DRIVING ALONG HIGHWAY AND PLACE SUN VISOR IN DIRECTION OF THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW TO BLOCK SUN ON LEFT SIDE OF VEHICLE AND THE SUN VISOR POPS OUT OF PLACE AND WILL NOT STAY IN THE CORRECT POSITION. CURRENTLY THE VISOR IS EITHER ALWAYS DOWN BLOCKING THE UPPER PORTION OF VIEW OR POINTING DIRECTLY IN FACE IF ATTEMPTING TO BLOCK SUN ON DRIVERS LEFT SIDE OF VEHICLE. THE FAILURE IS ONGOING, AND WILL NOT BE CORRECTED UNLESS A NEW VISOR IS SUPPLIED. CONSEQUENCES OF THIS FAILURE INCLUDE: BLOCKED VISION WITH THE INABILITY TO SEE UPPER PORTION OF WINDSHIELD, FAILURE TO SEE TRAFFIC SIGNALS, AND THE POTENTIAL FOR SUN TO SHINE BRIGHTLY IN EYES CAUSING VISION IMPAIRMENT. *KB
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON JULY 28 2011. I WAS IN A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY DRIVING 40-45MILES AND A FORD F150 PICK-UP TRUCK TURNED IN FRONT OF ME. I HIT THE TRUCK ON ITS SIDE CAUSING IT TO FILP OVER. MY CAMRY SUSTAINED SEVERE FRONTAL DAMAGE THAT IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. POLICE OFFICERS, FIRE DEPT AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT WERE ALL AMAZED THAT THE AIRBAGS HAD NOT DEPLOYED CONSIDERING THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR. THE BODY SHOP THAT THE CAR WAS INITIALLY TOWED TO MENTIONED THAT LOOKED LIKE THERE WERE FAULTY SENSORS THAT PREVENTED THE AIRBAGS FROM DEPLOYING. *TT
I HAVE A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY AND MY DRIVER VISOR, TOTALLY CAME OFF AND WAS JUST HANGING. I NEVER GENERALLY EVEN USE THE VISOR AND THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED MY $150.00. MY HUSBAND DRIVES HIS 3RD FORD AND HAS NEVER HAD ANY OF THIS HAPPEN. I BOUGHT A TOYOTA FOR A REASON AND SO FAR ALL I HAVE IS ISSUES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE WORE OUT AT A LOW MILEAGE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A SQUEAKING SOUND COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BRAKE PAD SUFFERED FROM CORROSION DUE TO HEAVY SALT USE ON THE ROADS. THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE ALL REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE PAD. THE BRAKE PAD ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WAS THEN REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,130. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY SISTER OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE, BOUGHT AS A NEW CAR, NOT USED. ON SATURDAY, JULY 16, 2011, SHE WAS RIDING AS A PASSENGER IN HER CAR WHEN IT WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD TO BE CUT OUT OF THE CAR, NEITHER HER SIDE AIRBAGS OR FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE ER AT THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE SHE HAD SUFFERED INJURIES AND WAS IN PAIN. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE IS A TOTAL LOSS, HOWEVER, NONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE CAR DEPLOYED. *KB
MY CAR JERKS AT LOW SPEEDS DURING STOP AND GO TRAFFIC DURING MY DAILY COMMUTE FROM WORK. THE MOVEMENT IS VERY NOTICEABLE AND YOU CAN FEEL THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR (2010) WITH 25, 584 MILES BUT IT DRIVES VERY ROUGH AS IF ITS AN OLDER CAR. TRANSITION FROM LOW SPEEDS IS NOT SMOOTH AT ALL. TYPICALLY, THIS SURGE OCCURS ONLY BETWEEN THE SPEED RANGE OF 0-45/50 MPH. RPM GAUGE DRASTICALLY JUMPS OR INCREASES, THEN FALLS BACK DOWN MOMENTARILY. AND IT ONLY OCCURS WHEN DRIVING IN CITY OR STOP AND GO TRAFFIC BEFORE COMING TO A STOP BUT WHILE DRIVING ON SPEED LIMIT ON HIGHWAY IT IS FINE. THE CAR SHIFT/JUMPS SPORADICALLY CAUSING VEHICLE TO JUMP FORWARD A LITTLE BIT AND CAUSING DELAY BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT, I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE ALREADY AND THEY KEEP INSISTING THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN ON TWO SEPARATE TEST DRIVES WITH DIFFERENT TECHNICIANS WHO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RECREATE THE EVENT. BUT OBVIOUSLY IT IS NOT SOMETHING I CAN RECREATE WHILE IN THE PASSENGERS SEAT. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE TECH HAS TO BE ABLE TO FEEL THE HARSH SHIFTING TRANSITION HIM/HER SELF. A SHIFTING RE-CALIBRATION HAS BEEN PERFORMED ONCE ON THE CAR BUT THE JERKING HAS CONTINUED TO OCCUR FOLLOWING THE TEST. THIS IS THE FIRST BRAND NEW CAR THAT I HAVE BOUGHT AND I COMPLETELY FRUSTRATED WITH THE DEALER AND TOYOTA. THE REASON I BOUGHT A TOYOTA IS BECAUSE I WANTED A RELIABLE AND SMOOTH CAR TO DRIVE TO WORK EVERYDAY AND I DID NOT EXPECT TO BE HAVING THESE KINDS OF ISSUES WITH A BRAND NEW CAR. I HAVE BEEN INSULTED BY THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT AND THEIR LIST OF CAUSE FACTORS RANGING FROM POSSIBLY BECAUSE I DRIVE IN HEELS, TO HAVING A/C TURNED ON, TO THE CAR ONLY PROVIDING MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE. IT IS ALL A BUNCH OF EXCUSES, I WISH THEY WOULD ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I WILL CONTINUE TO GO IN AND BE A NUISANCE UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED. *TR
DASH TURNED STICKY UPON CLEANING AND WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED INTO THE SUN THERE IS A DANGEROUS GLARE REFLECTED ON THE WIND SHIELD. IT GETS DIFFICULT TO SEE TRAFFIC IN FRONT SO I WOULD CONSIDER IT A HAZARD I FEEL TOYOTA IS RESPONSIBLE AND SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. *JS
TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL IT CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL VIA HELICOPTER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INSURANCE LOT. VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER ON 3/8/10. ON 5/21/11, AT ROUTINE SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP WHERE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW, TIRES SHOWED ABNORMAL WEAR AT 14,836, 14 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE OF VEHICLE. ON 7/7/12, AT ROUTINE SERVICE, TIRES SHOWED SUBSTANTIAL WEAR AT 26,533. ON 9/8/12, PURCHASED NEW GOODYEAR TIRES AT DEALERSHIP AT 29,437 MILES. ON 11/19/12, AT ROUTINE SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP, TIRES SHOWED SLIGHT WEAR ON OUTSIDE AT 32,017. ON 12/16/13, AT ROUTINE SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP, TIRES SHOWED ABNORMAL WEAR AND CUPPING ON INSIDE AT 42,632 MILES, RECOMMENDED ALIGNMENT. ALIGNMENT COMPLETED ON 12/26/13 AT 42,990 MILES BY ANOTHER TIRE SHOP. ON 5/22/14, AT ROUTINE SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP, TIRES SHOWED ABNORMAL WEAR AT 48,081. ON 11/24/14, AT ROUTINE SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP, RECOMMENDED ALIGNMENT AND TIRES AT 52,848 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 10 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE COMPUTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPROGRAMMED BUT THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE A PROGRAM FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT WOULD ROLL AWAY ABNORMALLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
FRONT WHEEL DRIVER SIDE WAS MAKING NOISE EVERY TIME I DRIVE OVER THE BUMPS OR UNEVEN ROAD,WENT TO TOYOTA DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT'S NORMAL JUST KEEP DRIVING ,DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO ME AND NOW I HAVE 47000 MILES ON MY CAR AND THAT STRUT IS LEAKING PRETTY BAD,TO FIX IT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 800 $.I FEEL CHEATED NOW. *TR

1. THE CAR HAD A FAILURE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM ACCORDING TO: THE REPAIR SHOP, THE INSURANCE ADJUSTOR AND TOYOTA INDEPENDENT INSPECTION. BASICALLY A BOLT THAT SECURES THE HOSE TO THE CALIPER WAS LOOSE WHICH CAUSED THE OIL TO LEAK AND THE BRAKES TO FAIL. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THERE WAS NO NEGLIGENCE OF MAINTAINING THE CAR SINCE THE CAR IS NEW - ONLY ABOUT 4,000 MILES -AND SERVICED ONLY AT THE DEALER ACCORDING TO SERVICE SCHEDULE.
