UNKNOWN GOT IN THE TRUCK, started it and it idled for about one minute, then every single light or electronic started flashing, with the pace of the hazard lights, which the hazard lights stayed on, no matter how many times I pushed the hazard buttons, and the horn was blowing lightly also, about 2 minutes of this , I turned the truck off, came out the next day and it was completely dead, no electricity at all! Charged battery( which is new by the way) and it fired right up! But now it’s extremely sluggish, missing and jerking, the electronics in these are garbage! Looks great but who wants something that is advertised Wi-Fi available!! Ha not on the 2020 models!!! I’ve got the big screen! Call att, they say there’s an issue with ram, so I’m not happy! And this the only vehicle I have to transport my family
While driving from Abilene, tx to Houston, tx on [XXX] my vehicle displayed intermittently several warning message. The first message said idle-stop was unavailable and lasted for about 30 minutes. The second message was displayed in red and stated the electric steering was inoperative and lasted for about 10-30 seconds and it was definitely harder to turn the steering wheel. Vehicle steering locked while driving at highway speed, dealer tested system and replaced a can bus switch. Upon driving home from dealership (after fixing) the steering once again failed. Luckily no one was injured. We did get a warning steering failed only after the steering locked and was immobile. This is the most critical part of a vehicle and should not fail in under 50,000 miles and fail to the point of uncontrollable. This is a horrible design, someone is going to get killed if this does not get addressed and Stellantis recalls these faulty components.
On [XXX] while exiting [XXX] at [XXX] and [XXX] , The steering wheel on my 2020 RAM 1500 completely locked up. There were no prior warnings—no dashboard lights, unusual sounds, or other indications of a problem. It wasn’t until I had significantly slowed down that I was able to apply enough force to get the vehicle into a nearby shopping center. The dashboard warning light did not appear until my vehicle was almost stopped. The dashboard error messaged indicated there was a "Power Steering Failure." Following this incident, I took the vehicle to the nearest CDJR dealership. The vehicle intake was handled by the Service Advisor advised that it may be the steering rack. The following week, we were advised that the vehicle was ready for pick-up and the service technician diagnosed the issue as an internal fault in the instrument panel switch bank. The switch bank was replaced per service protocols, diagnostic codes were cleared, and the system was thoroughly tested. The technician confirmed that the problem had been resolved. However, on [XXX], after retrieving the vehicle from the dealership, I experienced another alarming failure. While traveling at approximately 65-70 MPH, my steering wheel suddenly locked AGAIN. At that moment, I was surrounded by traffic, including an 18-wheeler next to me. The situation was life-threatening, and I feared for my safety. My thoughts were immediately consumed with concern for my daughter and husband as I fought to maintain control of the vehicle. Fortunately, I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop, but the experience was nothing short of terrifying. A week has passed, and I am still deeply shaken by the event and appears it may be the rack after all. Other owners have reported similar failures with the RAM 1500's power steering system and is not an isolated case. It poses a grave risk, and is not an isolated case. It poses a grave risk, not only to the driver but to all motorists on the road. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Vehicle randomly says "shift to park" after making soft turns like going in a uturn under a bypass . Once the speed drops under 5mph, the truck then puts vehicle in park, and turns off. Dealership could not find the problem. Mechanics are unsure. Ongoing for 3 years. Very unsafe.
Vehicle was involved in a front end collision and was determined to be a total loss . None of the air bags deployed
The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500 The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System Gasoline, Engine) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The sun visor retention plastic broke. Now the sun visor falls down obstructing vision and view of oncoming traffic while driving. This happens frequently. Trying to place the sun visor back while driving is difficult. Trying to hold the visor out of your field of vision while safely controlling the vehicle to a stop is difficult. The falling down of the visor is a serious safety hazard to anyone near a vehicle with this malfunction.
Driver and passenger manifolds Have cracked now 3 times on the passenger side and 1 time in the drivers side. Inhale had the last passenger side replaced under warranty and now they will not honor the warranty on the replaced manifold.
Power steering going out intermittently while driving

My screen is delaminating on a 4 year old vehicle. This should not be happening and was told by my local Dodge dealership that it is not covered under a warranty, nor my extended warranty or a recall. This is poor manufacturing. My vehicle does not sit in direct sunlight.

On July 5th 2024, I attempted to open /pull down the Tailgate. Was not able to pull the Tailgate down. I purchased the Vehicle on January 10, 2024. This is the first occurrence of the Tailgate being inoperable. No interior Lights, flashing signal to indicate Tailgate inoperable. I looked Online and entered my Truck Information. Several sites have Posted, Noted, Documented Reports of Faulty Tailgate pertaining 2019 - 2022 Dodge Ram's Tailgates that have been listed for recall
Has just over 80,000 miles and the Ram dealer is telling me it need a new transmission. Code P0733000 3rd gear ratio issue. Will be driving it will hard shift into 3rd gear and then get stuck in 3rd until I stop and turn the truck on and off. When I do that it works fine. Check engine light comes on for a couple starts then goes off.

