gasoline leaking from top of gas tank
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the rearview camera failed to display the image in his vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the screen was delaminating and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 32,983.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SCREEN IS BLANK THIS SCREEN DISPLAYS BASICALLY EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF. WHEN IT'S BLANK YOU'RE DRIVING BLIND. IT HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BECAUSE IT IS BLANK. HAVE FILED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH FCA. NO WARNING MESSAGES------IT JUST SIMPLY QUIT WORKING.
Battery went dead, display showed power steering failure and the check engine light was on. I had the code read and it was P1DF3
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, the pump would constantly shut-off independently before the tank was full. The contact would constantly squeeze the handle to continue fueling the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring increasingly and it would take 15-20 minutes to refill 4-5 gallons of fuel. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to bring the vehicle to their location for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
My wipers sound like they are grinding when i use them, and are very slow. To the point to where it seems like the wipers motor is quiting. My visibility when it rains will be close to 0 if it is not repaired.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at speeds below 35 MPH, the power steering malfunctioned and the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
Not sure if these are both related, went to get in car and was locked out, towed to dealership where they replaced the BCN, went to pick up and vehicle was dead, had to have it towed back into the garage at the dealership where they replaced the battery almost $1,000. Still did not fix the issue and they said it could be the instrument cluster. The problem started on a trip when we smelled smoke, the instrument cluster kept going in and out until it finally quit which did not allow me to see any vital information, the RAM emblem continues to blink gray and black which causes me to take my eyes off the road. This is a safety hazard, I can't read anything and do not know the gas remaining, the mileage on the truck, and a lot of other data. I have been told not only did I waste the money fixing something that was not wrong that now there is a tech service bulletin on this issue and noone has reached out to the RAM owners because only one person has reported it. I would not have known to report the issue had I not read on the internet. This is a concerning issue, the smoke smell scared me and I had to park my truck, it continued spontaneously throughout the trip until it finally stopped. I didn't realize how much information you can lose with an instrument panel. How many miles to get the oil changed, etc.
Bolts holding the exhaust manifold to the engine block had broken on both sides. This led to a ticking sound coming from the engine bay while the vehicle was running
Rear window structure frame cracks prematurely causing structural damage due to water leaking through into the cab of the truck. This defective backlite by RAM 1500 has been leaking causing the rear window visibility to be affected by fogging up too easily and water dripping through the windows frame on to the inside of the window, also the vehicle is equipped with a battery pack behind the rear seat and if left to get wet will cause failures and damage to vehicle electrical system. The vehicle has been inspected and confirmed by the Ram certified dealership. Manufacture has been informed of this ongoing issue and has issued prior TSB cases for this defect. No prior issues with rear window prior to noticing the faulty cracked window frame. It appears this has been happening to several ram 1500 from years 2019-2022 this should not be happening on a like new 2 year old well taken care of vehicle
Rear Differential began to grind and make noise. Dealer stated could cause failure and lead to crash if not repaired/replaced. Full diagnosis not complete as of this date.
When I was driving roughly 25 to mph I lost all power. Engine was still rubbing and revving because I was pressing the gas but I lost all power to accelerate and no check engine lights were in. All guards were fine and I have over 3/4 of a tank of gas. I have noticed upon acceleration at random times I will have difficultly accelerating. I heard a loud knocking at which time the dealer said it was a lifter. I took it to an independent shop after the service tech Andrew told me it’s a smart motor and will correct itself so no need to make any repairs. I was told at the independent repair shop that I had a manifold problem and they replace the manifold. But today noticed again I’ve lost power and unable to accelerate while going 49 mph. Again told by Andrew that it’s a smart engine and will correct itself however it’sa safety issue when driving the freeway
I cannot properly refuel my tank. It takes me 25 minutes to fill 5 gallons of gas. The pump keeps shutting off like it thinks my car is full. All gas station pump are doing the same thing. Also my Navi goes off course. Sirius XM says my location is one place according to their system but I am 200 miles away. They say it shows it is working on their end but there is clearly an electrical or navigation glitch with my car.
Wipers stopped working while driving. It was snowing lightly but enough that it was dangerous without working wipers!
Turned left into a parking lot, approximately 10-15 mph, and the engine unexpectedly shuts off. Electric parking brake engaged and all warning dash lights came on. If the person behind me was not paying attention they would have collided with me. Was able to start the truck and drive into the parking lot. After searching forums online, this seems to be a common problem with no solution or acknowledgement from the manufacturer.
