ON 11/19/2013, I FLIPPED MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE AIR BAGS NEVER CAME OUT. I REPORTED TO TOYOTA CORPORATION AND THEY NEVER OFFERED AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS.
STARTED MY CAR, NOTICED OIL LAMP CAME ON THEN OFF. PROCEEDED TO DRIVE AND OIL LAMP LIGHT FLASHED AGAIN. OIL LIGHT CAME ON AT LEAST A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES. CAME TO TRAFFIC LIGHT, CAME TO A SOFT STOP TO OBSERVE TRAFFIC BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO TURN RIGHT. CAR THEN SHUT OFF AND ALL INDICATORS WERE ON, SUCH AS, BATTERY, ENGINE LIGHT, OIL LIGHT, AND AIR BAG. I PROCEEDED TO RESTART CAR. NO PROBLEM WITH RESTART, OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK CAR TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO FIND OUT WHY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND DUE TO FEAR! TOYOTA EMPLOYEE TOLD ME THEY WOULD DO A DIAGNOSTIC ON MY VEHICLE FREE OF CHARGE TO FIND CAUSE OF SHUT DOWN. PLEASE NOTE, I DID AN OIL CHANGE OCT.15, 2013 AND NOV 18, 2013 CAR SHUT DOWN! AFTER ARRIVING AT A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MY CAR CHECKED TO FIND OUT WHY IT SIMPLY SHUT DOWN, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS NO TIME TO DO A CHECK TO FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED MY CAR TO SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANAGER GAVE ME A VERY SIMPLE REASON AS TO WHY AND WHAT CAUSED IT TO SHUT DOWN. MANAGER TOLD ME I HAVE AN OIL LEAK INSIDE THE ENGINE OF MY CAR. MANAGER STATED I DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY A NEW ENGINE, BUT I NEEDED TO DO A 100-500 OIL DIP STICK CHECK. WHY WAS THE DIP STICK DOWN TO NOTHING IN THE FIRST PLACE? WHY WAS THERE NO OIL IN MY CAR? TECHNICIAN NEVER PUT OIL IN MY CAR. TOYOTA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO ENGINE AS A RESULT OF THEIR MISHANDLING OF VEHICLE AND MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS REGARDING ME. TOYOTA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR STRESS ON OF MY TOYOTA 2007 CAMRY ENGINE. MY LIFE AND THAT OF OTHERS AT RISK BECAUSE OF TOYOTA.. *TR
DASHBORD MELTING (MATERIAL MELT IN THE SUN LIGHT), THAT LEADS TO REFLECTION ON THE GLASS DURING THE DAY TIME THAT HAZADRDS TO DRIVERS. *TR
VVTI OIL LINE RUPTURE 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY W/ V6 ENGINE WE PURCHASED THIS NEW AT A LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER. MY WIFE IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER W/ MYSELF AS THE ONLY OTHER OCCASIONAL DRIVER. THE VEHICLE HAS RECEIVED REGULAR MAINTENANCE ALTHOUGH NOT AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED. VEHICLE, AT TIME OF INCIDENT (11-15-13), HAD 50,893 MILES. WHEN MY WIFE RETURNED HOME FROM SHOPPING SHE SAW A TRAIL OF OIL UP THE DRIVEWAY AND INTO THE GARAGE. THE OIL TRAIL APPEARED TO BEGIN DOWN THE STREET NEAR OUR HOME. WHEN WE RESTARTED THE ENGINE, OIL GUSHED FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE V-6 ENGINE. I CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS ABOUT 1 1/2 - 2 QUARTS LOW. OUR TOYOTA USES NO OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. OIL HAD SPRAYED ALL OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE, THE UNDERCARRIAGE, AND SOME OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. AN INTERNET SEARCH REVEALED A VVTI OIL LINE PROBLEM WITH CERTAIN TOYOTA VEHICLES W/ A V-6 ENGINE. A SHORT RUBBER SECTION OF EXTERNAL ENGINE OIL LINE WOULD