MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. WHEN RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET ON HOW TO CHANGE THE LAMP, I FOUND THAT THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE HEADLIGHTS ON ALL MODEL YEARS OF SATURN OUTLOOK, GMC ACADIA, BUICK ENCLAVE, AND CHEVROLET TRAVERSE HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM OF THE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS MELTING AND FAILING. THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN CONCERNING THE DEFECT ( SATURN TSB #09-08-42-004) STATING THAT THE HARNESS SHOULD BE REPLACED (WITH THE SAME HARNESS, SO THE PROBLEM CONTINUES) AND NYOGEL GEL SHOULD BE USED AT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION POINT. THE MELTING WIRING HARNESS IS A FIRE HAZARD. I HAVE THE HARNESS IF YOU WANT IT. *TR
EXCESSIVE BRAKE FLUID USAGE. NO LEAKS FOUND AND STILL CONTINUES TO USE BRAKE FLUID AT THE RATE OF 2OZ. PER 500 MILES. *TR
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR FAILS TO RECOGNIZE THAT THERE IS A PASSENGER ON THE SEAT AND THE SENSOR CONTINUES TO DISPLAY OFF, EVEN WHEN THE SEAT BELT SENSOR STATES THAT THERE IS A PASSENGER AND THAT THE SEAT BELT MUST BE LATCHED. AFTER LATCHING THE SEATBELTS, THE AIRBAG SENSOR STILL SHOWS OFF. THE DEALER WAS CHARGING $126 DOLLARS TO CHECK THE PROBLEM TODAY 9/27/11. *TT
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH IN EXTREMELY HEAVY RAIN CONDITIONS. SUDDENLY, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING BECAME DIM AND THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWERING STEERING FOR A PERIOD OF THIRTY SECONDS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE FRONT FENDER LINER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE IDENTICAL FAILURES CONTINUED TO OCCUR AFTER THE SERVICE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,689.
HEADLIGHT WIRE HARNESS FAILURE, HEADLIGHT STOPPED WORKING AT 39,000 MILES, CHANGED THE BULB AND FOUND MELTED WIRES BY THE BULB. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK, PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS. BULBS BURN OUT EVERY 4-6 MONTHS. HARNESS MELTED THE INSULATION OFF THE WIRES MAKING IT A FIRE HAZARD. DEALER WOULD NOT REPLACE, AS WE BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN 2008. THE HARNESS NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED TO HANDLE THE LOAD OF THE HEADLIGHT. *TR
WHILE AT IDLE, THE STEERING PUMP STARTED "WHINING". THE NOISE STOPPED AFTER GETTING UP TO SPEED. SEVERAL TIMES, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN, THE STEERING COLUMN SEIZED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SKID AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. IT SEEMED TO ONLY OCCUR DURING RAIN. *TR
COMPLETE FAILURE OF FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPER ASSEMBLY DURING RAINSTORMS. FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED THREE TIMES AND BEEN REPAIRED BY DEALER. TWO OF THE FAILURES OCCURRED DURING HEAVY RAINSTORMS ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
THE RIGHT FRONT HEAD LIGHT WIRING HARNESS MELTS DOWN CAUSING A HEAD LIGHT FAILURE. *KB
WHEN PURCHASED WE WERE TOLD THERE HAD BEEN A PROBLEM WITH SUNROOF LEAKAGE BUT IT HAD BEEN FIXED. SINCE THEN 5 TIMES IN FOR REPAIR LEAKING SUNROOF WATER COMING OUT OF AIRBAG HOLDERS, DOME LIGHTS ,OVERHEAD ELECTRONICS. SEVERAL FUSES HAVE BEEN BLOWN NOW WE WONDER IF THE SIDE IMPACT AIRBAGS ARE STILL FUNCTIONAL WATER RAN OUT BY THEM. THIS IS NOT JUST A DRIP BUT WATER POURS OUT.