The key fobs would not work to unlock or start the vehicle. After two weeks with the Woodland, CA Hoblit dealership, it was determined that two cracks in the rear windshield led to electrical damage under the backseat where the key fobs connect to an electrical sensor. This caused the truck to be non-operational and requiring it to be towed. According to the dealership, they have now seen three recent cases of the same cracks in the rear windshield. When it rains heavy, more of these trucks will no longer become operational. If this went out while driving, the vehicle would not be able to operate, causing an unsafe situation for all drivers on the road. There was no warning. It rained and the cracks were not noticed as they blend into the design of the rear windshield.
At low speed usually coming to a stop truck shifts to natural dash indicates to "shift to park" once shifting to park and back to drive truck moves normally. The truck has had this happened numerous times. I reached out to ram care and they advised me to have it scanned at a service dealer. I had the vehicle scanned and no issues were reported. Since then the truck had switched gears at low speed to natural and shift to park . This is dangerous and safety is one of the feature of this vehicle and this can cause many issues to safety to myself or other drivers.
The Driver's seatback broke last year and now has broken a 2nd time. The vehicle has never been in an accident and has never been used off-road. I have contacted the dealer in the matter and they have dismissed my concerns this first seat broke at a weld and the 2nd seat has the same symptoms less than a year later.
Parked, sprayed windshield with washer fluid, liquid streamed down inside of windshield (leak) in three separate locations.
5.7 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel with MDS engine stop with low MPH and turning onto oncoming traffic. I was not accelerating, nor applying the brake. Just slowly rolling into a left turn. It has happened about 4 times and usually during a U-turn. Only two options to get it out of condition during oncoming traffic!!! 1) Engine dies, apply the brake, shift to park, release the parking brake, shift to drive 2) While still rolling in turn, engage/turn the shifter to neutral and lightly touch the brake pedal, the engine will start, then shift into drive
The center screen of the instrument cluster blacked out and only comes on once every few weeks. The truck is available for inspection anytime. It is unsafe for my family to drive the vehicle without the instrument cluster. We are unable to see any warning lights, unable to see current mileage, and unable to rely on cruise control/ auto braking. Without warning indicators we will be unaware of faulty components and could put other drivers and or pedestrians in harm. I was unable to tag vehicle in KS on my first attempt because I could not prove mileage on vehicle. Dealer has seen and confirmed issue. Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives but I am willing to have it inspected anytime. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to the instrument cluster failure. The instrument cluster went blank in October 2021 and comes on once or twice per month randomly.
Recently I have been experiencing issues when I pump gas in my three year old truck. When I pump gas the nozzle won't fill it up automatically and continues to stop constantly that causes to take forever.
I stopped at the 4 way stop at Hill street and Apopka. I made a right hand turn down Hill St. I went to push on the brake and the complete brake pedal and arm fell off and landed on the floor of my truck. At this point there was no brake to push, I put the truck in neutral and moved right and used the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. I got the truck to Plaza Dodge and they replaced the entire braking system. Evidently after some research on my part there had been a recall for the same issue on 2019 Rams. But only for the classic model. Well it seems they need to have one for the new body style as well. I have all the parts if needed to be inspected. There was absolutely no warning, and if I had been anywhere else and traveling at a higher speed, I strongly believe someone may have been killed.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and making exclusively left turns, the steering wheel inadvertently locked in position, not allowing for movement of the steering wheel. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
The instrument cluster screen in the driver dashboard has gone completely blank. You cannot see the mileage on the truck or any of the information about the truck. I went to dealer who quoted $1300 to replace the screen. I was on the highway going 65mph when the screen went completely blank and I had no control over the cruise control. Luckily I was able to get the truck to stop. My concern is that when these screens go dead and you are using something like cruise control, you no longer can see anything happening in the vehicle when the screen goes dead. Ram has refused to fix the problem for me. This all started after I did an over the air update and it bricked my dashboard screen afterward.
On October 27, 2021 I was pulling into a parking lot at extremely low speed and upon turning heard a pop noise and felt a minimal jolt in the steering wheel. Letter in the day as I was leaving I turned right to come home and had the same experience. The next morning same thing at slow speed turning either left or right. Made appointment at dealer for first available date which was November 1, 2021. I received this from the dealer service team: Concern Critical Customer States There’S A Popping In The Front End Wall Turning Issue TEST DRIVE AND INSPECT FRONT SUSPENSION - PASSENGER FRONT SWAY BAR LINK WORN/SEPARATED DRIVER SIDE ALSO SHOWING SIGNS OF FAILING NEEDS BOTH REPLACED AND ALIGHNMENT Recommendation REPLACE SWAY BAR LINKS AND ALIGNMENT with an almost $1,300.00 repair bill. I was told this was not covered by my 5 year 60,000 mile warranty and that parts were back ordered and expected not until 11/24/2021. I started researching and located multiple forums that stated this was a known issue. I also spoke to a mechanic that stated this was not normal on a vehicle with under 60,000 miles. I was also told that if it separates it could cause an accident and possibly result in injury or death. My question is why has a recall not been made with this being a known issue. This vehicle I purchased new from this same dealer and had never been off road. I don’t understand the integrity of the design for a vehicle that is four wheel drive and should be built to perform off-road having this issue with no off road activity ever taking place. Could you please take a look into this since I was made aware that if I didn’t pay this large amount for the repair it could be a safety issue? Thanks for your review and looking into this matter.
