COMPLETE REPLACEMENT REQUIRED OF BOTH REAR WHEEL BEARINGS, BACKING PLATES, BRAKE CALIPERS, PADS AND ROTORS, WITH RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF TIRES, ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 52,000 MILES. BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, THE INITIAL REPAIR ESTIMATE WAS ALMOST $4000.00. THE DEALER, HOWEVER, AGREED TO REPAIR FOR ABOUT $2500.00 (PASS THROUGH COST OF PARTS). THIS MATTER CAME TO LIGHT UPON HEARING A 'SCREECHING' NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING - THE SCREECHING NOISE SUGGESTING A WHEEL BEARING WAS FAILING. MANUFACTURER ALLEGES REPLACEMENT IS NEEDED DUE TO EXPOSURE OF THESE PARTS TO ROAD SALT. HOWEVER, I HAVE OWNED NUMEROUS OTHER VEHICLES THAT WERE EXPOSED TO ROAD SALT AND NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH PROBLEMS. CONTRARY TO THE MANUFACTURER'S ALLEGATION, I SUSPECT A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THESE PARTS. IN FACT, ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS THE ABOVE PROBLEM, ANOTHER LIKE VEHICLE THAT WE OWN (2017 MODEL WITH ABOUT 15,000 MILES) EXPERIENCED A FROZEN REAR BRAKE CALIPER (ALLEGEDLY FOR THE SAME REASON, NAMELY, EXPOSE TO ROAD SALT) THAT IS BEING REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.
STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN TO CENTER AFTER RIGHT TURNS EVERY TIME. IT HAPPENS IN WET OR DRY CONDITIONS. IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED AND ANY ANGLE OF TURN. THE PROBLEM IS TOO INTERMITTENT TO REPRODUCE. THERE IS A POP OR GRIND IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE IN A TURN AND FORCING THE WHEEL BACK TO CENTER. THE POP HAPPENS IN LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS AFTER THE WHEEL HAS TURNED FULLY IN EITHER DIRECTION AND HAS TO BE FORCED TO RETURN TO CENTER. THE POP IS ALSO INTERMITTENT AND CANNOT BE REPRODUCED ON DEMAND. BOTH PROBLEMS ARE BECOMING MORE FREQUENT BUT NOT ENOUGH TO REPRODUCE FOR REPAIR ACCORDING TO TOYOTA OF AMERICA. THE PROBLEM ALSO HAPPENS IN WET OR DRY CONDITION AND ANY TEMPERATURE FROM FLORIDA TO VIRGINIA.
MY CAR GETS STUCK AT 40 MPH WHEN PRESSING ON GAS I HAVE BEEN TAKING IT BACK AND FORTH TO DEALER SINCE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG
JUST ABOUT COMPLETELY STOPPED AT STOP SIGN AT END OF STREET - WITHOUT WARNING CAR ACCELERATED EXTREMELY FAST, CROSSED 2-LANE STREET - DROVE INTO CHURCH PARKING LOT ON AN INCLINE TURNED AND BACK ACROSS THE 2-LANE STREET AND MY VEHICLE HIT NEIGHBOR'S TRUCK HEAD ON. BOTH CARS TOTALLED. HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OF STEERING AND BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. POLICE TOOK REPORT - MY PASSENGER AND I TOLD THE SAME SEQUENCE OF EVENTS AS WELL AS A NEIGHBOR WHO SAW EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED. EVERY SINGLE AIRBAG WENT OFF.
I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT A VEHICLE FROM CARBONE SUBARU OF TROY NY ON 11/27 2018. (COMPLAINT ORIGINALLY SUBMITTED DECEMBER, 2019). THE CAR WAS A LEMON. I FINALLY GOT A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE (WITH CLEAN CARFAX) ON 12/31/18. ON 8/30/19, CAR WAS TOTALED DUE AMOUNT OF MOLD FOUND EVERYWHERE IN THE CAR, ICLUDING ROOF AND SPARE TIRE IN TRUNK. I CALLED CARBONE SUBARU SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS IGNORED. I FINALLY GOT AHOLD OF MELINDA @ LITHIA MOTOR GROUP HQ IN OREGON. I WAS TOLD SHE WOULD CALL ME BACK WITHIN A WEEK. OVER 3 WEEKS LATER AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS I GOT AHOLD OF HER. I EXPLAINED TO HER I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE HORRIFIC ODOR IN THE CAR TO MY SALESPERSON AND TO A MECHANIC, AND WAS GIVEN AN AIR FRESHENER. I WAS TOLD THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR IN WINTER, AND WATER IS A SUMMER PROBLEM, AND THEY WOULD ONLY HELP ME IF I BOUGHT A 3RD CAR FROM THEM. I NOW HAVE TO FOLLOW UP WITH A PULMONARY SPECIALIST FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS TO CHECK FOR MOLD RELATED HEALTH PROBLEMS. IT HAS ALSO COST $150 IN DOCTOR CO-PAYS SO FAR, $500 IN INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE, $1,500 FOR DOWN PAYMENT AND EXPENSES FOR HAVING TO BUY ANOTHER CAR AFTER 8 MONTHS OF OWNING THE 2014 CAMRY. I HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES OF THE MOLD FOUND IN CAMRY, THE COMPLETE LOSS STATEMENT BY INSURANCE, THE $20,000+ ESTIMATE TO REMEDIATE THE MOLD, AND MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHUDDERING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. EVENTUALLY, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTER. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. WHILE REVERSING, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND MADE A SQUEAKING NOISE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED TO VISIT A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V144000 (STEERING). THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 201,000.