MY OUTLOOK IS AT APPROXIMATELY 40,000MILES. AT ABOUT 30,000 THERE STARTED TO BE A VERY NOTICEABLE WHINE IN THE STEERING COLUMN, ESPECIALLY UPON TURNING. SEVERAL TIMES I NOTICED THE STEERING KIND OF TURNING ROUGH WITH A SHARP TURN, AS IN BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. TWO WEEKS AGO AFTER GOING THROUGH STANDING WATER IN THE ROADWAY, I BEGAN TO TURN LEFT ONTO A SIDE STREET AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP-NOT A LOSS OF POWER STEERING, THERE WAS NO WAY TO TURN THE WHEEL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE SERVICE SHOP THAT AFTERNOON. UPON DESCRIBING MY ISSUE TO THE SERVICE REP, HE STATED THAT HE HAD ONLY EVER HAD ONE VEHICLE IN WITH THAT COMPLAINT AND THAT WHAT HAD OCCURRED WAS THAT THEY DROVE THROUGH WATER, SPLASHING IT ONTO THE POWER STEERING BELT (WHICH WAS WORN) CAUSING IT TO SLIP. AFTER DROPPING THE CAR OFF I DID SOME RESEARCH ON MY OWN AND FOUND MULTIPLE UNRESOLVED COMPLAINTS EXACTLY LIKE MINE POSTED ONLINE. WHEN I PICKED THE CAR UP, THEY CHARGED ME $45 AND SAID THAT I HAD SOMEHOW GOTTEN AIR IN MY POWER STEERING FLUID. MY CAR HAS DONE THIS TWICE SINCE THEN. ONCE VERY BRIEFLY WHILE LEAVING A PARKING SPOT AND AGAIN LAST NIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A DOWNPOUR. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE 4 KIDS AND I LIKED THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM-BUT THIS SCARES ME TO DEATH!! I AM TO THE POINT OF BEING AFRAID TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN. I WANT TO TAKE IT BACK FOR MORE SERVICE, BUT BASED ON WHAT I'M READING, NO ONE IS GETTING ANY RESOLUTION. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XR HEADLIGHTS GOING OFF, PS ASSIST GOING OUT, DASH GAUGES GOING TO -0- , NO BRAKE LIGHTS, NO WIPERS, ENGINE NOT SHUTTING DOWN WITH KEY OFF, LOCKED INTO PARK, NO TURN SIGNALS, LOCKS ITSELF. NOTHING REPAIRED YET, IT IS STILL IN THE REPAIR SHOP. *TR
THE HEADLAMP OVERHEATS THE PLASTIC WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR CAUSING IT TO MELT AND CREATE AN INTERMITTENT OPEN FAULT. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL FAIL TO ILLUMINATE AND/OR WILL FLASH ON AND OFF AS THE VEHICLE HITS BUMPS, ETC. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK, APPROXIMATELY 45K MILES. LAST WEEK, AFTER A PERIOD OF HEAVY RAIN, I DROVE THROUGH SEVERAL LARGE PUDDLES OF WATER. AFTER LEAVING ONE, THE STEERING SEEMED TO LOCK UP. I AM OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE DRIVEN CARS WITHOUT POWER STEERING, BUT THIS WAS MUCH WORSE. AS IT HAPPENS I WAS ALMOST HOME AND GOING QUITE SLOWLY - WAS ABLE TO GET HOME SAFELY. HAD THIS OCCURRED ON A HIGHWAY OR AT SPEED, THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT DISASTER WOULD HAVE ENSUED. I HAD ENCOUNTERED SOMETHING SIMILAR SOME MONTHS AGO AFTER WASHING MUD OUT OF MY WHEEL WELLS. HAD NOT RECURRED UNTIL RECENTLY. SCARY STUFF *TR
RIGHT HEADLIGHT GOES ON AND OFF, MELTED WIRING GOING INTO THE HEADLIGHT. WAITING FOR GM TO ALLOW SHOP OTHER THAN SATURN (MY CLOSEST DEALER CLOSED) TO WORK ON MY SATURN. *TR
