RECALL #20V682 10/28/2020. WHAT HAPPENED TO RECALL #20V012 1/13/2020? TOYOTA AND THE NHTSA WERE BOTH AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM PRIOR TO 1/13/2020. I HAD READ ABOUT THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND LOOKED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE FOR MONTHS TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN AFFECTED. THEY CAN'T FIND A FIX IN 2 YEARS? I THINK THEY KNEW WHEN IT WAS MANUFACTURED. IT ALWAYS SEEMED A LITTLE OFF TO ME.
THE TRANSMISSION IN THE 2018 XSE V6 IS JUNK. IT IS JERKY ON ACCELERATION (LIKE DRIVING A MANUAL TRANSMISSION) AND WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND THE SHIFTS ARE HARD, AND CLUNKY. EVEN WORSE WHEN COLD. WHEN COMING TO A STOP, THE SHIFT FROM 2ND TO 1ST HAPPENS WITH A HUGE THUD. HAD DEALER TAKE A LOOK AND THEY TOLD ME NOTHING WAS WRONG AFTER HOOKING IT UP TO THEIR COMPUTERS. PRETTY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY THIS BRAND NEW CAR DRIVES. MAJOR HESITATIONS WHEN ACCELERATING. CAUSES ENTIRE CAR TO JERK UNTIL THE MOTOR SMOOTHS OUT. THIS LOYAL TOYOTA OWNER FOR OVER 30 YEARS IS STRONGLY THINKING ABOUT SWITCHING BRANDS. 5K MILES ON CAR.
CAR IS HESITATING/SLUGGISH WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP/ROLLING STOP. TAKES FOREVER TO GET TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS, WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. WHEN THERE IS TRAFFIC ON A HIGHWAY, CHANGING LANES INTO A LANE IN WHICH TRAFFIC IS GOING FASTER IS EXTREMELY HARD DUE TO FEAR BEING REAR-ENDED. CAR STRUGGLES TO GET FROM 0-45 AND WILL ONLY DO SO WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS STEPPED DOWN ALL THE WAY. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ARE VERY JERKY. SEEMS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR TO BE IN 90% OF THE TIME. ALL THESE SYMPTOMS APPEAR TO BE IN ONLY THE 4 CYLINDER MODEL OF THE 2018 CAMRYS.
HAD FOG AND MOISTURE SHOWING BEHIND RAIDO DISPLAY
I WAS FOLLOWING THE CAR'S BUILT-IN NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND AS I GOT WITHIN ABOUT A MILE OF THE DESTINATION ADDRESS, IT ABRUPTLY STOPPED WORKING. THE DISPLAY DISAPPEARED. I USED MY SMART PHONE MAP TO GET TO MY DESTINATION. ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT DISTRACTED, I BELIEVE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A HAZARD IF I HAD BEEN IN AN UNFAMILIAR AREA HAVING MY NAVIGATION INSTRUCTIONS AND MAP SUDDENLY DISAPPEAR
I LEASED A LOW END CAMRY 6 MONTHS AGO. SINCE THEN I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM ABOUT 20 TIMES. WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP USUALLY ON A SLIGHT UPGRADE THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASE FROM THE 600 VALUE AT IDLE TO ABOUT 2200. THIS OCCURS IN A SPEED RANGE OF 0 TO 5 MPH. FORTUNATELY I HAVE MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN IT HAS HAPPENED AND GENERALLY AM NOT CLOSE TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SO I AM ABLE TO HOLD THE CAR WITH THE FOOT BRAKE BUT GENERALLY NEED TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE TO ELIMINATE THE HIGH RPM AND WHEN RESTARTING ALL IS BACK TO NORMAL. I HAVE HAD THE CAR AT THE DEALERS 3 TIMES AND ALL IS "WELL" BASED ON THE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS. I SUSPECT A SOFTWARE PROBLEM IN THE COMPUTER BUT THAT FALLS ON DEAF EARS.