When the car starts Traction Control, ABS, and Brake lights come on. This locks the shifter ans leaves the car without ABS and Traction Control protection.
ROAOING NOISE WHEN WHEELS TURN. LOUD ON SMOOTH ROAD FROM 20MPH ON UP. RYTHEM INCREASES WITH SPEED. TOYOTA INSPECTION STATED ALL TIRES HAVE INSIDE EDGE FEATHERED TREAD. VERY EXCESSIVE ON REAR TIRES. REPLACE ALL TIRES TO STOP NOISE. CAUSE UNKNOWN
DURING ACCELERATION BETWEEN 30 - 50 MPH, THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION APPEARS TO SLIP AND NOT ENGAGE THE GEAR. AFTER A SECOND OR TWO THE VEHICLE ENGAGES THE GEAR AND CONTINUES ON AS IF NOTHING OCCURRED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 25-50 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. WHEN THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE NORMALLY. WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES MOVE ABOUT 10 FEET AND THEN HESITATE FOR ABOUT 1 TO 2 SECONDS. IT WILL THEN ACCELERATE NORMALLY. ONE TIME THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO ABOUT 20 MPH AND THEN THE ENGINE RPM RETURNED TO IDLE. THE ACCELERATOR WAS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR AND THE RPM REMAINED AT IDLE. THE ACCELERATOR WAS RELEASED AND PUSHED DOWN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED NORMALLY. THIS HAPPENED ONLY ONE TIME. THE INTERMITTENT HESITATION IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THE CROSS TRAFFIC IS UNCONTROLLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE PROBLEM. THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE CONDITION. THE U760E TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER RECALL UPGRADE WAS PERFORMED. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT SOME TRANSMISSION HESITATION WAS NORMAL. THE SERVICE ADVISOR ALSO SAID THERE HAD BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS CONDITION. THIS CONDITION IS DANGEROUS AND NOT NORMAL.
FREQUENT HESITATION IN ACCELERATION AFTER SLOWING DOWN AND THEN RE-ACCELERATING. ALSO HESITATES AFTER TURNING OR ENTERING ON A HIGHWAY ON-RAMP. HAVE REPORTED PROBLEM NUMEROUS TIMES TO DEALER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD NO PROBLEM CAN BE DETECTED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, AS I HAVE BEEN NEARLY REAR-ENDED SEVERAL TIMES.
THE FRONT DOOR LOCKS NO LONGER OPERATE BY REMOTE. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE PROBLEM SINCE MY REAR DOOR LOCKS DO RESPOND. I BELIEVE THE FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. THE REPAIRS FOR THIS WILL COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. THERE IS CURRENTLY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN CALIFORNIA. I THINK THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM.
Torque converter recall repair was performed incorrectly according to dealership shop. The car died on the ride home from the shop. We were told the fluid wasn't flushed during reassembly causing metal shards to disburse throughout the transmission. Since, the delay in acceleration is worse. There's at least 5 seconds from reverse to switch into drive. There's now a delay at stoplights. Code readers are saying Solenoid A and D are either stuck open or closed. Dealership refused to assist other than offering to replace the transmission at full cost to me. Everytime we drive it has transmission issues. Prior to the torque converter replacement, it shuddered while driving. Purchased in 2016 with about 20k miles
CAR SHAKES AT LOW SPEEDS, WHAT'S TOLD BY DEALER THAT IT IS A TORQUE CONVERTER WHICH IS NOT COVERED FOR MY CAR. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME THIRTY NINE HUNDRED. I SPENT $1,000 FOR PARTS AND GOT SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT FOR $2,000. NOW HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM REPORTED ONLINE BY MANY OTHERS AND STILL NO RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES.
THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS AT SPEEDS OF 30 TO 50 MPH. THE 2014 CAMRY HAS AN ABRUPT DEACCELERATION AND SHUDDER CAUSING OTHER VEHICLES FOLLOWING BEHIND ME TO APPLY SUDDEN BRAKES THAT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES TO DRIVERS. PRIOR TO PURCHASING, I CONTACTED RICHARDSON TX DEALERSHIP AND PROVIDED VIN AND MILEAGE 164K TO SERVICE ADVISER. SERVICE ADVISER SAID NO PROBLEM, TOYOTA WILL COVER THE TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACEMENT UNDER WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE SINCE I WAS ADVISED IT WAS COVERED. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIR AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MILEAGE BEING OVER 150,000 MILES. I CONTACTED CORPORATE OFFICE VIA PHONE. CANDY, THE TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE VIEWS MY PROFILE ON TOYOTA.COM AND CONFIRMS VIN AND MILEAGE AND STATES IT IS COVERED AND CALLS DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP TELLS CANDY IT WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR COST AND CORPORATE WILL NEED TO ABSORB THE COST. CANDY ESCALATES PROBLEM TO CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER, JONATHON. I CONTACTED THE TOYOTA CORPORATE SUPERVISOR, MONIQUE VIA PHONE. MONIQUE ASKS FOR COST OF REPAIRS FROM DEALERSHIP 'BEFORE APPROVING ANYTHING.' JONATHON, THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER PROVIDES THE COST TO CORPORATE. THEN TOYOTA CORPORATE SUPERVISOR, MONIQUE DENIES COST TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. SEVERAL DAYS AND PHONE CALLS AND MISLEADING INFORMATION FROM DEALERSHIP AND CORPORATE AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH A 2014 CAMRY XLE REQUIRING TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AFTER CORPORATE AND DEALERSHIP PERSONNELS PROVIDED WRONG INFORMATION. THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT REPAIR AND DID NOT SUBMIT THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIRS PRIOR TO MY OWNERSHIP. THIS TORQUE CONVERTER MALFUNCTION IS WELL DOCUMENTED. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE A RECALL INSTEAD OF JUST A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT.
SIRIUS XM RADIO HAS A RADIO DEVICE FOR CARS THAT DO NOT HAVE A BUILT IN XM RADIO. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT COMES WITH A 20 FOOT CORD. IT IS MEANT TO BE PLACED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CORD GOES THROUGH THE CAR AND IS PLACED ON TOP OF THE CAR. MY CORD GOT STUCK IN MY STEERING WHEEL AND SNAPPED THE CLOCK SPRING. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AS ALL MY CAPABILITIES WERE RESTRICTED. MY HORN, AIRBAG AND CONTROLS WERE NOT OPERABLE. THIS WAS BECAUSE THE CLOCK SPRING GOT SEVERED. IT IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.

TOUCH SCREEN RADIO BASS CONTROL STOPPED WORKING WURRING NOISE FROM STEERING WHEEL WHILE I TURN WHEEL IN REVERSE BACKING PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT IS ON AND WON'T TURN OFF

WHILE CAR WAS GOING 30-35MPH, I HAD TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO TRAFFIC. LETTING GO OF THE ACCELERATOR WAS FINE, BUT WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN, CAR STALLED UNDER LOW RPM FOR 2-3 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENED BACK IN MAY AND IT WAS JUST SOMETIMES. BUT NOW IT'S BEEN HAPPENING EVERYDAY ON LOW SPEEDS AND LOW RPM. IDLING IS FINE, CAR IS ALWAYS IN OPERATING TEMPERATURE WHEN STALLING HAPPENS (SO I KNOW THIS IS NOT RELATED TO COLD ENGINE). I CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY'RE NOT SURE WHAT COULD CAUSE IT.
CAR STALLS SOMETIMES BUT HESITATE EVERY TIME I DRIVE ON STREETS WITH LOW SPEED LIMIT. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN OR SLOW TRAFFIC FLOW, CAR HESITATES FOR 2-3 SECONDS AND THEN ITS FINE. BUT THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME. ON HIGHWAY SPEED, IT DOESN'T HESITATE OR STALL UNLESS I COME TO A STOP AND THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE.
