TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM PROMASTER. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD SCRUBBING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM PROMASTER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V799000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
OVER 30 TIMES IN THE FIRST 5,000 MILES OF DRIVING, THE LOW TIRE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. EACH TIME THE TIRE PRESSURE CHECKED OK. TOOK TO DEALER WHO SAID THERE WAS A BAD TIRE SENSOR AND HE REPLACED IT. SINCE THEN INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO ON EVEN WHEN THE TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW. COULD THIS BE RELATED TO THE DOCUMENTED ELECTRICAL ISSUE? I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE.
DUST AND ROAD DIRT BEING SUCKED INTO CARGO AREA AND CIRCULATED THROUGHOUT CAB. DUST IS GETTING RECYCLED BY THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. THIS IS CAUSING RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS FOR OCCUPANTS AND VISIBILITY ISSUES ON INSTRUMENTATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM PROMASTER. WHILE DRIVING AT 75 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S KNEE INADVERTENTLY HIT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER INTO MANUAL MODE. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE RPMS INCREASED. THE CONTACT HAD TO STEER THE VEHICLE IN EXCESS TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM VEERING. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE WHICH WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM PROMASTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE BRAKES BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,500.
MY WIFE BOUGHT A CARGO VERSION OF THE RAM PROMASTER TO USE AS HER DAILY DRIVER AND, HOPEFULLY, WHEN SHE RETIRES, A TOURING/VACATION VEHICLE. NEITHER SHE NOR I INTENDED TO USE THE VEHICLE COMMERCIALLY YET THE TIRE PRESSURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON THIS IS SET TO KEEP THE REAR TIRES AT 72 PSI AND THE FRONTS AT 65 PSI, RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRESSURES FOR A VEHICLE THAT WILL NEVER BE USED TO HAUL A LOAD. THE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE "C" RATED PASSENGER TIRES. THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO ADJUST THAT TO SOMETHING RELATED TO REAL-WORLD PHYSICS (MY BEST GUESS WOULD BE ROUGHLY 32 PSI ON ONE END AND, MAYBE, 35 PSI ON THE OTHER). WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO PARK ON A PIECE OF GLASS TO LOOK AT THE FOOT PRINT, I WOULD GUESS I ONLY HAVE ABOUT A 2/3 FOOTPRINT. IF SHE HAS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, EVEN IF SHE'S ON DRY PAVEMENT, THE STOPPING DISTANCE IS PROBABLY MUCH GREATER THAN IT SHOULD BE. THE TIRE MOST LIKELY WILL ONLY WEAR DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE TREAD, ASSUMING THERE ARE NO ALIGNMENT ISSUES. THE RIDE IS SO HARD I CAN'T VOUCH FOR THE LONGEVITY OF ELECTRONICS IN THIS VEHICLE AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF THEM. SHOCK IS THEIR WORST ENEMY. IT'S BAD ENOUGH THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT CAN THROW THIS VEHICLE INTO "LIMP" MODE, AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM, "LIMP" MODE, DEPENDING WHERE YOU ARE, COULD BE LIFE-THREATENING. PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN GET THIS SAFE HAZARD REMEDIED AND SOON. MY WIFE MAKES A MONTHLY TRIP TO PHOENIX AND IT'S ABOUT A THREE HOUR DRIVE, ONE WAY. WE GET WINTER WEATHER (ICE AND SNOW) AT BOTH OF OUR HOMES. DON'T BOTHER TELLING ME ABOUT THE MEME ON WHY THIS WORTHLESS DEVICE WAS MANDATED IN AMERICAN VEHICLES, I'VE READ IT AND, LIKE ANY OTHER AMERICAN WITH A FUNCTIONING SYNAPSE, KNOW THAT THIS STUPIDITY IS JUST ANOTHER BLATANT EXAMPLE OF OVERREACH, THIS TIME LIFE-THREATENING. I REALIZE GOVERNMENT INCOMPETENCE KNOWS NO BOUNDS BUT THIS TRULY IS LIFE-THREATENINGLY STUPID.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM PROMASTER. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED IT AS A DESIGN FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,300. UPDATED 1/12/16 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED HE NOTICED AFTER HE PICKED THE VEHICLE UP FROM THE DEALER UNDER CERTAIN LIGHTING CONDITIONS HE COULD NOT SEE THE SPEEDOMETER CLEARLY. IT WAS BLURRY AND THE DETAILS WERE IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE OUT WITHOUT TAKING HIS EYES OFF THE ROAD . THE SPEEDOMETER ILLUMINATION WAS ONLY ADJUSTABLE WITH THE LIGHTS ON AND EVEN WHEN FULLY ILLUMINATED IT WAS STILL BLURRY. UPDATED 02/09/16*JB
VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED WITH SPEEDOMETER / INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THAT PROVIDES ERRATIC INFORMATION. DISPLAY GIVES INCORRECT WARNINGS. DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS CANNOT BE SET. AWAITING NEW SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER WITH CURRENT MILEAGE PROGRAMED ON THE ODOMETER FOR 82 DAYS. VEHICLE MUST REMAIN AT DEALER AS NEW CLUSTER IS PROGRAMMED WITH THE MILEAGE PRIOR TO SHIPPING TO DEALERSHIP FOR INSTALLATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,654. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