I PURCHASED MY TOYOTA 2018 CAMRY SE WITH 4 MILES ON IT. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY I NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS ACCELERATING. WHILE RESUMING DRIVING ,FROM A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT AND MERGING ON TO A HIGHWAY, WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR HAS A MAJOR DELAY IN ACCELERATION. IT MAKES A LOUD REVVING NOISE LIKE A SPORTS CAR WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS, AND THE CAR DOES NOT TAKE OFF WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL . IT IS A MAJOR DELAY .ITS VERY SLOW, AND YOU BARELY MOVE WHILE THE CAR IS MAKING A TREMENDOUS AND EMBARRASSING AMOUNT OF LOUD NOISE. IN ORDER TO TRY AND AVOID BEING HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, AND AT THIS TIME I DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN. ITS TOTALLY RANDOM . I COULD TAKE OFF OUT OF SYNC WITH PRESSING THE GAS TOO QUICKLY , OR BARELY MOVE AT ALL. THIS IS HAZARDOUS. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TWICE AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP, THAT I PURCHASED MY CAR WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE DEALERSHIP SAID BOTH TIMES, THAT THEY TEST DROVE MY CAR AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. PLEASE DO A RECALL ON THIS CAR FOR OUR OWN SAFETY.
MY CAR REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE GOT FLAT AND PASSENGER SIDE TIRE HAS BUBBLE. MY CAR HAS ONLY 2500MILES ON IT.
THE CAR KEEPS JUMPING FORWARD, IT CAN'T DECIDE WHEN IT WANTS TO SHIFT UP. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP, OR DRIVING AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR TAKES OVER 5 SECONDS TO REALLY 'TAKE' AND REALIZE YOU ARE PUSHING ON THE GAS. ALL IT DOES IS REV, A LOT.
HIT A POTHOLE ON INTERSTATE 75 AND THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE BROKE OFF THE RIM. THE RIM AND TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACE.
THE CAR HAS ACCELERATION/SPEED PROBLEMS. THE CAR HAS ONLY 200 MILES, TOOK IT IN TE HIGHWAY AND TAKES TOO LONG TO REACH HIGHWAY SPEED. IT RARELY REACHES AND STAYS AT LOWER SPEED. LIKE OTHERS IT SEEMS THIS CAMRY WILL HAVE A LOT REAR-END ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE LACK OF SPEED PERFORMANCE. I FEEL SCARE TO DRIVE THIS CAR, TOO DIFFICULT TO CHANGE LANES, TOO DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC. IF CARS ARE APPROACHING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND YOU ARE CHANGING LINES YOU MORE THAN LIKELY WILL END UP REAR- END. IT TOOK ME TWO AND A HALF HOURS TO COMPLETE A 1 HOUR TRIP DUE TO LACK OF SPEED, CAR NOT RESPONDING AND FEAR OF GETTING REAR-END BY OTHER CARS WHO WERE HURNING BECAUSE CAR WOULDN'T SPEED UP. CAR IS TOO UNSAFE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO TOYOTA. WORST CAR EVER.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
WIND NOISE FROM THE SIDE WINDOWS WHEN DRIVING
THE TRANSMISSION CLUNKS WHEN THE LOWER FORWARD TRANSMISSION GEAR ENGAGES WHEN ACCELERATING ON TO THE HIGHWAY. THIS TRANSMISSION DEFECT CAN ALSO BE DESCRIBED AS A THUD THAT GIVES THE DRIVER THE IMPRESSION THE CAMRY TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL SHOULD THE DRIVER CONTINUE TO APPLY PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RETRACT AND THE PRE-COLLISION DETECTION SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: AU0000000358273. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,600.
HESITATION/LAGGING ISSUES AT BOTH HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS- HESITATES BOTH WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION - SHIFTS ARE HORRIBLE THE CAR JERKS A LOT- IN CRUISE CONTROL GOING 70-75 MPH JERKS HARD, WITH NO CARS IN FRONT OF IT. I HAVE A 2018 TOYOTA CAMRY AND ON MY FIRST WEEK AFTER BUYING IT, I NOTICED THAT THERE'S A MAJOR ACCELERATION DELAY THAT I COULDN'T BEAR ANYMORE. IT'S MAKING A WEIRD SOUND AND IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING NOTICEABLE. TOYOTA SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF THIS AS THIS MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS ESPECIALLY ON MERGING ON THE FREEWAY. I TRIED TO TAKE IT TO 2 DIFFERENT TOYOTA SERVICE CENTERS AND BOTH JUST TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WAS DRIVING FINE. I LOOKED UP SOME COMPLAINTS FOR THIS CAR ONLINE AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME AS WITH 2019 MODELS. I HOPE TOYOTA WILL FIX THIS BECAUSE IT'S MAKING US CONSUMERS VERY FRUSTRATED.
