DRIVERSIDE HEADLAMP ON LOW BEAM TURNED OFF, REPLACED BULB AND WENT OFF AGAIN WITHIN 3 WEEKS, HARNESS IS CAUSING A SHORT THEREFORE REPLACING THE BULB MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. *TR
I HAVE A SATURN OUTLOOK AND THE FRONT HEADLAMPS ARE FLICKERING AND SOMETIMES GOING OUT COMPLETELY. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION AND ALL OUTLOOK OWNERS SHOULD BE NOTIFIED ASAP. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH HEADLIGHT WIRING BURNING RESULTING IN LOSS OF LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT FUNCTIONALITY. MY INCIDENT OCCURRED ON THE RIGHT LOW BEAM HEADLAMP SOCKET. THE HEADLIGHT WOULD GO OUT AND COME BACK ON INTERMITTENTLY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE BECOMING COMPLETELY NONOPERATIONAL. AFTER DISCOVERING ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS WAS A COMMON COMPLAINT AMONG OTHERS OWNING THIS VEHICLE, I CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. I TOOK IT INTO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER PER THEIR REQUEST AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A CORRODED SOCKET. SINCE I WAS SURE THE SOCKET WAS PLASTIC I QUESTIONED THIS BUT WENT AHEAD AND HAD THEM ORDER ME A NEW SOCKET AND REPLACE BOTH THE SOCKET AND THE LIGHT BULB. I ASKED FOR THE OLD SOCKET BACK. UPON INSPECTION, THE OLD SOCKET WAS CLEARLY MELTED AND HAD BLACKENED BURNED AREAS ON THE WIRING. THE SOCKET WAS BURNED TO THE POINT THAT IT WOULD NO LONGER HOLD THE HEADLIGHT BULB. REPLACEMENT WITH PARTS AND LABOR WAS APPROX $200. REPORTED ISSUE TO SATURN, PROVIDED THEM WITH COPIES OF OTHER CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS AROUND SAME ISSUE FROM OTHER SATURN OUTLOOK OWNERS. I SUGGESTED THAT HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT INTERMITTENTLY COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE AS IS BURNING WIRES. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REIMBURSE ME AND DID NOT FEEL A RECALL WAS IN ORDER. I READ ON THE INTERNET THAT THERE WAS A SERVICE ALERT ISSUED FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THAT ALERT BASED ON THE VIN PER GM. I HAVE THE OLD SOCKET AND LIGHT BULB THAT WAS REPLACED. POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE AS LOSS OF HEADLIGHT FUNCTIONALITY IS SUDDEN AND INTERMITTENT. *TR
SAFETY CONCERN FOR 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK: LOW BEAM HEAD LAMP FAILURE DUE TO MELTED WIRE CONNECTOR AT BULBS. THE WIRE USED FOR THE HARNESS AND CONNECTION AT BULBS IS VERY LIGHT GAUGE AND REPEATEDLY BURNS THE WIRE, BULB, AND MELTS THE CONNECTOR. THIS CAUSES OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS INCLUDING POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. WHEN OPERATING THIS VEHICLE DURING NON-DAYLIGHT HOURS OR IN TIMES OF POOR VISIBILITY, DRIVERS MUST HAVE DEPENDABLE EXTERIOR LIGHTING FIXTURES. EXCLUDING EXPIRED BULBS OR NEGLIGENT MAINTENANCE, DRIVERS OF THIS VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF WIRING, CONNECTIONS, AND WIRE HARNESSES THAT HAVE FAILED (SOMETIMES REPEATEDLY) DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER'S WORKMANSHIP/DESIGN. FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL MOTORISTS, THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS VEHICLE SHOULD CORRECT THE DESIGN AND/OR WORKMANSHIP CAUSING, OR RELATED TO, THE HEAD LAMP FAILURE. *TR
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS MELTED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER AT A COST OF $250. I REPLACED THE HEADLIGHTS 4 TIMES IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2010 BEFORE I LEARNED ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS ON THE SATURN FORUM. *TR
