CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH VTI TRANSMISSION. EXPERIENCE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT PROBLEMS, THE MOST NOTEWORTHY IS AN INTERMITTENT HESITATION, USUALLY WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. HAS NEARLY CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. SATURN DEALERSHIP DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT, SATURN CORPORATE LINE IS NO HELP. *JB
I PURCHASED MY NEW 2003 SATURN VUE FROM YORK PA SATURN (SUTLIFF GROUP) AND THEY HAVE PATCHED UP MY 2003 VUE BY REPLACING VALVES, SENSORS ETC. ON THE VTI TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLES 4 OR 5 DIFFERENT TIMES, WHICH THEY WELL KNOW WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I STILL EXPERIENCE TRANSMISSION FAILURE DURING EXTENDED PERIODS OF DRIVING OR TIMES OF TRAFFIC JAM SITUATIONS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FROM THE 10,000 MILE POINT ON UNTIL THIS TIME. DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY INTO HIGHER GEAR , STILL MAKES GRINDING NOISES WHILE TURNING AND ACCELERATING AND OTHERWISE FAILS TO OPERATE PROPERLY. TRANSMISSION WAS LOOKED AT BY DEALER 5 TIMES AVOIDING THE ISSUE OF TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS HAVE INVOKED ME TO START A MAJOR CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE SATURN CORP. SATURN NEEDS TO HAVE A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION - CONSUMERS CAN'T AFFORD ALL OF THESE REPAIRS FOR WHAT IS CLEARLY A FAULTY TRANSMISSION THAT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED! NEXT STEP IS CLASS ACTION SUIT BY OWNERS!!!! ALL I ASK IS FOR GM/SATURN TO REPLACE MY FAULTY DRIVE TRAIN (ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION) FREE OF ALL LABOR AND PARTS WITH THE NEW TYPE DRIVE TRAIN THAT IS IN THE NEW 2007-08 VUE !!! ITS THAT SIMPLE SATURN! AND UNTIL THIS HAPPENS THIS TRANSMITTAL WILL CONTINUE ON TO WEBSITES, PUBLIC POSTS, FLYERS, IN FRONT OF SATURN DEALERS ETC. ETC... PS. WHILE THE HOOD ROD WAS HOLDING THE HOOD UP, A STRONG WIND BLEW THE HOOD AWAY FROM THE ROD. THE HOOD CAME DOWN AND CAUSE THE HOOD TO HIT THE DRIVERS FINGER AND DAUGHTERS NECK. THE CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS.
THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION OF A 2003 SATURN VUE VTI STARTED TO MAKE SCREAMING NOISES, WHEN ACCELERATING UP A RAMP ONTO A HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE COULD ONLY ENTER THE HIGHWAY AT A REDUCED SPEED.*AK

THE CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN ACCELERATING. THIS HAPPENS FROM A STOP AS WELL AS WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I FEEL IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING IN NEW FALLEN SNOW THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GO UP A SMALL GRADE. THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT TO ENGAGE IN REVERSE. THE CONSUMER WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE WHEN IT BEGAN TO SLIDE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE TRANSMISSION MODULE. THE HOOD RELEASE WAS NOT WORKING BECAUSE THE HOOD RELEASE CABLE WAS STRETCHED AND BENT *AK *NM
AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR FAILED WITHOUT WARNING AT 42,000 MILES.
