THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING AND THE CAR WENT TO MANUAL STEERING. WORKED WITH GM CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR DIRECTION ON WHAT TO DO. VEHICLE AT DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR ON 3/09/15. PROBLEM IDENTIFIED AS TORQUE SENSOR FAILURE. GM WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY SUPPORT FOR THE DEALER OR MYSELF TO REPAIR THE CAR. REASON: VIN IS NOT IN RECALL RANGE. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE SAME AS EARLY MODELS. IT APPEARS THAT THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO LOOK AT EXTENDING THE RECALL OR AT THE LEAST GET SOME GOOD PARTS INTO THEIR CARS. I ALSO WANT TO BE SURE THIS VIN IS DOCUMENTED AS AN ACTUAL FAILURE. *TR
THE SECURITY SYSTEM RANDOMLY DECIDES THE CAR IS BEING STOLEN AND LOCKS DOWN THE ENGINE ENTIRELY UNTIL YOU UNPLUG THE BATTERY. HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY OTHER WEEK AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY DON'T KNOW WHY IT WOULD DO THAT SO THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE AUTO START NO LONGER WORKS NOW AS A RESULT. *TR

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED A CODE C0545 TORQUE SENSOR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
MY CAR WILL NOT GO INTO PARK. I WAS READING ON IT AND IT SAID THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE HAS BEEN RECALLED BEFORE. WE DO NOT KNOW IF IT WAS FIXED, AND WE NEED TO GET IT FIXED BEFORE IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT. THE RECALL NUMBER THAT HAS BEEN ENTERED IN 2012 IS 12V460000. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US WHAT WE NEED TO DO. *TR
THE CAR DOES NOT GO INTO REVERSE AND DOES NOT SEEM TO GET OUT OF THIRD GEAR. THE CAR WILL ONLY GET OUT OF THIRD GEAR AFTER THE ENGINE REVS AND SEEM TO SHIFT HARD. STALLS ON HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS AND AT TIMES CANT GO FASTER THAN 20-25 MPH. I CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID THE OTHER DAY WHICH SEEMED TO HELP TEMPORARILY HOWEVER IT WENT BACK TO THE WAY ITS ACTING CURRENTLY. PLEASE HELP. *TR