HAD A HEADLIGHT REPLACED IN THE SATURN OUTLOOK 2007 XE. THE LIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN AND MELTED THE WIRING HARNESS AND FUSE. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS HAPPENED TO MANY SATURN OWNERS AND SATURN EVEN HAS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM BUT DOESN'T NOTIFY SATURN OWNERS OF THE ISSUE OR HELP FIX IT. A RECALL IS WARRANTED. MELTED WIRING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN A CAR. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK THE WIRING HARNESS ON THE HEADLIGHT CONNECTOR BURNS UP. THERE IS NO WARNING THIS ABOUT TO OCCUR. DURING NIGHT DRIVING THE LOW BEAMS CAN GO OUT LEAVING ONLY HIGH BEAMS. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK AND LOW BEAM WIRING HARNESS NEEDS REPLACED ON IT. HAS 37000 MILES ON IT. JUST PAST WARRANTY. SATURN IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AND ITS HARD TO FIND PARTS, ESPECIALLY WITH CHEVROLET AND GMC TO GO SEE A SATURN DEALER, EVEN THOUGH THE ACADIA, TRAVERSE, OUTLOOK, AND ENCLAVE ARE THE EXACT SAME CARS. I THINK FACTORY WARRANTY SHOULD FIX THIS. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. BOTH HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESSES MELTED RESULTING IN NON-WORKING HEADLIGHTS. IT TURNS OUT THAT GM IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS A TSB FOR IT. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. FAR TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR GM LAMDA PLATFORM CROSSOVERS (GMC ACADIA, SATURN OUTLOOK, BUICK ENCLAVE, CHEVY TRAVERSE). THE WIRING IS TOO LIGHT A GAGE OF WIRE. THE HARNESSES MELT AND THEN SHORT OUT. THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF HEADLIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT OR, WORSE, A FIRE. IN MY CASE I SAW THE SMOKE AND TURNED CAR OFF BEFORE IT BECAME A FIRE. *TR
ELECTRIC DRIVER'S SEAT ON 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK IS BROKEN AND NO LONGER MOVES FORWARD, IT IS BROKEN IN THE FARTHEST BACK POSITION. I CAN BARELY REACH THE PEDALS AND MY FOOT HAS SLIPPED OFF THE GAS AND THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK THE CAR INTO SATURN AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE $645.00 TO REPAIR. I DON'T BELIEVE THE SEAT SHOULD HAVE BROKEN SO SOON (OR AT ALL), 3 YEARS OLD WITH 54,000 MILES ON CAR. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY DID THEIR INVESTIGATION (IF YOU CALL IT THAT) AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR REPAIRS, OR EVEN GIVE ME A DISCOUNTED PRICE ON THE REPAIR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS IN THE HEADLIGHTS WAS MELTING, CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE HEADLIGHTS CONTINUED TO BLOW OUT. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,290. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.
POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN WATER SPLASHES ONTO FAN BELT ON 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. HAPPENS ON WET ROADS. ON INCIDENT DATE, VEHICLE WOULD NOT MAINTAIN LANE DURING RIGHT HAND TURN ONTO TWO LANE ROAD FROM A FULL STOP. VEHICLE ENDED UP IN ON-COMING TRAFFIC LANE BEFORE STEERING RETURNED. THIS AFTER THE NEW DESIGNED INNER FENDER SKIRTS WERE INSTALLED AS THE PERMANENT "FIX". NEW PARTS INSTALLED BY DEALER NOW SERVICING SATURNS IN AUGUSTA GEORGIA. MASTER MECHANIC SAID THAT THIS "FIX" HAS ONLY WORKED ON 50% OF HIS REPAIRS. HE CHECKED OUT THE REPAIRS, STATED THEY WERE INSTALLED CORRECTLY AND THAT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE SUGGESTED AT THIS TIME. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT GM MUST FULLY RESOLVE. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, AND THE FIRST SINCE INSTALLATION OF NEW INNER FENDER SKIRTS INSTALLED IN JANUARY 2010. UP UNTIL THEN THERE WAS NO REPAIR AVAILABLE. NOW THIS REPAIR DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
