2003 SATURN VUE: WHILE DRIVING, THE "REDUCED POWER" LIGHT COMES ON AT THE SAME TIME THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN REDUCED IN SPEED TO 15 TO 20 MPH. THIS SUDDEN REDUCTION, WITHOUT WARNING IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THE SUDDEN REDUCTION HAS THE SAME EFFECT AS PUTTING ON THE BRAKES WITHOUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS.
I PURCHASED MY NEW 2003 SATURN VUE FROM YORK PA SATURN (SUTLIFF GROUP) AND THEY HAVE PATCHED UP MY 2003 VUE BY REPLACING VALVES, SENSORS ETC. ON THE VTI TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLES 5 OR 6 DIFFERENT TIMES, WHICH THEY WELL KNOW WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I STILL EXPERIENCE TRANSMISSION FAILURE DURING EXTENDED PERIODS OF DRIVING OR TIMES OF TRAFFIC STOP SITUATIONS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FROM THE 10,000 MILE POINT ON UNTIL THIS TIME. DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY INTO HIGHER GEAR , STILL MAKES GRINDING NOISES WHILE TURNING AND ACCELERATING AND OTHERWISE FAILS TO OPERATE PROPERLY. TRANSMISSION WAS LOOKED AT BY DEALER 5 TIMES AVOIDING THE ISSUE OF TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS HAVE INVOKED ME TO START A MAJOR CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE SATURN CORP. ! ALL I ASK IS FOR SATURN TO REPLACE MY FAULTY DRIVE TRAIN (ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION) FREE OF ALL LABOR AND PARTS WITH THE NEW TYPE DRIVE TRAIN THAT IS IN THE NEW 2008-09 VUE OR REPLACE WITH A NEW VEHICLE!!! ITS THAT SIMPLE SATURN! AND UNTIL THIS HAPPENS THIS TRANSMITTAL WILL CONTINUE ON TO WEBSITES, PUBLIC POSTS, FLYERS, IN FRONT OF SATURN DEALERS ETC. ETC... PS. I HAVE POSTED THIS WARNING ON EVERY NEW CAR BUYERS SITE JUST TO WARN PROSPECTIVE BUYERS OF THE FAILED RESPONSIBILITY OF SATURN AND GM. ALSO I HAVE COPIED JUST ABOUT EVERY PERSON AND BUSINESS THAT HAS EXPOSURE TO INTERSECTIONS SHOPPING MALLS ETC. SO TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS, WORKING COLLEAGUES, ETC. GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT SATURN. *TR
MY 2003 FWD SATURN VUE HAS HAD CONSTANT FRONT-END, STEERING, AND BRAKING ISSUES THAT COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. THE VUE HAS 34,000 MILES ON IT. SINCE 10,000 MILES, IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP NEARLY EVERY MONTH FOR LOOSE FRONT END SUSPENSION PARTS, LOOSE STEERING PARTS, LOOSE BRAKE PARTS, ETC. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS. ONCE THEY ARE DUPLICATED FOR THEM, THEY CLAIM TO REPLACE PARTS AND THAT THE ISSUES ARE RESOLVED, ALTHOUGH THERE IS LITTLE OR NO CHANGE IN SYMPTOMS. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT FEEL SAFE WHEN DRIVING IT, AND THE CURRENT PROBLEMS MAY RESULT IN A CRASH.*AK
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WOULD INTERMITTENTLY LOCK THE DOORS WHICH PREVENT THE CONSUMER FROM GETTING IN OR OUT OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. DEALER REPLACED THE POWER DOOR ASSEMBLY, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. THEN, DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVED THIS ISSUE. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AT ANY SPEED, THE CONTACT MAKES A LOUD WHINING NOISE AND HESITATES WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A DEALER APPROXIMATELY THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4.
