TAKATA RECALL - TOYOTA LETTER RECEIVED (BLOOMINGTON INDIANA) STATING THEY COMPLETED PARTS PREP FOR MY GEOGRAPHICAL REGION AND TO CONTACT A DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT. I CALLED DEALER AND WAS TOLD TOYOTA HAD PLACED A 3 PER WEEK LIMIT AND THAT THE DEALER WOULD NEED TO ORDER AND EXPECT DELIVERY IN TWO WEEKS. THAT TO ME IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE LEGAL NONSENSE OF NOT HAVING A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER IS ANNOYING SINCE THIS HAS BEEN DRAGGING OUT FOR A VERY LONG TIME. SURELY THERE ARE OTHER MANUFACTURERS THAT COULD MAKE REPLACEMENT. SEEMS TO ME NO ONE IS TAKING THIS WITH ANY SENSE OF URGENCY.
TAKATA INFLATOR: RECEIVED LETTER RECOMMENDING URGENT SAFETY RECALL. PARTS WERE SUPPOSEDLY ORDERED 3/21/16. AS OF TODAY, 4/8/16, PARTS ARE "BACKORDER" WITH NO TIMEFRAME. SPOKE TO "JENNIFER" AT TOYOTA REPAIR SHOP. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I FREQUENTLY HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY CAR, AS I TAKE FRIENDS TO DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS. PLEASE ADVISE....BY THE WAY, THE LETTER STATES THAT TOYOTA HAS THE PARTS AVAILABLE FOR MY GEOGRAPHIC REGION. SO WHY ARE THE PARTS NOT AVAILABLE? I CALLED AS SOON AS I RECEIVED THE LETTER.

TAKATA RECALL WHEN DEALERSHIP REPLACED AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE DUE TO RECALL, THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVER SIDE SHOWED IT WAS NOT WORKING ANY LONGER
THERE WAS A RECALL ON TOYOTA'S ENGINE CONTROL MODULES. I TOOK MY CAR IN AND HAD IT REPLACED IN 2012 DUE TO A FAILED EMISSIONS INSPECTION. IN 2016, IM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN AND TOYOTA REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
TAKATA RECALL (POSSIBLY) SRS AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WAS BLINKING AND NOW IT STAYS ON AT ALL TIMES AFTER STARTUP. ALSO, PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG STATES "OFF" AT ALL TIMES. IT APPEARS ALL AIRBAGS ARE DISABLED. VEHICLE WENT TO LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER 3/2/16 FOR AIR BAG RECALL/ISSUES. APPEARS PROBLEM NOT RESOLVED. ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT DEALER AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AND THE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RETRACT ON IMPACT. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LUNGED FORWARD, BUMPED HER HEAD AGAINST THE DOOR FRAME, AND LOST CONSCIOUSNESS. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION AND THE OTHER TWO PASSENGERS SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISING. ALL THREE OCCUPANTS REQUIRED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL I'M JUST CONCERNED AT HOW LONG THIS RECALL IS TAKING. FOR SUCH A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD, IT'S BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED MY INITIAL RECALL NOTICE AND I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT IT SINCE. I'M EXPECTING A CHILD IN A FEW MONTHS AND I CAN'T BE DRIVING AROUND IN A VEHICLE THAT HAS SUCH A GLARING SAFETY PROBLEM. THE RECALLS NEED TO BE FIXED FASTER AND MORE EFFICIENTLY.

DUE TO THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR STILL BEING ILLUMINATED AFTER REPAIRS WERE DONE, THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

DRIVER'S WINDOW. MY WIFE HAD JUST STARTED HER 2005 TOYOTA MATRIX AND PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. WHEN SHE PUT IT BACK UP, THE WINDOW SUDDENLY ROTATED AND STARTED TO SLIDE DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. I WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY PULL THE GLASS BACK INTO POSITION. WE TRIED PUTTING IT UP A SECOND TIME AND THE WINDOW TRIED TO ROTATE DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR AGAIN. AFTER REALIGNING IT AND GENTLY LEANING ON THE GLASS, WE WERE ABLE TO FULLY CLOSE THE WINDOW. THE CAR HAS 150,000 MILES. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THAT HAS OCCURED IN THE '03 & '04 MODELS, NHTSA # 08V162000

IN RECALL NOTICE, IT STATES TO CONTACT YOU IF TOYOTA HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THE DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME. WHILE I WAS GOING INTO A RIGHT TURN THE VEHICLE KEEP GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE LOSING ALL CONTROLS, THE BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE CAUSING THE CAR TO SLAM INTO THE CURB. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 35 YEARS AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME WHILE DRIVING.

