WHEN DRIVING MY CAR WILL BRIEFLY LOSE POWER. GAS BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE. ONCE EVERYTHING KICKS BACK ON THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT, AND DASH DISPLAYS SERVICE ESC, TRACTION, POWER STEERING, ABS. AFTER THIS HAPPENS CAR WILL NOT START AFTER IT'S SHUT OFF. SOMETIMES IT JUST FLICKERS, CAUSING BRAKE LIGHTS TO STAY ON, BLINKERS TO CUT IN AND OUT. *JS
THE SERVICE TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER/LURCH, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BUT BOTH WENT OFF WHEN CAR TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, TAKEN TO DEALER WHO SAID MIGHT BE FUEL INJECTION BUT DIDN'T REPAIR BECAUSE COULDN'T GET A READ ON COMPUTER. DEALER SAID TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE UNTIL LIGHTS STAYED ON BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T DIAGNOSE PROBLEM; TWO MONTHS LATER CAR IN SHOP FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS - CRACKED HEADS PER DEALER AND TIMING BELT. 2 WEEKS LATER SERVICE TRACTION LIGHT BACK ON AND CAR IS SHUDDERING AND LURCHING BOTH WHILE DRIVING AND IDLING. *JB
TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON INTERMITTENTLY AT OR ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO MALFUNCTION. *TR
THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK AS A RESULT THE CAR WOULD ROLL FORWARD OR BACKWARD WITH THE ENGINE OFF. IT WAS ALSO DIFFICULT TO RESTART AS IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN PARK. TOOK IT TO A GM DEALER, WHO SAID IT WAS NOT A RECALL AS THE AURA HAS A SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION AND ONLY AURAS WITH A 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION WERE COVERED WHEN THE SHIFT LINK BREAKS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WITHOUT THE CONTACT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT HAD TO SLIGHTLY TOUCH THE PEDAL TO TURN OFF THE BRAKE LIGHTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED FREQUENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES BUT REFUSED TO INSPECT THE BRAKE LIGHTS. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,800.
THIS IS A RECURRING INCIDENT THAT BEGAN IN APRIL 2013. IT IS ALWAYS THE SAME: RUNS ROUGH LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL, ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE ESC AND TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGES ILLUMINATE. LATEST INCIDENT WAS JUNE 19, 2014. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO GM DEALER AT LEAST 5 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND EXPECTING TO GO BACK TO DEALER THIS WEEK. I DO NOT KNOW WHY AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GM ABOUT THIS ONGOING PROBLEM. IS THIS DOUBLE-TALK FROM GM, BECAUSE I FEAR THAT THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS ARE IN JEOPARDY. I WOULD APPRECIATE AN ANSWER TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, IDLING, AND PARKED MY ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL ENGAGES AND THE CAR JERKS/HESITATES. IT ACTS LIKE IT'S SLIPPING YET THE WEATHER IS WARM AND SUNNY. THE LIGHT WILL COME ON SAYING 'SERVICE TRACTION' AND ESC OFF AND SERVICE ESC. I'VE TAKEN IT TO MANY MECHANICS BUT THEY DON NOT KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2013 AND IT'S BEEN DOING IT ON AND OFF EVER SINCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WOULD NOT SWITCH TO THE NEXT GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
MY MOTHER WAS DRIVING HER VEHICLE WHEN IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO OVER 100 MPH, SHE CRASHED HER VEHICLE AND DIED FROM THE IMPACT. WITNESSES STATE SHE HAD HER FLASHERS ON AND SHE WAS OBSERVED TRYING TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE STEERING WHEEL BEGINS TO MOVE SLIGHTLY BACK AND FORTH ON ITS OWN. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS THE DIC DISPLAYS "POWER STEERING" AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST IS GONE. IT HAS CAUSED ME TO CRASH NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILS WHEN MAKING A TURN. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR MAY HAVE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS MAKING A TURN, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED MAKING THE VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD ONLY OCCUR WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKES AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AT THE SAME TIME. IN ADDITION, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BRACKET HAD FAILED CAUSING THE SEAT TO MOVE WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THE SEAT BRACKET WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON ALL THE TIME UNLESS I RIDE MY BRAKE PEDAL. THEY WONT COME BACK ON WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TILL I ALMOST LOCK UP THE BRAKES. LOTS OF ELECTRICAL GREMLINS IN THIS POS CAR. *TR
2009 SATURN AURA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE RECALL NOTICE AND SEEKS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED ON DECEMBER 3, 2012, HE ATTEMPTED TO PARK THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE SHIFTED THE GEAR INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. HE QUICKLY APPLIED THE BRAKE. HE TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN, BUT IT WOULDN'T START, EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFT LEVER WAS SET TO PARK. HE LET HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AGAIN, AND IT STILL ROLLED BACKWARDS, SO, HE QUICKLY APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AT A COST OF $ 554.90. THE CONSUMER THEN DISCOVERED GM ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE FOR HIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. WHEN THE CONSUMER CONTACTED GM, HE WAS INFORMED HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL # 12V46000 AND HE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. THE CONSUMER STATED HIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AS HIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITHIN THE DATES LISTED. *JB
EVEN WHEN MY SEAT BELTS ARE BUCKLED MY SEATBELT/AIRBAGS ARE DINGING BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE... THIS IS VERY ANNOYING AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY ACCIDENTS BUT FEEL THEY SHOULD BE FIXED FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON RANDOMLY AND WOULD TURN OFF WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. THEY WOULD OPERATE IN THE OPPOSITE WAY THAT THEY SHOULD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. MOST OF THE TIME THEY DO NOT WORK BUT THERE ARE RARE OCCASIONS THAT THEY DO WORK. I FOR SURE KNOW THAT THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT DOESN'T WORK ALMOST ALL THE TIME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,628.