THE VEHICLE STALLS IN TRAFFIC, RENDERING IT A SAFETY HAZZARD.*AK
I WENT TO DRIVE TO WORK AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE REDUCED POWER LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD THE ACCELERATOR FLOORED, RPM SHOT UP TO 6000 AND I WAS DOING ONLY 35 MILES AN HOUR DOWN THE ROAD. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE VALVE BODY. *LA
HI ,I HAVE A 03 SATURN VUE ....THAT IS A BIG LEMON ...THE STERING WHEEL MOTOR STOPPED WORKING A LOT OF TIMES. ALSO, WAS NOISY. *AK
WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. *JB
WE HAVE HAD THE TORSION BAR SUPPORT REPLACED 3 TIMES IN OUR 2003 SATURN VUE. *JB
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ON AN INCLINE, IT ROLLED BACK. THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. *JB
DT: THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THE FRONT AND BACK WHEEL BEARINGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, THE SATURN DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THEM , INSISTING THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT PROPERLY ROTATED. WENT BACK TO SATURN AGAIN AND SAID THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HAVE REPLACED ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES. SATURN REPLACED THE FRONT TWO TIRES THEMSELVES. CURRENTLY, THE BEARINGS E FAILED AGAIN ON THE FRONT AND BACK. THE FIRST TIME THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO SATURN FOR BEARING REPLACEMENT WAS ON AUGUST 6, 2003. *AK
HORN IS HARD TO ACTIVATE ON THE STEERING WHEEL. IT NEEDS TO BE SOFTER OR EASIER TO SOUND HORN. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILED, DEALER HAD REPAIRED VEHICLE SIX TIMES.*AK
ON JULY 28, 2004, DRIVING EAST ON HWY 221 TOWARD MARATHON, NY WHEN I PASSED OVER A FLOODED SECTION OF ROAD IN A 2003 SATURN VUE. THE VEHICLE SPUN AND ROLLED OVER TWICE. I HAVE SINCE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM SATURN SECONDARY TO POSSIBLE SUSPENSION FAILURE AND ROLLOVER RISK. THE CAR IS BEING HELD BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY, USAA AUTO, AT CO-PART, 46 ZUK PIERCE ROAD, CENTRAL SQUARE, NY 13036. THE STOCK NUMBER IS 681194. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER SUSPENSION FAILURE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS ROLLOVER ACCIDENT.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THE FRONT DOOR LATCHES RELEASED FROM THE INSIDE OF VEHICLE. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK THE INSIDE RELEASE HANDLES FAILED. THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE DOOR WAS TO REACH OUTSIDE THE WINDOW AND PULL THE DOOR HANDLE. *PH THE DOOR WAS REPAIRED THREE TIMES. *JB
THE VARIABLE DRIVE UNIT TRANSMISSION IN MY 2003 VUE HAD TO BE REPLACED WHEN THE CAR HAD 10,229 MILES ON IT. WORK TOOK PLACE AT DELRAY BEACH, FL DEALERSHIP ON 7/17/03. DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY. *AK
CLUTCH CHATTERS WHEN IN REVERSE. IT DID THIS FROM DAY ONE. WE HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED DUE TO NO DEALER CLOSE TO MONTEREY CA. *TR
