Back seatbelts will not fasten never have since I bought the car… Right side bumper is missing the screws like the ones that’s on recalls for the Highlander… Almost every Toyota Camry I see has that problem and it will cause a hazard if comes off.
On random occasions, key in the ignition won't turn at all, regardless of stepping on the brake and moving the steering wheel at the same time. Sometimes, I was able to turn the key after trying again in 5 minutes. Once, it worked after 25 minutes of trying. Not a consistent issue, but I never know when and where it may happen again. Not sure if it is "available for inspection upon request". Don't believe that the car has been inspected by a service center or anyone else yet. While my safety was not put in jeopardy at those specific moments, it could be a safety issue in the future, because I may have to drive someone to a medical facility or I may need to leave an environment that has become unsafe, and I would be stranded for however long, if the ignition abruptly gets locked.
While driving at highway speeds the steering seems to "stick" a little. I would explain it as the front end seems to pull from side to side, and then the drive wheels seen to stick so you have to fight with the steering wheel to get the vehicle to maintain lane travel. The dash lights came on that same night when this started. Maintenance req, airbag, seatbelt, battery, brake, low tire pressure, and traction Control lights all came on. They remain on and have not gone off.

TRANSMISSION ISSUE DELAY SHIFTING... FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE
I own a 2014 Toyota Camry with 163,000 miles. For years, I’ve experienced a noticeable shudder and vibration around 40–50 mph, which I now understand is a common defect related to the torque converter and addressed in a Toyota-issued TSB (T-SB-0168-14). I was never notified of this bulletin, despite having my car serviced regularly. Toyota and its dealers consistently failed to inform me of this issue, and now that I’m just over the mileage cap, they are refusing to assist. I feel deceived and upsold on unnecessary repairs when a known, more affordable fix existed. This is an unethical practice and a known problem that needs further federal investigation.
MY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED. IT STARTED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT THEN DRIVER SIDE NOW ALL HAVE FAILED MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK CAR EXCEPT BY MANUALLY DOING IT. THIS IS INCONVENIENT AND MAKES THE CAR HARDLY ACCESSIBLE EXCEPT USING KEY TO MANUALLY OPEN DRIVER SIDE
HESITATION BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR, SPUTTERING FEELING
I WAS HUNG UP UPON BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF SERVICE ADVOCACY ILLEDGELY AT MANUFACTURERS HEADQUARTERS WHEN ADVOCATING PROBLEMS WITH MANUFACTURERS REPRESENTATIVES ON PHONE AND /OR IN PERSON ABOUT VEHICLE AND/OR MAINTENANCE , WARRANTY CONCERNS FROM 11/30 TO APPROXIMATELY 2.00PM, IN GENERAL.TERMS BY ITS STAFFABROAD AND HERE AND FUTURE WORLD WIDE. BUT NOT INCLUDING MORE ISSUES WITH VEHICLE AND/OR TREATMENT OF REPRESENTATIVES OF VEHICLE. THE QUESTION RESPONSE TO ANSWER UNDER "NOTE" IS UNKNOWN. TOTAL DISATISFACTION WITH MANUFACTURER AND WORLDWIDE DEALERSHIPS. THESE AND POSSIBLY MORE INCIDENTS HAPPENED PRIOR TO 11/31/20.
TOYOTA DIAGNOSED TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THERE'S A RECALL ON TORQUE CONVERTER FOR 2012, 2013, & 2014 OF MY MAKE & MODEL HOWEVER THEY DO NOT INCLUDE MY VIN IN THIS RECALL. I'M REQUESTING IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BECAUSE IT FALLS UNDER MY YEAR, MAKE & MODEL.
ON DECEMBER 18, 2020 A CRASH INVOLVING A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY OCCURRED. DURING THE CRASH, THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER DIED AS A RESULT OF HIS INJURIES. DURING A POST-CRASH INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, MANY HOLES, TEARS, AND BURN-THROUGH HOLES WERE DISCOVERED IN THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG THAT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY SHRAPNEL.*DT*DT*DT*DT*DT*TR*JB*JB*JB*DT*JB
ON 2 OCCASIONS, MONTHS APART, SHORTLY AFTER STARTING THE CAR, I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO STOP THE CAR. THE GAS DID NOT LET UP WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OF THE GAS PETAL AND PUT IT ON THE BRAKE.