LEAK OR RUPTURE. OURS RUPTURED WITH-OUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS OR ALARMS. THE NEXT MORNING WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED AND THEY REPAIRED AND VERIFIED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE VVTI OIL LINE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED BY TOYOTA AND WE HAD TO PAY. I FOUND OUT TOYOTA DID HAVE A LSC 90-K PHASE TWO CAMPAIGN THAT DID COVER THIS BUT IT HAD EXPIRED. WE WERE UNAWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I CALLED AND COMPLAINED TO 2 LEVELS OF TOYOTA THEN WROTE THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT TORRANCE, CA. BUT THEY ALL SAID LETTERS WERE SENT OUT AND THE CAMPAIGN HAD EXPIRED MARCH 31, 2013. THE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE DID OFFER A LIMITED REFUND FOR FUTURE PARTS OR SERVICE AT TOYOTA DEALERS. THIS PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND TOYOTA SHOULD NOT HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE FOR REPAIRING THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM CAN CAUSE FIRES AND RUIN ENGINES. FORTUNATELY WE ONLY LOST A SMALL AMOUNT OF OIL AND THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE DAMAGED OUR ENGINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND LOST POWER. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2007 CAMRY IS MELTING. IT IS VERY STICKY AND PARTS ARE ALSO VERY SHINY CAUSING A GLARE. TOYOTA SAYS THEY HAVE NO CURRENT PROGRAM TO RESOLVE THIS SO I THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY 2200 TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD. I HAVE CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND A NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND TO DECELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VSC WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BRAKE ACTUATOR HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK HEAT SHIELD BECAME SEPARATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THAT THE HEAT SHIELD METAL FAILED DUE TO ELECTRICAL CHARGE AND CORROSION. THE FUEL HEAT SHIELD WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,345.
THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING , ABOUT A MINUTE LATER THE CHECK VSC LIGHT COMES ON AND THE POWER BRAKES FAIL, YOU CAN STILL STOP WITH THE BRAKE, BUT YOU HAVE TO REALLY PRESS HARD ON THE BRAKE, AFTER DRIVING A COUPLE MILES OR A FEW MINUTES THE BRAKES WILL RETURN TO NORMAL. VERY DISCONCERTING AND DANGEROUS, AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. *TR
ABS SYSTEM COMPUTER PROBLEMS. ALL THE DASHBOARD AND THE AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING. THE SPEEDOMETER WENT ZERO, THEN WENT BACK TO NORMAL FOR 5 MINUTES AND STOP WORKING AGAIN. THE TEMPERATURE IT IS TO HIGH DUE OF THE MALFUNCTION OF THE AIR CONDITION. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH CLOSE TO 95 DEGREES IN MIAMI. TOYOTA DEALER INSPECTED MY CAR AND TOLD ME I HAVE TO REPLACE THE ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR AT CLOSE TO $3,500 DOLLARS COST. *TR