TAKATA RECALL. I JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR 8/20/2018, TOYOTA CAMRY SE 2018. AND MY CONCERN IS IF MY CAR IS ONE OF THE ENGINE PROBLEM AND OVERSIZED PISTOLS RECALL?
2018 CAMRY XSE V6 - IF THE CAR IS NOT FULLY WARMED UP AND YOU ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR IS VERY ROUGH. IT IS MORE PRONOUNCED IF YOU ARE ACCELERATING UP A HILL. THE ONLY WAY TO GET RID OF THE ROUGH 1ST TO 2ND GEAR SHIFT BEFORE THE CAR IS FULLY WARMED UP IS TO APPLY EXCESSIVE THROTTLE.
WATER AND DIRT LEAKING INTO ENGINE CABIN!
I OVERALL LOVE MY NEW CAMRY XSE EXCEPT FOR TWO THINGS: 1-THE FEEDBACK ON THE HANDS FREE PHONE IS SO BAD NO ONE WILL TALK TO ME HANDS FREE EXCEPT MY FAMILY. THERE IS A HORRIBLE ECHO THAT MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR THE PERSON CALLING ME TO HEAR ME. THEY STATE ALL THEY CAN HEAR PRIMARILY IS THE ECHO OF THEIR OWN VOICE. WHEN AN ISSUE IS SO BAD THAT THE HANDS FREE SYSTEM-WHICH IS MEANT TO IMPROVE SAFETY WHILE DRIVING-THAT YOU NEVER USE IT, IT SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. I SEE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FROM ALMOST EVERYONE REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. 2-ABOUT 1 OUT OF 20 TIMES I GET A CALL, IT COMES THROUGH WITH A VERY STRANGE RINGING SOUND THAT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I STOP THE CAR & TURN IT OFF THEN ON AGAIN. I HAVE VIDEO OF THIS HAPPENING (I DON'T BELIEVE I CAN ATTACH A VIDEO HERE BUT I DO HAVE IT) AND I ALSO CANNOT ANSWER THE CALL AT ALL-IT WILL RING NONSTOP FOR OVER 30 MINUTES IF I DON'T PULL OVER AND STOP/RESTART MY CAR. BOTH OF THESE ISSUES ARE EXTREMELY ANNOYING CONSIDERING THE MONEY I PAID FOR THE CAR, I DIDN'T EXCEPT THESE TYPES OF ISSUES.
WHEN THE BRAKES ARE COLD ON MY 2018 CAMRY LE, THEY GRAB GOING FORWARD OR BACK REGARDLESS OF HOW CAREFULLY THEY ARE APPLIED. ON 10K MILE CHECK-UP THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE, PRESUMABLY BECAUSE IT IS A COLD BRAKE PROBLEM. WILL MAKE COMPLAINT AGAIN AT 15K MILE CHECK AND GET IN WRITING THAT IT HAS BEEN RECEIVED.
I BOUGHT 2018 CAMRY LE THE PROBLEM IS JERKEY SHIFTS FROM THE TRANSMISSION, AND SOMETIMES IS DOSEN'T ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW DOWN IF YOU ARE MERGING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS CAN BE A BIG RISK BECAUSE IT DOESN'T GO WHEN IT THE GAS AFTER A FEW SECONDS ITS KICKS AND GOES REALLY FAST AND YOU DONT EVEN KNOW HOW FAST IT WILL GO ALSO THE TRANSMISSION IS SUPER JURKEY IN CITY TRAFFIC. SOMETIME IF YOU PUT THE ACCELERATION IT DOESN'T MOVE FORWARD WE AND OTHER TIMES ITS ACCELERATION IS TOO FAST AND YOU CAN CRASH WITH THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU. ALSO THE GAS PEDAL IS REALLY STIFF AND IF YOU DRIVE FOR A LONG TIME YOUR FEET AND LEG GETS REALLY SORE FROM APPLYING SO MUCH PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL.
