MY CAR STALLS WHEN I COME TO A STOP. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC CVT CAR. HE HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN I STOP AND THEN ACCELERATE. *TR
I HAD ENTERED A PARKING SPACE, AND WAS SLOWING TO COME TO THE END OF SAID PARKING SPACE. THE CAR RAPIDLY ACCELERATED, AND I COULD NOT STOP IT WITH THE BRAKE. I HIT THE CONCRETE AT THE END OF THE SPACE AT FULL SPEED, WHICH STOPPED THE CAR. I NOTICED THAT THE IMPACT HAD SLIPPED THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, IT REGISTERED THAT IT WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL. I HAVE NEVER USED CRUISE CONTROL ON ANY THIS OR ANY OTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE BRUISING FROM THE SEAT BELT, AND NECK PAIN FROM THE IMPACT. THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE DUE TO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END, AND A RUMBLING NOISE IN THE ENGINE WITH POOR RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING. *TR
OCCUPANCY DETECTION SENSOR FAILED, PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. *TR
I DROVE CAR AND PARKED IT. THE NEXT DAY I NOTICED WHEN TURNING CORNERS IT WAS HARD TO STEER, NO POWER STEERING. IT IS NOT THAT NOTICEABLE WHILE ROUNDING SLIGHT CURVES IN THE ROAD. THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL IS FINE. I PARKED IT IN MY GARAGE THINKING PERHAPS THE EXTREME COLD CONDITIONS WAS A FACTOR. AFTER PARKED IN GARAGE OVERNIGHT, IT INITIALLY HANDLED FINE, DROVE 19 MILES AND PARKED IT. DROVE IT AND IT SUDDENLY RECURRED. CALLED DEALER AND HAS NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED, ONE OWNER, IN MAY 2013. WE HAVE CONSTANTLY HAD TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT AND MINI BULBS. WE HAVE NOT PURCHASED SUBARU BULBS AND DID NOT HAVE DEALER TO INSTALL. DEALER IS 2 HRS AWAY AND WOULD BE TOO EXPENSIVE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE BULBS BUT IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS MODEL CAR. THEY ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO GET TO AND TO REPLACE AS MY HUSBAND AND I REPLACE THEM EACH TIME. ON NOVEMBER 27, 2013, ONE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AND THEN BEFORE WE REPLACED IT ON DECEMBER 13, 2013 THE OTHER HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME (ABOUT ONE HOUR) IN THE DARK AND THANK GOD I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. WE JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN OR IF BOTH WILL BE OUT AT THE SAME TIME. PURCHASED 5/25/13, 11/27/13 HEADLIGHT OUT, 12/13/13 HEADLIGHT OUT, 3/12/14 MINI BULBS REPLACED, 7/1/14 HEADLIGHT OUT, 10/21/14 HEADLIGHT OUT, 1/6/16 MINI BULBS REPLACED, 5/5/16 HEADLIGHT OUT, 5/101/6 MINI BULBS OUT. THIS WAS ALL THE RECEIPTS I COULD FIND, COULD HAVE BEEN MORE. THIS VERY ANNOYING DUE TO THE DIFFICULTY IN REACHING THE AREA TO REPLACE THE BULBS. PLEASE HAVE SUBARU TO FIND THE CAUSE AND FIX THIS BEFORE THERE IS A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR INJURY TO SOMEONE. THANKS!!