BAD TRANSMISSION KEEP SHAKING AND SHUDDERING , SPEED BETWEEN 20-45 MPH
DRIVERS SEAT WHERE THE CONTROLS ARE LOCATED COVERING PLASTIC BROKE AND NOT ABLE TO SNAP BACK IN PLACE. ALSO NOTICE THIS ON MY MOTHERS 2015 CAMRY AS WELL.
CAR BRAKES MAKE A HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE AND CAR WILL SUDDENLY TURN OFF AS IT'S RUNNING ON THE ROAD. ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH BOARD TURN ON RIGHT BEFORE THE CAR SHUTS OFF. LUCKILY I'VE BEEN ABLE TO DIRECT MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF ROAD.TOOK IT TO MY NEAREST TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. THEY RETURNED MY CAR IN THE SAME CONDITION 4 TIMES. EACH TIME TELLING ME THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED AND PUT ME ON THE ROAD AGAIN THINKING IT WAS FIXED TILL MY CAR TURNED OFF AGAIN. LUCKILY I'VE WAS VERY CAREFUL. THIS FINAL TIME I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP AND NOW THEY HAVE SAID THEY FIGURED IT OUT. I HEED A BRAKE BOOSTER AND ACTUATOR POSSIBLY BRAKE PEDAL.COSTING ME A TOTAL OF 6000.00. I WAS IN SHOCK I'VE NEVER HEARD OF A CAR ISSUE LIKE THIS.
AIR PRESSURE SIGNAL APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD. WITHOUT MY CONSENT THEY CHANGED THE FOUR TIRE SENSORS AND THEY PUT A NEW BATTERY. STILL THE AIR PRESSURE SIGNAL APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD, I WENT BACK TWICE THEY NEVER FIX IT , THEY HAVE CHARGED ME $ 1,154.02 AND STILL NOT FIXED

WHEN PLACE CAR IN PARK IT ROLLS THEN STOPS.
I HAD MY BREAKS CHANGED BACK IN JULY, BEFORE I LEFT ON MILITARY ORDERS. WHEN I CAME BACK HOME, I NOTICED MY CAR WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY. I WOULD HAVE TO PRESS REALLY HARD FOR THEM TO WORK. OR THEY WOULD STILL BE ENGAGED LIKE, MAKING IT HARDER FOR ME TO DRIVE. AS WELL MY CAR WOULD REV UP, IN PARK MODE. OR WHILE I'M WAITING AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I'VE NOTICED A POPPING SOUND ON LEFT SIDE OF MY CAR AS WELL. MY ELECTRIC SYSTEM WILL SOMETIMES CUT OFF EVERYTHING IN MY CAR. I WILL HAVE TO TURN CAR OFF WAIT A FEW MINS AND TURN IT BACK ON. I HAVE HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON, I TOOK IT TO BODY SHOP. THEY RAN A TEST ON IT. AND STATED EVERYTHING WAS FINE, AND REST CODES. I USE THIS CAR TO AND FROM WORK. I GET FREQUENTLY MAINTENANCE CHECKS. THE ONLY THING I'VE HAD DONE TO CARE WAS REPLACEMENT OF HEAD LIGHT FROM A DEER HITTING ME. I'VE NOTICED MALFUNCTION PRIOR TO DEER HITTING ME. I WAS TOLD BY BODY SHOP TO REPORT ISSUES.
I ATTEMPTED TO STOP MY VEHICLE AT THE END OF A DRIVEWAY WHEN I SAW FAST APPROACHING CROSS TRAFFIC. MY ENGINE BEGAN RACING AND MY BRAKES FAILED, CARRYING MY VEHICLE ABOUT 20 FEET INTO THE INTERSECTION AS I HELPLESSLY PRESSED DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. FAST APPROACHING VEHICLES BARELY MISSED ME. I BARELY ESCAPED VIOLENT DEATH.