DURING RAIN, THE WATER ENTERS THE CAR FROM THE DRIVER SIDE A PILLAR AND PASSENGER SIDE A PILLAR WHERE IS CONNECTS TO THE ROOF AND AT THE FLOOR, CAUSING CARPET TO WET. VISITING VARIOUS GM DEALERSHIP, I HAVE NOT FOUND A SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE, THAT CAN GET THE ISSUE FIXED. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT ON 6/15/10 ENROUTE FROM OR TO CO. TOOK TO OUT OF TOWN DEALER TO REPAIR & FOUND THE HARNESS WIRING HAD MELTED. DEALER SAID TAKES A WEEK TO GET PART & SHOULD TAKE CARE OF WHEN I GET BACK HOME. CALLED DEALER @ HOME AND IS 7 TO 10 DAYS TO GET PART. ALSO SAID I AM OUT OF WARRANTY AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR PART PLUS LABOR TO INSTALL. OUT OF TOWN DEALER IN CO SAID THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF HARNESS FAILURES BUT NO RECALL ISSUED YET. *TR
MY DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT ARE INTERMITTENT. SOMETIMES ON AND OFF. OTHER SATURN OUTLOOK USERS HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LIGHT FAILED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE HEADLAMP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHILE REPLACING THE LIGHT, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE WIRING HARNESS THAT CONNECTED THE LAMP WAS CAUSING THE DEFECT. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,500 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE SPORADICALLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO LOCATE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V062000 (AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE), IN WHICH SHE WAS EXPERIENCING ALL THE SYMPTOMS. THE DEALER ADVISED HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THERE WAS AN UNUSUAL INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO FIFTH GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWLY DRIVEN BACK TO HER RESIDENCE. LATER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AND THE THIRD GEAR STOPPED WORKING. SHE STATED THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO INDEPENDENTLY SHIFT FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES WHERE THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUTCH PLATE AND OTHER DAMAGED PARTS. THE TRANSMISSION SEALS AND SENSOR WERE ALSO REPLACED DUE TO A LEAK. THE DEALER ALSO CLEANED METAL SHAVINGS FROM THE TRANSMISSION TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE MANUFACTURER EXPENSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,475 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,972.
HAVE TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT AND WIRING HARNESS EVERY 2 WEEKS. *TR
07 SATURN OUTLOOK HEADLIGHT FAILURE. REPLACED FRONT RIGHT HEADLIGHT WITH COST OF APPROXIMATELY $500 DUE TO THE WIRES MELTING. SOON AFTER REPLACING FRONT RIGHT HEADLIGHT THE FRONT LEFT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. DEALERSHIP IS STATING COST WOULD BE $500 DUE TO WIRES MELTING. *TR
2007 SATURN OUTLOOK XR DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP IS EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT OPERATION. UPON PERSONAL INSPECTION OF THE HEADLAMP, THERE WAS EVIDENCE OF AN ELECTRICAL "MELT" OF THE CONNECTOR WIRES FROM THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP. EVIDENCE SUGGEST THAT THIS PROBLEM STEMS FROM A LESS THAN SUFFICIENT WIRING HARNESS INSTALLED IN THIS AND SIMILAR MODEL GM VEHICLES FROM 2007 TO THE PRESENT. IT IS NOT PRIVY TO HAVE A CUSTOMER PAY ADDITIONAL CHARGES TO AUTHORIZED DEALERS FOR SERVICE ON LESS THAN ADEQUATE PARTS THAT WERE USED IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE VEHICLE. AS HEADLAMPS ARE AN ESSENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE AND NECESSARY FOR NIGHTTIME/UNCLEAR WEATHER CONDITIONS DRIVING, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THIS PROBLEM BE RESOLVED. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS AND FORUMS ON THIS MODEL AND SIMILAR MODEL VEHICLES EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME MALFUNCTION WITH BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVERS' SIDE HEADLAMPS BEING INVOLVED. HOPEFULLY THIS REPORT WILL LEAD TO AN INVESTIGATION THAT ULTIMATELY RESULTS IN A NECESSARY AND APPROPRIATE RECALL BY GENERAL MOTORS. *TR