ALL SENSOR LIGHTS CAME ON WITH "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" MESSAGE. BRAKES FELT MUSHY AND IT WAS HARDER TO STOP. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY BUT LIGHTS HAD TURNED OFF. DEALERSHIP SCANNED FOR COMPUTER CODES BUT FOUND NOTHING. EVERYTHING FINE. 6 WEEKS LATER ON 300 MILE TRIP, SAME THING OCCURRED. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CONTINUE ON TRIP AND RETURN HOME A WEEK LATER. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP. NOW THEY STATE THAT THERE IS AN INTERNAL LEAK IN THE ABS ACTUATOR AND WANT $3,189.00 TO FIX. READ WHERE THIS PART HAS BEEN REDESIGNED DUE TO AN ENGINEERING FLAW IN ORIGINAL PART AND WHERE MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS MODEL HAVE EXPERIENCED SAME PROBLEM. THE REPAIR COST IS OUTRAGEOUS. THIS MAKES MY CAR DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, BUT I CANNOT AFFORD THE FIX. *TR
MY 2007 CAMRY HYBRID HAS BRAKING ISSUES. I HAVE THE PUMPING NOISE WHEN BRAKES ARE DEPRESSED, WHICH JUST KEEPS GETTING LOUDER. EARLIER THIS YEAR I ALMOST SLAMMED INTO THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME ONCE WHEN, WHILE I WAS COMING TO A STOP ALL MY BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON AND MY CAR SHOT FORWARD. I HAD TO SWERVE INTO THE ONCOMING LANE TO AVOID REAR-ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO CARS IN THE ONCOMING LANE AT THAT MOMENT. ONCE I WAS STOPPED ALL THE LIGHTS WENT OFF AND I BACKED UP INTO A DRIVEWAY TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. VERY SCARY. *TR
I WAS GOING (TRAVELING) ON SOUTH UNION RD WITH MY TOYOTA CAMRY WITH SPEED ABOUT 45-50 M.P.H. I WAS GONNA MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN ON 6602 S. UNION ROAD. AT THAT TIME MY TOYOTA TOOK OFF WITH MAX SPEED AND I WAS TRYING TO USE MY BRAKE WHICH IT WAS NOT WORKING. AT THAT TIME I COULD NOT STOP MY CAR AND I WENT OFF THE ROAD IN A CORNFIELD. *TR
DRIVING ABOUT 25 MPH AND I WAS GOING TO SLOW DOWN TO PARK ON THE CURB AND CAR HAD TROUBLE STOPPING, THE VSC SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT WENT ON AND THEN THE ENGINE JUST DIED. HAD CAR CHECKED OUT IN DECEMBER AT TOYOTA OF REDLANDS AND SAID IT WAS THE BRAKE ACTUATOR AND COST TO FIX WAS GOING TO BE AROUND $2800.00, I DECLINED AND THEY UNDERSTOOD IT WAS EXPENSIVE. *TR
PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE ABS SYSTEM ON THE HYBRID 2007 CAMRY. I ALMOST KILLED MYSELF ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. I WAS GOING ABOUT 60MPH WHEN I HIT ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN ON A CURVE THE BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND, IT WAS LIKE THE BRAKES WERE REALLY HARD TO STEP ON, AND TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL. THE LIGHTS TO CHECK THE VSC SYSTEM CAME ON, CHECK ABS, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT. AFTER A FEW SECONDS EVERYTHING WOULD GO BACK TO NORMAL. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS ON THE 2007 CAMRY HYBRID. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT SO TOYOTA CAN RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. AFTER TAKING IT TO TOYOTA FOR THE LAST 5 MONTHS WITHOUT FINDING A PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WOULD NOT REGISTER ANYTHING AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, NOW THEY ARE SAYING ITS THE ABS SYSTEM AND IT COST $4,000 TO FIX IT. THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THAT NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE REGISTERED COMPLAINTS. SO I ASK HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE WE GET ANY ATTENTION. *TR
BRAKES FAIL... THE PEDAL BRAKE IS PUT SO HARD TO PUSH WHEN COMING A LIGHT TO VSC CHECK SYSTEM...IM SO ANGRY TO TOYOTA ... BUT I STILL LOVE MY CAR ... I NO USE MY CAR BECAUSE IS NOT SECURE FOR MY FAMILY. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, ALL OF THE WARNINGS LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE CONTACT HAD TO USE EXTREME FORCE ON THE BRAKE IN ORDER FOR THEM TO ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