TOUCHSCREEN IS PARTIALLY INOPERATIVE DUE TO FAULTY CALIBRATION. CALIBRATION STARTED CHANGING ONE YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. HASN'T BEEN A FACTOR BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN USING THE SAME PHONE. RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW PHONE AND CANNOT PAIR WITH THE SYSTEM. I DO NOT HAVE THE ABILTY TO USE THE PHONE VIA HANDS-FREE OPERATION WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS DEFECT IS VERY COMMON. TOYOTA HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT IT (TSB 0172-16). TOYOTA TOLD ME THAT THE WHOLE RADIO TOUCHSCREEN ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND TOYOTA SHOULD FIX THIS AT NO COST. (SOME PORTIONS OF THIS COMPLAINT WERE COPIED FROM ANOTHER PERVIOUSLY SUBMITTED COMPLAINT)
CAR WAS PARKED ON A DRIVEWAY, AND, WHEN PUT IN REVERSE, THE CAR ACCELERATED AT HIGH SPEED FOR ROUGHLY 60 FEET UNTIL IT RAN INTO A HILL. THEN, WHEN PUT IN DRIVE, CAR ACCELERATED AT HIGH SPEED FOR ROUGHLY 90 FEET AND RAN THROUGH HEAVY VEGETATION AND THEN INTO AND PARTIALLY THROUGH A GARAGE WALL. BRAKES WERE APPLIED DURING THE ENTIRE INCIDENT WITH NO EFFECT. CAUSES OF FAILURE ARE UNKNOWN. COST TO REPAIR CAR IS ABOUT $9000. COST TO REPAIR GARAGE, LANDSCAPING, AND CONTENTS ARE NOT YET KNOW.
YOKAHMA AVID ASCENT TIRES, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, TREAD SEPARATED AND CAUSED A BLOW OUT TIRES ONLY HAD A40000 MILES ON THEM FOR A 65000 MILE TIRE. NO PREVIOUS PROBLEM, SARTED BEING BUMPY AT 40MPH. I PULLED OVER DID NOT SEE ANYTHING, TOOK OFF AND POW TIRE WAS SHREDDED, THE TREAD JUST POPPED OFFF AND WAS FLAPPING AROUND. IT WAS ON A PAVED CITY ROAD IN ZIP CODE 37072
ON THE HIGHWAY A RATTLING NOISE FROM THE RIGHT FRONT INDICATING SOMETHING WAS LOOSE. TOOK TO A TIRE SHOP TO SEE THE PROBLEM AND AS THE FRONT TIRE WAS REMOVED I NOTICED THAT THE WHEEL BEARING ITS ALMOST COMPLETELY OFF FROM THE FRACTION OF THE VEHICLE.
2014 TOYOTA CAMRY SE ..I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND TURNED ON MY LIGHTS , AS I DID THE ENTIRE DASH LIT UP AND THE CAR ALMOST STALLED , GOT HOME AND NOTICED MY KEY FOB WOULDN'T LOCK THE DOORS , GOT BACK IN TO START IT AND IT DID NOTHING , NO POWER TO ANYTHING . I WAITED A FEW AND THEN IT STARTED RIGHT UP BUT THE CLOCK AND RADIO HAD TO RESET , CLICKING NOISE ON RIGHT SIDE AFTER CAR WAS OFF , BACKED UP AND POWER STEERING STOPPED . MECHANIC COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AFTER A MONTH , GOT THE CAR BACK AND IT WORKED FINE UNTIL THIS MORNING , WOULDN'T START , THEN STARTED AND THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SPUTTERED AS I TURNED ON THE LIGHTS , NOW THERE'S NO POWER TO THE CAR AT ALL ( KEY FOB DOESN'T WORK, WON'T TURN OVER ) WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE RADIO GOES OFF AND BACK ON AND THE CLOCK STOPS WORKING

IPHONE 11 WILL NOT SYNC WITH BLUETOOTH IN CAMRY. APPLE AND TOYOTA BLAME EACH OTHER BUT IT HAS WORKED PERFECTLY ON MY PREVIOUS IPHONES. CREATES SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO NO HANDSFREE AVAILABILITY. *TR
The touchscreen on the audio head unit does not function properly. I cannot pair a phone with the car's audio system because the on-screen buttons are unresponsive. This is a safety issue. I cannot use hands-free calling because I cannot pair a phone with the audio system. I started noticing issues with the touchscreen in 2018, but I was able to work around the issue. In 2020, however, I can no longer pair mobile devices to the audio system. Toyota is aware of this issue. It is widespread among several vehicle models from 2012-2014.
WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR IT WHEN I PRESSING THE GAS IT STOPS AND GIVES A PUSH THE WHOLE DRIVE.