MY LOWBEAM HEADLIGHT WENT OUT IN MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. I REPLACED THE LIGHT AND IT WENT OUT AGAIN A DAY LATER. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THE WIRING HARNESS IS MELTED AND THE WIRING GOING INTO THE HARNESS IS BURNT. THIS IS DUE TO TOO MUCH VOLTAGE CAUSING THE HARNESS TO MELT. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH MANY SATURN OUTLOOKS IT HAS YET TO BE A RECALL. THIS IS NOT ONLY A MANUFACTURE ISSUE BUT A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT COULD RESULT IN A FIRE. THE WIRING HARNESS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE SO THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT HAS TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM WENT OUT. UPON OPENING THE HOOD WHEN I STOPPED I NOTICED THE DISTINCT ODOR OF BURNT PLASTIC. UPON FURTHER EVALUATION WHILE REMOVING THE BULB I OBSERVED THAT THE INSULATION FOR THE WIRING HARNESS HAD MELTED OFF AND SHORTED AT THE INTERFACE BETWEEN THE WIRE AND CONNECTOR. THE CONTACT FOR THE BULB ALSO EXHIBITED CHARRING AT THE CONNECTOR CONTACT. AN INTERNET SEARCH FOR A REPLACEMENT BULB ALERTED ME THAT THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN (09-08-42-004) ADDRESSING THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS HARNESS SHOULD THE HEADLIGHT FAIL. I FEEL THIS IS A OEM DESIGN FLAW AND SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE HARNESS CAN SHORT OUT TO THE POINT TO WHERE THE INSULATION IS MELTED COMPLETELY OFF EXPOSING BARE WIRES. *TR
THE LEFT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT HAD TO BE REPLACED ABOUT 3 WEEKS AFTER WE BOUGHT VEHICLE. IT IS NOW A YEAR AND A HALF LATER AND THE LIGHT IS OUT AGAIN. THE LIGHT THEY TOOK OUT WASN'T EVEN BAD, SO IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS AND VERY EXPENSIVE. *TR
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT, I LOST STEERING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THEY ASKED IF I DROVE THROUGH A PUDDLE. IT WAS RAINING DURING THE INCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP STATED WATER PROBABLY GOT ON THE BELTS AND CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THEY STATED INNER FENDER GUARDS COULD HELP SOLVE THE PROBLEM. MY INCIDENT ONLY OCCURRED AT ABOUT 5 -10 MPH, BUT IT GETS ME A LITTLE NERVOUS IF THIS OCCURRED ON A HIGHWAY AROUND 55 - 60 MPH. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE IS MORE TO THE PROBLEM THEN JUST WATER GETTING ON THE POWER STEERING BELTS. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP WENT OUT. ASSUMED IT WAS JUST A BURNED BULB BUT WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS ADVISED THAT THE HEADLAMP WIRING HARNESS HAD ACTUALLY MELTED. THE HARNESS AND BULB WERE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $300 WHICH NEITHER GM NOR THE DEALERSHIP WERE WILLING TO COVER, DESPITE THE FACT THAT NOT ONLY COULD IT BE A FIRE/SAFETY HAZARD BUT THAT THE COMPANY IS FULLY AWARE OF IT AS THEY ISSUED A TSB IN REGARDS TO THE ISSUE ("TSB #09-08-42-004 "LOW BEAM HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT/DIAGNOSIS (INSPECT FUSE, BULB, HARNESS, REPLACE HARNESS AND FILL CONNECTOR CAVITY FOR LOW BEAM BULB CONNECTOR WITH NYOGEL GREASE) - (MAY 29, 2009). DOCUMENT ID: 2284787. APPLIES TO MODELS 2007-2009 SATURN OUTLOOK) THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN FLAW THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED SINCE NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS HAVE POSTED SIMILAR OCCURRENCES ON FORUMS (IE: HTTP://WWW.SATURNOUTLOOKFORUM.NET/INDEX.PHP?TOPIC=818.60). A CUSTOMER'S HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT DURING A NIGHT DRIVE WOULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, NOT TO MENTION THE POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED AND THE LINKAGES BETWEEN THE MOTORS AND WIPERS WERE INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 08V410000 (VISIBILITY: WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER: LINKAGES). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HE WOULD GET A DISCOUNT ON REPAIR EXPENSES. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
