Four (4) General Tire Reliatrek P205/65R16 95H were purchased on August 6, 2024 at Toyota Greenville located in Greenville, South Carolina, with mileage on my car at 138,174. At my last service in late December 2025, with 175, 777 miles on my car, i was told by Toyota Greenville that two of them needed replaced, with the others marginal. It was recommended by Toyota to have all four replaced. The promised warranty of these tires was 65,000 miles. I only put 37,603 miles on these tires, indicating severe premature wear and manufacturer defect. The tire manufacturer was contacted by Toyota about this safety concern, but little to no compensation was offered. The tires have been serviced at Toyota Greenville, and records can be provided (including photos) since time of purchase.
I have under 30,800 miles. On 02/25/2025 my car was completely dead. I called Andy Mohr Toyota. I had my car towed in . They said I needed a new battery. Okay I paid got my car back. On 10/16/25 car is completely dead again. I called roadside assistance. My new battery won’t hold a charge. The starter is working and alternator is connected. Inside looks brand new.
Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry. The contact purchased the vehicle from a private seller. The contact stated that the selling advertisement reported the odometer reading was 96,187. The contact stated that while registering the vehicle with the local Department of Motor Vehicle, the contact was informed that the previous odometer reading was reported at 290,000. The contact then obtained the Carfax report which confirmed that the last odometer reading was 290,000. The seller was contacted and made aware of the discrepancy.

The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the oil level was abnormally low despite the vehicle being serviced within 2,000 miles. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and an oil consumption test was performed, and was still ongoing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 200,000.
when turning left right steering makes a cracked noise.
Catastrophic engine failure due to piston pin bushings/connecting rod bushing failing. The engine was removed, disassembled, and inspected by an automotive machinist. There were no warning lamps or messages, only a knocking sound. The Toyota dealership said there was severe knocking from lower engine, and their remedy was a new engine.
I am deeply concerned and appalled about the safety issue with the 2017 Toyota Camry, which rolled back while it was parked in the driveway of my parents’ house, and resulted in my mother’s foot being crushed. She is currently hospitalized and has been dealing with complications and damages related to this injury. At the time of incident, my father called 911 and paramedics arrived to the scene, and took my mom to the emergency room. I do not have a police report. This dangerous malfunction, which caused the vehicle to move despite being in a parked position, poses serious risks to driver and passenger safety. It is unacceptable that a vehicle of this nature could fail to securely hold its position, leading to injury. We are seeking a thorough investigation into this issue to prevent further harm to others. The vehicle is available for inspection upon your request.
The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in a parking bay with a small inclination, the shift gear was shifted into park, however, the shift gear did not function as intended. The contact's wife was exiting the vehicle, the vehicle rolled backward and over the contact’s wife’s feet. The paramedics arrived and the contact's wife was transported to the local hospital. The contact’s wife sustained injuries to both feet and legs. The contact’s wife was taken to several urgent care facilities for severe pain and physical therapy. The contact’s wife had preexisting conditions; however, the contact’s wife was unable to walk due to the injuries. In addition, the contact stated that the failure had occurred three times. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,032.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request The odometer system of the vehicle has malfunctioned. The odometer reading, which displayed 118,204 miles at the time of purchase, has stopped working entirely and does not record additional mileage. Evidence suggests that the odometer was tampered with or manipulated prior to the sale, as a vehicle history report reveals the car had accumulated 290000 miles before the purchase. The vehicle and odometer are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The odometer fraud poses a safety risk because it misrepresents the vehicle’s condition. With the mileage inaccurately reduced, the car’s actual wear and tear could lead to unexpected mechanical failures. Components like the engine, transmission, and brakes might have significantly higher usage than I was led to believe, increasing the likelihood of breakdowns or accidents. I was also unable to make informed maintenance decisions due to the fraudulent mileage reading. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, an independent service center confirmed that the odometer is no longer functional and has likely been tampered with. Additionally, a vehicle history report (e.g., from Carfax or AutoCheck) confirms that the car had significantly higher mileage before it was sold to me. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, but it has been assessed by an independent mechanic. I am in the process of reporting this issue to law enforcement and my state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). I am prepared to make the car available for further inspection by any relevant authorities.
