ALTHOUGH WE DID NOT NOTICE IT AT FIRST, AS THE SUMMER WORE ON THE DASH BECAME MORE OF A PROBLEM. I WAS HEADED FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO OHIO FOR MY GRANDMOTHER'S FUNERAL WHEN I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WAS MORE THAN JUST A STICKY DASHBOARD. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD REFLECTS ON THE WINDOW CREATING A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD WHEN DRIVING. NOT EXACTLY AN IDEAL TIME TO FIND OUT THE CAR YOU HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED WAS BARELY DRIVE-ABLE AT NIGHT!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG DEPLOY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO GET THE AIR BAG DEPLOY INDICATOR RESET AT A DEALER, AND THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
TAKATA-DO NOT KWOW IF MY VECHILE IS RECALLED YET,BUT IT SHOULD BE.PURCHASED 7/4/2009.HAS BEEN IN THE HOUSTON,TX AREA THE WHOLE TIME.CANNOT SIT 10 INCHES FROM THE STEERING WHEEL,BECAUSE IT IS A 6 SPEED STANDARD.I AM ALMOST 68 YEARS OLD,AND NEED THE AIR BAG TO BE RECALLED,OR AN OFF/ON SWITHCH INSTALLED FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG!!!!!!!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 43 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT, WHO WAS THE FRONT PASSENGER, AND HIS WIFE, THE DRIVER, SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE POLICE AND THE PARAMEDICS WERE AT THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND LATER TOTALLED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE SPEED WAS NOT ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT AND THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

CAR TAKES SYNTHETIC OIL AND LOSING 2 QUARTS EVERY 3 MONTHS OR SO. NO LEAK ON DRIVEWAY AND NO SMOKE FROM EXHAUST...
TAKATA RECALL I WOULD LIKE MY CAR CHECKED AND REPAIRED FOR ALL TOYOTA RECALLS AS THE 3RD OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. THANK YOU! PEACE! *TR
MY DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR JUST FELL APART AND WAS HANGING TRIED TYING IT UP ,GLUED WITH NO SUCCESS. I FIND THIS TO BE A HAZARD SINCE I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING 70 MPH. HAVEN'T RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THIS OBVIOUS ISSUE.
MY TOYOTA CAMRY HAS A MELTING DASHBOARD THAT TOYOTA HAVE REPLACED FOR 3.4 MILLION CARS BUT THEY SAID WE WERE 14 DAYS OUT OF THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY PERIOD. WE NEVER HAD AN Y NOTICE FORM THEM. WE CALLED HEAD OFFICE WHO SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE OUR OWNER DETAILS SO COULD NOT SEND US ANY NOTICES. WE GAVE THEM OUR DETAILS BUT THEY SAID WE WERE STILL NOT ABLE TO GET THIS FIXED EVEN THOUGH WE WERE NEVER INFORMED.
AT FIRST MY SUN VISOR FELL OFF ONE EVENING WHEN I WAS TRYING TO BLOCK THE SUN FROM DISRUPTING MY VIEW. THEN AS TIME WENT BY, MY DASHBOARD STARTED MELTING AND BECOMING STICKY. LIKE A GOO. THERE IS DIRT AND OTHER DEBRIS STUCK TO IT. VERY GROSS AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN, WITH SO MUCH DIRT ON IT I FEEL IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD TO MY KIDS AND MYSELF. I TALKED TO TOYOTA A FEW DAYS AGO AND THEY FLAT OUT TOLD ME THAT THEY CANNOT AND WILL NOT FIX IT SINCE THE WARRANTY WAS OUT. THIS WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT I DID, BUT THE FAULT OF THE MANUFACTURER. THE GOO CAUSES A REFLECTION ON MY WINDSHIELD AND IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. THIS IS A DRIVING HAZARD, ESPECIALLY SINCE I DO NOT HAVE A SUN VISOR ON MY DRIVER SIDE SINCE IT HAS FALLEN OFF. I AM ASKING FOR TOYOTA TO DO THE RIGHT THING.
