TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 73 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK IN A DEPRESSED POSITION AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO THE HIGHWAY DIVIDER. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE CALLED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THE ARM AND NECK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
CAMRY HYBRID BRAKES PULSATING - THIS IS A HAZARDOUS ISSUE WHICH SEEMS TO BE IGNORED BY TOYOTA. JUST GOOGLE, "CHECK VSC SYSTEM TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID" AND YOU WILL SEE THAT 100S OF RESULTS SHOW UP INVOLVING THREADS THAT ARE AT TIMES 100 POSTS LONG AND MENTIONING SPECIFICS LIKE "INTERMITTENT LOSS OF ASSISTED BRAKING" AND "NHTSA INVESTIGATING 30,000 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRIDS FOR BRAKE ASSIST PROBLEMS" - BRAKE ASSIST PROBLEMS ARE NOT TO BE IGNORED. TOYOTA IS ACTING SOCIALLY IRRESPONSIBLY, WITHOUT QUESTION, TO NOT HAVE ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS PART. SINCE I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE 5 YEARS AGO (USED WITH 45K ON IT) THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A STRANGE SOUND WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, ESPECIALLY WHEN AGGRESSIVELY - IF NEEDED. I HAVE A NEWBORN ON THE WAY AND WILL NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID UNTIL I CAN AFFORD THIS COSTLY REPAIR (AT AVERAGE OF $2500-$3000 TO HAVE DEALER INSTALL, FROM WHAT OTHERS SAY). PLEASE HELP. WE ALSO OWN A 2017 TOYOTA RAV4 HYBRID AND HAVE SO FAR HAD NO ISSUES WITH THAT.

STICKY MELTING DASHBOARD
THE FRONT DASHBOARD OF MY CAR HAS MELTED. ON A SUNNY DAY THERE IS TOO MUCH OF A GLARE THAT I CANNOT SEE CLEARLY TO WHAT IS AHEAD. I CANNOT PLACE ANYTHING ON THE DASHBOARD BECAUSE IT STICKS ON THERE AND IT HAS BEGAN TO CHIP OFF WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY BUMP MY NAIL ON IT. IT IS HORRIBLE AND DANGEROUS WITH THAT GLARE. IF SOMEONE WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I MAY NOT SEE THEM ON TIME TO LET THEM PASS BY BECAUSE OF THE GLARE AND IT IS GETTING WORSE AS IT CONTINUES TO MELT EVEN MORE.
DEAR SIR/ MADAM, I HAVE HAD MY CAR TOYOTA CAMRY SINCE 2009(IT IS A 2007 MODEL). IN THE JULY OF 2017 MY CAR STARTED USING MORE OIL THAN USUAL WITH FREQUENT TOP -OFFS. I HAD THE CAR CHECKED AT TOYOTA DEALERSHIP (DUBLIN TOYOTA IN DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA IN JULY 2017) AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR 'S ENGINE COULD BE DEFECTIVE SINCE A TOYOTA BULLETIN FOR DEFECTIVE ENGINE REPAIR HAD BEEN RELEASED FOR THAT MODEL. I HAD TAKEN MY CAR TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS (GLADSTONE TOYOTA IN PORTLAND, OREGON) SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THAT FOR OTHER RECALL NOTICES SUCH AS THE ACCELERATOR GETTING STUCK ETC. BUT NO ONE HAD INFORMED ME OF THIS BULLETIN OR DEFECT. I'VE ALSO RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES FROM TOYOTA FOR OTHER REPAIRS FOR WHICH I PROMPTLY TOOK MY CAR TO THEIR DEALERSHIPS. BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY POLICY BULLETIN FOR THIS PROBLEM VIA MAIL OR EMAIL TO THIS DATE. DUBLIN TOYOTA EMPLOYEES SUGGESTED I CALL THE COMPANY TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET IF I CHOSE TO GET IT REPAIRED. I CALLED TOYOTA AND SPOKE TO A MANAGER BUT THEY REFUSED TO HELP OR REPAIR THE ENGINE STATING THAT MY CAR WAS A FEW HUNDRED MILES OUT OF WARRANTY PER THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. NOW, MY CAR CONSUMES OIL VERY QUICKLY AND I MUST AND HAVE TO TOP IT OFF EVERY 12-15 DAYS. IT HAS A MILEAGE OF AROUND 164000 AT PRESENT. REGARDLESS, MY POINT IS: 1) I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THIS DEFECT BY THE COMPANY(TOYOTA) 2) THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE A MILEAGE LIMIT ON IT. I NEED THIS CAR FOR COMMUTING TO WORK AND I HAVE ALREADY BEEN AFFECTED BY THE WILDFIRES IN SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA. I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER OR CAN YOU CONNECT ME TO THE RIGHT ORGANIZATION /AGENCY/ PERSON WHO COULD HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE?