I BOUGHT A 2109 RAM BIG HORN MAY 2020 NEW. SEPTEMBER 2022 WARNING SYSTEM SHOWED THE SHIFTER NEEDED SERVICE. TOOK IT IN TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF DEALERSHIP. IT TOOK THREE WEEKS TO GET IT BACK. THE NEXT MORNING THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START. HAD IT TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. FOUR WEEKS PASSED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS READY. DROVE IT HOME AND PARKED INDRIVEWAY. THE NEXT MORNING WOULD NOT START. THEY KEPT THE TRUCK FOR TWO MONTHS AND CALLED TO PICK IT UP. THENEXT MORNINGIT WAS DEAD AGAIN. SENT IT BACK. THEY KEPT IT FOR THREE MONTHS. THEY BROUGHT IT BACK ANDSAID THEY DON'TKNOWWHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I CHARGED THE BATTERY AND TOOK IT FOR TEST RUN AND THE DASH MESSAGE SYSTEM STARTED FLASHING MESSAGES THAT THIS WAS BROKE, THE TIRES WERE FLAT, SERVICE LIGHT FLASHED ON AND OFF, THE ENGINE SPUTTERED THEN RAN AGAIN. ALL MOST DID'T MAKE IT HOME. LAST TIME I DROVE IT. DEALERSHIP WILL NOT FIX.
The contact owns a 2019 RAM 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated that the power steering assist warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive to his destination. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V812000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.
While passing pushed pedal to floor and it stayed there. got to over 100 MPH before I hit the brakes hard and the over ride kicked in. Had to pull the pedal off the floor.
My wife was in an accident where she hydroplaned, struck center barrier cables, went head on into a guardrail and was flipped 180 degrees and not a single airbag deployed.
Steering control While driving higher then 40 MPH the steering stick both right and left when going around a bend. This has caused 2 oversteering events with out accidents or injuries. This will be much more dangerous during inclement weather, especially snow. The dealer or service has not been contacted as of yet, nor have the parts been inspected. No working lamps were illuminated. This vehicle is a Certified Preowned that was purchased out of state. The problem was noted during the ride home after picking up then vehicle. Originally I thought it was the tires, it was not.
When making right and left turns at slow speeds, I hear a buzzing noise and vibration in the steering wheel. I also feel a slight clunk when shifting between 2nd and 3rd gear. I'm afraid if I keep driving with this issue, this may cause a possible lost of steering/control.
The headlights will flicker. Coming off a stop the parking break would flash as a failure and not available. Goes on and off along with a few lights on the dash.
The instrument cluster has stopped working. I am no longer able to view things such as speed, tire pressure, oil life, warning lights and signals and more. This was functioning properly when I bought the truck but recently has gone blank for days and then came back on. It went out again about 5 days ago and has been out since. I have researched he'd online and in message boards and have seen many other cases of this happening with other Ram trucks.
Rear tailgate opens randomly while driving. Tailgate has power locks. Vehicle has short bed. Luckily my cargo has not fallen out but this could be a safety issue for people behind me or cause damage if I’m hauling a trailer.
My factory windshield cracked so I had to replace it, I decided to go with OEM for the replacement, after getting it replaced I noticed the windshield was distorted and had wavyness to it, I called and the guy said it must’ve been a defective windshield, he replaced it a second time and the same thing happened, I then thought maybe he was getting fake OEM glass so I contacted my dealer, they replaced it, low and behold the same problem, then a fourth time, yup the same problem, keep in mind these are OEM mopar windshields. it is very hard to focus on driving and very frustrating, something needs to be done because I have a feeling I am not the only one with this complaint for my truck.
I had the vehicle in park. When i shifter the knob to drive everything completely shut off. The screen said to press the petal and start the vehicle. It wouldn't do anything. After a bit i was able to press the ignition button a few times to cycle and start the vehicle.
