2003 SATURN VUE. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE TRANSMISSION *TGW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATE 25 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND UNDER THE HOOD IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE ERUPTION OF FLAMES. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND HAD COMPLICATIONS OPENING THE DOOR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAD LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. THE CONTACT WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TOW STATION AND WAS DECLARED AS DESTROYED. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,072.
ON THE 27TH OF AUGUST 2011 THE POWER TRAIN (VTI TRANSMISSION) QUIT WORKING. I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND HAD APPLIED MY BRAKES, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE VTI TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I WAS LEFT STRANDED WITH ONLY REVERSE. SATURN HAD ISSUED A VTI TRANSMISSION LETTER SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE THAT STATED THEY KNEW THEIR WAS A DEFECT WITH THE VTI TRANSMISSION AND ALL TRANSMISSION WORK WOULD BE 100% COVERED. NOW THE NEW OWNER OF GM STATES HE DOESN'T HAVE TO HONOR THAT VTI TRANSMISSION LETTER. SINCE THAT INCIDENT THE VTI TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT THREE MORE TIMES. *TR
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2010 WITH 85000 MILES ON IT, ONE WEEK AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WENT OUT. AROUND SIX MONTHS LATER THE COIL PACK WENT OUT, TWO MONTHS AFTER THAT THE FRONT BEARINGS WENT OUT. AT ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS THE TUMBLER IN THE IGNITION WENT OUT. AT ABOUT NINE MONTHS THE THERMOSTAT WENT OUT. WE NOW ARE BEING TOLD THAT THE RACK AND PINION AND TRANSMISSION ARE BAD AT 116000 MILES AND LESS THAN 18 MONTHS SINCE OUR PURCHASE DATE. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES HAVING THESE SORT OF ISSUES. I ALSO HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE MAKER OF THE VEHICLE IN WHICH WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF. I FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND IT SEEMS QUITE RARE THAT ONE WOULD HAVE SO MANY ISSUES WITH A VEHICLE IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. *TR
WE PURCHASED OUR 2003 SATURN NEW. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED RIGHT AFTER WE PURCHASED IT. WE HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH THE CAR NOT WANTING TO GET IN TO GEAR ALONG WITH THE IGNITION NOT TURNING ON. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING TROUBLE GETTING INTO GEAR FOR QUITE SOMETIME. WE HAD IT SERVICES ONCE WITH NO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SEEN. WE WERE TOLD THE IGNITION WOULD COST US 600 PLUS TO REPAIR. IT ONLY HAS AROUND 86000 MILES ON IT AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SEE ALL THE REVIEWS/COMPLAINTS ON THIS MODEL. NO ONE IS BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. MY DAUGHTER WAS HEADING TO COLLEGE ON SATURDAY, AUG 20, 2011. THE DAY BEFORE SHE WAS LEAVING FOR A 2 HOUR TRIP, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO IN DRIVE. *TR
THIS VEHICLE WAS 6 CYLINDER MODEL WITH AWD. IT HAS A STANDARD 5 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT (SLIPPED) COMPLETELY GOING UP A LOW RISE. AFTER STOPPING AND STARTING UP AGAIN, IT WORKED AGAIN FOR ANOTHER FEW HUNDRED YARDS AND THEN WENT OUT AGAIN JUST AS WE WENT INTO AN INTERSECTION. WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER AND CALL FOR A TOW. A TOTAL REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS REQUIRED AT CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2003 SATURN VUE IN 2008 WITH 120,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAD A 3 MONTH POWER TAM WARRANTY. 