The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while the wife was driving approximately 25 MPH and pressing the brake pedal to stop, the braking system malfunctioned causing the brake pedal to extend to the floorboard and the vehicle crashed into the rear end of a second vehicle. During the crash, no air bags deployed, and no injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed to the home. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in an unknown manufacturer recall related to the Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pump. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 130,000.
Toyota 2017. 75000 miles transmission is bad
purchased a 2017 Toyota Camry from CarMax in Ontario, CA, with a 12,000 down payment. I chose this vehicle for its reliability and fuel efficiency. After the first week, I noticed poor gas mileage—only 17 mpg. CarMax checked it but found no issues. On September 25th, 2024, I purchased another 2017 Camry with 81,000 miles. After a short test drive, I noted squeaky brakes, a burned-out headlight, and a small windshield chip. CarMax replaced the bulb and promised to address the brakes and chip. However, a few months later, I saw the mileage increasing faster than I was driving, despite maintenance like oil changes, spark plugs, and tire replacements. I am now facing significant financial strain, as I relied on CarMax to provide a trustworthy, economical vehicle. This discrepancy in mileage is unlawful, and I trusted CarMax to deliver a car in good faith. I ask for immediate investigation and resolution to this matter."

It has been inspected by the police and insurance representatives. There were no indication or lance or messages that there was a problem with the car prior to the failure.
Car in reverse and going forward when foot on gas the car will take off at a high speed. Need to hit brakes quick to stop the car. Could cause an accident if other cars are around or pedestrians walking. I nearly hit a building.
The seat belts in the back seat are not working. At first it was only the one behind passé seat and now none of them work and I have a baby and one on the way. It is not safe for my baby to ride in the car.
The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while at a complete stop and depressing the brake pedal, the engine revved to 3500-4000 RPM. The contact stated that he depressed the brake pedal harder to prevent the vehicle from moving, and the RPMs decreased. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a field technician, who retrieved data from the vehicle and sent a report to the manufacturer. Second time this has happened in 2 years. Driving on the freeway and the car’s electrical system shuts off. No power to any electrical, lights flicker, all dash lights came on. Car would not start, then to repair it the battery needed to be replaced and the alternator needed to be replaced. Very dangerous as I immediately lose power steering, lights, etc.
Defect in the windshield- Lamintaed glass- Due internal stress in the inner glass layer, pieces of the glass started falling in my lap as I was driving. Please investigate. Called Toyota Customer Service Group and they failed to understand the safety of this issue. Laminated glass should not separate by having pieces of glass in driver's lap and reating a hole in the upper corner of the windshield

I have a 2017 toyota camry with only 30k miles and the servo motor has gone bad. that's what the dealership told me. i was told by dealership this is a common problem, yet Toyota doesn't have a bulletin for this issue. i am looking on [XXX] and see it's listed and several other websites. i was told repair cost can be $1,4000 - 4,800. Car has only 30k miles so i am quite surprised that it's needing this costly repair. Furthermore, given the fact that it's a known issue why did Toyota not have a bulletin for this? Are they trying to pass this cost onto the consumer? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The radio in my car flickers when turning the wheel it makes a cranking sound and it’s slow to accelerate