I HAVE TAKEN MY 2003 SATURN VUE IN 8 TIMES FOR HIGH IDLE (1000 RPM) IN NEUTRAL, SES LIGHT ON, AND ENGINE COOLING FAN GOING ON. THE DEALER STOPPED ATTEMPTING TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON VISIT 6 (WHEN THEY LET MY CAR SIT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 13 DAYS WITH 1 DIAGNOSIS ATTEMPT). ANOTHER DEALER HAS LOOKED AT THE CAR FOR THE LAST TWO VISITS. SATURN SAYS THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. YET I HAVE FOUND A SATURN SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. THE HIGH IDLE IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT AFFECTS MY SHIFTING. AN INDEPENDENT ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC HAS STATED THAT THE HIGH IDLE AND ENGINE FAN RUNNING WILL EVENTUALLY DAMAGE THE FAN, ENGINE MOUNTS AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER. OF COURSE, MY GAS MILEAGE IS COMPROMISED AS WELL AS MY SAFETY. THE SERVICE BULLETIN PERTAINS TO THE SES LIGHT, CODE P0171 FUEL TRIM SYSTEM LEAN. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT 35MPH AT THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAYS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED, FORCING THE CONSUMER TO PULL OUT OF THE ROAD. DEALER WILL FIX THE TRANSMISSION. *AK
CONSUMER DROVE 2003 SATURN VUE WITH THE VARIABLE SPEED TRANSMISSION ON A DIRT ROAD WHICH LED TO THE TOP OF CHELAN BUTTE, IN CHELAN COUNTY ON JULY 6, 2003. THIS WAS A FREQUENTLY USED ROAD BECAUSE THE TOP OF THE BUTTE WAS USED TO LAUNCH HANG GLIDERS. CONSUMER HAD DRIVEN ON THE SAME ROAD WITH 1986 AUDI, THE PREVIOUS DAY JULY 5, 2003, AND IT COMPLETED THE CLIMB WITH NO PROBLEMS. THE SATURN VUE ALMOST STALLED IN NEGOTIATING ANY GRADE ABOVE 5%. TRANSMISSION WOULD REDUCE THE RPMS TO 1500 AND BELOW WHILE BEING DRIVEN WITH FOOT TO THE FLOOR, ASKING FOR MORE POWER. THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. THEN, SUDDENLY A VERY LOW RATIO WOULD ALLOW THE ENGINE TO REV TO OVER 2000 RPMS, ONLY TO REPEAT THIS CYCLE AT THE NEXT TURN OR GRADE. THE FACTORY AND DEALER HAVE MAINTAINED THAT TRANSMISSION WAS OPERATING "AS DESIGNED." CONSUMER CONTENDED THAT HAVING TRANSMISSION CONTROL THE SPEED OF THE CAR WAS ACTUALLY A CAR OUT OF CONTROL. COULD HAVE EASILY STALLED WITH NO WAY TO CONTINUE UP THE GRADE. VEHICLE WAS CARRYING 4 PASSENGERS ON THE INCIDENT DATE. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER, WHO DID NOTHING TO THE TRANSMISSION, CONSUMER TOOK IT UP THE BUTTE ALONE AS AN UNLOADED VEHICLE. IT REPEATED THE ABOVE THREE TIMES IN THE COURSE OF 5 MILES. *AK
I HAVE BEEN PUT-OFF MANY TIMES BY SUTLIFF/YORK SATURN FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS YOU DESCRIBE IN YOUR COMPLAINT. HAD A VERY CLOSE CALL WITH A TRACTOR&TRAILER IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. MANY VISITS TO THE DEALER HAVE YIELDED NOTHING BUT A WASTE OF GAS. PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS I AM MAKING UP SIGNS TO DISPLAY AT ALL PUBLIC EVENTS IN THE GETTYSBURG, HANOVER, YORK, SHIPPENSBURG, MECHANICSBURG, BIGLERVILLE AREAS TELLING OF MY PROBLEMS WITH THE SATURN VUE!! ALSO DISPLAYING ONE IN MY VUE WINDOW FOR ALL WORK TRAFFIC 5 DAYS A WEEK TO SEE!*TR
FUEL ECONOMY IS DRASTICALLY BELOW WHAT WAS SAID IN THE SALES ROOM AND INDICATED ON THE STICKER. A SEARCH OF SATURN VUE USER SITES ONLINE INDICATE THAT THE PROBLEM IS CONSIDERABLE. SOME VUE OWNERS (OF THE VTI 4CYL) GET UP TO 30 MILES PER GALLON, WHILE OTHERS LIKE ME GET 15-17. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER IT'S CITY DRIVING, HIGHWAY DRIVING, OR A COMBINATION. SUCH A DISPARITY IS UNBELIEVABLE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS DUE TO THE BREAK-IN PERIOD. OTHER OWNERS SAY THEY'VE HAD GREAT MILEAGE SINCE THE BOUGHT THE CAR.*AK
WHEN ENGINE STARTED AND ENGAGED FROM PARK TO DRIVE TRANSMISSION JERKED AND CONTINUED DOING SO BETWEEN 45 AND 65MPH. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. SATURN, ION, 2003. *AK