I HAVE BEEN ADDING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 700 TO 1,000 MILES, SENSE MAY BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY
EXSECIVE OIL CONSUMPTION
STICKY DASHBOARD. CAUSES VISIBILITY HAZARD DUE TO SHINY GLARE. TOYOTA DID NOT NOTIFY AHEAD OF THEIR WARRANTY EXTENSION. RIGHT TOYOTA DEALERSHIP DID NOT MENTION AFTER SERVICE VISITS. TOYOTA WILL NOT REPLACE, SAYS IT IS ,MY FAULT FOR NOT KNOWING AHEAD OF TIME THAT MY DASHBOARD WOULD ONE DAY MELT. CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED AND HAS ONLY 55K MILES. SHAME ON TOYOTA.
MY MOTHER HAS A STICKY DASHBOARD AND THIS CAUSES A POTIENTIAL GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. SHE HAS BEEN IN TWO ACCIDENTS SINCE SHE GOT THIS CAR AND I AM CONCERNED THIS COULD BE IMPEDING HR VISION AND AM CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY.LEXUS NOTICED THE STICKINESS AND REFERRED ME TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP.I CALLED THE MAIN TOYOTA NUMBER AND THE REFERRED IS TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP.THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY MOM'S ANSWERING MACHINE BEFORE LOOKING AT THE CAR THAT THIS IS NOT A RECALL.I FEEL MY MOM HAD BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BECAUSE SHE IS ELDERLY AND HER FIRST LANGUAGE IS NOT ENGLISH.ANY ASSISTANCE IS APPRECIATED.
I HAVE A 2007 CAMRY WITH 125,000 MILES. IT IS IMPECCABLY CARED FOR, IT HAS NEW FRONT AND BACK BRAKES, NEW ROTORS, NEW BATTERY AND NEW TIRES. THE PROBLEM STARTED SEVERAL WEEKS AGO IN APRIL 2017. WHILE DRIVING MODEST SPEEDS ON REGULAR ROADS, THE BREAK AND ABS WARMING LIGHTS COME ON, AND THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING AND GOES TO 0, EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS MOVING. THIS KEEPS HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY WITH NO RELATION TO SPEED OR ROAD CONDITIONS. ALSO, I LIVE IN SUNNY CALIFORNIA, AND NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE HAD TO USE THE ABS SYSTEM FOR ANY BREAKING. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THIS IS AN ABS BRAKE CONTROL MODULE PROBLEM, WHICH WILL COST ABOUT $2500 TO FIX. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!! I AM RETIRED AND CANNOT AFFORD THIS KIND OF EXPENSE!!! I HAVE BEEN DRIVING TOYOTAS FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM OR EVEN HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. MY PRIOR CAMRY LASTED FOR 14 YEARS AND 200,000 MILES AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. TOYOTA TRULY NEEDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR AT LEAST TELL ALL FUTURE CAMRY BUYERS TO BE PREPARED FOR A $2500 - $5000 EXPENSE IN THE FUTURE. IF I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THIS WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT IT!! *JS
I BROUGHT MY CAR IN 2015 AND WHEN I TOLD THE PERSON AT MECHANICSVILLE TOYOTA THAT MY BRAKES WERE MAKING A NOISE THEY INFORMED ME TO BRING TO THE SHOP. WHEN I DID THE MECHANIC'S STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. AND FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS THEY HAVE TOLD ME NOTHING WRONG AND NOW EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THAT IS WRONG. ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I SPOKE TO AM ANGER THE SAME THINS I STATED WAS WRONG WITH IT IS NOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THE ABS ACUATOR...
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND THE CAR BURNS OIL FAST
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, APPROACHING FREEWAY RAMP WHEN SUDDENLY THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. GOOD WEATHER CONDITIONS, APPROXIMATELY 11:00 A.M., 04/13/17. FORTUNATELY THE INSIDE SHADE PANEL WAS CLOSED.