I WAS WAITING AT A STOP SIGN. WHEN CROSS-TRAFFIC CLEARED AND I BEGAN MY RIGHT TURN, I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING HAD FAILED. IT TOOK GREAT EFFORT TO TURN THE WHEEL TO COMPLETE THE RIGHT TURN. ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER, A WARNING LIGHT (YELLOW TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION POINT) ILLUMINATED, AND THE AREA WHERE THE ODOMETER READING NORMALLY DISPLAYS, INSTEAD SAID "SERVICE EPS" AND THEN "POWER STEERING". I CONTINUED FOR NO MORE THAN A QUARTER MILE BEFORE STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT, TURNING OFF THE MOTOR, AND RE-STARTING THE CAR. POWER STEERING WORKED FROM THAT POINT AND FOR THE REST OF MY 20 MILE COMMUTE. *TR
2009 SATURN AURA GM NEEDS TO UPDATE THE RECALLS ON THE 09 AURA. IN THE PAST 4 MOS I HAVE LUCKILY SURVIVED 8 CRASHES, NOW, FROM TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING. NO ONE @ GM/SATURN WILL HELP. THEY SAY MY VIN# IS NOT IN THE RECALL, BUT IT IS THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENING AS IS IN THE RECALL..COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. TRIANGLE ILLUMINATES ON DASH & SAYS ESC SERVICE POWER STEERING...DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM, COULDN'T GET A CODE. I SUBSCRIBED TO ON STAR SO WHEN IT HAPPENED I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC CODE, & LUCKILY THEIR COMPUTER DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE, & GOT THE CODES WHICH ARE THE EXACT PROBLEMS IN THE RECALLS CODE C0545 POWER STEERING, & C0561 TRACTION CONTROL MODULE NOT FUNCTIONING. THEY NOW TELL ME I NEED A COMPLETE STEERING COLUMN, WHICH DORMAN PRODUCTS SAYS MY VIN# IS NOT IN RECALL ON STEERING SHAFT! GENERAL MOTORS/SATURN PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RECALLS< THERE ARE 1000'S WITH THE SAME ISSUES IN THE 09 AURAS, BEFORE ONE OF US HERE BECOMES A STATISTIC! I ASSUME SATURN IS DOING NOTHING BECAUSE THEY HAVE FILED BANKRUPTCY & GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. I CAN NOT DRIVE THIS CAR & BE SAFE!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! I THINK WE NEED AN ATTORNEY! *TR
2009 SATURN AURA WAS HIT BOTH IN THE FRONT AND REAR AND IT WAS A VERY SEVERE ACCIDENT; THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, CAUSING THE TWO PASSENGERS TO BE MORE INJURED THAN THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN (IF AT ALL) HAD THEY GONE OFF. THE DRIVER HAD A CONCUSSION AND THE PASSENGER WAS SEVERELY BRUISED AND BROKE BOTH HANDS. *JS
TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PLATE CRACKED PER DEALERSHIP. CAR STARTED SHIFTING HARD. HAD THE TRANSMISSION FAILED ON THE EXPRESSWAY IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *JS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON ICE, THE VEHICLE SLID AND CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN, SPUN ACROSS THREE LANES, AND CRASHED INTO A HILL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONTAL IMPACT WAS NOT THE INITIAL IMPACT; THEREFORE, THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT INTERMITTENT TIMES WHILE DRIVING. NOT DEPENDENT ON WEATHER CONDITIONS - I.E. HAS OCCURRED DURING COLD AND WARM WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND STILL HAVE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM NOW IN WARM WEATHER. STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT, AS POWER STEERING CUTS OUT, AND REQUIRES GREATER EFFORT TO CONTROL VEHICLE UNDER MANUAL STEERING CONDITION, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT IS DISPLAYED ON DASH ONCE POWER STEERING IS LOST. CHECKED WITH DEALER AND GM SITE, NO RECALL LISTED AT THIS TIME, BUT SHOULD BE.
CAR STOPPED, NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED. LOCAL MECHANIC INSPECTED AND TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION CABLE HAD BROKEN. BROUGHT TO COURTESY MOTORS IN LAFAYETTE, LA.. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE 2009 MODEL WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL THAT INVOLVED OTHER SATURNS THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED THROUGH 2008. I PURCHASED MY 2009 IN LATE 2008 AND I WOULD THINK THAT THE SAME TYPE PART WAS USED IN THE 2009. GMC WILL NOT REPAIR THE PART AT THEIR COST. I THINK THAT THE 2009 MODELS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AS WELL AS ALL OTHER MODEL YEARS, FOR THE SAFETY OF THOSE BUYERS OF 2009 MODELS (THE LAST YEAR THEY WERE SOLD).. *TR

WHILE TURNING LEFT THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION POWER STEERING WAS LOST AND I ALMOST SIDE SWIPED ANOTHER VEHICLE . THE RECALL THAT IS ACTIVE DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS VIN NUMBER , EVEN THOUGH IT HAD THE SAME FAILURE . I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD EITHER BE EXPANDED OR TAKEN ON BY CASE . *TR

MY FACE AND BODY SMASHED INTO THE DRIVERS DOOR CAUSING SEVER WHIPLASH AND OTHER THINGS NOT YET IDENTIFIED BY MY DOCTOR. THE DRIVERS DOOR AND REAR DRIVERS SIDE WAS SMASHED PUSHING UP AGAINST THE SEATS (FRONT AND BACK) NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I AM STILL SEEING DOCTORS TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY SHOULDER, NECK, AND BACK. NEEDLESS TO SAY MEDICAL CARE IS STILL NEEDED. *TR

AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND TURNING LEFT, I LOST COMPLETE USE OF MY CAR. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD NO CONTROL. AFTER TRYING TO TURN THE CAR STRAIGHT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, I FINALLY HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT BEFORE I REGAINED USE OF THE POWER STEERING. I SEE THERE WAS RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM IN APRIL 2014, HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY CAR. *TR
MY CAR HAS BEEN CLICKING OFF THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING RANDOMLY SINCE ABOUT LAST DECEMBER OR EARLIER AND WHEN THE STEERING TURNS OFF THEN MY ELECTRIC STABILITY CONTROL TURNS OFF AND THE ABS BRAKES TURN OFF ALL AT THE SAME TIME I AM AWARE THERE IS A RECALL FOR MANY OF THE SATURN AURAS OUT THERE BUT MY VIN DOESN'T SHOW A RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR. IF THERE IS ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS FOR MY CAR IN PARTICULAR IT WOULD BE OF GREAT HELP. *TR
I WAS DRIVING APX 40MPH & MY CAR HAD A SLIGHT VIBRATION, OR MISSING-FEEL, & SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP & STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN! I COULD NOT EVEN BUDGE IT ,BUT LUCKILY THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME & I MANAGED TO GET TO SIDE OF ROAD. I TURNED MY CAR OFF & GOT OUT & LOOKED UNDER HOOD. I SAW NOTHING THAT LOOKED UNUSUAL, BUT I AM A WOMAN & NOT MECHANICALLY MINDED. SO I GOT BACK IN MY CAR & WAS GOING TO CALL FOR HELP. I DECIDED TO START IT TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN & IT STARTED & EVERYTHING WAS FINE.IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL! WHEN ALL THIS HAPPENED IT HAD FLASHED A MSG ACROSS DASH SAYING "ESC POWER STEERING, SERVICE IMMEDIATELY" . THEN, TODAY I WAS TURNING ONTO A STREET & IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING. LUCKILY AGAIN I DID NOT HIT THE CAR ON THE STREET. I TURNED OFF & STARTED AGAIN & IT WAS OK AGAIN. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE! I HAVE SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR, LIGHTS, LOCKS, WINDOWS, THINGS SHORTING OUT & A FLOATING NO CONTROL TYPE FEELING WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS, SORT OF LIKE THE WIND IS BLOWING ME OFF THE ROAD. I FOUND SEVERAL RECALLS & CONTACTED GM. THEY TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS, THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER I GET A RECALL NOTICE ON A PART/RECALL I HAD CALLED THEM ABOUT, SO I DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY SAY.PLEASE ADVISE , AS I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. AS MY DAUGHTER WAS LEAVING A COSTCO PARKING LOT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS SHE WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN CAUSING HER TO STOP IMMEDIATELY AND SOME ONE RAN RIGHT INTO MY CAR. SINCE THEN THE STEERING WILL LOCKS ABRUPTLY WHILE DRIVING AND ILL HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND WHEN I TURN IT BACK ON ITS NOT LOCKED ANYMORE. I HAVE A 2009 SATURN AURA AND ON THE MORNING OF 10/22 WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN GM RECALL ID # 102639. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF OF THE ROAD STEERING MANUALLY WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM AND AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. AFTER READING THIS RECALL NOTICE, I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN WITH MY VEHICLE AGAIN AND I MIGHT NOT BE AS LUCKY NEXT TIME WHEN IT DOES. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL LISTED FOR THE POWER STEERING ISSUE UNDER MY VIN. I FOUND THIS SURPRISING AS THIS OCCURRED EXACTLY AS WAS DESCRIBED IN THE AFOREMENTIONED RECALL NOTICE THAT I READ ONLINE. I THEN CALLED GM CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL AT THE MOMENT AND I WOULD HAVE TO BRING MY CAR IN TO THE DEALER AT MY OWN EXPENSE. I'M VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS WAS OUTLINED IN THIS RECALL NOTICE. I ALSO FIND IT SURPRISING THAT ONLY CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS ARE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40 MPH, THE STEERING SEIZED AS POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS USED TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.

THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH MESSAGE. I CONTACTED GM SINCE THIS MODEL IS KNOWN TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM, AND THEY SAID MY VIN IS NOT ONE THAT SHOULD HAVE THE ISSUE AND THERE ARE NO REPAIRS AVAILABLE FOR IT. WHILE DRIVING TO ORLANDO WITH MY KIDS AT 9:03 PM LAST NIGHT, I NEARLY GOT REAR ENDED ON I4 EAST. I WAS A LIL PUZZLED TO WHY SOMEONE WOULD FLYING TOWARD MY CAR AS IF I WAS A TARGET, UNTIL THE DRIVER OF THAT VEHICLE PULLED UP ASIDE OF ME, SCREAMING OUT "TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS." I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED AT MY HEADLIGHTS AND YELLED MY LIGHTS ARE ON. STILL A LITTLE CONFUSED, I PULLED THE CAR OVER, ONLY TO NOTICE THAT MY TAILLIGHTS WEREN'T ON. THIS MORNING THE LIGHTS WERE ON, NOW TONIGHT THEY DON'T WORK I REPLACED THE BULBS AND, THEY DON'T WORK EITHER. MY CAR HAS HAD QUITE A FEW ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, AND A TRACTION RECALL THAT HAD BEEN REPAIRED IN 2010. I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME TONIGHT WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON. WHAT CAN I DO? AND HOW AM I GOING TO GET AROUND AT NIGHT? *TR
AFTER HAVING ALL 4 TIRES REPLACED, MY BRAKES WERE IMMEDIATELY DISAPPEARING ON THE DRIVE HOME UNTIL I NO LONGER HAD BRAKES. AFTER TAKING THE CAR INTO A REPAIR SHOT TO HAVE LOOKED AT IT WAS DETERMINED THAT DUE TO THE SATURN AURA DESIGN, THE BRAKE HOSES JUST BARELY REACH WHERE THEY ARE ATTACHED TO EACH TIRE. WHEN THE TIRE WAS PUT ON A LIFT TO REPLACE THE TIRES THE SUSPENSION DROPPED JUST A LITTLE BIT WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKE HOSES TO STRETCH AND IN THIS CASE IT CAUSED A TEAR ON THE TWO BACK BRAKE HOSES. THIS IS A HUGE FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE 2009 SATURN AURA XR THAT COULD CAUSE BRAKE LEAKS JUST BY HAVING THE CAR PUT ON A LIFT. I HAVE HAD TO PAY $375 FOR THIS REPAIR THAT WAS DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE BRAKE HOSES IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR

RECENTLY UPON VEHICLE STARTUP THE CAR DINGED AND A MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED TO HAVE EPS SERVICED - TURNING THE WHEEL EITHER DIRECTION WAS DIFFICULT. MOST OF THE TIME THE STEERING FUNCTIONS NORMALLY. INQUIRY WITH DEALER SAYS NO RECALL FOR STEERING ISSUES ON THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. *TR
TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED AFTER 3 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY WAS UP AND HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE THAT GM IS NOT ADDRESSING. *TR
MERGING ONTO 65 MPH HIGHWAY WHEN CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 45 MPH. ENGINE WAS HIGH REVVING AND JERKING AS IT WAS TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS. CONSISTENTLY DEBILITATED UNTIL VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER MOVE. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WHEN SEAT BELTS ARE BUCKLED.... PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS FOR ME. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE FOR A WHILE NOW. *TR
THE REAR LIGHTS FAIL WITHOUT WARNING. IT BLOWS A FUSE (10 AMP #6 POSITION) INTERMITTENTLY. FRONT LIGHTS ARE NOT AFFECTED, SO DRIVER HAS NO IDEA WHEN THEIR BACK LIGHTS ARE OUT. I HAVE NEARLY BEEN REAR-ENDED AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN A REPAIR SHOP 10 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. EVERYONE AGREES THERE'S A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM, BUT I CANNOT AFFORD TO OFFER AN OPEN CHECK FOR THEM TO GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THEREFORE, I AM ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE IN THE DAYLIGHT HOURS.

I TOOK PICTURES OF THE WARNING LIGHTS THAT CAME ON. GM DEALER STATES EVERYTHING IS WRONG EXCEPT THE RECALLED PART. REFUSING TO REPLACE RECALLED PART. TRYING TO CHARGE 600 DOLLARS FOR REPAIR OF ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN. *TR
VEHICLE CONTINUES TO LOSE POWER DRIVING ON HIGHWAY OVER 40 MPH. AAA CONTACTED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AAA TESTED VEHICLE AND NOTED THAT BATTERY WAS GOOD, ALTERNATOR WAS GOOD. VEHICLE STRUGGLES TO START AT IGNITION. VEHICLE IS PART OF RECALL BUT WHEN I RUN VIN AT GM SITE IT STATES MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE AN ACTIVE RECALL. ESC AND ABS LIGHT ARE ALWAYS TURNING ON AND ENGINE ATTEMPT TO SHUT OFF AT HIGH SPEEDS ON FWY. AGAIN, I CALL THE DEALER AND MY VIN IS NOT PART OF ACTIVE RECALL YET ALL SAFETY AND LIFE THREATENING INDICATIONS ARE THERE. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
