DURING A SHORT TRIP THE SRS LIGHT CAME ON. I DON'T RECALL EXACTLY WHEN THE LIGHT APPEARED, WHILE SITTING STILL OR WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD AFTER BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. SINCE THE INCIDENT I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO TOYOTA 3 TIMES. EVERY TIME I AM TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE LAST TIME THE DEALER HAD IT FOR A TOTAL OF 25 DAYS. THE RESPONSE IS THAT WHILE NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR PASSENGERS SHOULD FIRST SIT IN THE CAR AND BUCKLE THE SEAT BELT BEFORE THE KEY IS INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION. I HAVE CONTACT THE TOYOTA EXPERIENCE CENTER AND WHILE THEY FIRST AGREED THAT THIS IS NOT NORMAL THEY CONTACTED THE TOYOTA FIELD TECHNICIAN AND I WAS TOLD THAT MOVEMENT OF A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT CAN CAUSE THE (MALFUNCTION) SRS LIGHT TO COME ON WHICH DISABLES THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. I HAVE ASKED WHY THIS HAS NEVER OCCURRED DURING THE FIRST 3-1/2 YEARS OF OWNING THE CAR AND DON'T GET ANY ANSWER. THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION AS THE SRS LIGHT CAN COME ON WHILE ON AN EXTENDED TRIP AND IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT THE AIRBAGS WON'T DEPLOY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE TRUNK WAS DEFECTIVE SINCE IT WOULD UNLOCKED INDEPENDENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
A KNOCK OR RATTLE NOISE, COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT, IS HEARD DURING A COLD STARTUP, SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL ENGINE. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR EVERY OIL CHANGE WHEN IT IS DUE, AND NO DIFFERENT. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT. *TR
I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CAMRY BOUNCING, SWAYING, PULLING LEFT AND RIGHT, THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION OR AXLES SHAKE. IT FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE PULSING OR ON AT RANDOM TIMES. I BELIEVE THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND TOYOTA IS NOT REPORTING THE PROBLEMS. I ALSO BELIEVE THE MECHANICS ARE FALSIFYING DOCUMENTS WHICH ARE AFFECTING MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. BRAKE ISSUES ARE LIFE THREATING AND TOYOTA ASSURED ME MY CAR IS SAFE. I HAVE BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES TO HAVE THE ISSUES FIXED BUT THE DEALER FIRST BLAMED THE TIRES AND BALANCING. I REPLACED THE TIRES AND THE DEALER BLAMED THE LOUD SNOW TIRES. THE DEALER MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A SERVICE SPECIALIST. THEY BLAMED IT ON TIRE NOISES AND SAID THE SEE YOU IN THE SPRING WHEN YOU CHANGE THE TIRES AND THEY SPECIALIST SAID YOU ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTEE. I CHANGED THE TIRES TWO DAYS LATER AND RETURNED ON MONDAY. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE CAR AND SAID NOTHING BUT THEY WILL BE TALKING THE TOYOTA SPECIALIST. I HEARD NOTHING FOR A WEEK AND I HAD TO CALL THEM ON AGAIN ON MONDAY (TODAY). THE SERVICE MANAGERS SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I JUST RECEIVED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT MAILING OVER THE WEEKEND. I KNEW THE DEALER AND TOYOTA WERE HIDING SOMETHING. I ALSO TOOK THE CAR TO A SECOND TOYOTA DEALER AS THE SPECIALIST RECOMMEND. THE SECOND DEALER ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUES BEFORE I GOT THERE. THE SERVICE MANAGER DROVE MY CAR, NOT A MECHANIC TEST, AND ALSO BLAMED THE SNOW TIRES. THE SPECIALIST WAS ALSO ASKING WHAT TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS ARE CLOSER TO HOME FOR ME. I ALSO CALLED TOYOTA AND OPENED TWO CASES. I ASKED FOR TRANSCRIPTS OF THE CLASSES AND OTHER INFORMATION, THEY SAID THAT WAS FOR IN-HOUSE USE ONLY AND I COULD NOT HAVE THE INFO. *TR