BOTH HEADLIGHTS (LOW BEAMS) GO OUT AT RANDOM TIMES AND COME BACK ON AT RANDOM TIMES. ONE OR BOTH HEADLIGHTS COULD BE OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. I HAD ONE BULB REPLACED AT A COST OF $94, HOWEVER IT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS ESPECIALLY AN ISSUE AT NIGHT WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE NEEDED FOR DRIVING. I HAVE TRIED USING THE MANUAL ON/OFF FOR THE LIGHTS, BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. IF THE LIGHTS ARE OUT, I CAN'T GET THEM TO COME BACK ON UNLESS SOMEONE GETS UNDER THE CAR, REACHES UP AND SPINS THE BULB OR ADJUSTS A WIRE TO THE POINT THAT THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON. *TR
MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK HEADLIGHT WENT OUT APRIL OF 2010, THE HEADLIGHT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET TO. I HAVE REPAIRED THIS SAME HEADLIGHT 3-TIMES AND NOW IT IS OUT AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE WIRE HARNESS SHOULD BE RECALLED. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP! VERY FRUSTRATING TO A SATURN OUTLOOK OWNER. *TR

DURING A DRIVE FROM ATLANTA, GA TO AUGUSTA GA MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK MY STEERING WOULD OCCASIONALLY RESPOND WITH A SLIGHT JERK. AT THE END OF THE TRIP DURING A RIGHT TURN INTO OUR OFFICE PARKING LOT THE POWER STEERING FAILED MOMENTARILY BUT I FINISHED THAT TURN AND THEN A LEFT TURN. AS I STARTED A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE THE POWER STEERING FAILED COMPLETELY. I USED ALL MY STRENGTH TO GET THE VEHICLE INTO THE PARKING SPOT. I STOPPED THE ENGINE AND CHECKED THE POWER STEERING WHICH APPEARED TO BE OVERFUL. I RESTARTED AND ATTEMPTED ADDITIONAL STEERING MANEUVERS WHICH WERE ALL DIFFICULT. I HAD THE VEHICLE TRANSPORTED TO THE REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED A DISINTEGRATION OF SOME INTERNAL COMPONENT OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THEY FLUSHED THE SYSTEM AND REPLACED THE PUMP. I BELIEVE THIS FAILURE UNDER OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS CRASH. *TR

2 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SATURN OUTLOOK: 1) BRAKING & BRAKE FLUID PROBLEMS. DEALER HAS REPLACED BRAKE FLUID SAYING THAT THE FACTORY BRAKE FLUID WAS NOT CORRECT. BRAKING IS STILL DIFFICULT AND BRAKE PEDAL NEEDS TO BE PRESSED MORE THAN ONCE FOR PROPER BRAKING PRESSURE TO KICK-IN. 2) SINCE NEW, THE OUTLOOK HAS A POPPING OR CRACKING SOUND WHENEVER THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED FROM RIGHT OR LEFT, AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES IN EACH DIRECTION FROM CENTER. BROUGHT MATTER TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION AND SAID OTHER REPORTS HAD BEEN MADE, BUT NO SOLUTION. *TR

OUR 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK EXPERIENCED COMPLETE SYSTEM FAILURE -IE EVERYTHING TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING - MORE THAN ONCE. AFTER MANY TRIPS, SOME BY TOW TRUCK, TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT, GM FINALLY RESOLVED THE ISSUE BY REPLACING THE CAR'S COMPUTER. THIS WAS AFTER SEVERAL NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES DRIVING THE CAR AND SUDDENLY BEING WITHOUT BRAKES OR STEERING. NOW THE CAR LEAKS, FILLING THE FLOOR MATS WITH WATER, SPLASHING THE DRIVER WITH WATER AT EVERY CHANGE OF SPEED. THE SEATBELTS HAVE BLACK MOLD, AND STARTING LAST WEEK, THE CAR ISNT STARTING, LIKELY DUE TO WATER IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WE BELIEVE THE WATER COMING OUT OF THE AIR BAG HOLES MAY PREVENT THE AIR BAGS FROM FUNCTIONING PROPERLY IN A CRASH. WE ARE NOT ALONE WITH THESE PROBLEMS. WE BOUGHT THE CAR JAN 8 OF 2010 AND