THERE ARE VERY NOTICEABLE VIBRATIONS ON THAT CAN BE FELT THROUGH STEERING WHEEL, FLOOR, AND DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS. VIBRATIONS START TO APPEAR AT THE SPEEDS APPROACHING 60 M/HR; THEY INCREASE EXPONENTIALLY AND BY 75 MILES/HOUR THEY BORDER ON VIOLENT. THE ALIMENT AND WHEEL BALANCE WERE CHECKED AND DETERMINED NOT BE AN ISSUE. THE CAR WAS NEVER IN THE ACCIDENT AND WAS SERVICED REGULARLY. THE DEALER FAILED TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
INCIDENT HAPPENED YESTERDAY 9AM, EXTREME HOT WEATHER. I WAS PARKED ON A HILL- STEEP PARKING. LEFT MY SISTER INSIDE TO GET A PARKING TICKET TO PLACE ON MY DASH BOARD THEN I CAME BACK TO PUT IN THE DASHBOARD, IT WAS STILL ON PARKED- MY SISTER WENT AT THE BACK OF THE CAR THIS TIME AND AS SOON AS I REMOVED THE KEYS FROM IGNITION IT STARTED SLIDING BACK AND IT WOULDN'T STOP- ALMOST RUNNING OVER MY SISTER. I WAS STEPPING ON THE BREAKS BUT SINCE THE KEYS ARE NOT ON THE IGNITION IT WAS NOT WORKING ANYMORE. THEN I PLACED BACK THE KEY THAT STOPPED THE CAR THIS TIME. THE DOOR ON THE DRIVER SEAT SAVED US FR FURTHER SLIDING DOWN AND RUNNING OVER MY SISTER AT THE BACK. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN GIVEN THAT IT SHOULDN'T BE SLIDING WHEN IT'S PARKED. I WON'T BE ABLE TO REMOVE MY KEYS WHEN IT'S NOT PLACED ON PARK. *TR
PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL OR THROTTLE BODYS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO HESITATE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION. THIS HAS NEARLY RESULTED IN ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN MERGING OR PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. PROBLEM OF VEHICLE STALLING WHEN STOPPING AT A LIGHT STARTED AT THE SAME TIME (RELATED PROBLEM). DRIVES FINE UNDER ALL OTHER CONDITIONS. DEALER UNABLE TO ASSIST. *TR
MY SUBARU IS EQUIPPED WITH CVT, WHEN FUEL IS APPEALED ENGINE REVS, PAUSE, THEN DROP IN REV AND ACCELERATION. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN PASSING, CORNERING, OR ANY OTHER POINT WHEN IN A ROLLING START. *TR
VIBRATIONS OCCUR WHEN EXCEEDING 50 MPH. THESE VIBRATIONS EXTEND TO THE STEERING WHEEL, FLOOR, AND DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS AND INCREASE AS SPEEDS BECOMING ENHANCED IN SPEEDS OVER 70MPH. NO ACCIDENTS AND REGULAR DEALER SERVICE. HAVE HAD MULTIPLE BALANCES, ALIGNMENTS AND 2 NEW SETS OF TIRES TO NO AVAIL. CAR PRESENTLY IN DEALER REPAIR FOR GREATER THAN 8 WEEKS TRYING TO FIX PROBLEM. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 SUBARU LEGACY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE SUN ROOF LEAKED WATER INTO THE VEHICLE. WATER ALSO LEAKED THROUGH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. IN NOVEMBER OF 2012, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY COLONIAL SUBARU (200 W STREET RD, FEASTERVILLE-TREVOSE, PENNSYLVANIA 19053), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THE REPAIR. GLANZMANN SUBARU (95 OLD YORK RD, JENKINTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA 19046, (215) 249-6326) ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FLUSH THE SUN ROOF TO REMOVE DEBRIS, SUCH AS POLLEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURED A TOTAL OF FIVE OR SIX TIMES SINCE NOVEMBER OF 2012. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 135592085980. THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG IN OUR 2010 LEGACY IS TURNING OFF INTERMITTENTLY AND SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION, ALTHOUGH THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED BY A 120-POUND PERSON. THE BAG IS DEACTIVATING EVEN THOUGH THE SEAT IS SECURELY LOCKED INTO POSITION AS FAR FROM THE DASHBOARD AS IT WILL MOVE, AND NOTHING IS PLACED BENEATH THE PASSENGERS SEAT. TO REACTIVATE THE AIR BAG, IT IS NECESSARY TO STOP, THEN TO RESTART THE ENGINE, AND THAT MANEUVER IS FREQUENTLY NOT FEASIBLE IN EITHER HEAVY FREEWAY TRAFFIC, OR ON REMOTE HIGHWAYS THAT LACK SHOULDERS. THE REBOOTING PROCEDURE INDICATES THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT ANY SENSOR FOR THE SEAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER OPERATING THE AIR BAG. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO TREAT THIS PROBLEM. *KB
BETWEEN 60-75 MPH THERE IS A STRONG VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEEL. NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH THE LEGACYS AND OUTBACKS. *TT
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT INDICATING AIR BAG IS OFF WHEN A 5'4'' 112 POUND ADULT FEMALE IS IN THE SEAT. THE INDICATION LIGHT WILL SOMETIMES FLICKER FROM OFF TO ON BUT MAINLY REMAINS OFF FOR THE DURATION OF THE DRIVE REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED AS WELL AS WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK. THIS INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE CAR IN JUNE 2011 AND CONTINUES TO OCCUR EACH TIME MY WIFE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. *KB