The bags or compressor failed. Dealer could not diagnose which is a common problem. They just change parts and charge you until it’s corrected. Safety factor is off the charts because it makes it undrivable if it loses pressure with no warning. No lights or warning and front will slowly lose pressure until it bottoms out
I am submitting a report regarding the hacking of my vehicle that has persisted over the past five years. I have previously stated that my scammer, [XXX] , along with her associates, continues to remotely manipulate the gear of my vehicle while I am driving. Furthermore, they are targeting the lighting and dome lights in my vehicle in an attempt to jeopardize my safety. Additionally, the manufacturer experienced a data breach in September 2025. Please feel free to contact me at [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
So I am driving on the freeway 70mph and I get a message on my dash that says service shifter then every single light on the dash came on and started to make a beeping noise. I pulled over on the side of the freeway and then all the lights dissappear except check engine. I continued to drive to next exit and this time all lights came on again and truck appeared to be shutting off and turning back on while driving, steering wheel got hard to move all while all lights turning on, on dash. I have taken to shop 3 times first time they told me it was battery so I purchased battery and diagnostic fee for 600. Still continued to have issues even after replacing battery. Then they tell me they don't know what's causing this issue and the truck hasn't been fixed. I'll let the truck sit a few days and check engine light is gone and it will drive normal until the issues pops up again. I just don't know what to do about issue and have lost hope nobody seems to know what's causing thr issue. I have videos of this happening multiple times and I show to shops and they are just im awe and can't figure out what is happening. This happened to me yesterday 4/25/25 and while driving the truck started to show all lights on dash and immediately put itself into park while I was driving about 20 mph. Turned the truck off and started it back on again and got the service shifter message and drove home slowly and truck sat in driveway. I've taken in the truck multiple times and nobody seems to know what is causing the issue and I'm tired of spending money things they believe it to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are starting to lose hope on this vehicle and are thinking about letting get repossessed as it's not useful to us if it can't be fixed
The electronic power steering has stopped working three times in the last couple of weeks. It stops working and will stay out for 15 to 30 seconds or until the truck is shut off and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a local RAM dealer, and they advised that could not find any failure codes in the history. When the power steering cuts out the dashboard displays a warning to service the power steering. The vehicle is extremely had to steer when the power steering cuts out. When I picked up the vehicle at the dealer, they completed an oil change and recall on the tailgate but there was no mention of the main reason I took the vehicle in for service which was the loss of power steering. The service writer stated he did not list that since they did not charge me for the power steering diagnosis. If he listed, it there would be an additional charge on my bill. The loss of power steering is a safety hazard since it makes the vehicle very hard to steer and makes any turns or sudden changes in direction to avoid potential hazards impossible.
I was driving back from Montana and my passenger side sun visor disconnected and was hanging from the wire causing a visibility issue when driving. Approximately 1 year ago the same thing happened to my driver side sun visor. This also caused problems with visibility while driving because it wouldn't remain in the locked position. It would hang by the wires. Both times I had the visor replaced at the Dodge dealership in Prescott Az. I was told my the service advisor that it has been a problem and they have had to replace quite a few. I asked if they have fixed the problem and he stated that it hasn't and its still the original parts. This is going to lead to a serious car accident or death if this problem isn't resolved by Dodge.
The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH around a curve, the vehicle failed to turn properly. The contact stated that the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The contact was able to veer the vehicle to the shoulder. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
Pumping gas and it stops will not let me fill the tank after 2 or 4 the time taking the pump out it will spit gas at you has happened many times
Upon purchase brand new in 2020 with in a week a cylinder had to be replaced. Since then this truck has been in the shop for almost a year in total over the past 2.5 years. The recalled high pressure fuel pump went out at around 60k miles, this incident almost resulted in a major accident in the middle of the night as the power loss to the engine and brakes left me free rolling down the road into a stop light 4 way. When sent for repairs they had to replace the pump 6-7 times before they could give it back to me as well as the entire fuel system. The check engine light came on as I drive off and they had to replace the pump and other parts for the 8th time and kept it for another month. A couple months later the alternator went out and battery shorted on the freeway. And after that repair a few months later the alternator flooded with oil on the freeway in the middle of nowhere and the trucks dash lit up with electrical failure and check engine lights. This time the truck was repaired in 3 weeks and after 100 miles the engine blew completely on the freeway, I never made it home with the truck. They’ve had the truck at the dealership for 2 months the now and are quoting for a complete engine replacement at 72k miles on the eco diesel engine. This truck is a faulty piece of machinery and should not have ever been on the road. They can’t run the teuck for any testing as the engine will run away at max rpm when started.