1 MONTH AFTER THAT EXPIRED THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. FURIOUS, I CALLED THE SATURN DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE AMAZING. THEY UNDERSTOOD AND PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION IN, PAID FOR THE TOWING AND EVEN REIMBURSED ME FOR THE RENTAL CAR EXPENSE. THE NEW TRANSMISSION WENT OUT 3 YEARS LATER, AND I PUT LESS THAN 20,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE FROM GM BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR. MILEAGE? I BOUGHT IT USED! NOW I AM STUCK WITH A CAR THAT IS WORTH NOTHING BUT THE SPARE PARTS?! THERE IS A LONG HISTORY OF THIS MODEL BLOWING OUT TRANSMISSION AND GM DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT!? THIS IS NOT AN OWNER'S PROBLEM, ITS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM AND THEY OFFER 0 BACK FOR A TRADE IN REBATE?! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE AND ONLY FURTHER PROVES THAT THE AMERICAN AUTO INDUSTRY CUTS CORNERS AS WELL AS SCAMS ITS CUSTOMERS. THIS IS A SHAMEFUL COMPANY, AND I HOPE THIS COMPLAINT IS HEARD. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY IN 55-MPH ZONE, FORCED TO LANE CHANGE BY MERGING TRAFFIC TRAVELING FAST. HAD TO COME BACK INTO FIRST LANE AS ANOTHER CAR SPED UP IN PASSING LANE AT SAME TIME WE MOVED OVER. NOWHERE TO GO; CAR SPUN OUT, ROLLED AND HIT HILL ON SIDE OF HIGHWAY. VEHICLE HAD FRONT AIRBAGS (DRIVER AND PASSENGER), AND SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS FOR FRONT AND REAR PASSENGERS. AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED THROUGHOUT ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLY DEMOLISHED. THANK GOD, WE ARE ALIVE, BUT TOTAL DEMOLITION WITH NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT? HOW AND WHY DID THIS MALFUNCTION? *KB
HORN STARTING SOUNDING OFF, KEPT SOUNDING UNTIL BATTERY DIED. HORN SWITCH IS IN THE STEER WHEEL AND CONNECTED TO THE AIRBAG. ONLY WAY TO FIX IS BY HAVING HORN FUSE IN PLUGGED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.

I OWN A SET OF RECALL TIRES TOYO NOONE LET ME KNOW THEY WHERE RECALLED BUT THE BACK TIRE WENT OUT FIRST AND KNOW THE FRONT TIRE IS IN SUCH BAD SHAPE CANT DRIVE THE CAR MY WIFE LIKE TO GOT HURT THE FIRST TIME THE INSIDEBELT HAS GONE OUT ON 2 TIRES ALREADY WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS TO FIX MY PROBLEM. *TR
MY CAR HAS 103,000 ON IT AND HAS BEEN VERY WELL MAINTAINED. IT SUDDENLY DIED WITH NO WARNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE SHOP, WHERE THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC. I HAVE A TRANSMISSION LEAK, A BAD INTAKE MANIFOLD THAT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO RUN INCREDIBLY LEAN, AND A SENSOR PROBLEM. THIS CAR IS BABIED, AND WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE SHOULD NOT BE EXPERIENCING ANY ISSUES WITH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THE TRANSMISSION. THE SENSOR I CAN UNDERSTAND FAILING, BUT THE AMOUNT OF ISSUES THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD, AND THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THE 2003 SATURN VUE V6 AWD IS STAGGERING. THESE ARE CLEARLY VEHICLES WITH ISSUES AND SATURN OWNERS SHOULD RECEIVE SOME SORT OF COMPENSATION FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE ARE PUTTING OUT TO MAKE REPAIRS FOR SHODDY WORKMANSHIP. *TR
MY WIFE & I BOUGHT A USED 03 SATURN VUE WITH ONLY 39,000 MILES ON JUN 20. GREAT CONDITION UNTIL JUL 19, THE CAR STARTED ACTING STRANGE. WE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY THOUGH IT MAY BE THE TRANSMISSION TO TAKE IT TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST. WE DID & SURE ENOUGH IT IS. WE ARE ON A TIGHT BUDGET AND UNABLE TO EVEN GET ANOTHER LOAN. WE CAME ACROSS A WEBSITE THAT THE 03 SATURN VUE HAD A RECALL AND A LAWSUIT. WHY ARE THESE DEALERS STILL SELLING SATURN'S WITH A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION? WE MADE OUR 1ST CAR PAYMENT ON JUL 15 AND NOW IT IS JUST SITTING THERE. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE! *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND WHEN PLACED IN A PARTICULAR GEAR. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 52,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. WHILE THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED WITH THE FLICKERING OF FOUR AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT AND REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEGAN TO OPERATE. THE FAILURES RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION OR NOT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
