TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND THEN ACCELERATED TO 70 MPH INDEPENDENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL CAP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
MY VEHICLE IS UNDER SAFETY RECALL FOR IGNITION AND REAR LATERAL LINKS. I ORDERED PARTS AT CROPPER'S CHEVROLET IN NOGALES, AZ ON 12/29/2014. THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT IN DESPITE MY FOLLOW UP CALLS. I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE IGNITION AND THE KEY GETS STUCK. THEY SAID GM IS NOT SENDING THEM THE PARTS IN A TIMELY MANNER. WHILE I WAS TYPING THIS, THE PARTS DEPARTMENT OF CROPPER'S CALLED BACK AND SAID THEY DO HAVE THE PARTS AND MY APPOINTMENT IS SCHEDULED FOR 8 AM ON 2/26/2015. AMAZING WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN YOU FINALLY START TO COMPLAIN. *JS

THE CONTACT DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOUR TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
ENGINE HAS ONLY 52000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET OR HIGHWAY THE CAR LOSES POWER AND WILL NOT GO ANY FURTHER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER TWICE WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. AFTER THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS REMEDIED, THE AIR BAG AND SERVICE VEHICLE SOON WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE HORN WOULD NOT WORK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
HELLO, I AM PROUD OWNER OF A 2003 SATURN VUE AND AM THE 2ND ORIGINAL OWNER. THIS PAST SEPTEMBER WHEN I WAS DOING SOME WORK IN THE YARD I HAD MY VUE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY.. NEXT THING I KNOW IS THAT IS POPPED OUT OF GEAR(PARKING BRAKE CABLE HAD BROKEN PRIOR TO THIS) AND IT TOOK A "MINOR" SHOT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. SCRATCHING THE FENDER, TURN LIGHTS, AND BUMPER COVER. THE IGNITION HAS ALWAYS BEEN A LITTLE WEIRD SINCE I PURCHASED IT HOWEVER, IT MAKE MORE SENSE KNOW. UNTIL I GET IT FIXED I ALWAYS KEEP IT IN REVERSE AND NOW HAD THE PARKING BRAKE FIXED. I WOULD ASK GM TO LOOK AT, REPAIR MY IGNITION, AS WELL AS FIXING THE FRONT OF THE CAR. IT WAS ONLY GOING A FEW MILES AN HR BUT THIS I ALWAYS TOOK GREAT CARE OF IT AND NOW IT AS THAT BUMP ON THE FRONT. I WILL BE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT AT THE CLOSEST GM DEALER TO ME (WHICH HAPPENS TO BE ALMOST 20MILES AWAY) TO HAVE THAT IGNITION THING FIXED ASAP. I WAS DRIVING HOME GOING 35-45 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HAD NO POWER. MANAGED TO SAFELY PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TRIED TO TURN CAR BACK ON, PUT INTO GEAR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. HAD CAR TOWED TO MECHANIC AND THE SAID I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GENERAL MOTORS REGARDING MY VEHICLES RECALL 14506 BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2004. I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO SCHEDULE A FIX FOR THIS RECALL. RICE BUICK GMC , 8330 KINGSTON PIKE, KNOXVILLE, TN 865-693-0610 I AM TOLD THE PART FOR THIS FIX HAS YET TO ARRIVE AND I WILL BE CALLED WHEN THE PART ARRIVES. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE AIR BAG COMPONENTS WERE WORKING UP TO STANDARDS AND WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE RELATED TO THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PAM
THE IGNITION SWITCH KEEPS FAILING AND IT IS VERY COSTLY. WHEN I STOP AND TURN THE IGNITION OFF IT WON'T RESTART WITHOUT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IT ALSO STICKS AND THE KEY IS HARD TO REMOVE. I HAVE THREE TIMES REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THIS COSTLY PROCESS IN NOT HOLDING UP. TO DATE. I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT PART OF THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALLS BUT IT IS A RECALL ISSUE. MANY MECHANICS TELL ME THEY KNOW THIS ISSUE BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE ADDRESSED IT. I HOPE THAT I AM NOT ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT CAUSES A DISASTER FOR ME AND OTHERS. *JS