MY BRAKE AND ABS LIGHTS COME ON INTERMITTENT. WHEN THE TWO LIGHTS COME ON THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING AND IT'S DIFFICULT TO BRAKE. MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP STATED THAT MY ABS ACTUATOR/ABS MODULE IS GOING OUT. THIS IS THE SAME YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL OF CARS THAT PEOPLE LOST THERE LIVES DUE TO BRAKE ISSUE. TOYOTA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND REPAIR THIS ISSUE.
MY CAR LOSES OIL AT THE RATE OF A QUART AND A HALF EVERY 500 MILES OR SO. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR AN OBVIOUS LEAK AT THE TOP OF THE ENGINE, BUT CONTINUES TO LOSE OIL AT THIS RATE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THREE MECHANICS NOW THAT THIS IS COMMON IN CAMRYS. IF IT IS SO COMMON, IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY TOYOTA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE DEPRESSED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE STOPPED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL AND TWO OTHER UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SMITHTOWN TOYOTA (360 EAST JERICHO TURNPIKE, SMITHTOWN, NY 11787, (844) 547-4559) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE ACTUATOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 198,000.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2007TOYOTA CAMRY DECEMBER 2016 AND EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT, IT HAS BEEN CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. IT WOULD BURN MY FULL TANK OF OIL AT AROUND 1K-1.2K MILES AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. I,'M AFRAID THAT THIS MUCH OIL CONSUMPTION WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO WRECKING THE MOTOR AND PROBABLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. TOYOTA HAD A WARRANTY FOR THIS TYPE OF ISSUE BUT IT EXPIRED LAST YEAR. AND I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THIS UNTIL JUST RECENTLY SEARCHING FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IN WHICH I WAS NOT AWARE OF IN THE FIRST PLACE, THE ONLY SOLUTION TO THIS WOULD BE A RECALL.
I HAD TO BEAK REALLY HARD ON MY CAR WHEN I GOT CUT OFF AND NOW I HAVE A "CHECK VSC SYSTEM AS WELL AS TRACTION CONTROL OFF LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON SINCE THE HARD BREAK.
THE ENGINE OIL HAS BURNED UP. HAVE ALMOST NO OIL LEFT AFTER GETTING OIL CHANGE LESS THAN 3000 MILES AGO. THE IS NO OIL LEAKAGE ON DRIVEWAY WHERE CAR IS PARKED. OIL FILTER IS ON TIGHT AND OIL CAP IS ON. MY WIFE SAID SHE WAS GETTING A WARNING LIGHT OF SOME KIND THAT DAY SO I CHECKED THE OIL WHEN SHE TOLD ME. I TOOK MY CAR, BOUGHT AND ADDED 4 QTS OF HIGH MILEAGE OIL AND ZMAX TREATMENT TO MINIMIZE ANY POTENTIAL DAMAGE.
ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE SUDDENLY DROPPED TO ZERO AT SAME TIME ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS LIT UP ON DASH. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, ABS AND BRAKE DASH LIGHTS TURNED OFF AT THE SAME TIME SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE JUMPED BACK TO CURRENT SPEED INDICATION. NO LOSS OF POWER EITHER WAY, BUT HAS BEEN CYCLING BETWEEN FOR THE PAST WEEK. NOT LIMITED TO SPECIFIC SPEEDS OF AMOUNT OF TIME ENGINE HAS BEEN RUNNING, AS IT OCCURS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND VARIOUS TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ABS MODULE FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE TRACTION CONTROL WOULD FAIL WHEN THE ABS MODULE FAILED. THE ABS WARNING AND EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DASHBOARD CREATED A GLARE THAT CAUSED THE DRIVER'S VISION TO BE OBSTRUCTED. BOB TYLER TOYOTA WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A WARRANTY EXPANSION ON THE CONDITION OF THE DASHBOARD THAT EXPIRED ON MAY 31, 2017. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY EXPANSION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 189,000.
VEHICLE CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL/BURNING OIL. IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 4 CYLINDER ENGINE. OIL HAS TO BE MONITORED CLOSED SO AT TO NOT BLOW MY ENGINE. CANNOT FIND A RECALL AND NOTIFICATION WAS SENT TO ME. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ON LINE SAW SEVERAL COMPLAINTS BUT NOT RECALL.