I STARTED MY CAR ONE MORNING, AND SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON: (EMERGENCY) BRAKE LIGHT, RED WARNING LIGHT, YELLOW WARNING LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT. THIS WARNING CAME AND WENT INTERMITTENTLY FOR SOME TIME, AND NOW SEEMS TO BE A PERMANENT PROBLEM. THE BRAKES FEEL JAGGED WHILE PRESSING LIGHTLY, ALMOST LIKE THE BRAKE PADS ARE GONE, AND THE ROTORS ARE UNEVEN. A DEALERSHIP IN OKLAHOMA IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM TO BE WITH THE "ACCUMULATOR" FOR THE ABS SYSTEM. THIS PART AND THE LABOR TO PUT IT IN WILL RUN ME NEARLY $3000, A SUM FAR TOO MANY CAR OWNERS CANNOT AFFORD, INCLUDING MYSELF. TOYOTA HAS INSISTED THAT BECAUSE MY THE PART IS OUT OF 3YR/36000 MILE WARRANTY, THEY WILL NOT HELP IN THE COST OF THIS REPAIR. MEANWHILE, TOYOTA HAS CHANGED THE ORIGINAL OEM PART, A TACIT ACCEPTANCE THAT THE ORIGINAL IS FLAWED, AND NEEDED TO BE RE-ENGINEERED. I CANNOT BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE REPORTED THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM ONLINE WITH NO RECOURSE BUT TO PAY A PHENOMENAL SUM TO HAVE A PART REPLACED THAT IS KNOWN TO HAVE A DANGEROUS DEFECT.
THERE IS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION FOR MY CAR. I HAVE NOTICED THAT I HAVE TO ADD 5-7 QUARTS OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES BECAUSE ABOUT 2000 MILES AFTER MY OIL CHANGE MY OIL LIGHT COMES ON. I CHECK THE OIL AND THE STICK IS BONE DRY MEANING IT IS VERY LOW, ALMOST EMPTY. I HAVE TO ADD A FEW QUARTS OF OIL AND THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I DO THIS UNTIL I NEED TO GO BACK TO GET MY OIL CHANGED AGAIN. THIS IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BASED ON THE RELIABILITY AND DRIVING MY TWO CHILDREN AROUND DAILY IT MAKES ME NERVOUS KNOWING THAT IF I DO NOT STAY DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THIS MY ENGINE COULD BLOW. *TR
BRAKE ACTUATOR FAILED ON THE CAR. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. TOYOTA KNOWS ABOUT THIS. THE OEM REPLACEMENT PART NUMBER IS A DIFFERENT PART NUMBER THAN OEM THAT THE CAR WAS BUILT WITH. THE CAR THANKFULLY WASN'T DAMAGED AS IT WAS GOING VERY SLOWLY, AND ONLY CRASHED INTO THE CURB WHEN THE BRAKE ACTUATOR COMPLETELY FAILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO STOP. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR BY MYSELF TO HOME DEPOT IN LA HABRA. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON (I DON'T RECALL IF THERE WAS AN AUDIBLE SOUND OR NOT) SAYING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VSB BRAKE SYSTEM AND I SHOULD GET IT CHECKED OUT. BECAUSE THE WARNING SCARED ME, I TAPPED ON MY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN SO I COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT IT MEANT AND WHAT I SHOULD DO. BUT MY BRAKES DIDN'T RESPOND. I PUSHED ON MY BRAKES AND REALIZED IT WASN'T SLOWING MY CAR DOWN. I PULLED INTO THE CENTER DIVIDER/TURNING LANE SO I COULD BE OUT OF THE WAY. I FIGURED THE CAR WOULD STOP IF I PUT IT INTO "PARK", BUT IT DIDN'T. WITH MY FOOT COMPLETELY PRESSING THE BRAKE, AND THE CAR IN "PARK" I TURNED INTO THE HOME DEPOT DRIVEWAY AT WHAT FELT LIKE 30 MPH AND THE CAR EVENTUALLY SLOWED DOWN SINCE I WASN'T ACCELERATING ANYMORE AND WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE. MY