I was driving down the hill on a state freeway and the engine completely shut off. The drive light was flashing but I was unable to do anything or even indicate with flashers or turn signal. I was able to move to the side of the road where I shut the key off. The car did not immediately restart. But after sitting for a bit, restarted and drove fine
Hello! I have had my 2019 RAM 1500 for 5 years now. I have called RamCare many times trying to get my problems resolved and they just keep saying my truck is not under the recalls. Both problems I have are exactly what the recalls are AND my manufacturing date on my truck shows that they SHOULD be covered, but for some reason the recall isnt attached to my truck VIN. 1: Cracked back window sliding frame. It is cracked in the EXACT spots thst show on the recall and my back window let's water leak in. 2: Tailgate opens on its own from being misaligned. Both have recall bulletins out that my truck 100% falls under, but for some reason, the recalls aren't attached to my VIN. I have called the dealer a few different times trying to get this resolved and they have still be unable to get them done. The dealership service managers have even told.me that my truck should DEFINITELY be under the two recalls and they dont understand why they aren't. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars the last couple years getting all kinds of things fixed on my truck AND I actually just dropped my truck off this evening to get new manifolds installed tomorrow! This is the SECOND time that I have had to get this done because the Mopar manifolds are junk and keep cracking! I just don't understand why RamCare can't just attached my VIN to the recalls so I can get them fixed like they should. The dealrrship even said they should! I have had Chrysler/Mopar vehicles for almost 20 years now!!! I have always been a very loyal customer. I just don't understand. I don't think it is fair at all.
2019 DODGE RAM. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ILLUMINATED SERVICE LIGHTS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE LIGHT, BATTERY LIGHT AND ADAPTABLE CRUISE CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, LEAKED A LIQUID, SMOKE EMITTED FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE DASHBOARD WENT DARK. ALSO THE TAILGATE OPENS INTERMITTENTLY, RADIO SHUTS OFF INDEPENDENTLY, VOLTS ARE READING LOW, AND BATTERY IS IN SAVER MODE.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the rear window frame fractured and caused water to penetrate the vehicle and damaged the wires located in the driver’s side rear passenger’s seat and rear passenger’s side seat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic replaced the rear window frame unit and glass. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 49,500.
I purchased my truck new in Nov 2019. Since then I have had four different occasions where my truck has stalled while driving at low speed or while shifting from drive to reverse. Two of the occasions I was pulling away from a stop and the truck stalled and I was stuck in the middle of the intersection until I put the truck in park and restarted. Luckily there was no cross traffic so there was no danger in this situation but it could have been much worse. The last occasion happened a couple weeks ago when I was moving my truck in my driveway. I shifted to drive and pulled forward then put my truck in reverse. As I put my truck in reverse it immediately stalled. I put it in park and was able to immediately restart it. However, it did have a check engine light on. The next morning I was going to take the truck to the dealer to have the light checked but it had cleared itself and there are no codes stored so the dealer can't do anything.
Airbags did not deploy in an accident where my vehicle rear ended a vehicle.
Instrument cluster comes on and off whenever it wants, leaves me in the dark without it while driving. Dealer states there’s nothing they can do except replace screen. This started after I had my truck serviced at a dealership and the dealer stated it was like this when they got it. Everything worked great until I had it serviced. Now it’s just dangerous to not have a dash that works.
The contact's son owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the power steering assist failed. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, and the dealer informed the contact's son that he needed to pay out of pocket for the diagnostic test. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V812000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The exhaust system builds up soot and causes the vehicle to malfunction or require excessive EGR cleaning. My vehicle has been in 4 times for the same issue. The dealership admitted they have had many of the same vehicles in for the same issue. It will freeze up when driving and prevent going forward. I have called Ram and they refuse to consider anything because my issue is a maintenance issue the dealership already told me should not be necessary until 60,000-90,000 miles and I should know it will need to be done every 10,000 miles if I do not drive more than I do. I was never informed of the issue when purchasing the vehicle brand new.
I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AT WORK AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP, LUCKILY I WAS GOING SLOW AND WAS ABLE TO STOP
The contact owned a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while inside of her residence the vehicle was parked in the driveway when without warning the vehicle independently engulfed with flames. The fire department was contacted and came out to the resident and extinguished the flames. A police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance adjuster who was contacted and came out to the resident. The vehicle was not towed. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that no recalls were under the VIN. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and started an investigation. Damages from the flames were done to the left side of the contact residents. The failure mileage was unknown at this time.
Brakes failed to stop truck from bumper to bumper accident, I would've stopped in time but the brakes felt like it was sliding, it wasn't not stopping the truck. I had to quickly release the brake and try again but still manage to hit the truck in front of me. I noticed when I'm drive all day (especially in the heat) by the end of the day when I am using the brake, it takes longer to brake than it did earlier in the day. I assuming the brakes are overheating. Of course I am at fault for the bumper to bumper accident, claim number 31-22T8-87X with State Farm.