WE OWN A 2003 SATURN VUE THAT HAS 86,013 MILES ON IT. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW AT THE LOCAL SATURN DEALERSHIP. ON MAY 31, 2011 WHILE WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY OUR CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MPH. WE TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THE VTI TRANSMISSION WAS OUT. *TR

THE VIT TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE DEALER STATED THAT IT COULD BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, IT MAY OR MAY NOT LAST BEYOND 20,000 MILES. THE DEALER GUARANTEED THE REPAIR FOR ONE YEAR OR 12,000 MILES WITH EXCEEDS THE CONTACTS COMMUTE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD GIVE HER $5,000 TOWARDS A NEW VEHICLE; HOWEVER, SHE COULD NOT AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY LOSE POWER, THE SECURITY LIGHT BLINKS 3 TIMES THEN THE CAR WILL EITHER REGAIN POWER OR SHUT OFF. *TR
THE HORN WAS SOUNDING ALL THE TIME WAS INTERMITTENT NOW ON ALL THE TIME , HAD TO REMOVE THE FUSE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION WITHOUT THE VEHICLE BEING IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
2003 SATURN VUE CVT/VTI TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. ALREADY "FIXED" AT A SATURN DEALER 2 YEARS AGO AFTER COMPLETE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING ON A CURVY 55 MPH COUNTRY ROAD. AN ACCIDENT WAS POSSIBLE AT THAT TIME AND LUCKILY I HAD A PARKING LOT PULL OFF TO ACCESS. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF A HIGHLY APPARENT KNOW DEFECT. THIS SATURN WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION ONCE AGAIN FAILED WITHOUT NOTICE AND ONLY AFTER A SATURN DEALERSHIP "FIXED" THIS PROBLEM 2 YEARS PRIOR AND NOT MANY MILES LATER. LUCKILY, I WAS RETURNING HOME AFTER RETURNING MY 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TO HER MOTHER JUST TEN MINUTES AND 6 MILES EARLIER. IF SHE WAS IN THE BACK SEAT IT IS HIGHLY LIKELY SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. THE PASSENGER WAS INJURED AND RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL. I WAS BANGED UP AS THE DRIVER. THIS VTI TRANSMISSION IS AN EPIC FAILURE! HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO LOSE THEIR LIVES BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE. I WAS COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF THE WIDESPREAD PROBLEM UNTIL I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET. BEYOND SHOCKING, TO SAY THE LEAST. I AM CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY AND INQUIRING ABOUT BEING STUCK WITH THIS UNSAFE LEMON. I HAVE BEEN REFERRED BY SATURN TO A LOCAL GM DEALER FOR SERVICE VIA MAIL, SO I WILL START THERE. I AM DISMAYED THAT THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING DONE WITH THIS EVEN AFTER A CLASS ACTION SUIT WAS AWARDED WHICH I WAS UNAWARE OF UNTIL TONIGHT 4/6/11. CAN YOU LIVE WITH THE GUILT OF KNOWING ABOUT AN ONGOING AND EVIDENT PROBLEM AND THE LIVES THAT WILL LIKELY BE LOST DUE TO KNOWN PROBLEM. WHY IN THE WORLD HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. TOYOTA HAS A FEW GAS PEDAL ISSUES AND BINGO. I WOULD RATHER BE DRIVING ONE OF THOSE AFTER SEEING AND EXPERIENCING WHAT I HAVE RECENTLY. HOW MANY OF THESE TICKING TIME BOMBS ARE STILL OUT ON THE ROAD. I SEE SEVERAL ALMOST DAILY. THERE IS ANOTHER FORM OF A DOMESTIC TERRORIST AND IT IS THE POOR UNASSUMING SATURN DRIVERS. THIS CAR FELL SHY OF BEING A TOTAL. INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL HAVE INTEREST. *TR