WHEN THE CAR IN THE LOW SPEED AROUND 20 MILES/HOUR AND THE ENGINE AROUND 2000RPM, THE TRANSMISSION IS WIRED TRYING TO FIND SPECIFIED GEAR, MAKE THE CAR SPEED INCREASED AND DECREASED, IT LIKE JERK THE CAR. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU TRYING TO SPEED UP CATCH UP CARS SPEED FROM LOWER SPEED ON HIGHWAY, PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR JUST LIKE THINKING THE LIFE PHILOSOPHY THE RPM REACH 4000 THE CAR SUDDENLY SPEED UP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOYOTA OF GRAND RAPIDS (2555 28TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49512, (877) 703-5930) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW SOFTWARE PROGRAM UPDATE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 275.

THE FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOYOTA GRAND RAPIDS (LOCATED AT 2555 28TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI) WHERE THE FAILURES WERE CONFIRMED, BUT COULD NOT BE REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 250.
TAKATA RECALL THE FRONT AXLE BREAKS WHEN DRIVING ON A CITY STREET (NOT TURNING BUT THE STEERING WHEEL IS SLIGHTLY RIGHT) WITH A SPEED OF ABOUT 25-30 MPH AND THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT OFF THE VEHICLE WITH BOTH RIGHT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR TIRES BURST. NOT SURE IF THE CAR HITS THE CURB FIRST OR THE AXLE OR FLAT TIRE HAPPENED FIRST.
LANE SENSORS NOT WORKING. THESE SENSORS ARE SUPPOSED TO KEEP YOU IN YOUR LANE FOR SAFETY. I DIDN'T REALIZE I WAS GOING OVER CENTER LINE BECAUSE SENSOR NOT WORKING. NOT HAVING SENSORS THAT WORK COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT.

ALSO, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DARCARS 355 TOYOTA ROCKVILLE (15625 FREDERICK RD, ROCKVILLE, MD 20855 (301) 340-0900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT RODENTS CHEWED THROUGH THE INSULATION AND WIRING, WHICH NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE ONLINE AND FOUND THAT A SOY-BASED PRODUCT WAS USED IN MAKING THE INSULATION AND WIRING, WHICH COULD ATTRACT RODENTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700.
The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked while the accelerator pedal depressed. The “Low Braking Power” message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V682000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be repaired. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact's mother had accelerated at a stoplight and the brake pedal had failed to operate as needed upon depression. The same “Low Braking Power" warning light was illuminated. Her mother also stated that the "stop in a safe place" and "maintenance required" messages also appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to the contact's home without the proper braking functionality. The same dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a diagnostic fee. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8. Consumer would like to add after picking up the car from dealer there has been excessive amount of oil leak which dealer has not mentioned.

MY BRAKES GRAB AND JERK AT LOW SPEEDS. ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M BACKING UP OR PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY THEY ARE FINE AND THE ISSUE IS NORMAL. I'VE ALSO CONTACTED TOYOTA CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY REFERRED ME BACK TO THE DEALER. I NOTICED VIA AN ONLINE SEARCH; THAT MANY OTHER DRIVERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE WITH NO REMEDY OFFERED FROM TOYOTA.