THE HORN ON MY 2003 SATURN VUE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN AN EMERGENCY. UNLESS YOU PRESS WITH YOU THUMB EXACTLY ON THE HORN SYMBOL, IT WILL NOT BLOW. THE DEALER AND I BOTH TRIED BY HITTING THE SPOT WITH OUR FIST. SOMETIME IT BLOWS AND SOMETIMES IT DID NOT. EVERYTIME IT BLEW WHEN YOU PRESS EXACTLY ON THE HORN SYMBOL WITH YOUR THUMB. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS NORMAL. IN AN EMERGENCY, FINDING THAT EXACT PLACE ON THE STERLING WHEEL IS DIFFICULT. I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 4 INCIDENTS WHERE AN ACCIDENT ALMOST OCCURRED BECAUSE I COULD NOT FIND THE HORN. *JB
GAS PEDAL AND BRAKE PEDAL SEEM TO BE TOO CLOSE. WHEN BACKING UP PEDALS ARE TOO CLOSE CAUSING CONFUSION. L

MY SATURN VUE HAS A VIBRATION/SHUDDER AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WHICH IS CAUSED BY A PROBLEM WITH THE VTI TRANSMISSION AND WHICH STARTED AT ABOUT 6,600 MILES. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE AND TRANSMISSION. CALLED MY DEALER AND HE OFFERED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION SINCE SO MANY VTI TRANSMISSIONS HAVE FAILED. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY HAVE REPLACED ABOUT 6 VTI TRANSMISSIONS ALREADY (AND THAT'S ONLY ONE DEALER) SO PROBABLY HUNDREDS OT VTI TRANSMISSIONS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED NATIONWIDE. MY VUE HAS HAD TWO RECALLS FOR THE VTI--INCLUDING REPLACEMENT OF BOLTS AND A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. THE CONSTANTLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (VTI) HAS BEEN A PROBLEM TRANSMISSION EVER SINCE IT WAS INTRODUCED IN THE NEW 2002 VUE AND HUNDREDS OF OWNERS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS. THE VTI TRANMISSION WAS DELAYED SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF PRE-PRODUCTION PROBLEMS. NOW THOUSANDS OF SATURN VUE OWNERS HAVE MANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, INCLUDING ON-THE-ROAD TRANSMISSION FAILURES WHICH IS DANGEROUS. THIS IS A PROVEN DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS AN IMPACT ON SAFETY AS WELL AS RESALE VALUE AND/OR SALEABILITY OF THE VEHICLE. SATURN NEEDS TO EITHER BUY BACK THOSE VUE'S WITH VTI' TRANSMISSIONS OR OFFER TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE WITH A NON-VTI TRANSMISSION MODEL. *AK
SEVERAL PROBLEMS - GAS GAUGE NOT WORKING, NUMEROUS RATTLES AND SQUEAKS, WEIRD ENGINE NOISES, THERMOSTAT OUT, MISC WARNING LIGHTS. *AK
DURING ACCELERATION AND WHILE THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THE CAR RAPIDLY DECELERATES FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE OR TWO SECONDS AND MAINTAINS A SLOW SPEED BEFORE AGAIN RESPONDING TO THE DRIVER'S INPUT. THERE IS NO STALLING. TIME OF DAY AND TEMPERATURE APPEAR TO HAVE NO AFFECT. ENGINE TEMPERATURE ALSO APPEARS TO HAVE NO AFFECT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 5 TIMES IN 10 DAYS. TWICE THE SITUATION CREATED A NEAR-TRAGIC RESULT. THIS IS A VUE WITH A VTI TRANSMISSION. *JB
VEHICLE LOST POWER WHEN ACCELERATING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. ALMOST HAD COLLISION FROM ONCOMING VEHICLE. VEHICLE HESITATED AGAIN WITH LOSS OF POWER WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE VEHICLE TO SPEED. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS ADVISED IT WAS THE VTI TRANSMISSION AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION AS PER SERVICE BULLETIN, HOWEVER, THE FOLLOWING DAY SAME HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING WITH LOSS OF POWER. NEXT STEP WAS TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION AS PER DEALERS COMMENT. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH VEHICLE STALLED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS BUILT WITH THE VIT WHICH CONTROL THE WHEEL TRACTION. CONSUMER INDICATED THERE IS NO INFORMATION IN THE MANUALS BOOK WHAT TO DO IN THIS SITUATION.
WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID NOZZLE DISLODGED FROM HOLDER, ELIMINATING ABILITY TO SPRAY FLUID FOR CLEANING WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING. THIS PREVENTS HAVING CLEAR VISION WHILE DRIVING UNLESS DRIVER STOPS FREQUENTLY TO GET OUT AND CLEAN WINDSHIELD. POTENTIAL HAZARD CONDITION.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WHILE SHIFTING FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR. ALSO, THERE WAS HESITATION, AND THE RPM'S WENT UP. DEALER REPLACED A SENSOR ON THE TRANSMISSION, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK *NM
DT: 2003 SATURN VUE. THE FRONT SWAY BAR LINKS AND TORSION BAR HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES AND THE PROBLEM RECURRED. THE SUSPENSION AND STEERING MADE GRINDING SOUNDS AND THE CAR HANDLED DIFFERENTLY. THEY WERE REPLACED ON MARCH 8, 2004, MARCH 3 2005, AND JULY 27, 2005. THE VEHICLE HAS 29,000 MILES ON IT. SATURN TOLD THE CONSUMER TO SEE THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE PROBLEM. *AK THE ABS ACTIVATED UNDER NORMAL BRAKING CONDITIONS. THE WIPER SWITCH WAS REPLACED DUE TO A SHORT. THE STEERING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE LUBRICATED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE DURING A LIGHT SNOWSTORM, I PASSED UNDER A BRIDGE WHERE THERE WAS SOME ACCUMULATION OF WATER. I WAS TRAVELING (COASTING) AT APPROXIMATELY 50 TO 55 MILES PER HOUR (SPEED LIMIT 65) AND WHEN I BEGAN CROSSING THE WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE THE CAR'S ENGINE ACCELERATED FROM ABOUT 2500 RPM TO 5500 RPM. THE CAR BEGAN TO SLIDE, AND ONLY RECOVERED AFTER THE ENGINE STOPPED ITS ACCELERATION OF RPM. ONCE I WAS OUT FROM UNDER THE BRIDGE AND THE ROAD WAS NOT AS WET THE RPM RETURNED TO NORMAL AND THE CAR STRAIGTHENED OUT. AT THE POINT OF ACCELERATION, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL ENTIRELY, AND ALTHOUGH THE "TRACTION CONTROL" BUTTON IS TURNED ON AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU START THE CAR, THE WARNING LIGHT THAT NORMALLY COMES ON DURING TRACTION CONTROL DID NOT LIGHT, INDICATING THAT IT WAS NOT THE TRACTION CONTROL THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. SINCE THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH CRUISE CONTROL AND THE CONTROLS ARE ON THE STEERING WHEEL I DO NOT DRIVE WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON (I RARELY IF EVER USE THE CRUISE CONTROL AS I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS SAFE). I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED, THE TECHNICIAN CHECKED THE CAR AND SAID THAT NOTHING HAD BEEN RECORDED ON THE COMPUTER AND NOTHING WAS MALFUNCTIONING. HE BELIEVED I USED THE CRUISE CONTROL INADVERTENTLY, WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE. I BELIEVE THE VEHICLE HAS AN UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION PROBLEM. *AK
THE WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE DISC POPS OUT OF ITS NOZZLE ASSEBLY MAKING THE WINDSHIELD FLUID SPRAY PUR OUT RATHER THAN PROPERLY SPRAY THE WINDSHIELD INORDER TO PROPERLY CLEAR THE VIEWING AREA. EPECIALLY NEEDED DURING WINTER SEASON OF SALT/SLUSH SPRAY FROM FORWARD VEHICLE ON ROAD/HWY OPERATION. (BASICALLY THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOUR VEHICLES TIRES SPRAYS SALT/SLUSH SPRAY UP ON YOUR WINDSHIEL, AND WITHOUT THE WINDSHIELD SPRAYER WORKING CORRECTLY YOU CAN'T SEE THE ROAD.*AK
VTI TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 27650 MILES.*AK
MY WIFE WAS TRAVELLING NORTH ON INTERSTATE RT 83 TOWARDS YORK, PA IN OUR 2003 SATURN VUE. THE WEATHER WAS LIGHT RAIN WITH THE TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 30'S. THE TIME OF DAY WAS AROUND NOON. WITHOUT WARNING, SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT ROLLED OVER, RESTING ON THE PASSENGER-SIDE FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I VIEWED THE VEHICLE AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE DRIVER-SIDE REAR WHEEL WAS CROOKED, AS IF THE REAR AXLE WERE BENT. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER-SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY UNUSUAL TO HAVE A BENT REAR WHEEL WITH NO DAMAGE ON THAT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. NOW I'M WONDERING IF THE WHEEL COLLAPSE DEFECT IS WHAT CAUSED OUR SATURN VUE TO ROLL OVER. *AK