TAKATA RECALL. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED WHILE DRIVING IN THE CARPOOL LANE OF THE FREEWAY. THE COLLISION PROPELLED MY TOYOTA INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. MY CAR, PERSON AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED MULTIPLE INJURIES.
WHILE STOPPED IN A PRIVATE PARKING LOT IN STALL, BUT WHILE FOOT ON BRAKE YET & ENGINE RUNNING, VEHICLE ACCELERATED JUMPED A CURB CROSSED GRASS ISLAND & STRUCK A VEHICLE FACING MINE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY PRIOR TO ACCELERATING.
WHEN RUSUMING SPEED CONTROL TO SET SPEED, IT GOES 5 TO TEN MPH OVER BEFORE GOING TO SET SPEED.
MY 2010, 4 CYLINDER TOYOTA CAMRY IS USING EXTREME AMOUNTS OF OIL. IT HAS BEEN TESTED FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN 5/2016 AND I WAS TOLD IT QUALIFIED FOR TOYOTA'S REPAIR UNDER ENHANCED WARRANTY. CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2009. CALLED 1/18/17 THAT THEY HAD GOTTEN TO MY NAME ON THEIR VERY LONG LIST AND TO BRING IT IN. AFTER LOOKING AT THE CAR TO REPAIR IT, I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT AND IT DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE REPAIRS-EVEN THOUGH IT IS OBVIOUSLY HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I WAS TOLD TO CALL CORPORATE TOYOTA TO SEE IF IT COULD BE INCLUDED. THEY SAID NO AND THAT I NEED ANOTHER OILED CONSUMPTION TEST BECAUSE LAST ONE IS MORE THAN 6 MONTHS OLD. BASICALLY, JUST TOLD THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR OF THE EXTREME OIL CONSUMPTION (APPROX 1 QT/250 MILES). *TR
CAR SHAKING ON SPEED BETWEEN 40-55 MPH THIS ISSUE APPEARED PROBABLY 3 YEARS AGO MEAN 2016 TOYOTA DEALER RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION CAR WASN'T HIT 100.000 MILES WHEN I CHECKED THAT NOT NORMAL ASKING FOR ANY RECALL ABOUT TRANSMISSION THEY SAID NO PLEASE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY I HAVE 2 KIDS NOT TOO CRAZY WITH DRIVING
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting. There was glare that was obstructing the driver’s view. The contact had to pull over while driving. The vehicle was previously taken to the local dealer, where it was repaired under a dashboard warranty enhancement program. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OCCUPANT IN THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY THAT NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.

THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE VEHICLE COULD BE DRIVEN AFTER THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V017000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES. I AM TOLD THAT MY STRUTS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS THEY ARE LEAKING. I HAVE READ OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND IT SOUND LIKE DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT WERE INSTALLED AND MAY LEAD TO ACCIDENTS.
RECALL VISOR FAILED AFTER 2 YEARS INSTALLED. DEALER SAID IS NOT COVER WITH RECALL SECOND TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE AND SHIFTING IT INTO THE DRIVE POSITION, THE VEHICLE UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED TO UNKNOWN SPEEDS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO TWO TREES. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE GOING TO WORK, OTHER VEHICLE DID NOT STOP ON STOP SIGN AND MAKE LEFT AND HIT MY CAR IN FRONT, I WAS GOING STRAIGHT. DURING COLLISION AIR BAG NOT DEPLOY.