Driver's side sun visor repeatedly comes loose from ceiling attachment causing the visor to drop into driver's sight line completely blocking forward view. It happens suddenly, often as I'm approaching a stop light, and is a massive safety concern. I have had several near misses where I've almost rear-ended cars in front of me. I reported the issue to the dealer at my last service and, while I was told this was a "common issue" with Dodge Rams, the dealer/Dodge would not cover the cost and it would be $500+ to repair with parts and labor. If this is as prevalent as the dealer indicated, this should be a safety recall.
Electronic stabilitac light is on and 4 wheel drive light is on as well. matches the recalls for 2019 and 2021-2024
Steering Rack and Pinion - Began malfunctioning (noise, and vibration when turning) at less than 10,000 miles. I visited Ram Dealer several times between 10,000 - 34,000 miles and they stated they could not replicate the issue. I drove the vehicle with their technical and they agreed there was an issue. Finally they replaced the Steering System when it had about 34,000 miles. This is a potential safety issue. Drive Selector Switch - I have had 3 selector switches (move from Park to Drive, reverse, etc.) malfunction and require replace (started in side of standard warranty), they appear to be replacing faulty part with same part. Most recent repair in April 2024 only lasted about 150 miles before the device went bad again. This is a potential safety issue. Radio - My 12" radio has been replaced 3 times. At times it impacts the controls of the vehicle features, heating, air-conditioning, etc. Starting at less than 10,000 miles inside normal warranty. Water Leak - I have a rear cabin water leak...mold and mildew in car (39,000 miles). The dealer did an initial inspection and said it had a know issue...back window and/or brake light leaks and requires further evaluation. This is a health issue - due to mold and mildew.
The tailgate opens at all speeds and different times WHILE driving without warning or notification !!! Just this week alone it did it 7 times!!!!
The contact owned a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the windshield wiper was operating erratically, the lights began flashing, the emergency lights would not work, and the lock was inoperable. The contact observed smoke coming from the vents and underneath the dashboard. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road where the contact observed sparks and flames coming from the dashboard that were approximately 5 feet in height. The Fire Department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was destroyed as a result of the fire. A fire report was filed. The contact was not sure if a Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a storage lot. The insurance company was pending a tow. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was unknown. The contact stated the fire started in the dash area and believes it to be an apparent faulty electrical system.
1. Safety Issue 1: Cracked Exhaust Manifold & Exhaust Leak Description: Loud knocking noise on startup, strong exhaust fumes entering cabin. Dealer Diagnosis: Both exhaust manifolds cracked, multiple broken bolts. Risk: Potential carbon monoxide poisoning, engine damage, and fire hazard. Dealer Response: Refused repair, quoted $3,500. No assistance from Chrysler. Pattern Failure: Online forums show many owners with identical issues—clearly a manufacturing defect. 2. Safety Issue 2: Dashboard Delamination & Toxic Fumes Description: Dashboard surface peeling, strong chemical odor in cabin. Risk: Toxic off-gassing causes headaches/nausea; peeling material obstructs visibility. Pattern Failure: Widespread reports for this model/year—faulty adhesive is to blame. Manufacturer Negligence: Chrysler and dealerships are aware but refuse responsibility, blaming "wear and tear." Exhaust leaks and toxic interiors are unacceptable safety hazards—yet no recall exists. Request to NHTSA: Investigate these defects for potential recall. Force Chrysler to acknowledge and repair affected vehicles. Urgency: Driving this vehicle is a health risk. NHTSA must act before more are harmed.
The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that when the vehicle was shifted into reverse(R), the back over prevention camera failed to show an image. The contact stated that the "Camera System Unavailable" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure was a constant failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V638000 (Back Over Prevention). The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Turn signal indicator has malfunctioned. When the left turn signal indicator is set, it will not reset after making a full left turn (90 degree). Also the left turn signal will not stop after putting the turn signal lever back into the middle position. The only way to disable to turn signal is to put the turn signal lever into the right turn indicator position and in this position the right turn indicator no longer works. After making a right hand turn the turn indicator lever will reset and make the left blinker come on automatically and stay on. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Being unable use my turn signal correctly has caused people to almost crash into me. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I have not scheduled the vehicle for service with the dealer because its not covered under warranty or recall. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning or check engine lights.
While driving on 3/29/24 I pulled the drivers side sun visor down to stop the glare from the sun. In doing so the post for the sun visor broke causing it to fall down into the line of view while traveling approximately 70 mile per hours. This caused an issue that could have caused a catastrophic accident causing injury to myself or others. A review of the internet shows that numerous people have had the same issues with the sun visors breaking. This issue need to have a recall issued to it to prevent someone from being seriously injured or even killed. A tooth pick had to be placed into the rod area to hold the visor up so that I would be able to move the vehicle safely. Thanks for you attention in this matter.