THIS IS THE SECOND COMPLAINT I HAVE HAD TO FILE. THIS CAR KEEPS BREAKING DOWN ON ME AND IT IS NOT EVEN ONE YEAR OLD! ON 1/12/04 I NEEDED TO DRIVE TO ROCKY MOUNT, NC THEN ON TO ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC SCHOOL. AFTER ARRIVING IN ROCKY MOUNT, MY CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR, BUT STARTED FINE. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR THE CARE STALLED AND TURNED OFF. I THEN ATTEMPTED TO START MY CAR AGAIN AND PLACE IT INTO GEAR ONE MORE TIME. IT STARTED AND WENT INTO GEAR AND SEEMED TO DRIVE FINE. I CALLED SATURN OF GREENVILLE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE BATTERY IS LIKELY TO BE THE PROBLEM AND TO NOT TURN MY CAR OFF FOR ONE HOUR, I THEN STATED THAT I WOULD CONTINUE TO DRIVE TO ROANOKE RAPIDS. AFTER ARRIVING AT MY FINAL DESTINATION, MY CAR AGAIN STALLED AND TURNED OFF WHEN I PLACED IT INTO GEAR. I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED AND GET A RENTAL CAR WHICH WERE BOTH HUGE INCONVENIENCES TO ME. FINALLY, ON 1/16/04, I CALLED SATURN TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR AND THEY SAID THAT AIR WAS TRAPPED IN THE TRANSMISSION LINE AND THAT DURING THE REPAIR PROCESS, DAMAGE WAS DONE TO A DRAIN BOLT ("STRIPPED"). I WAS THEN TOLD I COULD PICK MY CAR UP ON 1/17/04. AFTER GETTING MY CAR BACK, IT IS STILL MAKING A GRINDING NOISE IN THE STEERING COLUMN WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, IT MAKES WEIRD NOISES CONSTANTLY, AND THE RPMS ARE MESSED UP. THEY REV UP WHEN I TAP THE PEDAL, BUT WHEN I NEED TO ACCELERATE, THEY DO NOTHING. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THE SATURN VUE AND THEIR TRANSMISSIONS NEED TO BE RECALLED! *LA

CONSUMER WAS WEARING SEAT BELTS, BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED A SLIGHT STERNUM FRACTURE AND OTHER MINOR BRUISES TO THE ARMS AND NECK. THE POLICE ARRIVED BUT NO ONE WAS CITED AT THE TIME. *AK
WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A STOP STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE RIGHT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER DETERMINED THERE WAS TOO MUCH TIRE PRESSURE. AFTER RELEASING SOME TIRE PRESSURE THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK *MR
MY 2003 SATURN VUE LOSES POWER SUDDENLY WITH NO WARNING. A "REDUCED POWER" WARNING LIGHT GOES ON AND "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" WARNING GOES ON AT THE SAME TIME. SUDDENLY YOU HAVE NO POWER. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON THE FREEWAY AND IT IS REALLY FRIGHTENING AND DANGEROUS. I'M AFRAID IT'S GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM AND IT'S STILL DOING THE SAME THING. ALSO, THE "TRACHION CONTROL" WILL GO ON WHEN IT SHOULDN'T AND YOU LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR. *AK
COMING HOME AFTER A 300 MILE HIGHWAY DRIVE THE ABS ACTIVATED ON DRY PAVEMENT AT THE END OF THE OFF-RAMP. THIS HAPPENED JUST AS THE CAR WAS COMING TO A STOP. THE BRAKES CAME ON VERY HARD AND UNEXPECTEDLY. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED WHILE DRIVING HOME THROUGH RESIDENTIAL AREAS. I SHUT CAR OFF AT HOME THEN TOOK IT OUT AGAIN AND THE ABS ACTIVATED HARD AND UNEXPECTEDLY AT EVERY STOP. I LET THE CAR SIT THE NEXT DAY, SUNDAY, AND TOOK IT IN TO DEALER MONDAY. ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER, THE BRAKES OPERATED NORMALLY. THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I'VE HAD CARS WITH ABS FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING AGAIN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL.