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT AND WOULD NOT GO. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TOW MY CAR FROM THE FREEWAY TO MY HOUSE. *TR
CAR STARTS, HOWEVER CHECK ENGINE, BRAKE, SERVICE LIGHT ALL COME ON. POWER STEERING DOES NOT WORK, NOR DOES REAR WIPER. HAVE IN PAST BEEN ABLE TO RESET THE ISSUE BY PULLING AND REPLACING FUSES WHICH SOLVES ISSUE TEMPORARILY. HOWEVER THAT FIX NO LONGER WORKING. ALSO, NEED TO WRENCH HARD ON STEERING WHEEL TO BE ABLE TO START IGNITION. ONCE ON, ABLE TO REMOVE KEY WHILE VEHICLE IS STILL RUNNING. *TR
STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP I CAN PUT THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION AND IT LOCKS UP THE WHEEL WILL NOT TURN. THE KEY CAN SLIDE IN AND OUT WHILE THE CAR IS TURNED ON. I CAN BECOME STRANDED BECAUSE I CAN NOT GET THE CAR TO TURN ON. I HAVE TO WIGGLE THE WHEEL AND HIT THE BRAKE AND EVEN THEN IT IS NOT ENOUGH. I AM VERY UPSET AND HAVE SEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND IT HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. *TR

I JUST PURCHASED MY 2003 SATURN VUE A MONTH AGO AND A DAY AFTER I GOT IT THE VEHICLE STARTED SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING!! SOMETIMES IT CRANKS RIGHT BACK UP AND THEN OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO JUST LET IT SLOWLY ROLL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SO THAT I CAN CRANK IT BACK UP! I HAVE MY TWO CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN MY CAR WITH ME AND IF THIS DOESN'T GET FIXED IT WILL PROBABLY END UP KILLING ALL THREE OF US! OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE SO SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!! *TR

NOT ONLY THE KEY CAN COME RIGHT OUT, BUT ALSO WHEN THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION AND I GO TO SHUT IT OFF IT WILL GO PAST THE OFF SPOT AND I COME TO FIND A DEAD BATTERY WEEKLY BECAUSE THE IGNITION IS NOT STOPPING THE KEY. THE STEERING FROM THE IGNITION WILL LOCK AND WILL BE DIFFICULT TO UNLOCK. *TR

THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE WHEN MAKING A TURN. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. I BOUGHT A 2003 SATURN VUE FROM AUTO DEALS LOCATED IN BALTIMORE, MARYLAND. APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS LATER THE CAR BEGIN JERKING AND PULLING. I HAD MY SIX YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE. I NOTIFIED THE ESTABLISHMENT ON MAY 7-9 WITHOUT A RETURN CALL. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN ON 5/12/2014 AND HAD THE OWNER TEST DRIVE IT. HE FELT THE JERKING AND PULLING. I STATED I FELT UNSAFE TO DRIVE IT. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK MY VEHICLE AND I HAVE NOT SEEN IT SINCE 5/12/2014. I HAD TO FIND MY VEHICLE AT JERRY'S CHEVROLET WHO GAVE ME AN INVOICE FOR ALMOST $7000 FOR THE TRANSMISSION HAVING TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THE CAR LESS THAN A MONTH. I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE THIS. OCCASIONALLY THERE HAS BEEN A LINE OF SMOKE COMING FROM MY STEERING COLUMN WHEN I START THE CAR. NOW MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF UNLESS I REMOVE THE FUSE. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: MY NAME IS [XXX], OWNER OF SATURN VUE 2003. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS STAYS ON, HAD IT DIAGNOSED COST ME $60.00 TO HAVE IT REMOVED. IN ORDER FOR ME TO PASS THE SMOG TEST NEED TO DRIVE IT FOR 50 MILES THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS STAYS OFF. BUT, AFTER A DAY CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS GOES BACK ON AGAIN. MY IGNITION KEY CAN BE REMOVED WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC ALREADY AND THEY'RE NOT WILLING TO FIX THE CAR, BECAUSE IT'S NOT PART OF THE RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER OF WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,652.