DASH-BOARD IS LIKE LIQUID WAX. I HAD A PIECE OF PAPER ON DASHBOARD WENT TO PICK UP AND MY FINGERNAIL TOOK A CHUNK OUT OF THE DASHBOARD. I TRIED TO VACUUM THE DUST ON IT BUT NOTHING PICKED UP, BECAUSE DUST WAS STUCK FAST AND VACUUM WAS LEAVING PERMANENT LINES ON THE DASH. EXTREMELY STICKY TO THE TOUCH AND LOOKS TERRIBLE WITH ALL THE DIRT STUCK FAST. *TR
THE BRAKE ROTORS WARPED AT 23000 MILES CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE ROTORS WERE NOT COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AND I PAID TO HAVE THEM RESURFACED. 8000 MILES LATER THE ROTORS WARPED AGAIN WITH THE RESULTING SEVERE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING. THIS COULD RESULT IN THE LOSS OF CONTROL AND ACCIDENTS.CHECKING ON THE INTERNET I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH TOYOTA PRODUCTS AND I BELIEVE THE ROTORS ARE SUBSTANDARD AND A SAFETY HAZARD. TOYOTA SHOULD RECALL ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES AND REPLACE THE ROTORS WITH QUALITY ONES AND UPGRADE THE ROTORS IN ALL CARS BUILT FROM THIS TIME ON. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN UNRELATED ISSUE WHEN THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE STRUTS AND SHOCKS WERE LEAKING OIL EXCESSIVELY AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. SINCE THE PAST 60 DAYS THERE HAS BEEN A POPPING, CREAKING AND METAL FLEXING NOISE EMANATING FROM THE ROOF PANEL ESPECIALLY PRONOUNCED WHEN CROSSING OVER ANY UNEVEN PAVEMENT SURFACE, THE NOISE BEGAN AT 40,000 MILES, 4000 MILES AFTER THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY EXPIRED, MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS AN INHERENT PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL TOYOTA MODELS ESPECIALLY THE CAMRY AND HAS BEEN EVIDENT SINCE MODEL YEAR 2007 WITH SUN/MOON ROOF INSTALLATIONS, ON CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IS ALMOST ALWAYS RELATED TO THE SUNROOF FRAME/GUIDE RAILS/INSULATION AND HAVE REPAIRED IT ON IT NUMEROUS OCCASIONS ALL BEING UNDER WARRANTY SINCE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED ON MY VEHICLE I WAS DIRECTED TO CONTACT TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE, ON CONTACTING TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE I WAS REFUSED ANY ASSISTANCE AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE PROBLEM, PER MY RESEARCH THE PROBLEM HAS ESCALATED IN SOME CASES TO THE SUNROOF SHATTERING CAUSING A MAJOR DRIVING AND HEALTH HAZARD AND POSSIBLE SEVERE INJURIES FROM COLLISIONS AND/OR CUTS FROM SHATTERING GLASS. TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN AND ASSEMBLY OF VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH SUN/MOON ROOF AND REFUSE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM BY CLAIMING EXPIRATION OF WARRANTY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED TO 2500 AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO BE STOPPED ONCE THE CONTACT CONTINUOUSLY APPLIED EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ACCELERATION, WHICH HE STATED WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,900.
THE SUN VISOR FELL DOWN BLOCKING VISION. COULD NOT BE FORCED HOLD ORIGINAL POSITION. FINALLY REMOVED VISOR WHILE DRIVING FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. *TR
I HAVE A STICKY DASHBOARD. BESIDES PUTTING A VERY SHINY REFLECTION ON MY WINDSHIELD, IT HAS BECOME VERY WEAK TO THE POINT THAT EVEN A TAP WITH MY FINGERNAIL REMOVES PIECES OFF. IT IS VERY CONCERNING. WHEN I QUESTIONED TOYOTA YEARS AGO THEY WERE WILLING TO CHANGE IT AT NO LABOR COST BUT I WOULD HAVE TO BUY THE PIECE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND CRASHED AGAINST A WALL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BRUISDED KNEE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
OUTSIDE LEFT REAR BRAKE PAD WORN OUT. ALL OTHER PADS FRONT AND REAR STILL HAD 65% OF LIFE LEFT IN THEM. DEALER SAID THAT THEY REPLACE A BRACKET FOR THE CALIPER BUT WOULD COST ME. *TR
MY DASH BOARD BECAME STICKY AND SHINY CAUSING A GLARE ON THE DASHBOARD. HARD TO SEE DURING SUNNY DAY. STICKY PROBLEM HAPPEN ABOUT 2 YEARS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM CAR MAX.