While driving home from work I suddenly noticed green smoke billowing from under my passenger seat. I immediately pulled over rolled my windows down I removed my back pack from the seat that was smoldering on top of the seat . There was absolutely nothing combustible in my back pack I removed my back back from the vehicle. The extinguished itself some how. I began coughing and choking due to the toxic smoke. Once I felt that the fire in the passenger seat was no longer a threat to my life. I begrudgingly continued my drive home which was an additional 15 Miles home. I am a sheriff deputy for Los Angeles county I realized that getting off the highway was the safest place for my self and other vehicles around me. The 15 freeway is a very busy highway and is not safe to remain on the side of the road unless there was an immediate threat of danger or an accident that needed to be reported. I arrived home safely but extremely unnerved. I do not smoke I do not use vaping or any other such things. I took several pictures it's quite obvious the seat caught on fire from under or within the seat. There is absolutely zero aftermarket products added to my vehicle . All of my vehicle maintenance has been done at Toyota dealerships only. This incident was very scary to say the least. Fortunately I had no passengers had I had my teenage children wife or anyone else in the front passenger seat the potential of serious harm could have occurred. I am reporting this as Toyota claims no recalls for this vehicle. My vehicle warranty just recently expired. Toyota has many recalls on several different years for this type of thing occurring. With my personal experience, I highly recommend this incident be investigated, and a possible recall should be implemented for the safety of others. There appears in pictures that the wiring underneath the seat initiated the fire. Toyota needs to be responsible for this. Gm, we brought the car in April 2021. In addition to the purchase we have had issues first the car wouldn't start we brought a new one battery. Then we purchase new tires because the ones on the car at purchase was worn in which this car was certified car. Then this morning the car again wouldn't start the gas pedal sticking to floor and seems like fuel pump is acting up or some other issues . I contacted the dealership to have a complete diagnostic at no charge to have repairs fixed at no charge . Or I want a new car. Somethings going on need it to be addressed ASAP . Only had car 5 months
Vehicle was involved in accident on 08/22/2021. The speed was 55-60 mph . The vehicle in front, a 2014 Chevrolet 4wd full size pick up changed lanes (left to right) clipping the left front of the Toyota & slammed on brakes. The Toyota went under the bumper & right rear fender of the truck. The damage to the Toyota included the ECU, ABS & brake components, wiring harness & fuse/relay blocks, & all of the sheet metal, bumper, A/C,etc. Insurance company opted to repair the vehicle (cost is now approaching $18,000). My wife & granddaughter (adult) were the front seat occupants. They both sustained bruises but no serious injuries. If the air bags do not deploy in an accident that destroys the entire front end of a 4 year old vehicle with 25,000 miles (we purchased new), what does it take for them to deploy? Does not give us much confidence in the safety. The vehicle is currently at Greenville Toyota Body Shop in Greenville,SC. Repairs started 09/02/2021. Waiting for interior wiring harness. No warning lights or issues before the crash. The battery was destroyed in the crash.
I purchased this vehicle from D-276 Adam's Toyota in Lee's Summit on or about 8/9/2021. After 250 miles of driving I began to noticed a stutter in the shifting from first to second gear. No other incident was noticed for 2 to 3 days. I was on the interstate a few days later from the first stutter when it occurred again but more pronounced. I do remember that I was accelerating at about 40% throttle because I was in a rush, and I believed the throttle intensity played a role in the abruptness of the stutter. When I reached the interstate I came to a cruising speed of around 70 and engaged the cruise. I noticed that it was behaving oddly and it would shift often to control the speed it's almost as if it's tolerances are extremely tight. The hard shifting continues but now I know to go light on the throttle to minimize impact. As for the cruise control I will only use cruise control on relatively flat roads whereas it is extremely shifty on hilly roads. (Opinion begins) I believe the adaptive cruise control should have wider tolerances I only see this as contributing to transmission degradation.
Experiencing vehicle hesitation when accelerating to go around another vehicle or going through traffic coming from another way. Very uncomfortable producing anxiety in not knowing what may happen. This incident happens frequently and unable to give specific date as to when it first began. My wife is noticing it's occurrence more frequently.
The spiral cable sub assembly failed, losing the horn the cruise control and other portions of control on the string, would have failed with time. Should’ve thought you’re like this occur on a vehicle that’s not even four years old. Part number 84307 Dash 02220 cost was $834.