LEGACY 2010 GT - PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG LIGHT OFF WHEN PASSENGER WEIGHS 125 LB OR LESS. ADULT IS A FULL SIZE ADULT: 120 LB, 5'5", 37 YEARS OLD WOMAN. *TR
STEERING COLUMN AND SEAT VIBRATES AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 60 MILES/HOUR. *TR
VERY BAD VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT END IN SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 40MPH. MANY OTHER SUBARU LEGACY OWNERS ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING THIS. THE WHEEL SHAKES AND REQUIRES NUMEROUS AND FREQUENT ADJUSTMENTS AS IT VIBRATES CONSTANTLY. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS WITH NO KNOW FIX FROM SUBARU. *TR
FRONTAL DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN AUTOMOBILE STRUCK A UTILITY POLE HEAD-ON WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE TO DAMAGE IT BEYOND ECONOMIC REPAIR. ONLY OCCUPANT WAS OPERATOR, AND WAS USING SEATBELT BUT WAS INJURED DUE TO FORCE OF IMPACT AGAINST THE STEERING WHEEL. NOTE 1: MILEAGE IS UNKNOWN. FIGURE SUPPLIED IS AN ESTIMATE. MY 2010 SUBARU LEGACY AUTOMATIC...WHILE ACCELERATING ON AN INCLINE LOST ALL ACCELERATION, CAR ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL, NO RESPONSE FROM THE THROTTLE. LIGHTS WERE STILL ON, NO WARNING LIGHT INDICATORS. PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED. PROBLEM HAS NOT OCCURRED SINCE. DEALER SAYS HE CAN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND THE DIAGNOSTICS REVEAL NO ERROR CODES. AFRAID TO DRIVE MY NEW SUBARU. *TR
TPMS SYSTEM ON SUBARU 2010 LEGACY IS TRIGGERED WHEN TIRE PRESSURE FALLS JUST BELOW PLACARD COLD TIRE PRESSURE. DEALER (LITHIA SUBARU, RENO) RECOMMENDS INCREASING TIRE PRESSURE TO 125% OF PLACARD COLD TIRE PRESSURE. SUBARU ALSO RECOMMENDS INCREASING TIRE PRESSURE. THIS LEADS TO MANY DRIVERS DRIVING WITH OVERINFLATED TIRES. SUBARU NEEDS TO LOWER THE PRESSURE AT WHICH TPMS SYSTEM INDICATES LOW TIRE PRESSURE TO ACTUALLY LOW TIRE PRESSURE. 75-80% OF PLACARD COLD TIRE PRESSURE WOULD SEEM AN ADEQUATE SOLUTION. *TR
THE 2010 SUBARU LEGACY GT HAS A DEFECT IN THE SENSOR THAT DETERMINES WEIGHT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS SENSORS FUNCTION IS TO TURN THE AIRBAG ON OR OFF DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT IN THE SEAT. WITH A 114 POUND WOMAN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE AUTOMATIC AIRBAG SENSOR DOES NOT SIGNAL FOR THE AIRBAG TO BE READY TO DEPLOY AND CONTINUES TO BE IN THE OFF MODE. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE SUBARU DEALERSHIPS, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE NEEDED WEIGHT TO TURN THE AIRBAGS TO THE ON MODE WAS 17 POUNDS. MY 114 POUND WIFE IS FAR MORE THAN 17 POUNDS BUT THE AIRBAG SENSOR STILL DOES NOT TRIP TO THE ON MODE. I AM WORRIED THAT A PASSENGER WILL NOT BE PROTECTED IN A POSSIBLE CRASH. *TR
2010 SUBARU LEGACY - HAS A VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL AND IN SEAT - GONE BACK DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES ALREADY, ONCE FOR A ROAD FORCE BALANCE DIDN'T WORK, 2ND TIME NEW TIRES, NEW STEERING DAMPENER, SUSPENSION SHIM, WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND STILL HAVE A VIBRATION. NOW THEIR SEEMS TO A LITTLE PLAY IN STEERING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON TURNS SINCE STEERING DAMPENER WAS REPLACED.. THERE IS A TSB ABOUT THIS ISSUE FIX FROM SUBARU DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 SUBARU LEGACY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY VIBRATE AND TURN TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY DECREASED THE PSI ON THE TIRES. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR WHILE DRIVING ABOVE 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE VARIOUS REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. SHE ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH SHE APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND HEARD TWO CLICKING NOISES. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED AN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE AND WHEN SHE RELEASED THE PRESSURE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL SHE AGAIN HEARD TWO CLICKING NOISES. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. IT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURES CONTINUE TO RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 824 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,894.