HUSBAND CALLED A MECHANIC HE KNOWS AND HE SAID TO PRESS THE ON/OFF SWITCH A COUPLE TIMES TO RESET THE COMPUTER OR SOMETHING. I DID THAT AND THE CAR TURNED ON AGAIN LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. I REFUSED TO DRIVE THE CAR ANYWHERE BECAUSE I WAS SO SCARED. MY HUSBAND CAME TO PICK ME UP AND HE DROVE IT TO TOYOTA OF WHITTIER. THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR, DON'T WORRY, AND HE WOULDN'T RELEASE IT TO ME IF IT WASN'T SAFE. WE TOOK IT TO LONGO TOYOTA THE FOLLOWING WEEK. (BEFORE THIS INCIDENT, THE BRAKES HAD STARTED MAKING "SQUELCHING" NOISES AND WOULD PULSE WHEN THEY WERE PRESSED FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO PRIOR) THEY HAD THEIR "HEAD" MECHANIC DRIVE WITH MY HUSBAND AND THE MECHANIC FELT AND HEARD THE BRAKE PROBLEMS WE DESCRIBED, BUT SAID HE WOULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE IT WOULD TAKE TOO MUCH OF HIS TIME AND IT WASN'T WORTH IT TO THEM. WE DON'T HAVE DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS VISIT BECAUSE WE DIDN'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY DIDN'T TAKE THE CAR INTO THEIR GARAGE. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO THE BRAKES WENT OUT AGAIN WHEN I STARTED THE CAR. *TR
DRIVING MY CAMRY HYBRID THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO WORK, STOPPED BY GAS STATION FOR SNACKS AND DRINK, BRAKE SYSTEM COMPLETELY FAILED UPON BACKING OUT OF MY STALL. BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK GOING FORWARD OR IN REVERSE. "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY DASH. LOOKED IT UP IN OWNERS MANUAL. TOLD ME BRAKES WORKED BUT TO DRIVE SLOW. IMMEDIATELY DROVE HOME. HAD TO STOP AT MULTIPLE FOUR WAY STOPS, NEARLY WRECKED TWICE. VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT OR KILLED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT TOYOTA NEEDS TO RESOLVE! TURNS OUT IT IS MY ABS ACCUMULATOR, TOYOTA WANTS $2500 TO FIX. I WANT TOYOTA TO FIX IT FOR FREE SINCE IT IS A SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION ON A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE. *TR
ABS LIGHT IS ON. SO FAR THE CAR STOPS FINE BUT MAKES A STRANGE SOUND WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AND VEHICLE VIBRATES WHEN COMING TO A STOP. ANTILOCK BRAKES DO NOT SEEM TO BE WORKING AS THE CAR DOES SKID IN WET CONDITIONS. *TR

I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING BOTH INCIDENTS TO NO AVAIL. UNFORTUNATELY, THE TOYOTA PEOPLE HAD NO REGARD FOR MY SAFETY. THE OPERATION OF THE BRAKES ON THIS VEHICLE IN AN ABS FAILURE MODE IS DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY. I HAVE DRIVEN PLENTY OF VEHICLES THAT WERE NOT EQUIPPED WITH ABS, AND NONE OF THOSE VEHICLE EVER EXHIBITED THE DANGEROUS BEHAVIORS THIS VEHICLE EXHIBITS WITH A FAILED COMPONENT. SINCE THE BRAKES ON A VEHICLE ARE RELIED UPON IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS ALL COMPONENTS IN THAT SYSTEM SHOULD BE DESIGNED TO FAIL IN A SAFE MANNER LEAVING A VEHICLE THAT IS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE. FURTHER TOYOTA IS AWARE THAT SELECT YEARS OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT OR FAULTY DESIGN SINCE THE ACTUATOR WAS REDESIGNED A COUPLE YEARS AFTER THIS VEHICLE WAS FIRST INTRODUCED INTO THE MARKET. I ASK THAT THE NHTSA INVESTIGATE THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE MODEL AND YEAR TO DETERMINE THE SAFETY OF THESE VEHICLES DURING AN ABS/VSC COMPONENT FAILURE. *TR