I HAVE OWNED THIS SINCE NEW, ABOUT 2009 THE STEERING STARTED TO SQUEAK WHEN YOU MAKE TURNS. TOOK IT IN THEY FIX IT BUT IT HAS RETURNED. SOMETHING JUST DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT IN THE STEERING. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 GM SATURN OUTLOOK. THE AIRBAGS ALL DEPLOYED AT THE SAME TIME. GM HAS HAD MY CAR FOR INVESTIGATION FOR OVER A MONTH AND REFUSES TO PAY FOR A RENTAL. I HAVE NECK INJURY AND HAVE BEEN UNDERGOING PHYSICAL THERAPY. I HAD AN MRI DONE ON FRIDAY. THEY KEEP GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND AND I HAVE BEEN OUT THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND MY CAR JUST SITS WHILE THEY DO NOTHING BUT ASK ME TO SEND PROOF OF OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES ETC. I SENT RECEIPT FOR RENTAL AND SHE SENT AN EMAIL REQUESTING THE METHOD OF PAYMENT THAT I USED. WHY IS THAT RELEVANT?? *TR
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP FOR A FEW SECONDS. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN WET, RAINY WEATHER. IT APPEARS THAT WATER IS SPLASHING ON THE BELTS WHICH CAUSES A TEMPORARY LOSS OF STEERING. WHILE RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM, I'VE COME ACROSS SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. GM HAS NOT OFFERED A SOLUTION, SINCE MY DEALERSHIP CANNOT 'REPLICATE THE PROBLEM' WHILE THE CAR IS IN SERVICE. IF NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT THIS DESIGN FLAW, THE RESULT WOULD BE A SERIOUS CRASH AND DEATH.
POWER STEERING FAILS ON MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT 3 TIMES BUT FAILED. IT'S CURRENTLY AT DEALER NOW FOR THE 4TH ATTEMPT. IT'S BEEN THERE FOR THE LAST 21 DAYS. I NEVER KNOW WHEN STEERING IS GOING TO FAIL. IT USED TO ONLY FAIL WHEN I WENT THROUGH PUDDLES BUT NOW IT DOES IT EVEN ON A DRY DAY. I HAVE ALMOST HIT TELEPHONE POLES, TREES, CARS AND PEOPLE. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED IF SATURN CANNOT FIX THIS PROBLEM. I DROPPED CAR OFF ON JUNE 7, 2009 WITH NO POWER STEERING. THEY RETURNED IT TO ME ON JUNE 25. I DROVE ONLY A FEW MILES BEFORE THE STEERING FAILED AGAIN. LUCKILY, I WAS TURNING INTO PARKING LOT AT THE TIME SO I WAS NOT GOING THAT FAST. I ALMOST WENT UP SIDEWALK AND INTO A TREE. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED FROM PARKING LOT. *TR
WHEN DRIVING DURING OR AFTER A HEAVY RAIN THROUGH PUDDLES OUR SATURN OUTLOOK LOOSES ANY STEERING CAPABILITY. HAVE GONE TO DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND A WHEEL LINER WAS INSTALLED BUT THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
APPROXIMATELY MID-YEAR 2009, THE RIGHT SIDE LOW-BEAM HEAD LIGHT WENT OUT ON MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE BULB WAS REPLACED WITH AN AFTER-MARKET BULB BUT TO MY SURPRISE, THE LIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN WITHIN 2-3 WEEKS. UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE SATURN DEALERSHIP, THE ENTIRE RIGHT FRONT HEAD LIGHT AREA WAS REPLACED AS THE BACKGROUND WIRING HAD COMPLETELY MELTED. THE COST WAS OVER $500. THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY AT THE TIME, HENCE THERE WAS NO COST TO ME. ON SATURDAY, JULY 2, 2011 HOWEVER, THE SAME RIGHT SIDE HEAD LIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN. UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE GM DEALERSHIP ON WEDNESDAY JULY 6, 2011, I AM NOW TOLD THAT THE COILS HAVE COMPLETELY MELTED AGAIN AND THE COST THIS TIME TO ME IS $212. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! THIS HAS GOT TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AS I AM CONCERNED WITH WHAT IS ACTUALLY GETTING SO VERY HOT THAT IS MELTING THE COILS. I AM MORE CONCERNED THAT THIS TYPE OF HEAT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A FIRE. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO PREVENT AN UNNECESSARY TRAGEDY/ACCIDENT.
PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP SOCKET/WIRING HARNESS MELTED. BOTH (DRIVER SIDE / PASSENGER SIDE) LOW BEAM HEADLAMP SOCKET/WIRING HARNESS HAVE MELTED IN THE PAST TWO YEARS. LIGHT BULB WAS OEM BULB AND WAS NOT BURNT OUT. NSTB NEEDS TO ISSUE RECALL AND GET GM TO REPLACE WITH MORE SUITABLE SOCKET/WIRING HARNESS. *TR
MY HEADLIGHT IN MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK BURNED OUT. WHEN INQUIRED ON REPLACEMENT, I WAS INFORMED I NEEDED A WHOLD NEW HEADLIGHT HARNESS - TOTAL COST $676 + TAX FOR A HEADLIGHT! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND IN THE STEERING COLUMN. SHE ALSO EXPERIENCED GEAR SLIPPAGE. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND STEERING COLUMN. SEVERAL WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE RESURFACED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE COOLANT LINES. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE REPAIR, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,600 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN RAINY WEATHER, IF YOU DRIVE THROUGH STANDING WATER PUDDLES ALONG SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE WATER SPRAY WASHES UP ON THE BELTS AND YOU LOOSE STEERING ABILITY OF THE VEHICLE, YOU MUST MAN HANDLE THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE ANY TURNS, IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND COVERS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE WHEEL WELLS, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS, MAKING THIS A SAFETY AND POSSIBLE CRASH HAZARD. *TR
THERE WERE SEVERAL INCIDENTS WHERE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WOULD SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. YOU WOULD LOSE STEERING, BRAKING, RADIO, AND A/C. THERE WAS NEVER AN ACCIDENT . THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALER DURING AN OIL CHANGE, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. I NO LONGER OWN THE VEHICLE, BUT AFTER HEARING ABOUT THE LATEST RECALL, I NOTICED THAT THE OUTLOOK WAS NOT INCLUDED. THERE SHOULD POSSIBLY BE A WIDENING OF THE AFFECTED MODELS DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THIS MODEL. MY FAMILY HAD 7-10 INCIDENTS, BUT NONE WERE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45 MPH. WE HAVE A 07 SATURN OUTLOOK THAT HAS A WIRING PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR OR SO AND BEGAN WHEN OUR VEHICLE WAS AT APPROX 38,000 MILES. WE HAVE CHANGED THE BULB SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT BURNS OUT WITHIN A WEEK OR TWO OF REPLACING IT. THE WIRING IS MELTED AT THE SOCKET FOR THE LIGHT BULB. WE TOOK IT IN TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD WE WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLAMP UNIT AND THAT IT WOULD COST APPROX $500.00 - $600.00 TO DO SO AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY, NOR WHERE THERE ANY RECALLS. WE HAVE TRIED TO FIND THE PART AT SEVERAL AUTO PART STORES (RIELLY'S, AUTOZONE) BUT NOBODY SELLS IT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE SERVICE AGENT AT THE DEALER SAID THEY SEE A LOT OF THESE. *TR
PASSENGER HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS, MULTIPLE TRIPS TO DEALERSHIP TO FIX, STILL NOT WORKING, APPEARS WIRING HARNESS IS MELTED. OTHER SATURN OUTLOOK OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE SMALL CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE ARE ABLE TO PULL THE LEVER OUT OF THE MIDDLE REAR SEAT IN THE VEHICLE. THIS CAUSES THE SEAT TO FALL BACKWARDS. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED THAT IT MAY CAUSE POTENTIAL HARM IF THERE IS A CHILD SEATED IN THE BACK SEAT. ALSO, IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE SEAT COULD COLLAPSE ON A CHILD SEATED IN THE THIRD ROW SEATS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE AND THE SEATS WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED WITH THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 18,000. SATURN OUTLOOK HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS DEFECT. *TR