ENGINE HAS STALLED (COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN) 5 TIMES AT LOW RPM, LEAVING ALL SYSTEMS OFF, INCLUDING POWER STEERING. CONDITIONS OF EACH STALL: LOW RPM, VEHICLE DECELERATING, CLUTCH ENGAGED, SHIFTER IN NEUTRAL, HOT AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE, AIR CONDITIONER ON. MORE PREVALENT (4 OUT OF 5 OCCURRENCES) WHEN ENGINE IS COLD (WITHIN MINUTES OF STARTING). ENGINE RESTARTS NORMALLY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS THE STALLS HAVE OCCURRED TWICE WHILE PERFORMING A TURN ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 SUBARU LEGACY. WHEN MY WIFE WHO WEIGHS 120 LBS SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG THAT DISPLAYS THE SYSTEM ?ON? DOES NOT ALWAYS DISPLAY. IT REMAINS IN THE OFF INDICATION. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO MY DEALER TWICE WHO CLAIMS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG AND IT IS DESIGNED THAT WAY. DESIGNED TO SOMETIME GO ON AND OTHER TIMES NOT?MAKES NO SENSE. I REPORTED TO SUBARU AMERICA WHO GAVE ME THE SAME STORY AND ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER . I DID FURTHER RESEARCH ON LINE AND APPEARS THERE ARE OTHER REPORTED INSTANCES, EXACTLY THE SAME SCENARIO WITH 2010 LEGACY AND 2010 OUTBACK. IF FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES PASSENGER AIRBAGS, WHY WOULD SUBARU DESIGN A CAR WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOES NOT ALWAYS GO ON. THEY CLAIM MY WIFE MAY BE TOO LIGHT BUT 120 LBS IS A FULL GROWN ADULT. ALSO DOES NOT EXPLAIN WHY IT SOMETIMES WORKS AND OTHER TIMES NOT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS. IT IS EITHER A LATENT DEFECT OR A DESIGN FLAW. *TR
START CAR , ENGINE COLD, OR AT LEAST NOT FULLY WARMED UP. WHILE DRIVING, PUSH CLUTCH IN , TAKE FOOT OFF GAS TO SHIFT. ENGINE REVS DROP TO NEAR ZERO. ENGINE STALLS. ITS INTERMITTENT. BUT SOME ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE THAT HOT WEATHER EXAGGERATES THE ISSUE. SEEMS TO HAPPEN LESS WHEN ENGINE IS FULLY WARMED UP. DEALER HAS RECREATED THE PROBLEM, BUT SAID THEY CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT FIXING IT. THIS CAR HAS DIED IN INTERSECTIONS TWICE AND ALSO ON OPEN ROAD IN TRAFFIC. *TR
DRIVING A 2010 SUBARU LEGACY ON A NARROW STREET WITH A 90 DEGREE TURN. ENTERING THE TURN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WAS PRESSED DISENGAGING THE CLUTCH, THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED SLIGHTLY - THE CAR STALLED AS THE ENGINE DIED. SINCE IT WAS A TURN AND THE CAR HAS POWER STEERING THE NOSE WAS IN THE OPPOSITE LANE BEFORE IT STOPPED. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. *TR
OWN 2010 SUBARU LEGACY . IN LAST MONTH 3TIMES HAD A PROBLEM ;THE STEERING GETS STUCK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON ,CAR COMES TO AUTOMATIC STOP B/C THE ENGINE QUITS. ALL THESE HAPPENED WHEN CAR WAS IN MOTION AT LAW SPEED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT A RATE OF SPEED BETWEEN 15-35 MPH AND DOWN-SHIFTING THE CAR SHUTS OFF! I LOSE POWER-STEERING AND MY ABS BRAKES. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING LOTS AND ALSO WHILE GOING AROUND CORNERS. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN THE AC IS ON HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER (WHO WORKED WITH SUBARU OF AMERICA TECH LINE) THAT IT IS NOT AN AC PROBLEM. MY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. A "REFLASH" HAS BEEN SENT TO THE DEALERS TO SUPPOSEDLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM. SOA STATES MY CAR IS NOW FIXED HOWEVER THEY REFUSE TO GUARANTEE ME 100% THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN CORRECTED BUT THEY INSIST THAT IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM CONCERNED FOR MY LIFE AND/OR THE LIFE OF ANOTHER. NO ACCIDENT TO DATE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 SUBARU LEGACY. WHILE IN REVERSE AND ATTEMPTING TO PARK, THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN A HILL AND CRASHED INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE BRAKES HAD NOT ENGAGED WHEN APPLIED. THE FAILURE WAS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THE BRAKES NOT WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 2,000.

THE DEALER MADE ME PAY BECAUSE BULBS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CHANGING THE LOW BEAM BULBS ON THIS VEHICLE REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE TIRE, AND THE WHEEL WELL LINER - IT TAKE AT LEAST AN HOUR, AND IS EXTREMELY CUMBERSOME. REAR-ENDED BY DRIVER COMING AT FAST SPEED, SHOVED US INTO CAR IN FRONT OF US TWICE, ALTHOUGH I HAD MY FOOT FIRMLY ON BRAKE. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WE BACK OUT OF DRIVEWAY INTO STREET TURNING WHEEL TO LEFT, STRAIGHTEN, DRIVE FORWARD 80 FEET TO THE STOP SIGN. ACCELERATE AND TURN TO THE RIGHT, THERE IS A THUMP FROM UNDER THE REAR OF THE CAR. THEY REPLACED SOUND DEADENING IN THE DOORS BECAUSE IT HARMONIOUSLY VIBRATED AT THE PITCH OF SCRAPING FINGER NAILS ON THE CHALKBOARD, AND GIVE ME THE DEER IN THE HEADLIGHT LOOK WHEN I MENTION THE FIRST SERVICE AND THE TERM, BUSHING. INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWS PASSENGER AIR BAG AS OFF MOST OF THE TIME AND INTERMITTENTLY CHANGES TO ON WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD THE TECHNICIANS BOTH LOOK AT AND VERIFY THE PROBLEM MORE THAN ONCE AND HAVE ALSO RECORDED VIDEO SHOWING MY WIFE SITTING NORMALLY IN THE SEAT WITH THE AIRBAG INDICATOR SHOWING "OFF". SUBARU HAS CONTINUED TO INSIST THAT THE SENSOR IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND HAS EVEN GONE AS FAR AS CLAIMING THAT MY WIFE IS SITTING IMPROPERLY. THEY HAVE TRIED TO "RE-ZERO" THE SENSOR AND THEY CLAIM THAT THE SYSTEM IS SHOWING PROPER FUNCTION. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO LONGER A SPECIFIC WEIGHT SPECIFICATION FOR THE SENSOR (80LBS) AND THAT IT USES FUZZY LOGIC (MULTIPLE SOURCES OF DATA) TO DETERMINE THE SWITCH SETTING. I HAVE MADE 4 TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM INCLUDING LEAVING MY NEW CAR WITH THEM FOR 7 DAYS ONLY TO HAVE IT RETURNED IN THE SAME CONDITION THEM STATING THAT IT WORKS ACCORDING TO SUBARU'S POLICIES. THEY HAVE ALSO CLAIMED TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM ON TWO OTHER 2010 MODELS OF THE CAR BRINGING THEM TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE SENSOR IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.