WHEN ACCELERATING AT AROUND 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE "SHUDDERS" (FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS) AND LASTS ABOUT 3 SECONDS. HAPPENS ANYWHERE BETWEEN 25 - 40 MPH. MECHANIC SAID ITS A FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTOR. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS AN "ENHANCED WARRANTY" THAT WAS EXTENDED FOR CAMRY'S 2012-2014 AND I SHOULD VISIT THE DEALERSHIP. I SENT CAR TO TOYOTA OF TURNERSVILLE, NJ DEALERSHIP FOR FIX, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT DOES NOT INVOLVE MY VIN #. EVEN THOUGH ITS THE YEAR AND THE ISSUE IS HAPPENING. I OPENED A CASE WITH TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS AND THEY CLOSED THE CASE, STATING THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN ASSIST WITH FURTHER. I FEEL AS THOUGH THIS PROBLEM ORIGINATED IN 2012, AND TOYOTA WAS STILL PUTTING BAD TORQUE CONVERTERS INTO THEM IN 2014, 2 YEARS LATER AND THEN STATING BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE VIN, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME? I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2016, NOW KNOWING THAT IT CAME WITH AN ISSUE IDENTIFIED YEARS EARLIER BY THE MAKER. IF THIS PROBLEM WAS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ENOUGH TO A WIDESPREAD ISSUE THAT THEY EXTENDED THE COVERAGE FOR 8 YEARS, 150,000 MILES, THEY SHOULD BE WILLING TO COVER ANYONE WITH A CAMRY FOR THOSE 2 YEARS, NOT JUST DEPENDENT UPON A VIN #. IT SHOULD BE DEPENDENT UPON THE ISSUE HAPPENING WITH THE CAR, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO CHARGE INNOCENT FOLKS $3000 FOR A FIX THAT THEY CAUSED!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHICH FAILED TO ENGAGE CORRECTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR WITH THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO VEER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AND THE WHICH RESUMED TO DRIVING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TOYOTA OF RIVERSIDE 7870 INDIANA AVE, RIVERSIDE, CA 92504 (951) 687-1622) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000.
WHEN CAR WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, CAR MADE A LOUD NOISE AND STARTED SHAKING. THEN CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. BRAKES LOCKED. CAR WOULDN'T STOP IN NEUTRAL OR IN PARK GEAR. IT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BY REAR ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. CAR ACCELERATED VERY QUICKLY AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS WELL. PASSENGER IN CAR HEARD THE NOISE TOO. THE CAR ACCELERATED ABRUPTLY ON ITS OWN.
AT ABOUT 45MPH THERE IS A SLIPPING OR SHUTTERING OF WHAT SEEMS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION. I THOUGHT IT WAS A TIRE PROBLEM. HAD CHECKED. TIRES ARE FINE.
Problems with tranmission o shutters causing vehicle to jump and stale at 25pm and45mph
THE FOG LIGHT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BUMPER CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIREMAN STATED THE HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE. HE ALSO STATED IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. FOR ME TOO REPORT IT TO TOYOTA
REAR PASSENGER SEATBELT WILL NOT LATCH. DAUGHTER MOVED TO REAR DRI VER SIDE FOR CRASH PROTECTION. I INSPECTED THE PROBLEM ON NOVEMBER 30, 2019 AND DETERMINED THAT THE RECEIVER LOCK WAS NOT CATCHING/HOLDING ON TO THE SHOULDER STRAP BUCKLE.
THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AT 20 MPH AND SHUDDERS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH UNDER LIGHT AND NORMAL ACCELERATION. DURING FAST ACCELERATION, THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN. THE VEHICLE HAS 131,186 MILES DRIVEN.