EXCESS ACCUMULATION OR DIRT, DEBRIS AND ROAD SALT IN REAR DOOR JAMS. REAR DOORS OFTEN FREEZE SHUT IF WINTER WEATHER AND MAKE ENTERING REAR SEAT DIFFICULT WITHOUT GETTING DIRTY. ALSO MAY LEAD TO PREMATURE CORROSION. *LA
THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN THE LIGHTING SYSTEM ON THIS CAR. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TURNED ON (NOT THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS) THE TURN SIGNAL/HEADLIGHT CONTROL STALK WILL GET HOT TO THE TOUCH IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES. I CONTACTED SATURN VIA EMAIL AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO MY DEALER. THAT'S ALL WELL AND GOOD BUT SATURN OF ROCHESTER (NEW YORK) IS A JOKE. *NLM
ODI 10039640 (RELATED?) WHILE STOPPED ON A HILL, THE VEHICLE SLIDES BACK VERY,VERY QUICKLY WHILE ACCESSING THE GAS PEDAL. NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS AVERTED BY USING LEFT LEG FOR THE BRAKE. TRANSMISSION REPLACED ONCE, STARTING TO DO THE SAME AGAIN.
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. SHE STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WILL REV AT ABOUT 35 MPH. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. THE CAR WILL JERK AND HESITATE. SHE HAS NOTICED THIS ON ROADS WITH A SLIGHT INCLINE. SHE CAN TRAVEL THE SAME ROAD TWICE AND THE PROBLEM MAY OR MAY NOT OCCUR.*AK *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH VEHICLE HAS TO STOP SUDDENLY AND WHILE APPLYING BRAKES HARD VEHICLE LOSS TOTAL CONTROL OF BRAKES. LATER CONSUMER DISCOVERED A HOLE IN THE BRAKE HOSE. DEALER NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THERE WAS A NOISE PRESENT IN THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT DIDN'T NOTICE ANY WARNING LIGHTS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND INSPECTED WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED ON FOUR OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT IS AWARE OF THE RISK SINCE THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE COULD CAUSE A CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,085.
FREON LEAK IN A/C. VUE WAS TAKEN IN TO DEALERSHIP IN MAY 2003, MAY 2004, AND COMPLAINT FILED MAY 2005 WITH THE CAR HAVING BEEN IN 13 TIMES THIS SUMMER 2005. DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. ALL THEY DO IS REFILL FREON WHEN IT LEAKS OUT. THEY DID FINALLY REPLACE COMPRESSOR AFTER I WROTE TO SATURN CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CTR IN TN. HAD CAR IN AUG 27, SEPT 10 AND SEPT 17-NOTHING WAS DONE OTHER THAN WASH MY CAR AND SPRAY DEODORIZER IN VENTS TO COVER THE SMELL OF LEAKING FREON. SATURN ASSISTANCE CENTER CONFIRMED VIA EMAIL FREON DISCHARGE AND RE-CHARGE WITH DYE WOULD BE DONE AT MY LAST APPT, 9/17/95--THIS WAS NOT DONE. THE A/C HAS NEVER BEEN REPAIRED--AND SATURN HAS TRIED TO HIDE THE PROBLEM. *JB
MY COMPLAINTS ARE SEVERAL . ALL OF WHICH HAVE BEEN DESCRIBED IN TECHNICAKL BULLETINS. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER NO LESS THAN 10 TIMES SINCE I OURCHASED IT. NOW, I LIVE WITH THE ISSUES BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE ADDITIONAL WORK , THE WORST PROBLEM IS THE VIBRATION IN THE DRIVETRAIN AT IDLE (WHEN IN DRIVE AND THE VIBRATION DRIVING AT 60-65. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVERS DOOR SQUEEKS ( I BELIVE ITS THE INSULATION) MY LUGGAGE BOLTS BROKE, THE SEAT CUSHION ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WOULD NOT STAY ATTACHED ON THE FRONT EDGE, THERE IS A POPPING NOISE WHEN THE TRUCK IS IDLING, WHEN YOU CLOSE THE REAR LIFTGATE, THE PLASTIC INTERIOR SEPERATES FROM THE DOOR, WHE IT IS COLD MY STEERING COLUMN MAKE NOISE.