I DETECTED A ROAR/RUBBING SOUND IN THE ENGINE OR DRIVE TRAIN WHEN THE CAR WAS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. I CALLED SATURN OF GREENVILLE (NC) AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CARE IN TO BE CHECKED. I DID THIS AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CARE SOUNDED NORMAL, TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR, AND TO BRING IT BACK IF IT GOT WORSE. THE ROARING/RUBBING NOISE CONTINUED TO BECOME WORSE. I AGAIN TOOK THE CARE IN FOR EVALUATION BY THE SERVICE MANAGER OF SATURN OF GREENVILLE ON 12/26/03. THIS TIME, AT MY SUGGESTION, THE TECHNICIAN ACCOMPANIED ME ON A TEST DRIVE AND WAS ABLE TO HEAR THE NOISE. THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO HEARD THE NOISE. I INFORMED THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT I PLANNED TO TAKE A TRIP TO FLORIDA THE NEXT DAY AND DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING MY CAR. HE TOLD ME THAT HE DID NOT BELIEVE THAT THE NOISE WAS SERIOUS NOR WAS THE CAR DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, AND THAT NO FURTHER DAMAGE WOULD BE DONE TO MY CAR IF I DROVE IT TO FLORIDA. I ASKED THAT HE PUT THIS IN WRITING AND IF I COULD SPEAK TO THE OWNER. THE OWNER AGREED TO PROVIDE ME WITH ANOTHER CAR AND TO FIX MINE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH A BELT IN THE TRANSMISSION RUBBING AGAINST THE TRANS-CASE, WHICH WAS WHAT WAS CAUSING THE NOISE. I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK ON 1/10/04. *LA
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2003 SATURN VUE AND DISCOVERED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTS OFF FROM A FULL STOP IT PULLS SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT. OVER THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED - MOST RECENTLY OVER THE PAST 10 DAYS (ALLOWING FOR ALL THE EMAIL TRAFFIC). THE "HEAD" MECHANIC AT THE SATURN DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM DID NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT ALL. INSTEAD, HIS COMMENT REGARDING IT WAS, "THAT IS THE NATURE OF THE BEAST". TODAY, A (SUPERVISOR) OF CUSTOMER RELATIONS TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS "NOT A DESIGN FLAW" EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS INFORMED THAT MY PROBLEM IS IN EACH AND EVERY VUE BEING SOLD. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS VEHICLE PASSED INSPECTION STANDARDS WITH THIS DEFINITIVE PROBLEM. TRUE, IT MAY NOT (TO SOME) APPEAR TO BE A "MAJOR" SAFETY RISK BUT TO OTHERS, IT IS. AS I EXPLAINED TO SATURN TODAY, THIS FAULT WAS PURPOSELY KEPT FROM ME FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SELLING THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATES AS LONG AS THERE ARE PUDDLES OF WATER ON THE ROAD THE VEHICLE WILL HYDROPLANE. THE SERVICE DEALER STATES THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR BACK A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES TO SATURN OF MORRISTOWN WITH A COMPLAINT OF A SHIMMY/SHUDDER IN THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. INITIALLY THE COMPLAINT WAS FROM 50-75 BUT AFTER THEIR 4TH FIX, THE SHUDDER BEGAN AT 45A ND WAS REALLY BAD AT 65. SATURN IS IN ITS FINAL ATTEMPT TO FIX THE CAR, DENIES THE CAR IS A LEMON, HAS TOLD ME SATURN KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR BUT HAS TRIED EVERY FIX AND THEN SOME AND MY CAR WON'T RESPOND TO ANY FIXES AND THAT THEY CAN'T FIX THE CAR YET THEY REFUSE TO BUY IT BACK CLAIMING THEY ARE WITHIN THEIR ALLOTED TIME AS A FINAL FIX. FEBRUARY 15 IS THE 12TH CONSECUTIVE DAY WITHOUT MY CAR AND THE 24TH CUMULATIVE DAY. 2003 SATURN VUE FAILED TO START. *KB THE VEHICLE MADE SQUEAKING NOISES WHEN THE CONSUMER MADE A RIGHT TURN, IN ADDITION TO VARIOUS OTHER RUMBLINGS. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE ROTORS, BEARINGS AND TRANSMISSION. A SPECIAL WHEEL BEARING HAD TO BE ORDERED AS WELL AS A SPECIAL SIDE COVER AND HARDWARE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THE COOLANT SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE. THE REAR WIPERS WOULD STICK. THE GAS GAUGE WOULD ONLY READ 3/4 FULL. THE AIR CONDITION STOPPED WORKING AND THE HOT AND COLD KNOB DID NOT GO ALL THE TO COOL. THE STARTER WAS REPLACED WHICH WAS THE REASON THE VEHICLE WASN'T STARTING. THE TRANSFER CASE SEAL WAS REPLACED. *JB