THE DASHBOARD IS SHINY AND STICKY. SOMETIME THERE IS GLARE DURING THE DAY TIME. EXTREMELY HARD TO CLEAN OR KEEP CLEAN. CANNOT SET ANYTHING ON IT WITHOUT IT STICKING TO THE DASHBOARD, ESPECIALLY PAPER OR MATERIAL. *TR

IN SUMMER OF 2012 MY DASH STARTED MELTING I ATTEMPTED TO CLEAN IT AND WAS UNABLE TO NO MATTER WHAT PRODUCTS WERE RECOMMENDED IN HANDBOOK AS TIME WENT ON IT ONLY GOT WORSE IT IS SO STICKY THAT EVERYTHING STICKS TO IT AND NOW IT LOOKS TERRIBLE IM COMPLETELY EMBARRASSED TO LET ANYONE IN MY VEHICLE IF I TRY AND TRADE IT OR SELL IT THE DAMAGE DECREASES THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE AND TOYOTA REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKE I FEEL VICTIM TO TOYOTA I HAVE BEEN A FAITHFUL CUSTOMER FOR MANY YEARS THIS IS MY LAST TOYOTA PURCHASE. *JS

THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED HOWEVER, A REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DEEMED AS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ON JANUARY 18, 2010 MY WIFE AND I BOUGHT A TOYOTA CAMRY, SE MODEL FROM ARLINGTON TOYOTA, JACKSONVILLE, FL. A FEW MONTHS AFTER WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE, TOYOTA COMPANY RECALLED THIS VEHICLE MODEL DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE ACCELERATOR GETS JAMMED ON THE FLOOR MAT, WHICH MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE UNINTENTIONALLY. WE TOOK OUR TOYOTA CAMRY TO ARLINGTON TOYOTA ON JULY 8, 2010 TO RESOLVE THE RECALL PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND HAD BEEN RUNNING FINE UNTIL AN ACCIDENT HAPPENED. ON JUNE 27, 2012, ABOUT 7:00 P.M., MY WIFE AND I WENT TO TIRE PLUS CAR CARE, JUST WEST OF HODGES BLVD ON ATLANTIC BLVD AND ABOUT A MILE FROM WHERE WE LIVE. MY WIFE AND I WERE APPROACHING A PARKING SPACE IN FRONT OF THE TIRE PLUS CAR CARE. AS SHE WAS SLOWLY PARKING, AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OCCURRED AT THE SPEED OF ABOUT 40 ? 50 MILES AN HOUR HITTING THE CURB, THE TREE AND IRRIGATION PIPE ON THE MOUND OF LANDSCAPE IN FRONT OF TIRE PLUS CAR CARE. AT HOME, AFTER WE LEFT OUR VEHICLE TO TIRE PLUS TO ASSESS THE DAMAGES ON MY CAR, I DISCUSSED THE ACCIDENT SCENARIO WITH MY WIFE. I ASKED HER IF SHE COULD HAVE POSSIBLY HIT THE ACCELERATOR WHILE PARKING AND SHE FIRMLY SAID NO. HER REACTION TO THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION, BEING SO CLOSE TO THE PARKING CURB, WAS TO STOP THE CAR AND THEREFORE SHE WOULD HAVE JUST HIT THE BRAKE FIRMLY AS HER RIGHT FOOT WAS ALREADY ON THE BRAKE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK. THE TOYOTA VEHICLE RECALL THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN TURNED-IN TO RESOLVE THE ACCELERATOR GETTING STUCK ON THE FLOOR-MAT MAY STILL HAVE PROBLEM OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. MY WIFE AND I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE AND ESCALATE OUR EXPERIENCE SO WE COULD HOPEFULLY WARN OTHER OWNERS AND HELP PREVENT POSSIBLE SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT MAY OCCUR TO CONSUMERS BY A RECALLED VEHICLE THAT UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATE. *TR
AIR CONDITION COMPRESSOR FAILED. AND NOT PUMPING. NEED NEW OR REBUILD PARTS ONLY 2 YEAR OLD CAR HAD ONLY 38,000 MILES ON IT. MISSED WARRANTY BY 2,000 MILES. *TR
THE DRIVER/FRONT SUNVISOR IS DEFECTIVE DUE TO DEFECTIVE MOUNTING BRACKETS. THE DRIVER/FRONT VISOR HAS NOT BEEN OPERATED FORCEFULLY AND DEFECTIVENESS OF PART(S) SHOULD BE REPLACED BY TOYOTA AS TOYOTA ACKNOWLEDGED THIS DEFECT THROUGH A TECH BULLETIN: T-SB-0284-09 AUGUST 21, 2009 SUNVISOR MOUNT LOOSE FOR 2007-2010 CAMRY. PER TOYOTA DEALERSHIP, THEY REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS MY VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY AS MY VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE 36K MILE WARRANTY. THIS DEFECT OCCURRED AT 30,000 MILES HOWEVER, I NEVER RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL OR UNOFFICIAL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA RE: THIS DEFECT AND WAS NOT ABLE TO REQUEST A FIX UNTIL MY VEHICLE EXCEEDED 36K MILES. ALSO, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED AT TOYOTA AT 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K, 30K AND 36K MILES AND AT NO POINT WAS I INFORMED OF THIS DEFECT ISSUE. THIS BROKEN