2014 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS TRIGGERED A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) WITH THE FOLLOWING DETAILS: CODE P0001 DESCRIPTION THE FUEL VOLUME REGULATOR ALLOWS THE FUEL SYSTEM TO RELEASE EXCESSIVE FUEL FROM THE ENGINE BACK TO THE FUEL TANK. WHEN THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DETERMINES THAT THE FUEL VOLUME REGULATOR IS NOT PERFORMING PROPERLY, THE PCM WILL SET CODE P0001. THIS ALERT WAS DETECTED AT 07:58 AM ON 07/17/2019 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS TRIGGERED A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) WITH THE FOLLOWING DETAILS: CODE P0014 DESCRIPTION NEWER VEHICLES USE A VARIABLE TIMING SYSTEM TO ADJUST THE TIMING OF THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES IN AN EFFORT TO INCREASE FUEL EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE. THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (PCM) USES A CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR TO ADJUST THE CAMSHAFT ACCORDINGLY. IF THE CAMSHAFT DOES NOT RESPOND AS THE PCM REQUESTS, THE PCM WILL SET CODE P0014. THIS ALERT WAS DETECTED AT 05:50 PM ON 11/08/2019.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FAMILY TOYOTA OF ARLINGTON (1661 WET N WILD WAY, ARLINGTON, TX 76011) WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE HEADLAMPS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHT BULBS IN THE HEADLAMPS WERE REPLACED AND THE HEADLAMPS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER FAMILY TOYOTA OF ARLINGTON LOCATED AT 1661 WET N WILD WAY, ARLINGTON, TX 76011, (682) 227-8877, THREE WEEKS AFTER THE ACCIDENT AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT SHORTLY AFTER THE BATTERY BECAME FAULTY. THE DEALER EXCHANGED THE BATTERY. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE AND SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING DURING NIGHT WITH LIGHTS ON AT HIWAY SPEED AND ALL INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH IN PITCH BLACK! I HAD TO GUESS WHERE I WAS ON CURVED OVERPASS. I TRIED FLICKING THE HI/LOW BEAM SWITCH, BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP. COULDN'T GET LIGHTS TO COME ON UNTIL STOPPED, SHUT OFF CAR AND RESTARTED IT. HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW. FIRST TIME WAS PRIOR TO ANY BODY DAMAGE, SECOND TIME IT WASN'T COMPLETELY PITCH BLACK SO NOT AS DANGEROUS. ANOTHER TRIP WE WERE ON 4 LANE INTERSTATE DRIVING THROUGH A CITY AND SOMEONE ELSE HAD HIT AN ORANGE CONSTRUCTION BARREL AND IT HAD FLIPPED UP INTO AIR AND WE HIT IT AT HIWAY SPEED ON LEFT FRONT CORNER OF CAR. HAD TO REPLACE BUMPER, HEADLIGHT, WASHER FLUID TANK, REPAIR FENDER. AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF. I AM AN EMT AND ANOTHER DAY WAS DRIVING TO A GUNSHOT CALL AT 80 MPH AND REACHED FOR PAGER AS IT WAS FALLING AND FRONT WHEEL DROPPED OFF SHOULDER AND I KNEW NOT TO CORRECT IT, SO JUST KEPT STRAIGHT AND CAME TO STOP IN SNOW FILLED DITCH. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED OUT, AND THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER INDICATED THAT IT WAS A DIFFICULT DITCH TO GET IT OUT OF. HAD GET GET IT REALIGNED AND REPLACE RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT, BUMPER, AND SOME OTHER PLASTIC PIECES. THIRD TIME WE WERE T-BONED AT AN INTERSECTION IN TOWN, WOULD ESTIMATE LESS THAN 30 MPH, AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DAMAGE WAS BAD ENOUGH IT WAS NOT DRIVEABLE ANYMORE AND INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE CAR OUT. WE BOUGHT THE CAR BACK TO REPAIR IT TO CONTINUE DRIVING IT, BUT NOW I AM THINKING THAT WAS A POOR DECISION AS I WONDER ABOUT THE SAFETY OF IT. THE LAST ACCIDENT HAS ME VERY SHOOK UP AND I AM WAITING TO HAVE SURGERY ON MY NECK NOW BECAUSE OF IT. I WONDER IF THE SIDE AIR BAGS HAD WORKED, WOULD I NEED TO HAVE MY NECK FUSED.
BETWEEN 40-55MPH AT LIGHT ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE BEGINS SHAKING AND SHUTTERING WHILE IN AUTOMATIC IF SWITCHED INTO MANUAL MODE I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE PROBLEM TO OCCUR. 128,000MILES ON THE VEHICLE. IF HARD ACCELERATION IS APPLIED ISSUE DOES NOT SEEM TO OCCUR.
