AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT INJURED HIS BACK AND LEG, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE TRUCK HAD A GOOSENECK FLATBED 30FT TRAILER ATTACHED TO THE DODGE RAM WITH A JOHN DEERE TRACTOR LOADED ON TOP OF THE TRAILER. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND IN PARK ON A SLIGHT DOWNHILL. THE TRAILER WAS PREPARED WITH THE RAMPS DOWN FOR THE TRACTOR TO BE BACKED OFF. UPON BACKING THE TRACTOR OFF OF THE TRAILER, WHEN THE REAR TRACTOR WHEELS MOVED TO THE DOWN RAMP, THE SHIFT IN WEIGHT CAUSED THE TRUCK, FLATBED TRAILER AND TRACTOR TO BEGIN ROLLING DOWN HILL FOR 300 YARDS AND THROUGH A BARBED WIRE FENCE AND FINALLY COMING TO A STOP DUE TO UPHILL SLOPE IN THE TERRAIN. THE TRACTOR WAS ABLE TO BACK THE REST OF THE WAY OFF OF THE TRAILER WITHOUT INCIDENT. UPON REACHING THE TRUCK AND TRAILER THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN PARK AND RUNNING. THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT. *TR
THERE IS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL NOTICE ON MY VEHICLE, N49. DODGE TOLD ME THERE IS A DELAY FROM THE MANUFACTURER, AND CAN GIVE NO ESTIMATE ON TIME TO REPAIR. THIS SAFETY ISSUE HAS CAUSED CRASHES DUE TO LOSS OF STEERING ON LEFT FRONT WHEEL. *TR
I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE N49/NHTSA 13V-529 A FEW MONTHS AGO. WHEN I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE RECALL. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE 4 TO 6 MONTHS FOR PARTS. I CALLED DODGE AND THEY SAID THERE IS A RESTRICTION ON THESE PARTS. IT IS SUMMER TRAVEL TIME AND I WANTED THIS DONE BEFORE MY TRIPS WHEN HAULING A 34 FOOT TRAILER. WHY SEND OUT RECALLS WHEN NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE RAM 3500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH IN REVERSE, A LOUD NOISE EMITTED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIE ROD WAS FRACTURED, WHICH CAUSED THE TIRE TO REMAIN IN AN INWARD POSITION. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V529000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING AT POSTED SPEED IN HOUSTON TRAFFIC THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING, CAUSING A LOSS OF STEERING,I WAS ABLE TO CLEAR TRAFFIC AND COAST TO THE SHOULDER, AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND I CONTINUED ON. I REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO MARTIN CHRYSLER DODGE IN CLEVELAND TX. I ASKED THE SERVICE REP. IF HE HAD HEARD OF ANY SIMILAR INCIDENTS HE SAID NO AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THIS.THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE, NOW I HAVE TO JIGGLE THE KEY TO MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT SHUT OFF AFTER STARTING BUT THIS DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK, IF I HIT A BUMP OR RUMPLE STRIPS IN THE ROAD IT MAY STILL DIE. TO REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH IS BETWEEN 400 AND 500 AT THE DEALERSHIP. I BELIEVE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD FOOT THE BILL ON NOT THE CONSUMER. THE SITUATION WITH THE ENGINE DYING WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED IN TRAFFIC COULD CAUSE A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V529000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DEALER ALSO REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT UNDER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BALL JOINTS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE TIME FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I HAVE THE ORIGINAL TIRES ON IT STILL. I DON'T OFF ROAD NOR DO I USE IT FOR COMMERCIAL USE. IN NOV 2011, WITH 19K MILES, I HAD THE LEFT TIE ROD REPLACED AS THE BALL JOINT PART WORE OUT AND WAS HANGING. THEN I GOT THE NOTICE IN DEC 13 OF THIS NEW TIE ROD ISSUE, I THOUGHT IT TO BE ONE IN THE SAME. I DEPARTED MY HOUSE FOR WORK. WITH NO NOTICE, AS I WAS BACKED OUT A DIRT DRIVEWAY, I HEARD A POP, IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS DRAGGING. I STOPPED, LOOKING UNDER THE FRONT AND BACK THINKING I HAD PICKED UP SOMETHING, THERE WAS NOTHING. AS I TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD, THE SCRAPING SOUND APPEARED AGAIN, I STOPPED, LOOKED UP UNDER THE FRONT END FINDING THE DRAG LINK HANGING ABOUT 8 INCHES OFF THE TIE ROD END. I CALLED THE DODGE CONTACT NUMBER IN THE BOOK. THIS WAS 340 AM.. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND HE STATED THAT HE WOULD BUILD A JOB ORDER FOR IT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER,(8 AM) HE ASKED ME TO LOOK AT THE DRAG LINK AND SEE WHAT TYPE OF STABILIZER SYSTEM I HAD MOUNTED ON IT. I HAD 2 U BOLT CONNECTORS ABOUT HALF MASS OF THE DRAG LINK. THE DEALERSHIP THEN STATED THAT KNOWING THAT, I NEEDED TO HAVE THE DRAG LINK REPLACED, AND THAT IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. HE THEN STATED THAT AS IT WAS MOUNTED, THE STABILIZER DIDN'T ALLOW THE DRAG LINK TO ROTATE PROPERLY CAUSING UNDUE STRESS ON THE TIE ROD END JOINT. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAD INSPECTED 15 TRUCKS SO FAR AND ALL 15 NEEDED THESE PARTS REPLACED, BUT DODGE STILL DIDN'T' HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE AND WOULDN'T BE UNTIL AROUND THE 14TH OF APRIL 14. MIND YOU THIS RECALL WAS PUT OUT IN DEC 2013 4 MONTHS AGO.... STILL AS OF TODAY WITH NO PARTS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.. I WANTED TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR, SHE SAID THEIR OFFICE DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT..... EVERY ONE HAS A SUPERVISOR SOME PLACE....SHE STATED THE CONVERSATION WAS RECORDED, AND CONTINUED TO TRY TO PUSH ME OFF TO THE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE FOLKS. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS A RECALL N49/NHTSA 13V-529 AND WHEN I CALLED TO GET THE RECALL WORK DONE I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL PARTS HAVE BEEN RECALLED BECAUSE THEY ARE FAILING TOO. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND IF THE TIE ROD BREAKS ALL STEERING CONTROL IS LOST. THIS IS MY ONLY "RELIABLE" VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK, GROCERY SHOP, ETC. NOW I AM JUST SUPPOSED TO RISK MY LIFE EACH DAY I DRIVE IT? THE DEALER (CHAPMAN DODGE OF LAS VEGAS) WAS NOT ABLE TO GIVE ME A DATE AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE IN TO FIX MY CAR OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. MY CO-WORKER ALREADY HAD HIS TIE ROD BREAK WHILE DRIVING ON HIS 2008 DODGE RAM 3500, LUCKILY HE HAD JUST COME TO A STOP OR WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. PLEASE GET DODGE TO DO THE RIGHT THINKING AND REPAIR THESE VEHICLES THAT THEY ALREADY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE WAS VERY CONCERNED FOR HIS SAFETY SINCE THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN VERIFIED THAT THE TIRES WERE FAILING BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE TIE ROD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM DODGE IN DEC 2013. I THEN CONTACTED MY DODGE DEALER. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE JAN 2014 BEFORE THEY WOULD BEGAN REPAIRS BEGIN. I CHECKED BACK IN EARLY FEB AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE PUT ON A LIST FOR REPAIRS. APRIL I HAD STILL NOT HEARD FROM DODGE SO I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THE MANUFACTORER HAD RECALLED THE RECALL PART AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. APRIL 11 WENT BY THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS GIVEN A RUN AROUND ABOUT REPAIRS. *JS
CHANGED LANES AT APPROXIMATE 65 MPH THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE (WOBBLE) SO BAD IT WAS HARD TO KEEP CONTROL OF IT. HAD TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP TO GET IT TO STOP . FELT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE THERE ARE OTHER POST WITH THE SAME ISSUE THEY HAVE CALLED THE WOBBLE AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. IT HAS HAPPEN 4 TIMES WITH THIS TRUCK AT DIFFERENT TIMES YOU DON'T KNOW OR HAVE ANY INDICATION THAT IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. HAD THE TIRES BALANCED AND ROTATED SUSPENSION CHECKED ALL IS GOOD ACCORDING TO THE REPAIR GARAGE. *TR

WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS VEHICLE IN DECEMBER, WITH REGARD TO THE LEFT TIE ROD BALL STUD ON THE TRUCK. IT SAID THAT THE PART COULD FRACTURE AND CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL/CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. WE WERE DIRECTED TO CALL THE DEALER JANUARY 6 TO ARRANGE REPAIR. ON JANUARY 6, CRYSTAL CHRYSLER IN CATHEDRAL CITY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS AND TO CALL BACK IN A WEEK OR SO. WHEN WE CALLED DODGE, THEY SAID THAT DEALERSHIPS COULD ONLY ORDER ONE EACH WEEK, WHICH HAS NOW BEEN RAISED TO THREE EACH WEEK. THIS RECALL COVERS ALL DODGE TRUCKS MADE BETWEEN 2008 AND 2012. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE IF ONE OF US LOSES CONTROL DUE TO A FRACTURE? WE HAUL HAY WITH THIS TRUCK, AS WELL AS A LARGE HORSE TRAILER. I GOT THE RECALL NOTICE N49/NHTSA 13V-529 IN NOVEMBER 2013 AND IT SAID PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE ON JANUARY 6 2014. THE 4 DEALERSHIPS I CONTACTED AROUND AMARILLO TX SAID THEY ONLY GET ONE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY A WEEK. TWO DEALERS IN AMARILLO HAD OVER 100 PEOPLE ON THERE LISTS THAT'S 2 YEARS BEFORE I CAN GET IN, THE DEALER IN DUMAS TX HAD 60 PEOPLE SO THAT'S STILL A YEARS WAIT, BUT I DID FIND A DEALER IN DALHART TX AND THEY ONLY HAD 12 PEOPLE ON THERE LIST SO MAYBE IF I DON'T CRASH MY TRUCK BECAUSE OF THIS IN 3 MONTHS I CAN HAVE THIS REPAIRED.