MY CAR IS EXCESSIVELY BURNING OIL. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. I HAVE MY OIL CHANGE EVERY 3,00 TO 5,000 MILES AT THE TOYOTA DEALER. MY OIL LEVEL WOULD GO LOW BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. MY HUSBAND WOULD CONSTANTLY CHECK AND ADD OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. MY HUSBAND ASKED ME TO ASK THE TOYOTA DEALER TO CHECK TO SEE IF I HAD AN OIL LEAK. THE DEALER TOLD ME I DID NOT HAVE AN OIL LEAK AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY MY OIL LEVEL WAS GOING LOW BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. AFTER MY HUSBAND DID SOME RESEARCH, HE FOUND OUT THE 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR ENGINES EXCESSIVELY BURNING OIL. TOYOTA AND THE DEALER KNEW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THAT TYPE OF ENGINE BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY AND THEY DID NOT TELL ME! WHO IS GOING TO FIX THIS, IT'S NOT MY FAULT?!
WE OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD IT REGULARLY SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS PURCHASED FROM. AROUND 145,000 MILES, IT STARTED BURNING OIL RAPIDLY, AROUND 1 QUART EVERY 1,500 MILES. I STARTED RESEARCHING AND FOUND THAT TOYOTA IS AWARE OF THIS SITUATION BUT, UNLESS THE ISSUE HAPPENS WITHIN 100,000 MILES, WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. THIS NEEDS TO BE REMEDIED AS THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLE.

I AM NEEDING TO ADD AT LEAST 1 QUART OF OIL TO MY CAR EVERY 1,000-1,200 MILES. MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE AN OIL LEAK. TOYOTA STATED THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I AND NOT THE TIME FRAME TO FIX IT.

CAR GOES THROUGH OVER A QUART OF OIL EVERY THOUSAND MILES. TOYOTA HAS KNOWN ABOUT PROBLEM SINCE 2011 BUT WILL NOT HONOR BECAUSE THE CAR IS JUST OVER 10 YEARS OLD AND HAS 150,010 MILES ON IT. (WARRANTY IS 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES) NEVER WAS SENT A RECALL NOTICE. CONTACTED TOYOTA. WOULD NOT HONOR.
THE SHORT CIRCUITING OF THE ABS ACTUATOR HAS HIT ME TOO. THIS HAPPENED ON 03/22/2017 TO MY 2007 CAMRY LE. IT FIRST CAME UP WHEN I WAS WAITING AT A RED LIGHT. THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME UP AND EVEN WHEN THE CAR STARTED MOVING, THE SPEEDOMETER WASN'T MOVING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE CENTER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT IS GOING TO COST ME $2500. I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND ALMOST HALF OF THE CAR'S WORTH ON REPLACING THIS PART WHEN I WON'T BE SURPRISED IF ANOTHER PART BLOWS UP. MY HUSBAND WAS IN A SEVERE ACCIDENT IN MY CAR ON MARCH 15,2017. TO WHICH THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. WHICH CAUSED HIM TO GET CRUSHED IN THE LOWER HALF OF HIS BODY. THE TACHOMETER WILL THEN BOUNCE BETWEEN ZERO AND WHAT I CAN ONLY ASSUME IS A CLOSE APPROXIMATION OF THE ACTUAL ENGINE RPM. AT THE SAME TIME, THE ABS AND PARKING BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATE AND STAY ON FOR THE DURATION OF THE "EPISODE".

OR THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON. I CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 3000 MI. TOYOTA TOLD ME NOTHING CAN BE DONE BECAUSE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS GIVEN EXPIRED IN OCT. 2016. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JULY, 2015 WITH 146,000 MI. ON IT. I UNDERSTAND THAT A LETTER WAS SENT OUT IN MAY, 2015 REGARDING THIS MATTER. THAT APPARENTLY WENT TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER OR THE DEALERSHIP. THE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS SPONGY, ALSO A HIZZING SOUND COMES FROM THE ACTUATOR AND IT DOES IT FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS THEN STOPS; AFTER THAT I NOTICE A FEW DROPS OF BRAKE FLUID COMING FROM THE ACTUATOR, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST CAR GETS A BRAKE LIGHT WHEN IN MOTION, PROBABLY DUE TO ALL THE LEAKAGE THE ACTUATOR IT'S PRODUCING.