THIS IS REGARDING MY 2003 SATURN VUE. THE VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 140K MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS MAKING NOISE AT ABOUT EXACTLY 95K, THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY GAVE OUT WITHOUT NO INDICATION, JUST COASTED OFF THE ROAD UNTIL THE CAR FINALLY CAME TO A STOP. THE CAR ONLY IDLES I HAVE NO GEARS. AFTER I CALLED SATURN TO REPORT THIS, THEY INDICATED TO TAKE IT TO A SATURN DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED, I INFORMED THEM THAT I COULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND THEY INDICATED THAT I COULD HAVE IT TOWED. I TOLD THEM I WASN'T GOING TO INCUR THE EXPENSE OF TOWING FOR SOMEONE TO INFORM ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD. AT THIS POINT, STILL WAITING FOR SATURN TO CALL TO LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING THEY WILL DO, I AM NOT HOPEFUL, SHE INDICATED TO ME THAT THE WARRANTY RAN OUT AT 100K OR MARCH OF THIS YEAR AND IT WAS MAY WHEN I CONTACTED THEM. WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT EVERYONE HAS WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HONOR SOMETHING... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE COULD ONLY BE DRIVEN IN FIRST OR SECOND GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT HE NEEDED THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WOULD POSSIBLY REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY SON NOTICED A SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE THAT WAS NOT NORMAL. WHEN WE STOPPED I OPENED THE HOOD AND INVESTIGATED. WHEN IDILING IT SOUNDED LIKE A CHAIN SLAPPING, AT 1000 RPMS THE SOUND WAS LIKE A WHIR INSTEAD OF A SLAP. AFTER LISTENING FOR A FEW MOMENTS I DECIDED IT SOUNDED LIKE THE TIMING CHAIN. THE NEXT DAY MY WIFE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY DETERMINED THAT THE TENSIONER HAD FAILED AND THE CHAIN WAS INDEED SLAPPING AROUND, BUT IT HAD NOT DAMAGED A VALVE. I CHECKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT SATURN ENGINES, SUCH AS MINE (2.2L ENGINES), DID INDEED HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TIMING CHAIN. A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THAT ENGINE, BUT ONLY 2000-2002 MODEL YEAR. TOTAL COST TO REPAIR WAS ALMOST $1400.00
WE PURCHASED A 2003 SATURN VUE FROM AN INDIVIDUAL ON FEBRUARY 14, 2011. WE HAD THE CAR ALMOST ONE MONTH AND WE WERE OUT TO EAT ON A SUNDAY IN HENDERSONVILLE TN WHEN MY HUSBAND GOES TO PUT OUR VUE INTO REVERSE TO PULL OUT OF A STALL AND IT WOULD BACK UP IT JUST WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. WE THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID. WE FILLED IT WITH SOME AND IT STILL DIDNT MOVE FORWARD ONLY REVERSE. WELL WE CALL FOR IT TO BE TOWED TO THE NEAREST SATURN DEALER IN GOODLETTSVILLE TN. NOW GM IS GIVING US THE RUNAROUND ABOUT GIVING US ANY MONEY AT ALL ON THIS VEHICLE. WE FURTHER FOUND OUT UPON INVESTIGATION ON THE INTERNET THAT SATURN ADMITTED THERE WAS TROUBLES WITH THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY WERE NEVER MADE TO RECALL THESE TRANSMISSIONS. NOW AS A CONSUMER THAT MAKES ME MAD, WE WENT ON CRAIGSLIST AND THERE ARE A TON OF THESE BEING SOLD RIGHT HERE IN TENNESSEE. MORE SUCKERS THAT HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE GETTING INTO. WHAT IF MY HUSBAND WERE TO HAVE BEEN IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC THAT DAY AND A SEMI RAMMED INTO HIM BECAUSE HE COULD ONLY GO BACKWARDS???????? THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!!!!! I AM MAD AS A CONSUMER AND I DONT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO GO THROUGH THIS NIGHTMARE! *TR
BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FAILURE WITH LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND GAUGES. *TR

WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ON THE RIGHT SIDE IT DISPLAYED REDUCE SPEED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AS IS AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE AS WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. MY 2003 SATURN VUE SEEMS TO BE HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IT IS SLOW TO START, LACK OF POWER, AND HAVE NOTICED WHILE IN GEAR RPM'S UP TO 5000 - 6000. AFTER IT SITS IT SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE GEARS BUT RPM'S STILL TOO HIGH WHEN IT DOES SHIFT. I TOOK IT TO ONE SHOP THAT WAS NOT WILLING TO WORK ON IT BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH SATURNS, HE DID TELL ME THAT THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTICS TEST AND IT CAME BACK WITH A "TRANSMISSION CODE". IT IS NOW AT ANOTHER SHOP FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. *LN
2003 SATURN VUE 4WD. KEY NOT TURNING, HARD TO START. HAVE TO KEEP MAKING NEW KEYS TO WORK. CONTACTED SATURN DEALER AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS EVER DONE ON MY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED IT USED APPROX 2 YEARS AGO FROM CAPITAL FORD AUTO CREDIT. I AM BEING TOLD THAT THE RECALL IS CLOSED AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNLESS I PAY FOR IT. I AM APPEALING WITH ALL DUE RESPECT FOR A COMPLETE REMEDY FROM GENERAL MOTORS. IN 2007 I PURCHASED A 2003 FROM SATURN OF MARIETTA IN MARIETTA GEORGIA. INITIALLY I EXPRESSED THE DESIRE FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE (A HONDA SUV) BUT THE SALES PEOPLE AT THE DEALERSHIP WERE ADAMANT ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR AND FINALLY TALKED ME INTO IT. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS BETTER THAN A HONDA SUV, ETC. IN MARCH 2008 I MOVED TO CHARLOTTE N.C. BECAUSE OF A JOB OPPORTUNITY. THEN IN THE SUMMER OF 2009 THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A VERY PECULIAR NOISE. I TOOK IT TO TWO TRANSMISSION SHOPS WHO REFUSED TO WORK ON IT. AT THE TIME I DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY REFUSED THIS WORK. HOWEVER, I WAS BLESSED WHEN THE SECOND ONE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD HEARD OF SOME ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO THE SATURN OF SOUTH BOULEVARD. I DID SO. IT TOOK ME THE ENTIRE SUMMER TO SCRATCH AND SAVE TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY ADVISED ME THAT GM WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE BULK OF THE COSTS BECAUSE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY TO SECOND OWNERS ON THE VEHICLE. THAT'S ALL THEY TOLD ME. IN AUGUST OF 2009 I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO SAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PICK UP THE CAR WHICH THEY REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION TO THE TUNE OF APPROXIMATELY $3400.00. FAST FORWARD TO APPROXIMATELY ON JANUARY 16, 2011 THE CAR BEGAN MAKING THE SAME PECULIAR NOISES. NOW THIS IS ONLY 27,000 MILES AND 18 MONTHS LATER. SO I TOOK IT TO 3 REPAIR SHOPS INCLUDING STEVE MOORE CHEVROLET ON SOUTH BOULEVARD (BECAUSE THEY DO ALL THE WORK FOR SATURN NOW I WAS TOLD). THE ISSUE HAS NOW RECURRED. ONLY TWO WEEKS AGO I FOUND OUT THAT THE CAR WAS INITIALLY PUT ON THE STREET WITH THE WRONG TRANSMISSION WHICH IS WHY IT HAS ISSUES. AND I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT IN 2009 SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT SOME $5000 REIMBURSEMENT SO I COULD HAVE TRADED IT IN. DRIVING IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT CAN STOP WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR

I BOUGHT A SATURN VUE 2003 WITH A VTI TRANSMISSION ON APRIL 1ST 2009, WITH A 41000 MILES. ON NOVEMBER 09, 2010 THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. WITH NO ADVANCE WARNING AS I WAS GETTING ON TO THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED LOSING POWER. WE HAD WARRANTY ON IT AND THEY REPLACED THE FIRST ONE AND ALSO HAD PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT NOW THAT SATURN IS NOT IN BUSINESS THEY WILL NOT HONOR OUR WARRANTY. TAKATA RECALL THE AIR BAG IS BEING INFLATED AND MAKING THE HORN GO OFF NONSTOP AND I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE FUSE FOR THE HORN TAKEN OUT. TO PREVENT FROM EITHER THE HORN GOING OFF AND EXPLODING WHILE I DRIVE TO WORK OR ETC... I HAVE HAD THE HORN REPLACED A FEW YEARS AGO AND THE PROBLEM IS WORSE AGAIN ESPECIALLY WITH THE SUMMER HEAT IN GEORGIA.