I HAVE A 2003 SATURN VUE. I HAVE HAD IT FOR THREE YEARS BOUGHT IT USED. BEFORE THE RECALL MY CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE KEY COMING OUT OF THE IGNITION WHILE THE CAR IS ON. WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE RECALLS ON THE CARS I REACHED OUT TO GM AND TOLD THEM THAT I KNOW MY CAR IS NOT IN THE RECALL BUT I THINK IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE IT IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY CONTACTED ME GAVE ME VIA EMAIL AND GAVE ME A SERVICE REQUEST NUMBER. I WENT TO A DEALER BY ME WHICH THEY CONTACTED. I HAD THE CAR INSPECTED AND THE DEALER DID IN FACT STATE THAT IT SHOULD BE REPLACED. I THEN RECONTACTED GM TOLD THEM WHAT THEY SAID AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME IN A FEW DAYS. NEVER HAPPENED. AFTER THREE WEEKS OF WAITING AND NOT HEARING FROM THEM I CONTACTED THEM VIA EMAIL LAST FRIDAY. I FINALLY RECEIVED A VOICE MAIL THIS PAST MONDAY STATING THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP ME WHICH I KNOW I TOLD THEM I KNEW. THEY ALSO SAID DUE TO THE AGE OF MY VEHICLE AND THE WARRANTY WOULD HAVE BEEN UP YEARS AGO THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME AT THIS TIME. I WAS FURIOUS AND CALLED BACK LEFT A MESSAGE STATING THAT THE AGE OF MY VEHICLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PROBLEM AT HAND AND THAT WITH ALL THE ATTENTION THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING I THREATENED TO GO TO THE MEDIA. MY CAR HAS ONLY 50000 MILES ON IT, RUNS GREAT BUT HAS THIS PROBLEM AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. THEY STILL TOLD ME SORRY CAN'T HELP. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IT DID NOT DO THIS AT ALL. I HAVE NOTICED ON SAFERCAR.COM THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS WITH NO RESOLUTION. I FEEL SINCE GM KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM IN 2003,THE YEAR BY THE WAY MY CAR WAS BUILT THAT THEY SHOULD ADD 2003 SATURN VUE'S TO THE RECALL LIST. *TR
WAS DRIVING AROUND 45 MPH AND SUDDENLY THE REDUCED POWER LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE SLOWED TO A STOP. I TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED BUT TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY HOME WHERE IT HAS BEEN SITTING. I AM RESEARCHING HOW TO GET THE TCM TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE ENGINE COMPUTER. I WROTE TO GM FOR ASSISTANCE REGARDING THE LAWSUIT WITH SATURN VEHICLES AND THEY ARROGANTLY REPLIED BACK "THAT THEY ARE LONGER ADDRESSING ADDITIONAL COMMUNICATION ON THIS SUBJECT." HOW ARROGANT! *TR
WHEN TRYING TO START THE VUE, WE HAVE ONE PERSON PULL ON THE WHEEL WHILE THE OTHER PERSON TRIES TO START THE CAR. SOMETIMES IT GOES RIGHT AWAY, OTHER TIMES WE HAVE TO KEEP TUGGING ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET IT TO START. ALSO THE KEY CAN COME OUT WHILE DRIVING AND THE CAR STILL STAYS RUNNING. I AM MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THE LOCKING STEERING WHEEL, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT LOCKS WHEN DRIVING. *TR

THE SATURN VUE HAS A LOW MILEAGE AND THE CAR HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND THIS IS VERY ALARMING, THE CAR WILL OVERHEAT AND DOES NOT WANT TO DRIVE AT ALL. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS STOPPED A FEW TIMES AT A STOP LIGHT, ALSO WHEN SITTING IDLE IT WONT START SOMETIMES. *TR