1. RECALL TRANSAXLE 2. SAME DAY ---CHECK INGINE LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OUT. THEY FIXED IT AND SAME DAY IT CAME ON AGAIN, THEY FIXED IT AGAIN 3. SAME DAY CAR IS LURCHING SHEN COMING TO A STOP. THEY FIXED IT. 4. NEXT WEEK THE CAR IS NOT GETTING ANY GAS WHEN PRESS THE EXCELERATOR. 5. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED IN BECASUE IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL.THEY FIXED IT. 6. SAME DAY AFTER PICK UP HEAR KNOCKING SOUND WHEN TURN A CORNER AND THEN RATTLE WHEN INCREASE IN SPEED. THEY SAID THEY DONOT HEAR ANYTHING.
NEW VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES NEEDED REPLACEMENT OF REAR DRIVE CLUTCH UNIT DUE TO GRINDING NOISE DURING TURNS. REPLACEMENT DONE UNDER WARRANTY. NOISE STILL THERE BUT NOT AS PRONOUNCED. WILL WAIT TO SEE IF IT BECOMES A PROBLEM. *TT

THE SUSPENSION WAS UNSTABLE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SWAY AND TRANSMISSION CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO PULL TO ONE SIDE. THE SALES DEALER HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AND DETERMINED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THE 30-DAY LIMIT ON A LEMON HAD EXPIRED.
I PURCHASED A 2003 VUE ON 12/02 THERE WAS A RECALL IN 03/03 THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED, BUT LEAD TO OTHER PROBLEMS. (1) THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OUT TOOK IT IN 2 TIMES. (2) THE CAR WAS LURCHING WHEN COMING TO A STOP. (3) THE CAR DID NOT GET ENOUGH GAS WHEN TAKING OFF. (4) THERE IS A KNOCKING SOUND WHEN I TURN A CORNER. (5) THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED IN JUST 1 DAY AFTER PICKING IT UP FOR OTHER PROBLEMS BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. *JB

I PURCHASED MY NEW 2003 SATURN VUE FROM YORK PA SATURN (SUTLIFF GROUP) AND THEY HAVE PATCHED UP MY 2003 VUE BY REPLACING VALVES, SENSORS ETC. ON THE VTI TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLES 5 OR 6 DIFFERENT TIMES, WHICH THEY WELL KNOW WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I STILL EXPERIENCE TRANSMISSION FAILURE DURING EXTENDED PERIODS OF DRIVING OR TIMES OF TRAFFIC STOP SITUATIONS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FROM THE 10,000 MILE POINT ON UNTIL THIS TIME. DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY INTO HIGHER GEAR , STILL MAKES GRINDING NOISES WHILE TURNING AND ACCELERATING AND OTHERWISE FAILS TO OPERATE PROPERLY. TRANSMISSION WAS LOOKED AT BY DEALER 5 TIMES AVOIDING THE ISSUE OF TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS HAVE INVOKED ME TO START A MAJOR CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE SATURN CORP. SATURN IS NOW BEING DECIDED IN THE COURT SYSTEM (CAS) THE FINAL DECISION SHOULD BE IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS SO KEEP CHECKING BACK ON THIS AND OTHER SITES THAT ATTRACT LEMON VEHICLES! ALL I ASK IS FOR GM/SATURN TO REPLACE MY FAULTY DRIVE TRAIN (ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION) FREE OF ALL LABOR AND PARTS WITH THE NEW TYPE DRIVE TRAIN THAT IS IN THE NEW 2007-08 VUE OR REPLACE WITH A NEW VEHICLE!!! TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES AND LOOSES POWER. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS OCCURS WHEN VEHICLE GOES OVER A BUMP OR AN IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD WHILE ACCELERATING. ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE FAILURE A REMEDY HAS NOT BEEN FOUND. *AK