BRAKE LIGHTS WORK OPPOSITE OF EXPECTED. THAT IS: THEY ARE ON WHEN ACCELERATING AND GO OFF WHEN BRAKING!! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE HAD IT TO GM DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND THEY SAY IT DROVE FINE, AND CHARGED ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. GRANTED TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ONLY GOES ON SPORADICALLY TO CAUSE THIS MESS WHICH ALSO CAUSES CRUISE CONTROL TO NOT WORK. JUST BECAUSE SATURN IS NO LONGER A CAR MAKER, THERE SEEMS TO BE A COVER-UP BY GM TO IGNORE THIS PROBLEM. YET THE EMPLOYEES GET $6,000. BONUS CHECKS. TO ONLY HAVE 212 OF THESE COMPLAINTS IS THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. THE WEB BLOGS ARE LOADED WITH THESE COMPLAINTS AND NO QUICK FIX OF CONDUCTOR JELL TO HELP CORROSION WILL FIX THE CHIP THAT HAS GONE DANGEROUSLY WRONG. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN IN DETROIT RUSH HOUR COMMUTES EACH DAY WHEN BRAKE LIGHTS ARE REVERSED! PLEASE HELP ME. I THINK IT IS UNETHICAL TO SELL THE "AS IS" TO SOMEONE UNINFORMED, SO YET I KEEP DRIVING IT EACH DAY. NOTE THAT VERY OFTEN I GET YELLED AT IN CAR WASHES TO GET OFF MY BRAKE DUE TO THIS REVERSAL ERROR IN BRAKE LIGHTING. THEY WILL VERIFY MY PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH GM WILL NOT. *TR

THE FAILURE WAS A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND AN UNKNOWN PART WAS REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
STOPPED AT A DRIVE-THRU WINDOW. WAS IN GEAR AND UNDER BRAKING. TWO LIGHTS CAME ON AT DASH: SERVICE ESC AND SERVICE TRACTION. LIGHTS RESET WHEN VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. LIGHTS HAPPEN AT RANDOM TIMES DURING OPERATION. WHEN SERVICE LIGHTS OCCUR, BRAKE LIGHTS REACT OPPOSITE OF NORMAL OPERATION. *TR
HAD TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AT 50,000 MILES. SHORTLY AFTER ABOUT 60,000 MILES I STARTED TO FEEL A DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY IT SHIFTED, WHEN I GOT 50 MPH THE POWER TRAIN SEEMED TO SHAKE. NOW IT'S WORSE THAN BEFORE, ANY THING OVER 50 AND IT SHAKES. THIS HAPPENS IN FINAL GEARS ( 5TH & 6TH ) SEEMS TO BOUNCE BACK AND FORTH & NOT LOCKING INTO EITHER ONE. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE CRUISING, NEVER ON ACCELERATION OR DECELERATION AND IT'S INTERMITTENT, COMES AND GOES,
I WAS DRIVING THIS MORNING WITH NO PROBLEMS THEN SUDDENLY I WAS DRIVING UP A SLIGHT HILL AND I COULD TELL MY GEARS WERE CHANGING AT A ABNORMAL RATE THEN WHEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT THE STOP LIGHT IT SEEM FINE THEN WHEN I STARTED GOING AGAIN IT TOOK ABOUT 5 SECS FOR THE CAR TO MOVE THEN IT HAD A BUMP FEELING WHEN CHANGING FROM 1ST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR THEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN A PARKING LOT I TURNED OFF MY CAR THEN TURNED ON MY CAR AND THEN MY GEAR SHIFT WAS ABLE TO MOVE BUT MY CAR WAS STILL IN PARK WHEN I HAD IT IN REVERSE AND NEUTRAL. *TR
STEERING SOMETIMES PULLS LEFT OR RIGHT, LIKE YOUR ARE IN A RUT. IT CAN NOT BE CORRECTED BACK TO CENTER IT IN YOUR LANE. IT JUMPS TO THE OPPOSITE PULL. IT CAN DO THIS @ ANY SPEED INCLUDING ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS CAUSES YOU TO DRIFT BACK AND FORTH IN YOUR LANE FIGHTING TO CENTER THE CAR UNTIL THE STEERING RETURNS TO NORMAL. SOMETIMES IT LASTS ONLY A MINUTE, AND GOES AWAY, OTHER TIMES IT LASTS SEVERAL MINUTES AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK IT'S BACK TO NORMAL IT STARTS PULLING AGAIN. WHEN IT'S BEEN PULLING A LOT, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL ALSO SHAKE WHILE SITTING STILL SOMETIMES. THE DEALER CHECKED IT OUT AND FOUND NOTHING, BUT IT WENT AWAY FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. NOW IT'S BACK AGAIN, AND I WILL BE RETURNING TO THE DEALER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. WHENEVER THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BEGIN TO VIBRATE FOLLOWED BY THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 20 MPH ON A HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE BEYOND 20 MPH. THE CONTACT DROVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, IT DID NOT ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE RESUMED TO ITS NORMAL ACCELERATION AFTER IT WAS RESTARTED A THIRD TIME. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WAS NO DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 56,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHEN HE SHIFTED IT INTO PARK. UPON RELEASING HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL FORWARD. IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED SINCE THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V073000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:COLUMN SHIFT). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 42,800.
(1.) I PURCHASED 2009 SATURN AURA XR ON 5/22/10 WITH 17,458 MILES AT CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. (2.) ON 1/20/11 TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR AN ISSUE OF INTERMITTENT WIPER FAILURE DURING OPERATION; THE MILEAGE ON VEHICLE WAS DOCUMENTED AT 46,563 MILES. (3.) DEALERSHIP PERFORMED DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND A BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) INTERNAL FAILURE. DEALERSHIP QUOTED REPAIR COSTS OF $514.10 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE 100K MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. DEALERSHIP DID STATE THAT THE 36K MILE OR 36 MONTH BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY WOULD HAVE COVERED THE REPAIR BUT THAT THE VEHICLE'S 36K MILE OR 36 MONTH WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED DUE TO THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. I ELECTED NOT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE REPAIR AT ITS CURRENT MILEAGE. I DID PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $117.82 ON 1/20/11. (4.) I THEN CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THIS ISSUE. IT IS TO MY BELIEF THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER?S DEFECT BUT THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT WANT TO COVER THE COST OF THE DEFECT; IN ADDITION TO, THE SAFETY HAZARDS IT IMPOSES WHILE DRIVING. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED ME A 10% DISCOUNT TOWARD THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR OF $514.10 BUT NO OTHER INCENTIVES WERE OFFERED BY GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. (5.) I WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION INTO MATTER. INTERMITTENT WIPER FAILURE IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT COULD CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR EVEN DEATH WHILE DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. I'M CONFIDENT THAT THIS PARTICULAR BCM IS USED ON OTHER GM MODELS AND THAT IS A GREAT HAZARD TO THE CONSUMERS. I BELIEVE THAT GM SHOULD EITHER DO A RECALL OR REPAIR ON ALL VEHICLES THAT USE THE SAME BCM AS THE ONE IN MY 2009 SATURN AURA OR AT THE LEAST ANY OTHER VEHICLE WITH BCM FAILURE CAUSING INTERMITTENT WIPER FAILURE DURING USE SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT THE COST OF THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN THE POURING RAIN ON THE MORNING OF NOVEMBER 16, 2010, THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WIPER SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING, QUIT WORKING. AS A RESULT, I LOST TOTAL VISIBILITY RESULTING IN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO MYSELF AND THE DRIVERS IN FRONT OF ME. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO KEEP MY WITS ABOUT ME, TURNED ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND SLOWLY MADE MY WAY TO THE SHOULDER EMERGENCY LANE WITHOUT INCIDENT. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WIPER ARM WHERE IT BOLTS TO THE WIPER MOTOR SHAFT. THE GROVES IN THE WIPER ARM HOLE WHERE THE SHAFT FROM THE WIPER MOTOR MOUNTS WERE COMPLETELY STRIPPED OUT. MY WIFE HAD HER COAT CAUGHT IN THE DOOR AFTER SHE EXITED AND THE CAR BEGAN TO MOVE AWAY. WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE.