SO I CALLED TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER ON 04/23/2016 AND CASE # 1604230474 CREATED WITH TOYOTA. AGAIN DEALER SAID ANOTHER 6 TO 8 WEEKS ON 04/23/2016. AGAIN I CALLED TODAY (07/02/2016), DEALER IS SAYING ANOTHER 6 TO 8 WEEKS. I WANT TO KNOW, IF TOYOTA IS NOT PROVIDING ENOUGH PARTS TO DEALER OR IF DEALER IS NOT DOING THEIR JOB? UNTIL THEN, RECOMMENDED NO OCCUPANT IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT." AS OF TODAY 12/28/2015 (ALMOST 5 MONTHS AFTER RECEIVING RECALL NOTICE) TOYOTA HAS NOT NOTIFIED ME THE REMEDY CAN BE PERFORMED. THEREFORE, I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT BEC TOYOTA HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME, KNOWINGLY JEOPARDIZING SAFETY.
WHILE DRIVING ON PR HIGHWAY, WITHIN 10 MTS, THE CAR'S ENGINE STOPPED HAVING ENOUGH TIME TO PARK THE CAR ON THE EMERGENCY SIDE ROAD. WHEN I SAW SMOKE COMING OUT THE HOOD, I GRABBED BY BELONGINGS AND WALKED AWAY FROM THE CAR. WHILE I'M CALLING MY HUSBAND I SAW THE CAR IN FLAMES. ON DEC. 28, 2015 I SUBMITTED AN INVESTIGATION WITH TOYOTA OF PR IN RELATION TO THE FIRE ON MY CAR ON DEC 24, 2015. UNTIL THIS DATE I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE REGARDING THEIR CASE # [XXX]. WHEN I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE CRITICAL CASES COORDINATOR, HER ONLY RESPONSE IS THAT I WILL RECEIVE A WRITTEN NOTICE FROM HEAD OFFICE. I'VE BEING 2 MONTH WITHOUT A CAR TO GET TO WORK AND I FEEL FRUSTRATED IN THE MANNER TOYOTA HAS TREATED MY SITUATION EVEN WHEN I AUTHORIZED THEM TO PICK UP AND EXAMINE THE CAR AFTER THE INCIDENT. BY THE WAY I STILL HAVE THE BURNED CAR IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE IN CASE THEY NEED ADDITIONAL DATA. RE: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR MODULE RECALL I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR FOUR MONTHS FOR MY DEALERSHIP (TOYOTA NEWNAN, GA) TO CONTACT ME REGARDING THE INFLATOR MODULE. I WAS TOLD TWICE THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME AND THAT I WOULD BE ON A WAITING LIST. I THINK THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, ESPECIALLY SINCE I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL IT IS FIXED.

THIS MEANS I CANNOT CARRY A PASSENGER IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WITHOUT LIABILITY. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER AND TOYOTA. NEITHER KNOWS ANY TIME THIS WILL BE FIXED IN MY AREA, OREGON. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE TO CAN'T CARRY A PASSENGER IN MY CAR FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. IS THERE A FIX? WHEN ARE YOU REQUIRING TOYOTA TO SUPPLY PARTS? CAN I ASK THEM FORA RENTAL CAR UNTIL THEY GET THIS FIXED? THEY SHOULD HAVE DATED THEIR LETTER!