WAS STILL UNDER FULL WARRANTY- AFTER THE FIRST MONTH I BROUGHT INTO SATURN AND TOLD THEM OF ALL ISSUES. THEY SAID THEY GOT IT ALL FIXED IN JUNE OF 2010 BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN FOR BASICALLY SAME ISSUES AND THEY SAID THEY FIXED EVERYTHING AGAIN AND WERE ALSO CLOSING DOWN THAT DAY SO WERE HURRYING ME OUT THE DOOR. AFTER THAT HAD SAME ISSUES (ESPECIALLY STEERING WHEEL AND ENGINE PROBLEMS,OIL LEAKS, ALONG WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS) AND WE WERE DIRECTED TO GO CHEVY SINCE SATURN WAS GONE. EXPRESSED TO THEM SAME ISSUES WITH STEERING WHEEL ETC. THEY ALSO FIXED A RECALL ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. AND FIXED POWER STEERING PUMP THAT WAS BROKE TWO MONTHS LATER HAD SAME ISSUES WITH STEERING AND ENGINE AND AIRBAG SENSOR AND BROUGHT IT AGAIN AND THEY ALSO FIXED ANOTHER RECALL, IN THE HEADLAMP. (WE HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS) NOW THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION IS OUT AND OIL LEAKS AGAIN SO SINCE IT STILL UNDER POWER TRAIN THEY ARE FIXING THEM BUT GM WILL NOT APPROVE THEM TO FIX THE STEERING COLUMN THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACE NOR THE AIRBAG SENSOR ISSUE. WE HAVE CALLED THEM EVERYDAY AND SENT THEM OVER ALL OUR PAPERWORK THE LAST TWO YEARS SHOWING THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND AIRBAG SENSOR HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE BEFORE OUR FULL WARRANTY WAS UP. I JUST WANT MY CAR TO BE SAFE AND FEEL LIKE I AM IN A DEATH TRAP AND STILL OWE A LOT OF MONEY ON IT. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WIRING ISSUE. FIRST THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM WENT OUT WHILE ON VACATION, IT WAS REPAIRED AT THE SATURN DEALERSHIP IN KELOWNA, BC CAN. THEY TOLD ME THE "PIGTAIL ASSEMBLY" DID A MELTDOWN. NOW THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS GONE OUT I REPLACED THE BULB AND THAT LASTED ABOUT 24 HOURS AND IT BURNED AGAIN, THE SERVICE SHOP I TOOK IT TO TOLD ME SATURN TOLD THEM THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY TO THE TUNE OF ABOUT $600 + DOLLARS!!!! TO REPAIR A HEADLIGHT!!!!! IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR A NORMAL MAN TO GET HIS HAND IN THE AREA OF THE REAR OF THE HEADLIGHT TO CHANGE THE BULB WHICH I THINK IS RIDICULOUS BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENT MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE BUT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 07V062000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE). THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000.
PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP ON A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK HAS NOW HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE IN TWO MONTHS. WIRING HARNESS IS SHORTING OUT CAUSING THE HEADLAMP TO FAIL. BULBS ARE FINE AND IN WORKING CONDITION. THE CONNECTORS TO THE HEADLIGHT LAMPS ON MY 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK ARE BURNED. THE HEADLAMPS WILL TURN ON AND OFF AT ANY MOMENT. THIS IS CREATING A SAFELY HAZARD IN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL OF THIS DEFECT INSTEAD OF FORCING CUSTOMERS TO REPLACE THE FAULTY HOUSING WITH CABLING FOR 800 EACH. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK IN JULY OF 2007. SINCE THEN MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT HARNESS HAS MELTED TWICE AND NOW MY DRIVER SIDE HARNESS IS MELTED. THE FIRST TIME I HAD IT FIXED SATURN ARRANGE FOR IT TO BE FREE OF CHARGE HOWEVER THEY ARE REFUSING TO HELP AGAIN AND NOW I HAVE NO HEADLIGHTS. THESE WIRE HARNESSES SHOULD NOT MELT AND I BELIEVE ARE CAUSED BY A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM AND AM FEARFUL FOR MY SAFETY DRIVING IN A CAR WITH WIRING ISSUES. MY PASSENGER SIDE WENT OUT IN DECEMBER OF 2008 THEN AGAIN IN NOVEMBER OF 2009 AND NOW THE DRIVER SIDE WENT OUT JANUARY 13, 2010. *TR