WE HAVE HAD THE CAR NOT START A COUPLE OF TIMES. WHEN THE KEY IS PUT INTO THE IGNITION ON OUR VUE THE CAR DOESN'T WANT TO TURN OVER. AFTER TAKING IT TO A DEALER THE CAR WAS FOUND TO BE SENDING IMPROPER SIGNALS TO THE ENGINE THAT SHUT OFF THE FUEL PUMP AND WOULDN'T ALLOW THE CAR TO START. IT SEEMED THAT SWITCHING THE KEY OUT TO THE SECOND KEY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR IT WAS FIXED BUT ON 02/25 THE SAME ISSUES STARTED AGAIN AND THE CAR WILL START AND RUN FINE ONCE IT DECIDES TO TURN ON. AFTER SEEING THE RECALL INFORMATION FROM GM I BELIEVE THE ISSUE WE HAVE IS THE PRECURSOR TO THEY IGNITION ISSUE WITH THE OTHER 2003-2007 MODELS OF SATURNS. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 45 MILES PER HOUR, THE ENGINE STOPPED AND THERE WERE NO INDICATORS. AFTER SAFELY PULLING THE COASTING VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I NOTICED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WITH KEY IN IT, HAD MOVED TO THE OFF POSITION. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE SAME ISSUE CURRENTLY BEING ADDRESSED BY GM BUT THE 2003 VUE IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. *TR
I TOOK THE CAR TO A GM DEALER FOR ROUTINE SERVICE. SERVICE MANAGER SAID KEY WAS WORN DOWN AND COULD BE REMOVED WHILE NOT IN PARK. SAID A NEW KEY NEEDED TO BE CUT AND THEY CHARGED FOR IT. I TOLD THE MANAGER I NEVER HAD A KEY WEAR DOWN, AND THE KEY WAS ON A RING WITH OTHER KEYS, INCLUDING AN OLDER CAR, AND THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH KEYS WEARING DOWN. MANAGER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO ABOUT IT. SOUNDS RELATED TO THE IGNITION RECALL, SO I'M CONCERNED THAT THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS NOT EVEN AWARE OF IT, AND STILL HAS NOT CONTACTED ME ABOUT THE RECALL. IF THAT IS NOT COVERING UP THE IGNITION ISSUE, IT IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF POOR REPORTING AND TRACKING OF THE ISSUE. *TR
AFTER TALKING TO A SATURN CAR CARE SPECIALIST IN JANUARY 2014 BECAUSE OF A LOUD NOISE IN STEERING COLUMN, AND AFTER HAVING BEEN TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM I WAS EXPERIENCING, IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP TO HAVE PROBLEM INSPECTED WHICH I DID. WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, THERE IS A LOUD NOISE LIKE A RUBBER BAND IS BEING STRETCHED TO THE POINT OF BREAKING. THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT DEALERSHIP REPORTED ON REPAIR INVOICE: "STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG COIL MAKING A NOISE. THE NOISE IS DUE ONLY TO PLASTIC ITEMS MAKING CONTACT WITH ONE ANOTHER. THIS NOISE IS COMMON IN COLD WEATHER AND IS NOT AN AREA OF CONCERN AT THIS TIME". I LIVE IN A HIGH TEMPERATURE/HIGH HUMIDITY STATE AND THE PROBLEM IS CONSTANT - NOT ONLY IN WINTER. AFTER VISITING THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INSPECTED, THE NOISE WAS GONE BUT THAT LASTED ONLY FOR A WEEK OR SO AND IT RETURNED AND IT STILL PERSISTS TO THIS DATE. I WAS THEN ADVISED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER TO USE A DRY SILICONE SPRAY ON THE STEERING COLUMN/AIR BAG AREA AND THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. IT DID NOT. OR, I COULD HAVE THE CURRENT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG REPLACED AT MY OWN COST WHICH I OPTED NOT TO DO BECAUSE OF THE EXPENSE. I HAVE BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AIR BAG PROBLEM FOR A LONG TIME. IT ORIGINALLY STARTED WHILE I WAS STILL LIVING IN ANOTHER STATE UNTIL THREE YEARS AGO WHEN I MOVED TO MY CURRENT ADDRESS. MY QUESTION IS THIS: HAVE OTHER OWNERS OF VEHICLES WITH AIR BAG PROBLEMS ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS NOISE PRIOR TO THE AIR BAGS EXPLODING WITH SHARP METAL OBJECTS SERIOUSLY INJURING THEM? OR, WAS A NOISE LIKE THIS REPORTED TO FRIENDS/RELATIVES BY THOSE KILLED PRIOR TO THE INCIDENTS? HEADING NORTH BOUND ON 5 FRWY DOING ABOUT SIXTY AND CAR SOUNDED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL, ENGINE WINDED UP IN RPMS, THE GEAR WAS IN DRIVE POSITION, WITH NO ACCELERATION I COASTED TO A STOP AT BOTTOM OF NEXT EXIT. I WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER 5500. DOLLARS. I'M EXTREMELY UPSET AND WONDERED IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO RECIEVE ANY COMPERNSATION OR ASSISTANCE TO GET THIS REPAIRED?