WE HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE NEW AND FOLLOWED THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE RELIGIOUSLY. THE CAR IS AT 76,000 MILES AND YESTERDAY I DISCOVERED THAT THE CAR HAD BURNED THROUGH 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL LESS THAN 3000 MILES FROM THE LAST OIL CHANGE. ADDITIONALLY THE SLAVE CYLINDER IS LEAKING AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 23000 MILES. PRIOR TO THE LAST 3000 MILES, THE CAR HAD NEVER BURNED THROUGH OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I FOUND THAT THE PREVIOUS GENERATION OF THIS ENGINE HAD PISTON ISSUES THAT TOYOTA EVENTUALLY STARTED FIXING FOR FREE (AFTER MULTIPLE CLASS ACTION SUITS). I TOOK IT IN TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY RECOMMENDED AN ENTIRE ENGINE OVERHAUL TO FIX THE PISTONS ($5000) OF WHICH THEY COVER NOTHING. IN ADDITION THEY CONFIRMED THE SLAVE CYLINDER WAS LEAKING AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE OVERHAULED A 2ND TIME ($2,600). UNFORTUNATELY I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN MANUAL, AND TOYOTA BARELY SOLD ANY OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS WHICH HAS RESULTED IN NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ANY MANUFACTURER DEFECTS. WHILE I UNDERSTAND THE TRANSMISSION IS POORLY DESIGNED BUT CONSIDERED A WEAR ITEM, I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE PISTONS ON A CAR WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE WOULD GIVE OUT AT 76,000 MILES.
THE DASH IS LIFTING IN THE SAME SUCH MANOR FROM OTHER RECALLS FROM OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAD THE RECALL AND I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE UNDER THAT RECALL AS FROM THE HEAT IT MAKE THE DASH START TO LIFT IN SPOTS
MY DRIVER SIDE AND PASSANGER VISOR DO NOT STAY UP THE DRIVER SIDE WOULDNT STAY UP AT ALL SO I HAVE HAD TO REMOVE IT FOR SAFETY REASONS AND THE DRIVER SIDE IS STARTING TO HANG THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FROM COMPLAINTS I SEE
I WAS STOPPED IN LINE OF A DRIVE THRU RESTAURANT. THE VEHICLES WERE NOT MOVING AND I WAS WAITING WITH MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE SURGED AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I PUSHED AS HARD AS POSSIBLE ON THE BREAK PEDAL BUT THE CAR DID NOT STOP UNTIL IT HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCV VALVE HOSE AND INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE HEAD LIGHTS ON HIGH BEAM HAVE GONE OUT WHILE DRIVING, LOW BEAM WORKS BUT VERY SCARY DRIVING AND LIGHTS JUST GO OUT. NOW ONLY LOW BEAM WORKS JUST WONDERING WHEN THEY MIGHT GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. DID SOME INVESTIGATING TO SEE HOW TO FIX AND NOTICED THAT I AM FAR FROM BEING ALONE ON THIS ONE. WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO STEP UP AND MAKE TOYOTA MAKE THIS RIGHT WITH OWNERS. SINCE THE ONLY FIX SEAMS TO BE REPLACING WHOLE HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY AT 2400.00 A PAIR !!! BECAUSE REPLACING BULB WILL JUST BLOW OUT AGAIN AND AGAIN . RAN MY VIN NUMBER NO CURRENT RECALL THIS IS A BUNCH OF BULL.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR (COMPARTMENT) WAS BROKEN AND FELL DOWN UNDER NORMAL USE. SINCE THE VISOR EDGE IS POINTING TO MY FOREHEAD DIRECTLY NOW AS I AM NOT ABLE TO PUT IT BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL POSITION, THIS IS GOING TO BE LIFE-THREATENING IN CASE OF A CAR CRASH OR ANYTHING LIKE THIS. CHECKED ON THE INTERNET, AND FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE TOO. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS IS NOT UNDER ANY OF TOYOTA'S EXTENDED WARRANTY OR RECALL PROGRAMS. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS IS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY TOYOTA. I WOULD REQUEST THAT PROPER ACTIONS BE TAKEN BEFORE THE ISSUE MANIFESTS ITSELF IN A HAZARDOUS SITUATION.
DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR SEPARATED AND NOW IS BLOCKING VISION, WON'T STAY UP OR DOWN. IN FACT I NOW HIT MY HEAD WHEN LOOKING TO CHANGE LANES.