I OWNED 2010 CAMRY LE AND WHEN IT REACHED APPROX. 30,000 MILES WARRANTY THE FRONT BRAKE STARTED VIBRATING AND I FELT L LIKE THE WHEEL WAS GOING TO COME OFF WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES FROM HIGH SPEED AND GOING DOWNHILL. I'M NOT A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC BUT I KNEW IT WAS A WARP BRAKE ROTOR. I HAD THE ROTOR TURNED AND THAT'S ALL IT TAKES.I THINK IT IS VERY PREMATURE FOR A BRAKE ROTOR TO FAIL AT 30,000 MILES AND MOST ESPECIALLY FOR A CAMRY. I WAS BIT SURPRISE WHEN THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY BRAKE WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO MY MILEAGE. ALL ALONG I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS 36MOS/36000 MILES BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY BUT I WAS WRONG, SO NO MORE TOYOTA NEXT TIME AND NOT RECOMMENDING TOYOTA TO FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS. *TR
ON FRIDAY, 25 MARCH, 2011 AT ABOUT 4 PM, MY WIFE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN DECELERATION EVENT ON OUR 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. SHE MADE A RIGHT TURN & IN ABOUT A HALF MILE, THE CAMRY SUDDENLY SLOWED TO LESS THAN 10 MPH FROM ABOUT 40 MPH. SHE PULLED INTO THE FIRST PARKING LOT TO THE RIGHT AND SHUT OFF THE CAMRY. SHE SAID NO MATTER HOW MUCH SHE PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR WAS NOT RESPONDING TO THE ACCELERATOR. SHE SAID THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS WERE ON. SHE TRIED RESTARTING THE CAR AND DROVE A LITTLE IN THE PARKING LOT, THE 2 DASH LIGHTS WERE ON, BUT IT WAS DRIVING OK. SHE DROVE THE CAR SLOWLY APPROXIMATELY 5 MORE MILES TO OUR HOME. I ARRIVED SOON & I CHECKED THE CODES WITH MY DIAGNOSTIC TOOL, AND THE ECU WAS SHOWING AN ACTIVE P0121 (THROTTLE/PEDAL POSITION SENSOR A, CIRCUIT RANGE PERFORMANCE). SO WE DROVE THE CAR SLOWLY TO ATLANTA TOYOTA, 2345 PLEASANT HILL ROAD, DULUTH, GA 30096. DURING THE DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE DASH LIGHTS WENT OFF. I REPORTED THE CODE P0121 TO THE SERVICE REP, AND THE DRIVING SYMPTOMS. THE NEXT DAY (SATURDAY, 26 MARCH 2011) ATLANTA TOYOTA CALLED ME REPORTING THAT THERE WERE NO CODES IN THE ECU. I REPEATED THE CODE THAT I HAD READ. THE REP STATED THEY WOULD CHECK AGAIN. AGAIN ATLANTA TOYOTA CALLED ME, STATING NO CODES FOUND, AND THEY HAD TEST DRIVEN THE CAR AND COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY DID REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY. ON THE DRIVE HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP I NOTICED THAT THE CLOCK TIME HAD CHANGED ABOUT 30 MINUTES, AND ALL THE RADIO PRESETS WERE GONE, AS IF THE BATTERY HAD BEEN DISCONNECTED.I INQUIRED AND THE DEALERSHIP REP SAID THE BATTERY HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED.MY CONCERN IS THIS TOYOTA MAY HAVE REPROGRAMMED MY CAR DUE TO THE SUDDEN DECELERATION ISSUE, (HENCE THE CLOCK & RADIO CHANGES), AND THEY ARE NOT BEING FORTHCOMING REGARDING REPAIRS. ALL THEY WILL SAY IS, THERE WERE NO CODES.
POWER STEERING BELT BROKE AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND BEGINNING TO PICK UP SPEED. CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME (4 MILES) WITH LIMITED STEERING CONTROL. NEXT DAY, HAD CAR TOWED IN TO TOYOTA DEALER.