I HAD TO REPLACE MY ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) BECAUSE THE ENGINE WOULD LOOSE POWER AND CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON STREET. THIS BECAME NOTICEABLE AFTER A RAIN STORM. I WAS TOLD BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS A MATRIX XRS, IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR THE OTHER MATRIX MODELS; THEREFORE I SPENT APPROX. $1000 IN HAVING THE ECM REPLACED. I HAD ALL OF THE SAME CITED SYMPTOMS. PLEASE INCLUDE MY ENGINE IN THE RECALL SO I MAY BE REIMBURSED. THANKS YOU.
TAKATA RECALL, DEALER NON RESPONSE. DEALER, ACTON TOYOTA DOES NOT RESPOND WITH INFORMATION REGARDING DANGER TO MY WIFE IN CASE OF ACCIDENT. TOYOTA RECOMMENDS- DO NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITH AN OCCUPANT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. SHOULD I RENT A VEHICLE UNTIL MY AUTOMOBILE IS REPAIRED?
THE VEHICLE STARTED SHOWING THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" AND THE ERROR CODE SHOWN WAS P0741. THE ERROR CODE SUGGESTS ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH CONVERTER SOLENOID. THIS ISSUES SEEMS TO BE COMMON ON THE 2005 COROLLA AND COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE TRANSMISSION DIES IMMEDIATELY WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY OR HIGH-SPEED ROAD.

TAKATA RECALL ELMORE TOYOTA IN WESTMINSTER, CA. FLAT OUT LIED TO ME ABOUT MY AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. ELMORE TOYOTA IS USING DECEITFUL TACTICS, AND POSSIBLY, UNLAWFUL PRACTICES. I TOOK MY CAR TO ELMORE ON 08/19/2015 FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. AT THAT TIME, I TOLD THE SERVICE GUY TO CHECK THE MOLDING AROUND MY WINDOWS, IT'S STARTING TO COME OUT, AND NEEDS TO BE TUCKED BACK IN A FEW SPOTS. AND I ASKED HIM TO GIVE ME AN OIL CHANGE WHILE IT WAS THERE. THEY DIDN'T HAVE REPLACEMENT PARTS ON HAND, SO THEY GAVE ME A RENTAL CAR, AND TOLD ME, WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARRIVE, THEY'LL LET ME KNOW. I CALL A COUPLE TIMES A WEEK TO CHECK ON MY CAR, NOT A SINGLE RETURNED CALL FROM ELMORE. THREE FULL MONTHS GO BY, AND I GET A VOICE MESSAGE FROM ELMORE TELLING ME THAT MY CAR WAS READY, HE SAID TO COME PICK IT UP, AND THAT THEY WON'T PAY ANYMORE DAYS ON THE RENTAL. IT'S MONDAY 11/23/15, I WASH, WAX, AND GAS UP THE RENTAL, AND TAKE IT TO ELMORE. NOBODY CAN FIND MY CAR. NOBODY CAN FIND THE GUY WHO CALLED ME ABOUT IT BEING READY FOR PICK UP. IT WASN'T IN THE COMPUTER. I WAIT, AND WAIT. 45 MINUTES LATER, A SERVICE GUY PULLS UP IN MY CAR, AND IT'S COVERED WITH BIRD CRAP, AND A (3) MONTH LAYER OF DIRT. MY CAR IS WASHED, AND WAXED, ONCE A WEEK. IT WAS IMMACULATE WHEN I TOOK IT TO ELMORE. OBVIOUSLY, MY CAR SAT OUTSIDE ON THEIR LOT FOR (3) MONTHS. I LOOK AND SEE THAT NOTHING WAS DONE WITH THE MOLDING, SO I ASK IF THE OIL WAS CHANGED, HE DIDN'T KNOW. HE SAID, "ALL I KNOW IS, THEY FIXED THE AIRBAG". I ASKED HIM FOR THE PAPERWORK ON MY CAR, THAT SHOWS WHAT WORK WAS REQUESTED, AND WHAT WORK WAS DONE. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY AFTER I WAITED A OTHER 30 MIN. I WENT HOME AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE GUY AT ELMORE AND LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES, AND EMAILS, EXPLAINING THAT THEY DIDN'T DO THE MOLDING, OR OIL, MY CAR WAS FILTHY, AND NO PAPERWORK.