MY SEATBELT WILL NOT STAY IN THE SLOT AFTER I BUCKLE IT. IT CLICKS, THE LIGHT GOES OUT AND THEN IT STARTS SLIDING OUT, AND THE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE BEEPING STARTS. I HAVE TO HOOK IT IN THE SLOT FOR THE PASSENGER SEATBELT TO GET IT TO STAY. THIS IS WHILE I AM DRIVING. IT WON'T STAY WHEN NOT DRIVING. I AM HAVING TO PAY $162 TO HAVE WHAT SHOULD BE AN UNBREAKABLE PART REPLACED AND I WANT TO KNOW IF THIS IS HAPPENING A LOT. I OWN TWO OLDER CARS, A 97 LINCOLN AND A 90 MIATA AND THOSE SEATBELTS WORK FINE.
MY CAR KEEPS SHUDDERING WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 25 AND 50 MPH. MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW A RECALL BUT THERES A LOT OF 2014 CAMRYS THAT HAD THIS RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED LATER DURING THE WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH BEFORE SUDDENLY ACCELERATING TO 55 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN OCTOBER OF 2018. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CARMAX TOYOTA (10201 PHILADELPHIA RD, WHITE MARSH, MD 21162) ON FIVE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,100.
TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHEN AIR BAG OFF LIGHT CAME ON AND THEY TOLD ME THE AIR BAG SENSOR HAD FALLEN OFF THE CAR
WHILE GOING DOWN HILL THE TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT ON IT'S OWN TO LOWER GEARS AND SPEED. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A SLOWER SPEED THE TRANSMISSION SLAMS INTO GEAR. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THE DEALER SAID THEY CAN'T GET IT TO DO IT, AND THAT THERE ARE NO CODES. IT'S IS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE. MY CAR DEVELOPED A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END. THIS OCCURRED ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING. I BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS VERY NEAR TO COMING APART - WHICH WOULD HAVE CAUSED A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE CAR. THIS SEAMS VERY SIMILAR TO THE ISSUE COVERED UNDER NHTSA RECALL NOTICE 14V715000, HOWEVER MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SCOPE OF THAT RECALL SO PERHAPS THAT NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED.
WHEN TURNING TO A HIGHWAY ON-RAMP AFTER SLOWING FOR THE TURN THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON THE RAMP THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WOULD HAVE TO RELEASE AND RE-APPLY THE ACCELERATOR TO ACCELERATE. THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT CAUSING BRAKES TO TAKE OVER SPEED CONTROL. THEY ADJUSTED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND PROBLEM WENT AWAY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THE EXPECTATION WHEN ON A HIGHWAY ON-RAMP IS THAT ACCELERATION IS GOING TO OCCUR, TRAFFIC BEHIND ME COULD NOT ONLY BE IRATETHATIAM NOT ACCELERATING(STARTINGAROAD RAGE INCIDENT)BUT IT COULD ALSO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT FROM THE INDIVIDUAL BEHIND ME NOT EXPECTING A SLOW DOWN ON THE RAMP. TOYOTA MADE ME PAY FOR THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH I HAVE AND AM STILL COVERED BY THE PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THIS WAS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT WAS CAUSED BY A DEFAULT IN MANUFACTURING PROCESS AND NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO THE VEHICLE TO CAUSE THE PROBLEM. DOCUMENTATION PROVIDED SHOWS WHAT MY COMPLAINT WAS TO THE DEALER AND WHAT DEALER DID TO FIX IT WITH MY PERSONAL INFORMATION REDACTED.
MARCH 2017 NOTICED A MOLD SMELL IN CAR. FLOOR BOARDS ON BOTH SIDES OF CAR WET. FRONT AND BACK SEAT. MECHANIC FILES INSURANCE CLAIM. ALL MOLD WAS REMOVED. ALL PADDING WAS REPLACED. CARPET WAS DISINFECTED, SHAMPOOED AND PUT BACK IN CAR. JANUARY 2019 MOLDY SMELL AGAIN, FLOORBOARDS WET, ODOR WORSE THAN BEFORE.
START TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM ON 12/20/2018 GET UP TO 20 MPH HARD SHIFT AND THEN UP TO 40 MPH HAS A VIBRATION AND THEN AFTER BETWEEN 45 AND 55 MPH IT DRIVE NORMAL. NOTICEABLE HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING AND SHIFTING OCCURS BETWEEN 30-32 MPH. HESITATE TO ACCELERATE BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR WHEN TAKING OFF, IT MOSTLY HAPPEN WHEN THE ENGINE IS FIRST STARTING OUT FROM STOP, AFTERWARD IT FINE GEARS SHIFTS CORRECTLY AND THE IDLE CONTROL GUAGE IS NORMAL BETWEEN GEARS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER ON 01/03/2019, THE TECHNICIAN TOOK THE CAR FOR DRIVE TEST AND HE SAID ITS A TORQUE CONVERTER PROBLEM. THEY CHANGED THE TORQUE CONVERTER PART; ON 1/05/2019 I WENT TO THE DEALER TO PICK UP THE CAR AND AFTER DRIVING FOR FEW MINUTES, I NOTICED THE SAME PROBLEM. I RETOOK THE CAR TO THE TOYOTA DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, AND THE SAME TECHNICIAN TOOK FOR THE TEST DRIVE, AND THIS TIME HE SAID IT HAS INTERNAL DELAY ON SECOND GEAR. I AM NOT SURE WHAT'S THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY ADVISED I NEED TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THE FOLLOWING ONLINE. "CARS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MIGHT EXPERIENCE A HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING. REVISED SOFTWARE FOR THE ON BOARD COMPUTER IS AVAILABLE WHICH MAY CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. SOFTWARE REVISIONS ARE COMMONLY MOST HELPFUL ON NEWER VEHICLES. ONCE THE MILEAGE BUILDS UP A WORN COMPONENT COULD CAUSE SIMILAR PROBLEMS. WHENEVER MAJOR TRANSMISSION WORK IN PERFORMED, THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE SHOULD BE UPDATED AS NECESSARY". I AM TAKING MY CAR ON 01/07/2019 TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AND SEE IF THAT CAN FIX THE PROBLEM
I JUST LEARNED THAT MY TOYOTA WAS COVERED UNDER A RESTRICTED RECALL UNTIL 10/31/17. MY CAR JUST RECENTLY STARTED SHOWING THE SAME ISSUES WITH VIBRATION AT 35-45MPH. I WOULD LIKE THIS RECALL TO BE EXTENDED TO COVER ALL CARS WITH THIS KNOWN ISSUE.
CAR IN MOTION ON CURVE IN CITY STREET. PUSHED REAR WINDOW DEFROST BUTTON. RADIO WENT OFF. HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF. STEERING VERY HARD TO USE. ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) DASH INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. WITHIN 2 SECONDS ALL RETURNED TO NORMAL. THIS OCCURRED TWO TIMES.
TOUCHSCREEN DOES NOT WORK 100%. AS YOU TRAVEL DOWN TOWARD THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN, THE TOUCH SENSOR IS OFF. WHEN YOU GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN, YOU CAN NOT SUCCESSFULLY TOUCH ANY ICONS WITHIN AROUND THE BOTTOM INCH OF THE SCREEN. THIS DOES AFFECT SYNCING A NEW HANDS FREE DEVICE. THIS MAKES IT A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE YOU CANNOT SYNC A NEW PHONE OR BLUETOOTH DEVICE FOR SAFE DRIVING. THIS VEHICLE IS DRIVEN IN PENNSYLVANIA AND MARYLAND.
AFTER FAILING BRAKES A MAJOR IMPACT HAPPENED AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY
CAMRY SHUDDERS BADLY AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 25-40 MPH WHEN SHIFTING GEARS IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. TOYOTA HAS A TSB ON THIS SHUDDER BUT NOT MY VECHICLE FOR SOME REASON. DURING CAR SHUDDERS AND HEISITATES MAKING IT FEEL UNSAFE.
GOT INTO ACCIDENT, MY FRONT BUMPER WAS DAMAGED BAD BUT NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER BEFORE 57,000. ACCORDING THE THE SERVICE AD VISOR THIS WAS A PROBLEM THAT TOYOTA KNEW ABOUT AND NEVER ISSUE A RECALL. MY CAR VIN WAS ON A LIST. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 60 MILES AND NOTICE THE ODOMETER WON'T MOVE. IT WON'T ACCELERATE OVER 60 MPH. THE DEALER CHANGE THE TORQUE CONVERTER BUT STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. THE DEALER WON'T GIVE ME A COPY OF THE REPAIR.
PULLING OUR 2014 CAMRY INTO OUR GARAGE AT VERY LOW SPEED WHEN THE RUBBER BRAKE PEDAL PAD CAME OFF CAUSING MY FOOT TO SLIDE OFF THE PEDAL RESULTING IN THE CAR STRIKING THE STEP LEADING INTO OUR HOUSE. I BROUGHT OUR CAR BACK TO THE TOYOTA DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS NOT THEIR FIRST COMPLAINT REGARDING THE RUBBER PAD FALLING OFF. THE ONLY GUIDANCE THEY OFFERED ME WAS TO USE "GORILLA GLUE" TO RENDER THE RUBBER BRAKE PEDAL PAD MORE SECURE. I BELIEVE THAT THE EASE IN WHICH THE RUBBER PAD CAN SEPARATE FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