HIGH CONSUMPTION OF ENGINE OIL, DO NOT LUBRICATE THE ENGINE, ROTATE THE PINION OF THE VVT -I. AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, ADD 3 TO 5 ADDITIONAL ROOMS BEFORE THE NEXT OIL CHANGE. PROBLEM WITH 2009 AND 2010 MODELS
WHEN I WENT TO SERVICE MY TOYOTA CAMRY, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY STRUCTS HAVE TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY ARE LEAKING. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, STRUCTS ARE DESIGNED TO WORK FOR MORE THAN 7-8 YEARS. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT MY CAR WHICH IS JUST 5 YRS OLD WITH LESS THAN 60K MILES WOULD REQUIRE SUCH AN IMPORTANT VEHICLE COMPONENT TO BE REPLACED. WHEN I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE FOR CAMRY 2007 OR LATER MODELS. THIS DOES SOUND LIKE A DEFECTIVE PART INSTALLED BY TOYOTA. I WILL REALLY APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD TAKE SOME ACTION TO INVESTIGATE ABOUT THE STRUCTS BEING USED BY TOYOTA FOR CAMRY MODELS.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND GOING TO ADJUST MY VISOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR CAME APART AND STARTED TO HANG AND FALLING IN MY VISION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS AND PAYING ATTENTION IN TRAFFIC.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST STEERING WITH NO ABILITY FOR THE DRIVER TO CONTROL DIRECTION OF THE CAR. CAR DEPARTED FROM ITS LANE AND THEN CROSSED TWO LANES INVOLUNTARILY BUT LANES WERE FREE OF TRAFFIC SO AN ACCIDENT WAS AVOIDED. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAR SHOOK AND VIBRATED. THE DRIVER IMMEDIATELY BRAKED AND THE BRAKES DID REDUCE THE SPEED OF THE CAR. THE ABILITY TO STEER WAS RECOVERED AFTER APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE STATION. A REVIEW OF THE COMPUTER DATA (TROUBLE CODES) INDICATED A FAILURE OF THE ABS ACTUATOR AND STEERING ANGLE SENSOR. MAURICE AT THE TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER AID THE TOYOTA COMPANY WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAILURE AND HE ALSO SAID THAT, "NO ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GIVEN" AS THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY.WE HAVE A CASE NUMBER FILED WITH TOYOTA. TOYOTA SAYS THIS HAZARDOUS AND TERRIFYING INCIDENT IS NOT THE RESULT OF A DESIGN FLAW OR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. WE HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE SAFETY OF THIS TOYOTA VEHICLE.
WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH, ENGINE SUDDENLY WENT TO IDLE WHILE PETAL WAS STILL DEPRESSED. LET OFF THE PEDAL AND PUSHED IT DOWN AGAIN AND IT STARTED TO WORK AGAIN.
BOTH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE LOCK CONTROLS FAIL TO LOCK AND UNLOCK BOTH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOORS. OCCASIONALLY, DEPENDING ON THE TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK. IT IS A SIMILAR PROBLEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE WINDOW/ LOCK CONTROL RECALL FOR 2007 AND 2009 TOYOTA CAMRYS. IT ALMOST SEEMS AS THOUGH THERE IS A FAULTY WIRE CONNECTION. THIS OCCURS AT ALL TIMES, NO MATTER WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR NOT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF A SECOND VEHICLE. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN BUT DID NOT RESPOND NORMALLY. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,350.