2010 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. CONSUMER STATES ODOMETER MALFUNCTION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THE ODOMETER READ 15,562 MILES AND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED IT READ 19,296 MILES.
IN FEB 2011 MY 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY HAD A HEAD-ON COLLISION WITH A TRUCK CAMRY SPEED AT TIME OF ACCIDENT: 30MPH TRUCK SPEED AT TIME OF ACCIDENT: 10 ' 20MPHS COMBINED SPEED OF BOTH VEHICLES AT TIME OF HEAD-ON ACCIDENT: LEAST 40MPHS..CAMRY SUSTAINED AN EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND COST OF REPAIR 7-8K HAVE PICTURES AND POLICE REPORT.COMPLAINT: NO AIRBAG IN THE CAMRY WAS DEPLOYED (FRONT, SIDE) NOR INDICATOR LIGHT COME OF THE AIRBAG LIT UP...IT SEEMS THAT AIRBAG NEVER SENSED THE ACCIDENT CALLED TOYOTA AND REPORTED, THEY TOLD ME CAR DID AS WAS DESIGNED..SO AIRBAG SHOULD NOT BEEN DEPLOYED, ALSO AIRBAG INDICATOR SHOULD NOT LIGHT UP. INITIAL WHEN I TURN THE START ENGINE FOR 5 SEC I SEE THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT ON & THEN WILL TURN IT OFF NORMALLY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK, WITH THE BRAKES PRESSED, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO HIT A TREE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REFUSED TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED WHO TOOK A COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING AN INVESTIGATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED NOT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED UNTIL THE INVESTIGATION WAS COMPLETE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 6,000. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED.

SUN VISORS BOTH QUITE HOLDING POSITION DRIVER'S SIDE FIRST THEN THE PASSENGER SIDE A WEEK LATER HAD TO REMOVE DRIVES SIDE IT BROKE OFF OF PIVOT PIN AND WAS HANGING DOWN BLOCKING VISIBILITY . I PURCHASED A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY 8/2010 VEHICLE WAS IN APREVIOUS ACCIDENT NOT REVEALED TO ME DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A CLEAN CAR HISTORY REPORT. MOTOR BLEW IN CAR CARRIED CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. SERVICE MGR SHOWED ME SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. FRONT FRAME SUPPORT NOT WELDED TO MAIN FRAME. NOTIFIED TOYOTA MOTORS USA AND SOUTHEAST TOYOTA OF THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOW NOTIFYING NHTSB OF THIS SERIOUS ISSUE. I HAVE NOTIFIED GOVERNOR OFFICE OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS IN CALIFORNIA, FLORIDA, GEORGIA. NO ONE WILL ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THEY ARE THEIR TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER. NO ONE HAS BEEN WILLING TO HELP.. THEY HAVE VIOLATED THE DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICE AND DEFICIENY IN SERVICES. I HAVE PICTURES FROM DEALERSHIP. *TR

THE CAMRY WENT FRONT FIRST INTO THE DITCH WALL SMASHING IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR. 3. THE VEHICLE I AM TOLD WAS FOUND TO BE "TOTALED". THEIR WAS A CREASE FROM THE INITIAL IMPACT FROM THE FRONT DRIVERS WHEEL WELL EXTENDING BACK TO THE PASSENGERS DOOR. THE FRONT BUMPER/LIGHTS WERE ALSO DESTROYED. HOWEVER, SUPPOSEDLY, THE TSBS SUGGESTED THAT A MOLDY MILDEW SMELL MAY DEVELOP FROM THE HVAC COMPONENTS. THE CARPET WAS NOT PULLED BACK AND INSPECTED UNTIL A FORMAL COMPLAINT WAS MADE WITH TOYOTA NATIONAL. MOLD WAS PRESENT AND PHOTOGRAPHED. ADDITIONALLY, OTHER AREAS OF THE CAR WERE SUBJECT TO OTHER FORMS OF WATER LEAKS AND SEPARATE MOLD FORMED THERE ALSO. CONSUMER SUGGESTION OF A MOISTURE SENSOR IN THE LOW POINTS OF THE BODY TO NOTIFY THE OWNER OF AN ISSUE VIA A WARNING LIGHT.