AFTER HAVING MY (BRAND NEW) 2003 SATURN VUE FOR 4 MONTHS, IT STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION ON MY WAY TO WORK. THE CAR WAS TOWED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY SATURN. AFTER THAT, I HAVE HAD OTHER INSTANCES OF POOR PERFORMANCE BY THE VEHICLE, WHICH, AGAIN WAS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. EACH TIME, SATURN EITHER REPLACED OR REPAIRED THE PART(S) THAT WERE CAUSING THE PROBLEMS. I JUST RECENTLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE WAY THE CAR WAS DRIVING AND I TOOK IT IN TO FIND OUT THAT I HAD YET ANOTHER TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AS WELL AS A MALFUNCTIONING REAR SUSPENSION, WHICH I FOUND OUT HAD BEEN RECALLED. ALL PARTS WERE EITHER REPAIRED OR REPLACED. *JB
PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION EQUIPMENT ON 2003 SATURN VUE.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***.*MR THREE WEEKS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THE CONSUMER WAS NOTIFIED OF A TRANSMISSION RELATED RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. FOUR MONTHS LATER THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING IN TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (VTI TRANSMISSION). THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE VTI TRANSMISSION BUT INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE WITH A DIFFERENT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. THE STARTER AND REAR WIPER MOTOR WAS REPLACED. BOTH FUEL SENDERS FAILED RESULTING IN INACCURATE FUEL READINGS. THE LIFTGATE BECAME STUCK WHEN OPENED. *NM
STEERING PULLS RIGHT NO OR SHORTLY AFTER ABRUPT START FROM STANDSTILL. JUMPED A CURB FROM PARALLEL PARK AT DEALER SERVICE CENTER IN ST CHARLES WITH TECHNICIAN IN PASSENGER SEAT OBSERVING.
WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE ENGINE RPM REV'S TO 4000 RPM, SPEEDOMETER INDICATES A SPEED OF 80-90 MPH, WHILE PHYSICALLY GOING 10-15MPH. ADDITIONALLY, THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON INDICATOR APPEARS AS WELL AS THE REDUCED POWER INDICATOR. ALSO HAPPENED WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. EXACT SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED ON TWO VUE'S, BOTH TIMES WITH LESS THAN 1300 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, BOTH WITH 4 CYL, VTI AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. ONE INCIDENT ON DEC 24 - DEC 27 2002 WAS THE FIRST.
AIRBAG FAILURE IN A 2003 SATURN VUE WITH SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE. LUCK PREVENTED SEVERE INJURY, WHILE A VITAL SAFETY FEATURE FAILED. WE ARE ENRAGED BY THE FACT THAT WE BOUGHT A VEHICLE THAT PROFESSED SAFETY, BUT DID NOT PERFORM WHEN NEEDED. WE LOVED THE VEHICLE TO THIS POINT.
CONSUMER STATES HE HAS A RATTLING NOISE IN THE FRONT OF HIS VEHICLE THAT THE MECHANIC IN THE SERVICE DEPT OF THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE. HE STATES THE SERVICE TECH HAS DRIVEN HIS AUTO AND THE NOISE WAS HEARD BY HIM, THEN GOT OUT AND THEY BOTH GOT OUT AND GOT INTO A NEW CAR, AND THE NOISE WAS NOT THERE, YET THE SERVICE TECH WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED AT 22000 AND AGAIN AT 33000 TIMING BELT AT 20000 NEEDED REPLACEMENT I REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER CONTROLLER IN AUG 2006. THIS CAR IS A PIECE OF CRAP AND I WILL NEVER BUY A SATURN AGAIN I BOUGHT THIS BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT IN JAN 2003 AND HAVE HAD MAJOR THINGS GO WRONG.