THERE IS A DISTINCT GROANING NOISE COMING FROM THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. THE NOISE IS MOST PROMINENT WHEN THE CAR IS FULLY WARMED UP, BUT OCCURS NEARLY ANY TIME. WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED SLIGHTLY FROM CENTER IN EITHER DIRECTION, THE NOISE INTENSIFIES, AND A DISTINCT VIBRATION CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS SOME PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING PUMP OR OTHER STEERING COMPONENTS. I HAD THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND OF COURSE THEY CLAIMED THERE IS NO NOISE. I LEFT IT THERE FOR MULTIPLE PEOPLE TO TRY IT, AS MY ENTIRE FAMILY HEARS THE NOISE, BUT OF COURSE ONLY THE DRIVER CAN FEEL THE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. MY FEAR IS THAT WHATEVER COMPONENT(S) IS/ARE FAILING, THEY WILL TOTALLY FAIL ON THE HIGHWAY, EITHER COMPROMISING THE STEERING OR LEAVING OUR FAMILY STRANDED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE KEY FAILED TO RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. ALSO, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
VEHICLE HAS LAGS (CAR DOESN'T PICK UP SPEED WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED DOWN) AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT SPEEDS. MOST NOTICEABLE IS THE 40 MILE AN HOUR RANGE. SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO GET ON HIGHWAY AND NOT BE ABLE TO ADVANCE THE VEHICLE IN A SAFE MANNER. ONE TIME, A TRUCK WAS VERY CLOSE TO HITTING ME, BECAUSE IT TOOK ABOUT 2 SECONDS FOR MY VEHICLE TO RESPOND TO THE ACCELERATOR. DEALER HAS PERFORMED 3 SOFTWARE UPDATES (DEALER HAS ADMITTED THAT THESE UPDATES HAVE BEEN PROVIDED TO THE CONSUMER AND HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO PERFORM THESE UPDATES) TO THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING AND THEY CLAIM THAT THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO. *TR
PROBLEMS WITH PASSENGER AIRBAG - SOMETIMES IT WOULD SAY OFF WHEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED AND SOMETIMES IT WOULD SAY ON AND THEN TURN OFF AFTER SOME TIME. HAD TO HAVE WORK DONE ON THE FUEL PUMP, THEN THE DRIVE SHAFT WENT TO THE POINT WHERE IT CAR HAD TO BE TOWED. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS NEVER HAPPENS. CURRENTLY, THE CAR NOW KICKS BACK WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST MOVED FOR THAT DAY AND THE DASH BOARD WILL FLASH, EITHER, SPEED LIMITED TO 108PMH (WHEN PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY), PARK ASSIST IS OFF (WHEN IT IS ON),OR TRACTION CONTROL IS OFF (WHEN IT HAS NEVER BEEN TOUCHED) - THE CAR WILL ALSO SHUT OFF WITHOUT ME DOING SO. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A SATURN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THAT THEY CAN FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I AM CURRENTLY FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR. AFTER A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL ITEMS ON OUR 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK IT WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. WHILE IN FOR REPAIRS WE TOLD THEM THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT WORK CONSISTENTLY. WE EVEN LATER SENT VIDEO SHOWING IT OFF WHEN A 130 LB PASSENGER WAS IN THE SEAT... AND THE CAR WAS GOING 50MPH DOWN THE ROAD. THEY STILL SAY IT IS WORKING PROPERLY. THE AIRBAG IS ON ONE MINUTE, THEN OFF... DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO ERROR CODES, HOWEVER IT SHOULD BE ON WITH 130LB PERSON IN THE SEAT EACH AND EVERY TIME.. NOT JUST WHEN IT NOTICES THEY ARE THERE. *TR