ON OR ABOUT THE ABOVE DATE OF APRIL 15, 2015 I WASHED MY 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY AT A LOCAL CAR WASH USING THEIR AUTOMATED HIGH PRESSURE WASH AND WAX. A FEW DAYS AFTERWARD I REALIZED THE CENTER TRUNK AREA, THAT HOLDS THE SPARE TIRE, HELD 2 TO 3 INCHES OF WATER, AND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUNK ALSO HAD WATER. I HAVE READ POST AFTER POST ONLINE STATING MANY OTHER TOYOTA OWNERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, AND SOME HAVE STATED THE REAR WINDOW AND BODY PANELS WERE NOT SECURELY SEALED FROM THE OUTSIDE ELEMENTS WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED AT THE FACTORY. IN JUNE OF 2014 WATER WAS GETTING INSIDE ON THE CARPET ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SOAKING THE CARPET COMPLETELY. THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSATION DRAINAGE TUBE HAD PLUGGED UP UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE THAT CAUSED THE INTERIOR BY THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE TO BE SOAKED IN WATER. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS EVER INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE ODOMETER JUST RECENTLY TURNED OVER 45,145 MILES. NOW, THERE IS ALREADY AN INDICATION OF MOLD, AND MOLD CAN BE DEADLY. *TR
I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY WHEN THE PROBLEMS WITH UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION BEGAN WITH THIS CAR, BUT THEY ARE FAIRLY RECENT. ALL OCCURRED WHEN THE CAR WAS STOPPED OR MOVING VERY SLOWLY. I DO NOT HAVE VERY GOOD RECOLLECTIONS OF THE EARLIEST OF THESE OCCURRENCES, BUT I CAN REMEMBER THE LAST THREE CLEARLY. THE FIRST OF THESE WAS IN MARCH 2015. I WAS DRIVING IN AN AREA WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 35 MPH AND HAD STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. I REMEMBER CLEARLY THAT I HAD MY FOOT SOLIDLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL; I HAD BEEN MAKING A SPECIAL POINT OF THAT AS A RESULT OF THE EARLIER OCCURRENCES. I FELT THE ENGINE SPEED UP, BUT THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. THE SECOND OCCASION WAS ON MARCH 29TH WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND HAD STOPPED AT A FOUR-WAY STOP. I WAS WAITING FOR A PEDESTRIAN (WALKING A DOG) WHO WAS CROSSING THE ROAD ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE FROM WHERE I WAS STOPPED. I DO NOT HAVE A FIRM RECOLLECTION OF EXACTLY WHERE MY RIGHT FOOT WAS POSITIONED, BUT IT CERTAINLY WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED, HEADING TOWARD THE PEDESTRIAN. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID HITTING HER BY MAKING A SHARP RIGHT TURN INTO THE CROSS STREET AND THEN BRINGING THE CAR TO A STOP. THE THIRD OCCASION WAS ON APRIL 5TH. IN ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE CAR IN A LOT NEAR A GROCERY STORE, I TURNED THE CAR INTO AN EMPTY PARKING SPACE. I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL GENTLY TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP AT THE CURB ON A MEDIAN STRIP THAT SEPARATED MY PARKING AREA FROM A SIMILAR ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MEDIAN. THE CAR WAS JUST A FEW FEET FROM WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE STOPPED WHEN IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, JUMPED OVER THE CURB, AND CROSSED THE MEDIAN, STRIKING AN UNOCCUPIED CAR PARKED ON THE OTHER SIDE. I WAS ABLE TO STOP MY CAR ONLY AFTER THE CRASH CAUSED SOME MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPERS OF BOTH CARS. *TR
I HAVE BEEN OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR LAST 5 YRS. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SPEED EVERY TIME I GO TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE DOWN HILL SPEED. EVEN IF YOU PUT THE CRUISE CONTROL ON 45MIL/HR STILL CAR GETS SPEED UP TO 90 TO 100 MILES.ON FLAT ROAD CAR DOESN'T SLOW DOWN EVEN YOU DO NOT PUSH GAS PADDLE. THE DEALER SAID IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DOWN THE HILL EVEN IF YOU USE CRUISE CONTROL. I WILL TAKE SOME BODY WITH ME AND VIDEO RECORDING AND POST ON LINE. I HAVE BEEN THIS PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I HAVE CONTACTED TOYOTA FOR THIS BUT NO RESULT. MY WIFE SCARE TO DRIVE THIS CAR. PLEASE ADVISE ME HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE OR HOW TO SEEK LEGAL ADVISE. I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING BACK FROM YOU. *JS

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT DID NOT SPECIFY IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSORS WERE NOT SET PROPERLY ON THAT YEAR MODEL VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. ENGINE IS CONSUMING TO QUICKLY THE OIL
WHILE DRIVING WITH SUN SHINING INTO MY EYES, I PULLED DOWN THE SUN VISOR BUT IT BROKE AND FAILED TO STAY IN POSITION ANY MORE. THE SUN VISOR JUST HANG DOWNWARD TO BLOCK MY VISION AND I HAD TO USE ONE HAND TO HOLD IT UP WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN WITH THE BROKEN SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE. DRIVER HAVE TO HOLD THE SUN VISOR WITH ONE HAND AND LEAVE ONE HAND TO DRIVE. THIS IMPACT THE SAFETY IN DRIVING. *TR

Sticky Dash and peeling paint for tainted paint color 040/ that of which my car was painted with 040 Super White - I have documentation proving the pain code at time of purchase. Toyota over the telephone says it goes by the VIN number - but Toyota’s website states completely the total opposite - it states any vehicle painted with paint color 040 from 2008 -2017 model is eligible for a paint re- do?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. A TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT STRUTS ON THE VEHICLE WERE LEAKING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STRUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,221.