VEHICLE HAD AN UNINTENTIONAL BRAKING INCIDENT RELATED TO THE FACTORY SAFETY SYSTEMS WHICH CAUSED PROPERTY DAMAGE. OF CONCERN IS THAT ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO READ THE EDR, THERE WAS NO RECORDED EVENT THEREFORE THEY ARE DENYING THAT AN UNINTENTIONAL BRAKING EVENT OCCURRED. I WAS NOT PRESENT AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THEY DOWNLOADED THE DATA HOWEVER THEY LEFT A THUMB DRIVE IN THE CAR WHICH ALLEGEDLY CONTAINS THE DATA THEY PULLED FROM THE CAR. WHEN THE EVENT OCCURRED, THE CAR WAS ON THE TRACK OF AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH BEING PUSHED ALONG BY ROLLERS UNDER THE WHEELS WHILE IN NEUTRAL. THE SPEED WAS LIKELY 2-3 MPH. WHEN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WENT UNDER A CURTAIN OF SWAYING CLOTH STRIPS, ALARMS WENT OFF IN THE VEHICLE, LARGE ILLUMINATED LETTERS THAT SAID BRAKE APPEARED IN THE INSTRUMENT DISPLAY, IT BRAKED BY ITSELF CAUSING IT TO COME OFF OF THE TRACK ROLLERS AND THE CONVEYER PULLED THE VEHICLE BEHIND INTO THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES. THE OWNERS MANUAL LISTS AUTOMATIC CAR WASH AS A SITUATION WHEN THE SYSTEM MAY ACTIVATE (ALONG WITH PASSING OTHER VEHICLES, GOING UNDER HIGHWAY SIGNS AND ABOUT 20 OTHER COMMON EVERYDAY SITUATIONS WHERE ONE WOULD BE UNABLE TO DEACTIVATE THE SYSTEMS PRIOR TO THE SITUATION). THE OWNERS MANUAL DOES NOT TELL YOU TO DISABLE THE SYSTEM WHEN IN AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH. TOYOTA DENIES ANY LIABILITY DUE TO THE EDR NOT RECORDING THE EVENT ALTHOUGH THEY IDENTIFIED THAT IT WOULD AND SHOULD HAVE IF IT OCCURRED. THERE CLEARLY IS A PROBLEM WITH THE EDR RECORDING PROPERLY IF IT IS NOT RECORDING WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO. THE DATA ON THE THUMB DRIVE IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. THE DEALER IDENTIFIED WHEN THE CLAIM WAS FILED THAT TOYOTA HAS A UNIT DEDICATED SPECIFICALLY TO UNINTENTIONAL BRAKING, SAME AS THEY DO FOR THE UNINTENTIONAL ACCELERATION PROBLEMS THEIR VEHICLES EXPERIENCED SO CLEARLY THEY ARE AWARE OF POTENTIAL PROBLEMS. *TR

WINDSHIELD DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT OF WHILE DRIVING INTO THE SUN. THERE ARE LIGHT COLORED SPECKLES THROUGHOUT THE WINDSHIELD THAT MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THROUGH WHENEVER WE ARE DRIVING DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN. IT'S CALLED "WINDSHIELD DELAMINATION" BUT THEY FEEL THAT THIS COMES FROM ROCKS AND SAND HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. WE NOTICED IT THE VERY FIRST DAY WE DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND THE FIRST TIME WE BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE, THE SERVICE WRITER SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND WOULDN'T EVEN WRITE IT ON THE INVOICE. WE FEEL THAT TOYOTA NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD INSTEAD OF MAKING EXCUSES THAT ALL WINDSHIELDS HAVE THIS SAFETY PROBLEM AFTER A LITTLE WHILE. THIS WAY WE WILL BE ABLE TO SEE MORE CLEARLY OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD WHENEVER WE MUST DRIVE INTO THE SUN.
The car hesitates while driving different speeds and kicks in almost like the transmission is slipping I have taken it in to the local dealership and they continue to tell me that everything is fine, they have done what they call a software update stating that it should fix it but it has not, there are no open recalls for the vin number but its an on going issue.

YOU CAN NOT LIFT THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER IT HIT THE HOOD
EVERYTIME WE STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR IT DELAYS TAKE OFF RESPONSE AS OF THE TRANSMISSION STARTS ON 4TH GEAR THEN RAPIDLY DROPS IT TO 1ST OR 2ND WHICH THEN CREATES A REALLY JERKY EFFECT WHICH IS NOT COMFORTABLE, NOT SAFE AND NOT RELIABLE.