THERE WAS A LOT OF NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR, AND IT BEGAN SHUDDERING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I'VE BEEN NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND PRAY IT DOESN'T KEEP HAPPENING. ANYWAY, THE CAR WAS INSPECTED ON OCTOBER 18 2019, I WAS TOLD THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH R&R TRANSMISSION FOR TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND REPLACE REAR MAIN SEAL. UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T HAVE $3,000 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
I DRIVE A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY SE AND I AM EXPERIENCING AN EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION , I AM USING ALWAYS A SYNTACTIC OIL BUT IT DOES NOT LAST LONG TIME . THE REASON I AM WRITING ABOUT THIS ISSUES IS BECAUSE YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING ( 50 M/H) AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE OIL LIGHT COME ON , I WAS LUCKY NO ONE WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME . I TOOK MY CAR TO A SHOP TODAY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MANY TOYOTA ENGINE HAS THIS PROBLEM .
I WAS DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON US HIGHWAY 141IN WISCONSIN, JUST NORTH OF THE LINEVILLE RD EXIT. I WAS GOING THE SPEED LIMIT APPROX. 70 MPH. THE TEMP. WAS IN THE 60S AND THE SKY WAS OVERCAST WITH NO PRECIP. THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC AND I WAS ON A FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD WITH NO VEHICLES DIRECTLY IN FRONT OR BEHIND. THERE WAS NO CONSTRUCTION AND/OR ROAD EQUIPMENT IN SIGHT. I HAD NOT DRIVEN UNDER ANY STRUCTURES. SUDDENLY MY SUNROOF EXPLODED ABOVE MY HEAD. THE SUNROOF WAS CLOSED AND THE INTERIOR SCREEN WAS PULLED SHUT. I DID NOT SEE ANY OBJECTS OR ANIMALS, ONLY GLASS FLYING IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR. IT WAS A TERRIFYING SOUND, LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST. I PULLED OFF AT THE NEAREST EXIT IN A TOWING AREA AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A BIG HOLE IN THE GLASS AND SHARDS OF SHATTERED GLASS ON TOP OF THE INTERIOR SCREEN, WHICH HAD BEEN PULLED SHUT. I CALLED 911 AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. TWO BROWN COUNTY WIS. OFFICERS CAME AND LOOKED AT THE DAMAGE AND ASSESSED THERE HAD NOT BEEN ANY KIND OF GUN SHOT. THE OFFICERS DOCUMENTED THE CALL. I WAS FORCED TO DRIVE HOLDING THE INSIDE SCREEN WITH ONE HAND HOLDING IT SHUT, SO IT WOULD NOT BLOW OPEN, FOR APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES TO MEET MY HUSBAND AND SWITCH CARS.I FELT VERY UNSAFE AND WAS SHAKEN, AS I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. I HAVE READ, ONLINE, THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY OTHER SIMILAR INCIDENTS AND I BELIEVE IT IS A TOYOTA MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE. I CALLED TOYOTA AND REPORTED THE INCIDENT BUT THEY SAID MY CAR DID NOT QUALIFY FOR ANY CURRENT "PROGRAMS" AND IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR. FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT CUT BY GLASS, BUT WAS BADLY SHAKEN TO THE POINT OF FEELING NAUSEATED FOR HOURS AFTERWARDS.
THE TOUCHSCREEN HAS COMPLETELY GONE OUT AND YOU CAN NO LONGER USE TOUCH TO ACCESS CAR SETTINGS - THEREFORE NOT BEING ABLE TO CHANGE KEY FEATURES ON THE CAR. A COUPLE EXAMPLES WOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE CAR, AND DIMMING SCREEN BRIGHTNESS FOR SAFER DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE SCREEN HAS GRADUALLY GONE OUT OVER TIME AND OFFICIALLY QUIT OCTOBER 2019.
DURING ACCELERATION FROM 0 MPH BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 10MPH AND 40MPH THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN CHANGING FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR. DURING THIS HESITATION, THE VEHICLE ACTS VERY SIMILAR TO A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. AFTER ABOUT 2-3 SECONDS THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION ENGAGES THE GEAR AND ACTS CONTINUES ON AS IF NOTHING IS WRONG.

WHEN IM DOING A LIGHT ACCELERATION FROM 20 TO 50 MPH THERE IS A SHUDDERING VIBRATION FROM THE TRANSMISSION THAT VIBRATES THE CAR. I HAVE TO COME OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND PRESS HARDER JUST TO STOP THE SHUDDER AND VIBRATION. MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND STAYS ON CONSTANTLY. *TR