The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
While stopping at a stoplight truck turned off shifted to park and applied parking brake. This has happened on two separate occasions. The second time was while in a drive-through. It was also tried to shift into park when taking corners at low speed where I had almost come to a stop before proceeding.
Truck won't start or move from park new battery was drained in one afternoon. Now vehicle won't start .
Water damage recently started in back ceiling of truck above rear window. Coming in from somewhere. Also notice a large crack in plastic all of a sudden. Online research is showing a lot of the same complaints of cracks and water damage. I do not see a recall though? I've only owned the truck for 8 months and this has happened within weeks.
The contact's husband owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond when shifted into reverse(R). Additionally, the rearview camera was inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V301000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
INCIDENT 1: Cruise Control would not turn on or off. INCIDENT 2: TRUCK STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY
While driving at highway speed with the sunvisor down, the visor suddenly became loose and hit me in the head blocking my vision. As I reached up to move the visor around, I realized that there was no tension on the swing arm and the visor would swing from the driver side window all the way to the windshield, this caused me to keep one hand on the visor when the sun was coming through the driver side window, and only one hand on the wheel.
While refueling the gas pump kept shutting off. The dealership replaced the filler neck and the fuel tank almost a year ago and now the issue came back and they are stating it is now the Evaporator Canister.
UNKNOWN - Auto shut off on fuel dispenser happens almost immediately when filling tank as normal process. Have to slow to a trickle so it does not kick out & it takes 20x amount of time to fill tank than normal. Research is finding many owners of this vehicle with same issue. OEM needs to take action to correct as there is an obvious defect.
To Whom It May Concern, The issue I am reporting is that the drivers side of my cargo bin on my 2020 Ram Rebel is opening on its own. This has occurred many times while I was driving and most times, items inside the cargo bin have fallen out on the road. This issue is also taking place when the vehicle has been parked and locked, as I come out in the morning or return from an errand and the ride side drivers cargo bin is wide open. I have also had items stolen because of this. This shortcoming is now also killing my battery all the time, since after I jump the vehicle, I can hear the locking mechanism attempting to lock and unlock on its own. I feel this is a huge liability since the contents of the bin are sometimes landing in the roadway behind my truck. I contacted Crown Dodge in Ventura, Ca and they have stated they have never heard of this situation before. When I look on-line for similar complaints, many people are saying the exact same thing as their drivers side cargo bins are opening due to an electrical wire loom shortcoming. Some of these individuals have taken their trucks to their local Dodge dealers and they are changing the wire loom and adding additional weather protection to it to correct the issue. This situation, if not addressed will cause damage to vehicles behind the trucks if not accidents as the contents of the bin can immediately become unsecured and effect all vehicles behind it. I have now opened the top of my bin and disconnected the leads powering the lock switch and it seems to be working as the bin is locked all the time and I will now need to use my key to unlock it. This has also kept my battery from draining, but I feel the dealer should step up and correct this very dangerous situation on their own before the liability for accidents and/or damage is directed to the truck owners themselves. Please access u-tube "2020 Ram 1500 Ram Box Opens By Itself". These complaints began years ago. Thank you for your help, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Component Failure: Around 45,000 miles, my vehicle equipped with the 5.7L HEMI E-torque V8 had both exhaust manifolds cracked with large exhaust leaks pre-catalytic convertor Safety Risk: My vehicle equipped with the 5.7L HEMI E-torque V8 was idling in a parking lot for around 1 hour while I waited inside the vehicle. Cold ambient temperature with windows up and heater on. I noted having a slight headache and started smelling what seemed to be pre-catalytic convertor exhaust fumes (rich fuel smell). I stepped out of the vehicle and smelled the exhaust at the rear of the vehicle, which did not match. I attributed the smell to a nearby vehicle. One week later, the same event occurred with no other vehicles parked around me. The exhaust leak was large enough to pull exhaust fumes into the cabin through the HVAC system. High risk of carbon monoxide poisoning if the vehicle was to sit long enough, risking both myself and my child's safety while we sat in the vehicle. Problem Reproduced: Yes, brought the vehicle CJDR dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with "both exhaust manifolds cracked" and replaced both exhaust manifolds under warranty. Has component been inspected: Unknown. Parts were removed from vehicle as covered under warranty at dealer and replaced with new parts. Any Warnings: No warning lights on dashboard or DTCs for catalytic convertor performance, lean/rich banks, or other exhaust/emissions related. Exhaust seemed slightly louder on cold start. Smelling of unburnt/pre-cat exhaust fumes that prompted dealer visit.