SUNVISOR IS A SAFETY RISK AND TOYOTA SHOULD FIX THIS DEFECT AT NO COST TO THE VEHICLE OWNER. *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SOMETIME IN 2012 FOR AN UNRELATED ISSUE WHEN THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE STRUTS/SHOCKS WERE LEAKING OIL AND SHOULD BE REPLACED BY TOYOTA BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED. I WAS TOLD BY INDEPENDENCE MECHANIC THAT THE STRUTS OIL LEAKING PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON TO THE NEWER CAMRY (2010 MODEL) AND IT COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I TOKE THE VEHICLE TO A TOYOTA DEALER TO SHOW THEM THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE DEALER INSPECTED THE STRUTS, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS "NORMAL OIL EVAPORATION" SO THE STRUTS WILL NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. WHEN OIL IS LEAKED OUT OF A "O RING" FROM STRUT CASING/HOUSING, IT IS A LEAK, AND IT IS NOT "NORMAL EVAPORATION". IS TOYOTA PLAYING GAME WORD GAME ("NORMAL EVAPORATION") TO AVOID WARRANTY COVER TO IT CUSTOMERS (BECAUSE TOO MANY 2010 CARS HAVING OIL LEAKING PROBLEM)? WOULD IT BE A SAFETY ISSUE LATER ON? *TR
AT 46,000 MILES I HAD PROBLEMS WITH ROAD NOISE, SO I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ( RICHARDSON TOYOTA IN RICHARDSON, TEXAS) AND HAD THEM LOOK AT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE NOISE. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A TIRE PROBLEM, THEY ROTATED THEM TOLD ME EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. THEN ABOUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED AGAIN, I WENT TO TIRE SHOP IN MCKINNEY, TEXAS RATHER THAN GOING TO THE DEALER. THEY ASKED ME TO COME OUT AND LOOK AT THE STRUTS AND THE TIRES. THE TIRES WERE CUPPING BECAUSE THE STRUTS WERE LEAKING SO BADLY THEY WEREN'T KEEPING THE FRONT END LEVEL. I THEN CALLED THE DEALER AND TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE PROBLEM, WHICH UPON ARRIVAL WAS TOLD THE STRUTS WERE FINE, AND THAT TOYOTA SAID THE LEAKAGE WAS ACCEPTABLE FROM BETWEEN 10-15%. THEY RECOMMENDED NEW TIRES AND IF I WANTED TO REPLACE THE STRUTS THEY WOULD DO IT FOR ABOUT $1,000 TO $1,200 W/OUT TIRES. MY CAR WAS A CERTIFIED TOYOTA WHICH THEY WOULDN'T COVER ANY STRUT REPLACEMENT. I TOLD THEM WHY WOULD I BUY THE SAME TOYOTA PARTS AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM IN ANOTHER 35-40K MILES. IT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR SOMEONE WHO SOLD TOYOTA'S FOR 3 YEARS. *TR
WHEN I TOOK MY CAR FOR SERVICE AT 50,000 MILES, MY FRONT STRUTS WERE LEAKING, SO THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THEM. THEN I HAD MY 2009 CAMRY INSPECTED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT AT 60,000 MILES THE STRUTS WERE ALSO LEAKING. ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I GOT THE FRONT STRUTS REPLACED ON THE 2010 CAMRY, THE FRONT RIGHT STRUT BEGAN TO LEAK SEVERE TO THE POINT THAT ONLY HAVING 800 MILES AND A MONTH OF USE ON THE NEW STRUT, IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH NEWER TOYOTA CAMRY STRUTS AND THEY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE THERE IS A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IN ON OF THE CARS. *JB

I PURCHASED A CAMRY IN JANUARY 2010, AND 2 YEARS LATER I NEED NEW TIRES. NOW THEY TELL ME THAT THIS COULD BE NORMAL, BUT I HAVE PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED 2 OTHER NEW CARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO BUY TIRES. THE OUTSIDE TREAD OF MY TIRE IS COMPLETELY BALD. I REGULARLY ROTATE MY TIRES AND GET THE NEEDED MAINTENANCE. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR PULLING TO ONE SIDE WHEN DRIVING BUT WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT BY A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA AND THEY SEEM NOT TO CARE ABOUT MY SITUATION. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFECT BECAUSE A WORKER AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THIS HAPPENS TO MANY OF THE CAMRY'S THAT HE HAS SEEN. *TR
AT LEAST 2 QUARTS OF OIL IS MISSING AT EACH OIL CHANGE. MOBILE 0W20 WITH NEW FILTER WAS USED AT EACH 6000 MILES INTERVAL. NO OTHER OIL WAS INTRODUCED TO THE ENGINE AND AT LEAST JUST ONE DELAY AT 7000 MILES INSTEAD OF 6000 MILES (1000 MILES OVER).