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN OCTOBER 2017,WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK THE BECAME NOTICEABLY LOUDER. INITIALLY WE THOUGHT THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE WARNED UP. HOWEVER THE VEHICLE REMAINS IN HIGH IDLE MODE FOR LONG PERIOD OF TIME AS THOUGH THE THROTTLE IS STICKING. WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT IN USE, IF RESTARTED WITHIN 5-10 MINUTES THE RESPONDS THE SAME AS BEFORE VERY HIGH IDLING AND SOUNDS AS THOUGH IT HAS NO OIL GETTING TO THE ENGINE(VALVETRAIN). CAR TAKES SEVERAL MOMENTS TO ACCELERATE WHILE THE PEDAL IS VERY STIFF AND THE RPM'S DOES NOT MATCH THE ACCELERATION TIME. FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES STICK WHEN YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY CAR TENDS TO PICKUP ON POWER ITSELF WHILE WITHIN THE NEXT FEW MINUTES LOSING POWER AGAIN. WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY TO START CITY SPEED LIMITS AFTER TAKING OFF FROM A STOP THE RPM'S INCREASE HOWEVER CAR DOESN'T MOVE AT DESIRED SPEED(DRAGS). ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS METAL RUNNING THROUGH IT AS WELL AS THE SOUNDS IT MAKES WHILE IDLING. TICKING.SHAKING,KNOCKING ALL AT ONCE. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE ENGINE NOISE AND THE WAY IT SHAKES BUT YOUR ATTACHMENT ONLY ALLOWS FOR 5MB AND THE VIDEO HAS MORE THAN 5MB. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE HOWEVER THE RESPONSE WAS ALWAYS WE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND VEHICLE EITHER NEEDS A LIGHT ON OR NEEDS TO BE CURRENTLY SHOWING THE PROBLEM RIGHT THEN. THEY EVEN COMPARED IT TO OTHER CAMRY'S TO MAKE SURE THEY SAID BUT THE CAR WAS STILL DOING THE SAME SYMPTOMS WHILE WE WERE THERE AND AS WE LEFT. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A DESIGN ISSUE AND DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS NOW. THE FIRST MONTH I NOTICED THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE WAY THIS NEW VEHICLE ACCELERATES. WHEN STOPPED AND STARTING MOVEMENT AGAIN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY JERKS AND DOES NOT SPEED UP RIGHT AWAY. THE JERKING PART IS MY MAIN SAFETY CONCERN. I HAVE PREVIOUSLY OWNED OTHER TOYOTA MODELS AND NO OTHER MODEL HAS DONE THIS. I'M AFRAID SOMEONE WILL REAR END MY DUE TO THE SUDDEN JERKING AND THEN DELAYED RESPONSE OF THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. IT IS ESPECIALLY DISTRESSING AT INTERSECTION LIGHTS, OFF RAMPS, AND STOP SIGNS. ANYWHERE REQUIRED TO STOP OR SLOW MOVEMENT AND THEN NEED TO ACCELERATE EVEN AT A MODERATE PACE. When vehicle is stopped from slow speeds, the car lurches to a stop because the brakes grab much harder than the pressure being applied to the brake pedal would indicate. These touchy brakes can alarm passengers in the vehicle and pedestrians near the vehicle causing them to be frightened that the vehicle hit something. Toyota developed a fix for this problem which is described by T-SB-0033-20 but the fix was not published until 4/8/20 (less than 6 months before my 36 month warranty expired) and was only applicable to vehicles in warranty so when I discovered the fix, my car was out of warranty and Toyota refuses to perform the fix at no charge.
THE POWERTRAIN IS VERY ROUGH AT LOW SPEED. WHEN PEDAL IS PUMPED SLOWLY THE GEAR CHANGES WITH A THUD AND JERKING. THIS FEELS WORSE THAN A MANUAL GEAR CAR. THE CAR DROVE AROUND 7500MILES. COMPLAINT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY NOTIFIED IT MAY BE DUE TO CAR COMPUTER ISSUE.
LAG AND HESITATION WHEN GOING TO FULL THROTTLE ON THE GAS PEDAL. IT HESITATES FOR A SECOND AND THEN FINALLY GRABS ON TO ACCELERATE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,288.