ON DEC 18TH I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN AND AS I PROCEEDED TO TURN LEFT ON TO ANOTHER RD THERE WAS A CAR THAT HAD GOT UP TO THE HIGH SPEEDS OF 75OR 80 AND I HAD MY LEFT TURN. SIGNAL ON AND AS I WAS TURNING AND HE RAN IN TO MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND INJURED MY LEFT SHOULDER AND MY NECK BUT MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I'M NOW HAVING TO HAVE SURGERY I HOPE THEY CAN GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR WRECK AND AGAIN THANKS
2010 CAMRY - BOUGHT NEW. TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ALL SCHEDULED OIL CHANGES & SERVICE. REPLACED NEW MICHELIN TIRES (RATED 60,000 MILES) AT 32,000 MILES THAT WORE OUT UNEVENLY. WE NOTED THAT OUR VANS WHICH HAVE MORE ROLL THAN A CAR AND ARE MORE HEAVILY LOADED, USUALLY GO AT LEAST 55,000 AND THAT THEY WEAR MORE EVENLY. SINCE THE DEALERSHIP WAS CHECKING EVERYTHING, IT DID NOT OCCUR TO US THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE STRUTS SINCE THE CAR WAS SO NEW AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEVER ALERTED US.SUDDENLY, AT 50,000 MILE CHECK UP, WE WERE INFORMED ALL 4 STRUTS ARE AT #2 AND MUST BE REPLACED. THIS IS A LIGHTLY DRIVEN CAR. ( 2 DRIVERS AND 3 VEHICLES.) THESE ARE MAINLY HIGHWAY MILES IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND WE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLES. WE NEVER LOAD IT AND RARELY HAVE MORE THAN 1 PERSON IN THE CAR. WE HAVE NEVER EVEN NEEDED A BRAKE JOB AND HAVE 70% LEFT ON OUR BRAKE PADS. AFTER LOOKING ON LINE I NOTICED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY CAMRYS AFTER 2007. I CONTACTED TOYOTA ABOUT THIS AND AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION, THEY OFFERED $750 DISCOUNT IF WE HAVE IT SERVICED AT A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. .DEALERSHIP ESTIMATES RANGE AROUND $1800 +. I CONTEND THAT SINCE TOYOTA DOES NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING BE DONE WITH LEAKING STRUTS UNTIL THEY ARE TOTALLY SHOT, THEY DID NOT TELL US THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. TIRES PREMATURELY WEARING AND WHY WOULD ALL 4 STRUTS SUDDENLY FAIL IF THESE WERE NOT DEFECTIVE? WHY WOULD TOYOTA SAY STRUTS THAT LEAK AT ALL ARE NORMAL? SINCE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, TOYOTA NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. THIS IS NOT STANDARD MAINTENANCE - IT IS A DEFECT. SINCE TOYOTA IS ARBITRARILY DECIDING, WE WOULD APPRECIATE A CONSUMER ADVOCATE TO ASSIST US. WE ARE FINE WITH NORMAL MAINTENANCE COSTS AND IF IT WERE OLDER OR WITH MORE MILEAGE, WE WOULD NOT BE SO UPSET ABOUT THIS MAJOR PART FAILURE. *TR