MY WIFE AND I OWN A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XR, WHICH WE BROUGHT BRAND NEW. AFTER 1 YEAR, WE WERE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE SATURN OUTLOOK TRYING TO FIND GEARS, AND THE THROTTLE RESPONSE WAS DISAPPOINTING. WHEN PASSING, YOU PRESS THE THROTTLE, AND THERE IS A 15 SECOND HESITATION, BEFORE THE VEHICLE STARTS TO PICK UP SPEED. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR TRANSMISSION RECALLS, WHERE THEY HAVE UPDATED THE SOFTWARE. I DID THIS THREE TIMES, IT WOULD LAST FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, AND START RIGHT BACK MALFUNCTIONING. NOW MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, AND GUESS WHAT, THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT, WHILE ON I-55, IN CHICAGO, ON MY WAY TO WORK..WOW! $4,032.00 TO REPLACE, BRAND NEW. I PAID THIS BECAUSE I FELT THAT IT WAS CHEAPER THAN ANOTHER CAR PAYMENT. I AM SO ANGRY AT GM, BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT THIS TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY, AND ALL THEY DID WAS TAKE MY MONEY, AND LEFT ME HANGING. I AM JUST LIKE OTHER HARD WORKING FAMILIES OUT THERE, WHO JUST CAN'T COUGH UP 4 GRAND, AND IT NOT PUT A DENT IN YOUR BUDGET. I OWN A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XE. THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG DOES NOT APPEAR TO ENGAGE WHEN MY WIFE WHO WEIGHS 120 POUNDS SITS IN THE SEAT. THERE IS A LIGHT IN THE DASH THAT TOGGLES ON OR OFF BASED ON IF SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. MANY TIMES WHEN I'M DRIVING AND MY WIFE IS IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE LIGHT WILL BE "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" MODE. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK HEADLIGHTS. HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AROUND 20,000 MILES SENT TO DEALER FIXED. HEADLIGHT GOES OUT AGAIN AROUND 5,000 MILES LATER TOOK TO DEALER REPLACED HEADLIGHT. FINE FOR ANOTHER 20,000 MILES AND AGAIN SAME PROBLEM. THIS TIME OUT OF WARRANTY. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS STARTING FROM A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. FAST FORWARD TO JAN 2012 WE HAD A MAJOR LEAK INSIDE THE CAR. WATER MAKING A "SWISHING" SOUND OVERHEAD FROM WATER STORING IN THE HEADLINER. WATER WAS COMING FROM AIR BAGS, SHADE COVERS, BELOW THE GLOVE BOX, AND INSIDE THE WINDOWS. HAD A MAJOR LEAK IN PASSENGER FLOOR. THE AIR HASN'T WORKED SINCE SEPT. AND MAKES A LOUD "HISSING" SOUND, INSTRUMENT PANEL JUST DISAPPEARS, DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT GOES ON AND OFF. GM WON'T DO ANYTHING. TOOK TO DEALER AND PAID $640 TO FIX HEADLINER LEAK, BUT READING OTHER POSTS IT'S A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT WILL LEAK AGAIN. NEW 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK FROM DEALER ON OCTOBER23, 2007. ON MONDAY, JANUARY 14. 2008. FLUID FOUND UNDER CAR PARKED IN GARAGE. CAR HAS 1800 MILES. DEALER ADVISED I BRING CAR IN. UPON STARTING CAR, I HEARD HORRENDOUS NOISE FROM UNDER HOOD. BACKING OUT OF GARAGE, I FOUND STEERING DID NOT WORK. CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, SATURN OF CLARKSTON. THEY PROVIDED SMALL RENTAL CAR AS LOANER. TECHNICIAN DID NOT LOOK AT OUTLOOK UNTIL AFTERNOON OF WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16, 2008, SUBSEQUENT TO SEVERAL CALLS FROM ME. PROBLEM IDENTIFIED AS THE HOSE/COIL CARRYING COOLING FLUID FOR POWER STEERING. REQUIRED PART HAS BEEN TAKING AT LEAST WEEK AND A HALF TO GET. I SAID MY WIFE AND I RENTED A HOUSE IN FLORIDA AND NEEDED THE OUTLOOK FOR THIS TRIP. THE SERVICE PERSON CHECKED FURTHER AND THEN TOLD ME THE PART WOULD BE IN THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY OR MONDAY. PART DID NOT COME IN AS I WAS TOLD. I HAVE TALKED WITH PARTS MANAGER AND SERVICE MANAGER AT DEALER, AND SATURN CUSTOMER SERVICE. ( DEALER OWNER NOT IN WHEN I CALLED.) I LEARNED THAT THIS DEALERSHIP ALONE HAS OWNERS OF FIVE OTHER OUTLOOKS (ALL 2007'S, I THINK) AWAITING THE SAME PART, AND THAT THE PROBLEM IS NATIONAL. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART! APPARENTLY SATURN (AND, I ASSUME) THE CORPORATION HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE. I AM CONCERNED I PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE WHICH MAY HAVE HAD A KNOWN POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE PART. WE WERE FORTUNATE FLUID LEAKAGE AND LOSS OF STEERING OCCURRED WHERE AND WHEN IT DID, AND NOT WHILE MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING TO FLORIDA. I DON'T KNOW IF POWER STEERING MIGHT HAVE FAILED WHILE I WAS ACTUALLY DRIVING. I ADVISED SERVICE MANAGER I WAS GOING TO CONTACT NHTSA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED HE TELL THE DEALERSHIP OWNER. HE SAID DEALERSHIP DOING ALL IT COULD. HE ASKED WHEN HOUSE RENTAL IN FLORIDA BEGAN. I TOLD HIM, "FEBRUARY 1," AND WE PLANNED TO TAKE SEVERAL DAYS TO DRIVE THERE WITH OUR DOGS. THE FAILURE WAS THE POWER STEERING PUMP ON A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK, 3.6L ENGINE. THE FIRST SIGN OF FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE TAKING A CURVE AT 45 MPH. THE STEERING FROZE THEN FREEDUP AND FROZE AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES IN JUST A FEW SECONDS CAUSING ME TO NEARLY LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WENT FROM THE DITCH TO OVER THE CENTERLINE BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. AFTER THIS INCIDENT THE STEERING MADE CONTINUOUS NOISE AND FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER AT LOW SPEEDS WITHOUT REVVING THE ENGINE. BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE I HAD TO PAY OVER $500.00 FOR THE REPAIR. I HAVE HEARD OF MANY MANY MORE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURES ON THE 3.6L ENGINE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR THE STEERING DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT AN INCIDENT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF WHEN 100 LB. DAUGHTER IN FRONT SEAT. THIS HAPPENS 95% OF THE TIME. ALSO, IS INTERMITTENTLY ON AND OFF WITH 127 LBS. DAUGHTER. THE CAR WAS CHECKED BY SATURN IN CATHEDRAL CITY(WHICH HAS CLOSED) AND GM ON VARNER RD IN INDIO. NEITHER FOUND ANY THING WRONG. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO SATURN IN RIVERSIDE( AN HOUR AWAY) THEY FOUND THAT THE SENSOR WAS PUT IN INCORRECTLY. HOWEVER WHEN I GOT HOME THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO RIVERSIDE. THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE RODE WITH A GIRL PROBABLY 125 LBS AND WHEN THEY WENT AROUND A CORNER SHE SLID AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF. I SAID SOMEONE WOULD SLIDE IN AN ACCIDENT OR YOU COULD TAKE A TURN AND HIT SOMETHING AND THE AIRBAG WOULD BE OFF. I ASKED HIM TO PUT THAT SHE SLID ON THE INVOICE BUT HE REFUSED AND SAID SHE WASN'T SEATING PROBABLY. HE KEPT TELLING ME CHILDREN ARE SAFER IN THE BACK SEAT. ISN'T EVERYONE? LEGALLY SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BE THERE. SHE'S 12,5'4" AND 100. LBS. MY HUSBAND HAS A PONTIAC AND THE AIRBAG IS ON EVERY TIME SHE'S THERE. RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY OLDER DAUGHTER AND THE INDICATOR WENT OFF. CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE RIVERSIDE SAYS THERE'S NO PROBLEM. 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK, CONSUMER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF REJECTION. * BF THE SUNROOF LEAKED, THE REAR WIPER WAS BROKEN AND THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG DID NOT ACTIVATE. THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WAS IMPROPERLY ALIGNED FROM A PREVIOUS REPAIR AND THE FRONT WIPERS FAILED. LAST MONTH, THE POWER STEERING FUNCTION WAS SEVERELY COMPROMISED WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A HEAVY RAINSTORM. THE POWER STEERING WAS PROVIDING INCONSISTENT FEEDBACK WHICH APPEARED TO BE CAUSED BY A SLIPPING BELT TO THE POWER STEERING PUMP. *JB

GIVEN THAT THE BATTERY HAS DIED ON ME SIX TIMES, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT LONG TERM ELECTRICAL DAMAGE AND PROPER AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR FIVE TIMES. *TR