THE HORN SOUNDED LOWER WHEN THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, SOMETIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OFF, IT DID NOT WORK AT ALL. THE HORN HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES. THE DEALERS SOLUTION WAS TO TRY REMOVING A HORN FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE LOT, HOWEVER MOST OF THE HORNS WERE DEFECTIVE. *JB

TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMED DUE TO WHINING NOISE. HOOD WON'T OPEN. HOOD CABLE READJUSTED. DRIVER AND PASSENGER WASHER NOZZLE MISSING AND REPLACED. STEERING WHEEL MAKING NOISE. SHAFT BOOT GREASED. SERVICE ENGINE SOON (SES) LIGHT ON. OXYGEN SENSOR WAS CONTAMINATED AND REPLACED. *TT
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A HARD HESITATION, LACK OF POWER IN THE ENGINE AND LOST OF ACCELERATION WHEN THE PAVEMENT WAS WET OR UNEVEN. *JB THERE WAS ALSO A POSSIBLE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. *SC *JB
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND STALLS FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE POWER IS RESTORED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. THIS FAILURE HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL REAR END COLLISIONS. THE DEALERSHIP TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM BUT PERFORMED THE REPAIRS IN THE TSB 03-07-300-051 TWICE. THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. NOW, THE DEALERSHIP IS INDICATING THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED.*AK
THE HEADLIGHT AND DAYTIME RUN LIGHTS BURN OUT WHEN IT RAINS... INSTEAD OF FINDING OUT THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS, THE DEALER JUST REPLACES THE BULBS AND SENDS ME ON MY WAY. THE FACTORY WAS NOTIFIED BY THE DEALER AND THE FACTORY ADVISED THAT NO FIX OR REPLACEMENT LINK IS AVAILABLE. THE FACTORY ALSO ADVISED THAT IT IS A KNOW PROBLEM OF A DEFECTIVE PART AND OTHER VUES ARE EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM. WHEN THE BINDING OF THE STABILIZER LINK OCCURS IT CAUSES A GRINDING AND CLUNKING NOICE WHILE TURNING.

TECHNICIAN SAID IT WAS SAME PROBLEM, BUT WROTE DOWN IT WAS A NOISE IN THE DASHBOARD. 9/03, RATTLE BACK. 9/28, STEERING SEEMED LOOSE, WENT OFF THE ROAD TWICE GOING AROUND CURVES. 9/29 DRIVING TO WORK, HEARD A LOUD RATTLE, THEN "THUNK", THEN THE STEERING PULLED & I HIT A PARKED CAR. TOLD SATURN DEALER ABOUT ACCIDENT, ASKED TO CHECK STEERING. DEALER SAID THERE WAS PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING AND "A PART" WAS BEING ORDERED. LATER CALLED, SAID WE HADN'T TOLD HIM CAR HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT (WE HAD) AND THEY WOULDN'T TOUCH IT UNTIL ENGINEER LOOKED AT IT. DEALER REFUSED TO HONOR EXTENDED WARRANTY WE PURCHASED, PROVIDING RENTAL WHILE CAR WAS IN SHOP, UNTIL ENGINEERING TEAM LOOKED AT THE CAR. I WAS ALSO TOLD THE "RACK" HAD TO BE REPLACED. SATURN CALLED 10/10, 4PM. SAID ENGINEER WOULD LOOK AT CAR SOMETIME FOLLOWING WEEK. SAID THEY HAD "BACKLOG" AND COULDN'T GET TO IT SOONER. 10/13, CALL FROM ENGINEER SAYING NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING, SATURN NOT AT FAULT FOR THE ACCIDENT, WOULD NOT REIMBURSE FOR RENTAL OR COVER DEDUCTIBLE. BUT THEY WOULD FIX THE STEERING UNDER THE WARRANTY - THE SAME STEERING THAT WAS NOT A PROBLEM?! I WAS TOLD THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD BEEN REPLACED AT THE FIRST VISIT. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING COLUMN HAD BEEN REPLACED AT THE FIRST VISIT. OCT. 17, PICKED UP THE VUE FROM THE SATURN DEALER. SUPPOSEDLY, THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED. STEERING WHEEL IS NOW 20 DEGREES OFF CENTER. WHEN STEERING, THERE IS A FEELING OF NO CONTROL & WAY TOO MUCH PLAY. TURNING THE WHEEL PRODUCES A LOUD GROANING SOUND. I WOULD APPRECIATE KNOWING IF OTHERS ARE HAVING THESE SAME PROBLEMS. *LA
