens at random times or after lots of rain. It can leave you stranded for an half hour or days. It also affects the power roof. I can't open/close the power roof without doing crazy things. The push button start is reported by thousands online. Dodge charges 50k and cannot provide basic start button that don't leave you stranded.
My 2019 ram 1500 started showing an intermittent warning light on the dash that said check check trailer brake, although I was not towing anything. I continued on my 20 minute commute and parked the vehicle to which point I noticed smoke towards the back of the vehicle. I inspected to see a small fire that apparently had started at the trailer tow module that had shorted and ignited the insulation and surrounding plastics. I was able to extinguish the fire with minimal damage to the truck, mainly the plastic paneling and the wiring and associated components were damaged. I'm reporting this because a vehicle fire is a significant safety concern and I'm probably not the first to have had this happen. I have made no aftermarket adjustments to my towing system and I've only owned the vehicle approximately over a year. The vehicle has about 83,000 miles on it currently.