ALL FOUR TIRES SHOWED SIGNS OF CUPPING, FRONT ONES THE WORST. SIGNS OF LEAKING AT THE TOPS OF ALL FOUR STRUT TOWERS. TWO TIRES REPLACED BY TOYOTA DEALER. FORWARD TO 9/20/13, 22379 MILES, DEALER DID 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STRUTS STILL LEAKING. *TR

IN LATE 2009, I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 CAMRY HYBRID. THE VEHICLE CAME WITH BRIDGESTONE TURANZA TIRES. I HAVE JUST HAD TO REPLACE THESE TIRES AFTER 2.5 YEARS AND ONLY 19,700 MILES. THE FRONT TIRES WERE 4/32 AND RIGHT AT THE WEAR MARK, THE REAR AT 6/32. THE WORN TIRE TREADS BECAME EVIDENT WITH THE FIRST CHICAGO SNOW. AT 10 MILES PER HOUR, I WAS SLIDING AS I DROVE HOME AND, AT ONE POINT, HAD TO SKID INTO A CURB IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE SO AS NOT TO SLIDE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC IN A CROWDED INTERSECTION. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND NO DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE OR OTHER PROPERTY. I CONTACTED THE DEALER (FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE CAR) TO COMPLAIN. HE TOLD ME THE TIRES WERE GUARANTEED FOR FIVE YEARS BUT HAD NO ESTIMATED MILEAGE, WHICH IS HARD TO BELIEVE. I ALSO CONTACTED ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THESE TIRES LAST NO MORE THAN 25,000 MILES. I SPOKE WITH A BRIDGESTONE DEALER AND WAS TOLD 40,000 MILES. I HAVE CHANGED THE OIL ON MY CAR REGULARLY AND ALSO HAD MY TIRES ROTATED EVERY SIX MONTHS (MY CAR HAS VERY LOW MILEAGE TO DATE). IT IS EVIDENT THAT BRIDGESTONE TURANZA TIRES DO NOT MEET EVEN THE MINIMUM ENDURANCE REQUIREMENTS.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN DRIVING AND STOPPING MY DRIVER SEAT SHIFTS AND MOVE. NOT SURE IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THIS ISSUE. I HAVE A 2010 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHEN I REACHED 70 MPH WHILE DRIVING MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE VERY BADLY. EVERY TIME I TURN ON THE HEATING SYSTEM OF MY TOYOTA CAMRY, I GET THIS FOUL SULFUR SMELL COMING FROM THE VENTS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY THEY RAN TESTS ON IT BUT SINCE THEY CAN'T REPRODUCE THE SMELL THERE'S NOTHING TO DO. THUS FAR TOYOTA HAS WRITTEN IT OFF TO THE SULFUR LEVELS IN THE FUEL, YET I OWN A TOYOTA COROLLA AS WELL AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE. AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SMELL HAPPENS AFTER THE FUEL IS BURNED AND PASSED THROUGH THE CATALYST CONVERTER, BUT I'M WORRIED THAT SEPARATE SYSTEMS -- THE HEATING AND THE PROCESS OF BURNING FUEL -- CROSS TOGETHER TO BRING THAT SMELL INTO THE CABIN OF THE CAR. I REMEMBER THE PREVIOUS BIG TOYOTA RECALL AND HOW THEY TRIED TO BRUSH THE PROBLEM UNDER THE RUG, BUT I HOPE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN HERE.
